Literally the best place in town, but also the most expensive. Southern and sophisticated. Perfect for special occasions. Chicken and waffles is to die for during brunch. Only negative thing is that some of their dinner entrees are very small portions especially at $30 price.

Beautiful property, building, and dining area. Rather disappointed with the overall experience though. The 1-page menu was limited and, while the food seemed imaginative, the waitstaff was almost entirely unhelpful when asked for recommendations. Our drinks, ordered with the appetizers, came out after the entree. It seems very little attention is paid to the bar here, despite a wide selection and exorbitant prices. Not enough space between tables in my opinion and it definitely detracts from what could be a great space for a private, romantic dinner. There are a few other options in the Auburn area that I would prefer before I would dine at Acre again & considering the differences in price point, I see no reason to come back.

The food is pretty good. I their defense, I'm vegetarian and they really don't have anything for vegetarians. My companions said the steak was pretty good. Desserts sound really good but miss the flavor mark.

they are racists and we felt discriminated against as the only two minorities in the restaurant. we got to the restaurant right when it opened and they had us wait for a table still. we were one of the first tables to order but we waited a very long time to get out food. People who came in after us got food before us and left before we got our food. when the food finally came out it was cold and we were thoroughly disappointed. i would not recommend.

The combination of atmosphere, fresh, farm to table style ingredients, and elegant menu options give Acre the perfect setup to deliver an amazing dining experience. Unfortunately this restaurant falls flat on execution. Amongst my dining party of seven, we all agreed that our meals lacked flavor and were quite honestly bland given elegant description and hype we had been provided. It was a real disappointment. Worse yet, despite being told that a member of our dining party had a severe dairy allergy the waiter did not convey this to the kitchen and delivered a dish which promptly had to be returned. This individual was forced to wait quite a long time for a replacement dish. While I will give credit that the meal was comped, this is a severe incident that should have never happened. I hope for this restaurants sake that we just happened to come on an off night, but we will not be back.

We have eaten dinner here many times and tried brunch today. As expected, everything was absolutely wonderful!! Generous portions and awesome service. We enjoyed the pimento cheese appetizer and the charcuterie board. My husband had the chicken and waffles (awesome!) and I had the salmon Benny (SO good). The Rose Gin Fizz is definitely the best drink in my opinion. The dessert was fabulous...I could live off the salted butter ice cream! Can't wait to go back!!!

Great service and atmosphere. Geared more for the older crowd. Southern fancy. My wife and I had the ribeye special that cost 38 per plate, got to say the flavor was just not there. The vegies had more flavor than the ribeye. We came here to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. For the price, I was expecting a tasty feast, but was let down. The ball was dropped. Our waitress said that the steaks hadn't been up to par lately with being cooked correctly as she brought out our steaks and that's when I felt we made a mistake ordering the special. If we ever came back would just be for the bar

Hostesses were not attentive. We waited about 10 minutes for a table for 3 (with elderly customers) and there was no line. Hostesses talked amongst themselves but were not friendly toward guests. Food was interesting and fairly tasty but definitely not worth the price. The table was set with bread plates but bread does not come with your meal. (This frustrated one of the elderly people at our table). Waiter was polite but did not make up for the mediocrity of our dining experience. A disappointing dining experience overall. We will not be back.

Acre has become rather mediocre. The menu and the preparation used to be more interesting, with a wow factor. We had dinner there last night. The appetizer sampler and quail were tasty, but the mains (especially the snapper) were fairly generic. Disappointing. Nice wine list, but cocktails might benefit from an update.

On of the best meals we've had. Traveled to Auburn from Columbus but it was worth it. Hubby got the special of the day, Seared Diver Scallops and I had the Duck Breast with goat cheese risotto. What a great meal for both of us. Jessica was a fantastic server for our evening, very attentive and accommodating. Nice ambience with quant dining. We'll definitely be back!

Go! Casual atmosphere, fine dining (with an iron chef!). Local seasonal ingredients, regularly changing menu, full bar, and more wine than you can shake a stick at. We got the goat cheese guacamole, beef tartare, duck, ribeye, peanut butter pie, and chocolate banana cake, with a bottle of machete. All of it was perfect. Staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

This was an excellent restaurant to eat. The food was great, and well porportioned. The cocktails were amazing, they make a great ole fashioned as well. Also make really great gin drinks! We came here for my mothers birthday and the chef came out to say Hello and gave us some tasters of their meat platter. Really awesome place, atmosphere is more dressed than casual but I did see some casual people there. My only complaint was that the hostess staff was a little rude to our party when we were figuring out seating and that quickly went away as we met our wonderful waitress and kitchen staff.

First time here. Quality is good but $40 for an average filet? Just can’t see it. Duck breast good. Pasta special dish was good but again, not justifying the price. There are other better restaurants around. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the drinks and the bar, but a bit over priced. Good luck!!!

Good atmosphere. Good food. The only reason I gave three stars is because when I went there for the first time I was humiliated. I didn't make the reservation because I didn't know. I was willing to wait so I asked the hostess how long the wait was gonna be, and she said "you could wait, only if you are willing to sleep here for the weekends." I mean if you are that busy, she could've just told me it's not possible to eat without the reservation. I was surprised by her sarcastic attitude.

Acre has a lovely ambiance, farm to table appeal and the drinks are reliably very good. However, the food is hit and miss depending on the night - and for the prices, I would expect more of a consistent delivery on quality and taste. Also, the reception at the hostess station is not always "welcoming" and there are times where an air of pretentious nature is appreciated when walking into the establishment. The wait staff; however, is always very friendly and knowledgable.

Very nice restaurant with nice ambiance. We were seated in atrium area adjacent to main road however never knew the road was there. Our server, Kris was excellent and personable. Knew the menu and offered time for questions. We started with the oak sampler which consisted of freshly made cheeses, meats, and a couple pickled fruits. Three of us haddifferhas dishes and he wasn't joking when I was told my prime rib meatloaf was big...buy very tasty. My wife had the grilled cheese, and our niece the chicken fried chicken which looked very good especially with the French green beans. For desert we each had a scoop of the home made ice cream...next time I might start with that! All in all a nice afternoon with time to have a good, reasonably priced meal and time to catch with our niece who is studying at Auburn. Also they have complimentary valet parking which is great on a game day. Highly recommend Acres.

There is plenty of great service at this restaurant from the time you drive up and pass your vehicle off to the complimentary valet. The cheese board was a tasty, light starter to our meal. The Gulf Red Snapper was a delicious entree. I will go back.

I am giving it a 4 star review instead of 5 because our lunch took a really long time to come out, even though the dining room was fairly empty. Food is hands down 5 star. But the service can definitely be improved. It took 30 minutes to receive coffee. We came when it opened and asked for a table for 6. We got a table that was too small and had to ask for a bigger table once it became uncomfortable. Once we got a different server the service dramatically changed. I'm not sure if they're working with training new employees. But they need to be consistent and know how to handle customers. Hopefully this can improve the atmosphere was great and would make me want to come back.

This place is incredibly delicious, but expensive. The portion size are on the smaller side compared to what I would prefer. you pay for the ambience and for the local sourcing of food. Drinks are good although not particularly unique. The chef loves to play around with dishes and usually creates some interesting and creative combinations.

Acre, I hate to rank you four stars when you are clearly aiming to be a five-star establishment, but you juuuust weren't quite there. Solid farm-to-table fare, but consistently unremarkable, with a bit of over-salting thrown in the mix. For these prices, I expect top-notch freshness and an explosion of flavor in my mouth. Everything was solid, but nothing wowed. I am saddened, dear Acre, by the distinct lack of explosions.

An absolutely amazing experience. Acre is my FAVORITE restaurant in Auburn and it never disappoints. I love that all of the food is locally grown- and you can tell in the quality. I had the brussel sprouts, $6. Skip em. Zero flavor. I make em better at home. Entree coffee rubbed beef tenderloin. So Awesome! To the chefs! Cheers! Bar service poor. When the bartender is leaning on the bar talking and you're waiting... Not good. I had to ask for service more than once. Didn't ask about my food until half way thru with meal. Atmosphere super nice. I would go back but not for bar.

I had been salivating over this restaurant for several months. My fiance and I drove down from Birmingham and caught a late lunch. It was phenomenal. We never ordered an entree. We had two appetizers, drinks, and dessert and that was perfect. The flavors were to die for. Service was really good also. Can't wait to go back!

The $14 burger was honestly worth it, and I normally don't say that for simple hamburgers over $10. Also the lemon rose gin cocktail I had was absolutely delicious. Has a truly unique feel to it and well worth the visit! Their food is interesting, especially for Auburn. A lot of things I've never heard of before nor tried. They have a cute little garden outside as well. Ambiance is truly second-to-none. It has that cozy 1800s cottage feel to it. Servers are decent. Food tastes fantastic. Probably the #1 place I'd recommend in Auburn!

Not going again, overrated! Some of the meals were sub par and service was lacking in protocol. Based on last 5 visits, most recently Dec and January with out of town visitors. Called and left details of problems with December visit, no return call received. Brunch was good for Mother's Day.

Acre came highly recommended online and did not disappoint in person. From the French Countryside Farmhouse feel and excellent dishes to the staff and service we were very pleased. Acre is our new favorite spot for lunch in Athens. For those visiting, make sure to reserve a spot in the glassed porch area, we saw it when we arrived and plan on sitting there next time we go, though the inside is great as well.
