I will never ever go their again. I made my reservations in Norfolk Virginia. When I got to south bend Indian my stuff was so messed up I had to get a cab to my hotel the person in south bend was so nasty and rud. And didn't want to help me I went home for my grand mother service. I didn't have a car to get to the service

HORRIBLE SERVICE! Was asked to reset a reservation on my phone as I’m standing right in the store. So why have anyone actually working there? Guy working not very helpful at all. Not in the slightest way was I able to receive any information about my rental. Highly suggest you pay a few extra bucks to get any type of quality service.

DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE!! I reserved a 12-passenger van over 6 months in advance. There was no way to contact the location in advance, and of course, my van was not there after my 6-hour plane trip and $10 Uber to the offsite location. The staff here was absolutely USELESS! They told me that there was nothing that they could do and no one that they could call, leaving me to deal with Budget's toll-free number. USELESS!

The worst customer service ever. Try to find a different place for your peace of mind. I booked for the full size (Malibu or similar), but they didn't have that size of vehicle in their lot, so I received the intermediate car (Corolloa). It is acceptable, but I don't know why I have to pay more for the smaller vehicle. The price went up to change the size of vehicle on their system, and the officer wasn't able to figure out why it happened and how to fix it.

Horrible experience! Dont waste your time dealing with this location. Reserved a car, traveled over an hour to pick up to be told they did not have that car available but i could pay an upgrade fee for another vehicle...what a scam. Dealt with two different woman, who both were rude and unprofessional. The office is run down and in need of cleaning

I just rent a green Ford Fiesta for a one way trip which it was about 1100 miles. I took the car in 10 minutes and everything was perfect. The bluetooth and the display help me a lot during my trip and I was surprised that they this extras in a small class like that. The car was perfect and I had an average of 34 mpg. It had only 20.000 miles on it. A great choice all in all. The only thing I did is pay for the tolls otherwise the rental company will charge a convenience fee if you let them process the tolls.

Rented a car from this location that smelled like smoke and had been damaged. They were unresponsive when I returned the car and asked for a refund and they just kept saying they would talk to our manager. Horrible and incompetent. Do yourself a favor and dont rent from this location.

I made a reservation I was told they dnt have cars available..They refused to put me in another car truck etc. I took a Lyft here I was told there's nothing we can do for u go to the airport!!! I had called the local Seattle downtown Budget office a month prior to renting the minivan requested. I was told that Budget provides minivans that allow the 2nd and 3rd row seats to fold away into the floor, and that given the season, there would be plenty of Town and Country (T&C) minivans available even if they had to request one from the airport. Upon inquiring 3 days and even the day before picking up the minivan from the Seattle location, I was told there was no guarantee the T&C would be available, only a minivan seating 7 people. The local agent said I could cancel if I wasn't happy with that. I explained my needs again and was flabbergasted at her response to consider cancelling considering a month earlier she told me the vehicle would be available. That was not good service, that was the opposite of such! Her manager was of no assistance either and seemed annoyed at my request and questioning the company's policy. I called Budget corporate finally reaching a supervisor (Dave?) who worked with me and offered to call other Seattle rental locations to find the T&C needed. He called me back in a few minutes to state that the original location I worked with was able to obtain the proper vehicle as per my original request. His input and care for my needs was the reason. So, my issue is with the lack of service from the personnel at the local office and with Budget for their policies. Why rent vehicles that allow seats to fold away and then offer Kia Sorrentos or Toyota Siennas as substitutes that don't allow this and thus cause frustration for the consumer. Separate the vehicle categories and be a patron of customer satisfaction. As for the vehicle itself, the T&C was excellent and I would definitely rent such again BUT ONLY if I was assured it was available.

When I picked up the rental I was talked into getting a upgrade and I was told I'd get a discount. Rented the upgrade car for a month and only received a 20.00 discount. When brought the car back the Rep charged the wrong card for the return rental and told me there was nothing he could do about it. Wasn't able to get another rental because of the wrong card being charged and I had to call a ride home. My car is in the shop and I've been renting from them for about 2mths and this is how I was treated. Left with no transportation to get to work. Thats not valuing a loyal customer.

Never rent from here! Reserved 2 cars, got a confirmation email. Went to the location to pick them up. Walked in and the lady said you don't have reservations without looking at her computer. I said I have an email with a confirmation number. She told me that doesn't mean anything. I said it means reserved. She said I need to learn to read the fine print. I said why would you book a reservation and send a confirmation number if you didn't have any cars. She said does it look like I have cars. How am I supposed to know what her inventory is? Went down the road to the airport and one car each from National and enterprise. Done in 10 minutes. Very polite and professional and those two places unlike this business. Sent out an email to my 1250 coworkers advising them not to use budget any more. Run from this place.

I reserved a truck rental to pick up at 8am on 10/21. I received confirmation of the reservation and arranged to have moving help at my house at 9am. When I arrived to pick up the rental the boy behind the counter claimed they just found out that the inventory was unavailable. He wrote down an address for a different location further away where he had transferred my reservation. I am fairly certain this gentleman doesn’t value his job or having return customers because he was rude, arrogant, and basically shrugged his shoulders at me acting like it was inconveniencing him that I bothered to show up that morning. Needless to say, we left and headed toward the alternative location. The person working at that location informed us that although they had transferred my reservation they did not have a truck available. Apparently the boy transferred us to the wrong location. It took nearly two hours to pick up a truck from over 15miles further away than my original reservation. Not only did this cost my additional mileage and time, but it delayed the start of moving and everyone who I had scheduled to be at my house. I can understand that sometimes things happen; however, don’t waste your time with this location. If they are willing to staff their desk with someone who doesn’t care about their customers then they clearly don’t care either.

First of all, when I contacted this store during the day to make a reservation, I was transferred to a national costumer service line, which every agent speaks so broken Enlish, I hardly can understand them. This morning I walk into the store, finding the representative Whitney leaning over the counter. Mind you, I brought in both, my new temporary license and my still valid license. When she told me she can't accept my Identification, I just looked at her and asked her in a stern voice of she was serious. Needless to say, I walked out, without having cursed at her, and asked my girlfriend to be taking over in her name. When I returned 2 minutes later, I was told I was no longer welcome in store for being rude, which at that point I did show her how rude veterans can get for being mistreated. I would suggest to pay more for the right treatment. Oh by the way Whitney, I will still have a talk with your manager.

Terrible! They only had one employee so I stood inline to pickup rental car for about 45 minutes they didn’t have the vehicle I reserved. Also the place is filthy and the ac filters are clogged. We were told by customer service that we would have to pay $180 more to pick-up the same vehicle we rented from the airport location.

Pool customer service, they charge additional fees from your deposit without any email or text explanation. Be careful that they actually close the door a few minute before “closing time” and they don’t accept after hour drop. Make no sense.

My review is not to bad talk about the company but I had a very unpleasant experience there with the team. It first started with the woman at the counter. I waited to explain my issues with the owner/manager she explained to me, she will believe whatever her worker said. Never hearing me out completely because she cut me off with what was told to her. I decided to explain my issues with the corporate office.

I would give this location a negative if I could ! I’ve been to this location so many times(mainly because it’s the closest). It’s a different experience every time. I can say I’ve only had two smooth visits. One visit, they didn’t have a car for my reservation. The woman didn’t offer any solutions or alternatives. Just a ‘we don’t have it and check back later’. Another time she rented us a car that had half a tank of gas and marked it down as full. My husband told her it was not full but she still expected it to be returned with a full tank. We had to call customer service. This last visit, she didn’t have any cars again and just said ‘we have some returns at 12 so give us a call later. We still won’t have the kind you reserved though.’ I had to call customer service again just to cancel my reservation and find somewhere else that had a car. I should have known better but god this location is horrible and unprofessional. The woman who works there is not good with dealing with customers. She just doesn’t care. Its always a toss up if you’re even going to get what you want and if you’re even going to get it on time.

Made reservations, I called a ride to take me to pickup the car and when I got there they did not have no car available. First of all, why let make reservation if there is no cars available. Then I ask can I pick it up at the airport, they wanted me to pay another $90 dollars. Why do I have to travel further away to go get the car and pay more. They should of never wasted my time and my rider time to take me there. This is ridiculous. 0% courtesy.

Just literally go an extra mile to the Avis actually at the airport and save yourself a lot of headache. I reserved a van for a trip 35 days in advance. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, I was told me there were no vans available. When I asked why, they politely told me it was probably due to the fact that someone had "forgotten to do the paper work last night". The next biggest vehicle was given to me at the same price, so two members of our party now could not fit. I'm not a clean freak, but the interior of the car provided wasn't vacuumed (lots of crumbs in cup holders and dirt on the floor). On the plus side, the staff that was there when I showed up were very friendly.

This owner lady seems nice, but don't let her fool you. BUDGET STOLE MY MONEY, yes stole, beaucoup $$ dollars right out of my bank account without so much as a heads-up, a phone call or a letter or a billing invoice, or a receipt... or proof of anything, actually. And the worst part is that this theft occurred ALMOST TWO MONTHS AFTER the car was returned to them! Let me explain. I rented/reserved this vehicle online and when arriving at the location used a check card. The rental was extended once or twice successfully, and appropriate additional charges were withdrawn directly from the bank account. No problem. That's how it works when you use a check card. Then I needed another extension, so I called and had to leave a message because no one was available. I tried calling and calling to no avail. You can't extend online either. So, I had to leave a message for the branch. A day or two later, I received a return voicemail saying that everything was fine. Fast forward a few days and next thing I know I'm in my garage and some very large man is walking up my driveway toward me. He does NOT ask my permission to walk straight to me on private property, and ignores my repeated requests for his identity and what he was doing there. I have a very long driveway, so believe me there was plenty of time for him to answer. He gets up in my face and says that Budget has been trying to call me for a week. I said well I don't have any calls from Budget except for the extension OK. Remember, I had left a message with my phone number to call back about an extension. They had granted it. I asked him what number they have been calling because it certainly wasn't my number? He gave me 2 phone numbers they were trying to use to call me. Guess what? The phone numbers were over 10 years old!!! I told him that was absurd! These numbers, where did they get them from? They are a decade old! He did not know. He tried to find out, but the company could not provide that information and he was under the gun to get the car back to the branch. Remember, when I reserved the vehicle online, I had to provide my current phone number. So how they got those old phone numbers, I can only surmise that they had access to an old account from all that time ago? I don't even know how their systems work, but it seems ridiculous that they cannot provide you with a bill copy six months after the rental closes, yet they can store phone numbers for over 10 years??! Just doesn't pass the smell test. Anyway, I let him take the car of course, and I tried calling the branch to no avail again. I checked my bank card statement and they had withdrawn the additional week. That's fine with me. OK case closed, right? No. Not so fast. Nearly 2 months later, yes 60 days almost, there was a massive withdrawal from my checking account. Add that to the previous charges, and they overcharged me by about a factor of four times. Yes that's four times the amount that it should've been. I was dumbfounded, stupefied and very, very upset. I called my bank immediately. They started an investigation. Almost 2 months later, the bank concluded that Budget had failed to provide proof and/or proper documentation to substantiate the final withdrawl and returned my money to me. They told me that the case was closed, and I was protected. Apparently, Budget didn't even bother disputing the bank's and Visa's ruling, nor did they provide any documentation whatsoever to prove their claim. Soo....Again, case closed, right? Not! Just this week, I received a nasty letter from some collections agency saying that my account was seriously delinquent and claimed that I owed Budget that same exorbitant quadruple payment. Yes. Believe it. And once again, no proof. Be warned Budget at 1700 Norview Ave., Norfolk, VA, I will be filing every single complaint inevery forumavailable, and will be reporting you to the police. My attorney will be calling. And no, this is not my real name. I'm trying to protect my privacy from the likes of you.

I reserved a truck two weeks ago from this location. I went there this morning and they had no trucks available. I wasn't the only one e either. Seems they have no problem taking the reservation but keeping the reservation is a problem. Stick to U-HAUL folks they have a $50.00 guarantee. Budget, you suck.

Great location to pick up a car rental near the convention center and walking distance from Pike Street Market. Excellent staff. Saved money from renting at the airport due to airport taxes. Would highly recommend using this Budget location.

TERRIBLE! ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! BUDGET CUSTOMER BEWARE!!! I'm a Fast Break customer and I use Budget often for my job - lots of travel. I went to Budget this morning @ 1700 Norview Ave with a 7:15 AM pickup time, with a long day ahead of me. What was supposed to be a quick normal pickup turned into the worst rental car experience I've ever had! I had a Budget Rental Certificate I received with points I earned from traveling. This ridiculous ignorant power trip woman would not accept my certificate because I didn't have "a letter" that stated the certificate was mine! Really? When you buy a dept. store gift card or a coffee shop gift card, do you also carry a letter which says the gift card is for you? with your name on it? It was like I stepped into the twilight zone of Budget Rental hell! "Renting with Budget has never been more rewarding!"...not with this Budget Rental employee!. She claimed she is "the store operator" protecting Budget/Avis - from what? a Fast Break customer with a valid rental certificate? No where on the certificate does it state the certificate must be accompanied by a "letter" stating the certificate is for you! The certificate has "CUSTOMER SERVICE REP INSTRUCTIONS" on it, doesn't say anything about a letter!!!! The 1800BUDGET service also said the same. After being rejected by her, I called the 1800BUDGET number and confirmed my certificate was valid and asked what this crazy condescending woman was talking about. I went back inside and she even spoke with the 1800BUDGET rep, and invoked her "QUEEN OF THE BUDGET RENTAL LAW" in her Budget Rental Kingdom! DENIED!!! Needless to say, I left walking instead of picking up my rental in shock and disgust. I had to switch my reservation to Budget at Norfolk Airport and WALK!!!! 1/2 mile to the airport and pickup my rental. The Budget at Norfolk Airport were GREAT!!! all smiles, took my Budget Rental certificate - no problem. I told them what happened to me at the other BUDGET and why I was there. They apologized for the ignorance I had to deal with and so did the 1800BUDGET customer service department! Thank you for that. I may still use Budget, just not at 1700 Norview Ave! BEWARE BEWARE - CUSTOMER BEWARE!!!! UNBELIEVABLE THIS PERSON WORKS AT BUDGET IN CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! On the BUDGET WEBSITE: Car Rental Certificates Easy to purchase, easy to give - unless you try to rent from this BUDGET! In Summary: Next time, instead of giving a wrapped present, surprise that special someone with a car rental certificate for a sporty convertible or luxury car. Budget rental car certificates, available in U.S. currency, can be used all across America!- Just not with this Budget Rental, you better also have a letter! Note: When a rental certificate is redeemed, the renter must present a valid credit card in the renter's name. A credit hold will be placed on the card for the rental. Upon return of the rental car, the certificate may be redeemed toward the cost of the car rental. Once purchased, rental certificates -- and any unused portion of the redeemed certificate -- are not refundable. - DOESN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT ALSO HAVING A LETTER! Budget corporate should investigate this location and their practices!
