Joe Mitchell and Mitchell Cheverolet are fantastic! My wife and I travel fulltime in an RV. While traveling through the area, we encountered a long steep grade, our Chevy dually decided to take a break in the middle of the road... Fortunately we were able to let it cool down and found Mitchell Chevrolet was 30 miles from our location. This happened late on Sunday afternoon, so we headed over to Marlinton and spent the night parked near the dealership. First thing Monday morning we pulled into Mitchell Chevrolet and were met by Joe Mitchell, the owner. He couldn't have been nicer nor more accommodating. Although a bit shorthanded due to a few of his folks taking summer vacation, Joe personally ran a diagnostic on the dually, but found everything seemed to be functioning properly. To be certain that we would be safe going forward, Joe insisted on taking, first the truck solo and then hitched to the 5th wheel, for a road test on a long 8% grade local road. Again, everything checked out fine which put our minds at ease. Meanwhile, back at the dealership, my wife struct up a conversation with a fellow named Brian. After some conversation, Brian mentioned that he works at Mitchell Chevrolet in the sales department. He was very helpful in describing the best way to travel in the surrounding hills and grades to our intended destination of Caanan Valley Resort. I too spoke with Brian, mainly about our truck as well as inquiring about what changes were coming on the 2020 Chevy 3500 HD as we are interested in upgrading from our 2015. Brian proved be be both extremely knowledgeable but unlike ANY car salesman I have ever encountered before, didn't try to sell us anything... Based on our experience today, if our travels bring us back to the area around the time we replace our truck, I would go way out of our way to purchase it from Brian and Joe Mitchell of Mitchell Chevrolet. They are that good. For the record, I rarely write a review, but felt compelled to shed a positive light on the great experience we encountered with this dealership.

This service department went above and beyond for me. I had some ice form in my coolant lines of my diesel truck and they took me right in and used heaters to help me free to coolant lines. Made driving back to South Carolina doable since I didn’t have heat and it was -2 degrees.

Two reasons for this post. It appears General Motors no longer responds to handwritten letters and I have a zero tolerance for abusers, especially cowards that use even the smallest amount of authority to do so. Sponsored by G.M. throughout my college education and employment, I’m a retired G.M. certified flat rate technician. With blind trust for a G.M. authorized dealer, 4yrs and over $10,000 I was questioning myself if Mitchell Chevrolet of Marlinton W.V. was overcharging me. I knew the work they were performing on my vehicle was not up to G.M. standards. Wanting to support local business, I decided to give Mitchell Chevrolet a last chance. I went in with a job a professional technician would call gravy. While getting an estimate a mechanic was close by and warned me of extra charges that could occur and why. He lied. I ordered the parts and waited to schedule until I spoke with Joe Mitchell. I met with Joe a few days later. Expecting to have a professional conversation like gentlemen, I was wrong. Joe started lying about what could go wrong that he would have to charge extra for. As soon as I reminded Joe of my credentials he knew I caught him trying to fraud me. Like a flip of a switch Joe turned into someone I never expected. He began to tremble and shake. With a scared shaking voice (like a boy standing up to his dad for the first time) he said a few things and ended with Go F””K yourself and do it yourself. As I was shocked and speechless he asked if I heard him, then repeated the last statement. Concerned for my safety and of those in the dealership, I had to defuse the situation quickly. Fortunately I have many years experience dealing with the psychotic and mentally unstable. I used those skills on Joe Mitchell. I remained extremely calm and acted complacent. Affording Joe the illusion he was in control, I was able to calm him down and make a peaceful exit. I am requesting G.M. perform a detailed investigation/audit of this authorized dealer. I pray G.M. uses their full authority and resources to do so. I have tried getting help from other G.M. dealers and was told I have to return to mitcHELL Chevrolet. An employee at one dealer mentioned a support group should be started for victims of Mitchell Chevrolet. Another dealer thought they heard G.M. was ending their relationship with mitchell because they weren’t earning enough money. If it is true you threatened to close them for lack of income, did you G.M. authorize Mitchell’s to fraud and abuse your customers for financial gain? If you did please notify me in writing. I will promptly and without question submit an apology to Mitchell Chevrolet. You (G.M.) may also want to consider a psychological evaluation for Joe not only for his own personal safety and quality of life, but for the customers who trust General Motors to provide an Honorable, SAFE environment to have their vehicles serviced.

We, my wife and I, were amazed at the fast, friendly, competent service. When we arrived, we were met in the parking area immediately by a member of the service dept. It was the best service that I have ever received at any dealership, and I have been a GM customer since I bought my first Pontiac in 1968 as I graduated from college (47 years). They kept me informed of my choices, the time frame of the work being done, and I was having two GMC cars worked on. The dealership is attractive, automated and everyone is friendly. One of my cars involved a recall, and it was quickly taken care of at this Chevrolet dealer. Since my local GMC dealer closed, I have tried three GM dealers, and this one is hands down the best. I was happy with the former GMC dealer, so I am glad to find one in my county that is so organized and professional. My wife shares my opinion. Bruce McKean

Have only bought one car from them and it isn’t running to good. I found other places have same car even newer ones for less. Will never purchase a used car again from here, and most like never buy a new one either. Everyone I talk to that bought a vehicle there told me they paid way more there then all other places. But they never checked around first, or a few people had to by there cause they do their own financing and let people finance a car that can’t finance one anywhere else. Just check around 1st!
