I just left Firebirds after having a long dinner with my partner. I spoke to our waiter, Brooks, and let him know we were celebrating our second anniversary, and that we'd probably be taking our time with our courses. He was SO understanding, and paced the meal perfectly, and suggested a wonderful wine. The food was incredible, and when we received our bill, there was a hand signed note from all the wait staff wishing us a happy anniversary. That really made such a difference to my partner and I and made this the perfect anniversary dinner. We have plans to come to Firebirds regularly in the future now, and we're so happy that we made reservations here. Thanks to the kitchen for the lovely meal, and to our waiters for such a lovely finishing touch to our anniversary.

Very Disappointed in the quality of the food. I used to frequent firebirds but something changed in the last 8 months and the quality of the food is really subpar now. My visit tonight consisted of a Sour Ribeye and didn’t see it on the check Grilled Shrimp, my salad came out seconds before the sour steak. Tried the steak and and had to have it recooked, as my steak was going back my shrimp arrived, fantastic shrimp though, then my recooked steak came out rare. 90 minutes later left without an appetite or a meal. You May reconsider visiting here if you’re looking for a quality meal that will be what you expect.

If i could leave a 0 star i would . I just went to lunch with my girlfriends and the experience was absolutely horrible. I ordered a side Caesar salad and a turkey club... salad comes out looking amazing, but there was a bug that was crawling in my food... told the waitress HALEY and she took it back... mind you, no apology, nothing. Brings me back a new salad, only lettuce with cheese... not mixed nothing.. so i refused the salad. Again... no apology. Next comes my turkey club... no condiments that was advertised... my tomatoes were not ripe. We had to call the manager, the manager did not come to us once and apologize for anything... i mean there was a crawling bug on my salad. Needless to say HALEY came over and we just told her an apology would have been nice for the inconvenience that we experience and she had the audacity to get smart with us, shrug her shoulders and say “IM SORRY YOU HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE” and walked away. I’ve been going to Firebirds for years now and I will say I will never come back. THANKS FOR THE EXPERIENCE HALEY :)

Really enjoyed our dinner, even though our evening started out badly with our waitress having a very bad attitude. The manager handled the situation well, and we were able to relax and enjoy the good food after we were moved to another table and assigned a much better server. I have not dined at all of the finest establishments in the Birmingham area. That being said, this has to be the best of any sort of chain of restaurants here. It's impressive inside with lots of room for everyone. It does not feel crowded even when they are busy. They have a fantastic drink selection and the steaks are amazing. The service is excellent. It's not inexpensive, but it's reasonable and very much worth it. I can't wait to go back!

Party of 2 (Black American). Walk up to the white hostess...I say table for 2,she asks if I had a reservation, I said no, she quoted me 2 hours for a table. A white couple walks up same question, the hostess types in a reservation and gets them seated right away. I walk out, go into google and reserve a table for 2, walk RIGHT back in and was seated. I do NOT recommend this place if you are black and want service. Should have gone to Perry’s where they treat paying customers with respect. Ruth’s Chris, Fleming’s, Perry’s, Seasons 52 would NEVER do that to paying customers

We love our Hoover, Alabama Firebirds. Our food was excellent. Only one thing was off. I was served a side portion of excellent green beans with a large spoon accompanying. A spork/spork tweezer would be excellent for that instead. The spoon was unusable to put the beans on my plate. I had to eat them off the oval plate in front of someone I wanted to impress. Yuck! Business is business.

I usually never leave reviews but our waiter, Tyler, was so good I had too. He gave excellent recommendations and was very accommodating. And even though it was very busy he was very attentive and didn't rush us. He is the only waiter I've had who can keep up with my constant drink refills. Will definitely ask for him next time.

We have been here a hundred times bc it is a favorite of ours. We have an eighteen month old with MAJOR food allergies. Normally I pack her food but we stopped in at an odd time. Our server Ashley was so sweet when we asked about a special request with toddlers food. She sent the manager Josh over and we went to look at ingredients of a few things on the menu. After deciding what would be safe for our daughter the head chef Eric brought her food out and it was perfect. Severe food allergies are so scary for parents and they did the absolute best job of making sure our daughter had something safe and delicious to eat! Thank you ASHLEY, JOSH and ERIC.

Always a great experience! Excellent food, amazing service, and a great atmosphere! The team is great and always moving. Productive and without sacrificing the service! From the kitchen staff to the bartenders and service staff, you are always made to feel at home when entertaining at this fine establishment! The patio is amazing even in the winter with a beautiful fire place and a now enclosed as well. Football season spot to watch the game and have a drink, call ahead seating you name it! Will always be a favorite spot for us!

Definitely a wait time! When we finally got the food my serving of vegetables was so small I had to ask the waiter why. Literally only a couple slices of squash and zucchini. I had the prime rib and my bf ordered a NY strip which he ended up getting sesame salmon and had to have them take it back. Had to wait another while for the potato I ordered. Really good food if they can get the service right and not skimp out on portions for a 30 dollar meal. Places like bonefish grill offer 2 sides with their main courses and this place does not and charges another 6 dollars if u want to add a side. I would have been mad if I paid 6 dollars for that small of vegetables. Sorry to complain it was good food and friendly staff overall. Maybe we will try a different night or time since this was our first time there.

They actually had the 2010 Rutherford Cab. as the menu stated. Not to be taken lightly. After being informed at the "Yard" in the Elyton Hotel recently that the first 3 !!! wines were sold out or were a vintage other than on the menu I have to say. Brilliant Firebirds, keep up the good work.

We started out with the philly cheesesteak egg rolls and the meat wasn't seasoned at all. I guess they thought the thai sauce and hot mustard would compensate for not seasoning the meat. For the entree we had the Firewood chicken pasta, which had more pasta than chicken. It was nicely seasoned with a little spice to it. We also had the pick 2 with chicken tortilla soup and spinach salad, which were both really good. Since there is such a wide variety on the menu I will try it again.

Food was good. However they added tip without telling us or even indicating that they had done so... the bill was $73 and they gave me a receipt saying they'd charged $85 without any explanation. If I hadn't looked at the other receipt that was itemized and totaled to $73, I would've thought I needed to tip. Seems like they do this to get more money out of you which is despicable considering their already substantial prices.

My wife and I went here for our 2nd year wedding anniversary. We had a great dinner. The atmosphere was good. It wasn't too loud and and the lighting was soft but bright. They provided a loaf of bread while we waited on our food. We got the aged ribeye and they did a good job cooking it to our desired doneness. The baked potatoes were great too. We were very very full. And while we didn't expect this they gave us some complementary crème brûlée cheese cake bites in celebration of our anniversary. We definitely will go back again if we get the chance.

I came into firebirds the other night and received the best service and food that I have had in a long time. We were offered a free appetizer for waiting only a brief amount of time to be seated. Once we were seated our orders and drinks were taken promptly with our drinks refilled numerous amounts of times. Once our orders arrived we were pleased with the taste and execution of our food. We were glad to see that after a few bad experiences and talking with managers that our experience had improved tremendously. Also our waitress Emily was thoughtful and attentive to our every need. By far the worst experience i have had in a restaurant. We just left, we waited for over an hour on our meal, 3 tables that came after us, tables with 4, 7, 3, people got their food way before us, they were able to finish their whole meal (smh).The waiter checked on the other tables at least 4 times, wouldn't even look at us. This place came recommended from a couple of friends of mine, but beyond poor service. I don't know if it was because we are hispanic, or don't know what. Hell i don't mind dropping a good 100, 150 on good food and service. I just don't get it?

Came on a Friday night around 7, was seated within 15 minutes. Our server was absolutely fantastic, recommending several mouth-watering dinner options. My wife ordered some form of chicken pasta while I opted for a steak. Best steak I've had in some time! Atmosphere was fine, a little noisy, but overall not overwhelming. I will definitely be dining there again soon!

I would not recommend this restaurant after the service I received today. The server was extremely rude. When asked for the management -Travis Cherri (“like the fruit”-his words) - Did nothing to rectify the situation. I have eaten here many times and never ever been treated that way. It was so bad that our party of 5 left before ordering. They definitely missed out on a nice sale! Hope it was worth it! We had a wonderful meal with amazing service at J Alexander’s!

This is my 3rd time going to Firebirds. It was really good. This time I ordered something I really enjoyed. It was Firebirds pasta. It had a spicy Asiago sauce with chicken, applewood bacon and scallions. I ordered mine less the tomatoes. It was really good and a hearty portion. The bread they Serve is a bit hard on the outside and soft on the inside. It's their signature bread, but can use some softening. The only downside to my meal was that it was almost $20.00 and didn't come with a side. My father had too sirloin steak that he enjoyed. My son has the prime rib center cut. He also enjoyed his meal. So I sucked it up and paid for it because it was still good. The atmosphere was good and cordial. Our server was great and I tipped him well! He was a tall light skinned black guy Devon or Dedrick I think was his name. After all, I enjoyed my dinner!

Good chain restaurant... Food is actually quite good, service is genuinely friendly and attentive. The bar has a large selection of brand liquors, plenty of room to have a conversation and a good meal. Special requests are welcomely accommodated. Guests tend to be very friendly and talkative, like going to a local bar, even if your not local. All in all, decent place to go,. None pretentious, good drinks, good food and great drinks. A bit pricy at the bar, but generous pours in my experience.

Visited the site for the first time yesterday to celebrate my birthday along with another lady's birthday. I ordered the meatloaf after the recommendation of another guest. The plate I received was horrible. The meatloaf was dry and cold. There was less than a teaspoon of gravy with even drier mushrooms. The green beans and broccoli were both cold. Never been so disappointed to receive a meal that was sent back immediately. I won't be back, nor will I recommend this place to anyone.

I cannot recommend this restaurant. It began with our server being inappropriately rude. Upon asking for the manager - Travis Cherry (like the fruit-his words) his comments were unprofessional and he did nothing to alleviate our frustration with the staff problem. Our server Gregory was very kind and attentive. I had the grilled chicken which was great and my husband enjoyed his ribeye we both had the parmesan mashed potatoes which we both loved. The cheesecake was absolutely amazing as well! I love that they donate to Alex's lemonade stand for every lemonade purchase. We will be back.

My husband and I had an early Valentine’s Day luncheon today. It was our first visit to this restaurant and certainly won’t be our last. Everything about this place said “great food and great service.” I had the Salmon which was perfectly cooked. When our served asked how everything tasted, i me times the vegetables were over cooked for my taste. She apologized and even though I had eaten most of them, the manager brought a dish with freshly cooked veggies. He said he hoped these were better. What class! Since I’m counting calories, having the calories listed on the menu (and even the website) helped me make healthy choices. We will he back again!

Haley is inexperienced and needs more training. There was a bug on top of my friend’s salad like a topping and she looked at it and placed the salad to the side. There was NEVER an apology or anything. I guess since she didn’t make the salad it was not her issue, but an apology is free and very well recommended. Management sucks and it was obviously not their issue either. I recommend that Haley goes through some customer service training or else she will have such a hard time with us southerners....

Had a business lunch with a potential investor. It was their first time and enjoyed the shrimp tacos. I had the sesame encrusted salmon with double fried spinach. The salmon was seasoned and cooked to a medium temperature, both were to my satisfaction. The wait staff were pleasant and accommodating. The experience was great!

I've seen some bad reviews for here since we've been and I think those just must be extra picky people or ones who just can't be happy with any service. We were surprised to find out this is a chain. You can't tell that it is. We arrived early for our reservation time but we were seated. The staff was courteous and attentive. We did have a bit of an issue with a specific liquor not being available for a pre dinner cocktail I ordered. Solved that by ordering a different cocktail. When we received our steaks for dinner we hadn't received our dinner wine yet so we caught our waitress and reminded her. Some little things can go wrong with any dining experience. These things were handled easily and with courtesy from the staff. The menu choices are extensive and the food we ordered was delicious. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. We order ours medium rare and I like that moment just when it goes from rare to medium rare and a lot of places serve it at that moment right before it goes from medium rare to medium, by the time it gets to you. Those of you that like it like we do will understand what I mean. Anyway, this was absolutely perfect. The amount of food was just right. This was our anniversary and we will certainly return for other dinners here.

Loved Everything. This place was absolutely phenomenal. The food was amazing, the desert was heavenly. The atmosphere is warm, the decor is on point, and the smell of the Woodfire Grill is very soothing and therapeutic to me. My only recommendation is to make sure to come hungry.

Food was pretty good but the service took away from the experience. Found some foreign object in my salad, showed it to the waiter and he said it was a piece of a tortilla strip (black), even though nothing I ordered had tortilla strips. It was not crunchy and was hard like a piece of plastic. The service wasn't that great either, which surprised me. We ordered appetizers and then our entre', which we were sharing. He brought out our entre' before the appetizers. I would have liked the appetizers first, before the entrees, since that is how we ordered.

A great place for steak especially. Although everything on the menu is great. The Tuna appetizer and Ranch Rings are great as well. Service is always friendly, but there can be a bit of a wait. This is a definite step up in quality and cost from Outback and the like. The double black diamond martini is great to drink while waiting for a table.

Despite being crowded with people out in the evening Christmas shopping everything was quite nice. Had excellent service and food without a very long wait; about 15 minutes. The only slow part seemed to be the bar which was swamped with only a couple people tending there. Otherwise our food arrived in a timely fashion and our rib eyes done just as ordered with the blue cheese and mushrooms. A very pleasant evening meal.

This is one of my wife and I's favorite restaurants to go to. The atmosphere is very cozy but yet sophisticated..which we love. The food is always good. I highly recommend the Cilantro-grilled chicken breast meal and also the Smokehouse chicken sandwich meal! The onion rings are amazing too! The cheesecake for dessert is one of the best cheesecakes that I've ever tasted!

The food is great..It could be a little on the pricey side but if you want to feel fancy and dress up for dinner, this place is wonderful. I highly recommend the big daddy chocolate cake. If you've seen the movie Matilda, then this cake resembles that one. It's so moist and pairs so well with the ice cream. They give you a hefty piece so keep the entre small if you have a thing for dessert.

Firebirds is a safe choice. The menu is consistent. The service is consistent. The food is consistent. I can't say they do any dish really well but it's a nice American restaurant with pretty good drink selections.

I've seen some bad reviews for here since we've been and I think those just must be extra picky people or ones who just can't be happy with any service. We were surprised to find out this is a chain. You can't tell that it is. We arrived early for our reservation time but we were seated. The staff was courteous and attentive. We did have a bit of an issue with a specific liquor not being available for a pre dinner cocktail I ordered. Solved that by ordering a different cocktail. When we received our steaks for dinner we hadn't received our dinner wine yet so we caught our waitress and reminded her. Some little things can go wrong with any dining experience. These things were handled easily and with courtesy from the staff. The menu choices are extensive and the food we ordered was delicious. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. We order ours medium rare and I like that moment just when it goes from rare to medium rare and a lot of places serve it at that moment right before it goes from medium rare to medium, by the time it gets to you. Those of you that like it like we do will understand what I mean. Anyway, this was absolutely perfect. The amount of food was just right. This was our anniversary and we will certainly return for other dinners here.

We went the Friday after Valentine's day with no reservation, so we had an hour wait. Even with that, I seriously can not remember ever having a better steak, and I love steak. The salad (spinach) was wonderful, the brocolli was great, and my adult beverage was just right. Staff were kind and helpful even as they were moving like their feet were on fire.
