I RARELY write reviews but I am very angry now. I originally had a good experience with this dealership. The buying process of my car was generally easy. Staff was friendly, sold me my car with a full tank of gas and sent me on my way. After buying my car is a totally different experience. After a year of owning my car I needed to sell it for a bigger car since I have a new baby. I called to cancel my warranty and they told me to come in. I did and it only took a few mins to do, but no on really explained the process. 4 weeks go by and I still don't see the refund on my warranty. I called and left a message by voice mail and at the front desk.... Never got a call back. After a week went by I called demanding a manager.... Left a message... Still no call back. SO I CALL AGAIN. Finallyyyy someone took my call after I explained how mad I was. I understand it takes awhile to get a warranty refunded. But at least the dealership could have returned my phone calls with update and to answer my questions. I feel like they don't care to help me anymore because the sale is done on my car, and they aren't getting any money from me. My husband canceled the warranty on his car two weeks after I did, and he already has his refund. Here I am going on about 6 weeks, still no warranty refund. Called the financial manger at the dealership twice for status..... STILL NOTHING. Will not be recommending or buying from this dealership again..

A year or so ago, we ALMOST bought a Lexus from Joseph Jensen. Though it was a close decision, we finally went with another brand. If the decision had been based SOLELY on the personality and the fine personal and professional qualities that Joseph represents we would not have hesitate to buy a Lexus from him. Recently we needed to purchase another car, and, not surprisingly, quickly returned to see Joseph at Peterson. We were again impressed with Joseph's genuine empathy for our opinions and his patience with our questions, and - what do you know?!! - we bought a Lexus from him. The experience was terrific. We love our new car! What is more, since the sale, Joseph has been proactively supportive - and patient - as we learn the 'talents' of this amazing, technologically sophisticated car. Needed new battery for our Lexus RX350. Was able to get an appointment the next day. Cost was a bit higher than if I had replaced it myself. However, I now have peace of mind that it done right. Warranty is decent: 24 month free replacement, 50% for next 24 months and then 25% for balance of 36 months. Our last Lexus Battery was the original and lasted seven years. Finally, got complimentary car wash which is always nice.

My Lexus broke down just outside of Boise on the first leg of a road trip from Oregon to Utah. It was towed to Petersen Lexus. The service we received was phenomenal! They got me in first thing and because they need to order parts for the repair, Brad set up with a loaner so we could finish our road trip. As we presently are driving to Yellowstone, I still can’t believe Petersen offered this to us. Unbelievable customer service!

If I could select no stars I would. This is how my last visit to Peterson's Lexus Service Department went: Over two months ago, I received a Safety Recall Notice from Lexus concerning an issue with the side impact airbags. I called Peterson’s Lexus Service Department to set up an appointment. On the day of the appointment I took my Lexus into Peterson’s. When I got there, I was told the part required for the recall was not in stock. (Issue #1, they don’t check to make sure the required parts are in stock before setting up a recall notice appointment). I was told they would order the part and call me when it was in so I could reschedule the appointment. Two months later and I haven’t heard from Peterson’s Lexus Service Department (Issue #2, no follow up by Service Department), so I decided to call them. After getting connected to a service representative and explaining my issues, I’m transferred to the Parts Department to determine if the required parts are in stock. The first thing the Parts Department gentleman says is why is the Service Department connecting you, they should be doing the checking. I don’t even know what part I’m supposed to be checking for. (Issue #3, transferring customer to Parts Department) At any rate, he checks his computer and determines the part has been ordered and is in stock. (Issue #4, why wasn’t I called, why is a part required in a safety recall just sitting in the parts department?). I ask him if he can set aside the part, so I can make sure it’s there when I bring my car in. He says there will be no problem, it’s got my name on it. So, he transfers me back to the Service Department and I make another appointment. A couple of days later, I bring my Lexus to Peterson’s for the appointment. At this point I’m given a loaner car and told the car would be ready by 3:00 pm. Just as I’m about the leave the Service Representative tells me the part is not in stock for the recall and it’ll have to be ordered. (Issues #5 and #6, again they don’t check to make sure the required parts are in stock and after the first time, they didn’t do any thing to fix the mistake from the first visit). I tell the Service Representative that I personally checked with the Parts Department 2 days ago and the part was in stock. He says, OK, he’ll double check and he’ll text me with what he finds out. We leave Peterson’s and to kill some time head to the mall. After an hour and a half and no text or call from the Service Representative, I call the service department. The Service Representative does some checking and determines that part is not in stock, it’s being shipped overnight from Portland and it’ll arrive tomorrow. (Issue #7, no followup by first Service Representative) (Issue #8, the Parts Department didn’t actually check to see if the physical part was in stock). After that the service went pretty much as expected. The next day Peterson called me that my car was done and I drove back to Boise to pick it up. I’m disappointed that Peterson’s Service Department didn’t seem to have any sense of urgency surrounding this Safety Recall. My understanding is a Safety Recall is required because there is something wrong with the vehicle that could cause serious harm or damage. It took them close to 3 months to fix this safety issue and only because I decided to followup after not receiving a return call from them.

My son dropped the car off to have the lexus pros tell us why the back end shook when at highway speeds, They told us we needed new tires, our tread was fine so we were a bit doubtful. I will try it with different tires and see what happens. Fortunately the did not charge us for the advice so I still gave them 4 stars.

Great Lexus dealership. We had owned a RX350 a few years ago and decided to get back into one again. We pulled into Peterson Lexus and was greeted by Michael Diaz. We test drove a new RX and then an F Sport NX300. Finally we drove an NX300h and we liked it. No pressure and many questions answered by Michael. He even found what we wanted at another dealership and got it for us. Sarah in finance walked us thru the purchase explaining everything as we went through the paperwork. Buying from Peterson Lexus was a great experience and really treated us like family.

Excellent service for routine lube oil and filter However I was told and my paper work showed I needed new tires As my tires were at 3/32 or less Peterson’s provided two options for tires and I checked the prices on line and in person. Local tire stores were 100.00 to 150 less for four tires. I went to two different tire stores and they both told me that I had 5/32 on all four tires and that I did not need new tires. I bought a 4.00 tire depth gage and checked myself Sure enough 5/32 So this is a reminder to all to have other tire shops look at your tire needs, not just the dealer

This is the second car I leased from Lexus and at the end of a 3 year lease I wanted to buy it. The sales manager we were referred to kept us waiting in the waiting room for over an hour before he finally called us in the office, after he ran my credit to 8 different institutions. He did not introduced himself to us nor did he explain it would take a while before he could see us. He was in a rush to get us out and going in our way and was not very hospitable. We are very disappointed with their customer service after being a customer for 5 years. I believe Lexus needs to monitor these dealers who sell their cars and pay close attention to consumers and the reviews we are posting.

I shop at Peterson Lexus with confidence that they will treat me honestly. Jake McArthur worked with me for the whole afternoon until they closed on getting me into a Lexus RX 350 lease. He listened to my requests for looking at different vehicles and different ownership options. His willingness to try each option and give me results and let me choose was a benefit in coming to my final decision. He took time to review the vehicle's options and benefits, as well as going over the benefits of the lease over purchase for my situation. Jake offered that I come back at another date to show me the in detail regarding the many features of the RX350.

I purchased a 2015 Lexus 350 ES a few months ago. During the initial test drive the road noise I was hearing didn't register as a problem, and I believed it was due to the road itself. After purchase, as I drove it more, I came to realize there was a problem with the vehicle. I purchased the extended warranty which is a first for me. The company boasts about the great service. I took the vehicle in with this concern and informed them it sounded like a wheel bearing noise. They were unable to locate/pinpoint the discrepancy. I suggested they change out the tires/wheels with another Lexus and test drive it. They did and reported they believed it was one tire, however they weren't sure. Not being sure, they still recommended replacing the tires for $1,000. I chose not to replace the tires at this time since they were unsure and the tire are almost like new. When I picked the vehicle up, the service representative slipped up and indicated they couldn't locate the noise when the last owner brought it in? So this entire time, Peterson was aware of this history, and they acted like this was a new issue. I called the Peterson/Lexus management June 24, 2019. They returned my call, however management seemed to have little interest with my concern. During the conversation, the toned seemed to change and then Todd assured me he would call back in two days after he made an internal inquiry. To date, the company has failed to follow up and return the phone call in an attempt to remedy this situation. Because of this, the service experience in this case was substandard and inadequate.

This was my first visit at Peterson’s Lexus of Boise and will definitely not be my last. Before moving to the area my previous Lexus dealer told me my ‘14 RX needed rear brakes soon. S/A Tanner told me his technician would inspect the F&R pads and advise findings. Low and behold I have 6mm pad remaining on both. Recommendation to leave alone to reinspect at next service was made. I have been a Lexus customer since 1994 and found the ownership experience quite good overall, with the dealer sometimes the weak link. I hope my experience today revives the dealer side of the equation to the same level as Lexus’ vehicles. Great job Tanner and staff!

I have always had great experiences at Peterson Lexus, but am disappointed in the service I received today. I had a 1 pm appointment for a standard service on my car. (My car only required a tire rotation and they topped off the fluids). I showed up at 12:55 and was told my service rep was busy but would be with me shortly. At 1:40, a different rep came and finally checked me in and sent my car back for service. At 2:45, I had to find someone to inquire about the status of my car. I was finally checked out around 3 pm with no explanation about the lengthy wait. Today's appointment did not meet the Peterson Lexus standard.

Everyone in the service department were wonderful. Very polite. Tentative. My only disapproval is that what I was told on the phone before I drove the 50 miles to Boise was not accurate. It cost me quite a bit of time and money. I ended up with a key for $222 that I could have gotten quite a bit less expensive at the locksmith that they ended up sending me to in order to get it programmed because Lexus could not program it. I originally was told that only that's his could make these keys. I live in Ontario and I'm on social security so this was quite a expense for me. Consequently I will be driving back to Boise tomorrow to the lock and key place they sent me to and he is going to cost me another $200 to program the car and the key together.

Update: just got a call from Bill at Peterson's and they are going to send a technician to fix the problem to save us a trip to Boise! Now that is good service! I bought a used Lexus from Peterson a few months ago. The first bit of cold weather we have I'm loading groceries into the back of my RX350 Sport and the lift gate falls right on my head. Apparently the struts or hydraulics are bad! So we decide we will make the 2 hour trip to Boise to get it fixed when the first oil change happens. So we make our appt. and call a week ahead to make sure they will have the parts to replace them. My husband even gave them the part numbers. The day of the appt. my husband makes the trek to Boise. When he picks up the car the service department says sorry but we didn't have the parts. You'll have to come back. Lousy service!! I would NOT recommend Peterson's!!

The team at Peterson Lexus made my life SO EASY... I dropped my car off to get an oil change and tire rotation. There were a few recalls on my car, so I had to leave it for the day. Without hesitation, I was offered a loaner car for the day and was in-and-out in about 20 minutes flat. Also, I was late to pickup my car at the end of the day and Dylan stuck around an extra 20 minutes for me. Overall... 11/10 would recommend!

Arrived at 9Am for scheduled closure and payment on Land Cruiser. Zack was there and ready for test drive, which went well. Then there was no one in finance to close. Had to wait until 1.15 PM. Doubt I would buy another car from Peterson’s.

My buying experience at Peterson Lexus went well. I’ve had some poor dealings with other auto dealers in the past, so I had come to dread shopping for a car. Our salesman was Jake McArthur and he is very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. There was no pressure and the price for the used car we purchased was a fair price. There was no need to haggle to get a reasonable price. After the purchase, we found a few things missing in the car. So we asked for these items. We did not get a firm commitment that these items would be granted. However, the very next day I stopped by and Jake gave me all the items we requested which made me very happy. I don’t know how their service will be, but when I take the car in for servicing I will write up a review. I would definitely return to Peterson Lexus to shop for another car.

Our family stopped for lunch in Boise on a late Saturday afternoon on our way to Sun Valley when my son noticed a large gouge in the sidewall of the right front tire of my ‘18 Lexus Rx. A quarter sized area of rubber was gone and the cord was exposed. Clearly we couldn’t get back on the highway, and after calling several tire shops, no one in the valley had a replacement that would match. I was looking at 4 new tires when the car was essentially brand new. Calling a dealer for tires isn’t usually my first thought, but Peterson Lexus had one, and replaced it in way less than an hour total time. The service rep, Tanner, was excellent. It was a great relief likely saved us a lot of additional time or expense. Thanks, guys.

Jake McArthur is an absolute doll! It was time to turn in my lease. I went to the dealership (not Peterson Lexus) that I bought my car at to look at other vehicles. I was interested in purchasing a car, rather than getting into another lease. I was also looking at used vehicles so that I could have a lower monthly payment. I found a used vehicle that I liked, but the finance department said they couldn't "get me into" the used vehicle because of my credit (although it was 1/4 of the cost of the vehicles they were trying to sell me). They insisted they could only "get me into" another brand new car and Lease. They also were demanding that I put $1000 down. One of the finance managers also personally insulted me. I left. The next morning, I reluctantly walked into Peterson Lexus because I saw online that they had a cute used Audi for sale. It had low miles and looked to be in great shape. Jake was the first person I met when I walked in. He was kind, a great listener and apologetic for the horrific experience I had the night before at the other dealership. He patiently listened to my wants/needs and ultimately, got me into the car that I really wanted. I know that the car I bought from him wasn't a "big ticket item" compared to some of the new Lexus' on the sales floor. I just bought a used vehicle from Peterson Lexus. My experience was overall good, there was just something that I wish could have been disclosed before finishing up the paperwork. The vehicle was advertised to have remote start and it was one of the main features when I looked at the vehicle online, however, after I signed the paperwork for my vehicle I asked for the key fob and was told they don't have one and I would need to purchase it. I am very disappointed with Peterson Lexus after almost purchasing a new Lexus GX 460. We were initially looking at a used GX 460, but the salesman told us we could get a new one for the same price after all the incentive offers. We were specifically interested in a new one that we test drove several times and spent a lot of time discussing with the salesman. Finally we decided to purchase, went through the process of assessing our trade in, etc. it wasn’t until the end of the process as we are looking at final numbers that the salesman informed us that the new GX we were looking at does NOT include any of the accessories in the price we discussed. I have never experienced this before. I would assume that when you are looking at a car, it includes everything you see. Not in this case, they said that they would remove the upgraded wheels, tires, rack, window tint, etc. and THAT is what we would get for the price we had discussed. They even have photos of the new GX online listed at the price that does NOT include these accessories. This is extremely misleading! We just wasted so much time there and feel like there was a complete lack of transparency throughout the process.

We have been customers of Peterson Lexus and Peterson Toyota on Fairview in Boise practically since we have owned cars (customers for about 20 years now). For many years, they offered impeccable service and positive buying experiences. We always had amazing interactions with Nick and Tracy who used to work in the service department for many years. However, something seems to have drastically changed with the dealership in the last few years. Our last purchase experience of a used Lexus was frought with issues, and left us feeling like we had been badly cheated. Our salesperson Joseph seemed very honest and great to work with, but was immediately counteracted by the sales manager's disingenuous attempts to appear as though he was willing to negotiate on the price when clearly he was not. The purchase process took many hours due to them wasting our time as though they were willing to negotiate when ultimately, we basically had to pay the asking price on the used vehicle. Also, when we came in several months later with the same used Lexus to ask Anthony, the sales manager, about our vehicles' current value for a possible trade-in and purchase of a new Lexus, we were told that it had dropped in value by about $9,000 within a few months (how can a USED vehicle decline in value by that much over a period over several months??). They wouldn't even look at the same bluebook values that they had used to convince us to purchase the very same used vehicle in the first place. Then let's discuss our recent service visits with Peterson. Our most recent service visits have left much to be desired as well. The last time we took our Lexus in to the service department it was for a multi-point safety inspection prior to driving our vehicle to another state, so safety was very important. We discovered almost 4 months later, when our "check engine" and "oil" lights came on, that it seems that they had either failed to note during the multi-point inspection that there was no oil in the vehicle, or had drained the oil and forgot replace it with new oil. Either way, checking the oil seems like an important component of any safety inspection. We had our local mechanic check the vehicle out and there was almost no oil in the engine at all (for nearly 4 months in our Lexus SUV) and we also had him check for oil leaks in case somehow a leak was to blame. There were no oil leaks present. We were crushed, as we have done everything possible to take the best care of our vehicle that we possibly could. Now, there is nothing that we can do to get our vehicle back the condition it was previously in after running it pretty much without oil for so long. The engine is now "laggy" and sluggish, and when we emailed Peterson to inform them of the situation, they did not even respond. This seems to be typical of Peterson's service anymore unfortunately. Our previous service appointment, the technicians scuffed the side of car leaving noticeable damage to our clear coat and left an oily "hand print" on the upholstery which they said they would remove during the next visit, but did not. They said that they were unable to remove the scuff in the clear coat, and it does not appear that they even tried to remove the oily marks on the upholstery. So disappointed with what used to be an awesome company to do business with. My wife and I are so completely exhausted with waiting for this dealership to do the right thing. Probably will never return here after 20 years of being a loyal customer.

Honestly the cars are amazing, the service dept staff and the sales staff are great. The low review is for the parts dept not only are they charging for the codes (which you legally own when you buy the car no other dealership charges) but he lied to me saying it was Lexus charging them (I called Lexus and learned this was NOT TRUE) so having to pay for something I own is a little frustrating, but being lied to about it that's a deal breaker.

From scheduling to picking up the car at the end was all very easy and smooth.
