Jason and the team at Mel Hambelton are as top notch as they come. I was dealing with more than 8 dealers in the Midwest on our Expedition deal and Jason's honest, to-the-point and enjoyable communication stood out above all the rest. I ended up driving the 3 hours from Kansas City to Wichita to do this deal. There were other good offers made by other area dealers but there were some fishy numbers here and there or other reasons to believe the deal may not go so smoothly once we arrived at the dealer. Andrew knew that I was determined to get the perfect vehicle for a new driver. He didn't try to push me into getting something different, or trying to upsell me to something more expensive. I hate being pushed to do anything. The experience we had here was excellent and I would recommend Andrew to anyone wanting to buy a vehicle for themselves or a loved one. 2 months ago had my water pump replaced. The bolt to the alternator wasn’t tightened. It backed out into the serpentine belt. The belt shredded and pieces of the belt flew into alternator. Took car in to have Mel hambelton quick service fix what they created. Spoke to Don. He and the service shop refused to fix what they messed up. My advice is to stay away from Mel Hambelton!! As of Saturday August 17th, 2019 at 1:57 pm I have received one phone call from David Grey concerning this review. I told him in that conversation that my son Tim was at work and would call David back. Tim has called David we are now waiting for David to return Tim’s phone call.

I went in to buy a new vehicle. The salesman obviously didn't listen to much of anything i said. He did help me find a vehicle that was good with fuel economy, but it didn't have cruise. Then they want to charge another $400 on top of the $20,000 i just spent. That's not good business. Maybe they need to teach their salesman how to listen to customers and put them in the vehicle they need. Not the one they think they need. So yeah, you want a dealership that don't listen to their customers, Mel Hambelton Ford in Wichita Ks. Is that place.

They offer drinks and snacks while your looking and not like little cans of Sprite no monsters and a soda machine like at Wendy's They even sent us cookies in the mail thanking us for choosing them that they baked themselves they pay attention to detail and help you find the right car for your budget and style and they listen!!! My experience with Mel hambleton has been less than ideal. I initially took my vehicle in due to a recall on the water pump and the front desk man (who was doing nothing and not helping anyone) wasn’t approachable, inviting, and generally made me feel like I was a bother for bringing my car in. I was then called and told my car was ready to be picked up but they had called me by mistake and I was told my car wouldn’t be ready until the following day. That’s fine, no problem, but when I asked if I could be taken home, once again the gleaming personality of the front desk man made me feel like a bother. I figured my car was already in the shop so let’s have them perform a general maintenance check in order to kill two birds with one stone. Come to find out a battery mount was missing from the vehicle when I took it in for a subsequent visit to a different dealership. When I reached out to Mel Hambleton, as they were the last shop to service the car and I don’t do any maintenance on it myself, I was given the run around and eventually ended up being transferred to the owner (Mrs. Hambleton). Ultimately, she never picked up the phone, I left two voicemails, and she hasn’t returned my calls in the two weeks since I initially reached out. Save yourself some headache and go elsewhere.

I recently worked with Jeff Martin to help my friend find a new car. It was her first car and he worked for hours to find us the perfect car!! He was very patient and really listened to what she was looking for. It was affordable, but still had all the bells and whistles that and young 21 year old wants. During the entire process several other employees stopped in and said hello and even asked us if they could get us anything!! Two weeks later they even sent us cookies that I have to say we’re out of this world, which included a thank you card . I have never had service or buying experience anywhere close to what I get at Mel Hambelton Ford. My immediate family has purchased 7 vehicles since 2013 and 4 of them brand new. We are constantly blown away by the kindness, and genuine care we get from the staff. Phil Nightingale and his crew are top notch. Mark Rank helped me with the purchase of a new Raptor and it was a very smooth experience. Everyone involved went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied. Follow up calls after the sale to make sure everything was fine. Matt Rich is always on the ball to take care of any service needs we have with no hassles whatsoever. Thanks!! We'll be back

Worst dealership I have had the misfortune to deal with. Not a great deal on vehicle but better than others. Horrible wait times. Focus more on volume of customers rather than quality of service. I sold my vehicle just to never have my vehicle serviced ever at MHFord ever again. Also will probably never by a Ford in the future since this is one of two large ford dealerships in the area and sadly the best option. Service (even for simple oil changes) awful: wait times hours (every time over 4 hrs even with a scheduled time), didn’t always do what was requested, lost personal items, etc. Dealt with them over 10 times and same service every time. Nice people but horrible actual “service” even after I was called by service manager ....no changes. If you wish for dreadfully long wait times, doing non requested service but nice employees that give out popcorn and cookies to hopefully gloss over this problem then be my guest. Again I sold my vehicle to never have to deal with MHfords service department. That says something. (I have owned multiple car brands in multiple states and never experienced anything quite this bad)

They said they would install a ford factory remote start system, not an aftermarket. They installed an aftermarket. I'm worried the aftermarket voided my warranty. There is also a whining coming from the transmission rpm range 1100 - 1900 they couldn't fix. I'm happy with the color of the truck & that's pretty much it.

I came in two days prior to the Quick Lane just to have a bulb replaced in my tail light. During the process they broke my tail light itself. They immediately offered to fix it free of charge when the part came in Friday. I had an appointment Friday, at 2pm. It is currently 4:25pm and my car has not even been seen by a mechanic yet. Going on three hours all because of a 15 minute bulb replacement. I would give zero stars if that was an option right now.

I bought my last truck from Mel Hambelton back in 1997 I still have that truck it's been a great vehicle this new one I bought it at a different dealership in Texas where I live now and it's been in the shop 3 times for the same issue I'm up in Wichita working and scheduled it to at Mel Hambelton look at it and lo and behold they fixed it thanks Mel Hambelton.

Had an appointment at the quick lane 4/5/19 at 8:30 a.m. arrived at 8:10 a.m. to find cars backed up to the street, entered through the exit after sitting in my car waiting for 10 minutes and went inside. Stood inside being ignored for another 10 minutes, the advisors even had to walk around me to ignore me. They never acknowledged my presence once. Left and called Rusty Eck, they said come on over and they will get me right in for a wheel balance on my 2018 F-150 with 1500 miles on it. This is not my first bad experience with the quick lane at Mel Hambelton, the day I went to pick up my brand new truck in February 2019 I found loose bolts (could remove bolts with my hands) where they just installed my level kit on the front suspension and a dent in the driver front door. Save yourself some time and headache and take your ford to Rusty Eck for any services needed.

This place is ridiculous. They were unaware of the inventory on their own lot. We called in regards to a used car they said they didn’t have. My husband had to show them the car. (It was on the website and parked up front on their lot) They asked for full brand new retail value on a 6 year old base used car with damage and tried to convince my husband it had features that it didn’t have. We have owned 2 of these vehicles and my husband is a shop foreman at another dealership. Instead of negotiating to come to an agreement they just dismissed us and claimed their shop bill was an extravagant amount for wipers and brakes. (3k I think—-we know better.) They didn’t even address the body damage. Just a horrible experience in general. We do not plan to do business with them.

I drove over 3 hours to test drive a car they had. I liked the vehicle and decided to purchase the vehicle. On the day I test drove and purchased the vehicle it was cloudy and rainy (will be important later on in my review). When I picked the vehicle up, part of the driver side dash (under the steering wheel) was broken and hanging down as well as the driver side seat heater button broken (not this way the day I test drove it - 4 days earlier). I was told they would fix it. They did not, they pushed the piece in place and "stuck" it there. This nearly led to me wreaking the car when the piece came loose when driving and blocked my break pedal. In addition, when I got it home and in my garage, I noticed that there was white over-spray paint all over the roof of the car (unable to see on test drive and purchase due to rain as stated above) and this was never disclosed, despite the obvious buffing out on all the other surfaces. They are dishonest and deceitful. When I decide to spend over $20,000.00 for another vehicle, I would and will look elsewhere next time I purchase a vehicle. They truly give the "car salesman" a bad name and reputation. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a vehicle, because Mel Hambelton specializes in deceiving their clients and saying anything to get a sale. I have had to spend over $3,500.00 to correct items that should have been taken care of by them. Had they just made things right, I would have given them a much higher rating - they took my money happily and walked away from providing "satisfactory" customer service. STAY AWAY!

I went to them last Saturday to get the airbag on the passenger side replaced because of a recall and somehow they loosened the antenna wire which could be done very easily. they were very good about it and see if they put the antenna wire back into the radio and I have a beautiful radio again

I wouldn't even give them 1 star. The customer service manager told me today they have a company that deletes bad reviews. Word of mouth is much worse and effective then any review and they can't stop that. Kind of ironic that there are one star ratings listed. This is the most unethical customer service from the minute you walk in. They can not be trusted and they do not care about customer satisfaction. The place is a total joke.

Would never buy another vehicle here. Brought in a car that I bought new. Had 11k miles under warranty. Battery terminals corroded due to Ford putting the battery in a cover. Was told it's not covered under warranty but they could service the battery for a charge and clean the terminals. They suggested I call the salesman who no longer worked there to "work a deal". Steer clear of this lousy dealership.

Mel hambelton Ford send you cookies they're really good but Nolan Williams is like the best man to make a deal with and his friend James in the financial department is a SCAM they just wanted to sell the car quick so they give us a worst deal 15% interest rate with a large down payment and a dealership on Broadway for the same car and half the down payment with only an eight and a half percent interest rate. Also paying like $2,000 for an extended warranty Mel hambelton Ford is a joke I took the car in for repair within the first week of purchasing they said they changed the control arms and the shocks all around and did some work on the transmission and the car is still having issues but they gave me a piece of paper saying they replaced everything but it seems like it has the exact serial numbers on the previous struts and shocks the new ones had it to I'm just very disappointed at this point I went there thinking they were going to treat me better it turns out they screwed me worse with the finance company then I buy here pay here.

So I went back 3 weeks after my first visit. My job keeps me pretty busy!! (Ask Reggie)So, I called ahead to let Reggie know that I was coming. He was my original salesman that I spoke to. It took me quite some time at the dealership. However I will say that they are not in any way like the other Ford dealership here in Wichita that I will not mention. They have the selection but not the best sales staff. Even managers are full of stories....saying they will check on something and then call you back and never do. 3 days to do something that took 15 minutes to check on while I waited. You better have at least an hour and maybe 4 if you need anything done here! Made it out alive but not a very customer friendly environment. If you need anything done or have questions or concerns you can just plan on showing up to make it happen because phone calls get NOTHING accomplished.

I had my 2015 F-150 in for service yesterday at Mel Hambelton - and could not have higher praises of the experience form the initial scheduling to the delivery back to me! Everyone involved in the process was professional and courteous - in addition to taking care of a warranty issue from months back that I had forgotten to take care of! I had been getting my services (Oil changes, rotations etc...) done elsewhere because I believed I was saving money. Mel Hambelton beat the oil change and rotation price I was paying elsewhere, as well as delivering back to me my truck washed and vacuumed! Outstanding MH Ford!!!!!!!

I walked right in and was greeted by two hosts who were friendly and quickly able to find me a sales person. The showroom was clean and the cubicles were clean. The sales person was knowledgeable and moved with a sense of purpose to find what I was looking for. He was cheerful and definitely contributed to a pleasant experience. Even though most test drives I go on dealers don't send a chaperone, the sale person did do a ride along, and the test drive route was a bit short but either way, he didn't hamper or hinder my test drive experience. All in all, there were good attitudes all around and I definitely will go back. The lot had plenty of models to choose from and positive atmosphere.

He is very good at explaining problems and I appreciated that (the second time which was a more complicated issue) he talked with my son on my cell so that I didn't have to try to remember what for me seems complicated. Each time I picked up my car, it drove as smooth and sweet as the day I bought it more than 5 years ago. Sales was a good experience. Service has been remarkably unpleasant. Went to setup my first oil change on a brand new truck. Was told the best option was to use the app. Installed the app and used it to sign up around 9. Brought the truck 20 minutes before the appointment and was told that they were backed up and it would be about 4 hours. After identifying the app check in, they said they would put me in asap and got through about an hour later. I understand these circumstances happen. Next, i have a mechanical problem that needs to be looked at by service. I work 20 minutes away from the dealer. I get to the dealer 15 minutes before they open. At 7, they are still having a meeting. I and at least four others are in the parking lot waiting to drop off vehicles. Waiting as long as I could resulted in no additional assistance so I called in, but was told I needed to wait until their meeting was completed. I could not wait any longer and had to leave to make it on time to work. Calling back later and expressing the issue resulted in acknowledgement that they have meetings that can go over so I would need to adjust when to bring the vehicle in later. The next availability is a little over two weeks away but I could bring it then and drop it off. I am disappointed that as a customer, we cannot make drop offs and appointments when they are scheduled and that the response in both cases was for us to adjust as necessary to their needs. My choice of two stars is not because of the sales experience but that is one experience. I have had poor, complicated interactions for both service experiences which consumed much more of my time than expected and only one of the two service interactions resulted in achieving the goal. I can only expect that future interactions will be equally complicated and as new vehicle purchases and warranty revolve around service at this location primarily, those interactions will be what I am forced to deal with. 5 stars for sales and 1 star for service so I give them a two star overall as the bulk of interactions with this dealership will be service including the quicklube facility.

ZERO STARS. This place is awful. It took 4 salesmen, almost 4 hours, just to be lied to and deceived. They tried giving me half the value of my trade in (and didn’t say a word, just wanted me to sign the paper without explaining any of it) and were very rude when I said that number was lower than what they first quoted and that it was too low. Next day I get a call for DOUBLE their offer on my trade in. Just goes to show you how much of a rip off they are. I would NEVER trust them to do any of my business. I ended up going to Louisburg Ford and got better service, a better price, and a better truck for less than what they quoted. Save your money and patience and go elsewhere!

Overall nice people to deal with. There were a few exceptions. Found truck I wanted and was told it had went through a 124 point inspection and all was good. signed the papers and drove truck home. Drove to work the next day and had to have a tow service come out and jump me before I could go home. Battery was junk. Had to go buy a new battery. Then I get a call to come back to dealership as we needed to re-negotiate financing with another bank as original wouldn't finance because of year. They wanted more money down and when I refused and had showed them the report on truck and what the real value should be, we met half way. I also informed them about experience with battery and they just laughed. Would I deal with them again. probably. After all, they are car salesmen and doing their job to make a living.

UPDATE 9-8-2018: My wife and I worked with The Redneck Guy today to purchase a used Ford Focus. I know nothing about selling cars, but I know what most people think about guys who sell cars and I'll say this: Robert is NOT that guy. He made an experience I was dreading for a week into something nearly painless, (let's face it--spending that kind of money is never completely painless). Robert the Redneck Guy was pleasant and genuine and made us feel right at home (he must have asked if we were needed anything to drink at least six times). I did not feel pressured at any point, nor did I ever feel like he was trying to hide something or simply "make a sale." I went in there expecting to have to play the game, and it never happened. He simply did business with me. He made a generous offer on my trade and quickly resolved a price discrepancy. It was a great experience and I will recommend everyone I know who's in the market go see The Redneck Guy.

I purchased a Ford Escape from them and mostly I'm satisfied with it. That is to say I love my car but my salesman change positions right after selling me my car. He became a manager and was suddenly not available at all when I needed something from him. That was truly aggravating because I did have some issues to deal with right after I bought the car. However I can say really great things about the delivery department. These guys are the ones that fix your car up, get it washed and program your cell phones and other stuff just before you come and pick up your new vehicle. Most of these guys are really on top of things. Unfortunately I've probably had to bring my phone in three or four times to get help from them to have it sync with my car. And it's never been my car's problem it seems to be always my cell phone. I purchased my car about 2 years ago.
