UPDATE: I received a letter of apology for the price misunderstanding and the rating has been increased accordingly! The majority of the staff is friendly & professional. The car was a Ford Focus as expected. They were late for pickup partly due to traffic congestion. The 30-45 min pickup delay did make for a very late night for us, but the driver was still kind and helpful. Initially, they did not honor the rate quote because the individual working when we returned the car added a second $100 after-hours fee to our bill/card because he said the booking staff member ‘screwed up.’ I was having none of that, and the company advised me early the following business day that the extra charge would be credited back. However, compounding that problem, the young man made statements like “it’s the respectful thing to do to pay the extra $100 since they messed up.” Really? No, the respectful thing to do is honor the price you quoted. He also said that “We shouldn’t complain about him adding the $100 because we would have paid more if we rented from somewhere else.” Really? We shouldn’t complain that you quoted us a price and then initially wouldn’t honor it? He appeared to be fairly young. Either way, he could definitely use some immediate customer service training. The $100 after-hours fee is a bit extreme, especially since their website and advertisements say they offer “complimentary” transportation to and from EWR; and makes no mention of the fee that I could find. They did verbally tell me about charging me that fee once, and I agreed to one $100 additional fee, so no complaints about the first one other than they should fix their advertising to accurately reveal that it’s not always complimentary transportation to EWR. Overall, the rental was a good value and the staff was mostly friendly. So, we would not completely rule out the possibility of renting from them again despite the inconveniences we experienced.

Auto Team is excellent! From their very professional customer service, to the most affordable car rental rates you will find anywhere, we will only ever use auto team! We've rented one of their Dodge caravans 3 times since April 2015 and have nothing but great experiences. They pick us up and dropped us off and while competitor's rates were well over $100/day, auto team is always reasonable.

I came here for a car rental and the staff was excellent, very nice. We had an emergency situation and had to return back early from our trip, and they were extremely accommodating in assisting us in getting back to the airport after the car return. A+.

The car was in great condition, the rental went smoothly, no issues, no hard time, no hidden fees, and was inexpensive! Much better than dealing with a giant impersonal chain. I was flying into Newark airport during the holidays and had to rent a car to drive to PA. All of the car rental prices at the airport were extremely high due to the holidays. When I found AutoTeam and looked at their significantly lower prices, I booked. Free shuttle from and back to the airport, no hidden/surprise fees, and the staff was extremely friendly and incredibly accommodating. If you are flying into Newark, I would absolutely recommend skipping the overpriced on-site rental places and renting from here!

This business is incredible and saved our vacation!!!! We had booked a car rental with Budget at an extremely good price and based on flight schedule we had 2 hours to get to location and pick up. When the flight was delayed, we called. They said we would have to rebook at a different price to pick up a day later - and the original price quoted was going to be over $200 more!! We talked to supervisors and managers and none were willing to help us. Keep in mind that this price didn't include airport shuttle. We found auto team which did offer airport shuttle at a very good rate and just a few dollars more than our original budget reservation. We called and spoke to Edna and she was extremely helpful - she asked for flight info and because our flight was delayed but originally schedule to arrive BEFORE 6 pm ( they provide free shuttle if arrival or departure is within their hrs of operation), someone would stay late and make sure we were picked up! When the flight arrived, she even called us and made sure we were ok and then told us she would dispatch a driver immediately! The owner actually ended up picking us up and he was also very accommodating and professional! If we are ever in need of a car rental and in Newark again, they will be our first choice...with providing airport shuttle, their prices can't be beat! Use them with confidence, but be sure that your SCHDULED flight arrival falls with their normal business hours and keep in mind that their location is about 15-20 minutes from airport (I do believe they provide shuttle service after hours but there is a modest charge). Again, Edna, thank you for helping us out! Give that girl a raise!!!

I rented the 15 passenger Ford Transit van for the weekend to take my daughter's volleyball team to Washington D.C. for a tournament. Van was very clean and in perfect working order with a full tank of gas. Staff was very friendly and helpful in all aspects of the rental. Besides the fact that storage space for luggage was very limited 9 which I knew before making the reservation) the van worked out great as it was very convenient to have everyone on one vehicle, saved money on tolls, and it was extremely gas efficient. Very happy with the rental

I would never hire a car at Autoteam again! My girlfriend and me made a roadtrip around whole USA and got a car in a really bad condition. After 3 months we changed the car, but it wasn't better. Both cars were Ford Taurus. Both were really dirty inside when we picked them up. The first one had mold on the ground of the passenger side under the carpet. This was because water reached the car... When we phone Autoteam we were told to remove the carpet and whats under it. After change the windshield (not on our coast) the problem wasn't solved and so we changed the car in NJ. The new car was dirty as well and we had to ask to have it cleaned before we leave. The staff there was friendly and she understood us, but we phoned with Benno Bachmann an he didn't help us again. There wasn't any apology at anytime and Autoteam wasn't helpful.
