Terrible. The place is way off site from the airport. Their shuttle to 30 mins to come pick us up, then another 20 mins to their facility. Staff was very slow to get us checked out. Upon return we almost missed our flight because they are so far from the airport.

On August the 28th I returned my vehicle I had for 48 hours because I was ripped off and I was disrespected for questioning that. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. They have horrible customer service an horrible at solving any issues having to do with there car or contracts. I thought by going over the employees heads an speaking with a manager maybe I could get my issue solved and with less confrontation. It was just the opposite Manager Penny was very nasty and disrespectful. She did not care what my issue was. All she did was yell tried to fast talk me so I would not get a word in. An then when i kindly explain to her that she was talking to fast and tripping over her words and I couldn't understand her an I needed to her to repeat what she said I then was threatened by her. She also told me she doesn't even have the time to deal with my issue because she's on her way to a wedding. Which my reply was, I don't need to know what's going on in your personal life. Right then an there I understood why her employees thought that this is the way they do business. This is the right way to treat a costumer. She sets the tone. Not to mention when I dropped off the car the car the Male employee Daniel tried to RIP my child carseat out the the car while I was in motion to un hook all the straps that were connected the correct way. He stated I was taking too long he trying to leave work which was 1 1/2 before closing time ...If u need a rental try ENTERPRISE, they always have great customer service an very pleasant and wonderful at solving issues. Please don't waste your money your time here you will regret it.

Rhonda treated us like family right from the start. The pickup from the airport and drop off was quick and easy. The car we rented, I'll just say this, I need to buy me a hyundai elantra!! Here's the 5 star earner right here, I left my oakly sunglasses in the car by accident, called them up and amazingly they were returned to the the lost and found and arrangements were easily made for their prompt return back to me! When I come back to philly next year I know where to rent a car again!

Had complained about how my license was cut and stipulated it was a fake license and that they couldn't rent me car because of the doubt they had. My license is genuine and has been issued like that. There should be a way to verify license besides tilting them towards a light.

Pat and crew are awesome to deal with. Always seem to remember us even if it has been a year or two, BUT didn't appreciate the dirty fabric on the seats front and back in the black Impala . Seems like a little shampooing would have been good. Did like airport pickup and delivery.

I heard about this place from my coworkers in the beginning I was very very worried about renting from this company because of the name it self. However I went to this particular location a very pleasant persons stood out to me when I walked threw their door I was extremely welcome, I felt very comfortable and the customer service that this young lady provided to me was phenomenal. She told me that her name is La Faye, and she rented me a vehicle that was very clean and nice. Be very, very careful about what you order as a vehicle through here. Apparently their prices do not match online versus in person. Got a compact (which we ordered a Medium-sized sedan), and they tried charging us way more than what we ordered through their site.

Slime ball service - had a reservation for a church and had it re-confirmed over the phone before the pick up date. They gave the van to someone else and were condescending about it when confronted. Fortunately there are a ton of rental places in the area, all customers should steer clear of this place and use one of the reputable rental places.

The most ridiculous place I have ever seen, reserved a car online, when I came to pick up the car I have been told they don't have the car I reserved so "they are sorry" and tried to upsell me a X2 price car. Two slow, lazy and unrespectful desk representative that have no idea how to use a computer, this place is a joke. When I initially saw this place, I thought who would rent a car from some place with a name like that??? Unfortunately we had car issues and none of the big rental places had a car. We called Rent-a-Wreck and they had plenty cars. I thought because it was a small business that there would be a lot of paperwork but it was a few signatures a inspection of the car and we were done. The rate was ok. They sell cars too, thought that was a plus. The guys there were really nice. We even rented for another day. Since we were looking for cars the CSR informed us that the car we rented was for sale so we actually got to test drive for a couple of days and consider a sale. I really liked them, we will definitely rent from them again.

To be honest I'll never rent here again. No one informed me about the $156 deposit. I was charged some other fees as well once I returned the vehicle. But you live and you learn right? Smh. The only positive thing i have to say about this place is Ms. Penny. She was nice even when both me and my husband yelled and complained about the extra money.

It was horrible... I got the car without a full tank and was charged for not filling the tank back up... They offered me to go to the gas station and fill it up so I did, when I can back they said my tank still wasn't filled (the tank was literally filled at the top line) then charged me anyway! Not only did I fill the tank they still charged me the fee for not filling it. Then kept an extra $35 and couldn't give me a reason why!

The people here were nice. The car was clean and in good condition, NOT A WRECK. But 2-stars only as it was not a truly less expensive option. Upon returning the car, there was no shuttle to the Midway airport. We had to pay $15 for a Lyft. The rental also had only 75 miles free.

On Friday 09/01/2017 we rented from here to go to South Carolina to visit (2) two elderly very sick relatives as I was traveling Highway 77 South I had a very bad blowout that could have ended my live due to a faulty bad tire (right front passenger) North Carolina's Police and Rent-A-Wreck third-party roadside assistance came and looked at the tire, they both agreed it was a faulty tire. Also when trying to place the donut spare on the vehicle it was seized on to the axle so they had to beat it off with a sledgehammer. I highly recommend that no one rents from this establishment.

The car was ok except the tire sensor was broken and I had to inquire about it (they knew and didn’t bother to tell me). The windshield wipers were bad and that wasn’t great in snow but the worst part of my experience is that there are toll roads in Chicago (first time there and had no clue). I ended up missing a couple of them and when I told the guy in the front office he said oh, you can pay the 8.95 a day and it will cover it. Well that’s all great except I paid almost every toll and had I known that I could purchase the 8.95/day pass I wouldn’t have paid at all and would’ve just purchased the pass. When I asked him why he didn’t tell me about the pass he said “we don’t know where you’re going”. Lame! There was a small sign posted in the lobby on the side of the wall so my bad for not seeing it. I will not use this company again and will stick with more reputable companies in the future. Lesson learned. I ended up paying an extra $44.95 plus probably another $10.00 in tolls that I paid.

Personally I’d have to give Rent-A-Wreck 5 big stars, the staff there are very professional, friendly and understanding I felt right at home and honestly as long as I have been renting vehicles from them I have never had any issues. I was always well taken care of and the vehicles I rented were very nice, clean and affordable, new and drove great from my experience. This was my first time using this company. The customer service was exceptional. The gentlemen I worked with were both very information, helpful, personable, and kind. I appreciated the fact they called me prior to my flight to confirm details, as well as picked me (and my heavy luggage - of which they assisted with loading into the van) up and personally drove me to their location and back to the airport when returning. The car itself was is decent shape to what I could see. I would use this company again.

I had rented a car from them and the tire light was on the first day that I got it and when I made them aware of what was going on with the car they charged me the tire and and another car rental after they sent me to their Body shop and said that I went pass my grace period all because I was waiting on the car to get looked at ........and in pass rental they tried to charge ppl for smoke being in the cars when they should have check the car first.....by far the worst experience EVER .....won't be going there anymore

I rented a car from them for 1 day before I took the car back I got it cleaned just trying to be nice and thoughtful because I had a bunch of kids in the car for Halloween night so when I took the car back they told me they have to charge me for a smoking fee because the car smelled like grapes.not smoke but grapes so then the store manager miss penny tell me to give it 24hours to see if a smoke smell pop up through the grape smell.so I went back 24 hours later and I was informed to not clean or spray the car again before I brought it back and that I wasent being charged 150 for the grape Smell cause 24hours later there was still no smoke smell in the car.so 2days later they charge my bank card for the 150 anyway and then tell me the manager is on a business trip that I won't be getting no money back no matter what I say or do the assistant manager was so rude and disrespectful I don't recommended this location to anyone

I love that they provide shuttle service to and from Midway Airport. The desk staff is extremely nice and personable. The locks on the vehicle we rented would randomly lock and would not let the passengers out until I pressed the unlock button three to four times. The car was fairly clean except for the glass in the trunk. Despite the hiccups with the car, we will probably rent from them again on our next trip to Chicago.

Definitely a place to avoid, even with the cheaper prices. I made a rental reservation with them during Christmas because it was by far the cheapest option. They are not in the airport directly and I knew that going in, and the site is not far from the airport at all. When we arrived and I called to tell them I needed a shuttle, I was told that they do not have any cars. "...But I made a reservation." " Yea, sorry we don't have any cars." I hung up and dialed the corporate line and was told by the corporate rep that he would call, but since they are independent franchises, there wasn't much he could do at corporate. A few minutes later, they call and tell me they found a car for me and sent a shuttle. When we got there, I was filling out the necessary paperwork with one of the reps and the owner is nearby tell us how "lucky we were that someone returned a car." Anyway, car ran fine, no problems with billing or anything like that. But we found out that they do not have a 24 hour shuttle service, only during their business hours. So if you have a flight before they are open, you are on your own. They also, do not have a drop box. So since we had a 6am flight, we had to drop off the car during business hours the day before and get a ride to the airport that morning. Overall, the only way I can recommend using this service is if you are flying in and flying out during business hours and you can get some sort of written guarantee there will be a car available when you make the reservation.

I rented a cargo van in the spring to move my daughter from college. The staff was friendly and professional. I had the van for three days. The van was relatively new, and I had a trouble free trip to my destination and back. Some of the negative reviews are nasty and irrational; others are cause for concern. No vehicle should leave the establishment with a tire defect (Holly Cotter) and the excessive cleaning fee (Chris Montcalmo) should be merited. My rating, however, is based solely on my experience which has been positive and productive.

STEER CLEAR. Sleazy customer service - I arrived to find two different customers fighting with management about separate cases of fraud on the rental company’s part. The on-site manager was rude, shouted at the customers, and did not solve their problem. The car I received was a tin can with broken speakers and manual locks/windows/mirrors/seats. I had a special situation and even though the computers were going crazy (seemed like each time I stopped in), they were able to accommodate me from beginning to end. The manager at the location is way cool and I didn't have any issues with my rental. He went above and beyond in getting my rental completed in fast time. My organization and I will continue our business here. I know many locations in other states get a bad rep but it's the people who make the difference and this location set the bar for me in car rental. The other places check credit and freeze deposits way too much for a three day rental and all that does nothing because great credit holders do more harm in many cases then some good hearted deserving people. Realistically, we wanted to save money...but does that mean safety doesn't come first? Before renting from this company I went to their company website to do some research. "Rent-A-Wreck", really? The name should have tipped me off but the explaination for the company name gave me hope that it was just catchy marketing. When we landed at Midway International Airport, per our print out reservation, we were told to call the office and someone would come pick us up. An unmarked car, and driver without a uniform, came and got us after reaching us on our cell phone. The drive was about 10/15 minutes from the airport due to traffic. When we got to our destination, we went over the basic paperwork, gave our $100 deposit and proceeded to do an inspection of the car that was pulled up for us. We walked around the car noting multiple scratches, dings and dents. Once in the car, and ready to drive off, a strong perfume smell tried to cover up the non-smoking policy someone had previously ignored. On the dirty/sticky side, we tried to keep an open mind about the next 5 days we'd have this car. In summary...the first day, the control panel on the right passenger door came up when my boyfriend wanted to control his window. The second day, the right windshield wiper flew off while driving in light rain. We wanted to return the car and get another one, but didn't want to take valuable time away from our family vacation. On the third day, the AC started making a loud clicking noise when first starting the car. Throughout the week, the car would "kick back" when trying to accelerate, eventually showing a red light on the dashboard. By the fourth day, it was just plain comical. We were thankful we left really early and were able to drop off the car on the last day of our trip. After waiting 45 minutes, we finally got a ride back to the airport with another disappointed couple, with just enough room to squeeze in our luggage. All in all, we will not be renting a car from this company again in the future.

Although, they did not rent me a "wreck" (car), the customer service and the management experience was a complete "wreck" in my opinion. On October 9th 2017 the first day I ran across Rent-A-Wreck in Hammond was actually one of the best car rental facilities I've ever been to. The service was very speedy and comfortable unlike on this very day I was very upset with renting or trying to rent a vehicle with Enterprise and the poor treatment that they gave me. I went over to rent a wreck and the compassion and excellent customer service was definitely there starting with Le Fay her excellent customer service and compassion and Speedy service help me in such away I could never rent from anyone else but this company from here on out also after returning the rental vehicle Louie which is another associate and salesman there as well was very very excellent with helping me purchase a vehicle from the company which I did not know can happen and happen in such a way it was nothing but a blessing to me because honestly I did not know if I will be able to get a car in such a short period Of time to be able to continue to go to work and provide for my children and family I just want to say thank you to you guys you are the best rental car facility I've been to and I will continue to recommend everyone I know who needs service like this to come to this location.

They did a great job handling the transportation to/from the airport (just call the number when you land). It's definitely a low budget car rental place as the name implies, but the guy running it hustled and delivered great customer service. Well done.

There are no words to express what an awful experience I had, but I'll try. First of all, when I arrived to pick up the cargo van I'd reserved, they tried to charge me MORE than the price they'd quoted over the phone (a LOT more). I asked to speak with the manager and discovered the very rude woman I was dealing with WAS the manager (the owner might want to re-think that decision). When I got in the cargo van, I was told to ignore the low tire pressure light... that the van had been checked out and it was a technical glitch. However, when I stopped at a gas station 2 miles away to check the air pressure (I wasn't about to do highway driving without making sure) I discovered - not only was the air pressure low... but there was a nail in the tire (can you say "blowout')! I called and was told I'd have to pay the have the tire fixed myself. When I said forget it it... I would just return the van, they finally said I could take it next door and they'd pay to get the tire fixed. I've rented from other Rent A Wrecks before without any trouble. But, not only did they try to rip me off and treat me like dirt... they LIED about checkout out the vehicle and, if I hadn't checked it out myself, their lie would probably have gotten me killed.

Rent a wreck turned out to be a little on the nerve-wracking side. Dave picked me up at the airport as promised in a nice elderly Impala.However, the check engine light came on a few hours later and turned itself off three days later. Most annoying was being told when I returned the car that there was no one available to take me to the airport. Airport rides in both directions were part of the rental terms so I was upset. Eventually the nice man who was filling in that day closed the shop to give me a ride. Renting from this place was cheap but it didn’t enhance my vacation. PS they close at noon Saturday and have to make special arrangements if your plane is late. Also the owners should have known there was an airport ride needed that morning and informed their substitute.

We arrived into IL for my husband's graduation on Thursday when I went to Dollar to retrieve my car fory reservation that I had places at least a month in advance I was denied from a soft credit check! I'm so glad I didn't pay prior to our arrival in IL. All cars in the rental area at the airport were SOLD OUT due to graduation and a hockey game. Thankfully a woman at Alamo knew of a man at a nearby rental place. She called Derek and he picked us up within 15 mins. SAVE yourself problems, inconveniences, time and MONEY. Do NOT rent a car from this company. Prices offered are cheaper and therefore attractive, however, they will end up charging you made-up fees for ridiculous reasons. In my case, I rented the car for a weekend (3 days), drove it around downtown and Orland Park. They came up saying that because I had the "Kayak rate" I had only 75 miles/day to drive the car. This is absolutely stupid, particularly with the distances you cover back and forth from downtown to Naperville, LaGrange, Lisle, etc. You can easily make more than 75 miles a day. I returned the car a day before, filled up the tank full even when they gave it to me 7/8. My wife and I made it to their location, I took an Uber to the airport because I was not going to wait for their shuttle, so my wife returned the keys. They assessed me a 500 DOLLARS for a non-authorized driver with no further explanation and no receipt. The guy in the front desk belittled my wife and shut her off saying "have a nice day" with no opportunity to discuss such a robbery. Once I made it to the airport, I called the front desk and there was no way to reason with them. They had already closed my contract and charged me for no reason, allegedly because my wife was not on the contract when all she did was returning the car. These people operate ILLEGALLY because their business dissolved. Also, aside from charging extra mileage when the contract clearly stays 150/day, they would seek any opportunity to charge more. I had to call the bank and see if I could dispute this unfair charge. I wish I could've called the police to solve this issue, but I was already in the airport.

Rent A Wreck customer service was outstanding! My relative just relocated to NJ from Portland Oregon, to take a new job. She attempted to rent a vehicle from Enterprise and they said without a return ticket, they could not rent? Thank goodness for the nice gentleman at Rent A Wreck they got my relative situated in a really nice vehicle for 99 dollars a week (until her car is shipped to her) cant say enough good things about this family owned and operated outfit!!

Got me from point A to point B when I was in a bind. I got to Bangor Airport with a car rental reservation only to be denied from a horrible company with very rude employees due to the fact that I use a debit card, even though I had more than enough for the rental and the insurance to cover the car. Pat and his crew really came through when I thought I would be stranded without a vehicle, allowing me to rent an old Impala with my debit card and a simple license and insurance check. The best part is that it ended up costing me much less than that other place. I would definitely rent from them again.

If you value your time and money DO NOT PATRON THIS ESTABLISHMENT !!!!!. There is so many ways I can start to explain this nightmare and every time I try to I get a migraine. First the staff there is filled with too much estrogen and bitchy females ( they are not mature enough no matter how old they all look to be called women). Then they did not give me the car I chose on my reservation although is was a convenient size so I left filled up the tank (47.12 496 miles to empty good enough to get me to where i needed to be without stopping) as I waited I checked my receipt as I was putting it in the glove box. And well well well thanks Rent-a-wreck pigs you charged me the price I was quoted but not the days I reserved (this reservation was done over the phone with headquarters). So I went back and after over an hour of telling the idiots of my proof of email confirmation sent and that I was in the building in their faces at the time I was scheduled to be there. They gave a the smallest clown car they had that was 3/4 (219 miles to empty)of the way full with gas. I was explaining that the clown car is technically only half a tank of gas to the puggy girl with the dark hair. The manager decided that she wanted to smoke meth or whatever she suddenly decided was more important than to fix the mess she and her staff messed up. Then after hours passed a worker by the name of RYAN said he'll fix everything just come back at the end of the rental contract and he'll issue a refund. WELL WELL WELL NO REFUND !!!! I was only given back my deposit the money I spent for the gas that was suppose to refunded (42.00) was not given to me. This is the worst place to do business. The employees are rude and kept yelling and talking over me. The manager left and didn't want to offer a resolution. The worst place ever. The BBB will know about this scam.

Overcharged me they are corrupt. My lawyers are already working on it. They claim they charged me a certain amount and charged me over 150 more plus 100 in cash which by the way was not in the contract. Don’t go here. You will regret it. The cars don’t even work they break down. Windows locks revers trans all doesn’t work. And they still overcharge you. Staff knew they were corrupt so they kept hanging up because they couldn’t come up with an excuse fast enough.

Took a trip to Florida. Caught a flat in Carolina and they told me I would be reimbursed. Just bring the old tire back. Bought the insurance from them. Had the tire in the car with my luggage the whole trip. Get back and they made me eat the bill. Never will rent from them again. There corporate office said they would get back to me and never did. Call the person in charge. Only get the voicemail. He only called back once after being threatened by a lawsuit.

Orbitz has it priced at $23 a day. Go there and they say it’s $108 for a day if not flying in/out of Midway yet that is not advertised. That price change needs to be advertised so people won’t waste their time. Update 6:32pm: 1/17/19. Then such an unprofessional response from a likely unprofessional individual. Your facility also should not smell of cigarettes when customers walk in.

I have to give yall 1 star. My child's father tried to get a rental and went to pick it up. They wouldn't allow him to get a rental because of a hidden fee that should've been added in the total cost when charged online. He went to cancel the rental which was in the 48 hour allowance time. It's been almost 30 days and yall still sitting on his money. He was in a car accident and needed a vehicle to get to work so he could get the rest of the money. Yall wont work with us and the female rep even told me to "stop talking to her" when i kindly asked her a question and giving us the run around even after I came up with the rest of the money! Despite the name, we rented a very nice car at a reasonable price. It's a little ways from MDW but definitely worth it. The only drawback is you must return the car to the same location, but if that's not a problem for you, use this place.

If you do not have a Maryland state driver's license, you are unable to get insurance for the car you want to rent and they won't rent a car without full coverage insurance, so as an out of state driver I was unable to rent a car from this establishment.

Need a rental at the last minute just to get from point A to B, this is the place. When all the major rental places were out of vehicles, my LAST thought was Rent-A-Wreck! Don't let that name fool you though. They may not have those newer cars everyone craves, but they're just as good. Plus, you can buy the cars if you're interested in the one you rented at that time. Their rates are outstanding and their customer service is excellent. I bought their gas package so I would not have to fill up the car when I returned it. Also if your going to be using toll roads, buy their toll package. And it's worth it to buy their collision insurance so you can have peace of mind. All that combined is still considerably cheaper than the other rental car companies.

The number of 5-star reviews here is highly suspicious. Compare the review distribution with any other car rental place to see what I mean. Buyer beware. They forced me to buy "loss of use" insurance on top of what I paid online to reserve the car. Never had to pay this for any other car rental and would have gone with a different company had I known about this. Disappointing lack of transparency. Take your money elsewhere. Also, they are a good bit farther from the airport than the other Midway car rental companies. UPDATE: This is a reply to Kyle. 1) I remember very clearly that before the extra "loss of use" insurance, I was only saving $10 over 6 days compared with other car rental companies. With the "loss of use" insurance factored in, I ended up paying $40 more than I would have with the another car rental company at Midway. So if you are considering renting from here, do factor this extra cost in when comparing prices. I certainly was not saving "double if not triple" or "hundreds". 2) I'm not sure what the difference is between "forced" and "mandatory." 3) In traffic, it can take 30 minutes to go between Midway and the rental site. We waited over 40 minutes for the shuttle. It was during rush hour. On our return trip it was an easy 10 minute ride.

They added a $71 extra charge onto my total for booking through Kayak, when I did NOT book through Kayak. I've been worried about this for 3 weeks now, and I've called them 4 times to clarify. Each time I call they say to call back when a manager gets in, or they'll call me back within 14 days (but they never did after I waited 14 days). FINALLY after weeks, I get through to a manager and she says the charge was for the miles I put on the car. This is understandable, but this business doesn't behave professionally and my attempts to contact them with simple but serious questions are completely disregarded. Would not rent here again, and I hope they take their customer service more seriously.

We had a terrible experience here. We rented a 15-passenger van for our teenage daughter's birthday dinner. When we returned the van, they tacked on an extra $100 excessive cleaning fee due to "pet hair removal and odor." We had NO pets in the vehicle! I thought it smelled a little funny when I first picked it up, but didn't give it much thought. When we went to return it, the manager went to inspect the odometer and said all the "pet hair" gave him an allergy attack. When I said I didn't think I should have to pay $100 for an animal we didn't have in the vehicle, the girl behind the counter said, "You have no CHOICE but to pay the fee." I didn't see any pet hair in the vehicle. Who knows how often they get away with this kind of thing? I have since disputed the extra $100 with my credit card company. Steer clear of Rent-A-Wreck!

STAY AWAY. THEY TREATED A VETERAN LIKE TRASH. This was the most disgusting experience I've ever seen in ANY professional place EVER. They have 0 communication skills or customer service skills.. extremely ignorant. Hung up the phone on my stepfather after yelling at him when he was being 100% civil. My Step-father rented a car here (remind you he is a VETERAN) and they were completely faulty and misinformed the entire time of his rental experience. They gave him a rate and then in the middle of the week claimed an employee put it in the system wrong so it would actually be MORE MONEY than what he originally was paying.. they should have honored that they gave a customer the wrong rate and not inconvenience them by then blowing up their cell phone calling back to back while somebody is at work because THEY made a mistake. They did apologize but it meant nothing because they were having issues and had to keep calling multiple times. No phone etiquette.. Just like hoodrats. (and it's Not color thing because all colors in there were nasty) On top of everything.. THIS IS WHAT WAS REALLY MIND BLOWING... I'm mainly writing this review because I went with him to take the car back to make sure after everything he was telling me that they weren't nasty to him or anything of the sort. I walk in with him, stay for a while and go back to wait in my boyfriends car... I run my own small business and as a professional I would personally roll over and call myself a failure operating a joke of a business like this location. We leave and about 40 mins later they are calling my stepfather claiming I drove the car onto the lot and no one else was suppose to be driving!!! UM?? Are you guys crazy? Do you guys need the money because of your bad business??? We came in TWO separate cars.. Why would you blantaly bother us again with a LIE? There's cameras on the property...please check them before misreprenting me. "Manager" was non empathic and being overly aggressive to my stepfather when yet again THEY WERE IN THE WRONG because he indeed himself drove the car to the location. I would never recommend this place to anybody rented a car for birthday vacation on our way got pulled over on expressway and hounded for 1hr because the plates on car was expired got lots of tickets in different state when I came back from my weekend vacation on the way to return car got pulled over again for same issue expired plates car was towed to impound and had to find a ride in cold next day went on to explain what happened with car they called us liars even tho we showed tickets when we told them plates were expired they pulled out their own paper work that showed plates weren't expired but we had tickets showing they were they wouldn't let me get my 700.00 deposit bk because car was towed due to their plates being expired employees were very rude and not helpful also seen that this was not the 1st incident of this kind wish I would've done my research before renting. 700.00 is a lot for a single mother to just lose the prices were reasonable but this is not a good business will never refer anyone here

I have used Rent A Wreck twice for some short day trips to Wisconsin. Not wanting to put any more miles on my car, Mohammed and his staff have consistently treated me with the best customer service. They also make things real easy, I am literally in and out of this location in 5 minutes. And their cars are very nice! Do not let the Rent a Wreck name scare you away! I took a last minute flight to Chicago, and because I didn't have a credit card, no one was willing to give me a rental. A family member referred me to Rent-A-Wreck. I looked online at the reviews and I was a bit uncertain, but I was wrong. From my first phone call to me returning my vehicle, Derrick was there to assist. He worked hard to ensure that I got a quality vehicle at a reasonable rate, and my deposit was back in my account before I even had a chance to check my account balance. If you're ever in need of a rental and you don't have a credit card, go to Rent-A-Wreck and they'll take care of you!

They over book appointments.... the Mexican lady who drives the tan suv is a lier also the manager... they told me that they pre authorize your payment which is a lie .. she said once i drop the car off the money will go back on your card similar to the gas station..so i drop the car off then her story changes like it will take 3-4 days and i asked the dummy 5 times before she swiped my card... so now i have to wait for my 500 bucks extra they charged me... cars are horrible... key got stuck in ignition and car wouldn’t turn back on.... cars are dirty ... whatever you do dont use them save your self the hassle unless its ur only choice... wish I could give them 0 stars

My experience at this location this pass weekend was horrible staff person (Val& James) were very rude and nasty. I received a phone call from them both in regards to my rental car cover threw my insurance company and coverage had stopped as of the day before at 6pm. I had been made aware of this by my insurance company after the hours of business from Rent-A- Wreck. Val called me at 8:30am the following morning stated if I didn't return my rental by 2pm that day she, would be filing a police report for theft and I would be charged with a felony theft. Prospective auto renters BEWARE! Do not give these people your business. They are corrupt and will overcharge you for everything, including every mile you drive. The rental cars are in bad shape and very unsafe to drive. Look elsewhere and go with a well known car rental company you can trust or else be prepared for disappointment. Still disputing many unauthorized charges and owner Khalil aka “Kal A” has been very unprofessional and disrespectful when attempting to resolve issues. They ARE CORRUPT THIEVES. Stay away from these snakes unless you want to be another victim.

If I could give this place -5 stars I would. Everything started with them renting a reserved car that I have paid for. I was telling them that if I paid to reserve that they can’t rent it to anyone else till I’m done with my reservation. Things went down when they try to force me to pay for an upgradtion of $20 a day for a small KIA suv and they threaten me to leave to property other wise I’ll be kicked out by the police. Thought I was going to rent a car and it felt like being in a landfill.

STAY AWAY- Terrible business. They added several bogus charges onto my credit card after the return. Customer service was terrible, not interested in resolving anything or providing any level of decent customer service. Someone else's "thieving" comment is spot on. Your rental from here will be a crappy car, and can end up costing twice as much or more as the original rental agreement. You will save money and much peace of mind to rent from a standard reputable car rental agency that cares about repeat business.

I would never recommend this rental company. I booked through Expedia for a rental for 2 weeks with unlimited mileage and I paid for the insurance online beforehand to save money when we went to pick up. When we went to pick it up we were told it was 120 miles a day and if we went over it was charged per mile so we weren’t able to go see New York like we had intended. Also when we received the car it had low tire pressure and she told us to go fill it with air at the nearest gas station, like that was our problem? Then we were charged $280 for insurance which I confronted the lady about when we went to return the car and told her I had purchased beforehand to which she told me it was already processed and nothing she could do about it, like refunds aren’t an option most likely because the money was already spent. Horrible service and complete lies when you book online.
