Great service in Reno! Love the Fastbreak service and check-in was a snap!

Easy Fastbreak pick-up at Reno airport. Vehicle was clean and shiny, and located close to the counter. Got excellent gas mileage (~36), especially considering the mountainous terrain we traveled over. Drop-off at Lake Tahoe was even easier, although office hours later than 5pm would have been nice. Staff at both ends was efficient, friendly and helpful. Only qualm was that the pick-up location was not closer to our arrival at the Reno Amtrak station. Otherwise, I felt it was a pretty good deal all around.

This is a really terrible car rental place. I might be spoiled by relying on Lyft to get around but renting a car shouldn't be this painful. They only have two people working here and their service is distinctly hostile. I reserved a luxury car and they tried to put me in a Chrysler 200 and charge me over $400 for 3 days. In between the counter and the kiosk in the rental car garage, I've been waiting for my car for 2 hours.

Paid ahead and reserved a manual transmission vehicle online a few days in advance. Upon arriving at the location, the staff told me they did not rent manual transmission vehicles. Why would this be an option online for this location if they didn’t carry this type of vehicle? I was frustrated, I was spoken to in a condescending manner, as if I should have expected budget not to be able to follow through. I felt bamboozled. This was the very reason I chose to use this company and this location! Next time I would use enterprise

We could not have asked for a better car rental experience. We received a discount offer from Budget when we booked our Jet Blue Airline tickets, so all arrangements were made online. We arrived as scheduled at the Reno-Tahoe Airport, and the paperwork and car pick-up took less than ten minutes with a friendly, efficient Budget employee. Our car was an immaculate current model and a pleasure to have on our visit throughout the Reno-Tahoe area. The price was very affordable and reasonable for the great service we received. Our drop-off was equally efficient when we parked the car, reported to the Budget desk to drop off the keys. We were told simply, "Thank you! You're all set." What a great company! We'll be back..........

Rented a car at the end of May for eight days. I went with budget because they were open after my flight was expected to arrive. My flight had been canceled on th day of trip so I had to get a later flight. Enterprise closed at midnight. I rented a mid size SUV for 7 days. I should have upgraded to a 4 wheel drive at time of rental but decided to save the 49 dollars. Two inches of mountain snow in Tahoe which is where we were staying brought the two wheel drive to a stand still. I charged through the snow and made it but the next day I called to see if I could upgrade to the 4 wheel drive. At that point I was lectured by the local employee that I should have upgraded the night before. Decided not to put her name here but also decided that I wouldnt use budget again. I'll just keep the mid size. Only rain expected for the rest of the trip. It's a shame. The other three people I dealt with were excellent.

I went to pick up my car rental and waited an hour in line for additional fees to be added last minute. I watched 2 people before me have similar experiences. Mind you - when I got in line, I was only the 10th in line and 4 people working the counter.

Wasn't sure how long I would need the car, specifically asked if I needed it longer can I just call. Was told yes no problem. When I called to extend my service I wasted 10 min. with automation that told me I could not keep the car longer. After speaking with a person I was informed that there would be a extension fee on top of the normal daily rate. This is something I was not told when I asked about keeping the car longer in the first place, I definitely think they should have mentioned that. Instead of keeping the car I returned it and the cost was 120.00 something more than my original quot. When I called about this I was told it was for satellite radio. I told them I never asked for satellite radio, I was told it was in the contract. I asked how if I never asked for it and I was never asked if I wanted it. Long story short they gave me a 25% discount on the satellite fee which is a couple of dollars. I then rented a car from International it was a cheaper daily rate and when I returned the car no surprise charges. I was supposed to get a follow up email from my complaint and never did. Will never use budget again! Gave 1 star because I had to give something to do this review

I rarely write reviews, and have never written a poor one, but this experience certainly deserves one. After a very long flight and still having an hour to drive, we just wanted to get our PREPAID car and go. There was one young lady working the counter, and about fifteen people waiting. I understand Burning Man is happening, but many of the people in line told me they already had reservations as I did. After helping one customer, the young lady excused herself, and left the counter empty with an entire queue of people. She went into the restroom, and was gone for HALF an HOUR! I had seen another young woman going in and out of the back, and through the gate to the airport area, multiple times. She never acknowledged the customers waiting in line, and avoided eye contact with anyone. When the first CSR came back, and managed to help one more person in about 20 minutes, the second woman finally opened another station. It was still another 20-30 minutes before I got to the counter. After going through the basic paperwork, she then tried to UPSELL me ever possible amenity and more expensive vehicle(s)! I declined all, and then after printing my paperwork, she opted to help the first CSR with a difficult rental, including carrying my COMPLETED paperwork into the back room to look for a form for a customer that wasn’t hers! She came back out, ignoring me and began a lengthy conversation with the other CSR about possible ways for her customers to add additional drivers without having to return to the rental office to sign paperwork!!! I’m sorry, but a line of frustrated customers, and a customer waiting for their finished paperwork are a MUCH higher priority. I actually had to interrupt them and ask for my contract, which made me feel rude, and I try my utmost to NEVER be rude... The car is fine, a bit on the older side at 48k miles, but will fit our needs. It is a bit scuffed and worn, but I took a complete walk around video of it before we left the parking space. Budget needs to staff up. If this is an indication of normal service, I will not be renting from again.

Car was dirty on the inside and on the outside when I was given the keys the kid at the front just was not personable at all then when I came back to drop the car back off there was two nice people working on the desk so it made up for it I guess, I left the car cleaner then I got it

Monday 12.28.2015 3pm or so. Helped by Kimberly at the registration desk. Best car rental experience EVER. So I'm thinking..."OK, that was too smooth, what's the catch?". Go out to my rental car, and like a dummy, I lock my keys in the trunk! Budget sprung into action: they promptly sent a young lady named "Angel" (was truly an angel). She helped me get fixed up and on the road....so far this is going way too good. So i figured I'd wait until turning the car back in for something disappointing to happen....BEST CHECK IN EVER. I hope other car rental companies see this. Maybe have all car rental employees train with these fine folks. I rent cars all the time (why does it have to be so hard?) anyhow from here on out Budget it is!

Left a garage door opener in the car and called them 15 minutes after dropping the car off. Was told I'd get a call back, usually within 24 hours, probably by the end of the day. Called them again a week later after no return call. Was told I'd get a call back that day. Called them another week later after no return call. Was told it was never found, and they had no clue what could have happened to it.

I have always thought of car rental as kind of a necessary annoyance when traveling, but this one was a real treat. The staff at the check-in counter was FAST and FRIENDLY. Our car was clean and ran well, and handled the road and weather conditions beautifully. When we brought the car back the gentleman who checked us in was friendly and fast and had a great sense of humor.

This location is great, Its right in the airport and there was hardly a line so I was able to grab by car very quickly. The guy did try to upsell me on a AWD car and told me chains would cost $150 if I needed them which wasn't really true. Other than that though they were really helpful, I got a nice car for a good price and it was easy to make changes on the app if I needed.

The guy who was working (don't know his name, but he looked like David Cross) gave us a free upgrade because of this "fastbreak" deal. We were supposed to have a Chevrolet Cruze, but we were upgraded to a Chevrolet Equinox for free. Very nice guy working.

Everything's fine, until it's not. I had rented a car from Budget in the airport and the price and everything set was fine, it was a great deal. I had asked if I could make the return flexible as I didn't know exactly how long I needed to rent the car for and whoever was at the counter explained that it was fine. I had also called the budget service center to check what my rates would be and if I could change my drop off location, and everything seemed reasonable. So, when I returned the car the car to another location the rate had defaulted by accident (to almost 3 TIMES the amount that I was told both at the counter and over the phone). The location I was at was unable to do anything and they told me only the Reno Airport location would be able to fix that mistake. It was IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold or the Reno airport through the phone at all. Both the employees at the budget return location and I were unable to reach anyone that would've been able to change the rates to the correct one. Luckily, I was going to be in the area a week later so I was able to go to the airport and able to talk to them in person. The employee was able to help with some of the problems, (thank you for that at the very least), but he recommended that I contact the manager to resolve any other issues I had. I've sent multiple emails to the manager at this location, and he was COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE. The money was charged on my card, and I can't choose to not pay my credit card, they're not the ones at fault. Budget is at fault. What would've happened if I wasn't able to return to the location? I would have just been stuck with a bill that was astronomically more than what was told to me, and unable to fix any of it. Overall, I was EXTREMELY disappointed by the budget rental experience, their lack of service and how irresponsible the manager was at the Reno Tahoe airport location.

About 30 minutes after dropping off my rental I realized that my laptop was missing. Yes, I left it in the rental! I was now that guy. I called budget corporate and filed a report immediately. I then called the local office to check with them as well. I was told that they would send a driver to look in the vehicle. I was told that I would get a call back. The call never came. I waited three hours then called back. I was told by another employee that they would send a driver to check on it. I waited. No call. The next morning I called again. Same runaround. I drove back to the terminal to check in person. I asked if they had found the vehicle. The manager said that they had been unable to find the car. I asked if I could look for it. She said I would not be allowed in any restricted areas so basically no. So here I wait, at the terminal. 40 minutes and they have not found the vehicle. The treatment I received from the manager via body language, intonation and inaction is so far beyond unacceptable that I cannot even begin to articulate the frustration I feel. Needless to say, the manager of the Reno Budget rental office has ensured that I will never rent from Budget again.

They arranged their pick up and drop off locations. Took a little getting used to. Picking up is easier than dropping off. The vehicle I received was cosmetically dirty. Sticker glue all over the car. Something unnoramal. Normally car is freshly cleaned. As a fast break member, quick to have keys in my hand. They should put you in a better car though.

When we got into our Dodge van on Thursday, we noticed that the entire center display didn't work, so no radio, no odometer/trip meter, no backup camera, etcetera. We pointed it out to the gentleman who was nearby and he said we should get a significant discount when we returned it. Later we noticed that the remote door opener didn't work, so we couldn't lock and unlock the doors without doing it all manually. When we returned the car, the rude attendant told us to take it up with the folks inside, which we did. On a $500+ rental, we were given a $60 discount and the customer service person said we would have received a larger discount if we had reported it, even though we felt that we HAD reported it before we ever left the lot. Not a horrible experience by any means, but this did affect our enjoyment.

Although I ended getting a great deal booking through Costco, their customer service wasn't worth the $15 I saved. A total of almost an hour from the time I got in line to getting all squared away. Then the salesman tried up charge me a bigger vehicle for $10 which I feel should've been a customer courtesy for the hour I waited. Yes I understand everyone has been waiting so how is budget going to make it right??? I paid for a deal but ended up costly on time. As I type this I'm still waiting. Not impressed with this service.

This place is worthless. Booked a car online said there was no need to reconfirm. I got here to pick the car up, and it wouldn't let me past the credit check. Never said anything online about needing a certain credit score. When the girl called her manager, because there was only one employee, I suggested that they put that on the website. He had the audacity to tell me it was my problem. I will never use this service in by state and I am going to go out of my way to make sure nobody I know does either. Worst experience ever. Worthless, worthless, worthless.

I booked on an alternate site--not even sure what it was because I received an email. I got a fantastic price on my rental, the car was perfect. However, since I had booked on this other site I was unable to key in my Rapid Rez number therefore my rental was not waiting for me like it usually is when I get a rental. It took 20 minutes to secure my rental at the kiosk. The employee was cordial and worked hard to straighten out the problem but it was time consuming.

About a month ago, i brought back a car that i had cleaned at the car wash, machine on the exterior, vacuum and cleaning on the inside but maybe it needed a bit more cleaning but anyway the normal thing that is supposed to be supported as you rent a car. So at the car drop-off, the unnice guy checked the car, said nothing and gave us a ticket. Before leaving, I realized he stamped it saying there would be cleaning fees. I walked back to him telling him the car is clean and i really hope this would not imply a 50USD and more cleaning fee. I told him he could have said something and we would have gone to clean it more if really this was not sufficient (though it was completely). He answered that it was too late and just did not care. I ended up one month later with a cleaning fee of the price of the rental : 300USD without any detailed bill nore mail to inform me. Since when are you allowed to charge things without information? This is purely abusive from you and could be brought to court considering customer protection... laws have changed today... how do you justify 300USD cleaning fee, have you gone to the casino and made a bill that i should charge for? Never again for sure and according to your very bad reviews, hopefully Budget Group will react to this abusive management in Reno.

Only complaint is...I wish we would have been told the make and model of the vehicle before I signed the rental agreement so we could have made a determination if that was the vehicle we wanted or not. We expected a Ford Edge and got a Hyundai. It was a decent vehicle but I wish we had a choice.

Long wait in line at airport to get papers then long wait for vehicle. No one to explain the operation of vehicle.....Hybrid. Attendant dropped his cell phone in the car on the floor mat. We could not see it and it kept ringing when we punched a button on the car making us think it was an alert in the car..........thus we sat in the car trying to figure it out until attendant returned for his cell. LOL

Extremely unsatisfied. Long story short, we were directed to the wrong car. When we realized this the attendant realized his mistake and helped us move everything to the correct car. (one row over)The brief case containing 2 computers, Ipad, glasses, etc. never made it. We called the local budget and left multiple messages. No response. We filed a lost item report - no response. We emailed and called customer service - no response. We visited the local lost and found - no response. We spoke with the manager when we returned the car - no follow up. Every car has a particular spot assigned to us, so it shouldn't have been to difficult to trace the car. Or there must be cameras to see if the brief case was taken out of the car and where it went. Also, upon returning the car, the return area was very crowded and unorganized. They told us to just leave the keys and they would inspect the car later for gas, damages, etc and email us a receipt. Doesn't seem right....... I'm only giving it one star as I can't post this without giving it any.

I rented a midsize car for a week; I was provided with a sparkling clean Mazda-3 with 12,000 miles on the odometer. Superb little car! I would rent exclusively from Budget if I could be certain of getting this model car again. Really. I drive a Tesla at home but this would be my rental car of choice. Oh yes - rental and return were seamless and quick - everything I could ask for.

Dear Budget Reno Nevada, We rent cars all the time. I have NEVER come away with the feeling of happiness, I did with the Manny and the Staff in Reno at the Budget counter as I arrived very late at night. They made it easy and enjoyable to rent a car! When renting a car as we do often we leave the counter and don't remember anyone in particular. It is usually VANILLA and most are are polite "doing the job" but no lasting impression ever. This staff was trained right and have the support of a caring manager and it shows. I have managed people and it starts at the top. The manager is leading by example! I also had left a camera in the car and it was turned in by the staff! VERY HONEST! Thank You Budget JOB WELL DONE!

Our flight was delayed so we didn't land until past Budget's business hours - they were supposed to be closed. Employee Jordan knew of the flight delay and stayed open just to take care of us - thank you, Jordan! She made my night!

The customer service agent kept getting a decline on my credit card where I had a zero balance. She swiped twice and said it's not working so I was forced to use my debit card and pay their ridiculous insurance fees where my credit card would have covered the car fully. She didn't seem to care either. I called my credit card bank and they said she entered the wrong expiration date. It was her fault and I did the survey and mentioned the issue and requested my money back for the insurance due to their mistake and no response. Until they refund that money to me, my business with Budget is dead and I will mention it to friends and family as well! Car prices are sickening ridiculous anyway.

I rented the largest SUV available online. I show up to the counter to visit with the Budget representative and she told me they didn't have my vehicle available. But they had something similar available, which was not true. They offered me a small crossover. I told the lady that would not be sufficient for our needs and if I would known that's the car they were going to give. I would have rented that same car from one of the other companies for less than $100 from what I already had paid them... after trying to figure this out for about 45 minutes to 60 minutes. Then I finally get offered to pay almost $300 more to upgrade to a large SUV. Which is what I requested. I now have to go back out and it's still not the vehicle they promised me at the counter which I paid extra. At this time I choosed to just take it because we have already wasted so much time and the lady at the front desk was just rude to us the entire time. Customer service was terrible. Experience was terrible. I felt like I was just inconveniencing them. Next time I will take my business somewhere else or just Uber.

My experince with Budget rental in Reno/ Tahoe airport was outstanding. The initial car that I was offered was not something that I really wanted to drive (VW Beetle) only beacuse I didnt want to drive it. Antonio who was working at the counter took his time to find every way he could to make my experience a great one and worked with me to not only give me an upgraded vehilce but worked his magic to do it at no additional cost to me. He was exactly what you want as a person represnting your company and i highly recommend renting from Budget before looking at any other rental car companies. i have always had the best experiences from them, and this one went above and beyond my expectations. Bravo to Antonio at the Reno/ Tahoe airport Budget rental agency.

Having mistakenly made a reservation at Enterprise and being told they do not have cars ready for me and it would be a 30 - 45 minute wait, I went to Budget. Not only were they nice and respectful but they quickly got me in a car and on my way. It was a very pleasant experience amidst great anxiety. Nice time I'll make my reservations at Budget. I have used Budget for 2 out of my last 3 rentals and was 100% satisfied. Conveniently located just across the street from baggage claim. Paperwork was already completed, just needed to show my driver's license and was on my way.

It was our Daughters wedding and we needed to rent a car, we had reservations with enterprise who dropped the ball. Budget at the Reno airport stepped up with not only outstanding customer service but compassion. Budget made our weekend. I highly recommend Budget for your vehicle rental needs.

Picked up a car. Upon return (10 days later), the lady recognized me and asked me how my trip was! Now that's service with a smile! She was also quick to resolve a billing issue. Cars were clean inside and out. Availability and selection were good. Not too pricey. I recommend getting the extra insurance to save yourself future headaches.

Not sure if the demand was higher than National and Hertz, but the line was too long and it felt too slow to get a car. I looked over National and Hertz, the lines were short and moved quickly. I drove 200+miles to Mt. Whitney trailhead where there were no service shops and low tire inflation warning popped up. I was so nervous. Thank goodness I got to town safely after two nights.

We made our reservation weeks in advance as a fastbreak member. Arrived at midnight with our family of 7, stood in line for 2 hours only to find out they has no cars that would accommodate our family. Staff was slow and rude, except Terri and Cando who both tried to make it right. Imagine waiting 2 hours from midnight to 2 am with little kids. On top of all that, we had to come back the next day, giving up our vacation time to exchange the vehicle and that process took another hour. There were a lot of angry customers and it appeared they were very disorganized and didn't really care. We're done using budget.

Very seamless experience. As a Fast Break member, walked across the street from the rental counter up to the parking garage booth where the attendant quickly passed me the keys and contract. Easily found my car and was driving off the lot in about 5-10 minutes.I would highly recommend Budget for your rental car needs in Reno!

I know it's my fault but Paulina sold me additional things I didn't want. I said I already included additional insurance when I prepaid.. She knew I was in a hurry and she was so nice I didn't expect she would add Personal Accident and effects and RSN (whatever that is) to my bill. I accepted and signed not looking. Adds a sour taste to my mouth especially since I'm visiting my father who I just found out is terminally ill.. Said goodbye to my father for the last time at the airport and that hurt plus an additional $300 fee that I didn't expect or want. I hope Paulina enjoys that commission.

When I first made the reservation, I was amazed at how inexpensive it was, compared to other rental car companies. When we got to Reno, the Budget counter was literally right across from the baggage area, we had a pre-paid reservation, so we got into that line, got up to the counter in a matter of minutes, and the process went pretty quickly. The car was great, a very nice Camry. Returning the car was incredibly easy, pretty much just pull up, get out, let them scan it in and do a walk around, then we were on our way!

Tried to call before booking reservation, no one picked up the phone. Booked online, no problem. Flight was cancelled and had to pick up rental car 10 hours later than anticipated. Wanted to notify them as a courtesy. Called again, no one picked up. Modified reservation online, was told I would be getting an $18 credit, no problem. Went to pick up car, agent was rude and unhelpful, when I asked about an additional $51 charge, she said "as long as you return by 1030 you won't be charged". My reservation was to return vehicle at 11PM, so I thought she meant 1030PM. Ended up being charged $51. Called office again, no one picked up. Called customer service, who said $51 was due to change on reservation and the "time of year". Even when I explained situation they were unwilling to budge. Congratulations Budget, you've lost a long-time customer.

The staff at the Fastbreak counter was very friendly and helpful. It took just a few minutes and I was in my SUV and on the road. The vehicle was new and clean. Returning the vehicle at 4am was just as easy as checking out. Budget has always been very good to me.

I landed at Reno/Tahoe airport and I need a mini van, I went to another company with no line for quicker service and they quoted me an outrageous price for a 24 hour return back to the airport rate. I mean crazy high rate and I said no went to another line and again another high rate not as high as the first on I said no way again, I slid over to the budget line and they quoted me $61 for a mini van they brought me a Kia it was perfect for my parents to get into, which my dad is 88 years old and my mom 86, my dad lost his toes in the war so getting in and out of the vehicle was of great importance. When we returned back to Reno from Seattle again Budget provided us with another mini van this time a dodge it was amazing however the Climate controls were very hard and confusing to Operate I do not suggest this vehicle. But it suited out current needs. Over all they ladies did there best to provide me with great customer service and the gentleman who helped me book a vehicle for out return was amazing. I will only use this company as long as they continue to provide feasible vehicle and keep the quality people at Reno/Tahoe.

Reserved a Standard SUV andwas told it wouldbe a Ford Edge, was given a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport which was a compact SUV tin can that blows of the road at the slightest wind. Was told by Budget that it was comparable to a Ford Edge......nothing could be farther from the truth. It was a brand new car with only 4 miles on it the got horrible milage for its size and power. After c of planning loudly I got a credit of $50 off the $450.00 price for a 5 day rental.

Needed a car for a trip to LA so we went with the mid size sedan. Got there 2 hours early and they still let me take the car without a problem. Got the keys to the car and it was a Mazda 6 with build in GPS and Bluetooth which made the ride 10x better. We ended up getting back a few hours late from the trip as well and they didn't charge me anything extra unlike some other rental car places we have used. Overall it was an awesome experience.

Upon arriving at the rental window we are fast break, the gentlemen took our information and gave us our keys to the car. I don't believe it was more than five minutes from arrival to reviewing our car for damages. The car was clean, did not smell like a whole can of fabreeze had been sprayed onto the seats even though it had almost 10K miles. The car ran well and was good on gas mileage. With all the traveling I do for business it is has been very rare for a bad situation with Budget or the cars they offer. Keep up the good work.

We rented a 4wheel drive vehicle due to driving to state line for skiing. They did not have the car we reserved and we had to settle for a rear wheel drive vehicle. This resulted in us having to leave our vacation early, renting a hotel room and staying in town due to a incoming snow storm. Thanks Budget for the added expense and inconvenience.

The location at the airport never answers their phone. I was left on hold 3 times for 10-15 mins and then and automated service came on and said the mail box was full. I have not heard good things about the staff there and hesitate to book with them. Customer service obviously is poor.

Saw a rate online and thought it was good so I called to make the reservation and ask if they offer an additional military discount. The woman on the phone said yes and then quoted me higher than what was online including the military discount. I told her I found lower online and she was like "oh yes sorry here I see a lower one" and quoted me the exact same price as online but said a military discount was applied. I was sick of talking to her so I said okay and figured I would ask for the military discount when we picked up the car. Went to pick up the car and the woman told me because we wanted to pick it up an hour early that it would be an additional $100. We walked over to another car rental place and they gave us an SUV and a late return for $150 cheaper than what budget was asking. Will not try this place again.
