I have purchased a number of vehicles and the experience has been a mixed bag. That however was not the case at Steve's Hometown Chevrolet in Payette, ID - This was by far , hands down the absolute best experience I have ever had at a dealership. For reference, I had been looking for a Silverado High Country for about 3 months and being an internet shopper, I was looking across Nevada, Washington, California and Utah. As fate would have it, I stumbled across the best price not only in the markets I was looking but IN THE NATION for this tuck. Absolutely incredible. I actually called the dealership in shock and asked Tyler Taylor how the pricing could be where it was at. He patiently walked me through all the details and set up everything to work smoothly so that when I came in we would have no issues. I am happy to report that he did so and then some. I flew up from Reno, NV to Boise, ID and Tyler was there waiting to drive me to the dealership - he even had a diet pepsi waiting for me in the vehicle - class act. When we arrived at the dealership there were a few folks already in F&I so we grabbed a quick bite to eat and then headed back to wrap up the sale. Tim Nicholls walked me through the final details and had a no pressure offering of additional warranty offerings for me should I want to take advantage of them - again, this was a painless process - easily the best close I have ever had - really great. Once the deal had wrapped up, I had a quick question about the vehicle and Tom Lehman (General Manager) came out and answered all my questions in a really cohesive manner to the point that I expressed my over-the-top satisfaction with the entire process. I was and am completely floored at how easy and seamless the whole experience was. Thank you Tyler & the rest of the team at Steve's Hometown. This sets the gold standard as to how the car buying experience should be! I have never been so happy driving away from a dealership in my life. Keep up the excellent work - I'll be back for our next rig. Thanks again!

Buying a car here was the BEST buying experience ever. We have bought a lot of cars and this was by far the easiest. We live 4 hours away and they delivered the car to us. I recently purchased a car from Steves' Hometown Chevrolet in Payette, Id. I knew that I wanted a hatchback of some sort, so I went on Carfax just to see what models and prices were out there on a used vehicle. They had a 2015 Chevrolet Spark that I couldn't stop looking at. I filled out my information on Carfax, and was very fortunate to have my interest answered by Michael Melendez. We spoke about my financial situation, but the biggest obstacle for me, was the 7 hour trip to get there.That was just not possible for me. He mentioned that they had transported vehicles before. Long story short, my loan officer worked with Michael and his manager, Chris, and a deal was made. My car was literally delivered to my door on March 31st of this year. I haven't had a car for almost 6 years, and Michael did everything possible to make certain that I ended up with that Chevy Spark! For as long as I live, I will be continually thankful for Michael Melendez, and everyone involved in seeing that my dream became a reality!! Good job, everyone, and thank you all!

Steve's Hometown in Payette has done the impossible and found a vehicle that fit our criteria and got us in it with NO down payment. We are a one income household and need a minivan for less than $5000 with less than 150k miles. Tyler worked so hard and found us a vehicle and our monthly payment is only $116 a month. I highly recommend at least checking them out, we went in Saturday for a different vehicle that we ended up not liking and Tyler brought us back Monday to look at this one. I live in Reno, NV and I found a great truck that had a price that beat everyone in Nevada, “wasn’t even close”. I called and talked to Tyler Taylor over the phone. I was concerned about driving 7hrs to Payette and having to deal with all the hassle of waiting on paper work and just all the hassle of buying a truck. But he was awesome, I was able to do pretty much everything over the phone and email. When I got there, my new truck was sitting there pretty much waiting for me. I got a good deal on my trade in, Tyler and everyone else was great. All the paperwork was ready to be gone over, they answered all my questions and I was out of there in no time and made it back to Reno that night! I highly recommend trying this place if your looking for a new vehicle!

I was on a trip to Colorado when I had car trouble. Baker Garage didn’t have the part needed for the repair so they called Hometown Chevy. I got to Hometown during the lunch break but as soon as the mechanic got back he jumped on my repair. In the meantime the service manager asked if there was anything else they could do for me. Then as soon as the repair was over both the mechanic and manager made sure everything was taken care of. Total time spent there was less than 2 hours and the repair bill was quite reasonable. Bottom line: Hometown Chevy was great to deal with, highly recommended

We recently had what I consider to be one of the best car-buying experiences my husband and I have ever had. In the process of purchasing our latest car, we were at each of the three local GM dealerships. Two were absolutely awful, and one stood out as exceptional. Steve's Hometown Chevrolet in Payette, and Devron Pendill, the sales associate we worked with, made the car buying process nice and easy. We had questions and Devron was very responsive over email and the phone. He was upfront and disclosed information the other dealerships purposely tried to hide. We knew what we wanted and were able to make all the arrangements to take ownership even before we got to the dealership. We literally only spent about 45 minutes at the actual dealership finalizing things. It was a great process. Chris was excellent to work with finishing up as well. We live in Meridian, but it was definitely worth the drive to Payette for this purchase. These guys were great.

My experience with Art at Steve’s hometown Chevrolet, Payette Idaho was the easiest most comfortable car deal ever. Let me start by making it known that I live in northern California and was willing to travel for a deal. I was looking for a CHEVROLETTE 2500 diesel and found one at a great price online with their website. My fear was hidden fees and missing features I was specifically looking for on the truck. I eventually got in contact with a saint of a man named Art. Art was the salesman I dealt with through the entire process. He was very honest and didn’t feed me any nonsense. Throughout the span of a week I was in contact with him with any questions I had. If he didn’t have an answere (which he usually did,) he would call me right back. He sent detailed pictures and videos of the truck because he understood I was committing to a flight and didn’t want any surprises. We did the credit check online and worked out all of the numbers, proof of insurance, and logistics of flying to Idaho over the phone. Art helped me understand the process in transferring a vehicle from one state to another, smog etc. He also offered some travel/lodging advice! We flew to Idaho and Steve’s hometown Chevy picked my wife and I up at the airport. We walked into the dealership and drove out 45 minutes later. Super quick because all of the details were previously worked out I can’t say enough about Steve’s hometown Chevrolet and their hospitality. Super nice people with no BS. Art made our out of state purchase easier than any local car purchase I have ever made. I got my dream truck and felt great about it from start to finish. Thank you Art and Steve’s hometown Chevrolet!

We broke down on the road near Payette while traveling. We had our vehicle towed to Steve's Hometown Chevrolet. They took good care of us and made the necessary repairs. Shortly thereafter we had more problems and they responded quickly by making the 2.5 hr trip to retrieve our vehicle and provide us with a loaner. After finding that the part they replaced had a warranty issue, they completed the rest of the repairs and we are back up and running again. They have great customer service in all departments and I would recommend them to anyone.

I was reluctant to go back to Steve's Hometown Motors after a bad experience in 2001 when I purchased a new vehicle from them. I am glad I put the past behind me and walked through the door. Even though I had to do some research on my own from other dealerships to get the best price possible, the salesman and Sales Manager were outstanding. After further review of spending 18 grand here on a car- I realize why there was 6 car scent things in my car. I drive a semi so I’m not home often but after coming home a few times the car scent things were wearing off and a musky weird smell comes from the A/C,,, I’ve asked Paul countless times to fix the problem. They obviously knew because they put 6 car scent things in it. Kinda mad at this lot. In 2008 I bought my first second GEN dodge from hometown motors and the service was so great and the pick up is still going strong that when our family decided to upgrade to a larger cab size they were the first dealer I had in mind. Even though we have since moved and live 4 1/2 hours away I looked them up and found exactly what I was looking for! Tyler Taylor was our salesman and I cannot put into words how incredibly helpful and genuine he was. He went above and beyond and out of his way to give me the information I needed before making the trip with our two small children so I was almost certain that this pick up was exactly what we were looking for. When we got there, there were no surprises because he had already told us everything that we needed to know and the pick up was fabulous! We are ecstatic about our new (used) pickup and would highly recommend them to anyone! Ask for Tyler, he’s your man! He’s not pushy to get you to sign paperwork and is really out for your best interest!

Not impressed at all. I've taken my car in to their shop three times since the change in ownership. Two weeks ago I took it in for a check engine light and a burning smell. They kept my car for eight days and only offered me a rental car after I asked for a loaner twice when they had already had my car for three days. The first time I asked for a loaner, I told Jeff it would really help me out, and his response was, "yeah, I bet it would help you out to have a car." Seriously? Even when they finally offered me a car, it was offered was through Enterprise in Ontario, and I would have had to pay the difference between what my warranty covered and what the rental car cost. Seems to me that it's their fault they don't have enough loaner cars, so they should absorb the additional cost of a rental instead of passing it on to the customer. Fortunately most of my repair was covered by my extended warranty (they charged the company $1,200), but they still trip to rip me off for some nuts that apparently weren't covered. Jeff told me there would be 6 nuts for about $3.75 a piece ($22.50), but but when I actually went to pay I was told there were 8 nuts at $7.50 a piece ($60). I normally wouldn't have said anything, but there were a lot of shady things that happened, so I pointed it out to Gio and he fixed it for me. That was two weeks ago. Then yesterday, my check engine light turned back on and the burning smell came back. I presume it's the exact same issue that Steve's Hometown spent 8 days fixing and made $1,200 from the warranty company. So now I have to take it in again -- definitely not going back to Steve's, though. The one positive thing is that the staff is friendly. I think that certain things are out of their hands based on policy, but it was certainly a disappointing experience for me. Like I said, I've been to the service department three times since the change in ownership, but I don't intend to go back.

Very disappointed in my visit here and will not be returning. I drove an hour to see a truck here and was told I could look at it but when I arrived they had sold it and did not tell me. The salesman did not appear like he cared and appeared very unmotivated to make a sale as he was playing games on his phone during my test drive. VERY UNSATISFIED

Paid them to fix my oil leaks. Got the vehicle home after repairs and found it was still leaking. They apologized and were quick to get me back in the shop. The second time, I picked it up after hours and saw there was still oil dripping. I wiped it up thinking it was just residual. But after a 90 minute drive home, I realized it was still dripping oil. I cannot park the vehicle in my driveway without it leaving puddles. The staff was incredibly nice so I gave them 2 stars. They did fix some of the oil leaks, but I can't keep drivings 3 hours back and forth for them to get it right.

Started well with salesman Paul, excellent guy, though not too knowledgeable on all gadgets and gizmos these new cars have to offer. I test drove about four cars, spent two hours on deciding, and the floor manager comes out , he sent his salesman back in the building then turns to my wife and I demanding numbers and he insinuated that the car I liked was too much money for I, before evan running my credit . I told him what I had envisioned for the payment to be , and he scoffed "rates went up" . He was not interested in knowing what we liked or disliked, he was just interested in a sale. Pretty much the feeling we got out of him was "make up your damn mind or get out" He was very pushy. Well if his intentions were to run my wife and I off , it worked. A nice afternoon shopping with the family , ruined by their floor manager, lost a sale , and a good rep. Hopefully they treat there next customers better.

Had an appointment to test drive a vehicle. Let the sales person know that I would be coming in a couple hours early. When we came in, the vehicle was being sold. Salesman was nowhere to be found and never returned my message. A simple response letting me know that the vehicle was no longer available would have saved me the 45 minute trip. First off, whenever you drive 50 miles to go to a dealership, you really hope that the people there will be helpful and friendly. Boy were they! Aaron Klem, the general manager, went out of his way to make sure that my buying experience was amazing! He made sure that it was quick and fairly painless, and he didn't really argue back with anything that I wanted when it came to cost and payment. He was helpful and made sure I left happy. Then, when I came back for a few touch-ups, he once again went beyond what he needed to do, and made me feel like I was his number one customer. I plan on making the 50 mile drive every couple of years for a new vehicle...and it is all because of how they treat their customers!

the people were pleasant enough, but the overall experience wasn't what it should have been. my husband went in to buy a truck from james ( the new guy). he told my husband that the vehicle had been gone through with a fine tooth comb and that all necessary repairs had been done. he also told my husband that when we came in to sign all the docs that a copy of all the work that had been completed would be given to us and that the truck would be detailed and ready to go. fast forward 24 hours, we go in to sign the paperwork. first thing i notice as i'm walking be the truck is that the entire passenger side is filthy- not good. then, knowing that we are on a tight schedule nothing is ready to go and they're still "working on some things". james has us sitin his office until the finance guy is ready, asks us for referrals, and hands us each a stack of business cards. we head in to finance, ask for the list of what's been done- ***crickets*** we'll get it to you. all done. papers signed, we go outside ( where the rest of the team is standing around in a cloud of vape s"smoke") and i tell james that the truck is dirty and ask him for a voucher to come back and have the truck detailed. he says sure he'll send it to us ( again with the we'll get it to you) and the fuel tank isn't even full :-( 3 days later, husband is driving his new ( to us) truck- check engine light comes on, dashboard lights up, weird things happening... but truck is running fine so he thinks it's just a glitch. it's not. transmission is slipping... so much for believing that "everything" had been gone through and that all necessary repairs were done. needless to say, no paperwork or vouchers have arrived. no follow up calls to see if we're happy with our purchase. pleasant people, close to home. but won't shop here again nor will we refer our friends #shouldhaveshoppedatbronco

I was extremely disappointed! I was looking at chevy cruse hatchback the one I seen online was close to other dealership Internet price. When I put my hands on it it wasn't what I expected. So l started looking at sedans. Found one I liked worked a deal. Looked online at other dealerships. Found one identical to the one I just worked the deal on for $2,600.00 less. They told me that they would be able to sell it to me for that price and told me that I wouldn't get as much for my trade. I left and drove over to Peterson's Chevrolet. Worst dealership I’ve ever dealt with. I went in excited to buy a truck, and they gave me the run around. I made numerous trips out from Nampa to test drive a truck after the salesmen said it was ready just to get there and find the truck was still in the shop. They did not seem interested in making business and have horrible customer service. I could never get a real answer and the service department is a joke. They made buying a car a horrible experience and I would not recommend them to anyone. After three weeks of waiting, I took my money elsewhere.

We made the trip from Central Oregon because their pricing was the best in a 5-hour radius. There really was a "hometown" feel to working with them - very little about this purchase felt like the usual "car deal"! Jimmy was easy to work with and respectful of limitations due to work schedules (we made this long-distance deal almost exclusively via text messaging.) There was a small misunderstanding when we arrived but Jimmy and the general manager Aaron immediately got it resolved. In fact, we were particularly surprised & impressed with Aaron's genuineness and style of communication ... completely different from any other experience we've had dealing with a sales or general manager of a dealership!
