Reserved my car two weeks in advance, the day before my reservation I receive a phone call informing me my pick up time is too early. In addition the representative that called was extremely rude with his questions and tone of voice. He also informed me if I didn't currently carry full coverage insurance that I was not allowed to rent. I have rented before, not with this company, and never had an issue. He informed me he was "surprised I was allowed to rent a car from anyone" (I have always paid for the additional insurance, it's better to be safe than sorry) My reservation price was under $100 for a one day (24 rental) however, with having to purchase their full coverage insurance, and the "additional taxes" it was going to cost well into the $300 range. I also received very snide and rude explanation about how to tell the difference between a credit card and a debit card. I know the difference, I have several of each! I was extremely insulted by this phone call and the way I was treated by the representative of Dollar Rental Car! The representative further stated prior to hanging up on me that he was canceling my reservation!!! It was 6pm, the night before I needed a rental at 7am!! I quickly was able to find a more reasonable rental through the same agency I rented from before without hassle. Customer service was always pleasant at Alamo/Enterprise. Although a tad bit more spendy, it is worth it. I will never recommend Dollar Rental Car to anyone after the way I was treated!!
