Great service... I left my sunglasses enclosed in the case inside of the van in the front passenger's seat. Desperately, I reached for my phone in my pocket once i arrived home and dialed the number of the agency. Thankfully they had my sunglasses and even offered to ship them all the way to Atlanta. Great customer service I got my sunglasses back within 4 days! However, it was a bit expensive but worth it in the end when I received that UPS package in the mail of my SICK RAY BANS HELL YEAHHH BROOO

I I called AVR twice prior to renting a vehicle to make sure I was all set with my rental. When I went to rent the vehicle they wanted to charge me $100 additional for young driver fee. They also wanted me to pay an additional $30 per day for their insurance even though I had my own insurance and the paperwork to prove it along with insurance through my credit card. They did not care. I rent vehicles usually through Enterprise all the time and never have had such poor service. Don't be fooled with the cheap rates! Stick to a major rental company and avoid the headache.

They lied and told me that we had unlimited miles until we actually picked up the car and then they told us we were limited to 1500 miles. They kept my 200 dollar deposit because of "dog hair". Place is garbage and owners are money hungry and cheap.

This was definitely the worst experience renting a car (passenger van), I made a reservation for December 24 two months before, after looking for prices I decided to give it a try, I had always rent with enterprise and Budget (Enterprise my favorite) and never had issues with them, the reason I rent with AVR was because they were like $150 dollars cheaper for the entire time, so I was excited because I was expecting to get a nice van like the one they advertise (Ford Transit XL 350 12 passengers) instead I got an old 2015 Chevy Expresss with 88,000 miles on it. I told the rude lady on the front desk that I was told to get the newest van and she told me “hell no, those are only for shuttle” I was very upset but I was in a rush so decided not to make a big deal, when I start driving the van I noticed all of the problems the van had, 1. One of the seat rows was missing. 2. Brakes were making a really bad noise, they were literally metal to metal. 3. The van was given to me with the two rear tires with half of the regular pressure. 4. Two of the seatbelts were not working. 5. All of the cup holders were broken. 6. The driver windshield wiper was falling apart. 7. Windshield wiper fluid was frozen, that mean they put water instead of the regular fluid. 8. Van was so noisy that the entire trip we couldn’t talk inside. 9. When you book the van they tell you “unlimited miles” but they only give you 250 per day, all of the extra miles you have to pay them. So at the end of the day if you don’t wanna go thru all of the problems that I had don’t rent from this scams, make your self a favor and don’t even try, don’t put your family in risk by putting them in those old vans just because you think you are saving money, no you are not, you are gaining a lot of problems and being worried for the entire time of your trip, you won’t even enjoy your vacations just thinking what can happen to you in the middle of nowhere. I hope this place is shut down nobody will give them business!!!

I called for shuttle from baggage claim and they we already there and waiting for me. Jennifer was courteous and professional with experience . Took only five minutes from check in to the car. I usually don't leave reviews. However, I want to warn others to never work with this company. I made a reservation with a rep 7/9/18 for 7/20/18. I personally talked to the manager who later had a rep call to confirm the reservation. I arrived 7/20/18 to pick up my rental and was told no cars are available. AVR didn't call, email, or text to let me know they could not fulfill the reservation. I asked to speak to the manager, but of course no manager was in the office. The rep suggested I go to Midway airport where many other car rental companies are located. Due to a busy weekend, all the other companies could not provide a car, as my family needed a large SUV for a family trip. Due to this we had to cancel our trip. I called AVR the following Monday and Tuesday, but still the manager is not available. I left messages for a return call but no call. I highly suggest others to stay far away from this company.

I made an online reservation on March 8, 2018 for May 17-21, 2018 at the Chicago Midway location. On the morning of May 17 I contacted AVR to ensure that my reservation was in place. The clerk promptly informed me that yes I do have a valid reservation but that they have no vehicles available. I asked for an explanation and was told "Sorry, we don't have any vehicles available." I asked to speak to a manager and was told he would not be in until 2pm. REALLY! Its Thursday morning at 10am and the manager won't be in until 2pm. I find that incredibly suspicious. I can assure you I will never again book at AVR and would strongly advise anyone who is considering booking a reservation to go ahead and book a second reservation with another more reputable company because you will likely need it. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!

Extremely Unreliable! AVR not located in the rent-a -car center from the airport. Additional shuttle needed from rental center location. Reservation in hand, I was informed by RUDE customer service woman NO VEHICLES AVAILABLE. Left stranded in Chicago! Kudos to Alamo! Without a doubt, my worst experience ever renting a vehicles in 40 years!

Needed a large vehicle for a family trip and was very surprised when I seen them pop up. Read plenty of reviews and was very spectacle about them. Rented the van and loved every minute of it. Rates were low and a friendly staff. Was also able to prepaid gas for a cheaper price.

I received a huge suv at nearly half the price of other name brand rental companies at MDW. However you pay for this discount through time and convenience initially. The rental center for AVR is located off site from the main rental center. MDW has a rental center that requires a shuttle once you arrive at the airport. This is about a 10 minute shuttle ride. Once you're at this rental center where all the more popular rental companies are, you need to call AVR and they will pick you up at their own designated shuttle pick up. From there you should expect another 15 minutes of shuttle. The company looks to have just started at this location as of June 2018. And my reason for docking a star is because AVR took nearly an hour to pick us up from MDW rental center. Apparently they had a difficult customer beforehand and it caused a delay in shuttle pick ups. This could have easily been remedied with a second shuttle van in rotation, or an extra person/car on-call for backup shuttles. But it seems they only had 1 shuttle van in rotation at the time, which caused the delay for me. Other than the hour long wait, I was happy with service and would use the company again if you need a large rental vehicle as they are eager to please and pass savings on to you for the extra time needed to shuttle. Just make sure you take into account the extra hour or two that it might take to get your rental car.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Told me if I returned the car after time it would be an extra day. I was ok with that, but not only do they charge you the extra day, it’s at a 2x rate, with an “extra day” fee added on. Place is a dump in a sketch location as well. Will never use them again. Do not rent from this rental company! They have very bad business practices! We made reservations in January for 2 vans to be used in July. On the morning of our trip the company tried to bait and switch us for additional $$$. Jasmine the person behind the counter and Aj the manager both have no customer service skills and aided the company in the bait and switch. The shuttle picked us up promptly at the car rental facility and took us to the rental facility nearby. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Even the lady who checks your paperwork as you leave the terminal wished us a nice visit. The fast and friendly service as we returned the vehicle was appreciated along with a smooth trip back to the terminal. Vehicle was well maintained and clean. Worst experience EVER!!! First the girl working the front desk was so rude with us. Second she said we can bring the van back empty and pay $55 at $3.25 a gallon she said if we filled it up ourselves at a gas station gas is $3.75 which was a lie because every gas station we saw on the way back to return was $3.09-$3.15 and the worst part of it all the van STUNK so bad we had to stop and buy fabreeze we couldn’t figure out where and what it was. One good piece of advise is check the vans very carefully there is a lot of dings and scratches on them and you don’t want to get charged. The ONLY good experience was the van drivers they were the sweetest hard working young guys. We tipped them good.

The women that work the front desk are rude AND even though we made a reservation for an suv, when we got there they said they didn’t have anymore and did nothing to try and compensate or make the situation right. We rented from AVR during our stay in Chicago so we understand that by choosing cheap, we get cheap. That being said, after taking a shuttle from the airport to the rental agency lot we discovered we had to wait for a second shuttle - in 14° weather to AVR's lot. We called twice for a shuttle and waited almost 20 minutes before one arrived. We were then taken 10 minutes offsite where we were left to struggle in the snow with all of our luggage while our driver ran inside and disappeared. I discovered that their restroom was pretty gross and we told them about it, only to discover today when we returned our rental, that the bathroom was never addressed. We also found out that none of the charger outlets in our car worked and quickly drained our phone batteries. We made them aware of the issue, though aren't sure what might be done about it. We were in a Santa Fe. Today, aside from the bathroom, was a little better; we had help with our bags once we brought everything inside since there was no one to meet us when we drove up. There are only 2 people working there, so if more than one person is in line it takes a while since the one guy doesn't seem to work behind the counter. There wasn't much sense of any urgency. We also found it very odd that this rental agency closes at 4 PM and if your flight happens to land after 4, and they are still in the office and have to go get you, they will charge you extra because they have to stay open past their normal hours. Do NOT recommend. Pay a little more money for a better known name.

Great Staff and helpful people. There are always some hiccups when we travel. I rented a car for 5 days, but I had to cut my trip short the next day and fly back to Atlanta. The staff at AVR midway understood my predicament and only charged me for 2 days. Would definitely recommend.

Can't believe they are going charge me full reservation even if I return the car a day early. Shady practice if you ask me since no car rental company does that. Its not at the airport either and normal rent a car shuttles do 't take you to their office. I probably would not rent again. Car is not kept in a good condition mechanically either.

This was the only company that had vans available at the time of our trip. The check in took about 45 minutes and we were the only customers there. When we received the van it had animal hair all over, it was extremely filthy, drink spills all over the seats. When we questioned them they said that would notate it. I was totally disgusted and we will never use or recommend them. Oh also, the tire light was on due to low pressure. It was a nightmare experience! This company should not be allowed to use that van again! Ewwww Gross!!!

They charge for everything and the site is in a weird location. The waiting area of the place looks okay, but to get to the bathroom is quite an eye sore and the actual bathroom needs to be professionally cleaned and probably remodeled. When you book your reservation for the car they don't tell you that local drivers mileage limit is 250!!! Because on the website it says unlimited. That was very off putting to say the least. But good luck to your rental needs, just be cautious.

Zero issues with the rental, took a few minutes for rental process the agent was shorthanded, but she took care of business like a pro. Got a doge caravan, ran perfectly, plenty of power, at some stretches was doing 90 mph, didnt even feel it, drove almost 900 miles. Xcellent gas millage. Only con, if you are local renter, you cant use shuttle, only arriving can, wish I knew that going in and went directly to their facility, would saved couple hours.

I chose this company on travelocity because they rented vans. I arrived and they told me that they had no vans to rent! To add injury to insult, they did not apologize nor did they adjust the rental rate. Instead, they rented me a 3 year old, dinged up Pathfinder with 65,000 miles on the odometer! OMG! It rattled, the key fob worked only intermittently, and it had no safety features to speak of (well, it had seat belts). You might have thought that this was a personal car of one of the employees. Nevertheless, this pathfinder was clearly not big enough for our needs and forced me to make additional arrangements to move people and luggage. Travelocity can do better, Midway airport can do better. Neither entity should allow this company to market their business with them. Also, add 30 minutes to each end of your trip, because their shuttle service is the young man who cleans the returned cars—good luck getting him when you need him.

Shuttle pick up service is great. But drop off service is amazing, no need to go back to the car rental shuttle than take another shuttle back. These guys drop you off directly at the terminal. So all you have to do is drop off your car and their shuttle will drop you off directly to the terminal. Works for me.

Saw so many negative reviews and almost cancelled my reservation but it was so much cheaper than all other big name car rental companies that made me to take a chance. I called in a month in advance to confirm and to my surprise the call was promptly and professionally answered at 1am. I asked about shuttle, the car , millage and the gentleman told me that i will get unlimited mileage since I will be flying in and have a driver's license other than Illinois. Shittle picked me within minutes . Let me just say that the entire staff from shuttle driver to the people behind the counter are so amazing and courtious . No surprises at all and I paid exactly what i had on booking. I was given a free upgrade. Overall experience was so good that I am going to use them again and will tell everyone I know.

We arrived at Midway Chicago today with a reservation that was made weeks in advance only to be told that they had my reservation but they didn’t have a car for me. They offered zero help other than saying check with the other rental companies who are mostly reservation only. I will never be using this company again. Rented a van for a week. Vehicle had a non functioning lock on the sliding door so we were unable to secure our van full of travel and camping necessities. We were also issued a non functioning WiFi and denied a refund due to a technicality. Rental agent made intentionally confusing statements about the terms of the return and extracted more money. Upon return we were accused of having pet hair when we did not have a pet. Manager was not in or available. All in all I cannot recommend them.

Reserved an SUV at Midway Airport. It took about an hour for the shuttle to arrive. When we I finally got there, a lady asked for my name and informed me that they didn't have the car I reserved. The lady said she "tried to call me", but I have no missed call or voice message on my phone, perhaps they called while I was on the flight. This was one of the Best experiences that I've ever had with car rentals. When the shuttle wasn't immediately available, I was given an alternative form of travel within seconds. I was able to add an additional driver within a few minutes the next day. Jessica on the staff was the most professional and pleasant person to deal with. Nick even offered to drive us back to our hotel to save us a cab ride. Wonderful service!

I had the similar experience as other reviewer. I had booked a vehicle 4 mths in advance and 2 days prior, when called to confirm - they had no reservation for me and also were "sold out". When checked on other websites, they still had listed vans as available, for three times the price. For the profit, these people would not honor your contract and have no remorse.

Unprofessional and not pleasant. They ignored the agreement that was setup Priceline. Pulled a Bait and Switch scam. Customer service was none and void and very disrespectful. No corporate complaint number. If I would have read the reviews from the onset, I would have never considered this facility.

When I picked the car, a very friendly person met me at the counter. Checked me out within minutes and escorted us to the car. I was ready to go in under 5 min. I was traveling with my wife and kids and kids loved the kid's play area which we haven't seen in any other car rental place. When I returned the car 3 days later, the same customer service person was there and remembered my name. She had us on the shuttle to the airport 5 min after we dropped the car off. Excellent customer service, reliable vehicles. Will definitely recommend and rent with them again.

Only because no stars is not an option. Yes, you will save money but not worth it. You have to take two shuttles to get here. You are driven off site quite a bit off way. The lady that checks you in mumbles as she reads you the options. You feel unsafe and very uncomfortable as a traveler in an unfamiliar city. On our return there was no one at the desk. We were told by the driver she would return in 3 minutes. On her return no apologies for the delay. No friendly conversation. I would steer clear from this place even if trying to save a couple dollars.

Really good experience and cheap rental. Saved approximately 30% over Avis, Budget, etc. Just make sure you do a thorough walkover of your rental and note any scratches or dings. Will use again!

Stay away! The pickup is not at the standard rental car pickup. You need to take a shuttle from the airport, then another shuttle to their spot. The driver of the second shuttle was extremely slow. The van itself was fine, nothing special, had a couple dents that I had to point out but that’s fine. They don’t open early so if you have an early flight you’ll have to pay for an uber or something to get back to the airport. When I got back they told me they’d be keeping $100 of the deposit because of “pet hair” when we were nowhere near pets on our trip. I’ll never use an off brand rental again. These people are criminals.

Horrible experience. Very disappointed in Priceline and AVR for poor customer service (long waits, hidden fees and vague mileage policy). After not honoring my reservation they gave me a van that was scratched, dented and piece missing. No chance I'll use either again. Much better options available elsewhere.

I was expecting a mid sized SUV and got an upgrade to nice Nissan Pathfinder (7 passenger). The check in girl was awesome and the man at the counter at pick was very good, too. Great Value and amazing service.

I flew in to midway for my son’s graduation over this weekend. I could not believe all the minivans were sold out. I called these guys explained my situation and the gentleman at the counter arranged an Suv Pathfinder and I was able to attend the graduation. God Bless.

Great rental, excellent van and service. I had no issues renting from AVR. Last min rental based on price, and it worked out well. Unlimited mileage if you have non-IL drivers license, decent quality vans, and solid service. Plus a rerun shuttle all the way back to MDW on my departure. Sure there are other rough reviews out there, but do your homework, and give them a try. I’m glad I did, and will rent again.

We booked 2 Mini Van's from this Location 6 Months Ahead of time for our vacation going to Smoky Mountains 10 Hr Drive and a Week of Stay. Booking around March for July Pick up. We got a confirmation from AVR Van Rental. Now it was time for us to pick up. so we again got a confirmation its all good we can pick up. A day before we are travelling we got in touch with them again so we were said the Mini Vans had a accident so we will get a replacement with 4 Small Vans, we were ok with it again we got a Text Message at 12.30 Am to call them before we pick up this Vans. So we did and when we reached at location in morning we got a Surprise we were asked to pay extra $350 per Van. we asked for manager so we got all the Excuses from them and we were not able to get hold of them. It sounded like a Perfect SCAM to grab in Customer and then with no options collect extra $$$. I WOULD NOT RECOMMAND THIS PLACE.

The 1st car I chose was tagged for service but still on the lot - I had to turn around and choose a different car - this was the only delay or issue I had. Drop off was excellent - very fast and shuttle was available immediately.

Would never rent from them again first of all this rental place is not at the terminal, waited for an hour to be picked up, took us like 20 mins to the place , dodge van had a smell like something rotten ,, when we picked up van girl was not very friendly, they said it was goin to cost 268, to rent , they even held a 200. Deposit van ran good but raggedy!! Would NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO RENT FROM HERE!, and I went through PRICELINE.

We received a fabulous ride for a very reasonable price. The Nissan Pathfinder we received had incredible gas mileage so we traveled a whole lot of miles for a small price. It was easy to pick up the car from their facility. We took the shuttle bus which took us to AVR rental and Within 15 minutes we were on our way. I won't pay higher prices to big name companies anymore. Will rent from AVR again for sure.

AVR has great customer service. After they dropped us off at the airport when we returned the van. We realized we left my husbands hat in the car. We called them and they were so nice and came all the way back to the airport to bring us the hat. Thank you!

THEY CHARGE FOR MILES!!!!!! NOT UNLIMITED!!!!!! Reserved a van for 12 people for a trip to Kansas City. When I arrived there was another person complaining that their reservation thru Priceline said unlimited miles but the agent stated that they only rent 250 miles per day. I showed her my reservation itinerary that also read unlimited, and they stated that they cant do anything about it because it was company policy. Take it or leave it. Priceline did make mention of this in their exemption rules where it reads "company policy mileage to be determined by company". I called Priceline to complain about their posting as well and got a full refund. Do not fall for this company!!!!!
