Not a good experience at all!! Make sure make your own arrangements if dropping your car here and do not rely on dealership...... I scheduled a recall appointment in which I explicitly requested a loaner car due to my work schedule, due the request of loaner they gave an appointment after few days and which was completely fine as I needed a loaner . Some one from dealership called my multiple times to make sure I am there on time and in case I am running late, let the dealership know in advance. I was at the service center on time but I was denied loaner saying you requested one but there is no guarantee that you will receive one (with arrogant tone), but we can provide you our shuttle service who will be here in five minutes, but shuttle came in 20 minutes late, which first dropped a customer that came after me and had a drop of location in way opposite direction, basically making me an hour late to my work.

0 stars! Took my 2002 Volkswagen GOLF GTI to this so called dealership to put on the inside door panel. They proceeded to tell me the connectors to the gas cap and trunk relay were broken. Yet, the very night before I opened the trunk and put the door panel inside it with the hardware and Styrofoam piece. I've been putting gas in regularly or else I wouldn't be able to drive it (common sense). The "dealership" said they were NOT responsible for fixing what THEY BROKE and to pick the car up because they would no longer work on it. The window motor relay worked that very day, yet my dad had to drive it home in a Michigan blizzard with the window down because it would not go back up.. AFTER A FEW WORDS WITH THE MANAGER, HE SIMPLY HUNG UP THE PHONE!!!!!! NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE....

Never buy a Volkswagen. This is Yvonne Aporius i am using my spouses phone because for some reason my won't let me post no more. My timing chain went out on my Volkswagen tiguan and damaged my engine mind you this happened about 3 days after i received a class action lawsuit paperwork in the mail. Even though Volkswagen admits its there defaulted part that caused the damage and even if i would have brought it out to them before the timing chain broke they would have done nothing until it broke. Which to me sounds like a money grab. Bottom line they are only covering the timing chain and 25 percent of the engine damage which is stated on the lawsuit. I cannot just give the car back because i owe money on it and it my only transportation. So while they admit it was there fault i still have to come up with $3010 in 2 weeks while on a fixed income cause i am ill raising2 kids and a grandchild and with the Holidays here. Volkswagen did respond to me and it was basically sorry about your luck. I am going to keep posting stuff so if i can save anyone from going through what i am going through it will be worth my time. By the way its notonly the tiguan there several other vehicles on this lawsuit

I recently purchased a 2014 Passat from Suburban Imports. The customer service, buying process and facilities were all excellent. Amanda Nees was my sales rep. and she was very knowledgeable, personable and handled the entire process with a smooth transition. My initial negotiations was with the sales manager and I also dealt with the finance administer who assisted me in the paperwork. All were excellent and I would highly recommend these folks and buy a car from them in the future. Customer service is so important and rare to find these days. Five stars to Suburban Imports!

I have been in contact with Kyle Hartford and the manager Sam Khalil to lease a Jetta on October 2017. They were so friendly, respectful, fair and professional on helping me to get the best deal to meet my demands and to lease my car. Hassle free business especially if you are on an expatriated executive program (still building your credit in the USA). Could not be better. I was starting to look again this week to lease a second car to my family and I went there again to start my search. I have ended that day with a new and beautiful VW Tiguan. Same great experience. Very annoyed that I booked a Service Appt a week in advance requesting a Service Loaner vehicle. A lady called be yesterday to confirm i could still make it and then i asked her would a Courtesy Car be avaliable and she said Yes. Now when i get here the Service Writer tries to upsell me all these other services after me telling him I am not interested i just need a simple Oil Change. After he then tells me that their are no Service Loaners avaliable due to a recall for a lot of customers? Then i speak to Mike the manager and he only says hes sorry and that they do not do Courtesy Vehicles for Oil Changes thats it!! After me driving all the way here all i get is “Im Sorry” lik Suburban VW Service can NOT be Trusted! Take your car elsewhere!! Everyone is on a different page of lies!! NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN I recommend “Ralph Thayer VW” way nicer people!!

Since I purchased my VW at Suburban I have decided to have it serviced here. Right after I bought my car I had a negative experience as I had to bring the car back to address a recall. I brought it in and went all day with out the car for them to tell me they had to order a part and that I had to bring it back again. Honestly the recall should have been addressed before they had the car on the lot for sale since it wasn’t a recent issue. Not to mention I had to take off work to drop it off and wait for them to call me to tell me it was ready. I needed an oil change and I figured that I would give them another shot since I purchased the car here. I called to make the appointment and was quoted a price for the oil change. I inquired about another recall as I figured they could take care of this when I had it in. The woman in the phone said that it wouldn’t be a problem and set the appointment. When I arrived at the service station the associate at the booth told me it was going to be more expensive then what was quoted to me. They also told me that they cannot address the recall because no one is there to do it on the weekends. Aside from that he didn’t address the issue or try to solve the problem. He basically told me that was the way that it was. I usually give everyone a few chances but it really seems like this dealership is extremely unorganized. It seems like they have a small VW operation as it’s in between audi and Porsche. Next time I need service I am going to go to one of the other local VW dealers as I have a feeling they will value my business more then suburban does.

I had such a great experience dealing with Clarence Carpenter and Steve Hubel last october when I leased my 2017 Passat SE with Technology that 10days later I went in and leased a Toureg for my wife. Clarence went out of his way to to make sure we had a great buying experience. He is so detail orient that when it came time to put the plate on from my old car, her said it was too dirty to put on a brand new car. He insisted on taking it in the shop and washing it before he he put it on the car. I can go on and on about all of the little details that he did to make my lease perfect but I hate typing too much. If you are in the market for car stop by and see Clarence first and you wont want to go anywhere else. They also have an awesome service department!!

Went in to find out about their lease deal. Explained only about the Passat, when I was interested in a Jetta and a Passat. Accompanied me on the test drive while the sales representative explained in detail about the car. Here's the bad part, made me wait about 45min to get my car appraised. Even after a briefing on how to drive my old BMW manual car they managed to mess up the transmission. It feels very loose and floppy between the gear shift and shift rod. It was a little stiff to begin with 192k miles but its noticeably loose now. To everyone taking their car for an assessment please accompany these sales representatives, cause they will not care for your car.

I worked with Max Siba on a purchase! He's so great at what he does. He was kind and so passionate about the brand. He really helped get us a price estimate in my budget! I could tell that he was accommodating and really wanted to help me get what I was looking for. He was quick on follow-up, which is nice when you're in a hurry! He spent hours with us on a test drive and explained every detail in the all new 2018 Tiguan, which is a beautiful and practical car. I will definitely go to Max in my next purchase. To top it off, the dealership is very generous and everyone is friendly. While I was waiting for Max to pull up with the test drive, two other employees made it a point to say hi and make sure I was taken care of. They really care about your best interest. 3 years ago I leased a Mazda 3 and my salesperson Zack Maki made the process very easy. He was able to teach me all the infotainment easily and knew about all the other specs as well (this is a lost art for many salespeople at other dealerships). Recently I was looking for a VW GTI Rabbit Edition. Zack who now also sells VW/Audi was able to to a dealer trade for the closest Rabbit in Muskegon. The car closing was simple and easy. Once again Zack surpassed my expectations with his knowledge of the car and made the buying process simple and fun!

My experience was positive. The process to agree on a price was straightforward and to the point and reasonable. The process to agree on trade in price was slightly more involved, but still very reasonable. I was happy with the process as a whole and it was one of the least stressful buying experiences I have had that I can remember. Everything was done over phone and I was only at the dealership to test drive, do the trade in appraisal, sign the paperwork, and pickup the car. Over and done and very satisfied.

Do not take your TDI to their service center. They had my car for hours and didn't fix the problem. Try to sell me tires i didn't need and they didn't want to regen my dpf but wanted to replace it which has been replaced last yr. $4000 . Crooks.

I loved VW but won't be buying another one specifically because of this dealership. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE customer service. They have quoted 1-2 hours on multiple occasions in their service dept. to run tests (not even to repair anything), then after 4 hours of waiting was told that they would need it overnight. And if you order from their parts department and they say they'll let you know when it arrives...they won't. Every customer deserves respect but because this dealership also has Porches on the lot, they just don't care about anyone in a car worth less than $75k.

No integrity. Go somewhere else. On the first visit, an oil change was to be done and was not, which was what I made the online appointment for in addition to a concern. The service manager emailed me stating that the next time the oil change would be complimentary. When we brought the car in, he had not documented the offer discussed and was "not reachable". We paid over $80 for an oil change. The follow up email I sent was never responded to.

Service department was very unprofessional, had to return 3 times and took 1 mounth just get a new key(told me it was in, then got there and they said they had the wrong key). They where a mess with paper work, literally gave me the keys to someone else's vehicle and told me i was good to go, after I got my oil changed. Just ridiculously poorly managed service department. My experience with Suburban Imports of Farmington Hills Volkswagen was impeccable. Volkswagen service manager, Ken provided exceptional customer service in assisting me with getting my vehicle fixed. He was proactive in his approach to service, resulting in a minimal amount of time I was without my vehicle. He was very accommodating from start to finish. Here is my 5 years of experience. When I buy new car, financial manager tried to bump interest by 0.5% in the contract. During the 3 years free maintenance, they forgot the free brake flush, then want to sell it me in first paid oil change! In warranty they fixed front link ball bearing, but no wheels alignment done, then I can't drive car straight for 12 month, until they fix the front link ball bearing again with my own cost, now they remember wheels alignment with big price! In a paid maintenance, the damn service specialist add stupid no name fuel detergent and oil detergent without asking me, with unbelievable price of course! Ask for a service history statement for last 5 years in last maintenance. The service specialist deny with stupid technical issue, says he will mail to me. Of course I never received it! Compared with the other Chevy I own, Why the hell pay higher price and services cost for VW car while get cheated all the time? Switch to an honest American brand and save some money for yourself.

Scheduling a maintenance of VW is a hassle; the scheduler of the maintenance is rude and he has no respect to the peopling calling in. Other maintenance people are good. I had good experience with other people in that department; I have to give this one star only due to the way that maintenance person responded in several phone calls; I'm not interested on going back there although this location is the most convenience for me.

Sales representative's name: Joe S. Sales manager's name: Dave Needless to say: I am an unhappy customer. Let me explain further. Went to this dealer to get negotiate a lease. Entered into an agreement, paid deposit and signed a contract stating explicitly the payment upfront, monthly payment and trade-in price. On the day the lease was approved and we went to them to pick up the car, they changed their mind, asking for another $35 more per month on the lease. They would not abide by the terms that we signed on and threatened to keep the deposit if we did not agree to sign the new terms. Eventually, we managed to leave the dealer and got our deposit back, but it was certainly not a pleasant experience when a dealer tried to maximize their profit in such a dishonest way.

They have a great sales and service team here. If you are on the market for a VW I would definitely start here, it's worthy the drive if you are not nearby. I have bought 2 cars from them and both were priced very competitively. The Sales team is great, they are not pushy or aggressive at all. Joe Shannon took care of my most recent car and he was great, listens to what you say, no bs and very knowledgeable and experienced. I went to several VW dealerships before this on as its a bit of a drive for me and really there aren't any comparable in the area in terms of service.

This review is for a single service visit for a warranty repair. I had a check engine light come on, so it was a straight-forward trouble code diagnosis with the computer. They replaced a coolant sensor - part was in stock and the repair was done that day. They provided shuttle service back and forth to my office which was a couple of miles away. The service advisor, Courtney was friendly and efficient. I can't comment on how they may handle a more complicated diagnosis and repair, but my experience was fine. We'll see what happens when I bring my higher mileage, out of warranty vehicle for a repair that is still technically covered under a special repair policy by VW.

Took my 2008 Passat in due to some electrical issues. The guys were able to figure it out, offered me a reasonable price for the diagnostic/labor, and offered a few other repairs they thought were necessary, but didn't push. It took a bit to diagnose, so they gave me a ride home during the day. The electrical issues haven't popped back up, so it seems like the repairs they did were the right ones. Service was friendly, and rep Charlie checked in with me throughout the day to keep me updated on the progress.

In regard to the service department I have had great experiences here. The staff have all been extremely friendly and willing to be accommodating when they are able. My only issue really is the lack of communication between the departments. I brought in a VW I purchased from Suburban Nissan and the Suburban VW service department is not able to view the warranties I had because their systems don’t communicate. So I had to wait around for the Nissan Suburban finance department to open before work could be done on my car. But, instead of waiting multiple hours, the service employee called around to different tire suppliers to find the one that serviced my warranty. So while the computer system is a little lack luster, the service member was very helpful.

First, despite scheduling an appointment to have spark plugs replaced, we arrived to find they did not have these in stock (this was the primary reason for taking the vehicle in, and they knew this). In fact, my fiance had an appointment scheduled for 9am - the first appointment when this location opened, and the last spark plugs intended for his vehicle were instead put on a woman's SUV that had pulled in right before him. So instead my fiance opted to have an oil change and tire rotation done that was offered. When we get the car back, there are black smudges all throughout the tan interior where someone had obviously rummaged through the glove box for unknown reasons with filthy hands. We later put two and two together and realized this guy was likely looking for a key to the lug nut screws that does not exist (none of the lug nuts on this car are keyed). They offered to clean these the next time the vehicle was brought in (who is going to wait a week with a filthy car just to have these people fix their mess??) as if this was no big deal. We tried to clean it ourselves with cleaners intended for this, but it appears they have permanently stained the interior. After leaving we discovered all of the lug nut covers, every single one, on both rear wheels, were stripped and holes had been bored into the lug nuts. My fiance only discovered this upon going to release air from his tires, as they had also been over-filled by these clowns. After calling twice and being sent directly to voicemail, my fiance had to go there in person to get anyone to care about the damage that was done to his vehicle. Keith, the service supervisor, was brought over and foolishly tried to claim that the holes in the lug nut covers were just how the covers were supposed to look - he hadn't even seen the damage to the vehicle yet and was already being dismissive of the problem. Yes, these lug nut covers have holes, but they are supposed to be threaded, and these were now completely mutilated with damage done to the lug nuts underneath. My fiance left without even letting them fix all this damage, simply because he was afraid to leave his car there unsupervised after what had been done to it. This type of incompetent/careless/unprofessional service is completely unacceptable for a dealership. If you care about your vehicle, take it elsewhere. This place is a liability.

Have you ever changed the oil in your car yourself? Chances are you're more skilled than the technicians at Suburban Volkswagen of Farmington Hills. I brought in my Passat for a routine oil change, as well as a few other things, like cabin air filter and engine air filter replacement. I purchased all parts separately and provided them. I was informed upon completion that each service was "a la carte" and ended up with a much heftier bill than I had anticipated, assuming I would instead be billed hourly on labor. Whatever, my mistake for not knowing the payment schedule. Except I get a check oil light just a few weeks later. I come back, get it topped off, and drive off. Soon enough, low again. So it's been leaking. I come back a third time to get it fixed, and despite making an appointment, after 5-6 hours, they tell me the drain plug was misinstalled and that the issue has been corrected. "Finally," I think. Guess what? IT'S STILL LEAKING OIL. Now I'm praying their technicians didn't strip the threads in my oil pan with this hack job service, and I really don't want to bring my car in for a FOURTH time! Never in my life have I suffered such an ordeal for something so routine as an oil change. I had precisely ZERO issues with my vehicle prior to bringing it in to Suburban Volkswagen of Farmington Hills. Avoid this location at all costs. My experience was good and not good yesterday. Good in the fact that the mechanics diagnosed my cars issues, and fixed them very well- they I would score a 5. Bad in the service manager that I had- she was great at the paper work not good at all with customer service. She had a bit of an attitude when I checked in 20 minutes before my appointment, I didn't hear from her until 2pm- which is a long time when you left your car at 7:30 am. She was quick to give me costs when we talked, and gave me little info as to the issues. Wanted to sell me the 80,000 package which I will get when my car reaches this point. I made the call on what to get fixed- and at 5:30 I called her to see if my car was ready and it was- so I left work to get it before they closed at 6. I got caught in traffic which made my arrival time at 6:15. It was a ghost town and she had gone. How can you do that when you just talked to a customer and they said that they were on their way. I was lucky to find an employee walking to his car and he helped me out (he, I would give a 5 star review). I never want to work with this manager again. In fact if I have to again I might find a new dealership. And for this, I give this experience 3 stars. She should be thankful that a nice man helped me out to get my car last night. Because if I had to get it this morning, it would not be a good scene. I was livid.

Extremely poor customer service. The so called Sales Manager, Steven at VW is pathetic.He did not bother to even greet us when he knew we had an appointment with him by the phone support. Not even a handshake when this guy walked by us. Probably he did not like our looks. Should have listened to my sister who had similar experience from this place when they went and bought their Cayenne from Fred Lavery. I will do the same now. Will go to Fox or Vyletel. We wasted 2.5 hours on a long weekend going out to this disoriented dealership. I DON'T Recommend this place at all. I insist the owners to look into this matter seriously. I was in Novi, MI for an appointment with my son. The car leaked and then gushed coolant leaving us stranded 2 1/2 hours from home on a Friday of a holiday weekend. After recommending a towing service, Scott Thomsen made arrangements to have my car looked at right away. The service department determined what was wrong and fixed the problem so that I could get home that day, saving me hundreds of dollars in rental car costs. Scott kept me informed, telling me what they found and always giving me the options that I had. He spoke to me with respect and not as though I wasn't capable of understanding car mechanics. My car arrived at 10:30 am and I was on the way home at 2:00 pm.

Terrible service department! I had a good sales experience followed by several terrible service experiences. The service expectations set during the sales conversations did not align with what they actually delivered. I would make a service appointment to have several things worked on, however when I arrived for the appointment I was told that they were not prepared for one of the items and although I was promised a loaner car, nothing was available. Several of these experiences could have been turned into a positive experience if the person in the service department had approached it in the right way, however they make you feel like its your problem not theirs. It became clear to me that customer satisfaction is not a priority in the service department. Many other dealerships have been making significant improvements in this area recently, Suburban is very far behind the market.

Worst experience ever. Would have rated zero. Don’t ever go to this dealership, rather don’t go to any Volkswagen dealer, they scam you. Even signing a proposal plan and giving $500 they cancelled the deal and gave the car to someone else. I have sold my old car and got insurance for the new car and now I don’t have both cars(new or old). They took all my documents including supplier certificate , recent college grad certificate, license, pulled the credit history, new Insurance policy documents, old car registration but still they gave car to someone else. Reason they gave me is I disrespected them, because I missed one appointment(which was very genuine as I am new to the place and due to dead phone battery, couldn’t use navigation on phone and couldn’t reach on time. My friends were also waiting at the dealer place for me, but I couldn’t make it till 6- Friday closing time) and called them to bargain about price. Customer doesn’t buy car everyday so they bargain no matter what the vehicle price is finalized, this is what I did. I informed very clearly that I cannot make on Saturday, so will come on Monday but they sold it on Saturday itself. They didn’t even bother to call me on Saturday or Monday to say out of courtesy that your car is sold, get your money back or get new car, instead I drove early from my office hours from Auburn Hills to Farmington hills and found that they have sold it. Now I don’t have car as I sold my old car, so who is going to compensate me on that as my office is 35 miles from my home. Its wise to not go to this dealership or to any Volkswagen dealership. I wanted everyone to know what happened with me and would never wish such an inconvenience to happen to anybody.

Quick and decent service. My VW runs a lot better after their criminally expensive 40,000 mile service (which is not covered under warranty). That also includes the DSG service. Checked to see if everything is in order on the car. Sure enough, they did everything they said. Except, I specifically told them NOT to change the engine air filter because I have an aftermarket one installed. At least they took the hint to leave it in a bag in my trunk instead of straight up throw it away. Just going to be a minor annoyance to put it back. Plus, they didn't charge me for it, so it's entirely their loss. Overall, pretty good VW dealership vs my previous one in Valley Stream, NY.

Went to the dealer for DSG service today and to get some wheels refinished. Was shocked at the offer for a courtesy shuttle back to work (within a 7 mile radius) and how I was greeted, Cheryl was super nice, told her what I needed and she got everything set up quickly, I texted her to ask some questions during the service and the response time was definitely fast. Lobby is super nice, the people I talked to were all super nice, turn around time was great too. Would recommend coming here.
