We wanted to try Korean BBQ and this looked interesting. Nice atmosphere. The cocktails are good (though the fruit garnish was visibly dried out). My friends and I each ordered our own dinners, as the specials "for 2" or "for 3" weren't the meat choices we wanted and the "for 3" one was grossly overpriced. We had 2 sushi rolls and some gyoza as appetizers. Good, but not as good as I expected from the pics. The most disappointing part was the BBQ wasn't turned on before the food arrived and the waitress slopped my entire plate of steak onto the cooking surface which meant the rest of the food couldn't be cooked. She offered to cook the other food on a different table. Which was odd and confusing, as the experience is you should cook it yourself. She also took the plate my meat came on, so we couldn't take any off. We made it work by piling the meat up on one side. But after watching her just hand the plates to other tables, I realized she just messed ours up. Would have been nice if she hadn't. The sides brought out for the BBQ (fish cakes, a type of Kim chi, and bean sprouts with a seasame oil sauce) were really good. I might go back and try the BiBimBap, but not the BBQ.

Absolutely amazing food and great atmosphere, my team has made it a tradition to eat here for lunch about every two weeks! we love it!

Good sized portions, service slow. Childs meal came a good 10 -15 min after adults. Food a little lacking in flavor. Sushi was very good as were to dumplings.

Easily the best Korean food in the Birmingham area. The Galbi is incredible.

I got teryiaki steak and it was horrible o didn't taste any teryiaki and the rice was horrible too the only good parts were the spring rolls and thats not ok if the only good part of your restraunt.

Excellent food with service just as good. The menu covers a wide range of Korean and Japanese foods at fairly reasonable prices. The BiBimpBap I ordered was superb, and arrived quickly. The dish came with soup and a few other Korean side dishes. Also ordered the takosawa as an appetizer. Surprised at how good it actually was. Nice! I will be returning here to try more dishes in the future.

The best sushi in Birmingham in my opinion. Very friendly staff and fantastic food. Would highly recommend.

Came in for lunch on August 3, 2019. They open at 11 am and we went in for the BBQ tables. We came in at 11:15 and they sat us quickly. But took an hour for them to bring out our food. Our appetizers took 30 min and was cold. There were 3 other tables already sat when we got in. The food was good and decent portions. The service wasn't very good, BUT... it wasn't our server's fault. She sat us, waited on us, severed us and even ran the bar. She also served the entire restaurant by herself which had about 12 full tables. She worked so hard, she was literally sweating!!! Great job Abigail!!!! Timeliness of the restaurant is why they got 3 stars. Waiting an hr is ridiculous in an empty restaurant. If it wasn't for the hard working server I would have give 2 stars.

The food there is good but the wait was a bit long

I thoroughly enjoyed the Korean barbecue here. The beef rib was sweet and tender and the chicken/shrimp were also delicious. The man who cooked our barbecue was very kind and made good conversation with us.

The Korean BBQ is amazing! A great experience to share. I thought there was plenty of food here, I have no idea what people are talking about the portions being too small. They're probably just not eating all of the delicious and unique Korean side dishes that come with it. That or they just eat too much anyway. American portions are huge and people come to expect that as normal and reasonable.

Price for the food and quality was not that great. Service was not that great as well especially since there was only 3 tables seated including us.

sushi slaps. service can be a little slow but the owner and sushi chef are involved with customers and out on the floor.

Randi Lynn McNeill

Amazing experience! We sat where we could cook our own entrees on our own personal grill table. The food and service are excellent and we especially love the atmosphere. Good place whether eating alone or a large group. Been many times since and intend on trying something new every time. You won't be disappointed!!

Ate lunch with a friend here. I am giving it 2 stars because the place has a ton of potential but it is clear the owner hasn’t taken time to train the staff. Nice enough team but few people were there and they juggled us around from finding a seat to getting a check. Food was good but nothing better then any other place. Simply put there are places that offer the same thing at a similar price with a better setup and customer discounts for loyal customer. Step it up or go extinct.

Pretty good for the Korean barbecue. The kids really enjoyed it. The food was good. It was very pricey though. The whole experience felt a lot like going to a Japanese hibachi but a lot more expensive for a lot less food. You'd think that since your cooking it yourself it might be less expensive or at least the same? We had to ask for the Korean side dishes since they only brought 3 little bowls for 5 people. They said they didn't want to waste them if people don't eat them. We were paying for them, weren't we? Then we were told they ran out of the one I liked. We had to ask for a tiny bowl of Kim chi too. You'd think at least they'd have an option to include fried rice for the same price. Overall might be nice for lunch or couples but lacking in value for a family.

It's the most authentic sushi in the entire city of Birmingham .I have traveled the world and eaten sushi in the biggest cities on the planet, and the sushi here is as good as anywhere I've been. If I am not mistaken one of the sushi chef's was one of the original chef's at Kobe years ago, and no one makes sushi quite like him. I love this place!!

What an amazing experience! Food and service outstanding. I can't wait to come back!!

I love the atmosphere here and how they decorated the store. My server was extremely nice. Enjoyed the food!

We had the nicest server around. We were fortunate to have found this little gem and were delighted to find some decent Asian cuisine in Alabama. I think this place could do better if they up charged and had an all you can eat Korean BBQ, similar to the many places in other states. We have recommended this place to many of our friends who have made the trip out to find that they also enjoy the food, the drinks, and especially the atmosphere.

Amazing food and friendly staff

I guess the blonde server didn’t remember serving us about a month ago. She was rude and made it very obvious she wanted us to hurry as it was towards the end of lunch rush. Despite this, I decided to give them another try today. I called to order takeout. I drove from Sterrett and called while I was still 20 minutes out. I was still on hold when I pulled up. I walked towards the door, phone in hand to see the same server along with another employee smoking out front. I go in where I find an essentially empty restaurant at around 1:20pm with only two customers other than myself and calmly explain that I am still on hold and would like to place my to go order now. She takes it and simply says, “I’m sorry we were busy.” I go back out to wait in my car while they make it and she goes back to smoking outside. I waited for about 15 minutes having not been told how long my order would take. She went back inside and I go back in about five minutes later. My order was waiting already bagged on the counter. At this point, she goes to get it to me and tells me to have a nice day. Very poor service. Very bad business. There was no real apology at all and nothing done to help rectify this situation. If customers don’t matter to this business, then I very much doubt it will continue to do well. A simple solution could’ve included an apology and at the very least she should’ve brought it to my car for the massive inconvenience. I was calling the order in for a reason. I didn’t have time to wait and I’m ill and didn’t want to be around the general public. I wanted to run in and out and get back to things I had to do today.

Love this place. Everything is great. Sushi, Korean BBQ. All delicious!

The best Korean BBQ option anywhere nearby. Ginza has a great 2 person deal, get the bulgolgi and chicken. Husband said it tasted just like Seoul!

Mitch Hutts

Ginza never disappoints, whether I'm getting takeout or dining in for Korean BBQ. Great service and amazing food! Try the bento boxes. You get a ton of food (great variety) for a great price.

Wayne Sellers

Great service, great food.

Food itself is pretty good. The spicy chicken wasn't really spicy at all. My main gripe is the portion size, the korean BBQ dishes are served with sides, maybe 1-2 bites of each side. The entree size itself is rather small. Definitely wasn't full when finished. If the price was lower, it'd be fine, but with prices set as they are, you honestly need 1-2 appetizers and an entree to fill up if this is going to be a dinner sized meal.

Very good super crunch and caterpillar roll..
