I had to rent a car last minute for a work trip and they got me a car Sunday afternoon when everywhere else in town was closed. The car was in good condition and drove well, and they didn't charge me a late fee when I was a couple hours late bringing it back. Very friendly and efficient service. I will be renting here again!

This place was a blessing to me. My brand new car broke down and left us stranded while traveling out of town. The local dealership wouldn’t help me because it was after hours, all the local dealerships were about to close and wouldn’t help us. Our only hope was this place. They gave us a rental and got us back on the road. So thankful for them working extended hours to help my baby, my mom, and myself from being stranded. I would have missed my job interview out of state if I had not gotten a rental from them.

My husband and I were taking a washer and dryer to our rental property, with our little girl riding happily in her car seat, when the wheel came flying off another car in the opposing lane of traffic and bopped our poor minivan right in the nose, puncturing both her radiators, annihilating her fan assembly and crunching her bumper like a potato chip. With no notice but a phonecall and no time to make arrangements save a cab ride, Continental arranged a rental minivan for us, even folding down the seats and making sure we had an easy time getting our toddler's car seat installed. We were able to meet our damaged minivan at the body shop, pick up the appliances and complete our mission to bring our tenants a nice washer and dryer with hardly any delay, considering we'd been in a terrifying wreck with a small child. But that's just the beginning of how Continental helped us. As working parents, small-time landlords and amateur hobbyists, we rely absolutely on our minivan, and Continental quickly and efficiently worked with our insurance to make sure that we had an equal or better rental for the duration of the repair work. Said rental was ten years newer than ours, in fact, so clean we could have eaten off of it if we'd liked, in beautiful condition and with the ideal fold-down seats that make minivans so popular with busy landladies and happy toddlers. It was even an agreeable color, the sound system was excellent and it smelled brand-new. Our little girl hardly realized that something bad had happened, so fast was Continental's response and ability to instantly solve our problems. Some of my earliest memories are of a terrifying car accident my own parents suffered when I was about her age, you see, and I remember my mother on the phone with a different rental company, sounding frustrated and concerned, and I remember how worried she and my Dad sounded. My own daughter, instead of suffering nightmares and fear from this unfortunate car accident, has instead learned that friendly policemen, cheerful tow truck drivers, patient Allstate claims handlers, clever body work mechanics (try Top Gun Auto Body in Elkton,) and the kind, understanding people at Continental Rent A Car, why, such people can and will save the day, even when the unimaginable happens to the family minivan. She even waved bye-bye and said goodnight to the rental minivan once we had ours back from the body shop, which shows how much she appreciated it in her own right. I've had accidents happen before, but not since I've been a parent, and the help we got from Continental made a potential nightmare scenario into an amusing family anecdote and a happy memory. We also know exactly where we'll be sending friends whenever they need a rental car. I honestly can't recommend them enough.

Traveling from PA to Florida, my van decided to have a major malfunction. Upon a quick google search, I found continental with the only Sunday hours. Harold went above and beyond to help me out, even though it was during a Sunday afternoon. He did absolutely everything he could to make sure I would be able to get to my destination. The rental was clean and in great condition. Highly recommend these guys for anyone needing a rental. Very satisfied customer!

My girlfriend and I were traveling through and planning to camp at Shenandoah when our timing belt snapped climbing up to Skyline Drive by Swift Run Gap. It was Sunday, and maybe 7 or 8pm when we got towed by Layman's Automotive (Highly recommended), and all the car rental places were closed. AAA found Continental for us, and I decided to try calling, and miraculously, Howard picked up. I'm not sure, but I believe they were closed for the night, which is understandable at that hour and on that day. He was out shopping with his family, and hearing a chance to help a couple of stranded folks 6 hours from home, he cut his shopping short and drove straight to meet us at the lot- with his family in tow! The car was perfect, and he even had a couple of options for us. He was understanding that we wouldn't know how long the repair would take, and worked with us on the rate, depending on how long we would be stranded. It is certainly a scary experience being several states from any place you recognize, and Howard (and many of the other good folks of Harrisonburg) helped make us feel like we weren't all alone out there. Highly recommended. I am not one to be prone to hyperbole, but 5 stars is not enough. We are extremely grateful to Howard and Tracy and all of Continental Rent a Car, and can only hope their good example set an example for other businesses.

The Only Game In Town

Above and beyond customer service that you can't find at bigger brands. We broke down in Virginia on a long trip and the owner opened up for us at 9pm to rent us a van. He charged us fair prices even though he knew we would pay anything he asked for. I highly recommend using Continental because you are guaranteed to get a fair price and great service.

I have enjoyed renting from Continental Rent A Car for the past year or so. They have WONDERFUL customer service and work very hard to be sure that you have a vehicle when you need one. The best thing about Continental is that they rent to college-aged students.Major rental companies won't rent to under-25s, but Continental has no problem with young, insured, and licensed people renting their vehicles. That was my original reason for renting with them and I'm so glad I found them. They have very reasonable prices, offer insurance on the rental, and always provided me with a great car. Their Honda Elantras are my favorite and I always seem to get one. Haha, guess they've figured out what I like. Easy to find, right off of the 243 exit from 81, and incredibly helpful, I highly recommend renting from Continental Rent A Car. Enjoy your rental and thank you to Continental for everything!
