Lambert's home of the "Throwed Rolls" is one of the finest places to eat I've ever been . They have a fantastic atmosphere and incredible southern home cooking style food. You will not find a better place to eat, anywhere. Their service is friendly and kind to a fault. They take excellent care of you. It is a excellent family establishment, and the pricing is excellent for the portions you receive. Yes, they do throw rolls.

We've been here multiple times and have never had a bad experience. Today was another awesome trip. I had the Hamburger Steak and my wife had the Steak. Both were awesome. The pass arounds were great as well. Caleb, our Waiter, was awesome. We could not of asked for a nicer Waiter. He made our trip today even better. What we asked for he never hesitated to get it for us. Today was my birthday and I had a wonderful time today. Thank you for your great hospitality.

The food and wait staff were great. My only complaint would be the wait time to be seated. We had a party of eight (Five adults an infant, toddler, and seven year old). All together we had the catfish, ribeye, fried chicken, and shrimp. All of which were great. The turnip greens were not recommended although we wanted to try them. I do believe they should season their vegetables more. The gift shop was a little overpriced and their cashiers disconnected and slightly rude. Which is the main reason for the four star rating.

If you want to eat somewhere that your not going to leave hungry then this is the place to go. Unlimited Hot Rolls that they throw to you. They also have fried okra, fried potatoes with onions, black eyes peas and some more things that they go around and give you that's unlimited also. The food portions are big and there is no way you could leave here hungry. I had the chicken strips with white gravy potatoes and green beans and it was so good. We went on a Tuesdsy night around 6:30 and it was very packed. Our wait time was around 30 minutes but well worth it. Great for kids and large families also. Will definitely want to go back here in the future.

Very unique and fresh hot food. I've seen where people say it's "cracker barrel" and they throw rolls....this is not accurate at all! It does have the southern atmosphere and they do "throw" rolls at you. They come around and offer hot fried okra,fried potatoes,Mac n tomatoes,cooked cabbage and lots more while you are eating your meal that you ordered. It's like your dinner with lots of extra sides that are constantly coming around being offered to you by the staff. The rolls are a must have! They are larger than a softball and they throw them to you from across the room. Don't skip out on this place! Go around 4pm and there's not much of a wait. If you wait until 6pm-7pm, be prepared to wait because they stay packed.

When I went it was super packed which made the walk to the bathroom difficult. The restaurant also had it's restrooms located at the very front of the building when you first walked in despite there being signage for a bathroom on the other side of the restaurant which leads to a lockable family bathroom. Our waitress was nice but we wound up hardly seeing her. The food itself is nothing special making the only real reason to go the thrown rolls and pass arounds which were fun.

In town for big softball tournament. Intrigued by the catch line "Throw the rolls"Confusing they really do! However; menu restrictions on side orders when all at the table don't order entree was confusing... I dunno. Great atmosphere tho. Had a good time. In the end just ordered something and paid the bill $$$. Long line of owner successions. Great to see kids picking up where Mom and Dad left off. Enjoyed ourselves but again, the menu restrictions? Not sure why they have to do that... Our waitress even had a pat answer, "...it's not me, it's them...!" So it can't just be me. :o( Good was average country fare but sides?...otherwise would have given 4 stars.

Food was delicious! Atmosphere is great! We have eaten at the one in Sikeston, Mo. I had liver and onions with gravy, my gravy wasn't thick enough but still tasted good. My husband ordered ribeye steak cooked medium and it was well done, but still delicious. The waitress seemed new because she didn't check back to see what we needed except when she brought the check, but she was friendly. I would recommend them as a great place to eat while in Gulf Shores/Foley Alabama.

This is a must-go place if you're vacationing in Gulf Shores! Great southern food. The kids love the fried okra and rolls. They throw the rolls to you and it's really fun. Also, the food is very reasonably priced. The wait can be quite long, so be sure to go early or be prepared to wait!

When they finally did we were all full from the meal, so we never got to enjoy them. Even after conveying to our server Jeff, they still barely came out.

Kids loved it, everyone very friendly, great system they have going for getting customers in and out as quick as they can. Love the misting system to keep everyone cool while waiting and the wooden train outside that kids can play on while waiting. Highly recommend visiting if in or near Foley.

Great service. Never left alone. Its as if you snap your finger and they appear but without the rudeness of snapping your finger. The Rib eye was perfect. Baked potato big and fluffy. The whole experience was outstanding. I loved it and will be back again and again when I am in the area.

The Food is delicious and very southern which is awesome. My only slight complaint and it is nothing that they can really do anything about, is that it was INSANELY BUSY. We waited to get in for about 35 minutes and it was 2 pm! It was worth it but if you are looking for a quiet place to eat and relax......go on down the road.

Over the years we have been hearing about Lambert's Cafe . So while we were vacationing in the Gulf Shores, we had a late lunch . The food was very good & a server threw dinner rolls at us . It was fun . We will be going there again. It was a great experience.

The food is AMAZING! The service is friendly, fast and even fun. The only downside is the wait as it can get up to almost 2 hours before being sitted. Other than that, huge drinks and large portions. Be ready to take home leftovers!

My family and I visited the Lamberts located in Foley, Alabama while on vacation this week. We went around 4pm and the wait was around 20 minutes for a table. The service was excellent, staff coming to our table often , the atmosphere was excellent & the food was amazing!!! We had the special- Ribeye & Grilled Shrimp and it was cooked to perfection. We will definitely come back & recommend to anyone!

Great food, great service, long wait. I wish they would allow online sign ups so you can get on the list while driving there. 30 minutes to drive there to wait over an hour is no fun. I'd rather be driving 30 minutes of my hour wait. Food is definitely worth the wait, I'm just hoping for more. Gift shop is great.

Such a great place to visit! It is homie, the staff is friendly and the food is fabulous! It's always a great experience and one that you won't forget. During peak season (Summer) the wait can be up to 1.5 hours if you have a group larger than 4. However, the wait is well worth it. So plan accordingly. I've never had a bad experience.

A wonderful Southern restaurant! So glad I chose to eat here earlier today. Staff members are very sweet, especially a waitress named Sylvia. Love how they toss you bread. I only eat bread on the weekends, so I didn't get bread tossed at me. Next time I'll go here on Saturday or Sunday. Foley is a really nice little Alabama town.

Be prepared for a LOOOONG wait, but make sure you stay around because this place is worth it! Best to arrive about an hour before you intend to eat. Fun atmosphere once you're in the dining room. Generous portions of what you order with lots of extras. You WILL NOT leave hungry. Watch out for flying rolls!

The wait was 2 hrs on a Wednesday. They did have enough seating for almost everyone outside. The atmosphere is fun. We ordered right when we sat down, it came out quickly. I just didn't think the food was great. Honestly cracker barrel is much better. I would not wait again.

Great home cooking style food. Went with the entire family for a nephew's birthday. Had to wait for a table for a little while, which is normal. Requested balloons for the birthday boy which we never got. The food was good and the throwed rolls are always great and you can't beat the unlimited sides.

I haven’t been here in years. They weren’t busy so no wait- very quick service. That’s the hog jowl plate- aka deep fried bacon. I love that they mark the allergens on the menu. Awesome fried potatoes and onions too. Great tourist spot to shop and eat. Definitely one of the must-dos in Foley.

Make sure you have a snack before you go because there is always a wait. I finally gave in and had my first experience at Lambert’s after waiting an hour. We was told an hour and a half, but thankfully for us it was less. We actually went to the outlet mall while we waited. The restaurant will call and text you to let you know that your table is ready. So if you have time, stop on by. My only other issue is the fact that this establishment has a couple of parking spots reserved for military and military flags all over inside, but the don’t offer a military discount. That definitely made us think they was military friendly, but they got us for assuming.

Oh my goodness... The atmosphere is awesome, so welcoming. The decor is so much nicer then cracker barrel. We had such a warm fun loving young lady. The portions were huge, plus they walk around trying to feed you extra like fries okra, apple butter, fried potatoes and onions, collard greens and more. One guy walked around with huge hot rolls he will even throw them at you.

I want to eat here everyday for the rest of my life. I would be quadruple the weight I am now though, but I'd be happy fat! Joy was our waitress and she was exactly that. She talked to us and helped me decide on what to get because I couldn't make up my mind since everything looked so delicious. I ended up ordering the BBQ Pork Steak with cornbread, baked beans, and loaded baked potato. That's too much food, I know, but I had to try everything I could. They tell you ahead of time to pace yourself because you'll be miserable if not. Heed this warning! I almost decided on the fried chicken but got the pork instead. Joy saw my inner turmoil about having to make this decision and after chatting about my love for fried chicken (being a fat boy of the south), she came back with a tasty, juicy chicken breast for me to try so I'd know if I made the right decision with the pork. I would've been happy either way. That chicken was some of the best chicken I've had in my life. And I've had 10 peoples' shares in my life! It’s delicious, the staff is hilarious and great, the bathrooms are clean! Let’s not forget they throw rolls at you for fun. It’s got quite the wait during the on season though. I’d suggest you check-in at the hostess bar and then come back in an hour to avoid being in the summer heat too long! My sister ordered a salad because she wasn’t super hungry, and they came out with a gigantic bread bowl topped with literally everything your could imagine on a salad. She had to take two boxes home to fit the salad she didn’t eat!

The fixings beforehand and the potatoes and onions are delicious and perfect. The hot rolls are amazing. The food, as you see below, was just okay. It wasn’t my favorite. The beans were good, but there weren’t many actual beans in that cup, just mush. The pot pie has hard peas, and very hard, undercooked carrots. The gravy is just too much and canned. There are better restaurants in the area, but the experience is still interesting and may be worth it to some.

My husband and I came to Alabama for a mini beach trip and couldn’t decide between Lulu’s or Lambert’s Cafe.... SO HAPPY WE PICKED TO COME HERE!!!! Our waitress was so attentive, answered all of our questions, and was very friendly. Probably the best waitress I have EVER had!!! The food isn’t expensive at all and the portions are huge. All around just a great atmosphere, food was so so so good- I had the country fried steak! And I have got to say- it was probably the best I have ever had.... definitely recommend! Got myself a cute tank top from the gift shop before we left. Will definitely be back:)

Yes the wait is long but totally worth it. Reasonably priced food. Great portion sizes and kids stay entertained by play train outside during the wait and all the stuff happening during the dining experience. The fried chicken was great and of course the pass around too. It's always one of those meals you need to prepare for by fasting all day. I had the opportunity to visit Lambert's Cafe while on vacation, and oh boy, what a place this is! They throw dinner rolls at your face, offer pass around sides and have portion sizes that I can only describe as "a-plenty". I ordered the chicken fried steak which was almost perfect except I filled up on the throwed rolls and wasnt able to eat the whole thing in one sitting. The drinks are served in huge Lambert's mugs, and speaking as a Texan, their sweet tea was on point. If I had the capacity to compel you to eat anywhere in Foley, AL, then Lambert's Cafe is the one place you have to try!

A/C was way to cold, shivered whole time when eating. Catfish was decent but hot beef sandwich too salty. Chicken wings too big and not quite done. Chicken pot pie we believe was not homemade. Make sure you have a snack before you go because there is always a wait. I finally gave in and had my first experience at Lambert’s after waiting an hour. We was told an hour and a half, but thankfully for us it was less. We actually went to the outlet mall while we waited. The restaurant will call and text you to let you know that your table is ready. So if you have time, stop on by. My only other issue is the fact that this establishment has a couple of parking spots reserved for military and military flags all over inside, but the don’t offer a military discount. That definitely made us think they was military friendly, but they got us for assuming.

Oh my goodness... The atmosphere is awesome, so welcoming. The decor is so much nicer then cracker barrel. We had such a warm fun loving young lady. Good food, but wasnt actually hot when it arrived to our table. The employees that go around offering "sides" never gave me enough time to say yes or no to what they had, just kept going. I wasnt the only one or table that was frustrated by this. The one thing that i did like was the rolls with their home made applebutter...which i had to buy at the gift shop because that "side" kept skipping my table. I guess if you do get the chance to come here, it's an experience you need to have because they do throw rolls at you.

The rolls are exceptional: soft and fluffy, as well as delicious with butter and their apple butter. Chuck was our server and he was solid. The food, however? I ate the daily special, which was the 10oz. ribeye with shrimp, along with two sides. The shrimp was tremendous -- I had it fried. The ribeye had a nice, grilled flavor but was rather bland! The mashed potatoes were dreadfully bland and under seasoned. The baked potato was overcooked, but still edible once I added multiple packs of butter and salt. It was still a fun experience with the tossed around rolls, but I was largely underwhelmed with the bland grub! I would give it another chance, though, if I'm ever back in the area.

I have not been able to make the stop here in AL but we made it a must to stop in today even with a line out the door! This place is awsome. The food was really good and the price for it was even better. The servers are so nice and our main server was fun to talk to. You can buy a plate and then they come by with various extras that you get for free. It is family owned, if you are in this area you must stop to eat. Great restaurant! We have one in Missouri and it's the same as I remember! The thrown rolls, fixings and the large portion sizes makes this the go to restaurant when you are traveling. Be warned that the wait time can range from 1hr- 2hrs because it is one of the most popular places in the midwest. Service was quick and the staff was polite. Definitely worth the wait.

My wife and I came here for the first time and it was top notch service from start to finish. The Checkin process and waiting area outside is really a great idea. The atmosphere inside makes it an amazing experience. I caught some fresh hot rolls and sampled the pass around and everything was tasty. No complaints here only positive remarks. We had plenty to eat for the price and still had leftovers to take home. We will be back. Please keep up the great work you do.

This is a terrific place and a lower Alabama institution. Think Cracker Barrel but better and local. The throwers rolls are fun for the kids and all the free pass arounds are good except the macaroni and tomato sauce. I had the chicken fried round steak and it was delicious. The kids had a great time. For it to be busy all the time, they serve you pretty quickly and are efficient. Be sure to check out their general store market area as well.

You can buy a plate and then they come by with various extras that you get for free. It is family owned, if you are in this area you must stop to eat. Great restaurant! We have one in Missouri and it's the same as I remember! The thrown rolls, fixings and the large portion sizes makes this the go to restaurant when you are traveling. Be warned that the wait time can range from 1hr- 2hrs because it is one of the most popular places in the midwest. Service was quick and the staff was polite. Definitely worth the wait.

I'm sure this place is reviewed to death, and for a good reason. This place has a history that formed the way they do things today. Staff will bring "pass arounds" (fried okra, fried potatoes, rolls they'll throw across the room, and more at no cost to the diner. Portion sizes are very generous. If you walk away from this place hungry you've done everything wrong. Food is primarily comfort foods (fried chicken, country fried steak, ham dinners, meatloaf, etc..). Don't expect to get anything adventurous or otherwise wierd.

The food was delivered after a long wait. We ended filling up on a couple of rolls and a spoon of fried Okra. My pork chop was fried to a crisp, the boiled cabbage was unappealing, macaroni and tomatoes (??), beans were dried out, and on and on. The table still had food on its surface form the people who ate before us. Overall it was a great disappointment. We are locals who try to frequent the restaurants nearby. Lambert's was moved to our novelty places for visitors who have never been in a Lambert's. That was about three years ago, when we started noticing that Lambert's wasn't the same fun place with decent home cooking. Prices are up in the range of a nicer sitdown mid-priced restaurant. So once again we have sworn off stopping by for a meal, with the aforementioned reason for out of town guests. Now only if they insist on trying Lambert's. DISAPPOINTED!

I've visited all three locations of Lambert's and this location at least twice - always look forward to stopping in, however, the main entrees were very under seasoned this time. If I'm going to wait over an hour to be seated I expect everything else to be near perfect. It also seems that they limit the pass-arounds now, and they don't come by often. Perhaps it was an off day but definitely will make me think twice before stopping by the next time I visit the beach since there are a number of other options in the area. I'd also say, they need more restroom space. Main area is outside and HOT in the summer - waited in line for a good 25 minutes and ended up leaving to go somewhere else.

Although the black eyed peas are one of the included items, I prefer them done. The rolls were okay, my grandson enjoyed catching them. I just don't think the food was as good as the past visits. ALSO......IF, you use your debit card, you get charged an added fee. So, pay with cash or be prepared to see an added fee on your bill.

This is definitely a place to experience! Lots of food choices on the menu and most of the stuff my group had was good. Their portion sizes will leave no one going away hungry. In fact, they come around with bowls of food for everyone to have regardless of what you order. These included giant rolls which they throw to you, fried okra, fried potatoes and onions, cabbage, and more. Personally, I thought the fried potatoes were worth the visit alone! I left with a container of leftovers that would normally be the size of an entire meal elsewhere.

They give you A LOT of food! It's all good. The servers are great. It's a busy place but despite their business, they still provide good service. The only complaint was the shrimp weren't as fresh as I'd expect so close to the coast. My steak was medium well opposed to medium. It wasn't dry and tough so I didn't send it back. Overall, it was am enjoyable experience. It's been years since I've been. They still throw rolls! The customers have a good time here for sure!

Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. It's been years since I've been. They still throw rolls! The customers have a good time here for sure!

A must visit restaurant while in Gulf Shores. Lambert's trademark involves throwing rolls to customers, and trust me, you'll want to catch them because they're delicious! This visit I had the country ham with green beans and potatoes. An excellent choice! Not to mention they bring around additional sides such as okra.

Fantastic as always. The waitress was so nice, as were all the servers. The food was delicious and so much of it! That's my only complaint, that I eat too much!

This is a fun place to stop into. The food was ok, but it’s more of just a fun place. They throw rolls across the restaurant to you, walk around with pots full of side items , so its an experience worth making.

Oh My Gosh!! What a meal! Almost before we could settle at our table, we were thrown our first roll and then it was a steady stream of delectable foods.... Fried okra, macaroni & tomatoes, cabbage, potatoes & onions... And that's before we even ordered! Wow! The food was awesome in a fun, relaxing atmosphere. Service was constant... Never wanted a thing! Can't wait to visit again!

We went at a great time. No wait. The crowd come after we were seated. We did not get offered all the pass around but that's was completely fine that was made up for with the apple butter and roll. Our meals come out in a timely manner, hot fresh and huge servings. Our server was Chuck he was okay, but the guy with the apple butter really did his job. He let us know he had a job to do and he had to do it. He was awesome. There was a another guy that was passing rolls out he was pretty superb, he was kid friendly not only to my son but the other kids as well. So shot out to those 2, whose name I can't remember.
