Our flight was delayed, and we were unable to retrieve our car the day we reserved it for. The following day, we go to get our rental, and the gentleman working the front desk was horrible! He had such an attitude, and wasn’t even trying to be understanding with our situation. Their customer service is absolutely nonexistent. Please save yourself the stress! It’s worth paying a few bucks elsewhere for better treatment.

I prepaid and booked a reservation for my dad 4 days in advance. When he showed up to pick up the car, the alleged "manager", did not only refuse to honor my dad's paid in advance rate but hiked it up from $300 to $900. He stated it was our fault for not reading the fine print. That the rate I paid for was only good for everyone else except "locals". The thruth is that they had rented out my dad's car to somebody else and instead of resolving it found a b.s. excuse to blame it on us. I had always used advantage for most of our car rentals - until now of course. We took our business to Avis instead. Everybody BEWARE!

Advantage car rental worked out great for our trip. The only thing that was disappointing was that the windows were very dirty and we had to stop at the first gas station to clean them. Otherwise the entire process and staff were extremely helpful and professional.

Shout out to Justin Gaffney at the Boston Logan airport! We had tire issues, and he went to far as to give me his personal cell phone number to get the problem fixed. He pulled through on getting our insurance to pay for the tire. He did more than he had to do to help us with our problem.

This company is ridiculous. 150 mile limit if you rent a car. Of course, they "forget" to mention that small detail when you book online, even though it clearly states "UNLIMITED MILEAGE". Then, the representative very "kindly" suggested an unlimited mileage option at an additional 40dlls per day. Outrageous. What a pathetic company. And even worse customer service. The guy at the counter couldn't have cared any less. What a shame that a company treats customers like that.

The counter at the is the last one. They share it with another cat rental company but they were great. The lady who helped us was more mindful of saving us money than pushing our bills higher. That's an important point for anyone. We ended up spending more because of that. She was also very good to chat with and find out about things to do. We loved the fact that she upgraded our car. Overall a great experience. Pricing was also reasonable.

I reserved an economy car the day before and when I arrived the man at the counter was rude and flippant. He rushed me through the process and wouldn't answer questions. No economy cars were available and he could only give me one specific make and model of diesel station wagon. He made sure to be as unpleasant as possible. I asked if I could please have a car that wasn't diesel or please have a smaller car because the large cars are hard for me to drive which is why I reserved an economy size. I called customer service and they said they have no control over the people at the actual counter location and that I would have to deal with him directly. He exchanged the car for me after I went outside and realized it had trouble starting and was very damaged on the inside and outside with multiple scratches dents and intense damage to the steering wheel that made it hard to grip. He exchanged it for a car that was exactly the same make and model and was very rude about saying that those were the only cars they had available for me unless I paid more money. When I went back out to the lot. I looked around and saw that there were multiple economy size cars available. He refused to rent me any of the economy size cars that were available in the lot and I finally left because I couldn't waste any of more of my time. I'd already been there for 2 hours dealing with this. Awful experience.

After reading the reviews of this company on google, I almost did not rent a car from them. However, I called Hotwire, through whom I purchased the rental, and was informed that they had no complaints concerning Advantage Rent A Car, at all. I flew into Boston Airport, took the bus to the Rent A Car center, found the Advantage rental desk, where I was met by two very nice, women who were the agents for Advantage. They were thorough, professional, and had an emphasis on service. My rental was extremely clean, and only a few days old. The return of the car was extremely quick and efficient. I would highly recommend Advantage Rent A Car.

It is the small rental counter all the way to the right when you enter the rental facility. Customer service was very very slow, but it is mostly due to the agent trying to explain the rental options in detail to a first time renter. The car was as advertised with low miles and no driving issues. Rental return was quick and hassle free. Really recommend renting the toll transponder for $10 a day since all toll booth are electronic in Massachusetts. The rental facility was easy to get to with the blue bus that goes around the airport. It is at least 20 minutes bus ride from terminal A to the rental facility, but only 10 minutes back. The only gas station is about 5 minutes from the rental facility with higher prices. Must go inside to ask for receipt.

CAREFUL when rushing to deliver on way to catch your flight... the geographic location programmed to Google/Waze maps IS NOT the location to deliver the car. (as of Sept. 2019) OTHERWISE: Clean car, super nice desk service, all else great!

Waiting lines at desk for about 1 hour after long flights. Not fun! Annoying questions about upgrades kept coming while I said we did not want any and that there was a long line of people waiting to be served. By the time we finally had our car we almost lost 2 hours of our vacation.

The vehicle was rented for government purposes so it is not like we were going to Juarez. Last time we rent with this rental agency.

Advantage was 1.5 hours late getting me a car. By then it was dark and I didn't know my way around Boston. Car was given to me with a near empty tank because "the gas pump wasn't working." I couldn't find a gasoline station. The windshield was dirty. It was a harrowing and dangerous experience for me. Will NEVER use Advantage Rent A Car again.

The agent at the counter was cagey, aggressive, and generally incompetent and awful. The woman at the kiosk down by the cars was great, and she fixed the terrible mess that the basket case up at the counter made. However, the agent was SO BAD that I can't do any better than a one star. Besides, the first car they gave me had tires so badly misaligned that the car vibrated intensely at highway speeds. I took it back and they gave me a really nice SUV---that smelled like a Phish concert. I had to take it, though, since I was already late thanks to the bonkers woman at the counter.

I choose Advantage for the price, I will not make that mistake again! I had reserved the “Manager special” and what I fixed we got was a two year old used up, scratched up, stinky van (Toyota Sienna) which in real life NO Manager would ever wish to drive! Never again! Follow up update to respond to owner: "Any vehicle that is readily available" but not cleaned nor appropriate to the reference "manager"! It has since been TWO WEEKS and I have not received an email invitation to review my rental. Seems like you just wanted to show a good effort on google without appropriate action. PPS: Even though I gave the car back 22 hours early, for some reason you ended up charging me more than what I had signed up for! :-(

After speaking to the counter lady, who was very nice, she added a collision charge to my rental without my consent and when I went to sign the contract, she noted that it was a "collision waiver form" but little did she mention that that is the name of the insurance company, so I was forced into getting insurance in which I did not want. She also told me that I could add it at the end if I wanted it, in which I replied ok, if I need I'll do it at the end. When I went to return the car, I mentioned that I wanted to make sure I was not being charged for the insurance, the woman kindly told me she'd check. She mentioned that I was charged and that a manager would take care of it for me. That they would call me to take care of the charge. No one called so I had to call the 1-800 number. I called them and they blamed me for the charge, then refused to give me a full refund on the insurance. I have rented many cars from all different companies, this is by far the worst. Extremely misleading, I will never ever get a car from this company again. If I could give negative stars I would.

Rented a $18.40 per day car for a week. I got a vintage Nissan Versa which had over 27k miles on it, smelling AND with manual windows. MANUAL WINDOWS! What other rental car company DARE to rent cars like that these days. Went to Thrifty Rental Car, paying $2.60 more per day and got a new, clean, fully loaded, much better car.

I was skeptical after reading all the iffy reviews, but renting at the stratosphere hotel and returning to vegas airport was a breeze. BTW, I checked reviews from avis, hertz, etc and they weren't much better. Give them a chance. There was a hefty late fee in the small print ($108), so that might be the catch to their low rates. just be aware---. The renting agent didn't seem to think that was the case, though. They were very professional

If I could leave 0 Stars I could. Booked a reservation for a 'Unlimited Mileage' car for a weekend trip. Ivan at the front desk calls us a day before the pick up (thankfully it was still in time to cancel without a fee) and advised us of this stupid and ridiculous 150 miles per day for local drivers. This is the dumbest thing ever. Yes on the "terms and conditions' it states it but in reality, who in the world has the time to read over 15-20 pages of terms and conditions to find this out. Just plain and simple state it on the darn reservation page BEFORE you book it so we know what to expect. But they mislead you with just putting Unlimited Miles and then they hit you with surprises...... the only reason why we chose this place was because our regular place was fully out of the cars so we had to resort to option #2. Well thankfully we cancelled before we got charged a dime. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MISLEADING PLACE!

Worst car rental ever. The car I was given was trashed and beat up and the girls working the pick up counter didn't care they said just write it on the inspection form. Then I got 80 miles away in the middle of no where and the side wall of the back tire exploded so I found a truck stop had to pay them $250 for a new tire and they gave me paperwork for the tire explaining what had happened and the guy told me I was lucky and it could've been much worse and the tire had been patched where it blew which means that Advantage doesn't even inspect the cars because you can't patch the side wall of a tire. Now this was the 1st day of my vacation and I hadn't even gotten where I was going yet so I bought the tire and left. When my vacation was over and I return the car Advantage Rent A Car refused to reimburse me the $250 I had paid for a tire because I didn't bring them back the damage Tire five days later. Why would I carry a dirty blown tire for 5 days on my vacation?? I had paperwork why did I need the trash?? The manager at the Las Vegas location Nina Pallera was very rude and very unhelpful. I will never rent from or reccomend this rental company ever! Spend more go somewhere else!

We arrived to pick up our rental car after flying overnight to Boston and was told it would be an hour wait before they could get our car. We sat down with the many many others waiting. 1 hour and 15 minutes later we were finally called up. The ladies at the counter were rude, unhelpful, and very short. They did not answer questions we had regarding toll fees. There instructions on where to get the car were minimal. When we finally found our vehicle there were no employees there to help us on what happens next. We were very disappointed with the service and will not be renting from this company again. I would advise choosing any other company at the airport to rent from.

The car is filthy. It was not full of fuel. Advantage requires a $200 deposit that is not disclosed until you insert your credit card to pay. We've discovered, to our surprise, that the car is diesel rather than gasoline. The car has 20,000 miles on it and the tires are starting to show their wear. I probably will not rent from Advantage again unless they are the only option available

We were initially given a car with 36K miles and two doors painted with a slightly different color. I asked the attendant for a different car but he said no car was available. I had to walk back to the counter to explain and then was given a different vehicle (with 12K miles but in better condition). When I returned the car my credit card was charged $136 for the fuel and eztoll when they were supposed to be only $66. I had to call the Advantage customer service number to have it refunded. Overall, not a very pleasant experience.

I would've had a better experience but the manager in El Paso named Ignacio asked me about five times if I wanted extra rental coverage. I already told him no and that I will use my own insurance. However he just kept on pressing and harassing stating that if anything happens to the vehicle it will be on me and not the company. As if I was kid that has to hear the same things constantly. The final straw was when he made a comment about the military and how we all do the same thing by never wanting extra coverage, and "we always" have to pay extra for an unknown highway tolls. I explained to him that in Houston the tolls are free to military when you use the pay side. However I drove over 12 hours to get to Houston, TX. Then another 11-12 back to El Paso. I really wish he was there to see my excited face of confidence after the rental was returned safely without any harm, and accident free. That's why my job in the military as an experienced on road driver. Lastly, I rated the one in Elpasotwo stars simply because they offer a free rental on the rewards program that can also be used as the second rental.

Your rep was awful. I rented an intermediate CAR, not a hatchback. Manny the rep should have informed me that he offered me a hatchback. Very unhappy with the way i was treated when I told him about needing a car with a trunk. He basically ignored me and then said the person after me had got the last non-hatchback car! I had never used Advantage before but they will definitely be my first choice next time I need a rental. Checking in was easy, the rep at the counter very pleasant and helpful. My drop-off was a piece of cake, no issues anywhere in the process. And zero issues with the car, which was very comfortable! I would rent from Advantage again.

Overall a decent experience but BEWARE the DISCOUNTED FUEL option. They made it sound like you would pay a discounted price to refill the car upon the return, however, once I got the charge on my credit card they had charged $40 extra for the gas. When I called, they weren't able to find my rental in the computer but insisted it is because I agreed to purchase either a full or half tank, which I wasn't given that option, and said that it doesn't matter if you bring it back full, that if you've agreed to purchase a full tank, you are charged for it even if you bring it back 1/2 full. So I paid $40 for a half tank, because apparently I had agreed to purchase a full tank (which I did not and was not given an option as to how much to purchase). It was presented as if I would pay for the amount of gas that the car needed to fill the tank, not that I had to bring it back empty and if not, I would still pay for the full tank. What a SCAM!

Most of the other car rentals agencies charge a small base price (around $10) for the EZPass and then charge whatever the toll happened to be. The only option provided by Advantage was $59.95 for the week which included tolls. I'm told most tolls are only around fifty cents to a dollar. Considerable price gouging of customers that aren't aware. The Kia Rio economy car I was given had a hard time just making it up hills. Merging with highway traffic was downright dangerous. I imagine I'll get the same "We're sorry about your experience" template email everyone else receives yet nothing is resolved.

If you are from El Paso don't rent a vehicle from this company . They'll give you a really good deal online but once you get there, they'll tell you that local El Pasoans have a different rate. El Pasoans don't qualify for unlimited miles. My price was bumped from $177 to $485 for 4 days. Even after I showed them the email where it said unlimited with my local address, they handed me a 5 page fineprint with miniature letters and a highlighted line that read locals have 150 miles a day and will be charged $.50 a mile after. He said that that is why I have to read the terms and conditions before I accept them.

On two occasions in two different cities I received the same terrible service. First occasion was in Boston, MA (Logan). I spent an hour in line only to find out that you did not have cars available at the time of rental. I patiently waited an hour and then had to wait in line again to get a car. Later I was told I didn't have to wait again but I was not told that the first time. After a received a car (2 hours after arriving at the counter), the car interior was dirty with trash still in the vehicle and low tire pressure light was on. The fuel gauge was not at full even though the check out slip indicated it was. I thought this was an isolated incident but apparently not. I rented again with Advantage in Sacramento, CA and again there were no cars available upon arrival. I was told it would not be long for a car. Other customers inline were apparently told it would be 1 to 2 hours for a vehicle. This is completely unacceptable and I will never be renting with Advantage again. I have made it a point to tell friends, coworkers, and random strangers not to rent with you either. I don't really engage in social media but I've found an exception in alerting others to your poor customer service.

Worst experience!!!! My initial visit wasn’t horrible - rented through Priceline, went to pick up my vehicle, Advantage worker talks me into insurance telling me that it’s $16 a day. (I stayed 4 days.) After my stay, I notice a charge for $400!! from Advantage. Call their customer service to clear up this misunderstanding just to be treated awful and have absolutely nothing resolved. I’ll be mindful to tell everyone I encounter of this unfortunate situation and obviously I’ll never be spending another hard earned dollar with them again!!

Worse rental company ever, At first all the agent were very rude, on my contract it said that my tank was full, got in the car it was nearly empty, took me 30 minutes to have someone to help check that up and make that change on my contract, when i brought the car back, the still tried to charged me the "missing" gas! And then 3 weeks later I received a $300 charge on my card, I called them and they told me I declined that Eazy Pass so I was charge to all the toll I went thru+ an extra charge and there was noway I could get a refund! Will never again rent there!

To start it all off they did not have the full size vehicle available for me that I had reserved. Therefore, I was forced to pay for a SUV upgrade or wait. I was in El Paso on business so I did not have time to wait so I paid for the upgrade. I noticed a stale smell when I got into the vehicle to leave. Didn't think much of it until I started to get a headache because the smell stayed even with the air on. It was a cigarette stale smell. Horrible and decided there was no way I could stand that smell and enduring the headaches from the smell the 3 days I was here. I called to notify them of the cigarette smell and they said I could return the vehicle and switch it out for another one and they now had a full size available that I had originally reserved. I was not happy about having to drive all the way back to the airport to switch the vehicle out because I had meetings planned that afternoon. Very much of an inconvenience. Long story short, switched out vehicle from an SUV to a full size vehicle. Manager, Ignacio, did not print me a new contract in order to expedite my switch and just had me initial. I feel like I should not have been charged the upgrade to begin with since it was their fault they did not have a vehicle available per my reservation. When I returned the vehicle at the airport, Ignacio failed to make any notes or document the issue and I then had to argue the upgrade charges to be refunded since I did not actually have an SUV and the agent on staff was not friendly. They are cheaper to rent from than their other competitors but you get what you pay for I guess. First and last time customer. On top of that they want to charge you extra for an additional driver to be able to drive the vehicle. I have never been charged that before. Horrible, rude and very non customer service friendly. Would never recommend this company to anyone. There was 6 people in line with Frank only working at the desk. I hope you're not in a hurry. We were there checking out for 45 minutes trying to resolve a mistake on their end.. They still didn't make it right.

Never again. Rude staff (except the nice Hindi girl, she might be a manager). One of the counter girls told a customer to "go to hell" in front of us. When we got to the lot there was no one on duty. When the staff arrived they could not find the car we were assigned, and did not seem to care to find it. After waiting more than 20 minutes I was given a car after much back and forth. Car smelled of smoke, but I was not going to try to get another car, did not have the time to wait. when I returned the car no one was on duty to receive it, or give a receipt. I did not save that much money, next time will use a more highly regarded rental company.

Expect 1 hour wait at the Vegas rental facility. Agent gave free upgrade that was a terrible car; scratches all over and smelled like gas inside, car was not clean. I wish there was an option to not even give a star on this. While El Paso was my final destination, I'm glad we didn't have a purpose for having a car to get somewhere else we needed to go. We had reservations for a car Wednesday night, ended up with a 6 hour delay on our first flight and didn't make it in until the next morning. I called the 800 number to ensure we would have a car when we arrived because we didn't want to impose on people when we got here to make sure we could get around to do the things we needed to do. When we got in at 930am today, I was informed, by the rudest agent ever, that they had no cars available and wouldn't have any until later today around 5 to 6pm. It's not 8 and I still haven't heard from them so I called myself. I was told by the agent that he wasn't sure why anyone would tell me that as they wouldn't have cars until tomorrow morning. So we were basically lied to. I'm a very understanding person, I work in a hotel. I know how the system works in overbookings, but just be honest. Don't lie to me after you already know about the night and flight experience I've had about having something when you know won't even be available. After the run around we showed up Friday morning to pick up the car I rented. After being told it would be nearly $50 a day because my initial reservation had been cancelled even thought they were the ones that gave away our car, gave us the run around the following day, and had zero empathy for anything. Enterprise gladly rented to us honoring the initial $5 a day I had booked with Advantage a month ago. Upgraded our car selection and waived the addition driver fee. I will stick with Enterprise from now on. Way better customer service and willingness to make their customers happy.

Worst car rental experience of my LIFE and I rent vehicles at least monthly. DON'T waste your time with Advantage. First, we spent nearly an hour WAITING at the KIOSK in the GARAGE for an after hours rental. The rental agents are SLOW. Like as in incompetent. 20+ minutes per rental ahead of us! Vehicle was a P.O.S with 40K miles on it and dents and scratches on EVERY body panel and the return agent (who speaks POOR English) takes the time to point out the Match Head sized 'Chip' in the center of the windshield that I hadn't noted on the 'Pink' Pre-Rental Inspection paperwork. Like literally,, the car has dents the size of FOOTBALLS and this idiot takes the time to point out a match head sized rock 'ABRASION'. It wasn't even a real CHIP! Bad experience! Don't waste your time! Go somewhere else. I don't even know how I ended up at Advantage. But, I do know one rental Company that I will NEVER use AGAIN! Advantage - NOT. BTW, I wouldn't have given one star if ZERO was an option!

I took the chance and rolled the dice on the cheap rental offered by Advantage. Everything *would* have turned out well enough (worth 4 stars; not 5 due to the slow process at the counter even though only two people were ahead of me) but when I returned the vehicle, one of their employees was sitting in a previously-returned vehicle that was blocking the entrance after the spike strips. I moved forward slowly, expecting him to move the car out of the way (he had over 50 yards of open space in front of him) but he just sat there. Initially it looked like I could get around the side of the car, but as I got closer, I realized it was too risky, forcing me to stop suddenly. Apparently I stopped with the front wheels on the spike strip. Even though I never put the vehicle in reverse (I just stopped forward motion), somehow the front two wheels got punctured. Neither the employee nor the manager were willing to accept that the employee initially caused the problem by failing to do his job (i.e., move his car forward). I called Advantage several times over the next few days, at first being told that they would have a decision for me "tomorrow" about whether or not I would be held responsible. I called the next day and they then told me it would be several weeks for them to review and process the claim. About a month later, I got a bill for over $230. More than two months have passed at this point, and after multiple calls, I'm still being saddled with the bill. Advantage fails at customer service from the bottom all the way to the top. Advantage also fails at doing the most basic of tasks (i.e., getting their own cars out of the way so I can return my rental). Avoid Advantage - spend the money elsewhere. You'll spend more up-front but you'll avoid all this hassle and added expense that would have more than paid for the damage here.

And Finaly, i did use only the half and they don't give you back money. Finally, their offer of $ 10 plus tax is just a scam. Be careful.

They did not respect my third party Orbitz reservation. Ignacio was very rude and would not respect my contract. He tried to me charge 40 dollar a day for unlimited mileage. When my reservation included it. I showed him my contact and he simply told me to keep to leave because he could not do anything about. I was the only person in line to get my car at 530am, the person took over 15 min to open up the computer to just look at my reservation. I had some general questions about how much the easy pass was and she wouldnt answer any questions until she had my reservation open, even though it didn't matter what my reservation said because the pricing was standard per day. Then, when I got my car, I was the only person down there in the area and a returned car was parked in the middle of the exit so I couldn't get out. When I showed the exit attendant that couldn't get out she snapped at me and said I had to "wait my turn, she doesn't know why cars are being rented when she was still checking them in!" Again, I was the only one in the garage at the time and 6 more cars pulled in while I was waiting to get out that she checked in before letting me out. It's now been 24 minutes I've been sitting here. A lady walked by and said good luck, the same thing happened to her when she was picking up her car. Well, there goes beating the rush hour!!! Needless to say, I WILL NEVER RENT ADVANTAGE AGAIN!

I waited in line for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Lines at other rental places were longer and were cleared in half the time. The agents were very nice and I had no problems getting my car, but they spent too much time doing everything but helping customers. Eating, talking on phone, talking to each other... My car smelled like smoke when I got in and the low tire light was on. I told the garage attendant and he just said “they all look fine to me.” I can say the car got me around and did it’s job, they just need to work on their customer service.

Got very lucky was no wait at counter (Boston airport) started the check in process only to have to stop for the two employees to take photos together and review them on their phone, was told “ sorry she’s just done her shift so have to do it now” so after waiting come to find out there’s a ton of “fees” including a parking fee..and many others that added about $80 to what we were expecting, was encourage to purchase the pre paid gas, explaned where we would be going “ oh yes you’ll definitely use the tank and it’ll save you a trip to the gas bar” we only used slightly over a 1/4 tank... when going to leave the parking lot attendant was very rude and made it clear didn’t want to be there. When returning a few days later we had to sit and wait 10 mins to be let back in cause the employee in the booth was too busy on her phone, we actually had to get out of the car and knock on window to get her attention. With so many rental options this would be the last one I choose next time.

I booked EUROPCAR, but got Advantage. They forced me to pay extra for toll roads which I did noit need, but I was assured that as soon as I leave airport I need this - BIG BS. Extra costs for extra insurance which I do not wanted I was forced to pay as well. Tax on top. Car was in very poor condition, steering weel was moving left to right while I was driving - very unsafe. Washers fluid light was on all the time. Missing rear viper blade and staff deserve to be fired for the way how happy they are to halp - looked to me like they are a hostages, not employees. NEVER AGAIN - Avoind and do not book EUROPCAR at Logan Boston Airport as they don't have the office - they use ADVANTAGE RENT A CAR. One of the worst experiences ever.

When I asked were we going to inspect the car before I pulled off the lady said looked at me like I was bothering her and said no it's good. At 2:26am, I received a phone call from a random person saying he had the rental before me; left his phone in the car and was outside my hotel room waiting for it. A terrifying experience for a woman traveling alone. How did he get my name and number; someone from advantage gave it to him. On top of all that... The don't drive you to departing terminal like Enterprise does when I book them. Overall horrific experience.

First time and last time. The JFK counter rep Daphne did not explain the tolls, and what was a great rental price, became a really expensive 100 dollars a day charge. You can't escape the tolls in the NY NJ area, so they should be up front about the costs and consequences. On the phone they did not help. They had a "got you" attitude, and told us to drive back to JFK.

However, I called Hotwire, through whom I purchased the rental, and was informed that they had no complaints concerning Advantage Rent A Car, at all. I flew into Boston Airport, took the bus to the Rent A Car center, found the Advantage rental desk, where I was met by two very nice, women who were the agents for Advantage. They were thorough, professional, and had an emphasis on service. My rental was extremely clean, and only a few days old. The return of the car was extremely quick and efficient. I would highly recommend Advantage Rent A Car.

Some problems at check-in: 1.The lady at the counter insisted in charge me for the gas in advanced, even I rejected it. I had to give back her the invoice to correct "THE MISTAKE". 2.They recommend a toll pass for $59, telling the history that YOU WILL NEED, because tolls in New England do not accept cash. That is totally untrue. At the end I overpay $50 in toll because of that 3.They gave me a lower car than I booked, and did not tell mw anything until I realized that in the pick up garage. I had to comeback to counter and insist that an Elantra was lower than a Sonata. The gave me a Santa Fe after that.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. PAY THE EXTRA MONEY TO USE A WELL KNOWN COMPANY. Worst rental experience of my life. Slow getting the car, which was fine. However I just checked my credit card statement and was over charged by $1,827.80. Yes, almost $2000 in charges because of screwed up paperwork. Called customer service at 8:30am, they're supposed to open at 8, and was met with an answering machine telling me their closed still. I had to go through a different department to get someone to help me. I'm told I might have to wait up to 21 days for a refund. If I could leave negative stars I would.

I needed a replacement for my broken car and booked "compact or larger" option. A manager gave us Kia Soul with 10k. The car was clean and the manager was helpful. Finding the location (at JFK) was a bit challenging. I came by taxi and there was only a small banner half behind the Hertz sign and no any other directions. Otherwise, everything went quick and I hope drop off will be painless, too.

I rented a car from Advantage from JFK and because I read the reviews after I had already done the transaction I panicked because of the many negative things people were saying...I HAD A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE, there was no wait, the young lady at the desk Darisa (her name is on my receipt) was very nice, polite and patient with me and my many questions. The gentleman who brought the car up for me was respectful and polite and thorough. The Buick was brand new and clean. When I returned the car, there were no hidden fees and all monies held was returned. I will definitely use this company again and again Advantage...thank you!

We were initially given a car with 36K miles and two doors painted with a slightly different color. I asked the attendant for a different car but he said no car was available. I had to walk back to the counter to explain and then was given a different vehicle (with 12K miles but in better condition). When I returned the car my credit card was charged $136 for the fuel and eztoll when they were supposed to be only $66. I had to call the Advantage customer service number to have it refunded. Overall, not a very pleasant experience.

Absolutely horrible experience. If I could’ve left 0 ⭐️ I would. We took a $25 cab to the airport to retrieve our vehicle that was reserved for 10am. It’s 12:51pm still no vehicle. The reservation was made a week in advance. The company must only have 1 type of vehicle for rent per person. We were told it would be ready at 12 and we’re still waiting. They got their payment as soon as the reservation was booked but we still do not have a vehicle at all. If we leave we will have to pay another $25 to get home. Truly dissatisfied. Customers should know up front that there is no real reservation and you are out in a waiting list for your vehicle. The wait time can vary from 30 min- 3hrs. Absolutely ridiculous.

I’m blown away right now!! I have NEVER used this company before. I rented a car for just three days in this location. First off the ladie at the desk must’ve had a bad day and she seemed easily agitated with our questions, however the ladie right next to us had amazing personality.We weren’t rude and thanked her for her help.She told us if we purchased a pass it would be 23.99 ONE TIME CHARGE to advoid the fees and toll charges the company would charge per toll so we agreed. Then When i returned the car. I filled the tank Up with gas and dropped the car off with a gentleman . He said just return the keys upfront and theres nothing more to do,No paper work nothing. Well here it is a week later and I’ve noticed the charged haven’t dropped from my cc for the deposit. I called and they said not only are they keeping my 200 deposit for a car I didn’t fill with gas SUPPOSEDLY and charged me the 23.99 PER DAY I wasn’t told about plus added taxes and fees to that. So I’m out of pocket for 269.39 to be exact. I’m pretty upset about this matter and I definitely will NEVER rent from this company again as I’ve always used Hertz and enterprise with no issues EVER!!!! If I could rate this company a one star I would! The only thing nice was there car, very clean.

Never again. Rude staff (except the nice Hindi girl, she might be a manager). One of the counter girls told a customer to "go to hell" in front of us. When we got to the lot there was no one on duty. When the staff arrived they could not find the car we were assigned, and did not seem to care to find it. After waiting more than 20 minutes I was given a car after much back and forth. Car smelled of smoke, but I was not going to try to get another car, did not have the time to wait. when I returned the car no one was on duty to receive it, or give a receipt. I did not save that much money, next time will use a more highly regarded rental company.

When taking the car on 3/23/19 we were served by Luis at JFK AIRPORT. From the beginning I told him not to understand everything because his English was very fast, he just did not make any effort, my English is not bad but it was not his problem He first told us that because of the snow in Washington we'd better take another vehicle for $ 25 a day! Haven’t seen any snow.. When taking a vehicle I tell him that we will not be there at 10 am for the return, he tells me that this is not a problem. So we go to the car park to look for the car, the bad surprise, the JETTA to the tire left front very worn! we go back to the counter because Luis does not believe us, we see that the tire is dangerous, his colleague tells us that we have two choices: another tire is in the trunk and so we have to change the wheel or take another car. . This behavior is very dangerous, I will not have checked the condition of the vehicle we could have had an accident! The rental is happening and when returning to the invoice appears an extra billing day! I explain to the counter that this is not what we were told, that Luis was not fair and that he could explain to us, the manager tells me that I signed and that it is like that. That I lie to him and that only the writings prove themselves. I find it dishonest the way you treat your clients, no effort to speak the language or at least speak more softly to better understand each other, excessive billing for an extra day and general treatment, between lies, state of the car and the attitude we have a very bad image!

These guys must hate military. I just dropped off my car rental for the weekend, the agent took my keys and contract and said I was good to go, he will email my receipt. Being foolish enough I walked away as I did not want and could not miss my flight being military. As I am on the airtrain I check my email and read that I'm charged a refueling fee. I refueled this car at the BP on Hillside Avenue, about 5 miles away. Do not trust these thieves, stand over these dirty playing robbers as they check the car, or you'll get another 110 dollars added to your rental. Lesson learned, never book advantage again. If I could give no stars I would! This place has the worst customer service! Trying to get through to someone is the hardest thing to do then when you actually do get through you get a person who doesnt speak good english and doesn't understand it at all! My cousin rented a car for a day and when she got the car it was cold so she wasnt able to smell the cigarette smell. When she came to get me as soon as I sat in the car I smelled it. She told me when she picked it up she didn't smell it because it was cold but as she drove and the car heated up she started to smell it. We had to be at our destination at a certain time so we were unable to change the car. We had the worst headache the whole time in the car. When we returned the car we told the woman at the desk who then said "oh theres nothing we could do about that" she didnt even apologize just gave us that nasty response. On top of that we returned the car two hours late due to the worst traffic which we understand was not the companies fault but when we called to speak to someone about possibly keeping the car for another day after waiting for a representative for 45 minutes the representative could not understand us so he couldn't help they ended up charging my cousin an additional 96.00 for two hours! Bad cars! Bad customer service! Not worth the hassle!

Second under age fee for 23 years old it’s around $80 in NY,everywhere it’s around 25 . Third they hold $200 deposit when no one rental company do that . And they charge me 360 for deposit , when I call after and ask why is that,they couldn’t explain. So when your rent online it shows $80 but when you come you pay 300 for one day. They charge me for Pre-paid has, even without asking me. Terrible experience will never rent again.

Was lied to about how many tolls I have to go through and pushed to buy extra services I did not want, after being interrogated about where I was going like they were concerned about where I was driving the car. Then sent me to the wrong car, no pre-inspection, just already had a paper ready to go, then no directions or assistance on how to leave the lot, had to ask Hertz who was very helpful. Not only was I lied to so they could try to upsell services I didn't need they gave 0 effort in customer service and assistance. I have lost all trust in this company.

DONT RENT HERE! I had a reservation at 6 am, I got there at arround 6:30 am, no one was at the kiosk. I Kept calling customer service, after waiting for over an hour they sent the parking garage employee. who was been aided over the phone on what to do, and had no clue on what to do. Once the manager got there she never once apologized for the terrible inconvenience I faced. She literally had the worst customer service I have experienced in a car rental agency, I had to drive to Amarillo this morning, and was late for my appointment. She was defiant, unapologetic, and had a very bad attitude. To make matters worse, I booked the reservation thru hotwire for an unlimited miles vehicle. It turns out Advange charges local drivers 40 dollars per day if you travel over 150 miles. I have been renting vehicles for road trips for over 15 years and this is absurd! Apparently Advantage rent a car is the only rental company that does this, and they just started doing this. Never was I told in my booking about this, I had to pay in top of my charges $159 dollars. I will never rent with this company ever again, what a joke of a company!

I asked the person handing the car over that the car tire indicator is on, to his credit he put the air in and it disappeared. 30-40 minutes in the drive it comes back again and with long drives ahead of me I called them back. Their only solution was to bring the car back to the airport as I DO NOT HAVE ROADSIDE Assistance. I mean how can I turn around and drive back to the airport with bad tires? what if it blows up? Anyways I took the car to a tire place and it was not a big issue and I got it fixed. Be careful when you rent with Advantage (after the counter you are 100% on your own)

Josue advantage agent might be running a scam with additional add on’s. For example we (gf and I) rented a car with no additional drivers, and specified who the primary driver would be (me) I submitted my ID and it all seemed fine, however Josue (advantage agent) charged a additional $30.00 upon return. Not sure what the angle is but he got very defensive and dismissive when we approached him with the discrepancy. So renter beware. Hope advantage can correct the issue and honor the rental reservation.

Great service, price was right, ...okay, so I have to add an issue that all should be aware of. So I travel to Las Vegas a couple of times a year, and have always used Advantage due to the convenience and great staff. However this last time around I was issued a diesel vehicle. Now I always return with the tank full to save me some coin...but this time I had to drive clear out of my way to find a station that sells diesel. They really should be advising their guests about the availability...or in this case lack of availability of stations selling diesel fuel. Really, my checkin with Michelle at Main Street was great, but then I had to wait about half an hour for a car to become available. And then her helper had me initial for the car and did not say anything more, even as I heard Michelle tell her to make sure she went over the particulars with me. I will still rent a car from them because the remote pick up is right where I am staying. but I was quite frustrated trying to find diesel fuel. Even with gps.

Worst customer service ever ! I made a reservation last week for a full size vehicle and got a 4Runner.... Then the lady that helped me added insurance without my consent and said "you either get it or don't take the car".... I was pressured into signing, didn't get a well explanation of how it was going to work out and the amount I was going to be charged (total at time of reservation was 321) turns out they swiped my card for 789!!! No one walked out with me to get the vehicle or to inspect it, I had to look for it on my own. I have just never experienced such poor customer service in my life!!!!

I was charged almost $60 more than I agreed to pay when making the online booking. The agent sold me on a prepaid toll device by saying I would pay a time of $25 for every automated toll location I passed through without having the prepaid device. I have since researched this, and I don't see where this is true at all. In addition, my route didn't take me through any toll roads, so this was a complete waste! I would like my rental charge adjusted down to what I agreed to originally.

Do not sign or pay until you have seen the car that you are being given. I rented a midsize and if the agent had taken me out before having me sign or pay we would have declined as it was not suitable for us to go for long distances. Not only was it too small but the gas was at 3/4 and we were told to bring it back full or we would be charged. Both the agent, Travelocity and now myself have unsuccessfully been able to speak to a Manager, no one answers the phone! The option we were given was to drive to the airport which was out of our way to get another car. That is not acceptable nor was the time we spent trying to deal with this when on holiday. Try another rental agency that has better customer care or where you can actually speak with someone.

My sister and I both rented vans at the same time from two different companies, we were both quoted $270 for the week. Mine ended up being $772 and Hers the quoted $270. Seriously I feel advantage rental car took advantage of me and my grief at the passing of my grandfather and added on everything they could as I just wanted to make it to his bedside before he passed. On top of that the weather stripping from the drivers side window was hanging down making it noisy, it wasn’t clean on pick up and customer service was not helpful at all. I ended up needing a car for 6 more days and chose a different company just to avoid further abuse by a company.

Female employee who greeted me at the counter was excellent, unfortunately for Advantage, like a lot of those low budget places that advertise supposedly lower rates, the ads are misleading in my opinion and by the time you get "a" car, (all they had for me at the time were Dodge Caravans...and I'm one person...LOL - come to find out, when I went to the lot, there were a few other cars that were NOT Dodge Caravans...ughh) it will end up costing you more money than if I had just booked a car with one of the big guys, like Avis or Hertz, etc., etc. Although they post higher rates, they at least give you the truth, unlike these types of rental car places, where you think you are getting a "deal", but you end up paying more with less options, less choice, etc., etc. I will more than likely NEVER rent from any of these low budget rent-a-car places...or the one's where you have to take 2 or 3 shuttles to get there and by the time you check in, they have only like 1 or 2 people working and so it takes hours to get your car...Now I got lucky and got off the shuttle bus early and ran to the counter so I only had to wait for one person in front of me, but I probably would have given this place a -1 star if I had to wait for more than 30 minutes.

And then trying to add on everything and our bill for a 4 day rental was over 600!!! The car I reserved wasn’t even brought up she kept ignoring our request ended up canceling My reservation and then putting it under my husband. I was the one who made the reservation on my card and she ignored that and just proceeded to do opisite and charge my husband and change the whole reservation to him. The price difference from the car I rented online and to the only two cars she offered us was insane and was such a SCAM! Just getting more money out of us. And all I wanted was what I signed up for online. I’ll be filing a formal complaint it’s not fair to go on vacation and get screwed over when you had it all planned in advance!

When we arrived at the counter, there were NO CARS! we had to rent from another company and when we returned from our trip and called, they told us they had "no record" of charging us. I am very dissatisfied with Advantage. I arrived and made it clear to the agent that I had to be somewhere. The agent, Ali, asked a lot of questions and talked quite a bit. At first I thought he was just very nice, but after reviewing the bill later - when I had more time - I realized that maybe we was trying to distract me from the add-on on charges. I do not recall what he said exactly, but when he showed me the insurance page, he presented in such a way that I had to chose one. So I opted for what seemed like the "basic", no charges added choice. I am certain that he did not make it clear whatsoever that there were going to be additional charges. Again, I was trying to get out the door. I signed off on everything that appeared to be for the deposit, taxes, and tank refill I requested only to realize later that insurance had been added on. I explained this to the manager and would not hear my case. I've rented a lot in the past, and never dealt such shady tactics. Renter beware!

When picking up the vehicle the policy in the mileage changed that day then and there from unlimited to a certain miles a day you rented out the vehicle for. They never contacted me a day or two before their policy changed. Don't even think they deserve a star. Changing policy one day before heading out of town. The additional charges were not clear and also not competitive. How can $6 in toll fees without a pre-paid toll package result in being charged a $100 admin fee? Every other car rental service will pay the charges with either no fee or a significantly smaller fee which is more agreeable to pay. The rental with Advantage was $32 but you get charged a fee which is approx. 200% more than the rental? This doesn't want me to rent again from Advantage and put my trust back in other rental companies. Be mindful when you rent - remember as a travel, you frequently do not know the area and at times go through tolls even if you navigate to avoid them. The risk is even much realer with Advantage as they what to hit you with this charge.

She said that optional insurance was mandatory probably just to make commission and just added it to my rental without asking then when I told her I didn't want it she said she couldn't rent the car. STAY AWAY FROM HER! I spoke with Ivan the manager and he seemed reasonable and apologized but it doesn't make the experience any better. I filed a complaint with the Texas Department of insurance and the Attorney General for deceptive business practices.

I would give 0 starts if I could. Do not use this place for car rentals! False advertisement they claimed unlimited mileage on the web this was not true. I rented a car at advantage paid everything online to be exact $294 was my total when I got to advantage to pick up my car they charged me an extra $440 dollars for a mileage package. After taxes and fees I ended up paying over $800 dollars. They claimed the extra fees where for miles that will be used on the car. The whole point of renting a car is to use it!!! to dive miles away!! the $294 was just so I can stare at the car on the parking lot I guess. When they told me about the ridiculous fees I obviously tried to cancel but they told me that I would lose the $300 already paid and would not get a refund. I felt hassled so I went ahead and took the car. Bad move because that wasn't the end of it!!! When we did the walk though the car had a small dent that was supposedly documented and when I went back to turn in the car they claimed the dent was not documented and are now going to charge me more $$$$$$$$ money for the damages!!! I have never written a review before but this is the biggest scam I have ever encountered and think people need to be warned! Do not use company for your cars! most horrible experience I have ever had with a car rental company and I have used many. This is the only one that I have ever had a bad experience with.

What poor customer service. Picked up vehicle at JFK last night and drove to Long Island for the weekend. Once traffic eventually cleared, the “upgraded” vehicle ($500 for 3 days) had a tremendous shimmy/wobble in the rear wheel. Called Advantage customer service and after some time they transferred my call to the JFK location. Representative was belligerent and rude. Told me I would need to drive the vehicle back to JFK airport (45 miles away) after I explained that I was concerned for the safety of me and my family. Got nowhere after he “argued” with me... Called back today and was told by the Advantage agent that the system is noted that I was “disrespectful” to the agent last night. He immediately became argumentative as well. Still no solution and no swapping out of the vehicle. Obviously customer service is not something Advantage trains their employees on... Safety also appears to be unconcerning to them... What a shame that a car rental company feels it can treat its customers like this... PS - The car has almost 50k miles on it. Not quite what you would expect for a rental at this price. I travel very frequently and have never experienced anything like this. I am now spending my time trying to resolve this issue vs. enjoying my trip/weekend. Buyer beware!

Their only solution was to bring the car back to the airport as I DO NOT HAVE ROADSIDE Assistance. I mean how can I turn around and drive back to the airport with bad tires? what if it blows up? Anyways I took the car to a tire place and it was not a big issue and I got it fixed. Be careful when you rent with Advantage (after the counter you are 100% on your own)

Cheap service just like their company is. Made a reservation for 9am, paid online before hand and arrived early. They told me they had no cars available but serviced other customers. They put me on a “waitlist” and claimed to call me but only got a call from them after they got rid of all there cars and no one else was in the waiting area besides me basically cleared house first then “scraps” meanwhile this was at 12pm 3hrs after the ordeal. Still refused to serve me then rather accommodate my lost of time. Horrible sub human being that have no bright future of employees. Will never do business with them ever again. Would you tell us what would have made it better? To your question, I really don’t know where to start. If I could give you minus points / stars, I would have given you minus five (-5) points / stars! OK, the price for the rental car was really good, but that’s the only positive comment I can give you. Here my explanation, I reserved the car on September 1. for 8 AM. As I arrived at the airport (EWR) with some delay. Five customer were in front of me, fair. Only two front desk members served the customer. It took 35 minutes until I was served, 35 minutes! In comparison to Hertz or Europcar, 5 customer in front of me, the waiting time would be between 5 and 7 minutes. Anyway, as I was served, I was told no cars are available at the moment and I have to wait approximately 8 minutes. Keep in mind, the same story was told to four customer in front of me. 45 minutes later, we were told still no cars are available. After several follow-up’s we were told only minivans are available. A customer behind me had a side conversation with the supervisor in charge. She a kind of let it happen for him skipping the line and renting a minivan instead the car he originally reserved. As we spoke up, the supervisor ignored our concerns and questions and tried to peruse her task. Even the front desk members questioned the supervisor’s action. After we sorted out the situation, we finally got a car assigned. But still, the additional car inspection took another 10-15 minutes. Back to my Hertz or Europcar rental comment prior, the car inspection is smooth and takes me 3 minutes. To your initial question, what would have made it better: 1. You should have enough rental cars onsite! 2. If you identify low number of cars / car types, you should inform your customer immediately via email or text message! 3. If you identify low number of cars / car types, you should offer automatically the next category of cars available, without any additional costs or even offer a smaller car for a lower rate, without me asking! 4. You should train your stuff for being professional, friendly (NOT the woman I was served, she was overwhelmed with the situation but still very professional and friendly, unfortunately her counterpart was not) and customer oriented. 5. You SHOULD train your supervisor! She took NO ownership, she did NOT standup for her team, she did NOT backup her team, she did not wear her nametag, and she even did NOT given out her name as we asked. Short, she made the entire situation actually worst by fighting back to the customer! 6. You should teach your employee the following “The customer is king and the customer is always right (ok, to a certain extend)”! Long story short, worst experience I had with a car rental company and I really have to reconsider using your services again in the future.

My family and friends rented two vehicles from here to visit sections of Jehovah Witnesses organization. Rates were good, access great from JFK, and return easy. If you have not driven in the New York Area before, here is a couple of tips. Get/use the Toll bridge service. All the major bridges in and out of the New York City area are toll bridges and each one varies in price. Traffic lights are different there so watch for the light placement.

I would not recommend this place at all. Their ezpass policy is 25 per day even if you don’t use it. So your car rental bill ends up almost double. Everyone in line infront and behind me was so angry. Most of the others charge 4.95 per day. Also be careful if you go through a 3rd party and receive a voucher. If you don’t have an iDP license they will refuse you and you get screwed. Stick with a brand name.

Booked a reservation 2 weeks ago. Showed up at my reservation time on thanksgiving and was told they had no more cars. They could put me on a “waitlist” but no guarantees. The guy at the counter was professional, but you could clearly see the manager and everyone else could care less. I get that mistakes happen, but it’s thanksgiving and a warning call or something would have been nice. After waiting in line for almost 30 minutes to be turned away, I’m taking my $178 Uber to my destination. This company should be footing the bill when stuff like this happens. As others have said, just because you make a reservation does NOT mean they reserve a car for you. Confusing, I know. I arrived at noon on Saturday to learn this the hard way. The counter agent said I could wait an hour for another customer to maybe return, and I was like "uh, no thanks." Got a car from Hertz instead. I also didn't feel very respected when all this went down, as the agent started blaming me by saying "you should get here early on popular weekends" and didn't seem to understand why a customer who made a reservation might be confused/upset about their car not being there. Won't rent with them again, their loss!

I live overseas and don't have a credit card but they reserved with a PayPal debit .. then on arrival at midnight tell me I can't have a car!! Representative barely acknowledged my explanation I was there to attend the funeral of my mother. Representative made me step off the line to assist others while I was forced to call to have money transferred from another account to rent the vehicle. I was embarrassed and inconvenienced. No apology was offered by the representative for the additional wait. I will never use this company again when traveling to New York.

I got in the vehicle and the dash read low pressure. I went to change the vehicle which went smoothly. What left me incredibly disappointed and angered was I paid $23.99 per day ( 2 days total) for ez pass and it didn't work. I had to come out of my pockets to pay cash for all of the tolls. This was a great inconvenience and I was embarrassed, too. Although the agents were incredibly friendly and helpful, based on this experience, I will never rent from Advsntage again. I do not recommend them, take your business elsewhere.

Booked a rental for managers special, compact or higher. Got to the ticket counter, and good old C. Luis gave me a sub compact car. When I confronted him on compact or higher, he stated that the manager picks the cars at night and wanted to charge me an upgrade price. It so happen when the manager walked by, and I questioned him, he said we don’t pick anything at night it what’s available and then stated, you can have whatever car you want and there is plenty to choose from, and he told Luis to give us what we want because we choose that manager special options. Ended up with a new full size car.

The car that was provided to me appeared to have been in an accident as the bumper was damaged and protruding from the car. (yes really) There were so many dents, scratches, gashes, and scrapes I ran out of space on the paperwork. The car was extremely dirty on the outside as someone wrote 'wash me' across the back and sides of the car. The inside was dirty as it still had the last customers trash in the car and in the trunk. The maintenance required light was on, windshield wiper fluid was low, and the car-seat provided was dirty. The customer service in the garage checking out was awful. She did not appear to want to be at work.. We could tell when my wife approached the window to ask a question and she turned her back and pretended that we weren't there. (It was pretty obvious) She seemed annoyed we had questions about the condition of the car and needed a car-seat. This was the worst experience at a car rental place ever. Y'all have to do better than this. I was more disappointed than I was angry because there was so much to be desired here, especially since your prices are reasonable.

I rented a Camry from Advantage in Denver CO. I returned the car in a hurry and failed to top off the tank. I had used a 1/4 of a tank and had to write off the extra expense because I was in route to drop my daughter off at the airport and she was running barely on time for her flight. She was in her car and I was supposed to drop off the rental and proceed with her to "check in" at the airport. When I checked my bank records later I saw that I had been charged $174 for the gas which is for about 3/4 of a tank at over $9 per gallon. After several calls the problem was taken care of, over and above my expectations. I knew that I was responsible for about $40 in gas usage; however Advantage went ahead and removed all gas charges which is very generous on their part and greatly appreciated. I will continue to use their services for future rentals as long as their prices remain competitive. Side note. My daughter at “check in” was deemed late by and not allowed to board her Frontier Airline plane. I was almost back to her Wheat Ridge address when she called with the frustrating news. Fortunately we were able to turn her "Lemon" experience into "lemonade"; I picked her back up at the airport, then picked up my wife and we proceeded to have a wonderful breakfast at a great restaurant in Denver called The Universal at 2911 W. 38th Ave. Their food is delicious, different and special. Attractive rate but not good experiences. I have reserved a small car through AirportRentalCars. After an hour waiting, they don't have a small car. At the counter, the customer service lady was very nice. But, there is no car. They offered a minivan. We only have two people and I don't need a minivan. Eventually she offered a SUV with $60 more. I thought the company should honor the same price since you don't have the car I reserved. At the car picking place, a woman there was not friendly. This was the first time I used Advantage. I had a prepaid reservation. They asked to put a $200 hold on my credit card so I happily gave him the credit card to put the hold. For some reason the card was declined. The person at the desk told me that I could not use another card and they could not retry running the card that was declined. This meant that I could not retrieve my reservation even though it was prepaid. I have a credit score above 750. Unbelievable. I will never rent from this company again.

However in the middle of my rental I had to exchange my vehicle and the employees in the "Return" section fell short on their customer service. I plan to take this to EUROPCAR in Switzerland and actively prevent this from happening to anyone in the future. They cannot get away with this. I would recommend Advantage to anyone in the Las Vegas area. I was given several options, including drop off points. The staff were courteous, good natured, and extremely helpful.

I never do reviews but rent cars all the time. This was the first and more then likely the last time with advantage. Checking in was okay. Approaching my unit number (25) Im noticing a mud,dust,dirt etc covered car.(have very important meetings the next morning). After walking around the car for 10mins I finally found a worker. I complained about the mess of the car I was getting and pointed out damage near the tire she said “don’t worry about the damage” I asked for a different ride and here snobby response was to go all the way back to the counter and try with them. It was 10pm and I was already annoyed and decided to give the car a try. Upon inspecting my he interior there was all kinds of stains on the inside. When exiting the lady filled out the damage form and just said car dirty and stained. I said what about the damage near the tire. She said “don’t worry about it I’ve been doing this for years” I said no I want it on there. She handed me it back and said you can write whatever you want. Long story short advantage in my opinion(first time using them) is the bottom tier and last choice rental agency, not customer friendly nor care for the looks of there cars.

The agent was rude at first then sweetened up. This was our first time in Boston and with Advantage. We were confused of the process and rushed to make financial decisions quickly. Extra charges for Tolls. State mandate on tolls to have a toll responder. Advantage $59.99 flat fee even if I only went through 2 tolls. There should be an option of a flat fee or a per toll fee. I didn't know what the drop off process was. Confused again! I wanted to make sure everything was good before leaving the car because they will charge me if something is not right. They have the power, not me...and usually after the fact.

Make sure to read the fine print I made a reservation online came to pick up the vehicle and they wanted to charge me $40 extra day even though in mymoutprint out it's stated unlimited miles they said that was only for local Renters. the guy at the front desk wasnt very helpful not even apologetic about the supposed mix up I've used other rental companies before and never had this problem. Do not use advantage rental. I wish your apology was sincere but these are various and switch tactics hidden behind the letter of the law. No where on the booking site does it start this. I double checked and even called my booking site and it's supposed to be unlimited mileage. Everyone please read the other reviews I am not alone. Luckily I had choices and cancelled my rental. I feel bad for all the travelers that come in and have no choice but to pay the upgrade fee.

Stayed at the stratosphere in Vegas and rented a car for the day from advantage. The young man behind the counter was informed about courteous. Answered all my questions. We got the economy car (2017 Yaris) which was all we needed. Drove over 400 miles in one day with it and used just over one tank of gas. Would use them again had zero issues with the experience.

Reserved car, then went to location only to find office had moved. After hunting for 35 minutes, found new office, only to stand in line, one attendant, for 25 minutes. The car I reserved wasn't clean so received "free upgrade" only to be charged 3 times what i was quoted. The car they gave me sucks gas and runs like crap. Never renting from there again. I Started to use advantage Rent-A-Car or year ago Thanksgiving when my old well known rental car company messed up another one of my reservations. I finally had enough and move down the counters and found a very pleasant attendant that bent over backwards to make sure I had a car for my Thanksgiving visit to my family. My experience over the last year has been amazing. My check in process is always smooth and quick and friendly. My vehicle always clean and ready to go. In addition, from the very first rental they provide me with little reward incentives on my next rental. What gave them 5 stars was the desk agent for sure, he was great to talk with and processed everything quickly even considering how late we arrived. We flew into Las Vegas and took the shuttle into the rental car center, it was very convenient to have every rental car option in one place. The rental car center had phone charging stations as well, which helped me to book a rental car online. Pre-paying made the counter experience much quicker, and the desk agent that finished my paperwork was very friendly and personable. They have a desk downstairs in the garage where you pick up your keys, note any car defects/dings on their paperwork, and drive away. The car itself was more basic than I was expecting (no keyless entry, only one keyhole on the driver's side) and there were some big scratches on the front/back bumper but otherwise it was just what we needed to get from A to B.

Very misleading company and brand. Information was not explained very well and after waiting in line for an hour (with only 3 people in front of us), we were in a hurry to get out and trusted the information that was verbally explained to us. The garage staff was very unpleasant to deal with as well. They make their price the cheapest so that they are the first option on buying sites, such as Priceline, Hotwire, etc., but then there are additional taxes and fees tacked onto their product. We paid basically double the price that was quoted through Priceline. Lesson learned, we will not be using this company ever again.

BEWARE: Fujiama at check in used double talk and hard sell tricks to lure you into additional insurance! Snookered us till we saw on the credit card machine it said “...you agree to purchase...” turned into a mess then she double talked me again that it was all my fault. Almost walked away. It she got a deposit already from us on our card. The check in is slow and quite a headache, our rental was 5 years old with 40k miles and smelled like someone was smoking or vaping in it before we got it. Price was great from the Hotwire deal, and that more than paid for the slight lack of customer service at check-out and return (they just don't have many people in the garage, and there's no physical receipt given - but we very quickly did get the emailed receipt). Given the negative Yelp reviews, we carefully documented every aspect of the rental with receipts etc., but given our recent experience, we are hopeful that this location has turned the corner in terms of extra/post-rental billing. Time will tell, and if we run into any problems we will update this review. Currently, I would recommend this to others, if it was the clear best-price choice.

I rented the car for 4 hours and drove 50 miles. I refueled the gas right before I returned the car and advantage charged me $140 for refueling fee saying the gas tank was emptied. I have receipt for refueling and how can 50 miles of driving used a whole tank of gas. I called them and they were not helpful at all. I rented a midsize suv to haul around a bunch of hockey gear for a memorial benefit game with the Boston bruins. I was given a subaru outback which I hardly find classified as an SUV. I called the company to inquire about changing the car it took a manager 4 days to respond to my inquiry after a second complaint was made. I was told that it is in fact an SUV according to the compcom in a very brief impersonal email. There were about $300 in fees which I was not expecting.

Slowest rental place ever. Took 45+ minutes with two people in line. Toll options are complete scam--$10 fee per day, even if you don't use it every day or $25 fine per toll. Complete rip off. I rented through advantage because it was marginally cheaper than the other agencies--but you lose all of that in the toll scam.

They also marked the tank was full - and it was only 3/4 full, so I ended up having to pay for 1/4 tank of fuel I didn't use. They were certainly cheaper - so I guess you get what you pay for. My Mass Easy Pass was stolen from my car the day after I returned it. I called from the airport 1 hours after returning the car to notify them I left it on the wind shield. I called the next day to get the run around and found out a week latter that the company that maintains the easy passes stole it with my mount. I reported this to Mass Easy Pass and was told a number of these Easy Pass had been reported stolen from this location. Hopefully they will charge the company that is stealing them. Other than that, I had no problems renting a car from this location other than painfully slow customer service workers at the check in counter.

We had a delay in getting our car, which is understandable. However, the front desk staff seemed very disorganized, and couldn’t tell us how long it would be until a car was ready. When we finally got our car about 45 minutes later, we got to the exit gate and there was no attendant there. After a few minutes a worker came over and asked for our papers and circled our car, but walked away and did nothing. 3 mins later, nothing. Finally I got out of the car and got the attention of a worker. He asked me where our papers were and if someone had already done the walk-around on the car. It felt more like an interrogation than like he was trying to help. If this was a free service, I’d understand the delay and the treatment at the gate. But since we’re a paying customer, it left a bad taste in our mouths. I won’t be using Advantage anytime soon, at least not at the Boston Airport.

Day 2 of having this car, it leaves us stranded and dies in the parking garage of the event we are attending. Finally got AAA out there after my fiance from Ca calls them and demands them to send roadside assistance over (mind you it's getting dark and raining). After the jump, AAA says don't turn off the car or it will die again. Well our flight leaves at 4 am. (We are in Lowell) the hotel can't jump our car at 2 am... it's against their policy... so we have to leave in the middle of the night, leave or hotel reservations and pack up, all while the car is running, drive to Boston at midnight! Tired and frustrated we get to the counter and the Advantage associate Dave REFUSES to talk to me. I mean, absolutely refuses, says he's leaving, doesn't want to hear it, he's tired and while he's telling me this he's walking away. So I call my fiance and he says to my fiance "What do you want??" as he takes my phone heading downstairs to the car lot! I mean...I am so appalled and in udder shock! He says you'll get your deposit back and leaves. I have never in my life experienced service like this ever! I didn't know people could be so rude and heartless. He didn't even give me a chance to explain my situation. I will never ever again rent from advantage. I lost a night in my hotel and gained a while bunch of stress and lost time from the second this car died. I was so scared! Across the country, dark raining and stranded. Advantage didn't even help until my fiance stepped in. Ridiculous all the way around.

Definitely the worse car rental ever especially the one in the JFK airport. Once I returned the car, I asked the front desk staff where is the taxi line and she volunteered to call for the taxi for us. When, the taxi arrived, it seems like the taxi driver already knows her. We asked the driver to drop us off from the JFK airport to time square. Hold and behold the taxi price is 177 Dollars and it should be somewhere around 70 dollars max. Another problem was I left my bag and other items in the back seat but I didn't have the driver's phone number. So, I called the car rental 4 days ago and they said they will called the taxi driver. But until today no progress at all even though I told them I'm leaving the city soon. They haven't called the taxi driver. How difficult is it to call? Does it take a whole week to call? -_-

If I could I would give them no stars. Took 4 hrs to get the car I reserved 3 months ago. Only 1 person behind the counter and 1 person cleaning the cars. We tried calling customer service and it was 9am Eastern time and got a recording that said to call back during 8am and midnight eastern standard time clicked to talk to someone in risk management and got the same recording left a message...no call back....called back and it hung up on me. They finally got me a car and said to wait outside for it cause they were cleaning it....not... It shows up with bird poop on it not washed at all....I just wanted out of there so I took it dirty... Go to leave and had to go back cause they didn't stamp my paperwork so I could get out of the parking lot. Very bad experience . Even went to Hertz to see how much it would be to get a car from them but I would have lost $1200 if I did cause I already paid for the car threw hotwire. Hertz mentioned this has been happenings all week... Final thoughts....I personally will never rent from advantage again

Great no frills no hassle rental! A little hard to find, they're located on the 2nd floor above Hertz rental right next to the escalator. I had a good experience and would use them again. Pro tip: bring an easypass if you plan on using a cashless toll or expect a $25 fine + the toll charge for each cashless toll. In my case the Whitestone bridge, would have cost me $25x2 + $8.50x2 close to $75 total for a round trip. Instead I chose the $24 unlimited daily toll add-on, so I saved around $50 in total for the day.

Cars usually not ready and staff are very rude. Last time I had to call security to get my refund, as my car was not ready and the person at the counter, Miriam C, who identified herself as “the manager”, was not able to confirm when will the car be ready, and that was after waiting one hour at the line. Not to mention, she was yelling at the customers “if you don’t wanna wait go find another rental car agency!” Prompting 2 customers to leave the line & go to the nearby Hertz agency to get a better service and -more importantly- to get more respect and appreciation of their time. Worst rental car agency by far! I sent them a feedback with full details of the incident but nobody got back to me. Luckily I video recorded everything and if the company didn’t apologize to me for my wasted time, I’ll post the video on social media with warning not to deal with this agency no matter how low rates they post online (which are not true by the way because they tell you the car you reserved is not ready and you’ve to get another one with higher price).

Confusing ... and they were too quick to sellyou extra things to the original rental agreement. Most confusing was the NY bridge tolls...and how to calculate if it pays off to buy their " EZ pay deal" (a thing that is attached to the wind screen). But overall, great value rental firm though! At Boston Logan Airport - Rental Car Center ignore the Advantage Expressway signs that tell you to go straight to the garage(like with most other company's express programs). This service is NOT offered at this location for Advantage customers. You MUST go to the reservation desk regardless of Expressway membership or prior reservation. Knowing this will save you A LOT of time as it takes 5 to 10 minutes to give someone keys to a vehicle and you won't waster your time and place in line by going straight to the garage and finding someone to tell you that you have to go back to the desk. Vehicles are as expected and return process is as good as any others at this location once you find it. The Advantage return location can be difficult to find because you have to drive all the way around the building and then back to the front on the bottom floor and the signage to find the entrance is not very good.

I made a reservation for an SUV through Expedia about a month in advance. I went to pick up the car last Saturday morning and arrived about 15 minutes before my scheduled 7am time. When I arrived there was a long line and only one person working behind the desk. When a 2nd person finally arrived, the 1st person finished their current customer and left. When it was almost my turn, they announced there were no more cars and we had to wait for them as they are returned. Even for people with a reservation which was everyone on line. I didn't leave there until around 7:30am and I left empty handed. No cars had been returned and I had somewhere I needed to be.

Let’s start by saying I waited about 30 minutes and only 1 person was in front of me. Then they gave me a SUV without informing me and I purposely ordered a midsize sedan and didn’t want an SUV. I waited another 20 minutes for them to get me a midsized sedan. Also, although it didn’t impact me the person in front of me was told they would charge them $23 if they went through a cashless toll. Most rental agencies only charge for the toll plus a small fee like $3, so in my opinion their fees are high.

Booked with this company through Expedia like I usually do for vacation, THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!! They kept my deposit stating I returned the car a day late. I have my plane tickets for same day as return and boarded like anyone else would. Keep calling to ask why deposit was not returned and they keep telling me I kept car an extra day. When I returned on the contract return day, they said it’s all set and I could leave. NEVER LEAVE WITHOUT RECIPT! That was my mistake but after showing o was in a different state I still have no resolution. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!

I am 6.3 tall so from big SUV i had to deal with a crapy small sedan. I have told them i will make sure i leave a review that will explain and in two instances they told me we don care. This experience was on JFK NY. Go to Alamo National, Hertz stay away from ADVANTAGE ( their name stands exactly to take advantage and pray on customers) I am not sure why i even tried them.

First of all, the car I rented was not available for the time it was reserved. This was at 8:30 in the morning. This did not only happen to me, but to other customers as well, who were waiting since 7am. We were asked if we wanted to cancel our reservation or wait on line. I was number 4 online and had to wait an hour to get a car. However, people who made reservations before my time slot had an even longer wait time, such as 2 hours. Second, when a car was available, the worker who inspects the car before giving it away, did not make any notes about the car’s condition. I spotted out two dents and a huge scratch on the car and asked the worker to note it on the pre-rental vehicle inspection form. Oh but my bad luck didn't end yet, after I had the car for about an hour, I noticed that the outside rear-view mirror was broken. I had to call Advantage later on in the day to report it, so that I wouldn’t be responsible for any cost. This experience was a hassle during my vacation.

Very bad experience with this Company in federal circle Jfk I rented a car SUV CRV for 1 day and at the time of pick up the location only has 2 cars available that not cover my expectations neither similar to the car I had the reservation. The agent name Kim wants to offer me an old car Buick with a lot of scratches and no features at all but the Company consider this car a premium category. The other employee name Miryam got involved in the issue and offered to cancel the reservation and feel free to go another rental company I changed my mind and I accepted the ugly car in order for me to get out of that office The agent Kim told me to return the car with no full tank as some compensation considering that I was not happy with the deal I returned the car before 24 hours and the agent that received the car at 7 am Sunday said leave the keys in the car You can go My surprise when I requested the refund of the deposit into my credit card the agency wants to charge me for the premium update and 13,00 dollars for gas because they could not find any note from Kim or any other employee That was not my problem they did not have the car I rented in advance neither the employee offering something he was not allowed and worst the lady that received the car without checking the car to confirm if the tank was not full The Company should training the employees accordingly Very bad experience I would not recommend it at all

The agent was rude at first then sweetened up. This was our first time in Boston and with Advantage. We were confused of the process and rushed to make financial decisions quickly. Extra charges for Tolls. State mandate on tolls to have a toll responder. Advantage $59.99 flat fee even if I only went through 2 tolls. There should be an option of a flat fee or a per toll fee. I didn't know what the drop off process was. Confused again! I wanted to make sure everything was good before leaving the car because they will charge me if something is not right. They have the power, not me...and usually after the fact.

I didn't like the car, it was far from an intermediate, mid size; it was a compact. I was misled on the EZ Pass as I was told the tolls were included but they were not according to the bill. The gas option was not a smart way to go and I should not have listened to your rep. I also did not appreciate the push to get insurance. I ended up paying over double the priceline quote. Be aware that Advantage charges 23.99 each day for an EZ-Pass and that is charged the whole period that you keep the car. Other companies will charge you only when you use it. It all depends on how much you will be using it. For my case it was a huge waste of money, but you can't just do without it in NY and Advantage isn't flexible in any way.

it's supposed to be a 24/7 manned counter. we arrived on a red eye flight, got there at 5:30 am, no one was at the counter. we called their phone only to be told that someone should be there and no one knew what was going on. fast forward 40 mins later, a young african american woman named Darisa showed up like nothing was wrong, no apologies. she didn't seemed helpful at all. Then they charged me additional charges after my return of which I am still disputing. THIS IS THE WORST CAR RENTAL PLACE I have ever dealt with as I travel to NYC regularly. It took me 45 mins to get the car. The line was extremely long. 2 people were working on the computers and check in process needs to be more seamless and easy. Use data to understand when there is high demand and staff accordingly. Invest in better and simpler technology like using iPad for check in. Customers should be able to check in online and not have to wait almost an hour to get the car. Other than the SLOW check in process everything else was smooth sailing. Great car. Seamless return process. Good customer service once I waited 45 mins and got to the front of the line.

Worst rental experience I’ve encountered. Company “ran out of cars” with 10 people in front of me. I stuck it out as I had a reservation and other companies were triple the price. Waited two hours for a car to be cleaned (only had one staff member performing these duties). Management clearly does not know how to monitor reservations or properly staff. Yes the prices are great but I would spend the extra cash next time to avoid this company.

My Mass Easy Pass was stolen from my car the day after I returned it. I called from the airport 1 hours after returning the car to notify them I left it on the wind shield. I called the next day to get the run around and found out a week latter that the company that maintains the easy passes stole it with my mount. I reported this to Mass Easy Pass and was told a number of these Easy Pass had been reported stolen from this location. Hopefully they will charge the company that is stealing them. Other than that, I had no problems renting a car from this location other than painfully slow customer service workers at the check in counter.

We had reserved a midsize car months in advance and when we arrived we were told that they had run out of midsize cars and the only car they could give us was a minivan. We were going to be driving in Manhattan and minivan was too big. We asked if we could rent an crossover/SUV and we were told that we would have to pay more for that, even though we had reserved a car months in advance and they no longer had the car we reserved. The agent told us all they could do was give us a mini van or we would have to wait the for a midsize car to be dropped off. We didn't have all day to wait for a car that we had reserved so we were about to take the mini van when luckily a smaller compact economy car was returned and we had to take that instead of the midsize. We were not given a price adjustment for the smaller car either. Overall, the service was not good, we did not get the car we had reserved months in advance, and the staff did not seem to care. I will never use Advantage again.

last time I ever rent from this place. The reps are crooked and lie inorder to upsale you. I made my reservation online and when I went to pick up my vehicle they told me that because the type of vehicle i reserved wasn't available they were going to have to charge me an additional fee to put me in a different vehicle ( that's complete BS) typically if a rental car doesn't have your vehicle they upgrade u as a courtesy !!!! She also tried sneeking the insurance on the car like it was "mandatory" and when I declined,she said "well then how are YOU gonna pay for the car if you damage it" Really?! How insulting is that. Not only did they try to scam me on a prepaid toll charge coming out of the Boston airport of $60 they also tried to pass off a full car and gas and it was only 7/8. I did have them change that on the slip but somehow I knew I was going to have issues and after the fact I got charged $77 in toll charges and one parking violation which I know I paid because I had to use a local brother's account I will not use them again after I tried to call them their numbers and even the same number as which reporting on the internet....lesson learned- STAY AWAY FROM ADVANTAGE!!!

Absolutely the worst car rental experience of my life. The worst service ever. I waited in line for an agent for well over an hour. The agents were taking a ridiculously long time with each customer - as much as 20 or more minutes with some customers. When it was finally my turn I quickly saw that the problem was very poor tracking of the available cars, and possibly just not enough cars. The person before me had reserved an SUV, and was told there were no SUV's available. He was told to go stand to the side and the manager would come "work something out" with him. Finally, I was told my car was upstairs in stall 21, but when I got upstairs stall 21 was empty. I had to track down the one employee they had up there trying to do everything. He finally found my car in a different location. I felt sorry for the three employees I saw working that night. It looked clear to me that Advantage was keeping their costs low by not hiring enough employees to provide decent service, and that they were probably keep inventory too low as well. I'll be staying as far as I can from this company. Just not worth the small amount of money saved

I called because there was an issue with my car rental. Needless to say, I was charged $40.00 per day extra for a a milage package even though it did say I had unlimited miles when I rented the car but since I did not have another option, I agreed. But on top of that the company charged me an extra day, when I explained to the guy on the 1-800 number that I was given an extra hour because there was an issue when I picked up he ignored that and said that I had gone over the time. I asked to be transferred to the airport location since that is where I rented the car. He said they did not have a number for that location, when I asked for his name and location he said his name was David and he was located in Guatemala. I then asked to speak to someone in the U. S. and he said that there were no offices in the U.S. Maybe that is why the customer service is horrible. I travel a lot and I always rent from Enterprise and never had an issue, unfortunately they were out of vehicles and I happened to rent from Advantage but I will never rent from them again and I will make everyone I know hears of my experience.

I had two worst experiences from Advantage rental car service . I had a pretty bad situation twice in last 2 months. I never purchase fuel option and hence ended up returning with full gas. The agents at the return facility says that I am all good to go and I was shocked after I saw invoice . First time they charged $10 extra and second time $112 extra. This is totally worst and Advantage is not even close to other Rental car services and very poor customer service and their Claim process is worst. Our arrival at the rental desk was met with smile and pleasant greeting. I was asked for my surname within seconds the details were confirmed. I handed over my driving licence and a credit card and within a few minutes was handed them back with the relevant paperwork for my vehicle, which was in fact upgraded. If negative one was an option this company would gain that rating. Rented a compact car and when I arrived they gave me a minivan and stated it was an upgrade, what it was is they took on business they could not support. When I questioned why I could not have a compact car as there were several on the lot I was told by the manager that those where for other customers who reserved them, now I had to ask then how did you decide who would get your great upgrade or the compact car. Some may say this is not a problem except I was the only person renting, gas usage is greater if you don't have sufficient vehicles than don't make up rules, just tell your customers so they can go elsewhere, instead of trying to get the dollar.

Rented a full-size car to drive to Palm Springs at the end of June 2019. Very nice staff, very clean and nice car. Was given a VW Passat Turbo Diesel. We rented a compact car for 3 days while staying in Vegas. The car we originally received was falling apart, dents and scratches all over and smelt like marijuana inside. When I went to adjust the incline lever to position the seat, the entire lever detached from the seat. Very dissatisfying and left us feeling fooled into spending more money for a decent rental.

EDIT- I would give a 0 star if I could. They potentially will try to scam you. I reserved a full size car and paid for it up front. When I got to the place, I was told the car I reserved was not there. The agent told me the car I would be getting was lower than my initial purchase so I would be saving a bit. I was ok with that. Well come to find out, she lied and charged me for an upgrade instead so my bill was much higher. I travel a lot to Arizona to help my elderly parents, my Dad has Parkinson's, so I try to limit the amount it costs me. I would have never ever in a million years agreed to paying that much more for a car. She told me my card had to be run for the $200, but never told me she was charging me more money. Agents get commissions on upgrades so she 100% scammed me. Disgusting how they can get away with this. I was told my their customer care nothing could be done as it was a valid upgrade/agreement. I called the company (as did the other travelers) and they said, “Someone will be there in 2 minutes.” No one arrived >1 hr later. The neighboring car rental companies said they are notorious for this. This should be called “Take Advantage.” You get what you pay for. Advantage, you can make this right by covering my $105 Uber charge. You left my family stranded at 2 a.m. Advantage, don’t you dare copy and paste the canned responses seen in other negative posts. I will not take any more time giving you feedback on my experience. Overbooking is obviously par for the course in your shady business. I am also reporting this directly to Expedia through whom I booked.

Sitting at Advantage Car Rental at Logan Airporr and we are now creeping up on kne hour of waiting for a vehicle. They have one of the shortest lines but it moves the slowest. Eventually, one of the agents decided to take our names and told us to have a seat which tells me my rental is no where ready. Had I not prepaid for this rental I would have gotten my vehicle from another rental facility. I have rented directly from Logans rental car center at least 10 times and this is the worst experience yet. This is my first rental with Advantage and needless to say it will be my last. Ridiculous!

I hired a car from Advantage in Boston Logan. Good experience at the counter with the ladies and with the car during the hire period. On return to Logan I drove into the Advantage lot expecting to meet an Advantage rep who would check the car for damage and check for full fuel in my presence etc as is done on ever other carhire company. Had to wait and finally met a man with an Advantage t shirt who took the keys and went to drive away.He had no computer console with him like the professional rental car co pansies do. I spoke to an Advantage man in the office who said everything would be okay. I left and then the next day got an email with an extra charge from Advantage and when I spoke to the customer services agent she said it was because there was no record of me having returned the car. She asked me the name of who did I return the car to? She said it seems the charge was for an extra day. According to the Advantage customer services rep Advantage don’t have an email address you can directly contact them or a telephone number at Boston Logan where I could ring.I am not blaming the customer services rep. I wont be hiring from Advantage again.

I have had the most dreadful experience with this company and would suggest against using this company. We booked our car though hotwire. When we got there, they of course suggested we do an upgrade. Since we were told the weather was bad (never trust someone from TN when you are from MA on this subject), we upgraded to all wheel drive. We only agreed after seeing the total. When I received my credit card bill, the charge was more than the agreed upon total. I have now gone back and forth 5x with this company and they refuse to move on the subject. I think they are crooks and would warn that you will only end up a headache and a bill for more than you expected. Beyond the interactions on the web, the pick up and return process was some of the worst customer service that I have ever seen. My advice, STAY AWAY!

We were rented a Hyundai Santa Fe. The exterior of the vehicle was dirty. Looked as though they attempted to wash it but missed quite a few spots. The tires have very little tread left. There is significant damage on the hatchback. I never have been rented a vehicle with 58,000 miles on it. Time to retire this one.

They need more desk agents, and/or faster computers. I arrived at their desk at 2300 at Boston Logan - there were 6-7 (separate) people ahead of me, and it took an HOUR to get through the line. With two agents! Yes, there was one piece of work there who was doggedly insisting on a full size upgrade (subject to availability, of which there wasn't). I hand it to the one agent - he was courteous with the guy, and tried to find someone who could get him the car he wanted. There was another woman who had waited there for 2 hours to get her car. It was even more ridiculous because there was a line with at least a dozen people in it; we were essentially the only people in the entire rental area. Other agencies make partnerships for those kinds of occasions. It seems like Advantage is offering cut-throat rates so they can get business/loyalty, but they're providing poor service.

I had a terrible experience at Las Vegas McCarran Airport Car Pickup. The woman who served me was incredibly rude and patronising when I - correctly, as it turned out - challenged her on a price she quoted me for the Platinum package for insurance. I had been there three days prior and rented a car with the same package for around $13 a day. She quoted me $55, so I just asked her to hang on while I checked my invoice. She proceeded to become extremely rude and patronising, speaking to me as if I were a child who had limited understanding of what I was doing. When I asked to speak to the manager, I had to wait 20 minutes before she materialised. I asked for an apology, and she did not offer it, and when our discussion was over, and I had proven I had been correct in the first place about the incorrect insurance quote, she just said ‘I’m sorry you feel that way’. After giving me my receipt, she turned around and walked off without so much as an apology or a ‘goodbye’. When I called after her to suggest she greets her customers, she said “oh I already did that” over her shoulder. At the very least, an apology from the woman who served me to begin with would have been appreciated. Especially when she was wrong to begin with, not to mention the attitude. Very disappointing and has left a sour taste in the mouth after my first trip to the USA.

There were two people working the desk at Logan airport and 5 people in front of me. It took 45 minutes to pick up a prepaid online reservation. What can possibly take that long? The toll tag fee is absurd. $10 a day when they know you need one to get out of the airport is gouging. They got $30 to pay my $6 of tolls. It’s impossible to spend anything near $10 a day in tolls, so they rip you off because you have no choice. I’ll never use them again. Being slightly cheaper is not worth the headaches.

It was a bait and switch deal for me. The price was good but it did not include $30 per day for basic insurance. If I had known that I would have gone with a different company. I did not think it was a very good business practice. Once the reservation is made and you go all the way to the rental car place it's nearly impossible to start the process over to rent a car with a different company and Advantage knows that. I was on vacation for 5 weeks and rented 7 cars. It was the only company that did that. PLEASE BE UPFRONT ABOUT YOUR PRICES. I will not rent from them again.

"You are on your own if you don't take our extra cover" summed up their attitude to customer service. Ordered a bigger and better car and was given a smaller and inferior car, although other companies do this. The staff at the counter and at the car collection point made very little effort explaining the contract or the car. When I asked questions, they were impatient. The counter staff seemed far more interested in trying to sell me extras than helping me. They added on an extra fuel payment which I saw after examining the bill, had to argue to get it removed. I would be very hesitant about using Advantage again.

I had a note from Cody (also working same location), saying I can add another driver for no extra charge against the upgrade Cody offered. We rented the "Manager's Special" for a week and were pleasantly surprised that we were not stuck with a tiny compact for a family of four with luggage. Ended up with Chevy Cruze. Everyone was very helpful and the process was quick and easy. Car was a little dinged up and scratched, but that didn't bother us- if someone was trying to use the car to pick up clients and appearance was important, then maybe... Overall, they delivered what they said and will definitely be renting again.

JFK airport return had no signs where to leave the car once upstairs, so I brought the car by the front door. I was greeted by a rude, loud person asking me how I got up here and demanding I move the car. Still unsure where to go and not being directed, I walked inside by the counter. The counter person told me to leave the keys in the car and they will send the receipt. Having had issues in the past, I asked him to check the car and fuel level. After checking the car and fuel and a brief conversation with the first attendant, he tells me that he will not close the rental contract until I put the car in the right aisle. I mention that I am the customer here, and is there a reason the other agent can't move the car. Again giving no clear direction, I drive around again and then ask where to put the car. I put the car in the last aisle assuming that is the right place. I went back in and my receipt was on the counter with neither agent around to speak to. Holding my contract hostage until I move their car is deplorable and needs to be addressed and corrective action taken against the two agents.

The rental office at Logan in Boston MA is NOT easy to find, staff is rude, and insensitive to customers. They seemingly hate their jobs and the customers. (Understandable) BUT great car, great price, and would actually use again. So, I reccomend it! Just know, the office is on the bottom corner of the rental garage, (not near other rental pick up/drop off area), trust the third party price, they did allow use of debit, not credit card, they did return the security deposit in a timely manner and had new cars in great running condition. DO NOT rent from here. A total scam. They charged us $200 for not refilling the gas before returning (which we did). When I called customer service, they didn't want to help until I demanded speaking to a supervisor who finally could tell me what was going on. And the woman at the customer service at JFK lied to me and said that I had to get the EZpass otherwise I'd be charged a fine for going through cashless tolls (which there are none). I had two worst experiences from Advantage rental car service . I had a pretty bad situation twice in last 2 months. I never purchase fuel option and hence ended up returning with full gas. The agents at the return facility says that I am all good to go and I was shocked after I saw invoice . First time they charged $10 extra and second time $112 extra. This is totally worst and Advantage is not even close to other Rental car services and very poor customer service and their Claim process is worst. I will never ever get a rental car from Advantage or EZ car.

The staff (Luis) behind the counter gave me such an attitude because he was trying to tell me that the person who drop me off couldn't park in front so I asked him where should they go. Instead of politely giving me instructions or directions, he gave me attitude. When I spoke to an attendant outside and I explained what had just occurred they told me not to worry and showed me where to park, stating that they didn't understand why he spoke to me in such a manner. This was the worst car rental experience I’ve ever had the displeasure of going through. Took 35 minutes at the counter for the agents to see 4 people in front of me. They continuously left the counter to go check to make sure there were actually cars available. Finally, I make it up there, handle the paperwork, and at the last minute I’m told “Ok sir your car isn’t available yet, it’s being washed. Please wait outside and we’ll get it to you.” So, here I am, 15 minutes later, for a total of 50 minutes at this place and I still haven’t received a car for a reservation I already made. UPDATE: they just brought my car. And it smells like the last person smoked 2 packs in it. At this point I don’t care, I just need to get out of here. Zero stars.

I hand it to the one agent - he was courteous with the guy, and tried to find someone who could get him the car he wanted. There was another woman who had waited there for 2 hours to get her car. It was even more ridiculous because there was a line with at least a dozen people in it; we were essentially the only people in the entire rental area. Other agencies make partnerships for those kinds of occasions. It seems like Advantage is offering cut-throat rates so they can get business/loyalty, but they're providing poor service.

I had gone thru Hotwire and this one was one of the best deals. I was admittedly concerned because I had never heard of the company. However, the whole experience was flawless. A perfect experience. And I wouldn’t hesitate to rent from advantage again!!

There were two people working the desk at Logan airport and 5 people in front of me. It took 45 minutes to pick up a prepaid online reservation. What can possibly take that long? The toll tag fee is absurd. $10 a day when they know you need one to get out of the airport is gouging. They got $30 to pay my $6 of tolls. It’s impossible to spend anything near $10 a day in tolls, so they rip you off because you have no choice. I’ll never use them again. Being slightly cheaper is not worth the headaches.

Horrible Service, the team at this location needs to fired or trained on customer service! As a 1st time renter with Advantage, my experience here was awful. No car was ready and the agent is telling me I hv to wait an hour for a customer to return a vehicle which then needs to be cleaned! I would not recommend anyone to use this company for car rental services at JFK.

It was a bait and switch deal for me. The price was good but it did not include $30 per day for basic insurance. If I had known that I would have gone with a different company. I did not think it was a very good business practice. Once the reservation is made and you go all the way to the rental car place it's nearly impossible to start the process over to rent a car with a different company and Advantage knows that. I was on vacation for 5 weeks and rented 7 cars. It was the only company that did that. PLEASE BE UPFRONT ABOUT YOUR PRICES. I will not rent from them again.

For the most part, my experience was good. The girls at the counter, picking up and dropping off, were very professional, courteous and helpful. The only reason I don’t give a 5 star is because the girl in the parking lot, (Nafeesa) when dropping the car off, was very rude and unprofessional, because evidently, without me knowing, I took a shortcut in the parking lot.
