Cobalt was highly recommended by all the locals so we were excited. When we arrived we knew it was crowded because parking was limited. The main reason for two stars is the hostess basically lied to us about the wait time. Promises of 45 minutes for inside seating and 60 minutes for outside were exaggerated. We checked back at 45, 60, and 75 minutes being told each time it would be a few more minutes. We waited almost 90 minutes and then were given a table INSIDE. Trevor our server tried to make it up to us and did a nice job. Food was decent but we were so upset, the experience overall was disappointing and I wouldn't return.

Wish I could give it 4.75 stars. Great location, great service, food is pretty good and we do enjoy it, but it's a little expensive for the quality. Sometimes the fresh tuna is fantastic, sometimes the piece you get is tough. It's a big place and can handle large groups easily. Love the fries and risotto... The menu is has great options and a gluten free menu too. Will be going again, of course.

This was the most scrumptious, delicious, decadent dinner we have experienced in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach. We had a tuna tartar with avocado for a starter, then my husband and I both had the swordfish special - blackened over Gouda risotto with asparagus. Insane! I tried the Lei and Bushwacker (as a dessert Bev) - both great, but my "dessert" with floater of Bacardi was STRONG. Our waiter was top notch! ❤

This place has always been good, but here lately it's been disappointing. My gf and I came here for lunch, we're locals. She ordered gumbo and requested LIGHT on rice. I ordered Crab Bisque and told the waiter I want it to be a very hot soup temperature wise. She got her gumbo piled up with rice, and we both ask "that's light rice"? I got my soup COLD. Our waiter Michael was the worst. He did not listen to what we requested, and he had the attitude that he did not care! We asked for the manager, and this manager just moved here from NY and started working at Cobalt 7 months ago, and he had no managing skills. This by far has been the worst service we've had in a long time. We will not go back for awhile. And when we do, we'll make sure to not have the same waiter. Very very disappointing.

Try to get a place outside at the waterfront. It's gorgeous especially if there is a beautiful sunset. They have a pretty extensive misting system, which makes it comfortable to sit outside even if it's hot.

The atmosphere is amazing. Go at sunset. The view is beautiful. We like to sit outside if the weather is good and watch the boats and dolphins and the sunset set. The food is enjoyable. The pizza is good. I have had it several times.They have some specialty dishes, but we go mainly for the view. The staff is always friendly and efficient. It is a place to try.

The short: Good food but rough service and charged twice. The long: Went on a weekday night and had a bit of a wait so we went to the bar outside so get a drink and an appetizer. The drinks took a some time to get as the bartender did not know how to make one of them (a mule variety) and gave us a house margarita instead of the specialty "cobalt margarita" that was ordered. We got our table before the appetizer arrived so I stayed behind to pay out and move to the table. The bartender could not find my tab but already had my card on it. She made yet another tab after some time and charged that one without ever finding the original. Inside at our table service was slightly more prompt and the food was great (redfish and snapper special). Hopefully it was just a down night for the bartender and the full bar on a weekday was just a little overwhelming. This morning, however, I woke up to two charges on my card. It seems at the end of the night they ran the original tab that still had my card on it. Not the lasting impression I wanted.

I love going to this restaurant!! It's always good vibes and good people. Love sitting outside by the water and at the outside bar. Extremely nice view, it is to die for. Not to mention the bands they have every time i go there, they are awesome. The food there is also delicious. I always get the zydeco chicken pasta which is super delicious.the drinks on the other hand wasn't all that but i love going here!

I hate to say this is a beautiful restaurant and scenery but the food was not good . I could have said something, but I could see they must be doing something right and i obviously did not order right . We got the swordfish and peanut crusted tomatoes it was all dry and had no flavor it needed something good the onions were sweet but the plate was just horrible no taste . We also got the shrimp dish with noodles that looked beautiful but was so hot, spicy, I could not get past the hot to the favor . I felt like we just threw 100 dollars in the trash . 3 stars for scenery .

Go early! We got there a little before 5 and only waited 30 minutes but when we left, the wait was 2 hours. Super loud restaurant so no quiet dinner here. The food was spot on. I had the filet with mashed potatoes and asparagus. So tasty! Hubby had a rib eye with mashed potatoes and green beans with a demi glace. He enjoyed his as well. The AC in the restaurant doesn't work with a hoot so dress appropriately for being ready to sweat. Manager just blew off the heat as normal. Silliness.

My wife had the mahi mahi and I had the shrimp and grits. I also had the oysters raw on the half. I was skeptical how a place with 2000+ reviews could have an average of 4.5 stars.....that is, until I tasted all that we’d ordered. Simply put.....WOW! My only regret is that this establishment is a 10hour drive from my house. Do yourself a favor and stop by if you are in the area and love seafood.

Amazing experience! From beginning to end it was a complete delight. We enjoyed an amazing happy hour for drinks AND oysters! The meal was delicious and fresh, drinks were TOP NOTCH! Olivia, our server, made the whole experience worth while. She was friendly, we’ll informed, and patient- we had 3 kids five & under! We will make this a regular stop for vacation!

My family loved this place! The prices were reasonable, the food was so good and our server (Logan) was great! We had the crab and shrimp dip as a starter and it was delicious. I really enjoyed watching the boats. I recommend it highly. We will definitely be back

Food was great. Nice view and service was awesome. While our server was getting our water we had two others stop and ask if we had been take care of! I thought that was great! I had “The Do It Yourselfer” burger. The fries were really good! It was a little pricy, but I would definitely go back! I kept staring out at other customers desserts and they looked really really good! The owner/manager(I assume) was going around and checking on all the tables. I thought that was great as well. I didn’t catch his name. 10/10 I’d go again.

We were there for the birthday of our friend and they brought a cupcake with a candle on it for her to blow and also brought us also chocolate cupcakes. All was so delicious. Waiter and the Asst. An interesting restaurant. Food is good to excellent. A large inside restaurant often with live music. Outside dining on the bay, also with live music. We usually eat there at least once on our trips to Perdido key. Another reason we eat there-- I left my wallet on the table and didn't discover it till next morning. I called them and they said it was given to the manager last night and all the info in it pertained to my home address so they had no way to contact me. I immediately went to retrieve it. I was wonderfully suprised. All the cash and credit cards were still there. I left a nice tip for the staff who saved me a huge set of problems. So, yeah we eat there most every trip to the coast.

We are new to Orange Beach and wanted a waterfront, seafood restaurant and after reading reviews we ended up here. Long wait but nice outdoor bar with drinks, apps and music helped pass the time. Beautiful spot on the water for the sunset. Food was great and our waiter was very helpful and informative.

We arrived and there was an hour wait for a table that was at 5. We had drinks at the bar until our table was ready. The bartender was extremely nice but the drinks weren't mixed well, my husband drank both of mine. Once seated, our food was quickly delivered. It was very good. One of the best steaks I have ever had. Between 2 entrees and 4 drinks we spent 110$. My only real complaint is the wait time. The parking is terrible as well, we had to park down the road and walk.

Wow, this place was great! From the outside it makes a statement. Inside is even better. The staff is very friendly and our server Andy was top notch! We brought our own fresh caught black snapper in, (for only $16 they cook it for you with two sides and a salad!) had it blackened and fried, and it tasted great!! The house Margarita was one of the best I’ve ever had. My in-laws had the blackened red snapper and they were very pleased. Thanks for a pleasurable experience during our vacay!

I decided to visit this restaurant with friends and family while we were staying on Gulf shores for the weekend. I thought I could not go wrong due to their ratings on Trip advisor. I was wrong. Upon arrival the front desk host advised that it was going to be an hour and 30 minutes waiting. Usually, I don`t wait more than 40 minutes to eat in any restaurant but due to their nice location at the marina I decided to stay and enjoy the evening and a few drinks. We waited for one hour and 45 minutes. We decided to check with the host again due to the fact that we could see a few empty tables. They just said that those tables were reserved. I informed the host lady that they should honor what they say. They said our waiting time was an hour and 30 minutes and we waited longer than that. I also let her know that it was very rude on their part to keep us waiting there when we could`ve go to another place instead of leaving us hungry, looking for another place at almost 10pm. Very dishonest people and staff. I would not recommend this place, especially if you are Hispanic or minority. Oh yes. We were the only Hispanic group left out when everybody else was called in. They probably might write back saying that it was not truth. I know I am telling the truth. If you are visiting Orange Beach or Gulf shores, do yourself a favor and go someplace else if you are looking for a seafood place. They have a lot of better options in the area to visit than this place.

A combination of seafood and Pizza. It has indoor and outdoor tables. Outdoor tables have a beautiful view of the bay (Cotton Bayou). We went there for seafood, so I didn't try the pizza. I saw many guests ordering pizza which means it must be good. The shrimp poboy was really good. I ordered it with grilled shrimps. The grilled shrimps and grits was good and tasty as well. We ordered dessert since it was my wife's birthday. The fried apple pie with vanilla icecream was a great compliment to our food. The staff were very friendly and always accommodating. The prices are reasonable. The restaurant is wheel accessible. Small note for improvement: the staff at the door who assigned our seats where not so friendly. It is important for a restaurant to have the best attitude staff for greeting the guests.

My sister and I had dinner at Colbalt’s tonight (7/25/19). It was the best meal we have had on this vacation. Emily served us and was knowledgeable about the food and a joy to talk to. I had the BBQ shrimp for an appetizer, pecan crusted catfish as my entree and vanilla cream brûlée for dessert and everything was delicious! My sister had the grouper and cheesecake with caramel sauce and both were fantastic! The portions were so large I believe we brought more back to the condo than we ate at the restaurant. I highly recommend this place for the food, atmosphere and staff. Oh, the band was great also! Thank you and will see you on our next visit here!

My husband and I only spent 4 days in Orange Beach and 2 of our meals were enjoyed here, one for lunch and one for sunset dinner. So glad our bartender at Florabama told us about Cobalt. OMGoodness! This is now on my top 2 list of places to eat at the beach! (Big Fish is number 1!) The atmosphere, service and food are all top notch! I highly recommend the yellow fin tuna! Though everything we had was amazing! We decided to eat outside by the bar because of the wait for a table. I was skeptical because the band was about to start playing and I was afraid we wouldn't be able to hear to have a conversation. I was pleasantly surprised! The band was awesome AND we were able to hear each other! So, to sum it up great food, service, band, atmosphere and view! I highly recommend this place! We will be back!

Went on a Saturday night and despite this fact there's was no wait time and we were immediately seated. The restaurant was large and great seating and also nice seating outside, unfortunately it was too cold to enjoy sitting outside. Our waiter was really attentive and funny. For an appetizer we got the crab and shrimp dip which cane with toasted bread. It was delicious and really tasty. Also the table was served with a variety of rolls and butter. For my entree I got the steak served with green beans, mashed potatoes and some kind of sauce. Nice plate presentation. Everything was cooked to perfection. We had no issues with anything we ordered and received great service. To close it out I got the chocolate cake. My goodness, huge slice served with a scoop of ice cream and chocolate overload - the best! Price compares top just about all the nearby restaurants.

Our table had a variety of dishes that ranged from the catch of the day seafood to a medium rare filet, and everything was everything we hoped for. The Cobalt restaurant is a tremendous place to dine. The views of Wolf Bay with the boats, the dolphins and sun downs is outstanding. The service is exceptional. Great bar area too. Make this a stop on your visit to the area, you won't be disappointed. We had a great time, our waiter Jack, was well informed and delivered a master piece. We will chose Cobalt again for our dinner plan.

Love this place. Great view of the sunset, live music, great food. Pecan crusted catfish was an elevated catfish dinner an excellent. Expect a 1-2 hour wait especially in the busy beach season. Just go, sit in the outside bar area, enjoy the music, have your favorite beverage and an appetizer. The time will pass quickly.

We hosted our wedding reception at The Cobalt, being that we traveled from Texas and were not familiar with the area I was a little nervous but everything was absolutely amazing! Sally was our contact for every detail and she was always very responsive and kind! By the time our big day came around I trusted her 100% and knew she would do everything she could to make our experience the best! Cobalt is great whether you love seafood (fabulous seafood bisque and the aforementioned oysters) or something else (we also had a really good burger and a really good steak). Also, they make the BEST desserts on the Gulf Coast. The staff members that served us were fantastic. We come back every year for a reason. Thank you for a great experience, always!

My food was delicious! Free range chicken breast with grits and Cobalt greens...my fiance ordered shrimp and grits and they were mediocre, at best. We dined Al fresco, so the ambiance was great. Our appetizer was good too. It was a blue crab, shrimp dip with grilled bread.

Expect long wait for dinner, 45-90 mins after 5:30. Portions are large. Seafood quality is good. The jambalaya rice is a huge miss! Poor quality. Other sides and appetizers are great. Seating best outside at sunset and after. Lovely! Service was good. We liked this place!

The service was HORRIBLE at the outside bar. Others leaving after food never coming. We left after 1 drink and such bad service, bartender saying "you never said you wanted another drink (after being empty and ignored for 15+min), and he said "you never asked me for another!". I thought that was his job?? Been going here for years on Vaca, but there are MANY other places to chose from. Try something different, you will find better service.

Great for allergies. The staff walked through the menu and circled everything that we could eat. Between my daughter and me, we don’t eat gluten, dairy, egg, and sesame, and there a few things to choose from that were good options. Our party of 7 was seated and we ordered off the lunch menu. Our food was good, pecan crusted catfish and the cobalt burger. Our server was good and the atmosphere and decor was very pleasant. For desert we had the deep fried apple pie and it was excellent! It looks like a nice place to come after dark with a pretty patio area overlooking the water. I would definitely recommend this nice gem.

Solid semi-formal seafood restaurant. Some items are over priced. Food consistent with normal expectations. Firecracker shrimp was very tasty with it's slight spice. Most dishes lack balance in flavors; the seared tuna salad I ordered was very sweet, other dishes had there respective favor imbalances. The service staff was awesome. The environment was loud and too hot indoors to be very comfortable.

Cobalt's has outstanding food however marginal service is becoming a norm. Server tonight could get the drink order right....never delivered the refill and then charged us for it. She then acted like we were not telling the truth over not receiving the refill. The last few times we have been there the service has been a challenge. Disappointing considering it has been one of our favorite places in Orange Beach.

This place was good. The food was good though the salad did have some wilted pieces of lettuce. Overall I think this is a very tourist-y place. The menu does feel a tad overpriced, but not a deal breaker. The manager walked by our table about three or four times and did not engage with us, a large group of 12. Overall, as the star rating suggests, it's okay.

Atmosphere great, service great, presentation of food great. Sadly the food was slightly slacking. The prices are incredibly reasonable and portions are very large. Our group of 4 ordered the oyster sampler and firecracker shrimp for an appetizer which were both very good. However the main courses and dessert were lacking in flavor. Would we go back? Probably but it wouldn't be first on our list. But incredible views and gorgeous sunsets with great and friendly service.

Also they call this place fine dining ??? What a joke , drunk people parading in flips flops swimsuit cover-ups etc... Is a far cry from fine dining!!!!!! Save your hard earned money and go to Villagio if you want fine dining. And view? Go across bridge to Gulf and you will get same view!!!!!! Better food, better service !!!

Great food and environment. Call Ahead or anticipate a wait. Better yet, get there early for happy hour and get some cheap appetizers. We loaded up on the boom boom shrimp and pizza plates that were on the half price apps and our party loved them. We also splurged and got swordfish, my first time, and i gotta say that i really liked it. Awesome view, gotta be one of the best in the region. This is a special treat type place for my wife and i, you’re paying for the food and the experience!

The atmosphere was great, the food was good but a little pricey (to be expected for a marina) and I mixed feelings about the service. On one hand, the hostess was not friendly but the server was. The best service we got was from another server who cleaned the table we requested to be seated at and did it with a smile. A couple in my party said that that their shrimp and grits dishes was the best they'd ever had. Definitely worth the trip out there.

Great food. Great service. Good prices for a nice date night during vacation. We did wait quite a while to get seated but they have an outside bar to hang out by the Marina. You can dock your boat and eat there then take off back home when you are finished. *Tip* Use the Yelp app to check in before arriving to get seated quicker.

Was really looking forward to a special night out. Waited 45 minutes to sit on the patio in perfect weather, then was somehow skipped over in their system and our table was given away, at which point they said it would be another 20 mins to get a table outside. We were hungry and opted to sit inside right away. Only took about 5 minutes to realize the mistake. Not to mention we watched another couple led to the table we should have had on the patio next to the fountain. Super loud, dishes clanging, open kitchen noises, everything was chaotic and rushed. Our waiter was kind, but could hardly hear each other talk. Food was good but still overpriced especially based on the environment. If you are looking for a place to relax or have a lovely meal by the water, sadly that was not our experience.

Honestly its just too expensive for what you get. I spent $21 for fried shrimp, fries and cole slaw. Wife spent $34 on market catch and ask the waiter if there was more to go with it... there wasnt. Long wait to sit even longer to get food. Mixed drinks were pretty good. I got the Kai it was tasty and around $8.50 which is about average around this area.

What is there not to like? Nothing! The service (ask for Mattie), the food, the drinks, the view, the music, the sunset .... absolutely spot on! The huge outdoor seating is very comfy and the view terrific. There's also a huge outdoor bar with plenty of seating as well as great fire pits and Adirondack chairs all around. Thete's also a great space for live music, just the other night it was a full horn section with 10 people playing, very cool. The view is great everywhere outside, very nice. The spaghetti fra Diablo is excellent and the homemade salad dressings are crazy good. Helena is a great waitress and with fabulous cocktails, great view & terrific live music, well we loved our night here. FYI The bushwhackers are absolutely amazing, lots of hand packed ice cream, no mixes here, all done with care. Seriously the best anywhere!!

We were a party of 6 on Saturday 5/11/19 the wait was 59 minutes @ 6:15 PM. The Atmosphere was great next to water. 2 out of 6 was great a pizza & Filet was good & the rest was poor quality only ate 1/3 of our meals. Grilled oysters was the worst we ever had as an appetizer.

Great views. Brunch was spectacular. The only reason I gave a lower score was because we waited 50 minutes for a table in a nearly empty restaurant. Pretty sure they forgot about us. Another thing is we sat outside and the first table was in the shade right up against the building which made it hard for people to sit or be able to get up to go to the buffet. When we asked if we could please move 3 tables together so everyone could be seated comfortably, the hostess said they weren't allowed to move tables. After standing around for another 10 minutes they finally were able to move 3 tables together to accommodate our group.

I went to orange beach for a vacation and their happy hour caught my attention. They were selling oysters for $.75 each. The oysters were a decent size and tasted fresh. Probably the best oysters I've had. The food was great and the view outside was fantastic. Sadly I didnt get to view it at night when it was at its peak. But other than that. I would definitely come here again.

My family believed that going to this restaurant would be a nice experience because of all the positive reviews, but it was exactly the opposite. First, the quantity of food given is minuscule and the prices are inflated. I ordered tuna cooked medium rare for $15, and what I received was 5 chicken nugget-sized piece. And they were barely even seasoned. Second, the orders took almost 30 minutes to arrive, even though only us and 2 other families were present. Third, the waiters rarely ever checked on our table. We could even see them gossiping in the kitchen from where we sat. Honestly, I'd say you will have a better experience just going to Long John Silver's rather than this place, which boasts its "fine dining"

Very nice atmosphere. When the fire is turned on it is so relaxing to set out and watch the boats, listen to the band(when they have one) nice time to go is before six that is when happy hour stops and all drinks are way up. But still a nice place
