When visiting HSV, this is definitely a must! I loved the atmosphere, service and food. The restaurant is cozy, comfortable and relaxing. Sleek, dark wood and plush seating made for a physically comfortable and appealing atmosphere. It wasn't extremely busy, but I noticed that other diners sitting close to me couldn't hear my conversation. I couldn't hear theirs either. I don't know about you: but a restaurant that amplifies sound is a no-go for me. My waiter was extremely friendly and patient with my inquiries regarding the menu selections. Due to this, I trusted his recommendations. I ordered the firecracker shrimp and Cajun shrimp pasta. It was absolutely phenomenal! The serving sizes are extremely generous, so much so that what I had left amounted to another complete meal! He asked if I wanted desert and I took bread pudding to go. What can I say? It was vacation, so I decided to indulge. This is DEFINITELY a must have for lunch or dinner when I am in town! I may try other menu items but the food I had was so delicious I will have a hard time going there and skipping the shrimp selections! But the food was so good, it'd be a shame not to explore the rest of the menu.

My husband and I just celebrated our 37th anniversary at Grille 29 and the whole experience was wonderful from beginning to end. Our meals were to die for and all of the staff that we interacted with were very pleasant and friendly. This was our first time eating at this establishment and we are definitely going back. I was impressed with Grille 29, The atmosphere was very pleasant and there was plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Asyia was our server and she did an excellent job of getting us what we wanted and needed. I had the salmon and it was really good. The food was reasonably priced as well. There are so many little shops in this area and this is a good place to stop in for lunch or dinner.

4 to 5 stars for the dinner menu, but the new Sunday brunch menu, not so much. Very limited selection. Hope they expand it a bit, but will not be back for brunch until it improves. Great staff, hope they will ride out this decision.

There's no way this place has 4 1/2 stars. My wife and I made reservations for a nice seat for our anniversary and they stuck us in the bar away from the window in a two top with a support beam in the middle of it. The place was at 30 % capacity. We asked and were moved to a window seat of which there were many open. The food was very average, maybe a three star on that. I've eaten there more than once and found the food and service has been average on every occasion. I would not go back.

Beautiful restaurant, but mostly about appearance.. We arrived at 5:30 and were seated on the heated patio even though there were 5 tables inside that remained empty.even as we were leaving. The server did a great job. However the best part of the meal was the bread and the wine. Both of our meals were quite bland. Our total was $84 before tip without appetizers, salads, or desserts.

Very disappointed... I’ve been here several times and just recently they changed their menu. Food does not has the same great quality as it use to. The new menu isn’t as good and there was a strand of hair or white piece of thin string in my protein.. it seemed to have been cooked with the protein. The garlic mashed potatoes weren’t the same either. They tasted like regular mashed potatoes with no type of seasoning. Seems like this new menu isn’t what they expected. Is there a new chef as well? We won’t be back..

We are not locals here, just came here for our 7th wedding anniversary. So I searched for a fine dining restaurant, so I came acrossed Grill 29. So excited for our dinner, unfortunately I was very disappointed with our food. We ordered hot crab dip for appetizer it turned out the crab is old, there is a strong smell on it. My entrée was stuffed scallops with crab meat and grits. Unfortunately the crab meat on my dip was the same stuffing on my scallops, and its too salty. My husband 's steak was so stringy, his sticky rice was half cooked. I saw 1 fly swooping around our table. And I cant hardly drink their water ,there's that's after taste. The bill was $125+tip. I dont think so it's a fine dining.

The restaurant is very nice and the service was exceptional! The lamb meatballs were excellent and I would recommend them as a appetizer. On the other hand, I wouldn't order the shrimp and grits with the andouille sausage gravy. It is way too greasy and I think instant grits were used. The crusted tuna was cooked perfectly and another big hit at our table. Overall, the dining experience was great and we had a good time.

My husband and I enjoyed our "linner" - lunch/dinner. A little pricey as usual, but well worth the expense. I have the salmon and my husband had the grouper. For dessert we enjoyed the cheesecake and souffle. Topped it off with an espresso and cappuccino. A special occasion location for sure!

My husband and I went here for a date night as I always heard great things about it, unfortunately I was not impressed. It wasn't busy when we arrived yet it took forever to receive our drinks the both I was sitting on was ripped and stained which I do not expect from an establishment representing itself upper class. I had the sea food Mac and cheese and it tasted like watered down fish cheese sauce not in a good way. We have also ordered Calamari as an appetizer and the waiter forgot about it, when it finally came there were more banana peppers fried then actual calmari, we asked about it and the waiter shrugged it off and said that's how we make it here. Well I didn't order fried peppers so he took it away but it also stayed on the bill. My husband and I left hungry and disappointed and will definitely not be returning or recommending this "grille".

Coming from another city in the southeast, I feel I can bring an outsiders perspective on the dining here in Huntsville. At its price point, I would say that the service, food quality and taste is average to below average. Not excellent and not necessarily bad. Solid average. I am a little surprised at the fanfare given the quality. At the price point, you should expect locally sourced, pasture raised meats. I guess I am spoiled from living in a city with a much stronger fine dining scene in which restaurants must work harder to maintain its customers. A quality fine dining restaurant in Providence would potentially eliminate this restaurant. This is my honest take on Grille 29.

I have taken my wife here twice. Once for our wedding anniversary, and again this evening for Valentines Day, and this place is one of the best I’ve been to! The service has been wonderful each time, and the food has been top notch! From the appetizers, to the desserts. What else makes it awesome... I have diverticulitis, and it doesnt matter where I eat most of the time, I am always in pain after eating, with the exception of Grille 29! I have never felt any pain ever after eating here, so I would say with anyone who suffers like I do.... it’s the perfect date spot, you can enjoy your time together, and not have to worry about anything later!!!! I recommend this place to anyone, and everyone!!

Not sure why but Grill 29 is not what what it use to be. A lot of items that we use to order are no longer available which is disappointing. They also remove the sides from the menu and you have to search through the other entrees descriptions to see what sides are available. The NY strip that I ordered was not choice cut and was full of gristle. Not what you expect for the price we paid. Eventhough the service was good it will be a while before we return.

At first, I thought I was going to have to salt and pepper them and after I tried them, I was blown away by the flavor of the cheesy eggs. The steak was cooked to perfection and was allowed the adequate amount of time to rest before being served. Very juicy and flavorful. You won't even need steak sauce. The potatoes are always perfect.

For the price, I expect better. It's almost impossible to spend less than $50 per seat here. Last time I went my $38 steak was gristly. I sent it back, and the replacement was gristly. I wasn't about to send it back a second time and get it spit in.

Started off a little bumpy when we got seated and no one came to the table. Then Jennifer jumped into action and proved why Grill 29 is one of my favorite places to entertain clients or take the wife to dinner. The food was great as usual. Then Jennifer brought a free dessert. Then management comped our dinner completely. We never complained they just wanted us to know they appreciate our business. Well you now have our business forever. Thank you for a great start to the new year.

Restaurant was ONLY moderately busy... After being seated, the server came out said a few words, let us know she would bring us water, and without letting us get a word out walked away... No biggie, until someone else set the waters down, and our server was nowhere to be found for a excessive amount of time... At that point politely and quietly, I asked another staff member if we could get a server that was not so busy... The manager made his way to us, at the same time so did the server with some bread... She then proceeded to question and critique what we were ordering. I politely let her know that we appreciated the advice, but we’d like to go ahead and get the order we placed... The manager came back and asked if everything was all right, we said no sweat we have already put in our order. He then without us wanting or asking for anything, offered to comp our appetizer… Our server during the dinner ONLY filled my wife’s water once, and again very boldly tried to critiqued the beverage I asked for... The whole time she practiced being clairvoyant, and assumed what we would “need” next not what we’re actually saying... We were about to ask for our bill, but once again she spoke over us put down a dessert menu, and disappeared for another 20 minutes... Finally we got her attention, handed her our card, and asked for a carry-out container. ONCE AGAIN she told us what she thought we should do, not what we asked for! She brought the bill with the the appetizer the manager “comp” still as a charge, but no sweat we ate it and enjoyed it. We paid the bill in full with a more than fair high percentage tip, that was NOT deserved; we have both been in their shoes, but with a much better attitude and service for our guests. There are plenty of establishments that will appreciate our business and not judge a book by its cover...

I really wanted to love this place. My father in law took us out for my husband's birthday. The restuarant is nice and the entrees are around 30 bucks a piece so you expect it to be great. It took an hour for our food and the place was not slammed. The food was cold when it was served and by no means worth the price. It was so bland and just not good.We rarely saw our server and when we did he was asking if we wanted dessert. We didn't lol. We were totally disappointed. There were 5 of us and we had an appetizer. Our ticket was over 170.00 and for that your experience should be a good one. We won't be going back. Sure hope whatever has changed gets resolved so others enjoy their visit.

In my Review I have uploaded the most recent menu of the restaurant. It's Easter and we had a reservation for 5:30pm and sat out on the patio. We were seated immediately, and our server was even nice enough to level our table when it was canting left and right. The food came to the table immediately, and it smelled and tasted fantastic. Our waiter was swift and very nice. It's pricey, but its worth it.

The potatoes were bland and room temp. Scallops were good. Our server, Kathy, was great. But, given the choice of Grille 29 or Connors or Texas de Brazil or.... any other I'd choose the other than Grille 29.

This is a really nice upscale steakhouse. Not the kind of place I would normally eat, but my friend had a gift card. I went here with a large party of 12 or so we often do brunches around town on the weekends. The atmosphere was great, quite, professional. My food was great I had steak and eggs I had absolutely no problem at all. My guest was satisfied as well and everyone enjoyed their dish. The mimosas was also decently priced I think I had at least three during the occasion. I will come back here again Complements to the staff and cooks.

I've been to Grille 29 several times, the last being Saturday for dinner. As usual, the service was exceptional. The food was good, too, but nothing to write home about. That plus the fact that the menu is pretty much the same as it was 15 years ago, about the first time I ate here, is the reason why I gave it only three stars. The food has become stagnant and uninteresting, so I encourage the chef to get out of his/her box and really create a new/interesting menu. Otherwise, I don't see myself going back here, and will find other higher end restaurants to patronize.

We went for our anniversary and the service was very professional. My husband had the island ribeye and I had the grouper. We both was extremely satisfied. If u get the chance try the cherry smoke. It is a delicious drink. I usually don't drink anything. But it was a special occasion. I urge you to try this restaurant.....u will b back.

Coming from the gulf coast, it has been hard fulfilling the taste for good seafood. When I came here, I noticed that they had shrimp and grits. The thought of shrimp and grits from a restaurant like this excited me, so I ordered it. I've never had shrimp and grits quite like what was delivered. It is not the kind of shrimp and grits your mom may cook one morning, with fried, greasy goodness. It was upscale, with blackened shrimp, andouille tasso gravy, and cheese grits. This was a surprise, but a pleasant one, and I would definitely recommend it to someone who's never had it before. On top of the good food, the waiter was very kind and even took pictures of me, my friends, and our special guest. Every time I come here I'm never disappointed. Easiest 5/5 I've given.

I went a bit different with Asian short ribs described as "5spice blend". It tasted like curry to me. Meat was super tender but curry has a distinct taste. It was just OK to me because I'm not a curry fan. Had the menu said anything about curry I would have chosen otherwise. Wife got a filet Mignon and it was very good. When the food arrived they immediately hit us with a dessert menu. Sitting there wanting to take the first bite of my dinner I remained polite to sit there and listen as she went through 3-5 detailed dessert descriptions.. Let me eat some first before you come pushing dessert. 2of us, no alcohol, no appetizer or dessert, $75+ tip. I won't go back

This is a great restaurant and I feel that it is better than Conners. Most of the staff are able to prepare specialty side items by request and it is excellent. The atmosphere is great and if you are having a party or a private dinner than this place is for you. The Ahi appetizer is great you’ll thank me later for trying it!

Made reservations for Sunday brunch. Arrive at the reserved time told it would be a 15 min wait for our table or we could be seated on the patio immediately. Wait for over 15 minutes to be seated on the patio. When we did get seated our table was a chair short and had a bus tray on a dirty table. Waited for an additional chair and eating utensils. Our server was unenthusiastic at best. My husband had to order his bloody Mary 2 times before he got it, and it was watered down from the ice melting. My son and I had to ask for drink refreshes 2 times. Husband ordered another bloody Mary and after the 3rd time asking for it, we had finished our meal, so he told them to forget it. I asked for ketchup when my meal was brought and after the second time asking, just ate my potatoes without it. Food was fine but the rest was piss poor service.

It's 5 star for a reason. I believe my waiter was Eddie and he was very patient with our group of 8. We weren't in a hurry to leave after eating, but they had plenty of tables, so no big deal. I could see him wanting to clear the table as we sat there, and as a past fine dining waiter, I understand. He did take some unused items from the table as I would expect. He did a great job and I commend him. Everyone enjoyed their food, so kudos to the kitchen. We too often judge the restaurant, when we forget the people that take of our outing, whatever that is. There have been lots of menu changes over the years, but their current one really has great variety to it. Loved their new lamb meatballs and their Asian short rib was incredible, much better than their former take on the dish. Their desserts, as always did not disappoint. As usual they were also very accommodating to our two kids. Only thing I would like to see more of is maybe a few more appetizers, prime steak selections, and maybe my all time favorite a NYC style porterhouse for 2, or even a prime rib.

I have been here before for company functions and had a great time...since I wasn't paying for it. I decide to come here for my birthday...I was prior military and have eaten in restaurants around the world, and I don't mind paying more for great food or an experience. Not the case here. I order Grilled Scallops and Shrimp ($22.00). I got one skewer with literally 2 small scallops and 4 shrimp with a scoop or rice and bok choy. The food was good and atomosphere was good, but definitely not worth it. If your boss is picking up the tag...Bingo...if you're paying for it, look elsewhere!

It's what I expected, overpriced food on a fancy plate. I treat any occasion to go out to eat as a luxury. I can go to the grocery store and pick up whatever and cook a great meal. However, when I decide to go out and have a meal prepared for me I don't believe I am wrong for thinking it should be above average. My husband and I ordered the seafood mac ($18 each) and I believe it could have been better. It seemed watery and the amount of seafood was disappointing. My kids both ordered the fish and chips ($15 each) and they were both disappointed. The half lemon slices were bigger than the 2 pieces of fish they got, and the fries were limp and soggy. My daughter told us it was like eating at a Long John Silvers. The staff were friendly and helpful and ambiance is nice but we will not be returning.

The General Manager was not accommodating at all !!! We were told the wait time was 2hrs before we could be seated.While waiting we notice the back area had no one seating for that entire time frame. Mind you we waited for over 1hour with a Group of 7 ppl you would think they would've wanted the money! I guess not so we left. Went to Outback Steakhouse receive top- notch customer service and the FOOD was DELICIOUS! AT OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE that is!!!!

Wait staff was slow. Appetizers of lamb meat ball and calamari were really good. I lived the meatballs. We had a few specialty cocktails that were delightful. Bread came almost at the same time as dinner. And there was not one water refill. Dinner were the Asian Spare Ribs and Oscar Grouper. The ribs did not taste Asian at all and were actually more if a pot roast. A very good pot roast, but still just pot roast. Had it been served with a cauliflower mash and more gravy, it would have been fantastic! The grouper was very good. Cooked nicely and the grits went very well wit the asparagus! I will go back and I can't wait to try other things on the menu.
