I usually don't write any reviews on places but today is different. We went to eat breakfast at Mama Ree's this morning and it was an awful experience. We were eating the breakfast buffet and I decided to get a pancake. Well, as I started to eat there was a hair. I took a picture of it. I stopped the waitress, showed it to her and she took it straight to the kitchen and put it in the dirty dishes. No one said anything to us about sorry or anything. As we go to pay, the cashier asked how was the food. Usually I say good, but today I said it would've been better if I didn't have a hair in my pancakes. He was the only one that was apologetic. No waitress or manager said anything. Just a little disappointed in the actions . ( I would post picture, but it won't let me.)

I go to Sylacauga once a year, for two reasons. One is to run the Pinhoti 100 mile race from Heflin to Sylacauga and the other reason is to eat at Momma Ree's. They have THE best food in the world. It is exactly like my mom and granny used to cook when I was a little boy growing up in the old south. I miss that kind of cooking so much and have found it NO WHERE else, other than Momma Ree's. If you like southern cooking at it's finest, you won't be disappointed. And when you go, make sure you say hello to Momma Ree. She'll be running around there somewhere!

Breakfast was so good! Fast, clean, and you feel like you're at home. Breakfasts come with coffee. We were in and out in 30 mins. And I highly recommend the country ham - the best we have had in as long as either of us could remember!

Mama Ree's serves a breakfast like Mom and Grandma used to cook. Mama Ree is a real person and she is at her restaurant to great you. The restaurant has operated over 30 years. Most of the waitresses have been there for years and they treat you like you are company. (My family is partial to Rachel but they are all friendly and give great service.) They offer most traditional breakfast foods. Eggs cooked to order; choices of bacon, country ham, sausage; white bread or whole wheat toast or biscuits; omelets; waffles or pancakes; grits; breakfast fries; are some of the offerings. The fresh blueberry pancakes are the best I have ever tasted. They open daily around 6am and serve breakfast until about 10:30am. We eat there almost every Saturday. Many eat there during the week before work. They have a buffet at lunch with several meats, vegetables, fruits, salad, and desserts. Dinner is served Friday and Saturday evenings. This is a family owned restaurant that has stood the test of time.

Good service. Cost is way too high for the food. Chicken fingers were tough. Veggies taste canned. Of course it was 1:30 pm, so that may have had an effect on taste. But the price!! $3 more per person than it should be. Also they discourage cards and prefer cash/check.

Food was decent kitchen staff was very rude and owner was just about the same. Would have maybe returned but I refuse to give my money to ungrateful owners. Floor was very crowded hard for Customers to move around. Owner greed. I saw elderly people stumbling trying to get out of the maze of booths and tables. We were there for Sunday lunch today. Dressing with giblet gravy, fried chicken, fried fish w/ hush puppies & fries, green beans, butterbeans w/ cornbread. And the best Mac&Cheese ever. Everything was hot and fresh and delicious. Chocolate cobbler today. Never had that before...soooo good. I had a salad because everything looked so fresh on the salad bar. As always service is the best

Perfect place to stop for lunch they have a hot buffet with many selections of southern home-cooked food. Just left from having lunch. Service was good. Food was amazing! Love those veggies (pinto beans, boiled cabbage, fried okra, speckled butterbeans mashed potatoes, potato salad Cole slaw and desserts. The meat today is fried chicken legs, fried chicken tenders and baked chicken tenders plus hamburger with brown gravy. Had that awesome chicken dumplings too! Came away very satisfied and full.
