I went on a Wednesday night for happy hour with my friend. It wasn't too crowded and the atmosphere was good. The waitress, Jacqueline, was great and was very friendly towards us. No one there was pretentious from what I have seen, which I highly appreciated. My friend and I both had $4 draft beer lagers- I forget the name but it was good. I will be coming back next time.

Nice Irish sports bar that plays soccer games. Food was very good and fresh; a little pricy for bar grub but made well enough that it is worth the cost. Waitress was very friendly without being overbearing. Would go back again.

Several levels with a bar on each in which the level of service continually decreases as you go up. Lower bar too packed to get a drink, mid level there were bartenders but they just talk to each other and ignore non regulars, top floors have no bartenders whatsoever. Don't waste your time waiting to pay $8+ for a pint

(All my reviews are overall) Wasn't anywhere on the plans but was absolutely thrilled to find this place. Went in Thanksgiving and they had the Thanksgiving platter. Best turkey by far. Everything on that plate was absolutely delicious! Had TVs showing the Macy's parade and football games. Part bar part restaurant. That being said, was not loud at all. Very nice place and happy to have come across it! All around, amazing!

Tonight at Jack Demsey's was very uncomfortable. I have been there a few times but tonight the staff on the third floor really showed their racism. As soon as they made eye contact with me they played the avoidance game first. Then when they finally took my order I only ordered french fries and I was given the worst fries ever. Moreover they kept watching me like I was going to skip on the bill. Because of that I left no tip on a $5.45 order of

Food was ok but service was terrible and the "Bros" at the table near us were being ridiculous, loud and rude. Waitress seemed more interested in egging them on than actually serving us. Pricey, expected, but the service and atmosphere were unbearable.

Felt like I was back in Ireland. From the decor to the people, great place to have a drink after a work day or enjoying a sports event. Anytime I find myself back in NYC, I'll be coming here. Also, made it better when the bartender with an Irish accent kept saying "are you ok love?".

I absolutely love this bar. I am a HUGE University of Kentucky basketball fan which is what drew me to this spot in the first place, now I go regularly. For those that don't know, this is the official UK bar of Manhattan and the Alumni association holds regular watch parties. The food is well above average for a bar, and the drinks are fairly priced. The bartenders and servers are great too. This is a 4 story bar that somehow keeps a neighborhood feel (with the exception of days like St Patrick's day or other gigantic city days but that doesn't really count)

Friendly staff. We got there late. Kitchen was going to close in 20 minutes. We have been servers before and know how much that sucks, but the staff assured us that it was fine and not an inconvenience for the kitchen staff. We had cheese sticks and French onion soup. Both were good. Beer was a little warm, but I think I had one that was not popular. Guinness was good. A good hole in the wall bar and seemed like a local hangout. If you want a decent watering hole it's not a bad choice. Just don't expect the Ritz...

I'm just happy that they play football (soccer) games in that area, that's the major draw for me. The grub is decent, the prices are decent considering it's midtown and next to the Empire State Building and they've got no one outlet underneath the bar at each seat, that's an especially nice touch. Just don't expect a buyback (they may have never heard of them). *The Jack Demsey's Ale ain't half bad.

My favorite bar in the city. Used to go here at least 3 times a week with my old work crew after work. Bobby is the best bartender. Missed my chance to come by last time I was in town, but won't make that mistake again! Bobby, if you see this I was the white guy with the long hair that would always come in with Norman, Adrian, Michelle, and Myrna! Hope you're well!

This was pretty lack luster. Just came in for some beer and nachos, by all means an easy order. Our "black and tan" took 20 mins to come out and were probably just Guinness. Our nachos were burned, nevermind the haphazard assembly. Our server knew it was bad, to the point where she asked "do the nachos taste better than they look?" why would it be brought out then? Adding insult to injury 3 beers and nachos came out to $53.

Jack Demsey’s is one of the best places to go with friends to watch sports games and enjoy drinks while you having a great time. You can also throw parties and appetizers are nice and fresh. Not the best soccer bar out there. We watch Colombia -Poland World Cup match and the sound was terrible. Food options were mediocre and we over heard one of the serves tell a girl that was gluten free to order a salad because they didn’t have any options for her. This place gets a free star because I can watch my beloved Kentucky Wildcats here when I'm in the city. Typically it is OK service and palatable food. This year, however, it was kind of a disaster. There was one server for our floor, which was totally packed. It was difficult to get drinks, and my wife's drink came out completely wrong when it did come out. The sandwich I had was essentially frozen chicken tenders heated to a lukewarm and put on bread. It was terrible. If you're going here for a game, do yourself a favor and leave enough time to eat somewhere else on your way over, and expect little in drink service while you're there.

Was recently in NY and we just happened to come across this place and it was so good I had the wings and the macaroni and cheese and it they were delicious. The waitress that helped us out was super nice as well and on top of things. Definitely recommend eating there and hope to go back one day.

Won't be back... waitress was inattentive and added a 20% gratuity that she did not deserve. I couldn't get her attention to order all night because she was too busy sulking on her cell phone and ignoring tables, so my check could have been much higher but due to her lack of attention she lost not only my order, but two large tables of hubgry people unable to order food or beverages who all paid an additional 20% gratuity. As a bartender I was disgusted. I actually have to work for my tips.

This was a Friday night school trip dinner venue and we had a limited menu. Reservations had been made and our tables were ready when we arrived. I will never understand why they would only have one server for a group of over 40 people. Because of this, you understand how the level of service we received would suffer... greatly. Beverages (in red Solo cups) took forever! The food came out reasonably quick and was pretty hot, however, they chicken tenders we're very over cooked. Most of the kids in our group ordered them and not a one of the kids are more than one, even after a full afternoon of tromping thru Central Park. They were famished and left this Jack Demsey's still hungry. Many adults ordered the cheese burger and which were served very pink in the middle. Of the 7 children and adults in our sub-group, 6 had severe bubbly-gut and diarrhea within an hour. Thank heavens for fast elevators and lots of bathrooms at the Empire State Building!!!

My boyfriend and his friends are die hard wrestling fans so we mistakenly thought this would be the ideal place to go. I was clearly wrong. One of my mans friends had mentioned he was charged double and I chalked it up to a crazy night. And it happened the following event now with my mans card. So I wonder if this establishment is taking advantage of fans and charging double or charged us multiple times being the only people of color in the bar ?

Jack Demsey's is a cute, convenient bar in the 33rd/34th street area (close to the PATH, subways & shopping.) Three of us last Nov. decided to stop on in and have some food and drinks there. The place was nicely decorated for the holidays, clean and well kept. Unfortunately I only ordered the French Onion Soup that night but the other dishes on the menu definitely piqued my interest so I'll be back when I'm in the area. My soup was good. My boyfriend enjoyed his shepherd's pie and my other friend enjoyed the dishes she ordered as well. The service was good.

I love this bar. The bartenders are super chill, and the selection is great. They have Magners on tap and Powers whiskey. That goes far with me :-) Also, this is an ideal place to watch sporting events--especially UFC and boxing. The establishment is named after boxing legend, Jack Dempsey.

Great bar that is walking distance from MSG but far enough away that it is not over crowded when there is an event on. The food is pub food, nothing spectacular, just regular pub food. I sat at the bar, service was I little slow though that was likely due to it being busy. I would recommend this place for a quick beer and dinner but not necessarily a destination to seek out.
