Terrible customer service. Don't expect them to ever answer the phone if you need to change your reservation. They either never answer or hang up on you. Instead you have to work through a powerless customer service agency that tells you to keep trying to call back. Will never rent from this location again.

Waited over an hour and a half in line. Didn’t have enough cars available - each person had to wait for one to be cleaned. Alamo seems to be the busiest rental co. and doesn’t have enough staff on hand. Poorly organized. I would have gladly paid extra to save time at another rental company. Staff were great but overwhelmed.

Horrible customer service orb sets of keys were hooked together and you could not take them apart so that two people could have keys. No one is ever at the desk. I had to come back to get something left in the car and no one was around to help. They are open from 8am-10pm and I came at 7:00pm

Rented a car over thanksgiving in Chicago. Booked last minute and the cheapest available vehicle was a full size pick-up truck, so that is what I reserved. When I arrived they gave me a tiny pick up truck. In other words, I was downgraded after paying expensive last minute thanksgiving prices. Disappointed that I was not compensated for being downgraded. Didn't have the energy to deal with asking for the correct vehicle in the garage as we were rushing to make it to thanksgiving dinner.

Service Rep was fabulous. She got a 10 out of 10!!! The Jeep was/is a death trap!!! It violently began to shake while I was on a service road. Had to coast until it stopped. Thought it was an anomaly. Was driving it back to Alamo on the freeway and it happened again. So violently, it changed the volume on the jeep's radio. Been driving for DECADES. And I have never been this shook!! This automobile needs to be CHECKED.

The pick up could have gone a little smoother, when I got ready to take the car your staff came up and apologizing saying our car was someone’s else’s car. Now the good news was you upgraded us to a much nicer SUV which we did appreciate. Other than that paying for the rental and returning when we were done went very smoothly and your staff was very helpful, thank you.

Fast access to car. Great staff. Car inspection involves marking only larger scratches and dents unlike A different car rental which made me mark every tiny one which took a bit because it was an older car. The free upgrade to the larger Jeep Cherokee was also nice. Alamo has become my preferred car rental agency

What a joke company ?? I made my reservation through south west website which I’m I will call later at 1 AM, reach their around 1: 06 minutes AM because the bus waited at least 10 minutes to pick up people and the surprise there was no one thier, called customer service with cold tone, he told me to come back tomorrow, there’s no one there. What should I use the car for the next day?? Was he sleeping while I was talking to him?? I was at Midway airport 1:00 AM with _13 temperature and asked to come back the next day? What kind of service is that? They should put note that they are going to be close at 1AM when I booked, I would never do it. They cost triple the price to rent another car last minute from another company they were thier helping thier customer! If I knew from the begging I would never rent of them, they just me making hate my trip to Chicago and want just to go back home and I’m stay 2nights, that the took half of it because it took me and hour to get another car ant wasted my time talking with thier customer service, my plan was to arrive the 40 miles that I drove by 2 but I arrived 3:15 am with no energy for my busy day. I put one star because I have to rate but if it up to me I put minuse 13 like the weather here and thier customer service. I’ve never put a bad review in my life, good job Alamo company, you made me write my firs! I’m updating my review upon there request to send an email, I can’t believe those people bad service, they even didn’t look to my reservation and took the name from email which is not my last name, also that had an excuse that I didn’t put my flight information which not non of their business and if I want to put this information there’s no place to put this info through southwest reservation website and as a company you should at least make sure that they have that space to put these info. And if your company close at 1 AM you should not accepting any reservation 30 minutes prior your closing time. Again such unprofessional company and really bad service. STAY AWAY from them.

Rented an suv for a soccer tournament to accommodate my family. Extremely great service, reasonable price, and beautiful vehicle! One of my passengers was a teen soccer player we were chaperoning as well. Our incoming flight was delayed due to storms, Alamo staff were courteous and friendly during our arrival. Flying home, our flights were cancelled and we had the option to reschedule to an earlier flight which caused a chaotic chain of events. We were stuck in Chicago’s busy traffic, had to rush from Alamo rental return to the airport baggage counter. Alamo’s rental return process was quick and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. As we got to the baggage counter our chaperoned soccer player realized his wallet was missing. We didn’t know where he could have possibly left it, at the hotel, in the rental suv, or the airport shuttle bus. Due to the short amount of time we had to get to our boarding gate, we were unable to go back and check. The poor teen was devastated as he carried a substantial amount of cash he had earned from his summer job plus his identification documents he carried in his wallet. My heart broke for this young boy but we had to get to our gate as quickly as possible as boarding was a few minutes away. I told him I would call the hotel, Alamo rental, and the airport shuttle service as soon as we got home. As we were boarding, we received a phone call and it was an Alamo employee who stated they found a wallet in our rental vehicle and immediately took down our address so they could mail it to us at no extra charge! A few days later the young teen had his wallet with all his valuables intact. I was so happy that Alamo had hired honest and friendly staff that were willing to go above and beyond to make a young teen’s flight home and ours a little more at ease! Will always rent from Alamo from now on.

Quick and efficient pickup. Only grief is that the drop off area is not at all well marked. Ended up driving through the airport loading/unloading area, and it wasn't entirely clear to leave the car on the curb when returning. That's on CID though.

We had a easy and pleasant experience picking up our car at Midway in April 2017. Personnel were professional and helpful in checking in and getting to the car. The most positive part of this experience was a phone call I received after returning home asking if we had left a cell phone in the car. Turned out to belong to my granddaughter. Catlyn of Alamo packaged and shipped the phone to our home. This makes Alamo my "go -to" car rental company going forward.

Unfortunately an Alamo employee here has taken my camera with our Disney family holiday photos on it. We were last on the complimentary bus shuttle back to our resort and left the camera on the bus in our hurry to allow the employee to return and finish his shift. Tried to call many times but no answer as they were shut. Called first thing 6am when they opened and the employee (Ron) checked the buses - nothing. He contacted the driver on his cell phone - nothing. No member of the public had been on the buses yet... Only conclusion is an employee took the camera. Very sad to think they employ a thief. :( 2 stars because the car etc was fine...

Employees work here are friendly and try to provide good customer service but their system / process is very slow or they need more training to process each rental as it took more than an hour and half to pick the car for the customers with reservation and all the paperwork handy. Not sure why it takes that looooong. Even returning the car is same; I couldn’t just drop the key and walk off they asked me to stay in line and after 30 min plus waiting I left my keys at the table and left. Hope they just charge what the correct amount. If you go there at the peak time (for both renting or returning) prepare to wait hour or more. They should definitely improve the customer experience (get in and out faster). If that means asking customer to bring more paperwork or fill more info online before hand then they should do it.

The young man in the booth at the DAY airport was exceptional in my opinion. My experience renting in DAY in Feb was beyond satisfactory due to the young man in the booth recommending a particular vehicle after telling him my travel destination. My second time renting in June, this same young man went above and beyond, in my opinion, to locate the same type of vehicle he had suggested in Feb with minimum miles. I usually fly into CVG and always rent with Alamo but with this type of service DAY will be my first choice due to the outstanding service I received from Alamo representative in the booth.

It was a quick process but confusing picking up the car. The young lady worked in the garage was the nicest ever (wish I would have caught her name). She let me choose which car I wanted out of the compact group (that was pretty dope). And she helped me with getting my luggage in the car because she saw I was traveling with an infant. If anyone is checking, it was around 9am on 12/10/16. I don't like how the service agent at the desk told me I had to get Roadside assistance just because I got collision coverage. This requirement varies depending on what agent I complete my registration with. Seems like fraudulent business practices to me... But I didn't have energy to debate this. I don't need your roadside assistance, Alamo. I have AAA, Allstate, and Good Sam's already. Why do I need to sign two separate lines if roadside is mandatory with collision damage waiver coverage...? I'll wait...

I occasionally rent a vehicle and Alamo at MDW (Midway airport) is my company of choice. The staff there are very accommodating and assist in making the rental process fast and easy. My last rental I was even able to use a free upgrade I received for my birthday which was back in April which I didn't think I was going to be able to use in November. It working was another check in the plus column. I want to especially thank Ruby at the reservation counter. I usually rent a vehicle on a Sunday and she is there with a great attitude and a smile. If Alamo can reward her with the occasional Sunday off for a job well done that would be another plus in my book for this company.

I rented a van at the Disney Car Center in Orlando and noticed after a few miles the tires were almost flat. Drove back to have them repaired and there were no tires there for the model. There were no other vans to exchange. The manager came out try to have the van replaced. She was very professional and patient though it was chaotic with people on January 1. She was able to find a replacement vehicle that would fit us and our luggage. She even put in a free tank of gas for our troubles. I wish I remember her name and if you read this....thank you and we will be back!!

We had a great experience with Alamo Rental Car. We needed the car to go to Florida at the last minute the staff is very friendly and made it all work. Are Vehicles clean and safe we made it to Florida and back without any issues. Be wise and make sure that you fill the tank before you return it if you think the price of gas is high now you'll soon be shocked if you do not top off at tank.

We originally had plans to get a car before arriving to our WDW Resort, but when I found out there was an Alamo on site we opted to wait until our trip was over to pick it up! Not only was it cheaper than airport pick-up we didn't have to go through the headache of obtaining transportation back to pickup the rental! The customer service reps were wonderful! Arranging the shuttle to pick up was flawless and it made our trip EASY! Thanks Alamo for having this location on site!!!

Bill went from $58.18 to $105.15!!!!!! Worst experience. I tried to call the Idaho Falls office to talk to a manager. All I got was resistance and opposition. Employee would't even put manager on phone. I drove from Idaho Falls to Salt Lake but got charged 2 days on a car seat (that was included in my reservation), got a mysterious $17.00, $1.90, $7.72. What in the heck is a "License Recovery" fee or "Concession Recoup Fee"? How does a 3 hour trip get charged 2 days!!!! Car seat was FILTHY!!! I looked to be 10 years old and of course they didn't even know if it was Federally Compliant (BECAUSE WHY WOULD THEY CARE ABOUT SOMEBODY ELSE'S CHILD). If you expect your reservation to mean anything....think again. Get ready for surprise charges!!!! I only give them a 1 because 0 is not an option. Perhaps the online community could provide a better explanation than the unwilling staff. UPDATE: After posting my complaint on Facebook, Google, and Twitter, the Twitter team reached out to me. I sent them copies of my reservation and payment receipt. Within 15 minutes of the Twitter team reaching out to me the Idaho Falls manager called me to refund me. Therefore I'm changing my rating from 1 star to 2 stars.

I reserved a 15-passenger van last week for a company outing that was to be picked up at 8:00 am this morning. After receiving an email yesterday confirming the 8:00 am pick up time my boss went to get the van this morning at which point they told him it wouldn't be there until later that morning and that they had left a message yesterday saying as such. No message was received at my phone, my bosses phone, or at our office. My boss then canceled the rental because it would do us no good later in the morning, at which point they tried to charge him a cancellation fee. Additionally there was a $250 deposit I was not told about, and a fee to put on an extra driver that was not disclosed even after I called and asked about adding a driver. In short I reserved through Alamo because it was the cheapest (by only $18) but I would not ever do so again. Very unprofessional from start to finish.

We were very impressed with Alamo car rental in Lihue on our most recent trip to Kauai! Staff was absolutely awesome, friendly and helpful and their automated system was quick and easy to use, allowing us to avoid the check in line. We were in and out in 15 minutes and even got a brand new Jeep!! A very good experience and our best since coming to the island for the last 6 years. We will definitely be using Alamo again!

The best car rental company choice on Kauai! The employees are helpful, friendly, and not pushy. They always have the car class I rented or are quick to upgrade when they don't. I've been forced to wait over an hour at Budget for a car to become available. More than once! Alamo is the way to go and their prices are always competitive, too.

Bait and switch. Don't rent a car from Alamo . After you make your reservation and check in you think you'll be all set. But at the counter they'll hit you with extra fees...and a too bad take it or leave it attitude. The customer service representative over the phone was no help so don't waist your time....

Our experience with Alamo was incredibly disappointing, especially as I usually go with another rental company which I regularly enjoy. The employees were incredibly rude and seemed disinclined to help. On arriving to Florida for a family vacation we were excited and enthusiastic, characteristics that were not shared by those helping us. Traveling with a large group can be difficult, especially with multiple reservations. The agent was impatient and confused the situation further. On returning the car next week, we look forward to better customer service, or unfortunately this will be the last time we use Alamo.

Car broke down due to worn parts and wheel bearing issues. We waited over 4 hours for a tow. Customer service didn’t dispatch a tow until an hour a half after we called, assuming it was only a flat tire and couldn’t find our location on the only highway/main road that goes around the island. The island we stayed on can be driven in in full in two hours, but we waited all day for a tow truck.

I had a poor experience with this location. Returned my rental and it took the individual checking it in 15 minutes because his scanner was not functioning. He gave me a receipt with fuel charges but I returned the vehicle with a full tank as this was already agreed upon. Then the shuttle driver wasn’t allowing enough time for people to get onto the shuttle nor did he call for people going to the airport. As soon as he dropped off people arriving to pick up their rental, he’d shut the doors and drive off and so one would assume a different shuttle would pick us up. The whole ordeal led to me missing my flight. Alamo did offer 2 days of car rentals after having the poor experience but this was only after I repeatedly requested 3 based on the expenses I incurred after having to stay an additional day. My experience with the alamo in Kalahui, Maui was completely different. They were great.

Great staff from call center reservation questions to online booking but it doesn't stop there pick up counter at MDW airport in Chicago was a breeze and even when the particular vehicle I wanted wasn't available they let ME chose a replacement not give me options of their choosing followed up by fast friendly return ....and of course the best price from the beginning!! That's why I chose them in the first place we were on a tight budget but needed a vehicle to accommodate 5 adult men and belongings.....I definitely will be a return customer...

I booked thru hot wire was quoted a price.. went down to the midway location where there's good reviews. Stood in line customer ahead is booking his car.. Terrible experience with Alamo at Disney car care center. They had the wrong car for us. So, we waited 45 more minutes for an 8 passenger Suburban that ended up being a 7 passenger Suburban. They claimed that they were getting an 8 passenger Suburban from another lot they had but never checked it out to verify that it was an 8 passenger. As a result, we were late for our kids Disney Experience at Disney Springs. We had to drive a 7 passenger vehicle for 8 people for a entire day and then come back early the next morning to pick up an 8 passenger Suburban. Mind you, I called that day and four times before that to verify that I would be getting an 8 passenger Suburban. I will not rent from them again! 0 out of 5 stars!

This was an easy and very satisfactory rental in most respects. Pick-up at airport was prompt, with quick check-in and delivery to cars; rental cars were great; return was quick and easy. All Alamo personnel were friendly and helpful. My only complaint/request was the inability to rent two ca, and needed both a mini van and an intermediate car to accommodate two car seats and different itineraries of different days. It would have been helpful to rent them both under one name, since we all arrived together and I wanted to put them both on one credit card. I was told, however, that I couldn't rent two cars, so we had to have the two cars rented by two different people, even though they were both paid for by my credit card.

First I need to say that I have rented a lot of cars from many different companies and Alamo has by far the BEST staff working for them. Each person I came across that worked at this Alamo location was so friendly and helpful. As you can imagine, after you been traveling all day the car rental people are often the last to get you and it was nice to have such great service. With that said, my car was a bit lack luster. We did get upgraded because they were out of midsize cars which was nice, but the car we chose was pretty dirty and drove really rough. Every bump we took it was clear the suspension really needed to be worked on. I realize we could have chosen another car based on how Alamo lets you select your car, but this was the one that fit our child's car seat the best. Yes, when I get the chance I will for sure use Alamo at Midway airport again. I just hope we get a cleaner and more smooth ride.

Attempted to rip me off, but was put right after I complained. I arrived at the Disney Car Care depot using the courtesy shuttle which was prompt and clean. The assistant at the desk offered an upgrade almost as an opening line - I said no - thanks, I prebooked a fullsize, so should be fine. Once I'd turned down the kind offer of every possible type of extra, I walked out looking for my was Tiny! - Think UK Ford Focus size - certainly not what I would call Fullsize. I had no choice to return back inside to the office and basically be held to ransom and pay around another £20 per day for a larger car - there was no way our baggage was going to fit into this little car. Its only when I was licking my wounds back at the hotel that I checked what classification the car was that they tried to give was a mid size, not a full-size. This angered me as I had been forced to upgrade when really I should never had needed too. After a few calls to customer care and a case being raised, I was contacted by the orlando office 1 week later and offered all the additional charges for the upgrade back on to my card with a full apology which was fair enough....I just wonder how many other people have fallen foul of this scam?!

I would like to complement the staff at the Kauai Alamo location. They were very accommodating and helpful. I left a backpack in one of the rental cars they put it aside and took special care of it until it was possible for me to retrieve it. We rented a toddler car seat and they showed us how to install it properly. They are a group of professionals and a great to work with. Thanks again. I rented vehicles more than 100 times but never had this kind of bad experience , especially with the branch manager. Very rude , no listening skills , no common sense and a filthy attitude with all lies. I made a one way reservation for full size SUV 6 weeks ago , I called the on the day of my reservation location to make sure I am going to get similar car , they said they don’t have full size SUV but was promised to provide something similar with price adjustment. When I went there, that manager doesn’t want to give me SUV their employees offered, instead she said there are no cars ( a BIG lie) available and only one available is a Mini Van, I explained her that I paid for Full Size SUV and not want to drive & pay same price for Mini van. She said take it or leave , and that too she said with no price adjustment as Mini Van and Full Size SUV is same price (another BIG lie). As my travel planned ahead of time, I decided to take that Mini van for the same price as Full Size SUV, when they got the car it was not cleaned and after driving half way I got oil change mainatenance light & the driver side seat belt malfunctioned, they basically want to get rid of an old , not working vehicle out of their location instead of giving me what I have reserved. Other bad reviews on this location speaks a lot about the employees and manager, I love Alamo in general as they have great customer focused approach but locations like this will only ensure they lose repeating customers. DONT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION !!!

I rented a luxury car at both Kauai and Maui and you had no luxury car at either location. I'm sure you feel you met your obligation by giving me a Cadillac Escalade at both locations. However, it was like driving a tank that guzzled gasoline and was difficult to park in downtown parking lots in Maui. When I rent a car and pay for it in advance and you know when I am arriving and what I paid for why is there no luxury car ? What if a hotel did the same thing to their cliental? If you want my business in the future you need to do much better because this has happened to me in Florida, Lake Tahoe, etc. Just give me what I paid for, nothing more, nothing less.

I don't care if you guys were going to charge me an extra day I could covered it , is the ATTITUDE of this disrespectful guy who didn't want to listen my explanation and besides yell in my face (I have the print out specifying the pickup and return of the car so, I was not wrong), what happened at the moment of rental? and why my requirements were changed from what I specify on my on line check in? who's fault is it I don't know? what I know is that I am the customer and if I wan to rent whole days or partials is what I ask for not whatever an attendant wants to give me, I planned the rental this way because we have a late flight that night and an extra half day at the Disney parks. I hope you pay more attention to the people you hire for this positions they are supposed to be there to assist you and not to treat you in a rude and rough ruthless way. I rented an almost new (3000 mi.) Nissan Versa for our Kauai vacation. The car performed well and got right at 40mpg, a big plus. The only aspect that could be improved would be to include an owners manual. These cars have new technology functions that are not familiar with many of us and leave us puzzling how to operate them. Like, I didn't know that my car had an overdrive function, something I haven't seen since my 57 chev, and didn't find out for five days. The screen display was virtually useless without a guide, so we just ignored it. Altogether tho, the car served our purpose, and the service was excellent.

I rented a minivan in Orlando for a family vacation to Disney and had to leave early to visit my grandfather on his deathbed. I secured a second rental with Southwest through Alamo. The kiosk for Alamo had no one in it and after a 15 minute investigation as to why there wasn't anyone there I found the Alamo rental people were actually standing at the NATIONAL Car rental kiosk. I signed my paperwork at the airport at almost 1 am when my flight arrived. They gave me a "free upgrade". When I proceeded to the gate to leave the man at the booth asked me if I had another car with Alamo. I explained the situation and he tells me the lady that did my paperwork should have known that I couldn't rent two cars at the same time. I told him my families vacation was ending the next day and they would be returning the other car. At this point all the other rental car places in the Airport closed and they left me stranded at the Airport in the garage with no other means of transportation to get to my grandfather. If the lady at the counter did her job right I could have at least rented from a different provider before they all closed. Now I sit at the airport for 5 hours to wait for the other car rental companies to open to get a vehicle. I wouldn't recommend these heartless people to anyone.

Very bad experience. I booked my rental through the southwest app with no warning of hours or time constraints. I booked for a 1 am pick up. We left Denver 40 minutes delayed. Arrive at midway and take the shuttle to pick up our vehicle. When we arrived at the shuttle desk it appeared closed with instructions to go upstairs and the manager would take care of us. When we got upstairs at 1:45am we were greeted by a kind security guard that informed us the manager was on break and would be back at 2:30 am and there was nothing that could be done because they are union workers. So on top of our already 40 minute delay me and my pregnant wife get to sit in a parking garage for another 45 minutes in the middle of the night because they are not properly staffed. Not acceptable and cannot recommend.

Quick, simple, and friendly. We used Thrifty on our last trip and found Alamo to be much better this time. We didnt have to go over terms and conditions for an hour, they didn't push extra insurance, and when we signed the papers we were told to go pick whichever Jeep (free upgrade) we liked. Return was even easier. No extra fees. Plus they run their airport shuttles much quicker so you're never standing in the heat waiting with your luggage!

I have been a loyal Alamo renter for years. I reserved 2 cars last Tuesday for this location on Jimmy Carter Blvd. ( I forgot to cancel one). I reserved a full size and a premium car for pickup on the same day. I arrived to pick up the premium car and to cancel the other reservation and they had NO cars at their location. They then tired to offer me a SUV for an upcharge. After I declined they then tired to offer me a Dodge Journey which i declined as well. ( I reserved a car for size, gas mileage purposes and because i was driving alone.) After waiting for close to 45 minutes they got on the phone to try an find a car. They then found a car getting an oil change at the Firestone which the unprofessional customer service agent wanted me to wait for and then wait for them to clean it once they got back. (This was also during rush hour traffic). So after waiting for an hour I got so upset and left without a vehicle after I had to catch a ride there which was 35 minutes away from my home. I also had a similar experience at the Riverdale location last year and this location has closed. It seems like I only get great service at the airport.

Please avoid this place at all cost. Rented a van returned it the next day, called them for my receipt, and a lady told me she will send it. After 3 days I got a call from them asking me how long I’m going to keep the van? Wow! Kidding me! I told them I returned it 3 days ago. They put me on hold, recheck and they found it. To my surprise, a lady who claim she is a manager has the guts to tell me their records shows I just returned the van. She came to conclusion that, there is nothing she can do, so she will charge my card for those days. I pointed it to her I even called for my receipts, she then told me it shows that I called but no one at the office claim I talked to them. Please be very careful when renting from this place. To me they’re not serious doing their work. The bottom line is that they did charge my credit card like she said even up to now still didn’t sent me the receipt. Again if possible avoid this place.

Another great experience with Alamo! I was in-and-out of Midway in just minutes with the self-serve Kiosk and the selection of SUVs was decent. They gave me a larger SUV even though I had only subscribed to a compact SUV. Always exceptional customer service. The Alamo/Enterprise/National group never lets me down. We had prepaid for our rental car, but when we dropped off the car there was a $404 additional charge. I knew we would have to pay for taxes and other charges that were not included (about $100). The on site manager said that when I went through the self serve kiosk upon checking out the car I had signed up for a $31.99 a day incidental fee. I was totally unaware I had done that. The manager said I was legally bound to pay that fee since I signed the contract. She went above and beyond her duties and waived that fee. We had a 10 day rental. My wife and I were very pleased with how they handled the situation. We would highly recommend them.

We received a speedy pickup at the terminal, nobody was in line at the counter (it was before 7AM) so we breezed through the paperwork. They did not hammer us to buy additional collision insurance, just initials and signature. A security guard in the Alamo "garage" found an employee for us. We had pick of the litter and chose a 2016 Camry. After PERFECT service from the Alamo staff, we got a crappy car. It shook and vibrated so hard, my Fitbit watch recorded it as physical activity! I got over 7500 steps one day while driving. Even with perfect service from the bus driver and counter person, the CAR is the product I needed most. The return process was equally efficient and polite, but the return bus driver offered little assistance with bags. I rent cars 6 or 7 times a year, and never had such a lazy driver. I still like Alamo and will rent from them again, but I was on a tight schedule during the pick up process and had to be 100 miles away in a short amount of time. I have never rented such an annoying car...

There was some confusion between the online/phone information and the in house customer service reps on what back up documents were needed with my debit card payment. It would be nice if they could be more consistent. The online/phone info said I needed a non past due utility bill, but when I got there she asked for my travel itinery. The rep was helpful and worked through it, but I was worried for a bit. Also, maybe explaining the toll road situation in orlando/florida at the onset of my renting the car would have been VERY helpful. I went through a toll area in tampa that was charged to the car and I didnt know about it till I was already through the area. Otherwise...the car was fabulous, the shuttle was good and the process was seamless other than those details.

Very disappointed in the car and the service we received! The shuttle ride was great both ways but after that the staff was rude and the car was awful. Sent out in the yard to search out the car ourselves - no inspection or help. All the settings in the car were in Spanish and there was no way to change them because there was a malfunction with the buttons to affect changes, the passenger side vanity mirror was shattered, clock didn't even work and couldn't be changed!!! We used Alamo because it's a great service from the resorts but we will definitely look at other options on our next trip!

Midway Airport - Service was friendly enough. They answered my questions as I went through the process. They did not have a standard economy vehicle with NO bells or whistles ready for me, so they gave me a courtesy upgrade. Friendly little man on return, as well. The only issues that I encountered consisted of the "low tire pressure" light and the question of which card they were going to charge. The tire pressure light shouldn't have been on (I pulled over in haste to check the pressure which came back with the right numbers), plus, it was only at 2300 miles when I had it. The card they charged was the one I bought my plane ticket with, but when I got to the rental area in Midway, they asked for my credit card and I asked to make sure that the car was charged to THE CARD I handed them on arrival. They told me that would be fine, but they still charged the other card. This wasn't a huge issue since I get reimbursed for work, but I could see how that would have been a travesty for someone who's boss isn't as kind or compassionate as mine is. For as small as the issues I had were, they definitely deserve four stars, and I will DEFINITELY come back when visiting Midway... and possibly all my trips going forward.

I just completed my second car rental from Alamo at Dayton International Airport. On both rentals, I got a great rate, cheaper than "the other guys" where I normally rent, and great service as well. Josh, a customer service agent where the cars are picked up and returned, does an outstanding, and tries to make a good match between the customer and the car and makes sure the customer is satisfied, both at the beginning of the rental, and upon return. For that kind of price and service, I'm going to be switching over to Alamo for my rental car needs.


This was my first time ever renting a car. I received excellent service. Alamo picked me up at my Disney resort hotel and dropped me off after I returned the car. I was offered an upgrade and took it. The car was in pristine condition. It took less than 15 minutes when I went to pick up the car and less than 5 to drop it off. I signed up as a rewards member before my trip and that helped speed up the process. I would highly recommend using Alamo.

Not at all impressed. 1) vehicles are disgustingly old and rusted. 2) we rented a specific type of vehicle, paying $1100, and they gave us a completely different vehicle type, calling it an upgrade (it was NOT). Requested vehicle we PAID FOR, and they said they didn’t have any... 3) they said they would DELIVER us the proper vehicle the next day as they had no other vehicles and we had to drive 45 mins away to our villa. They said they would call between 8:30 and 9:00 am. This was all articulated clearly. They then NEVER called. We contacted them. And they denied ever saying this

Absolutely terrible. Booked an online reservation for a vehicle to be picked up at 1AM (I am fully aware closing time says 1am online). However, the flight was delayed by a half hour and there were employees for TWO other companies still there. When I arrived there were zero Alamo employees to be found- yet Hertz and Avis still had someone working, so I can only assume employees MUST be able to see arriving flights and times. There were SEVERAL people with Alamo reservations for a 1am pickup who were left stranded at 2 in the morning with no other options. The two other employees who were there disclosed that Alamo employees ALWAYS leave early and customers are frequently disappointed and end up having to rent a vehicle from them. Unfortunately for us, the other two companies were completely sold out of inventory. Ended up having to find an Uber WILLING to drive (45min) across state lines at that time of night to take me to my destination for a total of $90. Will never take the chance in booking with Alamo again and risk being stranded in the middle of the night. I will gladly pay the company next door DOUBLE so long as I’m guaranteed a safe ride home.

I reserved through Costco Travel which was a painless experience. When I arrived at Midway, I made my way to the rental car area. There weren't too many people waiting. The one person at the Alamo counter was helping a customer. One of the National associates assisted me. He was very friendly and professional. He got me through the process quickly. I went to get my car and the lady that greeted me at the elevator was also friendly. She showed me where the car was and sent me on my way. The car was clean and in great condition. I had no issues with it at all. I would definitely rent from Alamo at Midway airport again.

Rented a Mustang convertible. Had made the res via Costco. Easy check in, very efficient. Had to wait about 5 mins for them to bring car because they didn't have one ready. No big deal for us. Car was clean. Easy to put top down although had to figure it out. I rec that the lot people demo how to do that for those renting convertibles before letting them go or at least asking them if they'd like a demo. Very strong car. We've rented Cameron convertible before. Can't put the top down and use the trunk! But in the Mustang full trunk can be used even with top down. A major plus

Alamo bent over backward to help us. Our flight was late and by the time we got to Shades of Green, the Alamo office was closed. We had to go to another location to connect with the driver but we were late getting there also. The agent stayed , waiting on us. When we finally arrived, it was a quick deal and we were given an upgrade into a beautiful car and finally we were on our way! This was our first time renting from Alamo but it won't be our last! Very, very pleased!

Shuttle service was timely and driver was friendly. Check-in took less than 5 minutes (was early in the morning and not crowded). Rented a van, however, all the available vans on the property were dirty inside and out. Muddy tires and rims and layer of dirt on the vehicles. The van we chose was the cleanest on the inside, but once we started going and ran the air conditioner the kids were complaining of an animal feces like smell; they said it reminded them of the Rhino exhibit at the zoo. The smell faded after airing the car out for 30 minutes...or we just got acclimated to the smell.

I picked up my car late, 11pm, and the low tire pressure light was on. The girl walked around the car and said they look the same to me. The next day my sister got into the back seat and when I pulled my seat forward there was a starbucks coffee cup and lid in the floorboard. The cars are not as clean as they used to be and the last time I rented there was only 1/2 tank of gas in the car. I immediately called and had to convince the clerk that I wasn't making it up.

They close the inside counter down early so you have to pick up your rental car from outside. I think it's ridiculous to force customers to stand outside in the cold, I was there in the middle of winter, for absolutely no reason at all. The other rental car providers were inside, where it was warm, so this process rubbed me the wrong way. The Alamo employees were nice and helpful but the long lines in the cold were irritating and made the experience unfavorable.

I like the Alamo Rent a Car people in Dayton. I rented a “surprise” vehicle for a great rate. And when my flight was delayed for 24 hours from Sunday to Monday evening, they extended my rental at the weekend rates, no expensive surprises. I will definitely rent from them again.

DO NOT RENT HERE!!! If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The level of stupid here is incredible. The light skinned guy and the branch manager, Clay Nurse, are arrogant and incompetent on so many levels for absolutely no reason. I walked into this store after having paid for a $47 Lyft to get there and in a rush to get to my 12pm appt across town. I arrived at Alamo around 10:30am. I have never rented with Alamo before so things were different. I had to get a different reservation because of a misunderstanding. Irritating, but no biggie. The young lady finds me a new reservation for 3 days so I can make some decisions moving forward. Originally I was renting for 5.5 weeks. She gets on her cell phone to take a call (which isn't the most professional, but whatever) so she "passes" me off to her teammate, the light skinned guy. It has been like 35 min at this point. This guy never makes eye contact, never says good morning, no manners at all. Whatever. Your attitude is duly noted, sir. He asks for a million and one documents to prove that I am who I say I am and I live where I say I live. Never had this happen before with a rental car. If this is the store policy, cool, but I don't work for Alamo, soooo naturally, asking me for so many personal documents is weird for me, I'm getting uncomfortable and frustrated at this point. Regardless of my growing anxiety, I still get the documents. I asked him ONE freaking question: "Do you need a second form of documentation for my school address?" He asked for 2 forms of documentation for my permanent address so I think he may need 2 for my second address. A reasonable conclusion right? So he is completely silent for several seconds and rolls his eyes. I literally just stand there and wait for him to respond. Finally he says, "Ma'am you have been rude since you got in here. You have an attitude for no reason." What? I'm confused. You weren't here when I got here dude. I just looked at him and said "All I asked was if you need 2 forms of identification documents for 1 address, would you not need 2 for the second address? Tell me all I need to get for you so I can get it at one time." Now the manager steps in, Clay Nurse. Arrogance on this piece of work is really a site to see. So now he decides he wants to "help" me. How many reps does it take to rent a car? So now he is asking for original documentation from my insurance company saying that it has to be emailed to Alamo directly from my car insurance company. Okay, Clay. So now I'm on the phone with my insurance company. Here we are 1 hour later. Still no car. Clay decides he is going to call a "special number" where he gets in touch with someone immediately and is able to verify my car insurance. So now an email isn't required? Okay, whatever. Finally, we are at the end of the process. Clay swipes my credit card, charges pop up immediately. Okay. I ask one final question, "How come your last rep couldn't answer the address question?" Clay goes OFF. He tells me that I need to be more understanding of his rep's position and realize "he just clocked into work" and I am giving him a hard time when he just got here for the day. He proceeds to tell me that I have to "check [my] attitude" because "realistically I don't even have to rent you a car, that's my decision. Matter of fact, I'm just going to cancel your reservation." Oh my favorite quote from Clay for the day, "We can't do anything about your frustrations, we can only do our job." Um, what?? I am frustrated....because your job wasn't done. I never raised my voice, used profanities, nor used any obscene or excessive hand gestures. I ended up having to go to Avis near by and wait for a car to come available there for 2 hours. I totally missed my appt. I had a headache I was so angry. I filed SEVERAL complaints about this experience with no call back from the company. I will be reporting this location to the BBB. And I will keep filing complaints with until I get a response.

Was a nice clean car. Had a reservation the kiosk at Midway wouldn't read my license but when I got to an agent it went fast and without troubles. Only thing I wondered was it's a new car why no key fob or keyless entry. Assumed it was a lower end car. Friday night I wondered why everytime I stick the Jey in the door lock the trunk opens. Finally turned the key over........integrat in fob. Other then that no problem at all. Drop off was super easy also. I'd use Alamo again.

Had a great experience. Only negative point was...I paid for a tank of gas so I didn't have to fill tank before returning. If Alamo uses less gas than I paid for, they DO NOT refund the unused money. Other rental companies I have used refund the unused "gas" money to your credit card.

Here's how it happened for us, in detail. Did our online search for coupons, promos and discounts over a week and Alamo came the cheapest, as always. We needed the car for 6 days so we rented for one week since weekly rental is cheaper. We were doing long distance travel so we went for an economy car since its high MPG makes the trip significantly cheaper. They day of pickup I Was running late so I called the branch and kindly asked them to wait for me for 5 minutes after the closing hour on a Saturday night and they did. I arrived on time (5 minutes late) and the agent cheered me without any concern about me being late. However, they did not have an economy car leaving me with two choices: take a minivan or a pickup truck for the same price or upgrade for a premium with extra $10/day. Quick calculation: $70 extra for premium car or pay ~$70 as extra gas... went for the premium for sure. But when changing my reservation, the agent said that it was actually $15/day extra, so another $35 for me + tax, which I took but this time with being little unhappy, because not having the economy car is Alamo's fault and the upgrade should rather be FREE. Anyway, the car itself was brand new, it did an avg MPG of 32, and our trip was enjoyable. Thanks Alamo.

After many trips to Kauai and beyond, this was the BEST car renting experience by a long shot in my life. From the quick, efficient and friendly rental to the return. While we were going through security at the airport my son realized he left his wallet in the car. The entire staff went above and beyond to find my sons prized wallet and send it back to us. Third consecutive time I have had problems with Alamo rental. This time it was a flat tire. Phone number for roadside assistance on carry out envelope was a promotion company trying to sell a vacation package. Very frustrating when you are trying to get help. Then when I did someone on the phone I was told there would be a charge for assistance unless I have purchased the roadside assistance option. I was never told about the roadside assistance when I rented the vehicle. Going back to Hertz #1 Gold Club.

The agent at this location was not too helpful. I rented a vehicle using my debit card and proof of my round trip train ticket. He initially refused to service me because I didn't have a round trip flight. After reading what your website clearly states, renter must show proof of round trip TRAVEL TICKET, in regards to renting to a vehicle with a debit card as a form of payment he still refused to fully service me. Even though the site listed bus, train, plane, boat, etc. I asked for a manager who never came to the counter but corrected the situation over the phone. I chose to take the Ford Fusion vehicle that was available and it was terrible. The car would not sync to my phone. The USB port was a HUGE inconvenience. It wouldn't allow my music to stream from my phone to the radio. It would not hold a charge for my phone. Initially I assumed it was my cord so I purchased a new one and it was due to the malfunction of the USB port. I was not close to the airport so taking the car was not an option. It was a very bad experience. I am a UAW member and I will be posting about this horrible experience with my union brothers and sisters. The customer service was horrible and the car selection wasn't a good thing either

CR Airport had given out all the standard size to other people before I showed up and downgraded me rather than upgrade me. I called customer service after picking the vehicle up and they arranged a switch to the correct size saying there were three vehicles available. When I dropped the vehicle off, the rental place had done the same thing and given all the vehicles away to other people. We ended up getting a minivan, after I complained, instead of what I ordered. Not so much an Alamo problem but the rental service they deal with needs to have some sort of disciplinary action taken against them for doing this type of thing to Alamo's customers.

I reserved the compact car at least a week in advance, checked through the counter and after I went to the garage was told they only had SUVs and Minivans available. They had no plan for compensating for the additional gas expense and the only option given was to cancel the contract. When I indicated I would take the cancel of contract offer but needed a ride back to my house they told me I was on my own for that cost. None of these options seem customer oriented. Of course the price of the rental car was great and after a few minutes of frustration a Camry became available. Not quite a compact car but it did average 38 mpg.

I had a cancelled flight followed by delays. All that I needed from this counter was confirmation that I would still be able to pick up a car originally reserved for 8:30 if the new flight arrived before midnight. They will not answer their telephone at their posted (319) phone number. It switched to voicemail and nobody returned the call. They had several hours to do so. I then called their toll-free C.S. number and ended up with a call center (in India?) with somebody that wanted to speak to me using a script and direct me back to the CID counter. Cancelled reservation.

Check in at the baggage claim level is quick and efficient; rental cars are on the ground floor of the parking garage just a short walk from the entrance of the main building; the vehicles are always clean and ready to go; and the staff, both checking out and checking back in, are friendly and professional.

I really appreciated the customer services at Alamo Car Rental at Midway Airport, Chicago. I made my reservation through Costco car rental site. I reserved a regular SUV, but my Jeep Grand Cherokee had unpleasant smell. I asked to change a different car, Nathan Ruzich, Branch Manager, gave me a Cadillac XTS without extra charges. (This is luxury car) while swapping out, I forgot my Maui Jim prescription sunglasses in the Jeep. Dion Davis was very helpful, he asked his people tracking them for me.. Thanks to Dion and his crew. Thank you very much, Nathan, for a beautiful SUV, my family and I enjoyed it very much with all its luxurious features. Thus was my first trip to Aurora, Illinois. I didn’t know there were many toll stops on the way. Some of them take coins only, and some of them placed off the highway. I tried to pay them online but I didn’t get through. After 3 days in Aurora, I believed I crossed over 10 toll stops. When I came back to the airport to return the car. I spoke to Eli Anderson, Branch Manager. He told me he will take care of the tolls, I don’t have to worry about it. This is my first time to write a review about car rentals on Google. I wish I could give Alamo Car Rental 10*. They made our trip easy and enjoyable. Much more than that, they treated us with much appreciation and care. Thanks Alamo! We wish you guys much success in this business. Going forward, I won’t use any other car rental company but Alamo. Cheers

This place is very special. I made a reservation, left work early to pick it up. When I got there they would not rent to me because I was not renting with a credit card and my bill had a late charge two months ago. Now their website clearly states you cannot have a past due balance. I thought I did my homework so I would not have any problems. The deposit was no problem, but denying my rental for such nonsense was a waste of my time. Normally, most companies would leave it up to the managers discretion. But he, the manager said it would not pass the audit. Either update your website or change your policy. So my advice is renter be ware if you do not have a credit card. They will treat you like your less than worthy to rent from them. Enterprise gave me no problems but the rate was higher.

While he did everything but what's he was supposed to be doing. While I provided all my paperwork to rent the vehicle Mr.Page created his own policy by saying a water bill isn't direct. Because it comes through the complex I live. And he said it was a sewer bill. Mr. Page never seen a water bill! . But I put it together Tom when you saw me you immediately start talking about cars being stole. You never address me by my name. I'm not your brother I don't know you. I never had any issues with this place. That's because no one created there own policy. So what you did by refusing to rent me the car had nothing to do with policy. You created your own rule. By saying a bill isn't direct ,when all my information is on the bill. You profiled me, you thougt I fit the description of a thief. But I was legit. Rented a Jeep from Alamo over Christmas break. Got a very favorable rate. I did the skip the line thing beforehand so went directly from the shuttle to picking up the vehicle. Had to wait 5 minutes while it was being washed and gassed up. Otherwise no problems. Return was quick and easy. Would highly recommend!

Not open as late as they say they will be open. Only one person working their sister company Enterprise's counter on lallapalooza weekend. It's 1:30 a.m. and 30 people in line. You didn't see this coming? Oh and I wrote this review prematurely. 10 minutes later we were informed that they were out of cars. We reserved a car! And so did the 30 other people in line who didn't get a car. Wow. What a company.

What a great experience; you are picked up at your hotel, friendly staff greets you and when you return there is a 24 hour gas station in the same parking lot. They check you out of the vehicle in not time flat and return you to your hotel - I will always use them if I need a car while at Disney.

Well to start off we rent a car every time we go on vacation, so again we did the same, we are members of costco so we get a good discount and they show us the best price, we went with Alamo and the lady at the front counter could not be more insulting, I had an issue with my CC but of course she was insinuating that i was just a cheep bastard. I asked her to take the pre-paid gas off and run again but she did not do that just ran the card again,(must have been trying to get her bonus points) Told me to step aside and call my card company, but nobody behind me. my cell phone was broken so I had to go all the way back home to call. came back she finaly ran it and went through but she warned me this would be the last timeif it did not go through this time would be done. but anyway we got the van got home as we were loading it up we notice the doors not working and the van was dirty. my wife had to wash the inside of the winshild just so that we could see while we were driving at night. called about the doors did not want to get charged for that one. the manager called and left a messge. remember my phone died. when I finaly got a new one two days later I called her back that was friday, today is tuesday still have not heard from her. when I turned the car in told the guy about it and he said thats to bad, are we doing any kind of compensation, told him not sure so just run my card, in the hopes the manager will call never did.

I've been renting through Alamo since 2013, and I've never had a problem. You can choose the car you want to rent within the selected car size, or scale up or down depending on your needs. They always work with you, and they don't make renting a car an issue like other rental places (utility bills, overly large deposits, etc.). Easy process and friendly staff.

I will never rent from this company again. When I first got my rental it had the strongest smell of cigarette smoke. It took 2 days of airing to get the smell out. Than on the way back to town to drop off the rental there was a terrible accident that had traffic still for 3 hours. I call Alamo to see about dropping the rental off 1-2 hours late. The first repsentative was not listening to me. I literally had to ask her is she listening cause she didn’t respond. She couldn’t even explain to me the price break down. After being frustrated with someone who wasn’t listening and could not explain anything I requested to speak to a manager. Speaking with a manager only made things worst. He couldn’t explain anything either than in the middle of the conversation he disconnected the call. Shock that a manger could disconnect a call like that. I had to call back and speak with Someone else that was helpful. The customer service I received was TERRIBLE and I will NOT do business with this company again.

My family rented two cars from this company, a Jeep and ford. They both broke down while we were driving it. We called the company explaining that in the Jeep we didn’t feel safe driving it because the breaks weren’t working properly. They kept breaking while we were trying to drive it. The company said that it was going to take 2-3 hours for them to get a tow truck to us when we were only 30 minutes away from the rental company and they told us there was nothing else they could do to help us. So we had to figure out how to get the car working temporarily to take it back to them. Thankfully they were nice and let us take a different car. But when the ford broke down, the battery died in it and we called them asking to get it jump started and they were going to charge us $70 for them to come jump start their POS car they gave to us. There were no lights on or doors open so how it died so quickly for only using it for 40 minutes then leaving it in a parking lot for an hour and a half doesn’t make any sense. But the company was NOT willing to help us and they provided awful service to us. Thankfully a local helped us jump start it but the company was not willing to give us a different car that was more reliable. What a cheap company. Do not rent from them if you don’t want to spend half of your vacation stranded in the car because of their awful service and not being able to maintain the cars they have for the safety of the people renting them.

I easily reserved a 7-passenger van online for a family vacation on Kauai for the busy Easter weekend. I did an advance check in online with no issues. Convenient, easy and fast! I was picked up right on time at our Disney World Resort. It took 10 minutes to get to the car care center and everything was ready and waiting for me. I was on my way in 5 minutes. The drop off at MCO airport was effortless! Just follow the signs and they are waiting for you. I would highly recommend using Alamo in Orlando. My only tip is to put gas in before you head to the airport. There aren't any gas stations right next to the airport.

Had such a great experience using Alamo at Disney. It was beyond a smooth process renting the car with the help of our concierge at Kidani Village . Shuttle was on time for pick up & the car was ready by the time we arrived in the morning .When returning car after hours& a long day at universal studios Steve-O happened to be finishing up on paperwork and saved us from the hassle of calling a taxi in an unfamiliar area. He was so quick to offer us a ride home without even thinking twice . We can't even begin to thank Steve-O enough. We had such a great day & he really made the long day not feel as tiring. I would definitely recommend this company to everyone staying in the area , they were so helpful even after hours . My experience was terrible. I went there with good vibes to only be met with an horrible customer service. I made my reservation online through Hotwire. I thought everything was going well. This is my first experience with Alamo and my last. When I got there they were slightly busy so I informed young lady that I had reservation for a car. Right after entering people start coming in and just went to the reservation desk and was being waited upon when I was next in line, so I waited when my turn came I went to the desk gave the young lady my debit card and my driver's license. I was asked if I had a Visa card because in order for me to use my credit union debit/Credit card I had to have a bill or a utility, Because I would not be able to use my Visa debit card I and find her that all my utilities was included in my rent I didn't bring a bill I was not told that I needed a bill. I had no knowledge of this information. So I asked her again are you telling me that I am unable to rent this vehicle because I do not have a utility bill. She said yes. I informed her I would like to speak to the manager or could she give me corporate number and a person to speak to in the corporate office because I was not informed that I could not rent this car if I did not have utility bill to show. Once I drove the vehicle home on my way I noticed that it was pulling to the left I arrived home exactly in 20 minutes I contact the young lady informed her the performance of the vehicle was pulling to the left as if it needed a front end alignment and that's when I exit the vehicle and I looked at the front end I noticed that the driver side front tire rim had a small scratch and the tire had a small tear pulled back on the outside of the tire. Tom Page immediately took the defense mode to indicate that I had did this damage. The only reason I was able to notice it because the way the car was driving. So I was concerned about this Alia informed me that I could bring the car back the next day she knew I had a early morning appointment. She stated that I could return it back the next day after I leave my doctor appointment and to call her so she will have a car to place me in. I called her when I done with my appointment. She informed me that she had a Toyota Corolla to put me in and I told her I was on my way. Once I arrive the manager grab the keys to the other vehicle we went outside and I explained to him the reason why I was bringing the car back. In the beginning he was very nice but as soon as we went to the car he immediately bend down ran his finger across the rim cover and said it had fresh white powder on the rim he immediately accuse me of damaging this vehicle. He told me that I had to pay $250 deductible and a $250 dollars deposit to get the other car. asked me for a $250 deductible. I was upset because I had reserved this rental for a week. I was treated at this facility horrible, just out right horrible customer service. I was there for atleast 2 and half hours. I had to immediately called to get the corporate number I got a mister CJ Johnson who is the area manager, and Tom page the branch manager which he did not introduce his self to me as the manager until I asked him who was the manager I wanted to speak to. If this situation is not resolved which I received the letter today from damage recovery to pay for damages that I didn't cause. Tom Page took $189.15 minus $150 deposit and charges for the one-day rental. Tom page charged me $156.47 for damage deductible charges that I didn't do. Then he turns around an file a claim for damages that I didn't do...

Hello, I am writing this let people know about Alamo. To express the level dissatisfaction and un-professionalism I have faced with Alamo. I have had the same issue time and time again with Alamo and it seems like the company just does not care about its customers. I booked a car 6 months in advance of the thanksgiving holiday to be on the safe side, I get to the location and there are no cars. The employees blame corporate and corporate blames employees, yet its the customer that is left without a car. Despite booking a car so far in advance, I had to sit at the Alamo Location since 9 in the morning to 3 in the evening until one car finally arrived, which was filthy. My father had made a reservation as well from this same location 4 months in advance, and they tried to put him in a 15 passenger van, which at his age he is not capable of driving. When I call customer service, the extremely rude lady on the phone decides to act like its my fault that Alamo ran out of cars. When I ask her to call around different locations, she refuses and tells me in a very rude tone that I do not have to rent the car If I do not want to from Alamo and I can choose another company. This is the dirt level customer service that I have received from Alamo. This is not the first time Alamo has done this to me, the previous year, Alamo ran out of cars and decided to give me the run around to different Enterprise locations to find a car on my own. My question to your company is, if a customer is making a reservation that far in advance and has families depending on leaving on time for thanksgiving, Your company would just rather say sorry, we overbooked you so your going to be spending Thanksgiving at home?. I will never be using Alamo again and will recommend everyone who is considering using Alamo to stay away as well because Customer Service and Reliability mean nothing to Alamo.

This is part one of a two part Alamo Review. The other part can be found at the airport location review page. We went in to get our car exchanged because it had issues and they didn't have any cars available which was annoying. We were then advised by the staff to either go to the airport for better luck, because they were sure to have "a whole lot" of cars or to go fix the tire ourselves at discount tire (I think) and get reimbursed for it. We opted to go to the airport because an exchnage is obviously much cooler than waiting at discount tire with our stuff before a road trip to Dallas.

A very good car rental place located smack in the middle of Disney World. I rented a car for a day to Universal and it was a breeze. They had transportation pick me up in the morning and drop me off at the rental place. I was in and out in no time with my rental car, which was fully gassed and clean. And after I dropped the car back the next day, the shuttle dropped me back off at the hotel. It was great.

I gave 2 stars because I have rented from Alamo before and not had these issues otherwise a one star. The company was deducted stars because of the shape the vehicle was in. The driver side power door lock did not work, the brakes were questionable and shimmied when you braked at speeds over 50 mph. To top all of that the car had not been cleaned from the last driver. This was a full size rental and was the last in the lot. My bad for not insisting on a different car, but for the price I paid I expect a car in better condition.

So on yesterday date 8/11/2017 I had 2 reservations one for a premium vehicle and the other for a luxury vehicle I chose the luxury reservation to go with because I was attending a wedding and wanted to ride in something nice. So according to my reservation it told me that my rental wouldn't be no more then $40 per my online reservation. So when I get to the pick up counter I gave the gentleman my license and credit card to enter information and go ahead and swipe my credit card. Well he swipes my credit card and then tells me that my card declined and did I have another one I said sure and gave him my other credit card and what do you know he tells me that one declined as well which I knew I had made I had enough to cover the rental charges and a little extra. So I ask what's the total for my rental he says it $77+ dollars and I asked for an explanation why and he told me it was because of airport taxes and fees so I step away for the counter and make a call to my credit card company as seeing I had to get to this wedding that I was apart of the wedding party to move more funds I didn't intended on using. So make a long story short I moved the funds got the vehicle and left to make it to the wedding on time which btw I was still late to and once I finally was able to sit down and look over the rental contract he without my knowledge added the insurance to the rental so that's why it wasn't what my reservation had quoted me. And I usually rent from Avis or Dollar. I'm not going rent from there again if I'm not getting the rate quoted to me as I should be and not getting insurance coverage added when I pay $350 for personal insurance that covers rental cars as well.

Terrible service. I had specific requirement for 8 passenger vehicle so booked 8 passenger SUV. I called a day before i was suppose to pickup vehicle and was assured it will be arranged. But on day of reservation i called just in case before dropping in and they said they only have 7 passenger vehicle. WHAT IS THE USE OF RESERVATION?? They dont even have courtesy to call and inform me that required vehicle is not available. I would have looked somewhere else. Fiance picked up SUV at the CVG location (Awesome location). Within an hour of driving, the car experienced a mechanical issue & the Dayton location was the closest. She pulled into the location and explained what happened. The woman at the counter states that they only have minivans and that's it. My fiance felt uncomfortable driving a minivan and asked if Enterprise or National had an SUV available (All owned by the same company). The woman said only minivans were available, despite numerous SUVs parked on the lot. After a few minutes, a compact car suddenly became available & the woman stated either to take it or the minivan. My fiance decided to take the (Severe) downgrade and get on with her trip. 20 minutes later, I called the location, spoke to the same woman who was very unhelpful and had a rude tone asking if they had SUVs available - she said they had plenty, but I should call the main reservation line and not her location! All in all, the Dayton location may be the most unfriendly and unhelpful Alamo location I have dealt with. Steer clear & go elsewhere if you have to rent out of Dayton!

Amazing company to rent with! I rented through hotwire and got an amazing deal, however I then had a death in the family and needed to extend my trip a couple days. Alamo representatives at this location were very helpful and then when I dropped my car of there was a little discrepancy on my bill so Sean the manager helped me correct it and after over hearing me and my mother talking about our loss took it upon himself to give us some extra discounts. I would highly recommend using this company and would not hesitate to recommend them. Thank you Sean and Alamo for your kindness and compassion.

Kiosks we’re down and line was extremely long to get our rental car, once we checked in after all the extra costs it was double our quote which was extremely unexpected and a very disappointing way to begin your vacation. As we walked out to get our vehicle it wasn’t ready so had to wait about 20 minutes or so for our vehicle. The gentleman was however kind enough to keep us updated it was in its way, however the overall experience was extremely disappointing!


I have no complains about my rental experience with Alamo. No long waits. Easy drop off. Good customer service. I booked a compact car through Costco. It was part of prepaid package deal. There was no additional fees charged. We got a worn out Hyundai Accent but had no problems. It drove well. It's Kauai so I guess it's expected to get worn out cars.

I rented a GMC Terrain SUV from this location for a weekend trip to Chicago. Even though I brought the vehicle back (4) hours early. I did not receive a credit for it. When I called the corporate office to report it, they told I needed to speak the manager at this location. When I called this located to speak with the Manager, no one answers the phone. My credit card was over charged, and nothing was done about it. I am going to disputed directly with the credit card company! Try National, Avis or Budget....I don' t know if their customer service is any better. But, Use Alamo in Chicago at Midway Airport, Chicago Illinois at your own risk!

Honestly the worst rental car experience I've ever had in 25 years of travel. I travel a fair bit for work and have rented from most every major brand. Have had previous good experiences with Alamo renting for work. This particular trip I was travelling for personal vacation with extended family and it was so bad that I will never use Alamo again. First - "systems" were down and had to wait over 2 hours to get pre-booked rental van after full day of travel from Denver to Kuaui. 2 employees at desk during busiest time of day with line out the door. I understand this kind of thing happens and would not even really complain if I didn't run into the rude and un-accommodating response I received upon returning van. Second - I requested to pay bill with my mother-in-laws credit card upon returning van and Alamo refused due to "liability policy". I simply asked what liability there could be as I have returned the van and do not intend to drive anymore. The lady then rudely asked me if I'd rented with Alamo before and explained to me "payment can only be in primary driver's name and if I've rented with Alamo before I should know this..." That final line is what put me over the edge. I asked for manager who was non-apologetic and not willing to accommodate request. Last - Had a WONDERFUL experience comparatively renting Jeep across street with Dollar. My wife was able to get keys and drive off upon arrival same eve in about 10 mins. Half our family arrived at our vacation home hours earlier in Jeep while other half waited with me for Alamo until about 10pm. Then, when my wife went to return the Jeep following the Alamo experience, she asked if we could pay for the Jeep with mother-in-laws credit card (since Alamo refused for the Van) and they said "No Problem!". Went inside, provided new card for payment and what-do-you-know, was easy. Moral to story - Dollar rental experience was fast, friendly and accommodating. Alamo was extremely slow, incredibly rude and completely un-accommodating. Last time I will rent with Alamo!


We had eight people so needed a BIG vehicle Alamo did the job ! Vehicle was not ready and waiting when we arrived at the Kauai airport so we had to wait 20 -30 minutes for it but after that everything went well. Vehicle was nice (had many convenient and useful features we kept finding) and did everything we needed it to do. Would definitely rent from them and this type vehicle again !

Never got a last name, but it doesn't matter. Her name was Kelly and she was the Alamo rep at the Disney Car Care center I talked to in March 2015. One word? AWESOME. Friendly, helpful, funny and understood the pleasure/stress that comes from any Disney trip. She was very knowledgeable (from character breakfasts to how early we needed to arrive). We dropped off our rental car and they, in turn, dropped us off at a specific hotel for that breakfast. My rental car was supposedly guaranteed until 3a, because our flight was delayed from storms, but when about 10-12 Alamo customers arrived to pick up our cars at 2:20a, there was not one Alamo representative behind the desk, or in the facility, so we were all forced to rent cars from other agencies at a much higher rate by $250 above our reservation amount with Alamo!! I have been a long time customer of this alamo. As of late I have been very disappointed by the service I have received from the company as a whole. The agents at the front desk have very little knowledge about what they are doing except Abigail. I was told that a problem occurred on my cards end when in fact it was Alamo's system that declined the charge. The money was still taken from my card and I literally had to wait 3 hours just to rent a car. Terrible service and this is from an Alamo Insider!

2 AWFUL experiences here in <6 months. Quotes were inaccurate. Lines moved incredibly slowly. Customer service was awful. They charged most of the value of a booster seat to borrow one for a few days (shouldn't these be provided as a service for safety?). Both times, we went back to the terminal and took a LYFT! Rented a car on the Northside for 1/2 the price with incredible service the next day.

We rented a small car which was perfect for our needs. But the absolute best thing was the shuttle service. On Thursday we asked the driver what time they started picking up from the ship. We were told it is 8am. However he said he would be there at 7:30. Sire enough he was there! There was a couple out there waiting on National that had promised them a 7am pick up. Wanted to put me and my family in a Camero then a SUV for $20 a day more... the he tried to pressure me for the insurance that is already covered by may card. Loose the High Pressure, ignorant capitalizing, sales junk. Just rent cars. I got what we negotiated for and it was a nice Impala. Great new car. good product. I love the quality of Alamo, just not the high pressure junk that seems more like a con working on tricks than a helpful clerk renting a vehicle.

When I returned my car at MIDWAY ALAMO, I was OVERCHARGED by $64. I called the ALAMO intake person on it and he took me to the booth and my bill was reduced to the correct price. Unfortunately when I got distracted by the overcharge, I accidentally left my favorite sport jacket in the back seat of the car. (I got married in that jacket). One would think that the next Alamo employee who processed the car, would discover my jacket and place it in Lost and Found. NOPE. I realized that I didn’t have the jacket when I got off the bus at the terminal. I reported the missing jacket as soon as I landed. Someone has a very nice blue sport jacket. Not me.

Tried to rebook the Jeep we had reserved weeks ago due to flooding on the island and our arrival being delayed. Contacted the company and spend nearly an hour going back and forth with several folks who all told us there was no way to rebook and get a Jeep. Could not even offer the option for us to pay for the extra days we were not going to use to the vehicle to ensure that we would have a Jeep, which we were willing to do. The word for the day from Alamo was apparently “unfortunately” as this kept being repeated over and over again to us rather than anyone offering a solution. Travelling with my family, prepaid for a car with Alamo through a booking site. Flight was supposed to get in at 1130PM, and got delayed by 2 hours. Alamo closes at 1. Called Alamo customer service to see if i should rebook with another rental car agency. Reps did not know what to do in this situation, gave me the number for the Midway office. Tried calling 5+ times, after going through many prompts, went to voicemail everytime. When we got in, no one at the Alamo desk. Where to start with an incredibly frustrating part of what was otherwise a spectacular vacation. My travel companion booked us a rental with Alamo near the Lihue airport, with myself as the driver. When picking up the car they said that was fine, she could pay for the rental and they simply needed a card of mine on file for incidental damages. Sounds reasonable to me. The front counter representative that we spoke to (after a half hour of waiting in line) stated that my personal insurance nor my credit card's rental car insurance would not cover the rental because it was booked with her card. and very adamantly pushed Alamo's varying up-charge versions of expensive insurance. I declined. They also attempted to Pre-sell me a full tank of gas (even though it would be difficult to use a full tank in the 3 days we were there), claiming it was cheaper through them rather than a gas station on the island (LIES, their gas was actually over 50 cents more per gallon than I paid) I took this as generic sales tactics of all rental card agencies, and not even why the bad review. It was upon the return of our rental, that the agent said we must use my card on file to pay for the entire rental. I told him that is not what we were told, and that it should be on a different card not in my name. He stated that isn't standard, but to hold a second and let him check with his manager. Instead of coming back with a resolution to my liking or not, THEY RAN MY CARD WITHOUT PERMISSION. The agent and manager returned with a printed receipt and simply stated it was approved, have a good day. When I stated very clearly that I was refusing to use that card, and did not give permission that manager says that my taking the rental in the first place was permission and too bad. I will never use Alamo again, anywhere in the country.

I rented at Chicago Midway Airport. It was slow, problematic and the add-on cost of the toll scanner was expensive at $19. The car was fine. The staff was friendly but customer service was below par. First, despite checking-in online, I could not bypass the counter. Second, the kiosk scanner did not work which required that I go to a rep at the counter. Third, once I completed the check-in experience and went to pick up the car, I was taken to two cars and told to pick whichever one I wanted after which the rep took off to handle the next customer. There wasn't an explanation about how to open the trunk or any checking with me on whether I knew how the basic features of the car worked. I will not rent from Alamo in the future.

We needed to rent a car to continue our vacation to be closer to universal. Normally we will take the magical express back to Orlando airport and rent a car but due to time constraints we decided to get the free shuttle from our resort at Disney. The cost was a little more than usual doing it from the car care center but certainly not unreasonable and saved us time. The shuttle driver was wonderful and so was the lady who gave us another free upgrade for waiting patiently. The car was wonderful but when I booked online they didn't offer any convertibles or sports cars on the list as I would have gone with a mustang or Camaro but the lot had quite a few of them on the lot when I got there and by the time I saw them (it was raining and the shuttle dropped us off in front) I already had the car and the line was very long so we decided just to keep the ford fusion which was a really nice car. The only issue I had where with the other people trying to rent cars. The car rental procedure should only take 10 minutes at the most. However there were people haggling over price and extras which really made the experience a long wait. The people behind the counter did their best but it is a small office and they only have three people one for national rental car and two for Alamo. Our transaction took less than 5 minutes and we were on our way but stood in line waiting for two people in front of us almost 40 minutes. My advice to other is to book ahead of time and then confirm online. Everything you are paying is right there in black and white so there should be nothing to haggle over. My only other comment would be is to have an express line for people who have already booked and confirmed and you can just verify their id and have them on their way or even what national does as MCO, just pick a car in the lot and go as long as you have your paperwork with you.

Tried working the kiosk, didn't work for me. But i loved that they have a kiosk to make picking up your rental faster, instead of waiting in a long line. We did have to wait, the line seemed really long. But we waited probably 15-20 minutes. Staff worked as dast as they could to check-in reservations. The whole night shift staff was super friendly. Made picking up our rental so easy. Even the day we returned our rental, staff was super friendly. And returning was so simple, no line to stand into. The thing that took up our time, was making sure we took all of our belongings. This was a super awesome experience.

This is my second time renting from Alamo at the Disney car care center. Alamo has made me a regular renter from them and especially when I am in the Orlando area. I had multiple bags and one of the workers was kind enough to help with the doors both on the way in and on the way out. You don't always see this type of service at other rental car agencies because you are usually taking care of everything by yourself. They were attentive to me and made sure I was a customer of Disney which I thought was a little weird but then realized they might be hooked up to the system maybe. My last trip the shuttle ride was excellent and the driver was very attentive and engaging with the early morning crowd on board. Price wasn't too bad for renting from Disney when usually it is higher. Will definitely stay with Alamo and will never think twice with the Car Care Center.

I made a reservation on August 6th for a cargo van for September 21st for the weekend. I was contacted on September 20th and told that my rental wasn't available. After a few hours of back and forth, my rental was transferred to Enterprise and I thought it was all handled, even though the situation was very frustrating. Here it is October 17th and I have a $50 charged on my credit card bill from Alamo presumably because I never picked up the rental from them - you know, the rental they did not have available and that they themselves transferred to Enterprise. I called them to resolve the issue and was given a number for corporate, that number apparently led to regional which couldn't handle my issue so I was transferred to "corporate" again. They couldn't access Alamo's agreement's so I was transferred again and have now listened to the phone ring for almost 10 minutes.

Their contractual agreement stated they would refund taxes and rates if we were to return it early. It was like talking to a wall. I was signed up for a mid-size car. When I arrived, only two compacts available. I took a Nissan Versa over the Ford Focus because the seats were more comfortable. It had about 35,000 miles on it. It was very clean. However, after a few days, massive cigarette odor was obvious. I had to spray with a ton of Febreeze. Also, the brakes were not in good condition. Worst of all was the steering. One of the front wheels seemed like a wonky grocery cart where occasionally it would suddenly do a sharp veer to the left. This would have been dangerous for an inexperienced driver, as it was rather challenging. The Alamo people were very professional when I returned the car. They did make sure that I was only charged for an economy car. I suppose I could have bargained down lower but just went on my way.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. The "station" manager Michael Anthony is the most rude and ignorant human being that I've come across who works in a customer service setting it is definitely not the place for him. Upon prepaying for a rental on my debit card I went in to pick up a car, he looks at my license and looks at my card and tells me I cant rent with the card because it says "debit" on it. You can only rent with major credit cards he states...mind you I've rented with them before with THE SAME CARD AND LICENSE! So I ask to speak to a branch manager and he blows me off saying that he will say the same thing. I took my business two stalls down to a different company and rented a car with the exact same DEBIT CARD I tried to use at Alamo and successfully rented a vehicle. Never in my life have I heard of such nonsense. I will never use Alamo again and I'll be sure to advise all my friends who rent cars to travel out of chicago the same thing. DISCLAIMER: if there was a way to give negative stars. This would be it. A BUNCH OF CHEATING, DISHONEST AND GREEDY PEOPLE WORK AT THIS ALAMO. My girlfriend and I rented a convertible a month ago when we visited Kauai. I’ll give it to them that check in was quick and easy. Customer service was helpful and friendly during this process. BUT ONLY DURING THE CHECK IN PROCESS. Once it came time to pick our car, we decided to go with a Camaro since we had already rented a Mustang a while back. We checked the car out of the lot and parked right in front of their office to figure out how to put the top down. We realized that you cannot use the trunk of the Camaro if the top is down because the top is stored in there. We really needed a trunk because we had a lot of luggage and would be doing a lot of traveling around the island with it in the car; so we turned back into their lot to switch out the car with a Mustang. Keep in mind, we switched this car back within 10 minutes of having it and not a single mile went up on the odometer. The lady who helped us with the switch noted the same exact mileage in/out on the exchange slip and told us that there would be no charge for changing out the car... but oh there was.. Fast forward to a week after returning the actual car we rented... Alamo had the nerve to charge us $108 for the 10 minutes that we had the Camaro. We tried calling Alamo to discuss this unnecessary charge and they finally picked up after we called about 10 times. The lady on the phone said that there was nothing she could do about it and they will “look into it” for us. A week went by and no reply from them; so we disputed the charge with our bank. We had to dispute this charge 3 separate times because the same result came back every time: “Alamo claims that they offered us this option and made it available for us to use; hence this charge is valid and they refuse to give us our money back”. It’s ridiculous that they tried to charge us a full day rate for the 10 minutes that we had that car after they stated that their is no charge to switch (which sounds reasonable). Not even a single mile was put on that car. It’s even more unprofessional that they would decline our charge back with the bank not once but THREE (3) TIMES! There are many, many other options to rent a car from at the Kauai airport, so please take your business there. DO NOT GO TO ALAMO. I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH RENTING A CAR AND IVE RENTED MORE THAN A HANDFUL OF TIMES. AND all the bad reviews about them on here do not come as a surprise to me at all. They seem to have a track record of messing around with customers’ money and charging credit cards without authorization. I went with a Premium Crossover rental equivalent to a Dodge Durango and was offered what appeared to be a luxury vehicle at the current Premium Crossover SUV rate that had a lot of additional features included. It was a Volvo type SUV with all the safety bells and whistles and entirely computerized with keyless entry and keyless start. Dashboard was computerized and digitial. The attendant offered me a choice of 4 vehicles and really sold me on the Volvo. Pretty fun seeing what a modern day car was like and not having to pay more for it. Compared to other rental agencies, the additional insurance would seem to be competitive if not cheaper which caused me to go with Alamo. Depends on what you are looking for and who has what to rent. I would say the additional safety features helped when changing lanes in heavy traffic where vehicles actually noticed you. So all good, but still like dashboard gauges and what not. Still nice to get a taste of a perfected vehicle in the 21st century. Yes I would rent from Alamo again, but it depends on who is offering what rates and how much insurance is. If it wasn't for the time of year, I might have looked at a full size vehicle or mid size or gone on the cheap with a sub-compact or something and saved money on the whole thing but the due to time of year and what was given to me to rent, that vehicle was perfect. I rented accordingly in the unlikely event I would be in snowy and icy conditions which wasn't the case. Thanks Alamo!

The shuttle was very timely and the driver pleasant. She even helped with some plant identification information. The trip from the Caribbean Beach was about a ten minute drive. We were out of the Disney Car Care Centre in about 10 minutes and the cars are parked right outside - no driving to another place or any extra walking. It is an extremely streamlined service - the quickest we've ever experienced. Dropping the car at the airport was a concern of ours as we had not done that before, but it couldn't have been easier - not even two minutes. Sky caps who work for tips are there to assist you to the departure counter. Great experience. First time using Alamo but won't be our last.

After speaking with 4 representatives (some of them did not know which location picked up at the Disney All Star Resort so they kept giving me different numbers to Call) I finally booked a car through the website. We waited an hour for the next shuttle, then took a 30 min ride to go 6 miles because of all the stops. When we finally arrived to get our car we were told we had to have a credit card, not a debit card. I do not carry credit cards because I choose to not go into debt! Therefore we were denied a car with Alamo and were told if we provide multiple forms of documentation then we could be shuttled to enterprise and rent through them. No Thank You! We ended up having to pay for a Lyft to take us elsewhere. What a waste of time Alamo was.

Rented a car through Hotwire for a decent price. Paid the booking in full online with my debit card to find out after the booking we’d be picking up our rental from Alamo. Was instructed to go to the 2nd floor of of the parking garage to find Alamo. Entering through these cement barricades was confusing... we were waved through the return car window even thou we told the guy we were just picking up not returning. We drove around a minute confused and decided to just park and head toward the Alamo exit to talk to the one guy working. He said the greater was on his way but after a few minutes of waiting the greater walked past us to help a new customer who just parked. We waited some more to be told we have to go to the first floor and get our certificate printed then come back. This is when the real fun began.... we got to the counter to be told we can’t pick up our rental (even thou it was already paid for) without a matching credit card. Debit cards can only be accepted with proof a flight and itinerary. I don’t have a my credit card on me. My partner offered to switch the booking to his name and credit card but was told we can’t do that only cause we booked through a 3rd party. While booking the car it said we had 24 hours to cancel but after we booked hot-wire declared it was a hot rate and apparently there are no refunds or changes to hot rate bookings (we also were not notified this was a hot rate or of the policy until after the email confirmation) We called hot wire and sat on the phone for over 20 minutes until we got a hold of the operator to cancel the booking. Alamo took no responsibility for wasting 2 hours of our time but I’m confused why they’d do business with 3rd parties that they don’t communicate their policies? Hotwire acted unaware of the contradicting booking policies but eventually caved as if it happens all the time. Unless you gave unlimited credit cards and hours of spare time save yourself the hassle. We just decided to keep our current enterprise rental truck instead.

Like I've said about Alamo (National & Enterprise) before, they really do have the best customer service. Traveled with my 11 week old for the first time and somehow booked my car rental with the wrong dates when I came to pick up the car the rates changed but the rep called the manager to see what they could do and as a one time courtesy he honored my booking rate. What a relief. The walk in rate was almost triple. Please be sure to ensure your dates are correct when you make changes to your travel dates. Don't be like me, lol! I was also assisted in to my car, another rep helped me put my luggage in the trunk while I locked my baby into the carseat. Thanks so much! You all are superb!

Overall my experience was great. Price was good, car ran without issue, and return went easily. My flight was delayed and I arrived 5 mins after closing but a manager was available to assist me in getting a car and on my way. While I was on my trip, hurricane Harvey hit my home and I had to extend my rental 3 times. With one exception, each person I spoke with was friendly, helpful, and handled my situation quickly. I did have one representative that was horrible. He became rude, argumentative and when I asked to speak to a supervisor...sat quietly on the phone, did not transfer me to supervisor, and would not respond to me. I had to hang up and call back.

The first vehicle I was given was filthy and smelled horrible! After driving it for one day, I couldn't take the smell anymore. The warning light for a tire came on, as well as the transmission engine making a loud noise when shifting in any gear. If it weren't for the excellent customer service I received by the manager at Alamo on Sunday, August 25th, I would have rated my experience one star. The manager, (sorry I forgot his name) was extremely professional and kind and apologized for the condition of the car we received. He offered us to choose any vehicle we wanted to exchange for. He pointed out an SUV that was new and clean and we accepted that vehicle. We were much happier with that vehicle as it was clean and still smelled like a new car. Also, it was very comfortable riding around the island of Kauai in.

To the Shuttle driver who picked us up at 7:05 am, on Dec.11th, at our Disney Resort. To the man at the desk at Alamo who set us up with a very reasonable upgrade. And took the time to give us directions to our 2 destinations and also explained about tolls. This is a co-branded Alamo/National location. I am an Executive Elite Emerald Club member. I rented for three days from this location. When they called to confirm, I asked specifically about on site parking as it had been an issue in the past. I was told by Marc that parking was available. I picked car up Wednesday at about noon with Karim, who was very courteous. Thursday morning, while out of town with the car, I get a call from local,police telling me I need to call the location because they want to tow my car. I call and speak to Marc again, explaining I am out of town and will return early to pick car up on Friday evening. I arrive Friday at 4:45 pm to find my car was towed. The man who identified himself as Clay, the branch manager, was rude and arrogant. He told me I parked at my own risk and wold not tell me who towed it or where it was and that I needed to contact the police. I have contacted corporate and am waiting on resolution and a refund.

I have never been so irritated with a company! Our rental was scheduled for 9:30 am at the Orlando location, for Saturday June 9th for a minivan and carseat. Upon arrival, we were told no vans were available and they tried to put us in a truck. We explained we were a family of six, with luggage, and a truck wouldn't work. We were told we could wait for a van. So we waited, once we arrived at the van, there was no carseat so we had to go back in and wait in line, again. No big, all petty small things that were just that, petty. That evening when we tried to return the car at the Tampa location prior to our flight, I was told our rental was never attached to our contract because the staff at the Orlando location left it attached to another contract. After some time trying to fix it, we had to leave to catch our flight. We were told the situation would be fixed and a final receipt would be emailed to us. The following day, Sunday the 10th, I received an email that "unfortunately" since our car hadn't been returned we would have more charges on our card and to call Alamo to extend our rental. I immediately called customer service who stated they would be filing a report with the regional manager (reference # for call: 30020668), who would call me within 24 hours to resolve the situation. Monday came and went and I heard nothing. Monday and Tuesday I recieved the same emails about our card being charged more. Yay! I spent hours on the phone being transferred from person to person. No one could get me to a supervisor. My only option was an "escalation specialist". When trying to call Alamo at Disney directly I was sent to customer service who informed me they had their calls being routed out. Finally, after days of calls, I spoke with Kylie, a manager at the Alamo location. She genuinely seemed to care and assured me she would fix the situation. I have three other rentals scheduled between now and October. I fully intended on cancelling them, but if I don't, it will be because of Kylie and only because of her. She assured me I'll see the refund on my card in 3-5 days. Here's to hoping.

I made a reservation with this location and the return time was not convenient so I called the number to update the reservation. They told me there is no need to update the reservation because they will hold the vehicle for up to 12 hours. When I arrived at the location they told me there vehicle is gone because they only holds it for 1 hour. Then they said they can offer me a 15 passenger van instead and after looking at a few of them and talking it over with my family we agreed. At this point they said they cannot honer the $49.99 price of my reservation because the manner had cancelled the reservation and the normal cost is over $100 so they can agree for $89 for the "inconvenience". When I didn't agree to pay that amount they told me I should call the location in the airport and closed shop and left for the day, literally putting me out in the cold without my rental. I called the airport location and that attend a minivan for about three price I previously reserved, but I wanted a discount for the trouble and giving to drive the distance. They arranged for a callback within 3 business days, but I never got a call back or email.

No stars DON'T rent here. 15 passenger Van infested with ROACHES they got into backpacks and everything else. We had to wait 16 hours for another after wasting a whole day. Next van lasted 1 1/2 days and had a blowout lucky we pulled into resort. Waited another 16 hours after being told we would have van in 8. When we got van it was a 10 passenger van We were all like Whaaat. You can't imagine how angry everybody was. They picked us up a few minutes early direct from Animal Kingdom, and within 20 minutes we were at the location, signed a few papers, and were in our car on our way to Stuart, FL. The online check-in a day or two before helped to speed the process up. There was a little confusion as to the class of car we had reserved, but was resolved quickly and we were able to upgrade as it was for a small additional fee. To answer the question below, there was a selection of cars to choose from, of all different classes, however, I wouldn't say a EXPANSIVE amount of cars to chose from. Maybe 30-40?

rented an 8 passenger van it was a good overall van. the interior was black so when I open the doors to look at the condition of seats floor it looked fine some sand on the floor and some small paper stuff but not to bad from what we could see so we told the person marked it on the paper work. but when we got where we could see better we found trash in the pockets of the back seat's and sticky candy stuff on the door handles and panels. look like they did not clean it from the rentals before us.

I have always had a great experience with Alamo, they always have great rates and great customer service however this location did not live up to Alamo expectations. The check-in process was okay and the customer service was pretty standard but when it came to the actual rental vehicle that's what made me write this review. They gave me and my husband a dodge caravan that was absolutely filthy. They did not at all detail the car on the inside and that left us very disappointed. I took some pictures while I was trying to clean it up myself and to tell you the truth I was disgusted, how can they give vehicles out like this to customers. I basically had to detail the van myself because I would not let my children in this vehicle and in those conditions. There was hair everywhere, stains on the seats, dry food, etc. I will never rent from this location ever again, and you would think since it was in Disney that it would be decent but it's not the case.

Great customer service, only issue we had was that we paid for SiriusXM radio and was assured at the time of rental that the service would be available within 20 minutes max, well that never happened. After our inquiry the management states all vehicles aren't prepared for SiriusXM transmission. My next question was why sell it with assurance that the service would be available, a service that would've been a huge benefit since we were driving a total of 1700 miles! We had buyer's remorse so with that being said, "Buyer Beware!"

If negative stars were an option, I would assign them. Penny at the counter is the rudest individual I have ever met in customer service. I had a reservation with Hertz, who tried to tack on frivolous, undisclosed charges. I didn't want to do business like that and decided to use a different company. There were multiple car rental counters, but I was told only 3 were currently taking walk up customers (Alamo, Enterprise, and another). I went the enterprise counter because I've used their company multiple time before. I approached the counter and explained the situation I just walked away from. I explained what I needed and asked the gentleman if he could help. He began to help me, but was cut off by Penny, sitting in the neighboring chair. She had her nose stuck in a book and didn't even look at me till I asked for her name. She cut him off by screaming at him "We aren't taking walk ups right now!" I asked why because there wasn't a sign posted stating that and I had just been told they were renting. The gentleman didn't have an answer and looked at Penny, who resumed reading her book without answering. I said it was ridiculous they didn't have a sign posted and asked for her name. She longed at me with an eye roll and said, "It's Penny", and resumed her book again. Using either of these companies will be the BIGGEST MISTAKE of your trip. I booked a car with Budget, on my phone, for a fraction of the cost and much friendlier service. Penny, single handedly, cost both Enterprise and Alamo the loss of a regular customer - and anyone that asks for my advice and recommendations.

Picked up exactly on time at our Disney World resort... Stan from the Alamo shuttle is a great guy. Drop-off was quick and painless right at the curb when returned to Disney World... back on the Shuttle with Stan to a different DW resort for the last 2 days of our FL vacation. Toyota SUV was wonderful... only 222 miles when we rented it. The only way this could have better was if it was free or someone did the driving for us... LOL !!! For a first time car renter this was a great experience!

We rented our Alamo car through Costco Travel and received a really good price. The counter staff were very friendly and efficient and we had our rental in no time. We had our choice of a few cars in our range. The car was washed, with just a couple of upholstery spots which were noted. It got good gas mileage. Return was super easy and there was a shuttle waiting for us to get us to the terminal about 5 minutes away.

We had a great experience using Alamo at the Disney Car Care Center. Andrew helped us with the rental and readily accommodated our needs when we insisted on an American made vehicle. Because of the Spring Break week things were very busy and took longer than usual to get the vehicle ready. Andrew gave us a free tank of gas to compensate for the delay. We will be using Alamo again!

I rent from this location every 6 weeks or so. The rates are competitive. The wait is short if there is one at all. There is always someone to great you and show you to your choice of vehicles. Very friendly and helpful sometimes too helpful. I have done this before don't you have me on file as a frequent customer. I know the drill just let me sign and go. Do not take the time to check in on line they ask you all the questions anyway.

The people at the counter are very nice and friendly. No problems with those great people. However, after we left we could not get the trunk to close. We spent two hours trying to call the counter and no one answered. We then called for roadside service and were on hold for 30 minutes before we gave up. A couple of days later I lost the key. My fault I know. We literally spent another two hours trying to get help only to be told that the national office could not contact the local office. We then called AAA to have them tow the vehicle back because the local office has no spare key. A rental car company has no spare key to their own vehicle. The front line people who work here are really good people, but their supervisor is not. It did not bother me to pay the $250 for the lost key, it did bother me that it took us nearly five hours to resolve it. It's really not that hard to make a key. You can get blanks from each manufacturer for less than $20 and it takes about five minutes to cut and program a new one. I would have gladly paid the $250 if they had resoled it in an hour, and even made me come get it. The tow truck driver was even shaking his head at the entire thing. Alamo needs to train their staff. I do a lot of traveling, Alamo is permanently off my list and I strongly advise to others don't use them even at a discount. Hertze carries spare keys and won't consume a vacation day to resolve it.

The slowest, least pleasant rental experience of my life. I had a reservation and still waited 35 minutes for my car, which had an empty tank when I received it. Returning the car was also a 30-minute ordeal, which is about 29 minutes longer than most returns.

First off Richard at the reservation counter was FREAKING AWESOME GREAT. We had rented a car from their competitors. Had to Uber to get their ( they never sent shuttle) only to find out they didn’t have our prereserved car. Then Uber back to the car care center after reserving a car through Alamo online. Got there with my wife in tears over the whole “competitors problems”. Richard was very reassuring and had us in our car within 15 minutes of arriving there. They turned a wasted rotten day into a decent day.

Wonderful experience! Chicago Midway at Thanksgiving with weather issues and construction was a nightmare, but Alamo was great during a late night arrival. This was my second time giving them a chance. The first time they left a hold on my account for so long I had to threaten to action against the company. I gave them another chance. I was using a debit card this time and was told to bring copies of my utilities bills. But when I got there they made a big deal about the fact that I had made copies and not brought the originals. Wasted me too much time dealing with their vehicle. Tank was empty when we first pick up the vehicle at this place. It wasted half hour of our time to drive back and get refill before really hitting on the trip. When returning the vehicle, the staff don’t know how to close the soft top of the wrangler, which is a lot of work as the lever on the top kinda clitchy. Took us another 15 minutes or so to do their jobs.

I used their app to set up the rental, and when we got off the shuttle bus (one was waiting at Lihue airport), we just grabbed our bags, walked to the standard car area of the lot, chose the car we wanted, and drove off! Easy rental,. quick in and out, pick your car, drive off and have a great vacation. Return was just as easy (maybe easier). It's nice to deal with standardized processes that just get you what you need and get you on your way. Did have the usual up-sell push for insurance and upgraded car but it was not too painful. Good thing about Hawaii is that my car insurance at home covers me on the car at almost full coverage (worth checking with your company before you leave). I will rent from Alamo again, they are one of the better ones in my opinion.

Midway Airport: Experience was simple to go through. First car had a warning light for low tire pressure so Alamo upgraded my car immediately. Upon return due to upgrade, the computer had charged me more than my original contract but once I explained what happened they adjusted the charges and the drop off was still less than 15-20 minutes. My only suggestion is because Alamo is turning cars around so quickly when we pick up that drivers need a place to park to adjust mirrors, seats, familiarize themselves with the car before driving out (esp for safety reasons). Also a "cheat" card in the car would be helpful for radio controls as each car is so different.

I booked the SUV we rented in Canadian Dollars through Expedia. They offered me 3 different prices when i got there which made me confused because it clearly said on the print out i had on hand the price that i booked it for. The staff eventually was able to lower the price about $20 over my original booking. I did not argue more as we just wanted to get out of there and get on with our day. When we got to the parking lot we figured they gave us a van, (what) meanwhile we booked an SUV and there are plenty of SUVs park there ( weird ). We returned the van the next day to Port Canaveral Location. That location is very organized, the return tooked Zero Effort. ( 5 minutes). The transfer shuttle to the cruise port came in a timely manner, the process they have is very streamlined ( HERTZ rental can learn a thing or two from these guys LOL .. This company has plenty of shuttles that come and go to port canaveral. They also have a large fleet and wide selection of vehicles as they share with Avis, Budget etc.

The staff on the lot were less inclined to offer information so make sure you ask ANY question you have and make them stop to answer it. It appeared to me that Alamo does not update their cars as often as other rental agencies, so if that is a problem for you then seek another company. If you would like a nice rental car at a lower price then go with these guys!

Rented a car from Alamo to visit family near Walt Disney World. Our pickup at the Animal Kingdom Lodge was early and the driver was very friendly. Check in was very quick and we were on our way in about 15 minutes. The only problem we noticed with the car was that after having the air conditioning on for a while we could smell cigarette smoke. Obviously, there had been a smoker using it before us. My wife has asthma and I have allergies but by the time we noticed we were too far along our way. Alamo should be aware of people who MUST have a non-smoking car.

I like renting from Alamo when their prices are where they need to be in comparison to other rental companies. I won't go with the low tier rental companies anymore to many bad/ rough experiences. Alamo offers quality service and is as good as any of the other top tier rental companies. I like being able to choose the car that I want, but would like to be able to bypass the counter. Selection this time around was limited. Personnel were professional and helpful in checking in and getting to the car.

Original rental days needed were 35. At pickup, I was told contract couldn't be for more than 30, so to call when the 30 days were due to get another contract to cover the rest of my rental period. I called the 888 number and the guy was helpful in giving me the direct number to call the office. He said I had to go through them since that is who the contract was through. I called and left a message at 3:40pm stating I needed to extend my rental the last 5 days. 4 hours later, I called again, since no one returned my call. This time a lady answered and sounded annoyed. I told her I called earlier and no one returned my call and I needed to extend my contract for 5 more days since I hit the original 30 days. She said, "just a minute," and hung up on me. I called back, thinking it was an accident, and now no one answered again so I left another message. At 8pm, I called the 888 number back and explained that I was not getting my call returned and when answered, I was hung up on. She noted my account that I still needed the car and said that tomorrow I should receive a call. If it weren't for the 888 reps, I would still be trying to figure out what to do. Poor customer service at the Dayton Airport location, very disappointed.

The Worst. arrived at alamo office, 5 people in front of us in line, 4 employees taking info from those at the counter. Took 45 minutes to get to counter. Took employee 30 min to fill in the paper work. the employee then tried to overcharge us 2x because we are seniors. after paper work, there were no cars available. Had to wait another hour to get a car. [the manager did his best]. Tried to use web site to check our charges, the web site did not work. while alamo was the cheapest, i will pay the extra few dollars to use Avis, or Hertz. AWFUL , AWFUL, AWFUL.

Wallace is the customer service agent that gave great service. Orignally booked a full size SUV, upon check-in, the only available were Chevy Tahoe. Only rented for party of 2, as nice of a vehicle that was, it was way too big. Asked if I could get a smaller SUV, but because of price and demand, it would have been $11/day more for a mid-size SUV. Kindly asked if I could just get a full-size car, he said I could just pick an Impala instead. Upon returning the car, I noticed total rental came out lower. I believe Wallace made an adjustment for me. How excellent!!

Left me stranded on a Hawaii vacation. I booked the reservation weeks ahead. Apparently my license number is on a do not rent list, but under a different name and state. Clearly a mistake! After hours on the phone with customer service they said it would take a couple days to fix it, and they could not rent to me until the system was fixed. I was stranded at the airport. New to Alamo usually rent from National or Enterprise. Routine/as expected until getting to car location. Process was not clear because no one was available to show us to cars and tell us next steps. We had to walk to exit booth to get information. Car selection was limited and the vehicle we were interested in driving looked like it had not been washed. Inside was clean except for a receipt that belonged to someone else. Returning car was smooth.

They ended up charging the card we had to give them when we picked up the car. So we got screwed. Use another car rental place.

Also one place we stayed had small parking places so we needed to switch from a 7 passenger van to a smaller vehicle. I especially liked the courteous workers when we returned the cars.

Good and Bad... we had a small dispute in the beginning. When I arrived at the Car Care Center, the only car available to me was a small hatch-back with no trunk. There was 2 of us and we were in Florida for 2 weeks and could not fit our large suitcases in the back seat. I asked for another car, and there being none in my car class, had to upgrade for an additional $76 for the week. We were very pleased with the new car but NOT the new price!

We come to Disney every year and this is our first and last time renting from this location. I scheduled a 3:45 pick up for getting my rental car and they instead scheduled it for any hour later. After waiting 10 minutes in the sun it took me another 10 minutes to get through Alamo's phone tree to talk to the local office. They made no effort to correct the inconvenience or even apologize. The main reason we got the rental car on this day was to run to the grocery store before our dinner reservation since we already had a long travel day and knew we would want to get to bed early. What a waste!
