I went in there for lunch today, because I had read good reviews about their food, I think because I was the only white person in there they didn't even offer me a menu I had to go get one myself, then after 15 minutes of waiting for them to come take my order which they never did I decided to just walk out, very disappointed in the way they treat their customers, well at least this customer will never go back

El Taco Loco has really great food. One of the more authentic Mexican restaurants in the area. Not as many menu options as I would like but never had experience. I eat here about once a week. You can dine in, ordering, eating and paying in about 25 min. The space is not huge though so lunch time gets pretty crowded.

Service was slow but friendly the food was good. I had two basic cocktails and a cheese enchilada and my bill was $25. RIP OFF!

It was pretty good. My boyfriend likes to get tacos from the taco truck and going here, they looked exactly the same. They also have other things like sandwiches and hamburgers. Small and cozy. I'll go back, sure.

We found this restaurant thru a person who lives in Birmingham Alabama with my parents and I just visiting. The staff was nice. The carne asada was very good. And my father's tacos were very good too. For the price, very good.

This is a more authentic Mexican restaurant for the area. Excellent salsa with chunks of vegetables in it. They also have the red and green habanero sauce at the table; they also bring out their homemade sauce once you order. The menu is vast with several lunch specials including several authentic soups.

I got the taco salad for take-out, and it was delicious! Their salad comes with the usual lettuce, cheese, onion and pico, but it also includes grilled green peppers and avocado slices, which added a lot to the flavor. I will be back to try more!

Authentic and Tex Mex all on one menu. I only get the tacos. Same taste as the trucks and I can sit down and get some chips and salsa and a Margarita, too. Employees speak very little English, but enough to get your order right and ring it up correctly later. Prices are great, too Update: will never get another dime from me. My 4 friends were refused alcohol service but apparently our money was still good enough to purchase food. Supposedly, one of my friends caused a problem the last time she was there, and would not be served alcohol going forward. But in actuality, because all black people look alike, (insert sarcasm here) my friend was confused with someone else who had caused a disturbance a week or two prior. We were told the manager was not there , even though he was actually hiding in the back , and that if we did not pay and leave, policia was coming . All of this was said to us in broken English, by the way

Beyond reasonably priced. This place has the most authentic northern mexican food in the city. Pineapple fajitas, grilled cactus, hot whole fish, and incredible fresh made margaritas. My favorite is the torte cubano with avacado, chorizo, mexican sausage, and breaded fried steak and egg. All items come with wonderful homeade taco sauce. There are few other restraunts where you will find beef tongue and tripe on the menu. Very authentic but also completely approachable to anyone who likes american mexican food.

Yes! Food here is great. Prices are solid & the servers are friendly (albeit they are sometimes spread too thin, so you may have to wait if it’s busy) One thing though- I wish the guacamole had tomatoes, red onions, & more lime. As it stands, it’s just a little bit lackluster ——update—- Went again a few months ago and the quality of the food has really gone down. The salsa I’m pretty sure was made with canned tomatoes...that’s where I draw the line. Sadly will not be returning

I am staying in Birmingham for a month because I just had a kidney transplant. Today after a week I was finally able to get out for a little bit. We found this restaurant and I am so glad we stopped. The food was so good and the portions are so big. We got the chicken chilaquiles and thripe tacos with rice and beans. Even the chips and salsa was good. We couldn't finish all of it.I recommend this restaurant 100%.
