Great intimate venue, convenient access to the bar while the band is playing. Bar tenders were very nice, helpful and friendly. Prices are not over inflated like they are at so many other venues. Band we saw played an acoustic set as well as their normal metal sound and the sound was great for both. Will definitely be going back to see other acts in the future.

I love this venue. I've been here a dozen times. You can see some top notch bands for a great price. You can see the stage from anywhere in the place. It's basically standing room only though. Although there are tables and chairs upstairs, they are normally reserved. They have great food away the grill too.

Great intimate venue in downtown Birmingham. A little stuffy at sold-out shows. Needs another bar besides the main one. That being said, the main bar is quite large and wraps around in almost a complete circle, so the line is never too bad.

Will definitely continue to attend events here and use for more private events in the future. I have always had a great time at Iron City. It can get crowded at times, but that’s to be expected with the great artists they have performing here on a regular basis. I love the upstairs vip option overlooking the stage and outdoor smoking patio! I don’t smoke so I love not having to breath in smoke the whole time. The bathrooms are super nice, clean, and large. Also, I’ve always felt safe here because they have extra security and Birmingham police officers on duty; especially at bigger events/artists.

Nice place for live music. Wish there was more seating. Almost entirely standing room only. Went back for the monthly brunch and was disappointed. Food was not worth the trip, but the atmosphere and live entertainment were good. Advertised grits were a no show. Bummer.

Sure it's a little smaller than other places but its so amazing to be able to share such an amazing experience with tons of other people. This venue is my all time favorite to come to! Every time an artist is coming to town I always hope they are playing at Iron City. Great staff, great view from anywhere in the place. Free standing or you can purchase a reservation for seating up top. Smoking area and restrooms are a few steps away and easy access.

Took my daughter to Iron City for a concert she wanted to see. We arrived two hours early because I have a disability that causes debilitating pain in both feet so we needed to try to get in as soon as possible due to the pain. We arrived and the line was already wrapped around the block. It took us two hours to get to the door and I was in so much pain all I could think that I'll be alright as soon as I get inside, then I can sit down. I was already pouring of sweat and nauseous from the pain as we got in the door. I looked around and the maybe 12 tables in the entire place of course were already full, no seats anywhere. The only place I could see to sit was a stage to the right of of me but it was already full of people, the floor around the walls were completely full of people. I did have to just sit in the middle of the floor but people kept running into me or stepped on me. I finally had to leave 15 minutes after entering the building due to pain. I paid a lot of money to sit in my car in Birmingham for a couple of hours in extreme pain. I absolutely hate this place, there is no accommodation for people with disabilities. Would not recommend this venue to anyone since they do not have they obviously could care less about the needs of anyone with disabilities or the need accommodate them.

We love this venue!!! They offer such an easy in and out to the shows. Atmosphere is super laid back and if you go early you can have some options as to where you want to stand for the show. We (Meta Fitness Studio) have used Iron City for our "New Year, New You" fundraiser for 6 years and each and every year, it seems to get better. The venue is fantastic and is always a great setting for our event, but what makes this place so special is the people that make it work. Everyone involved, the planners, the lighting, sound, bartenders, cleanup crew...EVERYONE involved is professional, courteous, and committed to doing the job right. Iron City was an absolutely amazing venue for our wedding and reception. The building itself has a natural beauty that gives great life to the space. The space itself allowed us to flow from ceremony to cocktails to dinner and dancing for >150 people in a spacious yet intimate space. Asides from the marriage itself, the best part of Iron City was working with Michelle. From the initial walkthrough to the day of, Michelle and her team put so much effort into helping make your wedding dreams come to life. Michelle and her assistant Arielle are a dynamic duo that made the entire planning process and day of shenanigans completely stress-free. If you want a wedding with great food, local brews, historical charm, and options to meet any and all budgets then give Michelle a call. I can’t recommend this venue highly enough!

Excellent room. I was in town and saw The Wood Brothers a few nights back. Great sound, very crisp, not too loud. You can tell they put a lot of forethought into the audio engineering. An even better selection of locally brewed beers. Will definitely be back for another show some time. Well done, Birmingham.

Drove in from Atlanta to see a show here. For the size of the venue, I found the security presence was a bit ridiculous. Several times during the show an orange shirt pushed through the (packed) crowd, to do, I'm not sure what. This was a reggae/jam band, not exactly rowdy drunks. Otherwise beautiful venue, but sadly, I won't be back.

Intimate venue setting. Two levels. I prefer front stage right. Great view, not on the main floor. Sound is incredible. Nice layout and design. Tickets are always reasonably priced. I cannot emphasize how incredible the sound is. We’ve seen Yelawolf. And, Disturbed with Sevendust; completely different genres. Yet, the sound projects perfectly. What I love about Iron City, is the “All” ages concerts. Plenty of them. Unlike other major cities, where it’s 18 or 21+. Plenty of parking, in nearby lots and street.

Incredible place! The atmosphere is really chill. The food is unbelievable! The cook, Josh, is on his cooking game! I witnessed a customer, going on and on to Josh about the cured steak. He asked him to come out of the kitchen to shake his hand! The guy was a restaurant guru and he posted pics of the plated food on his Instagram Account. I haven't checked out the venue side but I've heard amazing things! I do know some really well-known bands play there and it's a great venue to rent for parties. I highly recommend!

Not a bad place for a show. Big stage and a great sound. My review was good, but when I looked at my banking and I was charged $10 on my card instead of the $6 in which I was told for a coke and water it really let me down. If I didn't have tickets for two upcoming shows, I would definitely not be going back. I do not know the bartenders name, but he is definitely a no class loser.

A bit crowded for the World Cup Final and it wasn't even as crazy as it gets for football games. Omelette bar was a great idea, however, it took over 50 minutes to get the omelette made because only 1 chef was working off of 3 skillets. The venue is very pretty, though, and very clean, and bar staff were very sweet to us.

I've been to several concerts here since they opened. Been in the pit (Die Antwoord) and up in the "loft" (FFDP/Avatar). It's not a huge place, but I've enjoyed every concert there. If you can, and are old like me, get up front in the loft. DO NOT pay extra for loft seats if they aren't on the rail. You won't be able to see. DO go early so you can eat at the attached restaurant. Good stuff. Downtown so parking isn't easy, but not horrid either.

Iron City was an AMAZING venue for our wedding and reception. It exceeded our exceptions in every category. Iron City has a great space that allows for a large wedding guest list, a cocktail hour where our guests could enjoy drinks and appetizers while the main area was flipped from wedding to reception, and spacious dance floor while still offering plenty of high boy tables and seating. Michelle and her assistant Arielle are total wedding pros. They did everything to ensure our wedding day ran smoothly from the rehearsal the day beforehand to the sparkler exit at the end of the night. During our food tasting, we personally met the chef who made recommendations to ensure our whole guest list would be satisfied on our budget. As you can see, each aspect of Iron City is built for your perfect wedding venue. I could not recommend this venue highly enough!

Awesome venue. Hard to believe the names that have come through there, just thus far. Space is limited, so it creates a very intimate setting. The only downfall, if you want to sit down -anywhere, at any point- you can only do it in the mezzanine, and its $75 a person. Drinks are fair priced, especially for a venue like that. Can't wait to catch as many shows as possible at iron city.

The star studded staff makes a very good venue a great one, and Iron City is epic. Better bar options for less $ than any other local venue. Extremely helpful box office staff. One of Birmingham's better restaurants. Not to mention, everyone that's works there is beautiful. I'm sure they're nice, but I'm saying these people are attractive. I'll def be back as often as I can be. Don't hesitate. Buy your tickets and come hang out with these hotties!

Have been here a few times for different events. I really like this place and gave it 4 stars only because of the lack of lighting on the stairs. It was kind of scary having to traverse staircases in absolute darkness. The staff obviously realized there was some element of danger here because after my dad said something (he's 70) they started keeping the stairs illuminated with flashlights. Definitely needs to be fixed. I have a hard time believing no one has been hurt yet.

Great venue. Sound engineers knew what they were doing and Chvrches put on a fantastic show! If you’re vertically challenged like myself, general admission shows tend to be frustrating. The area we were standing at is about 5 feet or so above the pit area that’s directly in front of the stage. There was a guard rail we were able to lean against and I had an unobstructed view! The bartenders were very prompt and friendly even though I had overheard security say there were about 1100 people in attendance. Restrooms (and the whole venue really) were surprisingly clean as well. It wasn’t hot either. For that many people, you’d expect the a/c to struggle, but we were comfortable.

The venue is great but parking can be at a premium. Never again will I park at the LIV parking facility at 5th ave 22nd street. I have always used this lot and the last two times I had trouble with the parking collection. Last night I finally got the machine to take cash but it would not give me a receipt and my truck was towed which cost me an additional 166.00. Parking Enforcement Systems, Inc. is a scam and they are laying wait to snatch your vehicle. I would skip and event if I had no other place to park.

This was the last time I will ever visit Iron City. We went to see Morgan Wallen tonight and the security grabbed my sister and threw her outside (in the freezing cold without a jacket). She was doing absolutely nothing wrong. Security said she had washed her x’s off her hands even though they were still clearly there. They had faded some, but still very visible, even after she had washed her hands in the bathroom. She also still had her white bracelet on & you could tell is hadn’t been tampered with. I guess the bracelet in tact meant nothing. The security would not even let her come get me, or allowed to wait inside until I was able to find her. Again, an under age girl on the street with no jacket or way to come get me. This was extremely harsh!! My husband and I had to leave (once we realized what had happened) because of your inconsiderate policy of ‘guilty before proven innocent’. My husband is a gulf war veteran and a local business owner & yet his word meant nothing to the police officers there! They said they were just enforcing Iron City’s policy. We have never even allowed my sister to drink underage in the privacy of our own home, let alone out in public. Nor does she have any ambition to do so. I mean, she was basically snatched like a criminal as we were returning from the bathroom. We didn’t even get to hear Morgan Waller’s first song, which is the whole reason we came there in the first place. We are extremely disappointed in the way we were treated tonight, and plan to never return there. Shame on you Iron City for stereotyping young adults who sincerely did nothing wrong!!!

This place is a gem. The staff are friendly and always willing to engage and answer questions. The venue is clean. It has this classic look to it. The best part is the sound. I've seen numorous acts here and the sound quality has been the best I've ever heard; think the depth of an arena but the crisp clarity of a chapel. Can't wait for my next visit.

Great venue! lots of space. With a large crowd multiple areas for good view of the stage even if you are vertically challenged like me( 5'2 in)

as far as a music venue, it's awesome. Acoustics are good and the band sits up on the stage which is higher than the audience and makes it possible for everyone to see. Easy to get in and the bartenders gave quick service.

Honestly this is such an amazing venue. It's never overly crowded it's always clean and it is just very aesthetically pleasing in generally. Went to see Arlie and Coin and where they put the merch worked so much better this time.
