We stopped in for lunch and were very pleased. The catfish platter was delicious, lightly beer battered with an amazing dill flavored tartar like sauce. We had the shrimp appetizer and it was also delightful sweet and spicy. We finished our meal with a chocolate cheesecake. The atmosphere was industrial rustic, wait staff was pleasant and attentive (my cup was never empty ;). Would reccomend it for anyone e looking to eat I. Florence,AL.

The food was real good. They have some of the best chicken tenders in town. The service was good, but could've been better. But, our local college, had graduation, so it was understandable. Good decor, real good food, and good service. If you've never been, I would highly recommend it.

I like the food here a LOT, but there is pretty much nothing to eat if you're vegan. The atmosphere is always awesome. Great location. Even when it's crowded the wait usually isn't bad. I like the upstairs bar.

Poor service. Waited 30m for server. She was too busy chatting with co-workers. Food is middling at best....on par with chain restaurants like Applebees or chili's (which is a really low bar). Some of the hole in the wall bbq places in the local area have much better food.

Great food, and service. There was live music when I went and it was very good, but maybe a little too loud. "lunch" portions are available for dinner for those looking for smaller portions of the dinner dishes. Highly reccomend

While the menu may be a little pricey, that doesn't bother me at all. The food is high-quality and creative. The butter that they make here is out of this world. One might say it's butter than sex. The potatoes and veggies were fresh and cooked perfectly. My steak was red and mooing. They know how to do a real rare steak. If you're up for a fun date night or a more special occasion, this is definitely the place to go.

Chicken Marsala was fairly good, and the potato soup was cold when brought out. My main issue was one person in our party had a food allergy and the waitress didn’t really care about it whenever we tried to order. Probably won’t be back.

Ordered a Wedge salad and soup . Mine had brown lettuce throughout so I alerted the waitress they brought me another one .Then soup I ordered was brought to table took a bite tasted burnt looked into soup and big chunks of Black crust from apparently bottom of pan was burnt Called for waitress she asked if there was anything else I wanted I said No Thanks .She sent the manager over he apologized and said it was burnt cheese in bottom of pan and they dumped the pan out and was also sorry about the salad he said he took the soup off the bill and offered us a cookie My husband enjoyed his food he had salad and meatloaf wrapped in bacon . We ordered appetizer of fried green tomatoes they was pretty good ! Pricey place to eat $30 + for our food . We tipped the waitress and left wasn't her fault she was sweet . Manager was Nice too ! Just was disappointed after all the hype of this place both items I ordered wasn't edible .When we was leaving there was a band apparently upstairs that started playing they sounded good as we was leaving .

The guy that owns Ricatoni’s next door also owns this. That place was excellent until they abandoned fresh-ground pepper, great croutons and chilled salad bowls. City Hardware is the next level. They have great bread, burgers and beers on tap. The prices are affordable and they have pepper and salt mills on the tables! Great touch! Get the cookie in the cast-iron skillet for dessert. I didn’t this night because I’m fat and am trying to lose weight.

It was absolutely fabulous as always. Our waiter, Linden, was incredibly attentive, and fulfilled every extra wish of ours quickly, and with an amazing attitude. Compliments to the chef for mine and my husband's food, and to the bartender for my Long Island Ice Tea. Simply spectacular and WILL be back again soon!!

I enjoyed the greeting from my host and server. Server was helpful upon making a menu selection that didn't involve meat. I ordered a ginger ale and fried green tomatoes which have panko on them for breading. I have tried fried green tomatoes from many places. These were cooked good however the flavor was lacking and the buttermilk ranch dressing has to accompany it or it will just be very plain. Other than that it was good. My drink was great! This place seems to have all kind of customers from 0-92 so bring your babies and enjoy a booth. The high chairs are at the bar. They have an upstairs seating also. They 2 tv's in the main seating area. They also have ceiling fans. Enjoy.

Good service, great food, especially the ribs and chicken tenders. The hostess was not that pleasant but the waitress made up for it! We asked to sit upstairs and she said it wasn't open. And sat us by the door, and the very next people that walked in asked to sit upstairs and she said sure! No one left to open a table and there were waitresses going up and down the back stairs. So i knew there were people up there. We felt kinda profiled and probably won't go back. Unfortunate

My wife and I go there with our grandchildren about every 6 months when we visit them. On the last two occasions the service has been poor and the food was OK. On booth occasions we have had to ask for our server or I have had to go to the kitchen area to get help. Not good. The food was OK, but nothing outstanding to go out of your way for.

Yum yum yum!! We went here during a visit to Florence upon recommendation of a local. The food and the atmosphere were great. Our service was ok. Menu was a bit pricy for the "bar food" but the food itself was very good. The chicken tenders are a MUST TRY and the salad was delicious.

I went for the first time Friday night. The wait was short but my husband and I were seated upstairs in the back room which was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. No music, only one other couple in the room. It was awkward. We waited over 5 minutes for a server to even acknowledge our presence. I ordered club soda which I finished halfway through the appetizer (firecracker shrimp) and was never offered a refill. I literally had nothing to drink through my entire entree. She never even stopped at our table until we were completely finished and sat with dirty plates in front of us for 10 minutes. The food was amazing, but was completely overshadowed by the horrible experience.

I've come here several times and always been pleased with the service, atmosphere, selection, presentation, and taste of the experience. This time I identified my first obvious opportunity for improvement. I tried a popular local combination found at several area establishments - ribs and tenders. I've had excellent examples of this regional favorite and expected similar satisfaction from city hardware based on my previous experiences. I have to say that I found the ribs lacking in moistness and tenderness. They were flavored well and the meat did fall off the bone, but it was drier than expected and a little tough compared to ribs at other locations. The chicken tenders were on par with expectations, but not the best that I've sampled. Overall, I'm sad to admit, I was disappointed with this outing. I'll return, but I'll probably stay with the Chef's specialties, and avoid menu options that I would consider "standard fare".

Good place for grabbing a decent meal and having a beer. Burger was a bit on the salty side, but not bad. Caesar salad was good, and they had a good beer selection. They also had live music, which was very good, and made for a nice atmosphere. We sat upstairs, at the bar, which I would choose to do again.

Great atmosphere, great food, brilliant creme brulee! The servers are delightful and the Ahi Tuna is fabulous. If you visit the shoals or Florence, Alabama City Hardware it's the best place downtown for a great meal!

I saw seafood on the marquis out front and thought great . Didn’t really see any So closest thing they had was shrimp and langoustine ravioli. Well couldn’t find and shrimp guess it was mixed in with the ravioli and the on top of that the pasta was tough and chewy. Sauce was good but that was the best of my experience cause it was really expensive for tough chewy ravioli!

Fantastic food! This place is very eclectic. I love the atmosphere, the exposed brick, and the live music at lunch. The food was great. We had the Fried Green Tomato BLT, Chicken Tenders(as heavily suggested from locals), and the cookie skillet for dessert. Everything was delicious! We will be back!

I was VERY impressed with the service and food quality of this establishment! As a vegan, I ordered the Mediterranean veggie flatbread without the blue cheese and added sauteed mushrooms. I added a side of broccoli. Do not order the brussel sprouts (as they come with bacon). I also appreciate them having a rainbow flag by the bar. #LGBTQ love & support

City Hardware is a really neat place. The atmosphere is unique, with an interesting 2 floor setup and a nice aesthetic. The food is interesting and there's a good selection. Food quality is good and the service is good as well. Staff are friendly and helpful and (during lunch at least) usually keep a good eye on your table to keep drinks topped off and to make sure everyone's taken care of. This is one of the places in downtown Florence you should definitely try.

Our waitress was not very attentive or knowledgeable about the menu or what items the kitchen had run out of for the day. Our blackened redfish was overcooked, and the rice that came with it was bland. Our ticket came out to over $45 for lunch, without appetizers, and drinking water. We felt it was pretty overpriced for what it was.

Great locally owned and operated bar with reasonably priced delicious food. I had the pecan crusted catfish and it came with grits, shrimp, and sausage. Perfectly cooked and very mild clean tasting catfish. The upstairs bar area was nice and if the weather was good they could have opened the garage door on the street side. Overall the staff was very nice and attentive. I would recommend this place for anyone passing through town looking for a good bite or place to get a cold drink. Imagine it is popular with the locals too.

$38 steak, great once cooked the second time. Served rare when ordered as medium.$13 Cajon pasta, one of the "better" pastas I've had, but in saying that there wasn't much on the plate. Definatly not worth the money. Won't be going back. Service was great though.

Excellent service and food! Just be prepared if you go on a Sunday--they can't serve alcohol before noon. I don't hold that against them, but it is a downer if you're going for brunch. Regardless, their food is awesome!

I am giving 5 stars because the food was good but the service was phenomenal. Unfortunately it is rare that you come across waiters and other staff that truly want to make sure they get it right so this place was a pleasant surprise. We ordered old fashions to start. The house recipe (not the bar tenders fault) called for way too much sugar and 3 marchino cherries. When we asked our waitress to just get the bourbon neat, the bartender immediately came over to our table to find out how we would like our drinks made. He remade them perfectly. I highly recommend the Brussels sprouts and the house salad. I started to only give 4 stars because our steaks were just not that great and the Ribeyes were more than $30 a piece for a 12 ounce. But the service just put it over the top.
