We rented a 4 door Jeep Rubicon from Rugged for our trip down to Moab and Capitol Reef. High marks all around. Great Shuttle service and friendly customer service at both pick up and drop off. I highly recommend Rugged for any Salt Lake City vehicle rental. We had reserved a Hard top jeep and were pleasantly surprised to get a very nicely equipped Rubicon.

I rented a Jeep Cherokee from Rugged a few weeks ago in a bid to explore the Escalante and Capitol Reef. Rugged was very affordable and the only place I found with vehicles that could be driven on unpaved roads. The car was wonderful and I was unbelievably impressed by Rugged Rentals. I had an issue halfway through my trip and I am very grateful for the way they handled the situation. These people go above and beyond in order to take care of their customers and make renting from them a wonderful and very affordable experience. They are flexible and courteous, and you can really tell they care about their customers. Because of the issue I had, it is more than likely that they lost money on my trip. However, they have gained a customer for life. I recommend exploring Utah with Rugged, and can honestly not imagine how another agency could be any better.

This rental outfit is outstanding. We are a pipeline contractor company who rented a pair of Jeeps for several hundred miles of pipeline reconnaissance and the Jeeps stood up to the task flawlessly. We could not have done the job nearly as efficiently without the vehicles offered by Rugged. Beyond the vehicles being top-notch, the service and staff were far more personable and helpful than the typical big-name car rental companies that make you feel more like a number than a human being. The staff were very caring of our needs, friendly, and supportive of our work mission. Even the fellow who drove the shuttle to and from the airport was outstandingly friendly and helpful. We look forward to returning to Rugged Rental for our rental needs for future work in the SLC area.

Car we rented worked out great. But the bike rack had seen better days. Had to stop frequently on our drive to tighten straps holding bike, if we hadn't the bike would have fallen off. Told office staff when returned vehicle and they commented they would make a note. I think a credit of some kind would have been appropriate in this case for the inconvenience. Update to my review. I was contacted by Rugged manager today after hearing about my dissatisfaction with the bike rack and they have since offered me a credit. Thank you to the management, I appreciate that they investigated the rack and have since ordered replacement parts. Thanks again. We will certainly rent again from Rugged Rental.

Oct 2018 - Rugged Rental is an honest rental car agency. As a customer you will be treated fairly, and respectfully. The agents are good, helpful, and honest people. The sedan I rented was priced to compete with Avis/Hertz, and much less expensive than Alamo/National/Enterprise.

Rented a Grand Jeep Cherokee for roughly a month and couldn't be happier with the car or the service. Airport pick up and drop off was smooth and quick. The Jeep itself was barely 2 months old, in fantastic condition and great value. Would certainly rent with Rugged again when returning to SLC.

Made a reservation to rent a 4WD for the week of Jan 12th to ski up at Park City, arrived at Salt Lake Airport and gave them a call. They (the shuttle) arrived in about 10 minutes picked us up and went to their office, we where in and out in about 10 minutes in a new 2014 Jeep Patriot with just over 1000 miles on it. Return was just as fast and effortless, with a drop off right at the Delta Sky Cap to check our luggage and get our boarding passes. Price was well below all the national outfits, great customer service by very outgoing employees! Give them a try.

After a short shuttle van drive from the airport we picked up our van and we were on our way. Very easy process for an after hours pickup. Let me update what they did to me. Throughout the rental process I got 3 different rate quotes. After all was said and done they still charged me almost $40 than was quoted originally. They love to throw hidden fees at you. I didn't bust the 800 miles they provided, I returned the vehicle with more than a "full" tank, I vacuumed and wiped the interior down so I tried to be a judicious renter only to get shafted with higher after hour fees than was quoted originally. I told them when I would be picking up and dropping off the vehicle but they still shafted me anyway. If you don't mind getting shafted, this company is great, but if you like to have your quote honored, they aren't so great. I had to email and call them to get a final receipt. They are just a hassle to deal with.

These people were awesome!! They were super friendly and quite a bit cheaper than the airport rental places. We had to call to get their free shuttle to their business. But we saved at least %25 and they were so nice to us. We rented a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and we had absolutely no problems with anything. They even offered us a free cooler to borrow for our trip. I highly recommend them.

Wow! Van was waiting for us at airport when our flight landed in Salt Lake City. A quick 5 minute drive and we were at Rugged Rental where a group of friendly professionals took care of our luggage and packed our rental with our luggage and after a quick signature we were off. We had a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was loaded and had everything we needed, including a heavy duty ice scraper that we used everyday and sometimes twice daily. Returning the car and returning to the airport was just as pleasant. Thanks for a great vacation. Added bonus: when my husband was about to board the plane he realized he forgot his sunglasses in the Jeep. A quick call to Rugged Rental and they already had them and took down our address and returned them to us at no charge. Now that is going the extra mile. Will definitely use them again and tell all my friends about Rugged Rentals. Thanks again.

Worst rental experience in recent memory. BUYER BEWARE!! Seems straightforward enough but they breeze over the $200 additional fee for “excessively dirty conditions.” Go ahead and build this cost into your rental. They wouldn’t even let me attempt the wash it when I offered because I wouldn’t be able to put it on a lift and get it as clean as they would in a way the city approves of....seem shady? It is! Look elsewhere! Never doing business here again and will tell everyone else of my experience as well.

Fantastic experience. Recommending to anyone that comes to Utah and need a AWD car. Originally rented a Dodge Journey but it got stuck on the snowpacked road to the house where we stayed. We were able to trade in for a Jeep that worked much better.

Rugged Rentals is top notch .... I’m local wanted to do a trip to St George with my family and their service and price is amazing. I parked the hunk of junk van that I own at the trax meadow brook station for free overnight parking and they shuttled me to and from their office so I could drive a very nice very new very reliable van to St George and back over Labor Day weekend. We rented a suburban from Rugged Rentals for our 10-day road trip to Idaho, Glacier National Park, and Yellowstone. The space in the back was perfect for all of our camping gear and the seats were comfortable for our long hours of driving. The check-out process was quick and easy, the suburban was clean and ready to go, and the staff was friendly and helpful. When we got a flat tire on our trip, they helped us get it taken care of. This is our second time renting with Rugged Rentals and I am sure it won't be our last!

I am truly impressed by Rugged Rentals. Far superior to any mainstream rental company. I strongly recommend it! Excellent cars, friendly and professional staff, no nonsense policies. Everything went smoothly, despite the fact that I could only communicate via email. No stress, no pushing for extras you don't need. What you book is what you get: 1. All cars specified on the website as 4WD are 4WD and all Jeep Wranglers are Rubicons. 2. You are allowed to drive off the paved roads. To avoid misunderstandings, I would recommend spending 3 minutes and look through their rental policies, as they differ slightly from what you may be familiar with from the mainstream rental companies. But in a good way: if you need something extra, you pay for it. These include: 1. Limited mileage, ca. 200 miles/day. 2. The shuttle from hotels in Salt Lake City is free, but there is a 10% fee for the airport shuttle. 3. The pick-up outside the office hours (Mon-Fri, 8-18) costs at least additional $30. 4. To avoid fees for excessive dirt, wash your car if you went off-road.

Rented a Chevy Suburban for a week for my gang of six plus gear to go canyoneering/camping. Given the name, I was expecting something a bit older for wear. They gave us a 2016 model that seemed new. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would most certainly use them again.

Booked aJeep Grand Cherokee for 12 days from Salt Lake City to Jackson Hole. When we arrived at SLC airport we were picked up and taken to the office and after 10-15 minutes we were in our way. We got a brand new car that had 57 miles on it. We encountered icy and snowy conditions on our drive to Jackson Hole but the car was really good and handled all the different conditions very well! An amazing car to drive too. Will definitely recommend this car hire/rental to anyone. Thank you Rugged!

Rented a Yukon for a week in Utah and it was amazing. It was basically brand new so that is always a plus, but the staff were also super nice and helpful. We didn't know what type of hitch would be required to pay a camper and they gave us a few at no extra charge just to be sure we were set.
