It’s not at the airport and a shuttle is needed to take you 15 minutes away. Drop-off is also not at the airport. Make sure you know this before going with them. Unfortunately, it’s the first thing that pops up in DTS. Military beware. Other than that it’s just the same rental car as everyone else.

Overall probably won’t use sixt again. Some employees were courteous others were not professional. Charged my credit card on reservation then charged me again when picking it up. Took way too long at the rental location to actually get the vehicle.

Let's start with a large group of waiting an hour at the airport with one stix drive by. The one drive by was in the far line and flew through. It was 100 outside. Did not give a discount and charged double. The guy charged more then what was reserved claiming it was refunable and it's not. Then on the easyaccess pass tried to charge triple then the 1800 number for sixt did.

We had a nice experience from from pickup at Dublin airport and through our travels in Ireland. The drop off point in center city Dublin-the Q-Park in Marlborough Street-is a bit difficult to figure out after a long drive, but all in all we would absolutely use Sixt again.

RENTER BEWARE! Sixt is conducting unscrupulous business practices. As noted on a few other reviews, this rental agency is trying to claim small scratches on a car our my responsibility. We picked up our car. Scratches were noted on the car. We parked the car at a resort for most of the rental period. Drove car back to the airport. The Sixt employee breaks out a cellphone with flashlight on and basically starts the most thorough review of a car I’ve ever see. Then they break out highlight markers. Not just my car, every car on the line of drop off. We were so upset. What is going on? The car is in perfect condition! After we refused to leave until we understood what this was all about and the manager told us this was part of their “process” and we wouldn’t be charged we left without signing anything. Then there it was, 4 days later in my email inbox- damage to the car, two scratches. I can’t say I’m shocked. This revenue generation practice was so obvious. This will get interesting because I see other reviews where credit cards were charged. Luckily my credit card company is aware of this activity and we will handle it. This literally ruined the end of a wonderful vacation. Arguing with their employees in an airport garage. I could go on but you probably get the point. Rent with a different agency. I have never seen anything like this..ever. I’m on top of it but please be wary. Go to another agency. Whatever is happening at the Tampa location might be happening elsewhere.

We came to Philadelphia to drop my daughter off at the University. Sixt rental car service had a shuttle that picked us up from the airport in a rather timely fashion. There was a long line at the rental counter but it moved rather quickly. Great customer service and we were upgraded for free to a Lincoln MKC from a Toyota RAV4. Returns were easy, we had a very early flight and were able to return the car at 4:30 am and still catch the shuttle to the airport. I would use them again!

Horrible experience, my 200$ deposit took 2 months and daily phone calls to them to get back,they even charged my card again another 200$ bringing the amount to over 400$.the worst part is nobody had answers as to why this was happening. I will never rent from here again, was a shame because the people who worked there were very good at what they do, corporate dropped the ball.i was told in the end it was because I used a debit card not a credit card, I hope this helps someone keep there money where it belongs.nobody should ever have this happen.

These guys are scam artists. Added an extra driver and a toll pass to my car and it doubled the price of a three day rental! I know the toll pass was going to cost extra, but $15.99 / day! The extra driver was 12.99 / day. Don't rent from these guys. They are crooks!

Pros: Up scale establishment, very clean, modern and lots of swag. They offer luxury car rentals at a more than reasonable price considering the vehicles available. Staff was very friendly, professional and accommodating. The location is less than 10 mins from the Philadelphia airport. Cons: After 9:30pm (30 mins prior to closing) the shuttles stop (literally) despite a reservation. Regardless of the rental class you reserve, they will not hold a specific make/model for you and you will only be offered whatever’s left in your class or below it! In my opinion, that’s un-acceptable but it is listed in their policies. Part of providing a service is being compliant with the customers reservation, regardless of circumstance. If I reserve (days/weeks in advance) and am willing to pay for a Mercedes or Jaguar, I should not be forced to settle for a Cadillac or Ford because another customer arrived there before me! It’s stated as a [reservation/RESERVE] not a request! My flight was delayed, my car pickup time was 9:30pm, i was at the shuttle pickup at 9:20pm and their shuttle never arrived. At 9:45 pm i had to take a taxi to there location to get my rental before they closed at 10pm. Customer service was awesome and they even tried to comply with my original reservation agreed pricing but the SIXT PC system would not let them because the only remaining Mercedes truck was a class above the one i wanted (Even with the employee discount) Bottom line, they do not fulfill their advertisements as its listed 100% (Renter Beware)

I have rented from them probably 6-7 times. Overall I like their selection of cars better than the rest and the prices are good. The things I don't love are the shuttle is a large van that comes every 10-15 mins vs the larger companies where you see busses every 2 minutes. On my last visit the AC was not working in the building and they had no complimentary water and it was 90 degrees outside. The car I got had to be cleaned and then they had to fill it up before turning it over to me but the agent Antonia was extremely nice an apologetic and I knew the issues were due to poor execution and management, and not her. I am positive if my next experience is similar I will start to use a different company but all of my previous rentals were fine and without issue.

Shuttle service was a bit of a longer wait than expected but once we were on board, our driver ensured that our ride to the office was professional and highly enjoyable. Once we arrived at the office, we got our car with admirable efficiency. Jessica could not have been more amiable or professional in getting us in our car and out on the road. Excellent Staff and Vehicles at Sixt Rental Philadelphia. The shuttle service cannnot be more professional, the staff at the booking counter are polite, provide complete information and make sure the customer is made aware of terms and conditions with options available. They go extra length to get an upgrade at lowest or no costs. My experience has been absolute delight, and I am sure it would continue thus.

My initial experience was awesome. I would recommend to anyone. 4 weeks later, My credit card was charge an additional amount for Toll. I purchased extra toll package to avoid these fees. I was told I wouldn't have to worry about toll and can pass thru as many times as I can. I tried calling customer service, they transferred me to Toll dept and they were rude AF. Telling me something different from Philadelphia location. I tried contacting location, since they're the one who gave me the wrong info....call gets transferred back to Reservation/ Customer care line. I asked to speak to Manager/Sup, I was denied. Told toll dept does not take escalated calls. Im so upset. I was there for my fathers funeral. I don't need this added aggravation. 7 calls later, 2 rude reps, still no resolve. This is the worst experience ever. And its not about the money, its about the principle of it all. I will NEVER rent from this company ever again.

Rented in Philadelphia. Good pick up time from the airport in the large black van. Only short drive to office. Processing paperwork was fairly quick. Staff was friendly. Car was great. Only downside is that they charge for a spouse to drive. Otherwise great experience.

Very poor experience with Sixt...my first and likely last transaction with Sixt. I booked my reservation a month in advance...prepaid the full amount. Nothing clearly stated during booking and nothing asked regarding my destination. The day that I arrived to pickbup my van...I was asked my destination... I replied that I and my family had a family trip planned to Texas for a believers convention. The clerk immediately replied that she would not be able to provide a vehicle due to my plan to leave the state of Florida. The clerk added that Sixt would also be taking a cancelation fee of $176...three days rental. I asked to speak to a manager...20 mins later, the manager arrived to speak to us. She reiterated that she could do nothing for us...did not offer to help us in any way. We agreed to cancel our reservation so that we would have some money to rent from another company. We had hotel reservations booked in three other states that we had to cancel, as we could not find another rental vehicle on short notice that wasnt double what we had booked with Sixt a month earlier. 10 days later, we still have not received our refund...the response from Sixt Customer service was also that they could no nothing and that I would have to continue to wait for my refund. This experience occurred at the Kissimmee Florida location of Sixt...at the Ramada hotel. Clerk was very non-friendly, non-personable and the manager not commited to any type of customer service to help us find a solution to our delimna. Should have done business with Herz or Enterprise...would have been worth the extra money they charge to receive better service. Holderby family...Aug 5th, 2017

Horrible company; no one ever greeted me turning in the car at 4:35 am just leave the keys in the car. service was terrible had to figure out how to work the car and convertible top didn't even want to show us. ( who does that) they take money out of your account before notifying you of toll roads. Took FOREVER for them to process rentals! We had 1 person in front of us in line and stood there for 20 minutes waiting to get served. I heard the poor family in front of us saying they’d been waiting 30 minutes just to have their car brought up. Go elsewhere.

Absolutely a horrendous experience. My reservation for picking up my vehicle was for 12 noon. It was for a Mercedes Benz 300 or a similar premium car. When I arrived i was told the Benz wasn't ready. That it needed to be inspected first. As far as a similar car they were all out. After checking out several different cars that wanted to charge me more and hold at least $1000 on my credit card. I was told the manager was in a meeting. Other customers became enraged due to their long wait times. I was finally told I would be giving a discount and an upgrade because the assistant manager noticed that I was there for well over 2 hours. I received neither. This place won't last long in philly with the horrible customer service that they have. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

We came home to Philadelphia to visit family and needed to rent a car. I must say it was such a painless process! All of the staff, from the transport drivers to the people who check you in for your rental were super nice! Extra pleasant. We arrived to return the car at 4:45am and the gentleman who drove us to the airport was so nice and even made sure he had chill music on for that time of the morning! Great experience. Had a positive experience here. Was accommodated from the start inside, as I sat and used an online app instead of the Sixt pricing(clerk was honest enough to concur it was cheaper). Then I had the pleasure of driving off in a new 2019, and breaking it in on a 1900mile road trip! I rented with Sixt (Philly Airport) for the first time a few weeks ago. I was always hesitant to rent a car here because their location was a little bit further from the terminal. This turned out not to be an issue. The pick up shuttle came in a timely manner and the commute to the rental car location was maybe five minutes. When we arrived, we were greeted with smiles from three Sixt counter reps - and there was no line! I can't say that you will be so lucky with no line : ) I was able to rent a Jeep Grand Cherokee for less than the other companies were charging for compacts. We scored a beautiful vehicle while saving a hundred bucks. If this wasn't enough to get me to write a good review, check this out ...so, I left a hanging garment bag (containing my suit) when I hastily returned the vehicle. I called the number I had for Sixt and was told that I need to go online to their lost and found website and file a claim. I did exactly that. In two days via email Sixt informed me that they had my garment bag and they could ship it back to me for a reasonable fee. The bag and suit arrived to my home a few days later. All good. I will definitely start with Sixt the next time I fly into Philadelphia and need a rental car.

Booked a car at 6 am. (the opening time). The shuttle came at around 06:05 and got a free upgrade when I arrived. Excellent service. When I dropped the car off it was pretty quick. However there was a long line for people arriving. Mine transaction was great though.

They charged me for fuel even thought the rental was returned full. They charged me $12 for upkeep even thought the car was clean. They charged me for an extra day for no reason. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE

The staff in the building were really nice and very accommodating. They made the whole process quick and easy. A shuttle picked me up from the airport and brought me to their offices. Forget about one star. No stars from me. Reserved an SUV, but given a Caddy CTS instead. Needed the SUV for storage space. Feel I got the runaround. Finally got to the car and it had not been cleaned and tank was less than completely full. But I was in a hurry to get to my destination because it took over an hour from me walking into the office to driving out of the parking lot. Crazy bad!

Rented with Sixt last week and I had a great experience. The young lady that helped me was super helpful and explained the different cars to me while I made the decision to upgrade from the car class I booked. We went outside and she let me take a look at each car that I was interested in. I also got a great deal on my upgrade. I had an ok experience with this dealership. The employees assisting me were very nice and did a great job trying to accommodate me. I booked many months in advance in the XFAR class which stated on their website include the Range Rover Velar, BMW X5, and Volvo XC90. They did not have any of those vehicles available. I was set up with the last premium large vehicle on the lot an Escalade. It was a good vehicle and served me very well through my time on vacation. Overall I was satisfied although I would have liked to get one of the vehicles on the class I booked for.

Got this place via hot wire and didn't know what to expect. Reviews were 50/50. Got there, a out in building so felt bad for guy in suit jacket but he were still friendly plesant and fast. My driver from the airport to the facility was spectacular. It was friendly open honest articulate and wasn't afraid to talk about Local Foods. Got my deal and I was very happy with it car was clean bigger than normal because of the deal and fuel economy was fantastic in the Sonata. Will definitely use these guys again because prices were definitely worth it.

Rented through Kayak. The agreed upon rental price did not match the final billed amount. When you are picking up the rental, be sure to get the local Sixt customer service phone number in case you need to contact them for anything. The toll free number will not lead you to a live person...EVER. Other than those 2 issues, renting a car with Sixt was a positive experience. We had a Kia Forte and it was a nice little ride...clean, new, and drove well!

Reserved a rental at Miami Airport for they Keys. Class included Volvo, Audi, Benz small SUV's; but ended up with a Lincoln MKC. Nice car but not equal to the Europeans. Little wait getting to service desk, only to be met with persistent upcharging for a more pricey model, insurance, features I didn't need. Wasted too much time for a reservation already booked. Elderly passengers waiting, and delay enough to hit rush hour traffic. Just give me the key, or, preferably, let me pick out my car on the lot. Still ended up with a higher bill than anticipated. My past experiences have been more favorable, including getting a car at 2:00 am at PBI when my flight was delayed and free upgrades.

BEWARE...Rented a brand new 2017 Full-Size SUV Yukon from Sixt Orlando (7855 N Frontage Road), for a total of 25 rental days over the Christmas holiday. Impressed with the price of the rental. Half way into our trip, we encountered a tire blow out on the highway!! Called in for assistance and were advised that it would take any where from 45 minutes to 1 hour for service. It being almost dusk and having the truck with kids and elderly parents, we managed to exchange the flat with the spare provided in the vehicle. During my initial call, I had advised the CSR that we would appreciate a call back within 15 minutes to check on our status and to ensure that we were fine. We did not receive a call. We returned the truck in the morning and were asked to provide a report of the damage and then given a replacement for the remainder of our rental. One month after returning from our trip, we received an invoice for the flat repair of approx. $400. Sixt claims is that the damage (flat) occurred during the time of our possession and they are not liable for these repairs. Considering this is a brand new vehicle with less than 1000 miles, I would assume they have some warranty on the tire...perhaps this is their way to make up their rental costs by providing low rates. Very disappointed with how this was handled. Customer service during and after the rental has been a terrible experience. I visit Orlando regularly and will never rent from this company.

Overall a good experience, the staff was a bit slow though. I booked my car through hotwire. The location is pleasing to the eye and the counter staff are helpful. Shuttle drivers are courteous and helpful! I did, however, have to wait about 20 minutes to get my rental car (though they were not crowded). Upon returning the car, I didn't see any staff for a bit. I had time to wait for a minute in the car, exit the car, unload my luggage and start walking away. I've never had to wait with other rental agencies.

Decided to try Sixt despite the negative reviews. We didn't have any problems. The staff was courteous, the price was right, the shuttle bus drivers were friendly. The car itself left a little to be desired (Nissan Versa with some interesting cosmetic issues, like there had obviously been duct tape or similar on the doors at one point) but it performed ok. We booked through a cut rate site so we weren't expecting much. We decided to find the flaws entertaining.

But I didn't notice, when I signed those many pages of agreement, that they have very strict geographic restrictions on where you can drive. Long, boring story on the employees telling me one thing and corporate telling me another, but they did eventually refund what I believe I deserved. One star off for the hassle I went through and one star off for not making the geographic restrictions clearer. Otherwise a good company.

The bad parts are that they don't stay open 24 hours, so if your flight is delayed you could be hosed, and the shuttle isn't as frequent as you would like if you're in a hurry. Otherwise, everything was great!

Customer service was horrible!! Their full size car was more like an economy size car. When I returned the car they had me wait about 15 minutes for someone to come and do a walk around. She walked around the car and bent down to look under the car and said there’s a scratch underneath and she has to right up a damage report. On Wednesday, I arrived at Sixt near the Philadelphia International Airport around 9 am. I rented a Toyota Rav 4 or similar thru a 3rd party. My first impression of this location was Wow. It was bright, cheerful and spotless. The girl at the counter was extremely nice. Despite having a problem with my credit card going thru the girl at the counter remained very patient and pleasant. Long story short, I was offered a Highlander. I couldn't adjust the driver's side high enough and had issues starting it. Despite me being there for over 2 hours and getting very upset and frustrated at everyone there, the bottom line was they went somewhere and came back with a Jeep Compass for me. Although, I was going to write a very negative review, the fact is they really went over and beyond what I expected of them to find me a great vehicle. Their customer service is great. The workers in there were excellent and I would very highly recommend this location.

However, I did not like waiting 25 minutes for a car to be cleaned when they had multiple of the same make and model on the lot. Coukd have put me in one and gave the one that was being cleaned to someone else. Plus they didnt adjust the time out and return time for the delay.

Bad experience. Had rented a car at the Buena Vista location that was dirty and alarming that it needed oil change. Called this location to ask if they had a car to exchange. They said yes they did. Drove twenty minutes to get there, but this was the closer location. Got there and the clerk tried to tell be there was nothing wrong with the car that I had and that they didn't have any to exchange. Offered a lower class of car which I declined. No other options available. I said I was just going to cancel and they couldn't even refund. Was told to call customer service to cancel. They couldn't help me either and was told to "call back tomorrow." Was never apologized to, nor offered any other options like delivery or to wait for them to bring a replacement from another location. Would have been happy with an "I'm sorry," but never happened. Very disappointed

Below average place to rent a car. Took over 20 minutes to get to off airport location after waiting 20 minutes for the van from the baggage area. Sixt agent kept trying to sell expensive add-ons. Car did not have full tank of gas. Windows were smeared so bad I had to stop and clean them. I rented the car through Hot Wire but since there is no way to exclude Sixt from a Hot Wire search, both companies have lost a user. Additional: The Sixt response is non-responsive. Although I arrived at the airport at 5pm, it was a Saturday night, heavy but certainly not peak traffic. In addition, when I returned home, I discovered that Sixt had charged me an additional $39.20. I'm still waiting for an explanation. Received a $39.20 one-time credit with an explanation that I signed for a full tank of gas even though I presented them with a fuel receipt. I probably did sign as they had me sign or initial at least 10 documents both at pickup and drop off. Too many rental options to waste time on this company again!

Worst car rental agency I have ever rented from, prepaid my rental with them however they required a $200 security deposit on my debit card which was to be returned after the rental was closed. It has been 7 weeks and still not returned. Have contacted them 5 times and all I get back is "please be patient with us we are looking into the issue". I even sent them my bank statement as well as the rental agreement. Then to top it off I called again today and asked to speak to a supervisor has was informed none were available. Trust me do not rent from this company, they are terrible

Way too many requirements. Was there for an hour answering questions & providing them with paperwork I didn't know was needed. Then waited 15 mins for them to bring the car, which I then had to return because of a very much unpleasant odor. I then had to go back in to redo the paperwork. I was given a free upgrade. Upon receiving my deposit of $200, I was returned $199.99. Imagine every person they do that to. Those pennies add up. If I was a penny short, would I have still been given the rental?

My son rented a Mercedes Suv about a month ago. The vehicle looked OK on the outside windows and all. I rode in the back seat and you could hardly see out of the side windows they were so dirty. Looked like children had a field day are they had never been cleaned inside. I wanted to stop and clean them at a service station but my son said he was not going to do their work. Philadelphia is a terribly expensive rent-a-car market, so while I would normally say that Sixt's prices were too high, they were actually a bit lower than the usual competition. The facility is clean, and the staff are all very friendly. My main complaint is that we had reserved a mid/large sedan, then realized we were going to be traveling with 6 people total on the way back to return the car, so I asked if they had a vehicle with more seating. We were talked into "upgrading" to a Jeep Compass, which I am here to tell you, didn't offer us any more seating space, although it did give about 8.4 more cubic feet of cargo space. I'm not sure that was worth an extra $112 on top of what was already nearly a $400 cost for less than a week.

I had a 6 am flight a few weeks ago and I arrived before 4am to catch the shuttle that began at that time. The driver showed up, but there was no one there to let him in to get the shuttle bus keys. I had to pay $12 for a Lyft to get to the airport on time. I left feedback at their website and they were very kind by refunding $30 off of my rental. I would use this company again. it was just a fluke that the supervisor didn't show up on time. Just be cautious about returning a car at that time.

This is literally the worst place ever! Rented a car for 2 days. $96 for the rental, $36 for insurance, $32.33 for additional driver-- all paid in full before I left their physical premises. 2.5 weeks later, a rogue charge from Sixt out of New York (not sure if they have a site there, but I rented from Philly). I didn't even call Sixt because I know i paid in full, so this must be fraud right? I call Capital One and have them send me a new card.. Everything should be fine now, right Sierra? WRONG?! I looked at my card yesterday (just because i like to monitor it when I'm not using it), lo and behold, another $57.98 charge on my NEW card. I called Capital One who says there may have been something in the contract where they can charge me every month or there could've been damage. There was no such clause in the contact and there was definitely no damage done to their car. I never received any notification, if there was because I'd have disputed it. So, Capital One and I tried to conference call the Island Ave location at 3:31pm on Saturday, January 12, 2019. Do I really need to tell you that it was closed, even though the business hours are 6a-12a? I just want them to stop charging my card. Leave me alone. I will never, ever rent from this place again. I'd never even heard of it before so that was a sign. And I'll make sure no one I know rents from these robbers/thieves either.

Getting in and out was fairly quick with good customer service and they have a decent selection of vehicles. I rented a Cadillac SUV which was nice but could have been cleaned better on the exterior. For three days my rental cost was $120.00 but the fees added on another $140.00 which in my opinion was outrageous. They also put a $500 hold on my credit card which took a few days to clear. I'm a cross country truck driver and I rent vehicles in every state from coast to coast and this is by far the highest deposit/hold I've seen from any rental agency. With this being an airport rental agency there are several other companies nearby with lower rates, comparable vehicles, less hidden fees and a lower hold on your credit card. Safe to say I will not be renting here again.

I chose Sixt because they offered a significantly better price point on convertibles than competitors. A luxury convertible was even only a few dollars more so I decided to splurge. Unfortunately the reserved car they intended to give me had a cracked windshield, but to their credit, Sixt contacted me the morning of my pickup to let me know they could provide me with a Camaro until they could get a good condition Mercedes in, which was OK with me. It was supposed to be available the next morning, so I planned my day accordingly, but no one contacted me for follow-up. When I called them, they told me it would be very late afternoon, which no longer worked with my schedule, so I had to wait until the next morning. At least they offered me a 10% discount to make up for the extra gas I spent on the inefficient trip planning. Both cars were in good condition and quite a lot of fun to drive. The pickup, swap, and return were simple and straightforward. As with all rental car companies, they tried to sell me junk insurance that duplicates what my credit card and personal vehicle insurance already cover, as well as overpriced gas, overpriced tolls, and all manner of add-ons, all of which I refused with no fuss. And of course they deliberately crippled the built-in navigation system of both cars so they could try to sell me a separate unit, but that's what my phone is for. This isn't a complaint about Sixt specifically because everyone does it, but it would be refreshing to find someone who doesn't. I have read other reviews complaining about excessive deposit holds, but my credit card wasn't authorized for a hold at all. (Perhaps because I prepaid in full and the payment was more than the deposit would have been.) This amount may vary by location. Bottom line: I would rent from them again if I can find a similar deal. I assume the car mix-up was an isolated incident, and my other quibbles would apply equally to any major rental agency. Oh, and one last thing: pay careful attention to which location you're renting from. They have two locations adjacent to Disney, so "near Disney" in the description doesn't tell you enough. (I went to the wrong one first.) One is in the Sheraton next to Crossroads just east of Disney Springs; the other is in the Ramada on 192 just south of Animal Kingdom. And there's a third one at the airport.

For being willing to take a quick shuttle ride a mile or so from the Philly airport, we saved at least a hundred bucks on the cost of our rental for a comparable offering to the airport’s rentals, plus the car was immaculate, as was the rental office, & everyone from the shuttle driver, to the rental agent, & everyone in between was all smiles & super friendly! I have rented from Sixt before so this wasn't my first time. I rented a pre paid car this time. Now, I get its prepaid but I called 2 minutes after I hit enter to try and cancel as I realized I needed to return to another airport. I took me 10 minutes to get to a person because the want you to do it on the website. When I reached the person I was told the department that handles cancelations was out but they would send me a link to cancel. The link they sent was the same as I got when I rented so I was hesitant on using it as I didn't want to get penalized. When I called at 7 in the morning i was told they would send me a link (same link i receive before) and I could cancel. I then asked if I would get penalized and the lady said yes, for the whole 3 days. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and I will NEVER rent from them again.

Horrible service. I got a letter claiming I had to pay minor damages on a vehicle even though I paid for the insurance. Damage was caused by another vehicle on the road kicking up rocks, completely beyond my control. I bet I wouldn't have had to pay if I had simply not mentioned it as it was a tiny ding on the winshield. Sixt has been difficult to get on the phone and has yet to try to contact me either. (I work 24 hr shifts in isolated parts of the country). The letter claimed they would try to contact me too and "other attempts were made" but this was a lie. They don't have an online pay feature, so late fees just keep stacking. Also, the car I got wasn't what I asked for. I asked for a different car on the site but they gave me a cheap KIA which they consider "equivalent". In fact, all they had were KIAs, so why even advertise you have other vehicles? I will never use this service again. Ever. Even as I write this review, I have been waiting on the phone for over an hour on one of the few days off I get. Oh and they just hung up on me! Oh well, time to wait another hour!

I initially had good experiences with this company and actually started to use them whenever they had a location where I went. Very nice cars, competitive rates, no hassles. I even signed up for their frequent user program. That is, until I recently rented a Mercedes SUV for a short trip. When I picked up the car, nobody came with me to examine the car for damage before leaving - I was told to go to the lot to pick it up - not even given a place to document any damage prior to picking the car up. The parking lot was poorly lit and it was 9pm, but I inspected the car myself, using the light from my cellphone. Seeing no damage, I left, used the car for my trip, and had no incidents. Upon returning the car, the representative inspecting the car noted a 5cm scuff mark (no dent, or even a scratch) on the driver's side front wheel rim edge, near the tire/wheel interface. I didn't hit anything, rub against a curb, etc. The scuff was so small and insignificant, I can honestly say that had I seen it, I wouldn't have even made a notation about it. Sixt then proceeded to make a claim for $1000, yes, $1000 to REPLACE the wheel. Included in this amount, was a $127 "diminution in value". So after fully replacing a wheel, they wanted to claim a decrease in value on the car. I contested the entire claim multiple times, but they have threatened legal action. I used my insurance to pay the claim, which covered everything except a $75 "admin fee" and $22.50 "appraisal fee". Sixt has now told me that if I don't pay these fees, they will turn me over to collections. This damage claim was bogus. The "damage" was normal wear and tear on any car. I know that I didn't cause this scuff mark, although I can't prove it (and I realize that error), but replacing a wheel for this type of "damage" is downright absurd and likely a money grab. That scuff could have easily been buffed out if they felt the need to have it perfect. I feel pretty confident that the wheel wasn't even replaced. The fact that a company is willing to lose an established customer (this was my 4th car rental in 6 months with them) with aggressive tactics and petty damage claims says a lot about what they think of their customers and their loyalty to them. I will never use this company again - horrible customer service. UPDATE: As you can see from the "owner response", I received a canned response from Chels (whoever that is). Mind you, the phone number she gave no one answers. I've called multiple times and go through a menu, wait on hold for a few minutes, then get a ring that never stops. Since I've delt with the Claims management department for the past 6 months, I can tell you that they take 4-6 weeks to respond to emails, most of the time with no helpful information, other than a mindless request for payment of their bogus claims. BOTTOM LINE: NEVER USE SIXT CAR RENTAL COMPANY - THEY ARE NEAR CRIMINAL IN THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES

Watch out!!! They added something called a Loss Damage Waiver after I specifically said I don’t need any additional coverage. I had PREPAID for the rental (to lock in the price) but the guy at the counter said I needed to give him a credit card for a hold charge of $1000. He talked in detail about how gas would be $10/gallon if the tank wasn’t full when we returned it but somehow skipped over the 32.99 + tax/day (!!!) that this “waiver” added. That’s like the price of a whole car. He rushed me through to sign at the bottom and gave me the keys. Now when I discovered this charge at the final invoice their customer service refused to refund it because I “signed for it” Also, they claim they have a van circulating the airport every 10-15 min. It was not after waiting for 30 min and getting passed by countless other rental buses I had to call the emergency road assistance line in order to get them to connect me to the Philly office. The guy said “oh I’ll send out guy out” The cat itself was great but this customer service is atrocious.

My flight was late getting into Philadelphia. They close at 10pm. All other rental agencies are open til at least midnight. I could not pick up the car that night because of this. I had to have a car that night to get to my hotel and for a business meeting in the morning. I know I am going to be late so before my reservation starts I try to call and am told to change my reservation online by the automated voice. Get the run around, finally get a hold of a real person on the phone. They tell me to write an email to dispute and cancel my reservation. I do this and am still charged the full price of the rental for 3 days. I did not receive and goods or services and am still being charged over $350. They told me to take it up with the airline for being late to pick up the car. Beware, you get what you pay for. Sixt Rent A Car has seemingly cheap prices but terrible customer service and policies. I (never have) and never will do business with them again.

I showed up at 7:15 AM on Saturday 2/24/2018 to rent a car. They open at 7:00 AM. I waited 30 minutes at the desk and the customer service person never showed up. The car detailer kept knocking on the office door, but they never answered. It seemed pretty obvious that they were asleep in there. Great customer service! Hope you had a good nap. Booked and confirmed reservation through online broker, May 3rd, for $221 arrived at PHL to pick up rental and was informed that my reservation was cancelled because of a booking code error between Sixt and online broker. The Sixt cus. rep at the desk told me since I did not pay in advance and opted to pay at the counter they could not honor my confirmed reservation price. I was charged $475 for the same rental on JUne12th. I was extorted into paying a 214.9% markup for a system error I did not cause. Their dispute was with the online broker that Sixt has a contractual relationship but the loss was passed onto me the consumer. BEWARE of this rental car company. Anyone who mentions this brand will her of my horrible, exploitive experience with this rental car company!!!

If your lookin for "old school" car rental, this is it! No express access to cars. Everyone must wait at the counter to get their car. The process takes incredibly long. Even if you have other insurance coverage, they try to convince you it isn't adequate. Rent a car in Philadelphia and they tell you that you can not drive it out of state (as in, across the river to NJ). They rip you off on the EZPass reader ($15/day). Ridiculous! No one to greet you at drop off. You have to park the car then walk inside to deliver the keys. Every other car rental service has someone to greet you and print out your receipt. To top it off, on arrival, I saw at 2-3 shuttles from every other rental service pass by before the first Sixt Shuttle arrived. All in all, a lousy experience.

While the reviews for SixT seemed worrisome, I thought it was a great experience. We were upgraded for free since our vehicle was not available. Check in and check out were easy. The shuttle drivers were helpful and respectful with quick service. My only recommendation to improve the product is to make it free to add another driver if they are married couples/life partners, etc. Thank you for making the trip great we enjoyed our vehicle!

Waited over an hour to get picked up by their airport shuttle. Only one shuttle and shuttle driver was being used. This resulted in the shuttle being full and unable to pick us up. Waiting an hour for an airport shuttle in 90 degree weather with 3 small children is a miserable start to your vacation. Once arriving at the car rental store there was no management to take ownership or try to improve the terrible experience. We were told management would contact us during the week we had the rental. This never happened. This was our first experience with this company. We will not be using them again and would recommend others to do the same.

Delight! So pleasantly surprised!!! This German company serves up German cars....you guessed it, Mercedes! And strives for perfection, just like the Germans do....from a Mercedes Can pick up at the airport, to a delightful driver who took our luggage, told me about the weather to expect, to his wishing me a pleasant day. They opened the door for me and offered me a Mercedes Benz (a major upgrade from the common car that I thought I was getting!) Full disclosure, they needed to hold $500 on my Credit card versus the standard $200 to $300. But still....Ummmm, let me think...Yes!!!! Delight is all I can say

I rented a car at the Philadelphia Airport, drove it to New Jersey for a week. The online rental was easy through Expedia. Our physical arrival including the shuttle timing, shuttle drivers, and office staff was all smooth and easy also. The car we got was better than I expected and our return was even better than our arrival. Everyone was very kind, professional, and clear. I will use Sixt again the next time I need a rental car. Orlando Airport Sixt... Great experience, better than Hertz. The shuttle came on-time, it was clean and driver was nice. At the office the staff offered water and a super fast customer service. Restrooms were clean. Nothing fancy, but clean. They set me up with a Suburban in a matter of minutes and the car was new and clean. Honestly, their prices are awesome and the service and quality great. I actually thought they were suspiciously good. But no, they were really great! Keep up with the great service!

I booked this from the UK in GBP with my debit card which SixT accepted. On arrival in orlando they said they could not accept this and I had to pay with a credit card. (you can do this with all other car hire companies in Orlando and leave your CC for incidentals) but No Sixt said they would have to refund me on my Debit card and repay on my CC. I lost £30 on the change rate. They are 20 mins in a bus away and not any cheaper. I would recommend a car hire company onsite of the airport where you don't get fiddled and no hassle of humping bags and suitcases on and off busses in 100 degrees. I gave 2 stars as the cars was ok. But customer service is poor.

Just wanted to start off by saying, I have never written a negative review. Normally, I end up calming down an don't bother. However, I'm still furious. As a flight attendant for a major carrier who travels the world and is constantly renting cars all over, I have never been in a situation like this. I'll make it quick and to the point. - Arrived to Sixt at 2:30pm and walked out at 3:13pm. Took 45 minutes and we were the only ones there. Ended up upgrading and completely overpaid, but by that point we needed to get out on the road asap. I own that over payment. Got a brand new Volvo SUV, had a total of 12 miles. Awesome car. New car smell. We were thrilled. - Fast forward a few days we were deciding to stay another night on our road trip or head back. Called reservations and asked if we returned the car early would we get our money back for the day or a prorated rate "did you prepay" "no" "then it will be fine. You will get your money back." Great! since that is basically how every other car rental agency in America works. - Arrived back in Philly at 5:30pm. Walked in and asked for an updated bill with a prorated rate. "You checked out the car at 3:13pm and you get a 30 minute grace period. It's 5:30pm so you will be charged a full day. Call reservations and they can help you." Still optimistic I agreed and left. Sat on hold for 40 minutes, told the manager the situation, " Nothing I can do. You were past the grace window. Call customer service Monday" Looked at the contract in the meantime and didn't see this issue in the highlighted section. Why am I penalized for your lack of employee training? I was given the wrong information plus we were standing at the counter at pick up for 45 MINUTES and he didn't THINK to say that in his speech? No, not once. I would like for Sixt to look inward and realize the problem is your lack employee training. Needless to say I have cancelled my next 3 reservations who were booked with Sixt. Much rather pay 50.00 more with Hertz and not deal with these headaches and complete waste of time. In the end they gave me 20.00 off for my wait time upon arrival. Not even the point of my situation. They also tried to say that we didn't fill the gas tank, which was a complete and blatant lie. They confirmed when I left that the tank was full and the car had no scratches. The agent ended up reversing the dishonest charge on their part. Beware folks and may the odd be ever in your favor if you rent with them.

Staff was courteous and professional. Renting a car from Sixt was smooth and easy. They didn't have my car option when I arrived but upgraded me to a Mercedes Benz model similar to the vehicle I reserved at no additional cost. Will rent from then again.

Worst car rental ever I have rent many cars but always at enterprise (I'm a platinum member) and I decide to try sixt but it was the first and last time I rent a car from these place, I had place a rental for 1 day for $133/per day for a Benz cla class or similar (luxury) but instead I got a Kia Optima (full size) witch I was fine but this people they give me a lower class for the same price I talk to the employees letting them know that I wasn't happy about these charges and there answer was (oh that's on the manager but we doubt they'll return the difference it's only $16 difference), to what I answer with those $16 I could have pay at enterprise for half of a day of a full size rental ($32/day full size car at enterprise) then if you are 45 minutes late they'll charge you for 1 more full day so make your self a favor rent somewhere else dont let them fool you by the cars they have as pictures on the website, you can get the same cars they have for less $$$$$ at another car rental.

Super bad experience with SIXT in Turks and Caicos islands. I was given the car that had dents and scratches all over the vehicle. The same day it just stopped working - I called all numbers that I found on the keys & manual but no response, so I was left in the middle of nowhere without any support. Luckily my hotel butler helped me to call expensive taxi that got me back to the resort. The car was replaced the next day after my butler called their office for the whole morning. Definitely will not recommend anyone using this service at least at the islands. Will talk to expedia to get the refund for the time & nerves I had there.

Wow, what kind of rental car company isn't 24 hours. I'm writing this in their parking lot waiting for them to open in 2 hours. I've had to reschedule my flight because of this. Their 888 emergency contact number goes straight to an automated machine that offers no assistance. There is no drop off box for this key. They get two stars because the car is nice. Chevy Malibu with touchscreen and android auto which helped me greatly around town. Don't expect help between midnight and six because you're not going to get it. Post edit: after rescheduling my flight and waiting for them to own, the staff was friendly and got me to the airport expeditiously, stating that they're working on getting an after hours drop box for keys.

I have used this car rental company in Dallas and Tampa and Philadelphia and the service is always excellent and everything is superb. Additionally, the prices are right, cars are clean, and the establishments are super clean. Employees are wonderful and very polite and accommodating. Highly recommend this over any other rental car company and I travel extensively.

It was a very informative experience, because we did everything online and went to the location on Frontage Road. Being locals we were given advice to go to the location on West 192 at the Ramada. I have never loathed a rental company more in my life. If negative stars were an option, my rating would be more accurate. We experienced a flat tire during our trip. When we called for roadside assistance, we got the complete run around and were told they’d send someone but we wouldn’t know the cost until we returned the car and we could not dispute it. We ended up patching the tire ourselves with the help of a Good Samaritan. When I called concerning an after hours return and to inquire the process, I was spoken to in the most condescending tone. I’m 100% certain my return will be a nightmare and I will miss my flight. Buyer beware: you get what you pay for. I’ll spend a fortune with a national chain before I’d ever use this company again.

This is the most backwards company. I pre-paid for a car rental with my debit visa car. They accepted my payment. When I went to pick up my car they said we don't accept debit card payments (after they already took money out of my account) and will have to reimburse my card and out it on a credit card. So now my money being reimbursed will be held up for 3-5 business days and I didn't bring a credit card because I pre-paid. So after arguing and getting nowhere my dad had to use his credit card because my family was waiting to leave for Florida. So to stick it to me even more they tacked on an additional $12 a day now because my dad was now on the agreement. Then they tell me I can't drive rental to Florida. So after 2 hours of time I finally got the rental and they so nicely (not) agreed to let me drive to Florida but now the great price I got increased $94 and I had money held from the reimbursement, and my dad had to put out the money. Then they didn't even have a minivan for me and tried to give me a passenger van. So I had to wait till they cleaned a minivan for me. Then I asked for the 5 percent first responder discount and they said it wasn't possible without doing it online. This company is horrible. Definitely never use them again and thought it was very unprofessional they did nothing to help me.

We used to love this branch but the last experience was just horrible! We booked a Premium SUV to go to the Miami airport to meet our friends from a long flight from Europe. Got a very old Mercedes GLS and it showed a check engine light after 25 minutes of driving. We had to return to the Kissimmee branch for an exchange but they didn’t have a similar class car for us. We were sent to the airport branch for an exchange. So we spent 2 hours in this mess and was late to the airport. Next time we booked a car to bring our friends back to the Miami airport and they were late to their flight because of the delay of the car we booked. Pick-up time was 10:45 but we got the car 70 minutes after. They said that it’s a normal situation to wait “up to 60 minutes” (as printed on their PDF, but never shown on Expedia) while they prepare a car to you. They didn’t care that we were in a hurry, the customer service was extremely slow. Be prepared to wait 60-90 minutes and make a reservation with that in mind.

As I usually do, I had used Hotwire app to get me a rental car for the weekend in Philadelphia. When I saw my itinerary and saw a company I did not recognize (Sixt) I was surprised but not in any way worried. Well we were delayed an hour leaving to Philly so I checked the website to make sure of hours of operation. The website said 6am till 10pm , and we expected to land at 9pm even with the delay.I also called their number which prompted me to hit 1 for hours of operation. The automated said 6am till 12 midnight. Either way I felt okay. Well we landed at 903pm and had no boarded luggage so we were curbside waiting for a shuttle at 915pm. We saw one Sixt shuttle go streaming right past us after bout 20 minutes. NEVER STOPPED!!! Every other car rental company..Hertz,Dollar,National,Budget, Thrifty, Enterprise ect had shuttles coming by us every 5 to at most 10 minutes picking up folks at the same #9 stop that our instructions told us to wait at. Finally after waiting close to an hour, we walked to the taxi area and paid almost $14 (11.80 +2.00 tip) for a ride to the SIXT CAR RENTAL which is off site and not near any other rental car company otherwise we would have jumped on one of theirs and walked to the site.This was explained to us by a nice Hertz bus driver who had come around d twice and saw us and was kind to let us know. Once we arrived, we were offered an I am sorry for your issue. She said a manager would contact us tomorrow or sometime in the future and discuss our situation and she mentioned the word credit..Not sure if that was just for the cab fare or something more for our troubles..2 WEEKS LATER...NOTHING..NO PHONE CALL and no acknowledgement of our email generated experience survey was..What's the point of asking for your explanation and experiences if no one truly cares. Hence I am now writing this review on Yelp..See I am in the hospitality business.I am 58 and been making people happy for 40 years, fixing mistakes and helping customers with concerns and also making many 1000's happy with great service and kindness. So I gave this company two weeks to respond and NOTHING. I WILL NEVER recommend SIXT to anyone at this time..Thanks for all who have taken the time to read this..Only reason for 2 stars is the car was a compact and ran perfectly...

I usually dont do bad reviews. I like giving good ones. This was the worse experience ever. Not just for a rental company but any company I have ever dealt with. Took an hour to get my reserved car that they didn't have. They upgraded me to the only option there and charged a $1000 deposit for luxury vehicle. Refunded a week later. Employees were in no hurry to help. The car they gave me the keys for was on the other side of the lot from the numbered parking spot I was told.

Shuttle service much improved since last year. Dedicated van runs frequently , fast friendly service, new clean cars, good prices. Expect delays late afternoon unless you bring print out of reservation, due to their computers being in German time zone. Paper still rules.

There was only one attendant and I had to search for my rental car in the dark. The next night I rented from Sixt and I waited in line for 5 min at 9:30 pm and received great service and help finding my car!

we had a death in PA that we needed to get to asap and after the flights were booked we looked for a rental car company and came across Sixt. we were a little skeptical after seeing the overall two star review but went with it anyway after the last place at PHL dropped the ball three months prior. we waited for the shuttle that never came and thought great here we go and hitched a ride from the driver from dollar( the last place that messed up). After being dropped off we were taken care of by Turquoise who was awesome and walked us threw in no time flat and we even took an upgrade based on her opinion. we were out of there in no time. Thank you to all and we will definitely rent from you again. 5 STARS.....

Always have a good experience renting here. The shuttle driver today had his music playing a little too loud and didn't follow traffic laws. Went right through stop signs without even attempting to slow down getting onto the main road from the rental agency which is a heavily traveled road.

I had initially given them a 5 star review--but since then, after getting a notice charging me with a scratch on the car, I am reducing it to a POOR experience. The car I rented already had a long list of dings and scratches. It all seemed to be in order--I did go back into the rental office because the car smelled like smoke and I didn't want to get charged for that. When I returned the car, the attendant took tons of photos--and about a week later, I was notified that I owed them 400 bucks for a two inch scratch that wasn't of my doing. We eventually got them to drop the claim. In any event, I will never rent from them again. If you DO rent from them, be sure to check EVERY scratch and ding and notify them of ANYTHING that isn't on the list. Or you'll be sorry like I was.

Important Note for first-time car renters: Skepticism is your friend. Always question the options provided to you by someone else. If a car rental person asks "And what insurance plan would you like?", ask them if its optional first before you agree to pay. If you don't ask, you will think it is required and they KNOW this. They will purposely word things in a way that makes things appear to be required and make you pay them more money. The moral of the story is, you don't HAVE to pay for Loss Damage Waivers, which can double the cost of a rental car. This is just another way that the uneducated will be taken advantage of by selfish corporate reasons. Trust no company. They are not in your best interest, they are in theirs. Always question their questions. Another thing to look out for is the unexpected $200 deposit which shows up nowhere online but you will undoubtedly be slapped with in-person when you least expect.

Made a reservation online and prepaid for it. All details were listed online and I paid for the rental and additional fees that added up to more than half the cost of the rental. 2 days after the return, I was finally emailed the receipt and there was another fee that was 2/3 the cost of the rental added on top of the original fees. I called and was told this was an airport concession charge and it was their process to not charge it until check-in(even though it doesn’t say it when you order). So the real scenario is that if you are picking up from an airport, they will charge you twice as much as you online booking. If they tell you about it, you will be at their facility with your family and luggage with no where to go except back to the airport. Busses were lousy and one didn’t have A/C in Los Angeles so you can imagine how hot it was. I will no longer be lured in by false advertising and will use a more reputable company for my future rentals. Other quotes will be higher because they are being honest about their fees.

Very affordable. We got a free upgrade from mid to full size suv. One thing, if you have full coverage on your own vehicle you do not have to buy their coverage. I just double checked with my insurance agent and was good to go. The other learning curve for us was all the toll roads in the Orlando area. You can get the toll package but it was pricey at 6 or 7.99 per day. We just planned ahead and made sure to have lots of quarters on us. Check out was nice and easy too.
