Horrible (Avis) service. Picked up car just after midnight and as Avis preferred, went to get my car. All exits closed and blocked by parked cars. Took an hour to get out after Budget employee opened one exit booth. After returning car and a week later, still no receipt. Turns out they have / had NO record of me ever having the car or a rental agreement for 13 days. Case file is opened and no response still from Avis....

Turns out there's a hidden 150 dollar fee that was never mentioned for not returning the vehicle in the state you got it from. We received the car in Jersey and returned it in Maryland where we live and were surprised by the return fee.

The BWI Rental Car Facility is about average for similar facilities shared by all of the major companies. A positive is that the shared shuttles are frequent. A negative is that the are often packed to capacity. Although the signage that directs you to the facility is adequate, it is still a long way to the airport.

I love that they have shuttles that come and get you, often, little waiting. Plus, if you forget to leave the keys, you can just leave it with the driver. It's sort of far from the airport, so hope your not in a rush. The service is nice, I went with National so I just went straight to my car.

Guy at the counter was on his phone SMS didn't look up at us. Very short. Impersonal. Paid for standard SUV, but they tried to give us a small SUV. The guy that escorted us to our vehicle was really nice and helpful. He gave us a larger SUV and even helped us load our luggage.

Fast friendly easy return. Gas stations are on the outer airport loop, but follow signs that will direct you to the return area. Pay attention to agency signs. Busses run every 5 mins to and from the terminal.

You get a good agent or a bad one. Car service roulette. This facility is not right next to the airport, so you will need to hop on a bus shuttle. The car rentals companies ..as far as I remember, are Avis, Budget, Hertz. There are a few others.

I love this car rental facility. It's easy in, easy out. There's always shuttles available without waiting. I had to drop off my car today before a agent was there and I still had a email receipt by 615 am. The prices are reasonable and generally speaking, the staff is friendly.

The inside of the facility is nice and modern. Good variety of rental companies. Once you get to the parking lot it is difficult to find the rows your vehicle is on because they are not organized in a logical way (for example a to z). Drop off was easy to find where we needed to go.

Hertz had us trapped in their rental facility with no way to exit for over 30 minutes after we "chose" the only car available to us. They did a horrible job communicating with the cars in line and everyone was frustrated.

It took 1hr 20 mins to get a car. It was only 3 people working and they moved with no since of urgency. Once we got our contract finished... no one told us where to go to get our car, so we roamed around aimlessly until an Hertz guy assisted us. Finally, we located the car but no key!!!!!! 30 more mins and a associated assisted us in finding the key. The car was filthy.... we had to go vacuum and clean it ourselves. I will NEVER rent from Budget at BWI again!

The rental car facility is located 15 minute drive from the airport. This adds extra time to pick up and return the car. Although the shuttle runs every 15min, it adds time to your travel plans. The rental cars are stored in a covered garage area which is good when the weather is bad. It's just getting your luggage in and out of the rental car building can be a hassle

Hertz clerk stranded me and reply was I can not help you! Some customer service attitude. I had reserved car online, they could not accept Mastercard chip payment, my Chase account flagged attempt to pay as possible fraud activity. after I cleared transaction with bank Hertz "Customet service rep advised me that they require 24hr wait to use my card. Svc rep's attitude was deplorable...Enterprise had me in car 15 mins later. The rep should find another field of work!!

Although things started off a little Rocky as three agents were tending to a single customer when I got on the service line it took one agent 5 mins to get to his station to service me after I made a remark are there anyone else to help me in the back. Easy in and easy out, at least at Budget. The shuttle is quick (about 8 minutes from the airport to the facility and vice versa) but you may have to wait a bit as the bus can fill quickly during busy times. In my experience Google Maps will not leas you to the rental car return - follow the signs and they'll get you there.

There were at least 15 people in line when I arrived and never failing Budget had my Fastbreak rental ready. Nice to be able to bypass the line, grab a vehicle, and be on my way. It might as well be in a different state from the terminal, along some improbable secondary roads with lots of long lights and left turns (and completely devoid of gas stations). For planning purposes, even after you’ve found it, allow at least 30 minutes to get between the rental car facility and the terminal PLUS however long it takes you to turn in your rental car. 15 minutes for the drive and 10-15 minutes for the bus to arrive, and for arrivals, don’t count on boarding the first bus to arrive, because in busy periods, you’ll be waiting for the second or third bus. Frankly, from a “how much time does it take” perspective, it’s the worst rental car facility this side of MIA. There are flights out of BIA where the flight time is less than the time it takes to turn in a rental car. I hate it. Modern American airport planning seems to favor putting consolidated rental car facilities as far away from the actual airport terminal as possible and then run the absolute minimum number of buses to them. BIA was a pioneer in this foolishness. Shun these evil evil fools.

Did not have cars available when we arrived even though we had reservations. Had to wait half an hour for someone to return a car. Having all rental companies in the same place may not be a bad idea but using one big bus to pick up and deliver all the customers is. Had to wait too long for the bus both coming and going. The bus was packed to the rim both times. Have to plan to arrive extra early at this place in order to assure you don't miss your flight. Car worked fine. Delivery was quick and easy.

Quick pick up by the bus service. Line at the car rental for pick up of car won't pretty quick. Return was a breeze. Only complaint would be the attendant directing us was a bit short in her directions of how to pick a car....little rude.

We waited 30mins at BWI for the shuttle, then it took us another 30-45 mins to get our rental from Hertz. There were only two employees at the counter, one helping to vehicles, and two open exits. The whole venture from waiting for our shuttle to leaving the lot took nearly 90mins, all their kiosks were down.

this is a place where you pick up and return rental cars, it does this well. the shuttle between here and the airport runs regularly and doesn't delay you much. i like that they have seating and a spacious lobby where you can drop your tired family, conduct your business, and get on your way.

For an airport rental car facility this place is pretty darn good. It's close to the airport by shuttle bus, always super clean, and its easy to get in and out of. Many of there at other airports can be extremely confusing to find when returning your car but that's not the case here.

I use Enterprise. I don’t have any problem with the rental car companies themselves. My problem is the distance from the airport. It’s a 20 minute bus ride minimum. Brutal if you’ve been traveling all day or if you’re trying to time your commute. Might as well Uber or Lyft to a rental car facility near wherever you’re staying.

I love the fact that I was able to rent a car when I got down to Baltimore but it was difficult when I went to turn the car in no one can tell me how to get back to the Payless car rental place I drove around for 30 minutes trying to find the Payless car rental place nobody seems to know how to get there and needs to be better directions to the garage and to find it on time I am missing my plane

Picking up the car took 1 hour and 50 minutes. It wasn't even the car we were to get. Returning the car was much easier. So bring your lunch when your waiting to get your rental.

We reserved our rental car weeks ago through Payless car rental. When we arrived reservation in hand we were told they were out of cars. Unbelievable!! No apologies no assistance finding a new car no vouchers. Payless car rental should go under like the shoe company. Poor ratings from us.

The facility is fine, but having to ride a bus for 10+ minutes on roads carrying airport bound tragic is just silly. If you're going to put the rental car facility beyond walking distance, there should be a train or at least dedicated shuttle lanes.

The rental car shuttle service needs to be revamped. I'm not an impatient person but to get on the shuttle is utter chaos. The bus drivers do not park in the same point. My family and I had to wait until the 4th bus because there was no consistency as to where the bus would park. There are no barriers for lines so patrons board the bus like a horde. Plus the bus drivers anrily voice their displeasure to the patrons, when the horde of patrons pack the bus causing the door not to close. Please fix this.

I try to not leave bad reviews. I understand everyone has their bad days. That said this wasn't a bad day, this was a place not able or willing, I think a little bit of both, to help a customer. A bag was left at the airport in Chattanooga. My credit card was in it. I had everything else. My license, other bank cards, cash. But because that one credit card was lost at the airport they would not let me pick up a car I had already paid for. I waited over 4 hours for a solution to a problem that seems awfully minor to me. I recommend using a different company to rent cars. The staff here is unable and unwilling to help of something goes wrong.

The Car Rental Facility and the Shuttle Bus Deserve 5 Stars, the service was Great and Efficient......but, I was Extremely Frustrated in the Baggage Claim- Ground Transportation Area of BWI Looking for Where you go for the Rental Cars. Lots of Signs for other Forms of Transportation, Trains, Shuttles, Taxis..... Nothing about Rental Cars or a Shuttle to the Rental car Facility. Once you Walk outside and Wander around you will find a Shuttle Stop Marker for the Rental car Facility. BWI Management needs to take a look at the Signage in the Bag claim Area and act as a Arriving Passenger that does Not know where to go...Make it Easy Not a Mystery

Great facility but it is kind of a long travel time. I am Executive level renter at National and signage helped point me on the right direction. I walked out to the lot, chose my vehicle and was quickly on my way. The shuttle bus driver was awesome. He used his personality to make the ride fun.

Mother was on her death bed. Pre rented the vehicle and when i got there they would not rent it to me. I prepaid and was set, so i thought. After an hour raising hell and talking to corporate they dont take debit cards. They neglected to tell me that. Gave them a visa card and got the car. Why did they not say something!! Thank god i got to see my mom and say my goodbyes. She didnt make it through surgery. The girl that was at the rental desk could care less about my emergency. Was no help. Simple three words, no debit cards, would have save me the frustration and anger trying to get to my mom. Had i missed saying goodbye.......

This is a nice facility and the shuttle buses operate frequently, so the off site location is not too inconvenient. My biggest complaint is that it seems they purposely built it where it is nowhere close to a gas station. So if you are returning a car here, I recommend Royal Farms gas station off if Nursery Rd.

Great facility, but too far from the airport and a bus is required. I often travel with a Pelican Case or two of video production gear in addition to regular luggage, hauling everything on and off a super crowded bus is painful. On my last trip through there yesterday, it seems that they were down a bus or two as the shuttle was packed like a subway car in Japan.

Rental car return was fine. Shuttle ride to terminal was downright rash/ almost had a crash. Give yourself 30+ mins extra esp. If you have bags to check. Delta is 4th stop. SWA is 1st stop.

This rental car facility is located in a very convenient spot for drop off and pickup. Every time I come to this location it is always clean and presentable. I have used the restrooms here and they are always clean and without any mechanical issues or bad smell.
