Good Ol' Boys was not all that good per this old boy. The salad bar was nice and the side items were okay. But my steak was tough and laced with gristle. The meat was also over cooked -- well done instead of medium as requested. And this has been a repeat issue at this restaurant. They either over or under cook their steaks. There were five of us dining and no one in our party was overly impressed with their meal. May have to look elsewhere for a good steak dinner.

Everything was great... I don't remember the young lady's name... she did a great job taking care of all of her tables... this a reminder for large groups: the young lady that was serving us was also taking care of a large family ...they left a $10 tip on their table ... as they we paying for their meal... the man didn't realize that the tip was already included ... he instructed the cashier to go get the $10 back from the waitress... we were shocked that he did that but that's ok we gave her a tip to make up for his rudeness... good luck to that young lady that is going to college.

It took nearly an hour and a half from the time we ordered for our food to arrive. When I spoke to the manager about it she told me that I should have gone to Taco Bell. It was a busy night and the 20 minute wait for a table was OK. The waitress was good. If they had told me it would take nearly 90 minutes to get my order I could have gone somewhere else.

I have gone to this place since I was a baby. This is a great family place to come to. Every Tuesday night they have live music. They have a salad bar. Large menu. Kids menu. They have a fish tank. They have a waiting area and a kids play area. Really amazing people there. I would really recommend this place. It is also I nice place to come alone. Because this is a friendly place.

I would give the restaurant 3.5 stars mainly for the prices which are a little too high for the quality food. Generally they are thought of as one of the best places in Auburn but the food is good but not super great, and overall too expensive. Two people dinner and an appetizer with tip is about $40 minimum. The service is always friendly but usually takes a long time during peak hours. They are also open odd days and times so before you are going out there check the open hours.

Best value steak ever! Unlimited Salad wagon plus steak include side was just $30. They probably use good meat. The grilled flavor was great and juicy as well. Slightly over cooked but acceptable. southern concept of this restaurant is well harmonized with foods.

We went there on unicorn night Thought it would be fun to bring the niece and nephew Thought it was ridiculous to pay $5 Per child just to pet a small horse but the kids like that so I was OK with that so we decided to order dinner They told us 20 minute Wait to sit down I'm OK with that that's usually the amount of time it takes to sit down in a restaurant. Placed our order again dining Room was less than half full now hour and 10 minutes to get our meal. One thing that really grossed me out was when our waitress was taking our order and a light yellow mucous ran from her nose And just passed her bottom lip it reminded me of a yo yo when she snorted it back in and she snorted it back in Now I've got a strong stomach I didn't say anything to anybody else so I figured well I'll just orderThe nieces and nephews had chicken fingers everything was cold when it came out I ordered a steak it was terrible Golden Corral had better slices of meat But don't let me stop you from going there but I can tell you this we will never ever return

if you are looking for high end culinary masterpieces in the auburn/opelika area , this is not the place...buuuut...if you want good down home cooking with sincere southern hospitality, look no further than good ole boys. not a varied menu, but they don't need it to be. they execute on all the things that matter. and those things are sweet tea, baked potatoes, steak, salad bar, and cobbler. they serve up beef from cattle located right in the middle of Gods country (Lee county).not pretentious. it's just the real deal.

Friendly staff & really good food!! I'm not from Auburn & really didn't know what to expect when pulling into the parking lot. My family and I almost pulled back out, but so glad we decided to try it out!! I've never been in any eating establishment where the workers were soooo nice........and the food was great!! Would have given 5 stars, but the table was a little sticky!!

Great shrimp! Ever one who got the whole catfish and one who got the catfish fillet thought it was good. Each plates whole catfish ranged in different sizes but everyone was okay with that. (Maybe that's usual). Hushpuppies were good, but the salad bar didn't have any good looking lettuce on it, and we were the first to go to the salad bar when they opened. I didn't understand that at all. Overall it was very good.

Looking for something different in the Auburn area and stumbled across this jewel! There were four guests in our party. We all ordered different entrees, and two ordered dessert. This was good food, reasonably priced, with great service. We were there about 5:15 on a Thursday evening. It is well worth the short drive from the University.

Most of the time the food is fantastic, but occasionally steaks will come out tasting a little like liver which makes me think they make not always clean the grill regularly during busy times. Overall a great place to eat though!

Service wasn't fast and the Mac and cheese wasn't anything special at all but the 16oz sirloin cooked medium rare was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Definitely made up for the sub par Mac and cheese and the long wait from ordering to food being delivered to the table (wait was about an hour but we were a large party). The wait staff was also super attentive and did an excellent job getting whatever we needed including keeping drinks full. Would definitely try it again.

A nice family restaurant. My husband and I brought my daughter and her fiance out to eat. We had 4 different appetizers, three of us had a steak dinner and one had a seafood platter. Including a 20% tip, our meal was $157.00 No alchohol is served but the food, price and service was very good. This was our first time here after hearing about it from friends, this is their favorite place to eat. It's a bit out of the way but it is worth it. We will definitely return in the near future.

So I decided to try something new and order some food from this place and I wasn’t satisfied at all with the product, I got the seafood platter which I thought came with oysters as the online menu displayed, I checked my food when I got home because I was in a rush and look inside and there were no oysters, I also got potato wedges which look as if I had a half of baked potatoes. I called the restaurant to asked if they forgot my oysters and they told me they haven’t sold oysters for a long time so u didn’t think to update your online menu so people who may want oysters would know. On top of that none of the food had any type of season whatsoever. Only thing was good was the sweet tea but rest assure I would not be returning at all. They didn’t even offer a refund or anything, just next time I need to come grab a to go menu. UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!

This place is fun and great for families. Everytime we have been, it has not let us down. Steaks are great, service is super friendly and it is clean! Well worth stepping out of the city for this lil spot in the country. They have a great little spot for the kids to play if you have to wait for your table. We had a party of 12 and they handled us just fine!

This place was stunning! When you get a booth by the window you have the chance of seeing some neighboring horses in the field. The service was outstanding, everyone very pleasant to interact with. I had the burger cooked to description with incredible taste and very juicy. My husband had the catfish and I couldn't get him to put the fork down it was so good! I only wish we lived closer to eat here again.

This place has been a favorite since childhood. Ive loved their food, being homemade right from the backyard. They have a fresh "salad wagon" (salad bar) and everything there is fresh, delicious, and amazing. Very comfy spacious sitting area, and great kids area at the front during long waits (never really long.) I ordered a blackened Salmon, usually get a nice steak but today I wanted to get their amazing fresh seafood. Mac n cheese side and its the creamiest ive ever had. Quite delicious. (Btw try the dessert, very rich and delicious)

Not sure about all the others who ate there but my experience didn't match any of the good reviews. All the side dishes were clearly prepared from frozen products (except the baked potatoes) and my steak needed a chainsaw to be cut. I asked for it to be cooked medium and it arrived medium well. My husband ordered a Ribeye but we are certain they brought him a strip steak like mine. His was cooked medium not medium rare. I will say the seasoning on the steaks was good, but that's about it. The servers were super nice and the place was clean, but you had to pay extra for the salad bar if you wanted a side salad with your steak and Ruby Tuesday's has a better salad bar for sure (and RT will also cook your burger to temp - I asked about that here and received a blank look - that provided all the answer I needed). My husband & I like to find non-chain restaurants and try to support local merchants, but I just can't support this one. With all the local farm resources, I really expected better.

I used to love this restaurant. But tonight was very very disappointing. Nectarines fro. The salad bar was bad (I am 100% sure it wasn't fresh). I told my waitress that it was bad and she didn't give me any feedback on it. Later when i looked at the salad bar, the whole container was removed. When I paid my bill to the cashier, I said one more time that the nectarines were bad and everything else was good. Once again the cashier didn't apologize nor give me any kind of feedback on it. I paid for the salad bar, didn't get what I paid for, had spoiled nectarines, and diidnt get apologized. I am just disappointed that the staff wasn't professional about handling this kind of situation. Never coming back...
