This was my first time ever renting a car from budget. My first time ever flying to another state and was scared out of mind. But as soon as I got to the car rental place and stood in line patiently waiting my turn. The female(Gemini) staff member made me feel welcome and acknowledged my Birthday making feel so wonderful on my day. I will recommend this company to anyone that needs a rental. Thank you Budget for showing me special love on my day and for my first time renting from you all!

It was not very good. Drove a new vehicle for 12 hours with bad tires in bad weather. Told the manager about it did nothing. Make shore you check what you get. They do not care about your safety at all.

If it were possible to give negative stars then that would be my selection. Be careful of potentially dishonest practices at this location. I returned a car here in May 2016 which was thoroughly inspected and given a check-in slip indicating no damages. Thirty minutes later I receive a voicemail telling me there's damages to the windshield. A few weeks later I receive a collection letter for the damages. Included in the packet is a check-in slip that now has damages indicated which is NOT the slip I handed to the desk agent, Rosario. If this were the check-slip, why would they need to call to let me know the car had damages. I would have known at the time the check-in agent inspected the car and according to their own policy would have filled out an accident report. The car was returned, no damages indicated and no longer in my possession. I have no way of knowing what happened to the car after I left. When I requested photos of the damages none could be provided. Budget can essentially mark up a check-in slip after the fact and pressure customers to pay. I don't know but it sounds fraudulent to me. Be cautious.

Normally I have no complaints about car rental agencies, but in this case, I had plenty of problems. They put me in three different Vehicles before I got off the lot. The first car, a service light came on and required the car to be left at their garage for service, the second vehicle, as we tried to pull off the lot we were told somebody else was supposed to be using that vehicle. Finally, on the Third vehicle we were able to get out before they could stop us for some other reason. During the process of moving our baggage and personal items from car to car, my cellphone got left behind, either in one of the cars, or one of the four times I had to go to the counter resolve all the problems we had. The employees were very courteous, but something in their processing really stunk.

Manager sucks ...dont make her angry shell leave you standing there to go help the preferred customer before you and she is the worst stay away let one of the other ladies help you they are better she will even try and charge you for something in the car that wasnt even your fault i would say take pics before leaving the lot bc they cars arent always free of dents Nd stains on seat . As far as price we got a decent price comparable to other car rental places. The employee who helped us was efficient. The first car they gave us was filthy inside. Food and trash still in the car from last person. So we asked for another. The other was clean on the outside and trash free but liquid spills on the steering wheel, side door panels. Get the cars cleaned before next person and I would give 5 stars.

Almost completely worthless... Reserved a car a week in advance, showed up and they didn't have it. Paid a premium to guarantee it was there. Took them almost 2 hours to get it. Missed a planned event. Insincere staff... Really didn't care at all... One person was very nice but ultimately little help. They said they called Supervisor Carmen Gommel to ask for a decent discount and she refused. Avis-Budget, you have 1 important job. Get your customer the car they ask for and do it on time. When you screw that up you should bend over backwards to keep your customers. My company won't be using you again and I'll be sure to tell all my corporate clients about you as well. Update: We got an email reply based upon a survey we submitted and they knocked about 30% off the rental. Much better but it took more legwork on our end to make it happen... Our original 1star review is now a 2star!

Impolite staff didn't explain rental conditions, car wasn't clean with lots of hairs of previous users (pink colored hairs which were very easy to see, find and remove). Windows not cleaned. Not recorded previous damages at front which were recorded after I requested.

Don't rent your car in this location!!! It is a irregular agency. They charged me $172 after half year!!! Ridiculous. I paid full insurance fee but they limit me on areas where I can go, which was not informed when I booked and paid online. If your car has any problem on the road, other Budget sites would have difficulties to help you solve the problem, because this agency isn't in the same system with other Budget agencies. It's so weird.

Read the reviews online and so many bad reviews, but took a chance. This was within WALKING distance of the French Quarter (it's right on the border actually). We rented a Focus size car for my wife and I and we got a Soul that worked out perfectly. Sure the car had more marks/scratches on it than normal, but we took our time, photographed it and made a note of it all on the paper. They were friendly and FAST. We were in and out in not time. Our 'estimated' bill was $250 and change and we had to drop the car off at the airport at 4am for our flight a week later. NO PROBLEMS AT ALL - and our "total" bill on the credit card? $250 and change - no issues WHATSOEVER. I'd totally rent with Budget again and at this location.

I have been to St Louis multiple times for work. Everytime I've landed after 10 PM, I've had to wait over 45 minutes in line to get a car. I'm a FastBreak member and that doesn't seem to make an ounce of difference. They need to figure their s**t out and get more people working nights because this is absolutely ridiculous

Worst car rental experience I've ever had. Took 30 minutes to get to the desk. Then I had to wait another 30 minutes for the wrong car type to arrive. They told me I'd get a reduction on my bill. They actually charged me more. I gave two cars because the car was brand new. Everything else about this place was terrible.

Overall, a very good experience. Waiting for the shuttle from the airport to the rental facility was very slow, as was the rental process (over an hour from the time we set foot out of the airport until we were driving out of the rental lot). The car was exceptional; nicely appointed Camry. The return of the car was where things went from an average rental to an exceptional customer service experience. We boarded the shuttle to head back to the airport, and the driver was incredibly happy and listening to Christmas music. As we were leaving the parking lot, I realized I left me cell phone in the car. The shuttle bus driver said "No problem!" and quickly returned to the lot to allow me to retrieve my cell phone. Not only did he return to the lot, but pulled up adjacent to the car we'd just dropped off. I made a quick dash to the car, retrieved my phone. Got back on the shuttle and he stopped back at the rental building to pick up additional passengers and off to the airport we went.

Did not have car ready at reserved time. Waited a full hour beyond reservation time, and the car provided was not the size I reserved. Customer service was rude and apathetic (seemed like this happens constantly and they're tired of taking the flak). I rent cars about once a month, and this is pretty solidly the worst experience I've had.

My deal online however when I got there I had put my husband's name and as the person making the reservation. However when I got there the agent was very nice to tell me that I had to call the online services to make sure that the reservation in the credit card was in the same name. When I did call they were able to make the adjustments and actually give me a better deal than I had had previously. I like this car rental place plus I was able to get an upgrade I do not rent often but when I do this will be my number one choice. When I did call to speak to the representative online his name was Jay and he was able to really help me out a great deal.

Terrible customer service and an awful overall experience. The front desk folks were extremely rude, and didn't seem to understand how to properly rent a car. The car was in terrible condition, gross stains on the seats and smelled like cigarettes. I will never rent from there again. It's worth the extra time to go to the airport.

Rented a car back in May in Dallas Tx.on the road I noticed the car didn’t perform the way it should but it got me to my destination and back. 3 months later I I get a 500 bill for damages that I didn’t create. Talked to budget and they said since I didn’t report that the car was running funny I was reliable for it and have to pay for it. I will not ever rent from budget again. And will not give any good reviews. Or refer them to anyone.

Avoid. We prepaid the total cost of our rental vehicle weeks in advance to ensure it would be there the day of the reservation. On reservation day we show up and are given an inferior vehicle inadequate for our needs and no price adjustment because they said they can't alter prepaid reservations. They would not assist in getting the appropriate vehicle we paid for from other sister locations. Never had such bad customer service and lack of caring from a rental car company, especially after a prepaid reservation.

An okay place to rent a car. We got a Ford Taurus, which was a very nice, keyless car. It was very clean and orderly. The problem was that the lines were very long and there was only 3 people at the counter. Also, we drove 11 hours from Destin, and we still had to fill the tank. In the end, we forgot because we had been driving all day. So, they charged us $9.99 per gallon. That wasn't very nice. Otherwise, a good place to rent a car.

The budget airport shuttle driver was lazy and cranky. He obviously hates his job. The ladies were very sweet at check in. The check in was ok time wise. We rented a Premium SUV which was a nice Ford on the outside, but when we opened the doors... it was dirty. Crumbs everywhere, dirt, sticky stuff in the cup holders. We payed good money for this vehicle. It wasn't ready when we got there because supposedly not a whole lot of people rent this type of vehicle. I most likely won't rent from Budget again.

Avoid at all costs. Shady company. Scam artists. Tried to put additional charges on my bill without asking- I caught it and had them removed from the receipt that I signed, but still had to call their customer service agent because the charges remained on my credit card. ALSO, I received the car with less than half a tank, and notified the attendant before leaving the lot- he told me to return the car with the same amount of gas, and wrote on my paperwork to document this. Well, I was charged $70 for returning it less than full, and customer service refused to refund me. Never again.

If I could give this place a ZERO, I would. My car rental broke down on the way to the airport and conveniently there was NO information on who to get a hold of in the glove compartment or online. The only information I had was a “road side assistance” number. Every time I called, I’d be on hold for 25-30 minutes and they would hang up! My last wait time lasted 48 minutes until an actual human picked up! By this time, I was already running late to my flight and I had to leave the car where it had broken down. The lady on the phone did not care at all and said that I was responsible if anything happened to the car! I tried to explain that I cannot miss my flight just because they have very poor service and long wait times. I even stopped at the physical facility and they redirected me to that stupid car assistance number that no one answers on anyways! Meanwhile, my fiancé in Utah was trying to get a hold of budget corporate to explain the situation and that I needed help with the car ASAP. They just kept sending him to the same exact road side assistance number that he said wasn’t working for us. This is the worst customer service I have EVER experienced. I travel for a living and rent numerous cars all over America. This by far has been the worst I’ve seen. I will make sure everyone in my entire company never rents from Budget again! I will say, at least one lady at the actual facility was nice. No one else seemed to care.

I was number 7 in line and I walked out of there within like 15 minutes. The bill was exactly what the estimate said and there was no pressure to buy additional stuff

It was a nightmare ! After a long day at the airport from cancellations to delays. Caught the shuttle to Budget at the Detroit Airport to find a long line with only one person working the counter checking people in. After standing in line 2 hours we see another employee come out from in back to assist the 1 person working thinking we will finally get our rental car. But, no.....she just helped her with that one customer & went back into the back office again. Then finally after 3 hours we picked up our rental car around 4:30am. And on top of the long excruciating wait we were charged for the change, not discounted !!! Horrible experience & will never use Budget again !!! So our recommendation if you want to reach your destination in a timely matter DO NOT use Budget Rental Car !!!

The car didnt have a full tank of gas when I picked it up. The car was not clean. I realized the fuel situation and was directed back to the fuel pump. The vehicle exterior was bug filled and I have never experienced this when renting a vehicle. The gas was taken care of but to fly in First Class and drive a dirty vehicle is not something I can recommend to friends and family.

This location is extremely understaffed and undersupplied. The website stated they had almost all varieties of cars available but when I finally was able to get someone on the phone at the location, she told me there would be nothing at all available for a week. When asked about the stock listed on the website she stated "the website will let you reserve whatever you want, but I'm telling you we only have two cars and 10 reservations for the next week." Dont waste your time.

Different day, same results. Horrible customer service. Two people working, one just watching. Waited in line for over 20 minutes - and there were only two other customers in front of me. First car smelled like marijuana. Second car smelled like a cigarette factory. 4WD didn't work, check engine and traction control lights on. Didn't have a choice; I was already going to be late for my meeting.

Chuck at rental desk is the best. He was very knowledgeable and friendly even though tour bus after tour bus tried to hand him room keys to check out. Most spoke little to no english and he had to repeat himself many time. Chuck keeps his cool and remained friendly to all. The car was clean and had only a miner scratch or two. Normally I have good experiences with Budget Rental Car. I do rent cars pretty regularly, and use Budget almost every time. This time however, my 5 hour drive was horrible rain and fog from the weather warming up. Otherwise I may not have noticed how horribly filmed and dirty all of the windows were. Like they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time! Just thought I'd mention my good, and now my disappointment...Being that it made my entire drive very difficult to see.

Took an hour to get the midsize suv that we had not only booked and paid for a week prior, but had double checked in person two days earlier to make sure would be there so that we could get a prompt start to our trip. July 20, 2019 firstly, it’s only two people working the counter @ 4p on a Saturday. I had requested a toddler car seat that the clerk said none were available but then I look to my left and I seen another customer getting a toddler seat! Then they gave me a car which was a Hyundai accent but it had Florida tags and the tags were expired on June 2019 and I have proof of a picture to prove it. Then they gave me a Toyota Corolla that had Texas plates and the registration was in the front of the car window. The car was not detailed, it was stained, it had a maintenance required prompt on the dashboard that wasn’t attended prior to renting out. Overall a completely disappointing experience regarding this location.

I had unfortunately come into Washing Union Station and rented the car at a location 2 miles away from the station -- (and the location I had at the time of the registration turned out to have mover several blocks away - I discovered after the taxi had left me off at the wrong address) Anyway, when I got to the correct address, the woman who greeted me was very pleasant - and changed the return address for the Union Station return, she also got me signed up for the rewards program, and saved me $50 on the three week rental. Anyway, the experience was very pleasant, and something that is all too often rare these days - and will keep me coming back to Budget. Also when I did return the car, they were nice, and in that I had a lot of luggage drove me from the return location at Union Station to the front of the station making much easier to get to the departure area.

I just wasted 30 extra minutes because of Budget's incompetence this morning. I go to my car and the spot I'm assigned. The model and license plate, state matchup so I get in and move on. At the exit gate rep tells me "oh no you picked the wrong car." I say are you sure? This was definitely in c11 and same model, etc. She tells me this is my problem and I need to go back and check. I don't fully believe her but I comply. After circling back to the spot yes I definitely picked from the right location. At this point the line to exit is now 6 cars deep. I get in line and while I'm waiting try to flag another rep down. She looks at me and keeps walking. After about 15 minutes I'm back with the same rep who is visibly irritated that I'm there. She tries to say she can't help me. I say I'm sorry you're going to have to because no one else can. And by the way, did I cause this problem? She begrudgingly taps into her computer and in under 5 minutes has resolved whatever their problem was. Thank you Budget, I was late to my meeting because of your nonsense.

I usually rent from Enterprise, since this was an unexcpected I did a group deal and budget was the most affordable. However I am use to GPS being standard in all vehicles so I was disappointed. Also the lobby was filthy.

Employees were friendly and helpful. NO LINE at all. Much better to use this location than the airport based on cost. We took the T Blue Line two stops from the airport, it was super easy. The car we received was brand new, in perfect condition, never gave us any trouble in the week we had it. Marvelous all around. highly recommend!

Wow, I should have looked at the reviews first. I thought a National company would be OK and booked this rental through Expedia for a recent long weekend in Michigan. Boy was I wrong! I flew into Detroit from and took the shuttle to the airport facility. There was a pretty long line, but the lady who handled my rental was excellent and I got my car, in about an hour. Towards the end of my wait a gentleman came out, apologized, said something about a problem with the computer and gave out bottled water. The people after me weren’t so lucky, there were well over 100 on line when I left, they were out in the parking lot as they couldn’t even fit in the office. I met a woman on the way back who had spent about 3 hours online that day. I took my car to out hotel and had no issues. The next morning however, it wouldn’t start. I was pretty dismayed to call the Roadside assistance number and be on hold over 30 minutes. After finally getting a person, I spent another 24 minutes on the phone explaining what happened. She sent a tow truck. When the tow truck arrived about an hour later, he jump-started the car. He didn’t check the battery (he told me he had no way to check it). He told me if I drove it a while, it would probably charge. I drove the car and later that afternoon needed another jump start from one of the people I was visiting but was able to get back to my hotel. In the morning, the car would not start again. I called the Roadside assistance number at 7 am and again, had to hold for over 30 minutes before I got a person. They sent another tow truck. He got there at about 11 am and told me he was supposed to pick the car up and drive over an hour to Grand Rapids, drop it off, get another car, drive it another hour back to me. The tow truck driver was terrific. He took the car and promised to do his best to bring another car back, leave the key at the front desk of my hotel and call me with complete information. Which he did at about 3pm in the afternoon. This was the second day I didn’t have my rental car to use! The car he left, performed as it should have and I had no further problems. I dropped the car off in the morning of July 29th at the airport in Detroit. I spoke to a nice lady at the desk, Patty. When I asked what they could do for me, she got her supervisor Samia. The two of them agreed I shouldn’t be charged ANYTHING for the rental as it was a disaster and would have ruined my short weekend vacation (if I let it). Although I don’t travel a lot, I do rent a car a few times a year. This was by far the worst rental car experience I’ve ever had. The lack of care shown by the Roadside Assistance people (they just didn’t care what happened to me, and it was very obvious). Having to hold 30 minutes or more each time I called? What kind of national company can’t afford to do better than that. I still have NOT seen the credit for this on my credit card statement. I certainly hope that what they told me when I dropped the car off is true, but it's hard to tell with a company that's so poorly run. I certainly will NEVER use Budget again.

I use to rent at budget at least 3 times a month until the other I got charge twice when i return the car. I pay 180 online and when I return the xar they charge my credit card $220, I ask why if I pay online and the guy said, I only pay a portion if I have a problem to solve it somewhere else. I told him that I pay online the full amount of my rental. And he said that there is nothing he can do and he wont fix it. I got home call budget and they took care of it but because of that incident I wont be renting at budget no more. I guess he was a new guy because I know almost everyone there.

Our plans changed so we asked if we could bump our return time back and the agent refused and said that was not possible. He said the reservation had already been "used" so we could not change it even though we were standing right at the counter and hadn't even picked up the car. He just told us to refer to the paperwork. Then he didn't give clear directions on where to go pick up the car, just mumbled to go around to the garage and we'll see it. We went to the garage and no one was there to assist us. We walked around the entire garage and finally found a person cleaning a car who told us to just go pick up the car yourself. We got the car and were driving out when finally a woman who seems like she should have been at the pick up window who was out around the corner smoking a cigarette said she needed to sign our papers before we could leave. Horrible experience.

When we arrived to pick up the car, Stephanie said they only had one sports car, a Charger R/T, but she would have to bill us an extra $20/day because it was the R/T. We said we didn’t want to pay any extra, so she “upgraded us” to a boring SUV for free instead of upgrading us to the Charger for free. Her attitude was rude and condescending through the whole exchange. Was really looking forward to a fun car for the weekend but Budget has zero dedication to customer service and is clearly only there to make money, not provide their customers with a good experience. Customer service does not exist at this establishment. We rented a 10' truck to pick up on a Saturday and confirmed ahead of time that it was there. On Friday, we received a call stating that we had not picked up the truck that day (we had a confirmed pick up in writing for the following day) and it had been rented to someone else. The rental had even been prepaid in full and the agent just flat out lied and gave our truck away. We will advertise this joke of an establishment to everyone we know. DO NOT EVER USE THEM. I am french but I wish to make my comments in english in order to have them widely exposed. November 2016 we get in touch with Cartrawler to reserve a vehicle for 16 Days in June 2017 to be picked up in Chicago and returned in New Orleans. We did it that early to enjoy better price. So far so good, contract confirmed by Cartrawler at a fixed price all insurances included and total amount to be debited from our account few days B/4 we pick up the car in Chicago. Contact stipulated that only 300.00 US$ additional would be charged by Budget for One Way Fee. We mentionned to the lady at Budget who handled our picking up of the car in Chicago that everything was paid and that we would have to pay only 300.00 when returning the car. She said they had not received any payment yet for the car. We assumed it was in the tube from Cartrawler. We assumed as well that the insurances/ services shown as accepted on that receipt were included in our arrangement with Cartrawler Returning the car: BIG SURPRISE we are charged an extra cost for these insurance /services and full gas tank(51.46$) when I returned the car with a full tank: Altogether 615.79 US additional cost. This rental cost me 1960.65 US$ instead of the original Cartrawler contract at 1344,86US$ We introduced a claim at Cartrawler with an answer that they are not in a position to give us a refund because we had accepted the optional products /services. This is a very easy way to make money and unfortunately this is not uncommon with the Car rental companies. Cartrawler take advantage as well as Budget of their customers especially if thay are tourists not aware of the possible dishonest and unfair practice in that kind of business. Therfore avoid at all cost to rent your vehicles anywher in the world with Cartrawler and if you can avoid Budget that will probably be wise as well

I made my reservation over two weeks ago. It took over 35 minutes at the counter. When I went out to the rental car lot, the vehicle I was assigned was not available. It took another 15 minutes to get that sorted. The car I got was just cleaned (thank you) but I left in a hurry. As I pulled out of the lot, I realized that the side view mirrors were in their closed position. Had to stop first chance I could to fix that. All told, not a good experience. Renting a car shouldn't be this hard. Especially when I've paid over $260 to have a car for less than 30 hours.....!!

Very rude, last year I rented a car to be with my dad during a hospital stay for his heart. He almost died. I spent 11 nights at his bedside. I called in and was told that my rental extended for daily rate plus 10 dollars 1 time. Imagine my surprise when upon return it didn’t happen, I was charged over 1000 on a 400 rental plus a locate fee of like 65 for sending a letter to my home address even. Though they knew the car sat parked in a va parking lot. Today the man says I can’t use my debit to rent even though it is policy you can and I did the last time. He said he doesn’t participate in that. I’m needing the car to go pick up the same dad to care for him with me in his final stages. Trying to get there ASAP and hope we didn’t lose too much time waiting to pick up the car. Never again will I step foot in any budget.

Easy and fast return. But if you think that you're going to go one day possibly two days extension on your rental, I would highly advise doing it at the counter prior to renting it. Because if you add an extension to, like mine and intermediate, it's about to up to $300 a day more dr. Just FYI

Then they told us that Credit card need to be on Drivers Name even when it was prepaid. Yes they have it in conditions but hidden between 5 sites of A4. Then Guy at desc told us that if we call on their help desc we will cancel it and not pay NO SHOW FEE 150 USD. When we called there they told us that they can do nothing and we need to pay NO SHOW FEE. So No CAR no Apologies and 150 USD FEE for nothing.

The price was great, I was able to rent a Standard Elite SUV prepaid for about the same as what some other places were charging for an standard sedan. When picking up, there was almost no wait (surprising considering it was right before Thanksgiving), and the woman who assisted me at the counter was very friendly. The Ford Flex we received was very clean and perfect for our needs. I was surprised to see how well it was optioned (even had distance-controlled cruise control), very pleasant to drive. Dropping off was fast and easy, and the shuttles to and from the airport required almost no waiting.

Budget started out by renting us a vehicle whose registration expired the next day and we were notified by a police officer that pulled up next to us. The car also had 3/4 of a tank when they gave it to us so we brought it back with around the same amount (7/8). They then proceeded to send us a bill charging us $130 for 12 gallons of fuel. I will not be using budget again as we feel that they scammed us.

The worst service ever, i have rented a car and noticed $75 posted on my card, later i called customer service and they said that is posted for not returning the car with full tank, i have just drove the car around 40 miles and i filled the gas before returning, i had a photo of odometer with milage and fuel before filling the gas, the customer service representative was so rude when i asked a question related to the milage on my e -receipt odometer IN is same as odometer Out. but on the e-receipt i see the total miles drove was 1462. please make sure odometer and gas also check for any damages when you pick up and return the car. Let’s get an honest review in here. A week before my reservation, I call Budget to see if they will rent to persons under 25 as I am 19 and if so if they would accept debit cards. The representative informed me that they do rent to persons under 25, and that they do accept debit cards so long as a round trip itinerary was supplied. — This was far from the truth. Budget will mislead you in order to get in more bookings. The customer service lady, Terry was rude, uncaring, and would rather leave a person stranded for 4 days 850 miles from home. Thank God capitalism saved the day. I went across the street to Enterprise where they accept debit cards to those under 25, and the total cost ended up being cheaper than Budget. Lets get to some numbers Customer Service 1/5, Product Offered 1/5. Simple as that, stay far away from this place. (I will thank the kind lady who shuttled me from the terminal, she was the only positive experience)

There were three other people waiting to return cars and no one knew what to do! My husband called customer service and we then had to make a new reservation and take a taxi to the airport. When an employee came out of the L street garage I asked him why he closed early and he claimed he didn't and called me a liar!! We never have this kind of service as fast break members at the airport. Such a disappointing experience and terrible way to treat customers who rent cars many times each month!

I went in a little skeptical because of the previous reviews, but the staff here is awesome! I received my car within 15 minutes. At other rental places, I've had to wait over 30 minutes. I was greeted with a smile by both women behind the counter. This was one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. The service was just the same when I returned the car! We waited 20 minutes for a shuttle to get to the facility, and nearly that long to get back to the airport after our trip The car we rented functioned well enough, but one of the employees apparently had been smoking weed in it. The car reeked of marijuana, and the driver's seat was laid back when we got in. I did call customer service, but they really only wanted me to return it. I was quite busy, and far from the airport, so I just left the windows down and let it air out for a few days. The Budget and Avis rentals are the same location, so it's probably a safe assumption that you get the same service at Avis too.

After waiting 45+ minutes (only one person was ahead of me) with my husband, two toddlers, and a whiny 9 year old, to pick up the van I rented. I had to set up the back seats of a filthy, dirty van (sand/dirt, M&M's and what appeared to be a nasty spill that looked like dried, crusty milk). Even if it's dark when you get a black vehicle, take pictures. The van shook at highway speeds (guessing it was in need of an alignment). I was kind enough to take the vehicle through a touchless car wash before returning it, only to my detriment. I received a letter a month later billing me for damages to the car while in my possession. I guess since it was clean, they were able to see a scratch that they missed caused by a staff member or previous renter. I will NEVER rent from Budget again.

Staff was friendly but the place itself is really confusing. While you can see the sign of the office from the outside it is really unclear where to go to drop the car off as there are no sign on the building. Once you get to the top floor of the parking structure be prepared to find no one who could actually take your mileage/gas readings and give you a receipt. Really confusing. I waited for 10 mins and then the office manager said I was dropping off my car late... We'll, obviously, if you don't have navigations signs and staff present... Thankfully, I wasn't charged. I'd recommend other Budget location over this one.

The customer service was great from the young lady that volunteered to drive me up to the preferred counter to the agent that had a line of 4 other customers. This agent took a 1/2 of a moment to graciously acknowledge me and let me know she would be with me shortly. I appreciate good customer service that can mean the difference between my repeat business or not. I will share this experience at the airport location with others. I hope you will consider adding a dedicated shuttle service from the 30 min parking area to the back counter for preferred customers- especially on days where the weather is extreme (hot, cold or raining). I wish the local Budget/Avis stores in the rural areas of IL (Fairview Heights) had the same level of customer care.

Got re-routed to another Budget location, same issues and then some more. STAY AWAY. To clarify, I've rented a similar car from another company 3 days before... and NONE of the trouble was there. Pros: got a car (with wheels and other parts. I guess.) Cons: - got into long arguments around insurance. Booked through a website and received a final price - but this place tried to hard-sell me a TPL or a higher insurance, ranging from 16 to 50 USD per day! Only after I threatened to walk away, they gave in and canceled the markups. Extra insurances are not visible anywhere, and are based on some dodgy "internal memos" - with totally intransparent calculations behind, and with hand-written prices like we're somewhere in a deep 3rd world country. - got a car without license plates, which led to several cases of me being pulled over by police, and undergoing a full document check... for nothing. - got a car with driving limitations to CA, NV, UT, AZ states only. Is the rest not in America? Or does this relate to a missing license plate? - got to sign ridiculous amounts of unique paperwork, e.g. confirming that I won't smoke in the car or leave it dirty, and that I don't have traffic tickets in other countries (!!!).


This was the best rental experience ever. We arrived late Saturday night on 7/28 to rent our car. The two female agents at the counter and the gentlemen who was working with them in the lot when we picked up the car (unfortunately can’t remember their names) were so polite, helpful and friendly. They gave us great insight on places to visit, restaurants to eat at, and helped us select the perfect car for our trip. This was our first time in St. Louis and their recommendations were awesome!! DON’T GO HERE!!! Customer service is HORRIBLE. My husband reserved what was supposed to be a 9 passenger vehicle about a month ago for our family vacation. He was told several times by the customer service rep that he would be getting a truck that would accommodate. Wednesday 8/26, when we went to pick up the truck, the cashier told us that the 7 passenger truck was the only thing they had available, We let him know that the vehicle was reserved for at least 9 passengers, the worker said that they did not have anything else available. The budget rep refused to try find a vehicle that would accommodate, He simply said he already knew everything was booked because of the Labor Day holiday coming up. We had no choice but to take the vehicle because we had already paid our money. Some of our other family members had to trail us to our destination in another car and they had paid their half to ride in the rental. I would strongly advise anyone that is wanting to rent a car to GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. DO NOT USE BUDGET. THE WORKERS ARE LAZY AND DO NOT CARE IF THE CUSTOMER IS 100% SATISFIED. ALL THEY ARE WORRIED ABOUT IS GETTING YOUR MONEY. Not only that but when we returned the vehicle, that was tooo small, the lady told us that our deposit would be back on our card in 48 hours, well today make 72 hours and the deposit is still not on the card. I called budget and the lady lied and said she never told me my deposit would be back on my card in 48 hrs, she said she told me 5-10 business days. LIES! LIES! LIES!! Long wait for shuttle to get from airport to rental place. Some people were waiting almost an hour. Then they were having trouble with the CB radio to the people in the lot. They took it apart and cleaned it. 25 people were standing waiting forever as three people were being served. Not sure if they were building the cars for these people but it was a mystery what could possibly be taking so long. Once a person would talk to me I got my car quickly and it was dirty but seemingly in good shape.

Overcharged - review your contract here! I had a very bad experience at this location after many pleasant Budget rentals which is unfortunate. I was asked at the time of rental if I wished to have insurance coverage which I declined. I was then asked if I would be interested in a free XM upgrade which I agreed to. After my rental was completed, I noticed a larger charge on my credit card and upon calling Budget customer care learned I had been been charged for the insurance, XM radio, and roadside assistance (which I was never even asked about). After calling budget's customer care they indicated I would have to resolve this with the local office. When I walked into the location I had barely uttered the words I would like to discuss a charge from a previous rental when someone just blurted "you have to call customer care" after which I politely informed him that I had already done that. I thought this would be a quick fix, but instead a supervisor came and spoke with me and indicated that I had initialed the contract for these services. Upon review he was correct and stated that "they (the agent) would have gone over the charges in detail with you." This implies someone would have shown me the areas I declined rather than just saying "sign where indicated." This never happened as I indicated at the time of rental that I declined the coverage and then was charged for something that was offered for free (xm radio) and something that was never even mention (the roadside assistance). Instead of deciding to provide thoughtful customer care to someone who rents from Budget he held a hard line and refused to refund the charges indicating that I should have paid closer attention to the contract. It blows my mind that as someone who runs a company of my own that you would not satisfy a customer (particularly a recurring customer who may rent from Budget for many years) over something small and instead choose to risk reputational damage and loss of a customer. We frequently take the high road and do small refunds to customers to ensure a positive experience. Had he been willing to refund the small amount I would have continued to rent from this location and just been more diligent in the future to ensure that whatever the agent said was indeed what was reflected in their small font and carbon copy forms. Poorly done all around and unfortunate that customer service doesn't see anything beyond what is immediately in front of their face instead of the lifetime value of a customer.

If you want to avoid getting charged extra for upgrades you do not want and to see an agent by the name of Darren completely micromanage his female colleagues, avoid this location at all costs. What an awful customer service experience. I left feeling so upset it literally took me a few minutes to catch my good mood again. I pre-paid a reservation on budget's site for a compact car and added a coupon code I found online. Didn't think much of it, until I arrived and I was asked for a membership card, and I had no idea what that meant so I let the very nice lady know I had found the code online. The 10% off was removed which is totally fair but when the agreement was drafted I also saw I had been upgraded and charged for a midsize car. Politely, I asked the agent why I was getting charged for an upgrade, and let her know I did not want an upgrade, I was going to stick with the compact. She said multiple flights had been delayed and they were now out of compact cars so it was this car or nothing. Perplexed, I asked her why I had to pay for the circumstances, and while she started to respond, an incredibly rude agent by the name of Darren stepped in and took over a perfectly normal conversation (this was the second time he attempted to micromanage our interaction). He interrupted both of us and went ahead to repeat the same thing, telling me I had to pay for the upgrade that I never asked for, and went along to tell me my bogus "coupon code" and people like me were defrauding the company left and right. Still, holding my cool, I focused on the issue at hand. Putting the coupon code aside, the premise was the up charge for a car I did not ask for, and the fact I literally had reserved a compact. This agent was rude, patronizing and displayed incredibly poor customer service, not only to me, but to his fellow colleague who was doing a great and perfectly good job. It was so upsetting to see the way he felt it was ok micromanaging her that I literally had to remind him she was perfectly capable of managing what appeared to be pretty standard interaction. How does a person like Darren get a customer service job? Sir, there are plenty of jobs that do not require you to be customer facing. Do us all a favor and do that instead. And thank you budget customer service phone line for apologizing and agreeing to refund me the fees I was incorrectly charged.

This was the most unorganized and horrible experience we've ever had. We arrived at the car rental facility at about midnight. There was one clerk and about 20 customers in line. The clerk was taking about 10 to 15 minutes per customer. After about 20 minutes a second clerk showed up just to have the first clerk announce that they were out of cars and she left from behind the counter.. Even though we, as well as the customers in front of us, had prebooked our car. We we're were informed that all they had left available we're 12 passenger vans. We could choose the van, find a motel for the night, or bring back the van in the morning with hopes of them having cars available. Several customers left very upset. We had a two hour drive from there so we opted to stay in line and get a van. Each customer was told that they would have to pay $100.00 extra and that there was nothing they could do because there wasn't a manager on duty. By the time we got to the front of the line 4 vans had been rented to the very unhappy customers. When we got to the counter for some miracleous reason we were offered a truck or a smaller van. The smaller van was again $100.00 more than our original rental. We opted for the truck instead of either van. I hope other Budget offices are more prepared than this one. If not, future possible customers, Budget may be cheaper but in the long run what a joke. Your time as a customer is worth more than the savings of a cheaper rental company. Don't get caught in the trap.

We called the office multiple times during our trip for various reasons and the woman we spoke to was always friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, after our trip we were charged almost three times the correct amount and did not receive an invoice or receipt. Budget reduced the charge to twice as much on their own but it took multiple phone calls (many of which went unanswered) to fix the problem. Vehicle: Good. The car we rented was in good condition and met our needs. Price: Good. The rental rates were comparable to other agencies. Just be careful what you are agreeing to in the contract.

The hoops these people make you jump through to rent a car are ridiculous. Fully insured drivers, with no record; Paying in advance. Rented a van from them before under the exact same circumstances maybe 5 months ago. Different location meant a completely different set of rules for some reason. Had to change vehicle size due to the different rules but they still charged for the large size vehicle. Wouldn't return the $70 difference until our contract was up and we returned the vehicle a week later. Will never use Budget again. I'm one of those forever scorned consumers.

The Budget office at the St. Louis airport is closed. You are required to take a shuttle bus to a remote location to pick up your vehicle. At the location they service both Avis and Budget. Upon arriving I found a long line to check in. Their were 3 attendants assisting people, but the check in process was very slow. They had people with reservations in the same line as people without reservations, which I didn't appreciate. The people without reservations took an extra long time to get checked in which held up the line tremendously. Once up to the counter my attendant was very nice and helpful. I had a reservation and the process was painless, but even so it took a while for everything to process and assign a vehicle. The vehicle I was assigned was clean, and performed with no problems. It was winter, and I appreciated that the vehicle had an ice scrapper in the back. When I returned the vehicle the process was very easy, and only took me a few minutes to complete. A shuttle bus was available, and within 10 minutes I was heading for the airport which only took about 10 minutes.

Today I had an sale associate try to up sell me on a bigger car for more money. I kindly said no thank you and she insisted that if I don't take her offer I would have to wait for a long period of time because supposedly it wasn't ready. I reply I will wait and the sale rep became agitated with me. No more then a minute later she said my car was ready. When I went outside to start the car I saw it was full of dog hair. I took pictures went back and told them that I was allergic to dogs. Another sale person gave me an older car with 18,000 miles on it that smell like dog. I want to Express that in the past month I have spent almost $1,000 in business car rental with Buget and I am extremely disatify with the fradulante behavior this site has been conducting pushy, bully business.

Much better than on previous occasions! I have previously had bad experiences at this location (but decided to risk renting from there again because it's convenient) - this time the experience was much better. The woman who handled my booking was friendly and efficient, the car was fine, and the car return process went well. My earlier problems had included surly staff and attempts to overcharge, including assuming -- without even asking, or checking -- that a car had been returned completely empty when in fact it was full. This location had also previously frequently had computer problems, meaning that picking up a car had been like watching paint dry, and getting a receipt was almost impossible. Both of these things went smoothly this time. I hope that my positive experience this time shows that Budget have taken earlier criticisms to heart, and made a real effort to improve. It does also seem there may have been some staff changes which may have helped (or maybe I just got lucky in the staff members on duty that day). I've given 4 stars rather than 5 only because I don't trust Budget's central systems to get the final billing right, but I'm hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised on that score too.

When I decided to go to PA from NH I thought I would fly. However, when I check the amount to fly I thought I should visit car rental places. I was getting discouraged at the prices until I clicked on Budget. They were by far the best bang for my buck. They people in the office couldn't have cared less. And I'm standing there again a victim of Budget. Twice in a year. Avoid Budget and especially the NOLA office. Reserved a car in June for a one way rental and was told no cars were available, which to me completely defeats the purpose of reserving one in the first place. I was told that the manager called everyone that had a reservation to let them know that they did not have any cars available. First visit to Las Vegas from Hawaii in April 2019. I read the blogs (due diligence on my part) which had some negativity that I questioned why I should go there but it was closest to our hotel (usually rent from the airport) so I gave it a try. I found the car agent(only one there) to be very personable despite 3 or more customers behind me. Everything was explained to me and all the fee's were clearly defined as I see some blogs complained about fee's (every state has them). The car was clean and ready to go with 6K miles on it. I would recommend renting from them again. No, I am not a robot.

We just picked up a rental car this morning from New Orleans Canal Street. The condition of the car is most appallingly filthy. It is smelly, filthy with dust and dirt all caked over everywhere. The seats are all stained and when I tried to use a wipe on the head rest, it came out black! We r currently in the car and it’s a most uncomfortable and unpleasant ride. We have the car for the next two days so we must ensure it. Never have we encountered a rental this deplorable condition. Extremely disappointed!!!

My wife rented a small truck for us to drive to Kansas from Saint Louis. We chose a Ford ranger, It was bigger than the Nissan frontier we could have got. We didn't realize how filthy it was when we picked it up. We drove it home to pack our things that night. When we started out the next morning, we couldn't believe or eyes. There were dog nose prints on all of the windows. There was such a film on the windshield that we had to stop at a restaurant, and borrow thier glass cleaner, and paper towels. The engine also acted as if it had been filled with gas that had water in it. We stopped at the location that we rented it from on the previous evening, to see if we could get a different truck. The person who waited on us was extremely rude. My wife called her out when she started rolling her eyes at us. Long story, short... we were upgraded to a Nissan titan at no extra charge. It took 45 minutes out of our 7 hour trip to do so though. We're not sure if we will ever use Budget car rental again. Oh yeah, the titan didn't have a full tank when we picked it up either. What really set me off was the stickers on the windows that state you may be charged $250.00 if we return the vehicle dirty. What a joke. It wasn't clean to begin with.

One star for the guy who got my car and one star for the fact that i even got a car. Wanted to give this place a chance. Now i see why the ratings are so bad. Checked in and waited abt 30 minutes before they said they didnt have my car available. My options were to either pay an additional $12 a day to get another car now or “slowly” wait until the type i requested became available. I was in a hurry and definitely did not have time to “slowly” wait for my car type to be available. Truthfully, I feel like the additional charge shouldve been waived. Once I accepted the car, it took another 15 minutes for them to get my car. Had to remind the front desk that I was still there waiting for them to bring it to the front. it seemed like only one guy was running back and forth to get cars. He was apologetic to me for the wait and obviously annoyed at the lack of assistance from his employers. Did a quick walkthrough of the car.... slightly dirty on the outside with a handful of random scratches (nothing big enough for them try and fix so i understand). The inside had a lingering smell of musty perfume, and there was a candy wrapper on the floor.

Please only consider using this location if it is your only possible option. Not the typical Avis experience I am used to. The car took a significant amount of time for them to bring down and the inside looked like someone had vomited at one point in the back seat. I had requested a 7AM pickup but didn't end up leaving until past 730 - when I returned it at 7:27AM the next day (less than 24 hours), they tried to charge me for an extra day. This, of course, wouldn't have been a problem if they had offered after hours return (which they don't).

The rental took only a few minutes and I was on my way to find my car. The cars are at the top of a parking deck, so allow a good 15 mins to drive out of the place on a busy Saturday afternoon. Also there is no one in the parking deck to help you find your car, so learn what it looks like first or you will have to walk past 50 cars looking at license plates.


Rented 2 different 4 door passenger vehicles from this store for a period of 6 months. I had a pleasant experience dealing with several employees including the manager. I recommend this location for passenger vehicle rental. Thank you for the service guys!

Budget is great but at the st Louis location the Fastbreak counter is away from the building where the shuttle drops you off.. it was a bit of a walk with all of our luggage.. the shuttle should at least drop off in front of fast break counter..

Worst experience for my car rental so far. The staff (Hamid) was very unfriendly and rude. Didn't provide accurate information at the time of rental and then made up information when I returned my car. I was told that the agent (Caitlynn) who gave me incorrect information at the time of rental will contact me to settle the bill, but, no one contacted and my card was billed a few days later. I called this rental location except to put on hold for 15 minutes before they disconnected me. I have asked my company to take them off the list of car rental for their employees.

Had to rent a car late when flight to Chicago cancelled. Three people working each with one customer. Took 20 min for one to open up. One lady seemed like she was just talking to the customer about something other than he rental. When we got to another woman she was chewing gum and making snap noises every few seconds. Very unprofessional. The car we reserved online before heading there was not available. The car we did get had a cracked windshield we didn’t notice right away.

it would be nice if Budget would put the car handbook inside the glove compartment just in case you had a question about the car. I had a green light come on in the lower right corner of my dash. Not sure what it signified and whether or not I should be worried about it. I had NO idea what it meant. Called a Kia dealer to see if they could help me out. Could only leave voice mails with no return phone calls. Finally pulled off of interstate and stopped at a garage. 3rd fellow that I asked had an idea. Turns out I inadvertantly turned on the "lock all wheels" button. He told me to check for buttons along the console. Did that and finally fould the button that I accidentally activated. Had I only had a handbook I would have been able to figure out on my own and would not have had to depend upon the kindness of a stranger to help me out. If I could give my last experience on April 10th — 10 stars I would. Airport shuttle was timely Helpful driver. Jeanette checked me in promptly and walked with me to be sure the car was to my satisfaction. It was perfect. Ease in returning was a one minute process. I would definitely recommend and use budget again. Now this is after my Nov 2018 rental that was a complete disaster. I was giving budget one more time to make good on the prior horrible experience. Took over 45 mins to get budget shuttle. Selecting car —2 cars were smoke filled. 3rd car had broken window. Walking in the freezing snow each time - process took over an hour in budget to delay my arrival to Quincy. So glad I gave them another chance!!!

Fraudulent. Receptionist told us the car must be returned with full tank or be charged a ridiculously high rate for gas. When I stated that is impossible to return it full, he told me "anywhere between 3/4 and full is considered full." Apparently he flat out LIED because I have been charged $19.19 on my card. I also was never given notification of this charge by Budget, they simply charged my card and did not give an explanation. What a fraudulent, shady organization. Avoid at all costs.

Not my best rental car experience although i do have to say that most of my experiences were directly at airports. My pick-up time was 1pm and i showed up at 12:30. I didnt think it'd be a problem as most times i show up early and a car is available. No such luck here. There were people waiting in the lobby and when i was called up i was notified that my car wasnt ready. Seemed like no cars were ready. The ladies behind the counter kept on mentioning that they were waiting for cars to come back. Finally got a car around 1:15pm. When i got it, it wasnt even washed. They could do better.

I had the worst experience from this budget rental location. I rented a car for two months, had to get the car jumped started thrice . Had a flat tire for which they charged 130 bucks. 130 bucks for a flat tire!!! If this wasn't enough, while returning they refused to accept the car back in the same budget location where we reported the flat tire. Both the locations refused to coordinate with each other, in the end I had to call both the offices explaining so that they would accept the car return and close my rental agreement.

This car rental company is the absolute worst! My sister and her 4 kids recently rented from them traveling from Missouri to Idaho and their car died and it took them 8 HOURS for them to get someone to them! Meanwhile they were stranded on the side of the highway with 4 kids from 8 years old down to my 9 month old nephew! And it took them freaking 8 hrs to finally do something! And they didn’t even try to make it right! I am so disgusted and will NEVER rent from them! My husband and I travel a TON and so do my in laws and we will refuse to ever rent a car from them! Check-in was inefficient. It took 30+ minutes. They gave me a intermediate when I reserved a full size. No apology or recognition. Car was dirty inside and had manual locks. Overall a very bad experience. Staffing was not close to sufficient.

Two reasons for 4 stars instead of 5. First, I landed at 130am and got to the rental shop shortly after. I was the ONLY customer there and was greeted by an employee who was staring at his computer screen and stated, "I'll help you down at the end in just a moment". I got to the end and was able to see him staring at his cell phone for 7 minutes prior to helping me. This was infuriating. The checkout process and drop-off were simple. When I got in my car, however, there were some rather disgusting areas. Also, not so fun to see.

Show up to a rude man at the counter. He proceeds to tell me if I don’t fill it completely up, they are going to charge me almost $10 a gallon. He says it’s the industry norm. Yes they charge you, just not that crazy of a price and Not any place I’ve ever rented. Walk down the city block and up the HUGE ramp into the parking garage. Come out of the elevator and wander around because we have no clue where to go. We search for our car and about that time, a lady climbs out of a vehicle. I tell her the guy downstairs is a ass and she says she knows he is. She tells us which car is ours and says, “Have a good day!” I ask her if she’s going to do a walk around for damage with me? She said they check for damage before the vehicle is rented? I ask her to walk around it with me as I do not want to pay for anything that was already there. She informs me, “They are only worried about the big stuff.” I asked why the car is filthy dirty- She tells me that they have no way to wash it since the garage they are in has “elevators”? That makes no sense. She says I can was it myself and bring the receipt back to get reimbursed. The car has mud smeared on the door and has a good layer of grime all over it. I pull out of the garage and proceed to drive to my destination in NH. I pull into a grocery store. While I’m in the car, I notice the “maintenance required” light is on. My daughter informs me that it was in when we got in. The back seat has dog hair, the dash looks as if it has been wiped with a dirty rag. The windshield and regular windows all have finger prints and smudges on them. I would not recommend this place. The car is dirty, the place is poorly organized and the employees are rude and ignorant.

Went to pick up the rental and it had not been cleaned, there was still someone's left over McDonald's in it. I had an awful rental experience with this location. I made a reservation to pick up my car in one city and drop it off here. Upon returning the car an employee told me he would take the keys and that I should drop my rapid-return form in the box so I don't miss the shuttle. Apparently no record of my return was made and I was charged an additional 5 days after the return. After resolving this, I am now being charged for an empty tank of gas that I returned full. I will avoid using Budget Car Rental in the future. Such a headache and not worth the many necessary calls to customer service.

Do you love to wait around, with no information, for 30 minutes, while you wait for them to "pull your car around"? Then this is the PLACE for you! I think they left out the word "world", because it definitely felt like they were pulling the car around the world before it finally got to us. When I told the clerk, "We are here for a funeral and are anxious to get to our family, how much longer do you think this will take?" She responded with a curt, "I have no idea what is going on out there. I think those compact cars are in a different lot or something. This is why I tried to get you to upgrade to a full size." Not an, "I'm sorry, it doesn't usually take this long." Not an, "You know what, let me upgrade you for free instead of the extra $20 ($10/day for a two day rental). Nothing. 6 other customers came and went and we were still there, waiting, waiting, waiting. Oh let's not forget the crying baby who just needed to go for a drive to fall asleep. Terrible, terrible service. But when they did bring the car around, it smelled like cigarette smoke covered up by some sort of spray. So yay for that! With all the choices close to the St. Louis airport, don't use Budget. I mean, unless you love waiting in a rental car place listening to the employees complain about lots of awesome stuff.

At least we got a car. hence, the 1 star. Find another place to rent a vehicle. We had a valid reservation for a one-day rental for $61.72, confirmed by this very agency two days before pick-up. Upon arrival we were told this was not a valid reservation and we would need to re-book. The best rate we were given was $154.95! We did not notice until later that this price included the full insurance package, which we were never given the opportunity to decline. Our mistake, but we were getting pressed for time. We were definitely scammed! Have written to Avis/budget corporate headquarters. Got nothing more than a corporate response. Check out their reviews on YELP! and then find another place to get a car! They should close this location down as it does a disservice to the car companies!

Budget shuttle never showed up at north terminal in Detroit to pick us up. We hitched a ride with Avis to budget and the receptionist could not help us with that matter. The receptionist did not go over pricing in detail so we ended up paying more than expected. When we turned the car in we asked the manager about it who said she would follow up with what happened with receptionist and contact us. We are still waiting for an email.

While yes there are times this place can have long lines and everyone is frustrated, I am giving it 5 stars because I rent here all the time and 95% of the time the cars are inexpensive and in great shape and I am in and out with minimal hassle. Really for convenience and cost it can’t be beat most of the time. And they are open until 7 on Sunday nights so you can rent a car for the weekend but don’t have to pay thru Monday.

The 'facility' is basically a booth in part of the lobby - only room for one staffer. Seemed to take a long time to process the reservations that were not prepaid. Once checked in it was quick and easy to get the car, and much cheaper than getting one from the airport. No problem to pick it up here and return at the airport once the trip is over.

I am a local and needed to rent a car so I choose budget and this one was the closest one to my house. We put it under my boyfriend's name as the driver and I was paying for it. Because we did that the gut at the counter was so rude and just really unhelpful. He did not want to go out of his way to help us. So since my boyfriend was the driver but not paying for it he needed to provide 2 utility bills in his name but all the utilities are under my name. So I was like what can I do and he just did not want to help at all. So I called customer service and luckily they refunded the whole payment because I prepaid. Then we made another reservation under my name. If you rent a car there be prepared to not get above and beyond service ..

Very decent all things considered. Rented here bc it is next to the ferry. Cars are on the seventh floor of the parking garage and location is on the street level. Staff was very professional. No bathroom in the entire building (including the dunkin donuts next door) so dont show up expecting to use the bathroom before you get the car. Closes early on weekends.

The name will show both Avis and Budget at this location. The location seems near a sketchy area. Be prepared to wait as service is slow, but the staff was nice and we got the vehicle we wanted. Lobby isn't polished, but to be able to rent a vehicle within walking distance of our hotel so this place gets 5 stars.

we were literally held captive by this place. Our plane arrived at DTW at 10:05. We picked up our luggage & went to the rental office. There were many people ahead of us in line (at least 12) & only 2 people manning the stations. While we were waiting their computers went down. No announcement was made. We only knew this because we were near enough to hear them talking. One orginal person left & another took her place. Contracts were now being filled out by hand still with only 2 people at the desk. After an hour we were assigned a car which started & which meant the fob had to be in the car but we could not locate it.We waited in line at the exit to try to get help in locateing it. the person asked if we were sitting on it,told us not to turn off the car &to go back to the gas station for help. There it was located in part of the console that was closed & not immediately noticable. We then went back to the exit again where a long line was waiting at the one functioning exit lane. After at least 15 minutes of no movement, someone came from the main office to the other booth. She said the person working our lane was filling out a contract by hand. We were finally released after about 2 hours, making us 45 minutes late for an appointment we had scheduled for 3 hours after the plane arrived. Customer Service is extremel;y poor. Management has to have some idea of how many cars are reserved for certain times & ought to plan to staff their stations accordingly. The $50 we saved was not worth the stress we experienced. We will certainly avoid budget in the future if at all possible.

I wish I could rate 0. As we were on the flight home from St Thomas.... I rented a car online for us to drive home from the airport. I made a mistake about the city name where I was returning car. When we picked up the car I told them. They put me on the phone with someone who told me to go ahead and take the car (it was after midnight) and straighten it out at the place I return to. .. that it was not a problem. The original rental was less than $100 for less than 24 hours of use. But what I found out was.... Yes it was fine to take it in to the office near my home — but what they HAD NOT told me was there was going to be a charge of over $500. My husband was very sick so he didn’t try to argue with them. I called and spoke to a very rude employee..i tried to explain that if they had told me what the charge was going to be I would have canceled it — could have stayed in a nice motel for that price and got somebody to pick us up the next morning. We had the Taurus for about 12 hours.... and returned it about 200 miles from the pick up point. Over $500!! Don’t expect this company to be reasonable ... or to do the right thing. I see now why the google rating is so low.

All car rentals are expensive in Mich. & I don’t understand why! Re: Budget - I like Budget & the people are friendly. Have rented from them a few times & received nice cars. This last one over Halloween holiday had a noticeable dent on the back drivers side (I noted). Then all 4 tires needed to have air put in them. I would have gotten another car because this car also had almost 30,000 miles. But was running late so kept it. I had to fill the tires twice myself the 6 days I had car. I told Agent when I returned car. Wasn’t offered a discount or nothing for my inconvenience. I was disappointed with this experience, but will rent from them again.

You rent cars here! The process is simple, but the wait can be l-o-n-g...even with a reservation. We were in line for 45 minutes and then checked out in 10 minutes. They have a new service called 'curb side valet'. It's $25 and simply put, you drive up on your return, someone then drives you back to the airport to depart. A pleasure for us and our 90+ year old as we didn't need to wait and shuttle with our bags on the bus.

From the beginning to end, I had a horrible experience with this company. It was mostly due to the very rude sales associates and customer service. I made a reservation online and the representative refused to honor the discount that I used, and said I need to prove that I am in fact a member, even though I had all of my membership information with me and already used it to rent the car online. The sales associate was extremely condescending and unwilling to help. I called Budget, who told me to ask the sales associate to call customer service to verify my rental and information but he also refused that. I called my association, who called Budget, and verified that I am an active member, and thought this mess will be resolved...I was put on hold for 15 minutes and another representative picked up, and asked "how can I help you?" I was essentially back to square one, so I brought her up to speed, and she said she can't force the sales associate to do anything. Knowing this wasn't going anywhere I asked for a refund, and she said she will refund all of the costs, and not charge me the usual $50 cancellation fee. When I checked my credit card statement a few days later, there was indeed a refund, but with $50 deducted. Now I have to deal with this error. This has been by far the worst experience I've had dealing with any company.

Renter beware. I had a great check in with Corrie. I wish I had a great check out with her but my flight was at 6am and she wasn't there. I dropped the car off at the lot. I didn't feel comfortable not checking out with a rep especially when I was told it's open 24hours. It took me calling Budget numberous times to issue my e-receipt. I was annoyed and upset when the agent via phone asked me if I "still have the car?" He closed my rental contract via phone but had the audacity to charge me for fuel, when I filled the car up to the maximum at a gas station that was closest to the airport. Oh wait? Why was I charged for fuel when your system showed that I still had the car? And they didn't honor my $10.00 coupon. Yes, I'm disputing this with them because it's a principle. I honored my contract--so should they. Depending on the outcome--I'm not sure If I'll rent from here again. It's not a good feeling doing business with a company that has 'authority' to charge your credit card any amount. Lastly, I recommend each renter to take picture of the odometer, gas levels and condition of the car as proof. Also, keep gas receipts especially if you pay cash for gas . But thanks to Corrie. You were super sweet. -- UPDATE: things are worse. Now I have been double billed. Calling Customer Service enraged me because they were so useless and gave me the run around. It's sad that I have to get Master Card involved in this.

I like budget. As a fast break member I can check in & out quickly, most of time w/o having to visit inside counter. I wish they would answer phone calls at this location rather than route call to U. S. Call Center. I also wish they offered more variety of car brands in all the basic rental categories and/or allow customers to pick preferred brand based on models available in the fleet. Good service so far but this year I'll likely check out some of the other rental companies for car variety, great deals and customer service.

If everyone in line had a reservation, you would think there would be enough agents to handle it. Well, I rent cars very often, but not Budget in the future.

Staff was wonderful! On point great job! Vehicle was not up to par for a 2019 corrola (i.e.) power port did not work ,had a usb plug in but always said charging slowly. So very inconvenient for charging my tech on the road. Then there's the matter of vehicle headlights aimed too high idk how many times I received blinding high beams in my eyes unnecessarily after dark due to the low beams in the corrola improperly adjusted. Unacceptable and super unsafe especially with my kids on board. Finally less of an issue but for some reason the engine would tach up to 4500/5000 rpm and race for unexplained reasons? Car wouldn't increase speed just wind up then settle down after 5-10 sec !!! Wanted to report to administrator at desk and see if possible I could swap out vehicle with comparable but really didn't have time.

Unfortunately, the most recent experience had only a group of dirty vehicles to choose from upon pick up with several smelling heavily of cigarette smoke. I have had several negative experiences with budget and gave them another chance because I needed a 7 passenger vehicle and they were the only company with one for the dates I needed. Big mistake. I was basically charged 2X the amount my reservation quoted me. $350 for a day and 1/2 rental!?! I won’t bore you with the details, but customer service here was also pretty horrendous. NEVER using budget again. I will be a loyal enterprise customer from here on out- they have never tried to add hidden fees or additional costs.

I have been a fast break member for several years and this was by far the worst experience. After finding my vehicle section on a piece of paper taped where the screens should be working i packed my family of 5 including 7month infant and luggage car seats bags and thing into this car I got to the gate to be told I couldn’t leave in that vehicle and was said it’s a penalty car. Not sure what that means but I’m not sure why it would be out and available to drive. So I turned around and unpacked all things mentioned in paragraph above and placed it all in a second vehicle and got to the gate to find out this one had an expired temporary plate. It had been expired for over 5 weeks. So I was told you. Can go to another or go inside. By this time I was extremely frustrated and tired since I just had flown several hours with my family made a reservation to make this process an ease of driving away. The upside is the gentleman inside was helpful in rectifing the situation. But I don’t understand how you place so many vehicles that are unusable out to be selected by customers and make them do all the work of finding a vehicle of your establishment that is at the very least usable. I felt as if I was at a lemon lot. Very disappointed

This is the 2nd time we rented from budget and both were associated with unacceptably long waiting times. At this location, we waited for over 45 minutes. One clerk forgot about his customer and kept him waiting for about 10 minutes after he got distracted by another task. Guy at the desk says "24'? we don't have any of those". So now I am supposed to close on my house tomorrow and I have no moving truck. He told me he cannot help me I need to call customer service. 4 Hours later now.. no resolution. I have been bounced around from sales rep to sales rep. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. I'm now stuck with no way to move when I need to close on the sale of my home tomorrow. Rah in inventory (who has no association with this location itself) was very pleasant though, and is trying to find a resolution.

When we came to pick up our vehicle, everything was going well until someone else gave our vehicle to another customer who didn't even have it on his contract and let him drive it off the lot with it. Keri was very pleasant, energetic and determined to get us in another vehicle that we would be satisfied with especially since we reserved the Premium SUV. She was able to call in some "favors" and we left the lot in a Yukon XL. It rode smooth and we didn't have any issues. Renter beware! I rent cars on a weekly basis. I rented a car on the budget site and and then went to pick it up. The clerk behind the counter told me the car that they had for me printed out the printed. When I saw the receipt there was an upgrade charge that equal the amount I paid for the vehicle. I question the clerk about this and he said that would disappear when I turned in the vehicle. when I turned on the vehicle not only did it not disappear but they also charge me an additional$27 for gas even though I signed saying I would fill up the tank and did fill up the tank. When I went back in to discuss this with the clerk the gas was removed and a discount was applied but I was still charged an additional$29. Beware beware beware if they try to put you in there any other vehicle then then what you prepaid for... It will cost you big time! Never did they ask if I was willing to pay and additional $$ to upgrade nor did I know they upgraded me. Many times I am offered a bigger car then what was ordered for free and if they were selling me an upgrade they (other rental companies) would state for and additional $$. This is not the case with Budget.... Very disingenuous if not totally dishonest.

I should have considered Erin's review of this place (budget/enterprise) saying "terrible customer service". On 4th August I experienced that bad customer service with an attitude; my so-called "reserved" car was delayed 2 hours and on top of that I received rude customer service with an attitude. I called the manager to complain and he promised to "do something about it" which is highly unlikely, as his employee was standing next to us while complaining and then manager walked out... I called Budget hotline who said they could do nothing about it and could only offer me a 10 dollar coupon. What a laugh; I am never renting from those guy again, and in encourage all to find alternatives rentals.

Prices are reasonable and car selection is fine. Be warned if you need to access customer service for any reason: it is horrendous. This location has no ability to directly accept calls for any reason, you will be transferred to the national number after going through several automated prompts which are only relevant to rental locations who have the upgraded phone system. Representatives at the national location are not knowledgeable and if they request to call you back, you will never receive the call. Not an ideal location to rent from even if you are ok with the company at other locations. My experience at this location has frankly turned me off coming back at any other location.

I used to be a very regular customer here and rented from them regularly for both myself and my business. Suddenly, one day they declined me for a rental, saying that I did not pass a credit check (despite the fact that I have great credit). Without asking, they called some small, unknown rental agency to come pick us up that charged a $300 deposit and a per mile rate. They still have not returned the deposit.

This specific rental experience was horrid. On top of having issues with actually reserving the car I received the vehicle with an empty tank and was given the run around on how to resolve that since my rental agreement says it was received on full. I finally got in touch with a representative that sent me a link in order to send the picture of the gas level with mileage and was told to keep my receipt from paying for the gas an to bring the vehicle back with the same empty tank. When I returned my vehicle not only was I charged for the gas I was told I would not have to pay for. The receipt was taken from me, the rental agreement was edited and it did not reflect the rental being returned on time. I was OVERCHARGED! Not one of the employees offered a resolution that suited the situation.

This car rental experience was one of the better we have had and we do rent cars all over the country for business and pleasure. We will rent from this location in the future and we do highly recommend this location; however make a list of free parking available on the strip before renting parking on the strip is stupid expensive and because of that there were several casinos we did not visit this time, so I do suggest you make a list of free strip parking if your going down there.

Terrible. Ordered and prepaid for a Ford mustang with manual transmission. Via the "chat" Budget have on their website, Budget staff confirmed it would indeed be a Ford mustang with manual transmission. Picking up the car in the evening, it's an automatic and not manual transmission. Budget staff says they don't have any manual transmission mustang at this location and says I can complain to the phone number on the receipt. They're closed, so I have to call the next day. Staff on the phone does not even believe me when I say the confirmation email from Budget specifies "manual transmission", and insists I send them a screenshot of their own email confirmation, which I do. In the end my complaint is just disregarded with some nonsense about how they cannot guarantee any specific form of gearbox transmission, regardless of what their confirmation email says. Guess it means if you order an automatic, you cannot even be sure you'll get that? Good luck and hope you know how to drive a manual then. Obviously I should also ignore any confirmation given by Budget staff regarding my car reservation prior to ordering. With Budget it's only when you pick up the car you will know if you got what you paid for. Will see if I can be bothered to register a formal consumer complaint with the Michigan government office as I'm pretty miffed about the total disregard shown by Budget for what I ordered and what they confirmed. Budget - never again.

I felt compelled to write this review in hopes that it will give you specific examples of major issues within your detroit airport location that are causing you the loss of many clients. We simply wanted to quickly pick up our vehicle and be on our way. Unfortunately we waited 45 minutes with 2 employees at the desk clearly distressed and unable to process guests efficiently. Having already booked the rental online our expectation was to walk in, sign, pay and take off as we have done countless times before. The wait was not due to the amount of guests waiting, but seemed to be due to the inefficient processes at the desks. My only purpose with this comment is to offer the idea that no one looks forward to renting a car. It is a means to an end. Efficiency and proactivity in my mind are what would set you apart as a business and make the client experience better.

I wish I'd read the other reviews before I chose to rent here. Instead, I chose this location because it was the cheapest place for me to get the vehicle I needed. Budget earns two stars rather than one because I did get the vehicle I reserved and the rate was reasonable. Otherwise, though, this was the worst rental experience of my life. The staff was rude and unaccommodating and treated me like an idiot. In addition, when I called to ask about extending my reservation, I was at first told that any additional days would be charged the same rate, then the woman corrected herself and informed me that the extra day would be almost double the daily rate I had been paying for the original schedule. I had no choice but to return the vehicle at the original time at great inconvenience to me, and the staff was just as unfriendly and uncaring as they had been at the time of pickup. I'll stick with Enterprise or Hertz in the future.

We just picked up our car @ 10. The gave us the car on empty. We drove from dc to Alexandria only a 18 minute drive when the fuel light came one. I’ve tried calling 8 times from 10am-12pm today. They do not answer the phone if you have a problem (at least today). We have documented the low fuel with a time stamped photo and are hoping they charge the person who left it on empty for the gas and not us. We would like to speak with someone about it, but it doesn’t seem to be an option. This is a less busy time according to google and the phone remains unanswered.

Derrick the runner was nice and working hard, seems as if he’s always working hard, give that guy a break. The car was nice and clean. The Equifax check if you’re using a debit card is a bit much though. That’s an unnecessary inquiry on your credit report.

I have been a budget customer for years. But this particular location on Friday 23rd at late night was simply ridiculous. The older lady behind the counter was absolutely rude towards me and another lady after me as well. I need to stand out the managers job for being great and resolving a simple issue in a matter of seconds, and next time I’m in St Louis I am definitely bringing my business somewhere else.

The car we got had some problems so we were late to the airport to return it. We tried to call the 1-800 number to explain the situation and avoid any fees....that didn't work. We drove a vehicle with non-functioning windshield wipers through a snowy day a few hundred miles. When we arrived the employee was very apologetic and made sure we didn't pay anything extra. I just wish we could have reached a person over the phone who would have allowed us to swap vehicles. Did anyone actually read this? "Like" if you did??

Service was fast as was shuttle to/from airport. We didn't like the car at all. When we rented the car the website stated Ford Escape or similar. We got the Jeep Compass which I guess is the "similar". The car was uncomfortable, the brakes super touchy, hard to adjust side mirrors. The console didn't hold our cell phones very well.

It is not clear from the website that they do not allow after-hours returns: you have to drive to the airport if you return it outside their short business hours. We reserved a child seat, but they did not have one... So we could not have a car at the end and they ruined our last vacation day in New Orleans.

Fast, easy, courteous at pick up and drop off. I got the car I reserved, my AARP discount was honored, and the shuttle to and from the airport was quick and easy (the driver friendly and courteous). And there was no bogus attempt to up-sell to a more expensive rental, like I've experience with other car rental companies. If I have any complaint, it's that the directional signs in the lot for car returns should be larger or somehow more clear. I'll go with this Budget location every time.

I needed a quick 2 day rental and this worked out great for me. Initially my car was not ready at the pickup time, however Raven assured me I would have a clean car ready within the hour and they would call me if I wanted to wander around. 30 mins later, call received and a new clean Ford Escape was ready and waiting, upgraded from my economy rental. Upon return, the process was simple and easy and Kayla made sure to remove a gas surcharge that Budget automatically adds because I drove too few miles (yes you read correctly) without any prompting from me. Easy pickup location, good car, price and service. Thank you.

Run As Far and As FAST as possible from Budget Rental Car- Waltham, MA. This rental site has a history of failing to provide the car you reserved without any notice. Furthermore, the staff is surly, rude, disrepectful and completely unconcerened about the crisis they have thrust you into by failing to provide the contracted vehicle. Renting a car is an action that people do because they NEED a certain vehicle for a reason- failing to provide the agreed upon vehicle nor offering to work with another car rental agency to locate an appropriate vehicle is thoroughly unacceptable. We were offered a smaller vehicle- and I would go so far as to allege that this agency was engaging in the illegal action of bait and switch- we were not offered smaller vehicle at a cheaper price. We reserved a minivan four months in advance for our driving summer vacation. We arrived to pick up the car, only to met by the most surly clerk who informed us that she just called our house to tell us they didn't have a minivan available. When we asked to speak to the manager, she told us to call him ourselves- we insisted that she get the manager on the phone- only to be told that we did not have a contract with Budget Rental Car- since the rental agreement was not paid in advance (never mind that prepayment was not an option on Priceline). So- here we are- a family of 5 driving across the south for 3 weeks with scuba and hiking gear and absolutely no way to get on our vacation. Budget Rental Car forced us into extremely difficult circumstances- this business has proven itself unable to honor its commitments. So- be warned and take your business to a reputable car rental agency that will stand by their contract obligations.

They only had one employee working, who kept disappearing into the back to handle issues... then after having a reservation we are told they only have 12 person vans for the 15 people in line. Didn’t matter what you reserved. We have been waiting for over an hour and the employee isn’t the friendliest. They should probably hire a 2nd night shift person considering it’s a Wednesday and at this rate I will probably need to spending the night here. Never again. By far worst rental car experience.

This company is impossible to reach for customer service. My truck rental cost more than twice as much as I was expecting and no one will discuss the charge with me. I've called several times during regular business hours and no one has answered, or I've been put on hold and never picked back up - when they have answered, once they realize I'm calling regarding an over-charge, they say the person I need to speak with is not available and refuse to offer any helpful information. Twice now, I've been told she'll be in "tomorrow", but when I call back tomorrow, she is still not available. Most recently, I was told to call the 1-800 number and when I did that, they tried to reach the location for more information and again no one picked up. I will never rent with Budget again.

I rented a car in the office in New Orleans. We had to wait more than 1 hour (with the office closing in less than 15 min), the car we requested was not available (Impala or similar), we were offered a smaller car (Camaro) and it was either take it or nothing. The car had electrical issues 2 hours from the rental - we had to reroute to an office 2 hours from our destination to change the car. I contacted customer support and the only solution they gave us is a 30$ refund. We had to reschedule hotels for this issue, which defenitely does not compensate for the whole ordeal. Very disapointed with the solution.

The reason we are giving 1 star is for a very small part of our experience at Budget!! We rented a car for 1 day only as we needed to go into St Louis to sign papers for our father's estate. Our check in went well The lady that helped us was very friendly and we were in a car and on our way very quickly even though there was a line. This wasn't the same as we returned the car 11 hours later!! We parked the car where it said return cars here, cleaned the car out and went into the office, we saw no one outside!!! When we got to the counter TINA immediately became rude and informed us we needed to go back to the car and wait for someone to give us a receipt... my husband explained there was no one out there, without saying anything like i'm sorry. . She picked up her phone and said very loudly " there are people in the return line out there, right" someone said yes and she again very rudely and loudly told my husband to go back to the car and wait. 15 min later, In the cold, we got our receipt and when I gave it to her, still no apology!! We own 2 small businesses and we pride ourselves in taking very good care of our customers as we are sure Budget does, Tina made our experience with Budget a very negative one after a very stressful day and we also know that if people don't speak up this will continue!!!

My husband and I just got back home from our trip to Las Vegas this week! We work for the airlines so we didn't want to reserve a car at the airport because we simply don't know when we'll be arriving or on what flight routing. So we decided to pick it up a day into our vacation knowing that we'd be there by then. We stayed at the Plaza so this was so convenient to pick it up at the Golden Nugget just across the street! So we had a few hiccups ... the system was down the day we picked up the car, so everything had to be processed by hand. It took almost 2 hours to get the car between waiting in line, filling paperwork, and receiving the keys. Luckily someone showed up to get the ball rolling on the paperwork. He was very friendly and apologetic. It seems as though it was a problem all week long and I don't know if this is common. Several folks said they waited hours the day before as well. Due to the wait, we were upgraded to a full-size Ford Fusion at no charge. The car was well maintained and drove very well ... gas mileage wasn't great though. I enjoyed the ride and our phones provided GPS to get us around. We went to Lake Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon, the strip, and to a few museums too. Then we had a big problem. As I stated, we work for the airline so we don't know when we will be flying. We had planned to go home Saturday afternoon, so we would drop off the car and take the shuttle back to the airport. Then all the afternoon flights filled up and we needed to take the 7:45am flight out ... but the office at the Golden Nugget doesn't open till 7:30am. (Closes at 6pm). So I called the day before and the lady was super nice. She said that the fee was $25 to drop the car off at the airport ... I was more than willing to pay, but she realized I was one of the many inconvenienced by the long waits that week and she waived the fee! When I dropped it off at the airport, drop off was painless! He walked around the car, took the keys, and gave me a receipt ($4 cheaper than I reserved it online!) Hey, you can't always fix the long waits when things go wrong, but they took a bad experience and made it into a great one! It was so worth the wait for the nice car, and flexibility on drop off.

I was amazed by the efficiency of the experience. I am a member and I had booked online. I was picked up at the airport and went straight to my car to pick it up at a Kiosk, no other paperwork or processing and I was able to check out of the parking lot fairly easy too. It was very efficient. The car was clean and nice too. The drop-off was very fast too. I pulled in as guided, the attendant put in all the information and i was all set. However, I didn't get a hard copy receipt and promised an email receipt and it hasn't showed up yet. I was able to log on and pull up my receipt, so it's not worth dinging them over.

Very bad experience. First, he didn't have the car we wanted, so we had to pay extra to get a car. Then he told Nevada has some extra rules and told us we can't use the collision insurance from neither our credit card nor from insurance and then used some bulls**t Nevada rules to charge us extra for collision insurance. Booked the same from Hertz the next day and didn't have to pay the insurance.

Pros: The process from reserving our rental car online a few nights before we were to pick up our car to picking up our car and dropping off our car was extremely smooth. Everyone we spoke with and encountered at Budget was extremely helpful and nice. Josephine at the Budget office off Canal Street in New Orleans (in the French Quarter) was very sweet and got us in and out very quickly. The individual that came out to inspect our car with us was very nice and thorough. When we dropped off our rental at the MSY airport I noticed they charged us for fuel on our receipt, even though we had just stopped to fill up the tank before we returned to the airport. The ladies working quickly took care of this charge and refunded our money and apologized. We will definitely use Budget again when vacationing to New Orleans. Cons: The car was stinky like body odor. But we made a quick stop into Dollar Tree for some air freshener and sprayed the car down which helped ALOT.

Beware of New Orleans Budget Rent-A-Car International Airport location. They charged us $250.00 for smoke odor. We do not smoke! We have small children in the car. They will rip you off by charging something you are not responsible of. They have unfair business practice and their policy is prone to abuse. Make sure to document everything that is said. We were charged a full day on sunday because we picked up the car when the train arrived at 9:00pm even though we were told it was not an issue and key would be waiting for us in a lock box. We dropped the car off on Sunday at 4:00 am and was charged for all day Sunday as well. The Customer service was of no help at the Corporate level. Take my advice and go to a different rental agency. Avis & Budget are on our avoid list moving forward.

the facility is inside the Golden Nugget, and is an absolute breeze for guests! Parking is free if you are staying at the hotel, and it was a quick pick-up and drop-off procedure. Gentleman at the front desk was very helpful, and I felt clear on all of the expectations of the return. A little more expensive than other companies, but no hiccups.

I was told I could upgrade to a midsized for 4 bucks more a day so I agreed , waited over a hour for the vehicle to be cleaned and when I finally got in the car seats were stained so badly and the stench of cigarettes overwhelmed me so much it made me nauseated. Now I understand how a car rental company can have such terrible reviews on Google. Came in 45 minutes early for my prepaid reservation to fill out the paperwork, was told to come back at my reservation time. Came back at my reservation time and had to wait over an hour before anyone would help me. I finally am acknowledged by an employee and told there are no more cars available. I planned out my day around my reservation time and still haven't received my car now going on 2.5 hours after. Never again, AVOID at all costs rent from somewhere else.

I have rented many cars from many locations across the US, the UK and Scandinavia. Typically, you need to plan a good chunk of time to get through lines, go over paperwork, deal with agents trying to up-sell. Twice within the last two months I have rented vehicles from Budget at this location and had the quickest, easiest, most pleasant and comfortable experience both times. The staff has been friendly and helpful; the cars were ready when I arrived and were not only sparkling clean, but were newer and much nicer than I'd anticipated. The rates have been extremely reasonable, the value great. But, possibly the best part, both times I had fuel-efficient hybrid vehicles, which I sincerely appreciate. I highly recommend Budget at Owls Head if you find yourself in need of a vehicle.

My wife's card information was compromised shortly after making a reservation online using their website. They wouldn't let us pickup the rental without her card (that was no longer active). Our cards are both on the same bank account and they wouldn't accept mine because it didn't match the card that was used to make a reservation. They told us they would give us a refund and waive the $50 cancellation fee. We received our refund but the $50 fee was NOT waived. We managed to find a comperable anf cheaper rental at Enterprise as well. Definitely wouldn't recommend this company. ****UPDATE**** $50 fee was refunded

I always love going to the Budget fast-break counter which is also the same counter of for Avis preferred :-) the employees are generally very friendly and helpful and on this particular until my vehicle was not available is it just come in and hadn't even been washed and cleaned yet and they were very kind to me and took care of me and brought the vehicle to me soon as it was ready. And since it was it was a very hot day that day thankfully they already had the air conditioner blasting so I didn't even get to break a sweat

We had a terrible experience both before the reservation and when trying to pick the car up. We needed two car seats - an infant and a toddler - and called them two weeks before the reservation to confirm they would have them. They said to call back a day before so they could be sure to have them in stock. We called the day before and they informed us that actually, they don't carry infant car seats at all. This was an issue, but we were able to bring our infant seat along at the last minute and lug it around the airport. When I arrived at the car rental place a few minutes after opening, I was told that they didn't have any cars available and they were waiting to get a shipment in from the airport. I got put on a list along with the other people waiting. There was no ETA on when cars might be available. When I asked if I could just come back a couple hours later, I was told that I could, but there was no guarantee that they wouldn't run out of cars again and have the exact same issue. I had to leave for an event so couldn't wait around indefinitely. From there, we had to take some inconvenient travel options the rest of the day because I didn't have time to trudge back to the car rental agency to see if they might possibly have any cars available for me. Them not having cars significantly altered our plans for our trip and made it difficult to travel around the city as we had two young children with us. I would never recommend this Budget Car Rental to anyone, and will refrain from using any Budget Car Rental in the future - my experience was that bad.

I had a great experience. I set up everything in advance and was out the door ten minutes after I turned up at 6pm. The car was a Hyundai, which is usually a snore, but it had a back up camera, good sound system and got 49mpg (at least according to its computer, but I only used 8 gallons of gas to go to central PA and back). The return was super easy. I did have to put some air in the tires after the tire pressure light came on, but the pressures were not bad when I checked them. It was pricey, but Thanksgiving weekend in downtown DC an easy walk from my apartment more than makes it worth it.

I read the reviews, went anyway. Bad Idea. Use any other location. During pick up, two women helped me. Nice, laughed and smiled a lot. They helped me get into the make I prefer. I didn't understand the reviews. Went to drop the car off. Walked into the office and the man behind the desk looked at me as if waiting for me to say something. I started to ask where i should park the car and he interrupted me and told me to "wait your turn". Somewhat confused and mad, there was no one else in line, I asked him to just tell me where to park the car. I drove the car down to the basement where a young man explained that the person checking in cars wasn't there, that I could leave the window down, keys on the seat and take a picture of the gas needle position and head back up stairs. Ok? I took the picture of the gas needle on full and 7 other pictures of the car, including one with the car in front of the budget sign, showing the license plate & my watch with the date & time - you know, just in case. I made my way with my luggage back to the top and into the office. The original man I spoke with explained that I needed my contract to check the car in, if I didn't;t have the contract I would have to go back down and get the keys. I travel A LOT and only use Budget, I know this is not the case and explained as much to him. When I asked him to look my rental up he literally pointed at a chair and said "sit over there". I told him the car was down stairs, that I have all the information I need and to have a great night. I walked out the door, opened my credit card app and disable it. Smart move. Later that evening Budget tried to charge me an additional $94. When I called customer service, the agent explained that I was charged for a full tank of gas and a late fee. I had to talk to a supervisor, send pictures and my receipt from the gas station - time I could have spent relaxing. Ah, good times. Never going back. If you read this far, I highly suggest you not use this Budget, there's another location a few stops down on the Red Line at Union Station. If you do go to this location, be sure to treat the women that work there well, they were REALLY nice.

The line wasn't too long when I got there. So, it didn't take that long to get a car; however, when I was driving out of the gate, I realized that the tire pressure was low. Budget of course did not bother to check whether the tires were good. I had to turn around and get the tires fixed. Dropping off the car was very easy and fast. The shuttle bus driver was right there to take me to the airport. Overall, a good experience.

The worst car rental experience ever!!! The guy working there has poor listening skill. I said I wanted only the car and none of the optional services but they still charged me the loss damage waiver. I can only think he did this on purpose. Not even worth one star! REALLY OVERBOOKED, had several families coming in for graduation at FT. LEONARD WOOD, and they were the only rental open at the time we arrived from the airport!!! We had to drive 2 1/2 hours, and we have to return the van with complete full tank, otherwise it is 9.99 a gallon on US!!! Budget should reimburse us for gas, since we had to take the 12 passenger gas hog! The poor employee took so much heat from everyone, but he was so patient, kind, and informative, good job! We wanted to rent a car from Budget at New Orleans airport on June 17, 2018. The original estimate provided was $107 for three days, however, the service rep, Ashley, told us that they do not deal with credit card companies for coverage, instead we can pay $30. But she didn’t tell that was per day, and estimated charges turned out to be three times the original amount quoted. When we tried to discuss the issue with the service rep, she was rude in conversation and not willing to cooperate. Pretty bad experience, will not use Budget in future.

Fast service! This place has the rental car return process down to a SCIENCE! I had to drop off my car before I flew out from St. Louis airport. The place looks like a giant parking lot. You pull into the lot, in the row the staff indicates. Then they have three or more employees walking down each row with a hand held computer/scanner. You stand by your car until the employee gets to your car and checks you out. The row I was in had 15 cars ahead me with people needing to check oug and I was still checked out in 5 minutes. AMAZINGLY FAST SERVICE. Then you hop on the shuttle and they drop you off in front of your airline's check in at the St. Louis Airport. I can only speak of returning a car but in my opinion this is the best rental car experience I've ever had. And I travel all the time for work and have rented and returned cars hundreds of times. FYI: They also gave me a free upgrade from an economy size car to a small SUV, Toyota RAV. FREE! Excellent customer service as well.

Worst customer service ever! Shuttle came after waiting for 42min... Phone at the counter in the airport was broken and there is no way to call for a human person to five a shuttle update. Each other car rental company came at least 3 times in the same time span. Bus driver was mubbling and unhelpful with the bags. At the location there board for pickups was not displaying. So then we enter the counter section in which there is 1 person serving and a line of 9 people waiting (Avis and Budget is one line) . Took 30 min to get my 'already ready' vehicle for a total time of almost 1h30min! I had a FastBreak reservation which means my pickup time was supposed to be less than 5min with no human interaction or counter visit. Asked for a manager, s/he answered the radio and then decided to log off and go home. Well done Budget for the worst customer service I've experienced in 5 years and I rent cars over 340 days a year in the USA and internationally.

OMG! We came into Detroit on a delayed flight out of Dallas arriving about 1 am. By the time we got to the Budget rental location it was about 1:30 am! Already there were about 6 people ahead of us. There was only one poor girl working all the rentals. We waited and waited and waited. Two people ahead of us she announced there were no more cars and she was going to have to give us 12 passenger vans!!!

Maybe it was just the time of the year(around Xmas), but they only have 1 person working at the desk. So if you do decide to use them be perpared to wait more than 15 min for service. I think the old computers that they use contribute to the problem. However, everything is great, the staff is polite and friendly. It's just that they have a staffing issue.

Although I do like budget the Little Hyundai was not clean. The attendant and I walked around the car so that I can show her the dirty spots Even after the walk around, She asked if I wanted to go power washed again and I was surprised by that question. Of course when you rent a car you want it clean. I didn’t like the fact that there was always a shortage of people behind the counter which made the wait extremely long. I paid almost $400 for a Hyundai which is extremely too. I will search for a better deal someplace else the next time. I have friends who rented from Avis for the same length of time for over a $100 less for SUVs.

We landed past dinner time and it was not easy to figure out how to get our rental car. We had to leave the airport, take an elevator downstairs, to over to where the shuttles are and wait in the area specifically for Budget. When it was stopped, that wasn't even our stop because it's for their preferred customers. A little farther we go into a building where there's only two people processing everyone. The guy who processed us was nice enough. The building though was really dirty and smelly like someone has urinated nearby. The floor was dirtier than anything at the airport itself and you can tell by how gross the grout was. I was surprised we got a VW bug as our economy rental car which was nice. Returning was easy and there was a waiting area with heat for the shuttle bus to come pick you up.

This rental car company was completely disorganized. They had zero clue as to what was going on poor management when we picked up our car. 1.5 hours to pick up a reserved rental car that was prepaid. I have never had such a bad experience with a rental car company. The leadership here should be re-evaluated. I would not rent from them again, and I would advise anyone I know not to.

One of the worst experiences in my life. Made reservations 1 month ahead. Set up as rapid reservation and pre-paid on Budgets website. Gave the time I was flying in and the flight #. My credit card was charged the full rate. When I got to the car rental location. I went to the rapid reservation kiosk. My name was not showing. So I dragged all my luggage to the counter. Their were 10-12 customers in line. There was only one representative in the building. After more than one hour in line, another person came to assist the representative. She asked if there were any Rapid Reservation customers in line. I raised my hand and was called up. There was a young family with 3 small children ahead of me, so I had them go first as the children were exhausted. It was now 1 and 1/2 hours in line. I find this to be one of the worst experiences, especially when everyone had reservations.

This location is the most unprofessional I’ve experienced with Budget. When picking up the car there were 3 employees all on their phone and no one acknowledged me. I had to speak and let them know what I was there for. When returning the car, the employee was on the phone and conversing with a friend in the lobby. I told her I was here to return the rental and she informed me I needed to drive to the very bottom of the garage. I drove to the bottom and no one else was there nor instructions on what I needed to do. I came back up to ask the employee what else needed to happen and all she said was it’s fine. I’m not used to this type of experience and lack of communication with Budget. I usually have a great experience. I definitely will not use this location again. Note to management please train your employees on communication and customer service.

I arrived at the FastBreak counter in STL at 1:15pm. I did not receive my rental until 2:30 PM. The line for Avis Preferred and FastBreak was out the door and around the corner. It was 97 degrees outside. It shouldn't take over an hour to rent a car as a FastBreak customer. The staff should have figured out a better way to handle this issue. To top it off, the car I was given was so hot that the center console dashboard wouldn't work for the duration of my entire drive 2.5 hours.

Just made note of body parts missing on vehicle (rocker panel piece behind passenger side front wheel) & obvious damage on right rear of bumper, white Dodge Caravan. Also broken interior parts in rear. Headrest was lying on the floor from one of the rear seats & broken out fold down luggage panel. Otherwise, vehicle was clean. I was informed to tell the gate exit attendant of damage & that I would be given a damage noted pink slip to put with rental paperwork, but, the attendant said it wasn't necessary due to cameras at the gate.

Recently rented Ford Exorer from Detroit Metro location for a trip. Reserved ahead of time but still waited forever in line. Representative was great - extremely helpful and courteous. Car was filthy. Did not look like had been cleaned up ftom last rental. Could hardly see thru windshield film and dirty glare when sun shining. Spilled sticky drinks running down doors and console and inside smelled like a used car - stale cigarette smoke. Not a good rental experience.

Reserved a car on Tuesday for the weekend (Pickup on Friday, return on Monday) the money came out of my account on that Wednesday. I go to pick up the car on Friday and everything seems fine. The guy gets the keys to the car I’m supposed to have and tells me he needs my license and card. Give them to him, he runs my card and then proceeds to tell me that he can not rent me the car because my card is a debit card. And I tell him that the card can be run as debit or credit because it’s the same card that I always use to reserve hotel rooms. And he tells me he can’t run it that way. And I said well if y’all knew that why did the money come out of my account? He tells me he’s not sure and that I need to call the 1-800 number. In the meantime I’m calling all the other car rental places in the city and everyone is booked up. I call the 1-800 number and was placed on hold for 20 minutes only to be told that I would not receive a refund because I did not cancel within 24 hours. I told them I’m not the one canceling the reservation y’all are. I ask to speak with a supervisor and they tell me that I can’t speak with one and gave me no explanation as to why I couldn’t. So after finally getting someone to understand that I wasn’t cancelling the car but they were they told me that I would receive the full refund. I asked the customer service rep 3 times just to be sure it would be the full refund and he confirmed that. I check my account this morning and all they refunded me was the reservation fee. At this point I’m just going to dispute it with my bank because I do not even want to deal with the customer service reps anymore. This ordeal could’ve been solved by either giving me the car or refunding me my money and has now turned into an even bigger mess. I will NEVER use this car rental company ever again.

Horrible experience here. I am a Fastrack member which means I just pick up the car at the space sent to me via text. The car was FILTHY. I went to the counter and was given a different car. It too was disgustingly dirty. Neither car had been even looked at after they were returned. Finally, the counter agent went to find a car that was clean. Not cleaning the cars before renting them is inexcusable and Budget needs to address this with the staff at this location.

Return car today after i filled the tank up and then looked at bill needless was wrong, was charged double the amount told the car was not full, had to go back in to the customer service area, after arguring with them, the verified the car was full took charhe off but then try to charge me an extra day saying that my car was late about an hour, which i explained to them my car was not late because i took the car late from the parking lot originally because of the original problem... thankfully original rap from when i checked in was there and verified that that was correct. This experience has left me with the understanding that budget is incompetent and unable to fulfill its commitment to customer service. Very unhappy and will not recommend Budget!!

They don't answer their phone. Very chaotic rental experience. All other rental places will explain policies, they just throw you a piece of paper to sign without explanation, and then rush you out of the facility. I like to sit in the car for a few minutes to adjust it and learn where everything is, they rushed me and others out. I booked a full-size car for 1day with insurance and I was charged $5 for one toll gate miss and $20 for gas refill charge after returning, when I spoke to customer care they told me that I didn't fill the gas for 2 gallons which is why they charged $9.8 per gallon(seriously?). It's not my mistake if car don't accept the gas and keep on tripping me when I tried to fill the tank. I was in an assumption the tank was full and dashboard arrow show F. And I was also charged for additional transaction next day not even sure why. So, over all $5.5 + $84 + $53 for one day car rental. I raised a ticket with the support and they told to wait 5 business days, but its been 20 days already and didn't hear back from them. Interestingly, They just deducted the amount from the bank without providing any receipt or bill. Moreover, this store don't even lift the call, it always goes to voice mail and they never call you back. I never ever go to Budget again in my life and never recommend anyone too.

The rental agent at this location is not friendly. I advise going to Reagan National Airport to rent. I returned my car with a full tank of gas. The return clerk somehow noted that it was not full and I received additional charges. I brought it to the attention of the rental agent and she asked me to produce a gas receipt which I did. She then still tried to say the tank was not full because of the span of time between the date stamp on the gas receipt and my rental return time. After explaining the tank was full, she called the return clerk and he told her the tank was indeed full. She corrected my receipt, and I thanked her and she said nothing.....

No one answer via the Fast Break phone number It took 3 calls via the phone in the Fast Break building before someone answered.. There suggest was to grab a another vehicle, but there were zero SUV's which I had paid for in the area.. After making numerous calls, spending more than 6 hours on the phone and waiting more than a month for some kind of correction of an error (an outrageous overcharge by a Budget franchisee), I decided to resort to contacting my credit card company to dispute the charge. While the continued lack of response (I was promised call-backs from a supervisor 4 times) to correct the overcharge which amounted to approximately $1000, is frustrating, the fact that my complaint about the customer service I received was not responded to AT ALL is just BAD business. The franchisee, Hamid Habibi in Waltham Massacusetts, was disrespectful and abusive, telling me upon my EARLY return of my rental car that "He could charge me whatever he wanted," and "He didn't have to do what some customer service in the Caribbean (referring to Budget's cust. svc. operation) told me." He is operating his franchise inside a Westin Hotel, which will also be contacted regarding this matter. They should also be made aware of the calibre of the service and ownership of the Budget office operating inside their property. In closing, a review of the service I received is information that will be shared with friends, family, approx. 2,000 business contacts thru direct interaction, e-mail and the appropriate social media outlets.
