Unfortunately, this place is only open on Friday's for lunch (and dinner the rest of the time). It might be a good thing for my weight though. The first thing you notice about Five is the ambiance. It is really stylish and cool. If you go, make sure to get the cheeseburger. They win for my "Best Cheeseburger in Mobile" award. It is seriously good. and the deviled eggs are tremendous, as is the uptown chicken appetizer. If you are looking for a drink the strawberry lemonade is a good choice. The staff is always friendly and takes care of you as well.

We stopped by for dinner after a parade. It has a really nice atmosphere, especially for couples. We tried the fried green tomatoes and chicken appetizer recommended by our waitress. We loved them. The food was the perfect temperature and very tasty. For our entrees we ordered the Catch of the Day. It was grilled red snapper served with rice pilaf and a house salad. I wish I could make this myself at home. I will definitely try to recreate this dish. The next time we are in town, we will be back. To finish our meal we tried the white chocolate bread pudding. Honestly, I have never had a bread pudding that I liked. Five Bar's bread pudding was amazing. It was light. Delicious.

This was my first time to Five. I had a delicious mimosa and my husband took advantage of the Bloody Mary bar. We shared the shrimp and grits which were delicious. Our waiter Louis was awesome and recommended the beignets which were different than any I have had before but were delicious. Will be back!

This place is built on the principle that fewer things done well are better than lots of things done poorly. They limit the menu to 5 things in each category. Great for folks who struggle making decisions. If you need more help, the baked avocado for an app and paneed chicken are my favs.

Excellent food and a lovely experience. My sirloin steak was actually pretty poor but once I spoke with our waiter he and the manager corrected the mistake and we continue to enjoy our evening. Everything besides the steak was fabulous!

Small menu, but wonderful choices for lunch. I had the burger that was HIGHLY recommended. I opted to add the fried egg and it paired well with the bacon relish and spicy sauce they served on the side. I ate so quickly I forgot to take a picture, but the restaurant is beautiful and cozy. I came here for lunch on a Saturday with 5 other friends. The beignets was smaller than what I had in Louisiana but still yummy. The chicken waffles was really good. The fried chicken was unusually good.

This restaurant was a little surprised. We went for my niece's birthday and everything was great. It was very quaint and cozy. And how I know the food was extra good the baby cleaned her plate and she is a really picky eater. It was on a Saturday Downtown Mobile and the service the hospitality everything was completely on point. I recommend 5 as a plus

Great place for dinner. The fried chicken and mac and cheese are to die for. I didn't like that the Asian slaw that came with the chicken bites was overdressed, or that a cocktail in a short glass was $8. It was very strong and tasty though. Will be back to try brunch.

First time at this establishment. I went with a friend for Easter Sunday brunch. We didnt realize we needed reservations. However we were still able to be seated. There was live jazz playing and the sun was shining (we sat outside). The service was great! Food was good and it didnt take forever to get to the table! Since I wasn't drinking they made a an orange fresco that was superb! The price point was fairly reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Would we go back....Most definitely.

We walked in and they were slammed, with several reservations coming in found out later they had 2 servers call out. The manager worked us in and our waitress quickly came by. Service was backed up both at bar and the kitchen but they had several large parties so you have to be understanding. My husband had the shrimp and grits, which he really enjoyed and I returned to the chicken and waffles, chicken was excellent but the waffles weren't crisp but still very tasty. We weren't in a rush, so all was good.

FIVE has an eclectic, cool vibe and cuisine that is fresh, local, portioned perfectly and never disappoints. I have brought many out of town friends to FIVE and they all rave about the atmosphere and the delicious food. You will see diners ranging from age 22 to 70 and somehow it just all works. I can't say enough about the brunch, the drinks, and my favorite "wine Wednesdays" with half price bottles of wine. You will love FIVE. Perfect for a romantic date, girls night out, or brunch with friends and family!

In town for the Distinguished Young Women program and grabbed an early dinner at FIVE. Briana took great care of us and we loved our meals and the atmosphere. Overall it's a great atmosphere frequented by the 25-35 crowd. The owners philosophy with his establishments is universal amongst his establishements. Variety is minimal but what they do is superb. My favorite is the burrito and quiche. I would not recommend the crab but only because it is not as unique as thier other 4 dishes. The avacdo toast is great and the drinks are exceptional. Live music on Sundays is a plus and Louis is the best server request him if you can.

The manager stopped by to talk to us while we were seated at the bar. Management involvement here is obviously the norm, because the service speaks for itself.

Service was amazing but food was just alright. $14+ dollars for a burger with processed cheese is a little high; at least serve cheddar if you're gonna charge that much. The cocktails are nice and the atmosphere is cool if a little loud. They say gluten free friendly but options are super limited so while its a fun place, not a regular spot for me.

There were 8 of us on a Saturday night. The service from our waiter was good. I found the food mediocre at best. I had a seafood plate which included a very good crab cake, no more than 1 ounce of trigger fish and three baked shrimp. It was served with risotto and every meal includes a salad. Unfortunately, the lettuce make us at least 60-70% of the plate. Additionally I had a drink for $9 with what was said to be 1.25 ounces of whiskey on ice. When I questioned our server he said they had a new bartender and he was "all over the place." I said I would like another if he could assure me a decent pour. He said nothing and I ended up with a mediocre wine for $9. The whiskey sells for about $69 in the state store. Even at the pour mentioned it would "only bring in $426/bottle. I was excited to try Five. I think they should get their act together or this will be another restaurant that fails--they'll blame it on Mobile and not accept the blame themselves.

Five stars for FIVE. It was an incredible Sunday evening - not too big of a crowd but not eerily quiet. My husband and I ordered the Baked Avocado and Deviled Eggs as appetizers, Bordeaux Bourbon and Bourbon Ginger Fizz as drinks. For dinner we had the Gulf Coast Platter and Pork Chop. Some of the best seafood we've had after living in Mobile for 8 years. Also, not your average pork chop - currently longing for the recipe. Finished off with the bread pudding, also excellent. We will return for more.

The best thing about this place is that’s it’s open late. The apps are pretty good but I can’t say the same for the entrees. I’ve tried a few different dinner options here and it’s always just mediocre. One time my dish came out missing the risotto so I waited 20 minutes while my boyfriend finished his meal and I had eaten most of mine (reluctantly) for way beyond under cooked risotto, we aren’t talking al dente, these things weren’t edible. To pay such good money you’d expect better quality. Each time the quality of food seems worse. I don’t know if they changed chefs a little over a year ago but it used to be much better.
