Had a bit of a mixed bag experience. Was given a better car than I had paid for, but was not helped after I exited the Sixt desk. No employees were around in the carpark except for one stationed at the exit, no one asked me for help or went over the inspection with me, and I was not provided any form to write any additional damage on. I was then blindsided on return by an accusation a clearly existing small dent was created by me. That employee was very helpful, but I'm still waiting to determine whether I have to fight with the company over damages. Overall I'd rate them just below average at this specific location.

Plenty of friendly agents to wait on you. Clean cars. Tip- the pick up place at the terminal is with all the other car rental agencies, but it is the furthest sign and the letters are super small. . Do yourself a favor and stay inside the terminal and exit the last door to find where you wait to be shuttled. Also if you are from out of town be sure to get return location address. You may need this address to find the place at the end of the rental. It is about 10 minutes out from the DIA terminal and not with the other car rental agencies. . The price was better than all the others so I gave them a try. Glad I did!


Luis transported us from the Sixt drop-off location to the airport. Luis is warm, inviting, has kind eyes, a wonderful smile, and he is very professional without coming off snooty. His politeness and the respect he showed us made him stand out among all previous shuttle drivers. Thank you, Luis!

Was a bit confusing to get to the counter to pick the car up - but that was my fault! Sixt sent a great email with directions. Be sure to pay attention to it as it was easy as soon as I actually read it. Once I got there, Ashley H. checked me in and was great. I've had such bad experiences with other car rental places in Denver, but Sixt was so good this time that I'll only rent with them if I have the option!


Josh in the Denver office was great. Offered a nice upgrade on a vehicle and good advice on directions and local toll road issues. Sixt had a good selection of higher end rentals and good rates. Very satisfied with my experience and will look for them in the future.

This was my first time ever renting a vehicle. I am only 21 years old so it was hard trying to find a facility that didn't charge an arm and a leg with their "young renters fee." Sixt was the cheapest that I could find which is what led me to rent from them and I am extremely happy that I did. We had no issues with the shuttle bus. It was easy to find both ways. The drivers were also pleasant. We were assisted by a gentleman named Lucas F who was extremely kind and informative. The employees were very welcoming, all working with a smile on their face which truly makes a difference. I was able to get a free upgrade due to the vehicles that I had selected were all in service. I ended up getting a Volkswagen Atlas. I had no issues with the vehicle so I am not sure how well the facility handles issues as such but I am sure they are also great in that aspect as well. I highly recommend this rental facility. There definitely needs to be more locations!

Do not rent from this company! We returned to Colorado for a doctor's appointment for my wife and drove the car from Denver to Vail and back, making no other use of the car. Upon returning the car, it was fully inspected by their employee at their rental facility and NO DAMAGE was found, as NO DAMAGE was had occurred. This morning, a week from having returned the vehicle, we receive an email stating that there were scratches in the rear bumper. This is clearly a fraudulent attempt at exacting additional payment from their customers beyond what is authorized. Save your money, your insurance rating and your peace of mind and avoid this company at all costs!

I was a bit apprehensive because of the negative reviews and the price. However, my overall experience with Sixt was amazing. The shuttle was prompt and on time, you can also track them online. The woman at the front desk (Megan, I believe is her name) was friendly and efficient. The Jeep I rented was extremely clean and worked flawlessly. Return was a breeze, in and on a shuttle literally within 5 mins. Will definitely use Sixt again. Just note that there is $200 deposit, this is stated on the website so it wasn't that big of an issue.

Another wonderful experience. The car return process is always super-fast and easy. Pull up, give them the keys, and by the time you get your luggage out of the trunk you sign their little phone/tablet device and walk away. Usually the pickup process is just as easy and fast, but this time at the Denver airport location there were 30 people in front of me in line. That added a wait of 36 minutes before I got to the counter. Once at the counter though, it was a fast and friendly experience. Sign a couple of forms, not high pressure to buy additional insurance or upgrades, here's the keys, there's your car, enjoy! Easy and efficient. The same goes for their Seattle location.

Experience was decent. We had to wait quite long to rent and return the vehicle. The staff were friendly. Although, returning to the airport, our driver was Bernard N. A very nice driver who I got to practice speaking Swahili with!

If you're wondering what Sixt stands for, it's "Bait and Switch". Rented a car at Denver 6-22-19. First of all it's not near most "real" rental car company locations at DIA, but way off property. Secondly when we get there, there's a pretty long line. Not that big a deal except line isn't moving. Several people in line complain at the time it's taking. When we finally get to counter, we learn why it took so long. Every customer at counter, including us, are being told the car they thought they had rented was not available. We were told they only had one model left in that class. They vehicle clearly wasn't the same class as what we thought we had booked. The agent immediately goes into hard sell about how she could upgrade us into the next class. They also inform me that my if my wife will be driving they need to charge an extra $90. Avis, Budget and Enterprise do not charge for this. In total frustration, I demand a refund. They inform me that since I prepaid the reservation, no refund can be provided. So what initially was supposed to cost $500 ended up costing $788. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! THEY ARE CROOKS!

Do not rent from this location. My experience at other Sixt locations has been very good. This one could not have been worse. Ashley, the rental agent, went nuts and refused to rent me a car. This after a 45 minute wait in line. My crime? I asked her what I was being asked to sign. “I’ll get my manager” turned into 10 minutes of her looking for the manager and talking to her on the phone resulting in her “declining” to rent me the car. She refused to provide a reason. The Sixt location is so far from the airport (or anything else for that matter) that you can’t believe it.

Words cannot explain how sixt car rental operates. I’ve rented cars from this brand for as long as I can remember. I can’t say that that it’s always gone smoothly, but I can say that every time I’ve ever had an issue they have resolved it the best way possible. Simply put I always walk away happy. The cars that they offer are amazing with decent rates. You may pay the same amount or slightly more here, but you walk away with a much nicer car. Staff in my experience have always been amazing, helpful, and seeking your happiness. Rent here, you will be happy you did.

We had a fabulous experience with our first rental at Sixt in Denver. Had never heard of the company before renting via hotwire and would recommend. Staff was all very friendly and helpful and stayed open to serve a few of us coming in very late after closing time due to delayed flights. Was grateful we were able to rent at midnight and appreciated the positive smiling faces that greeted us. Easy to use and shuttle was timely despite late hour.

I specifically rented from Sixt because they had a guaranteed model with a Jeep Wrangler. When we arrived at the rental center in Denver there were no Wranglers. We took the “upgraded” vehicle that was offered to us because there was no other choice. What I want to know is what does “guaranteed model” actually mean?? If I knew I was not going to get a Jeep I would not have rented from Sixt. And I’m not sure that I’ll rent from them again if somehow this situation isn’t rectified. The agent at the counter was not apologetic at all and seemed to have no concerns that they weren’t living up to the “guarantee”. The vehicle we were given may have a fancy brand name but it is not the vehicle we needed for our rental and I certainly did not consider it an upgrade. Also when we got on the shuttle at the airport, it reeked of cigarette smoke because the driver was standing right at the door smoking. UPDATE: Customer service is non existent and if I could give negative stars I would. They claim that they don’t guarantee models but my reservation says differently. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY!

I walked in shortly after making my renter car reservation and was greeted by the Manager. I forget her name, but the service was amazing. Please ignore all the negative comments. This place is amazing! They didn’t have the car I reserved, but worked effectively to get me a suitable car. My child and his friends had an amazing time shadowing at all the High Schools and universities.

Waiting time took a while! The space itself was very small. Some people had to form a line outside because the line inside was full (which with luggage and all would hold about 6-7 people). Only reason why I’d give it a 4/5. Other than that obtaining the vehicle was fairly easy, staff was very friendly. Our rental was in good condition inside and out with very few damage. Highly enjoyed the Jeep throughout our trip. Return process was easy as well!!! And shuttle was waiting as soon as we pulled up... by the time they go over and inspect the vehicle, load your luggage, and head over to the airport... all done in 15-20min which is great time to me!!

We didnt get the car we asked for, not in the best location, didnt feel safe, no WiFi available at offices to book uber when leaving, staff at the end were quite rude, they charged twice since i booked with debit and not credit card so waiting for refund of deposit which was $1000 and the payment back onto my debit card.

Renting from the Denver airport location right now. First vehicle was dirty inside and out. We understand the dust on the outside (local construction) but that didn't excuse the filth of the interior. I then asked for a different vehicle. Corey (I believe to be a supervisor) reluctantly found another cleaner vehicle, unfortunately the brakes went out on us about 5 miles from the airport and we just barely avoided a major accident! We had to sit on the side of the road for an hour and a half waiting for a replacement even though we were less than 10 minutes away from the rental office. To make a bad situation even worse, we were never contacted by the Denver location (The only form of available communication had to be through an out of town call center) with any updates on the replacement or an apology. Bottom line, I would very strongly not recommend Sixt.

I've used Sixt in the past and preferred it over others. But never again in Denver. The wait for the shuttle was almost 30 minutes, in the cold. Repeatedly we saw drop-off shuttles circling through and returning people from returning their cars. We tried to speak to a driver she just waved us away. We even watched their live shuttle trackers, showed a continuous flow of shuttles to the terminal but none to pick us up, and there was quite a group by that time. I tried to call the office but the ridiculous automated call system didn't connect me to a human before the shuttle actually arrived. Once we finally arrived at the Sixt location, the wait took another almost 30min. When we arrived there were a full 4 employees manning the check-in desks, great. But slowly they peeled off one-by-one to just take break even though there was a line to the door. Once we get to the desk the check-in itself was smooth enough, they handed us the key and told us which space the vehicle was in... which it was not. Not the end of the world, it was only a few down but it did have 2 major scratches (I'm talking across the entire rear and halfway down the passenger side of a Suburban) not listed on the vehicle report and tracking down someone to document the damage took another 20 min. We finally got out of there and on our way. The only issue we had once in the mountains was that they failed to toss in an ice scraper in February. The worst part was the return. The vehicle was due back at 1pm, we had a 2:55pm flight. Car was returned and checked-in quickly (so we thought) and we were on the shuttle back to the airport at 12:45. We had plenty of time to wander the terminal and relax before boarding to go home. Yet somehow I received an invoice for almost $90 extra for "late" return, with a check-in time of 2:47pm on the invoice... This turned into a week-long fight with Sixt to refund the money.

Once again, prepaid vehicle not available. Once again, had to provide all information at pickup, even though all information was provided on line for “quicker pick up”. WRONG. Was given a car with failed brakes! Received “Brake Booster Failure Warnings” every day. Difficult to drive when system failed while driving around Vail and Beaver Creek! Dangerous! Had new AmEx card at pickup, same account, just a new card. Was charged a second time for vehicle even though car was prepaid in full several months earlier. That and deposit meant Sixt charged my credit card over $1200! NEVER AGAIN.

This is at the Denver airport Sixt car collection . The airport shuttle to the pick up office was a long wait and finally it came - and some customers are not able to get into the shuttle - and the driver kept apologizing and calling the office to send another vehicle - as well as indicating that it was a saturday and 2 of 7 vehicles are operating . Not a good situation for Sixt for compliment the driver for his efforts to comfort the customers whom has waited more than half hour . Check in customer service was patient and explain the rate and very importantly the insurance and particularly the “extra” and including the toll charges ( which the last rental with same branch was NOT explain or told ). Car collection was easy and including exit . This review relates to from airport to taking the vehicle . Hope returning is efficient .

Great experience. I went with Sixt because they were almost half the price of anything else I could find. I was very sceptical going into it with all the bad reviews online, but it couldn't have gone any better. I especially appreciated the shuttle drivers, they were incredibly friendly and worked quick to get us loaded and on our way even when we got confused and waited for them in the wrong spot. Pick up and drop off were smooth, everyone was very helpful and the final price was exactly what it was quoted to be, no nitpicking or extra charge for the mess my 3 kids inevitably make during 8 days of vacation.

I tried Sixt to see if they could compare to my primary rental company. This would have been a better rating if my final invoice would have been emailed to me promptly like they promised. I still have not received it as of this post 14 hours later. Not getting my invoice at the time of return is a deal killer for me as I report business expenses to my employer daily. With the primary rental I use, it’s hard to use anyone else. The price per day on my rental was almost 4x the cost I get from my primary rental company. Not to mention they made me post a $200 deposit. I never have to do that with my primary. The checkout process takes a long time as well. I imagine this will improve as they become more organized and staff accordingly. There was a long line when I arrived to pick up my car. It took 45 minutes to get the car and report 4 damaged areas on it before leaving the yard. The return process was very quick and the shuttle was sitting there like a personal ride for me ! It was 6am and I was 1 of two cars being returned. Glad to see someone there in the early hours. They Got me to the airport in plenty of time. Lori checked me out on return and made quick work of it. Thank you ! The staff is very friendly and courteous and try hard to do well, but due to cost of the rental, check out time involved and the fact I don’t get my return invoice on the same day I most likely will not use Sixt again. The wait in line to rent the car was very slow. After that though, everything was great. We loved our rental SUV, GMC Acadia. It rode very well and got excellent gas mileage. The return staff was excellent as well and very friendly!


I needed a minivan with seats that completely folded down. Had to wait until this van was returned. Ceshia (staff at Denver) checked on me frequently with updates. This customer service separated you from many other rental car companies. Denver location was clean and prices were better than other companies. Only downside, ridgid return policy.

This was my first Sixt rental and it did not go well. I did not receive the car I reserved. The car I did receive had trash left in the back seat and the interior was dirty overall. The fuel was not topped up. The wait to get the car was over 20 min to the counter (not a long line). The signage to Sixt is nonexistent and in a different location than the other Denver airport rental car agencies. The wait to be taken back from the car return by shuttle was close to 30 min. I am a frequent traveler (weekly business trips) and this is amongst the worst rental experiences I have ever had. That being said, the price was competitive for the Cadillac they gave me.

Our experience with Sixt Car Rental in Denver was exceptional. I was a bit concern with my rental with them after reading several reviews that were not so great but I took a chance since their prices are great and we were pleasantly surprised. As soon as we arrived to the car rental shuttle area our shuttle was there waiting for us. Tina, our shuttle driver was great, super friendly and welcoming it really helped start our trip off on the right foot. Once we arrived to the car rental center, we had a short wait and were helped by a very nice agent who got our rental ready for us and we got the rental we originally requested. Once we arrived to our rental there were several scratches and dents that we wanted to make sure were identified in the car rental agreement. A manager came over, helped us, ensure that all dents and scratches were identified, and did so quickly and we were off. The car ran great, we were a group of four and all our luggage, bags and stuff fit perfectly. There were no problems with the car and we were all comfortable. Upon our return, again everything went smoothly, a shuttle was waiting for us and we got to the airport in time to pass through security and have a quick bite before boarding our flight back home. Thank you Sixt for a great experience!

Great experience renting from the Sixt location near the Denver Airport! There was a line when we arrived at 10:30pm but all the Sixt workers were very efficient and we didn't stand in line for very long- maybe 20 mins at the most. Joshua R helped us and was very kind and informative., Car was very clean and drove great. Easy pick up and easy drop off. We used the shuttle service and it was very clean and the drivers were very nice.

The shuttle bus took 30 mins to show up to take us to the rental car office where I was told they didn’t have the car I had reserved And when I reserved it there was nothing that said it might be an equivalent car. Then I was told to pick the car up in the back in the appropriate stall which he told me it was B66 but it was actually D66 and I even Asked again if B was the correct letter and he said yes, it was very dark back there And no one even went around the car with me to look for ding’s our dents you would’ve needed a flashlight to see anything though and the next morning I noticed a large scratch on the bumper so I’m curious to see if they try blaming that on me. I have never had any issues in Az renting from sixt but not impressed with the Denver location at all.

I was a little nervous renting a car from Sixt as I had never heard about them before. It turns out that they are the oldest car company in the world, and started out in Germany. The customer service was incredible. I was given a free upgrade to a luxury SUV simply because, "I was a nice person." I will definitely rent from Sixt again!

***UPDATED - We thought we had a good experience with Sixt but were contacted a MONTH after our rental with a bogus damage claim that I'm currently disputing with the company. Now my husband's saying "told-you-so" - next time we'll go with a different company. So disappointed. We rented a RAV4 from Sixt in June for 6 days. Our check-in and check-out process went pretty quickly, the staff were all nice (except of course pushing for the additional insurance that we didn't need), and the shuttle was easy to use. The car was exactly what we booked, was clean and worked fine. I was a little nervous booking here after reading some of the reviews but we saved $75 from the next cheapest spot and were very happy with our experience.

It was a Sunday morning and the branch only had 2 staff on duty which resulted in a 15 min wait for service...but that's the only part of the experience I can negatively review. Customer service 10 out of 10 from pick up to drop off. I'd call ahead and make sure the car is ready to go. Even though calling and getting ahold of someone is difficult with the automated system. Our car was out of gas and not pre inspected. They also charge a high deposit until car is returned that was in "fine print." I would return for customer service.

Very good customer service on the front end. Anthony was friendly, courteous, and professional. He explained there was no smoking in the vehicle or there is a $150 cleaning fee to which I responded "Not a problem, I don't smoke." He further described that this included "other" types of smoke. To which I chuckled and said, "Not a problem there either." I was well informed of their non-smoking policy and verbally affirmed agreement with it in person as well as in writing. Upon arriving to my destination at 1:30 am after a two hour drive, my partner and I went back to the vehicle to retrieve my things to which he stated, "It smells like smoke in here." I noticed it too at this time. The car wasn't used other than to return it one day later. I was charged $150 for "extensive cleaning of marijuana smoke" from the car. Not only am I not a smoker, I live in Seattle, WA where marijuana is legal if I so chose to engage. I would not choose to accrue $150 in charges, especially when I was unemployed. I disputed the charges but since it is their word against mine, my claim was not dismissed. When does my word count? At the front desk? If I had called on the phone at 1:30 am? After the fact? Don't go here unless you want to get wrongfully accused and waste some of your hard-earned money. Additionally, I chose to pay the $67 vehicle damage waiver because it was a much nicer vehicle than I am used to renting. I only rented here because my partner set it up for me and had prior good experiences. The $67 was a stretch for me given my unemployment status, but I was willing to pay up front "just in case." Never would I have expected to pay a smoke cleaning fee.

First time trying Sixt and will be my last time. I had prebooked my car online but everything went wrong. Ordered and paid for GPS but no GPS, paid for full tank gas but it was less than full. In the end we had to drive to the fisherman wharf to exchange our car and to get the GPS that we need for our trip. Wasted 1.5hrs doing all these. Poor variety of cars for selection too. We used to book Hertz but decided to try Sixt out... Regretted not booking Hertz this time round. Someone mentioned that this is a premium car rental agency?! I dunno what makes it premium...

Overall the car and the price were great and everything worked out well. Beware that their shuttle does not run until 4AM each day, so after hours drop off for an early flight is difficult. The signage at the branch is a little sparse, so it takes some diligence to figure out where to go and what to do.

Great experience with Sixt. We've never used them before, but we definitely will again. The shuttle service has a website so you can see how long until your shuttle will show up. The phone service explains clearly where to wait for the shuttle. We waited 1 minute. The driver was super friendly, and told us all about the airport and the company. We were checked in immediately and received our car in <5 minutes after we arrived. The car was clean and of better quality than I expected. Overall, we were very happy with our experience.

I want to thank all the 1 star reviewers. I had a reservation with them in September for a Jeep Wrangler and having read the issues with other customers had me cancelling that reservation. I've read all the issues they've had with Sixt at this location and they've convinced me to look elsewhere. I understand how 1 or 2 or even 3 people can have the same complaint, but more than that and at different weeks and months, had me worried. Other customers probably has had good experiences with Sixt but I don't want to take that chance of having a bad experience right before my vacation. The last thing I need is frustration right before my vacation and more frustrations after my vacation. From reserved cars not available, to damage claims/charges weeks after the vehicle has been returned leads me to believe this company scamming their customers. Caution: They‘ll rip your money!! Everything started just fine with renting a premium class and getting the car from Bryce. He said there were many small damages but all in all we should be fine with it. We received our car - not washed outside nor cleaned on the inside (soda spills in the cabin) with 800 miles to go to the next service. Since we rented for 14 days we already had to get the approval it would be fine because they didn’t know about it... When returning the car the employee Carmen checked and immediately „found“ three new damages, which were not fresh and already existed before. After saying we „would“ be covered with the extra insurance and it’s „unlikely“ we will be charged, they refused to give us an approval on this case and only pointed to the policy. They refused to call the Service or the Management and said they „can‘t“ give written statements. After us refusing to sign the return, they just proceeded without it and didn’t care at all - a mail box would even be a friendlier option. We will see how this goes after checking with the German headquarter but if you want to have a happy end without stress, DON‘T GO THERE!

I have never written a poor review for any business but I am for this one. I am warning you that this company has no plan for a car that does not work. We rented a van in Denver for our family vacation. Two days into the trip, on the way to Durango, the power steering failed in the mountains. We called Sixt on the way to Durango to see what they could do. The rep on the phone was perplexed and did not have a clear answer. They told me to drive it to Durango to get it fixed. So, after driving mountain roads without steering, we brought it to a mechanic that could not fix the issue. The “code” told them the vehicle needed to be brought to Denver. The testing cost $140 and Sixt asked us to pay the mechanic and they would reimburse that as well. We told Sixt they needed to pay that bill (glad we did!). After spending 5 hours of our day trying to get this van fixed, the rep said that if we could rent from another company, they would reimburse us for the cost of the rental. They told us to just save the receipt. The rental was $1000.00- not in our budget! But Sixt did not keep their word. After submitting the receipt for our second rental and spending countless hours on the phone we were told they could not reimburse us and that reimbursement was not guaranteed. We have referred our claim to the better business bureau. If I could put zero stars on here, I would! Do not use this company! If you do have an issue and need to call them, expect to be on hold for 1-2 hours per time. Also, looking at the “negative” reviews on here, I see Sixt has lied to others. I am going to take the time to copy this review to every travel outlet that exists. I will be sure to tell everyone I know, that travels, that this is not a company that keeps its word.

I was over charged by $158.16. When I returned the car last night I went in to the rental office to address this. I was told the people there only do rentals and there was no one there that could help me. They said the GM Anthony would call me this morning to discuss the mistake. I have not received any communication from anyone at Sixt. Conner who met me on the line when returning the vehicle was excellent. I would hire him to work for me anytime. Overall the experience was good. The only thing we did not particularly care for was when getting our car the representative continually tried to get us to upgrade to other models. We had just gotten off a long flight and still had a long drive ahead of us. Just would have preferred to have solidified our rental and be on our way. Other than that we had a very good experience. I was pretty nervous renting here for the first time due to the average review score. To be honest, I’m a Hertz kind of gal who likes to walk straight out to my reserved car without having to stand in line waiting etc. But the price of rental cars in Denver is absurd. I decided to take a chance and rent from Sixt. And I was pleasantly surprised how smoothly everything went! I arrived on a Friday at about 1 pm. The shuttle was at the airport and quickly took me to the main location. There was no line and I walked straight up to the counter. A very nice employee helped me with my rental, she was very friendly. I upgraded my rental for a small fee, I was able to get a bigger SUV. She sent me on my way, I walked out to my car which was clean and in great shape! My 8 day rental was perfect. Returning the vehicle at 530 am was a breeze too! The return shuttle was prompt and I got to the airport without issue. Overall, I would definitely rent here again and recommend you do too!

I already talked to your employee when I returned the car. The first problem I had was that the car was not clean, and it was not full on fuel. I had to go back for tour staff to fill it up. The biggest problem that I had was that the car control system and touchscreen were very glitchy and it froze a lot, and when that happen I can’t use any future of the car I "UPGRADED and paid more for" in order to enjoy, Included but not limited to Navigation, Audio system and Car play. I couldn’t go back because I had already drove 3 hours towards my destination before I realized the problems with the car. Total nightmare dealing with this company. They told me they accidentally gave away my reservation to somebody else with a similar last name. This process then kept me there over an hour as they tried to figure out how to give me a car for the same price. But instead what they did was trick me into putting $93 for an upgraded car on my credit card which I was told by manager Alfredo would later be taken off. Well that didn't happen. And they have no customer service lines to call. Never will I rent from them again. Should I send a 3rd email? Because I still have not heard back from your company. I went into the Fort Myers FL location to pick up my vehicle. I was given the choice of a few vehicles and I chose what I thought was the best option for my family. I specifically asked if there would be any additional charges, and I was assured that there would not be any additional charges. (I cant afford this kind of thing, and our vacation had me strapped for cash). I did sign the signature pad without actually reading what it said. (As we all occasionally do)... Bad move on my part! I was charged an upgrade fee for the vehicle I chose. When I called to discuss with sixt, they essentially told me that I signed, and that they won’t refund the full amount. They did offer to refund 50 percent of the charge which they called “good faith”. Pretty shady business practice if you ask me. Again, I did sign without reading though. Please be very careful when working with this company and make sure you read what you sign for them.

This was my first rental with Sixt. I was a little nervous since I did not have any previous experience with the brand but they had great pricing so I gave them a try. At the check-in counter they upgraded us to a 4-wheel drive at no charge because snow was in the forecast and we were headed to the mountains. The man at the check-in wanted to make sure we were safe. The car was in great condition and we were very happy with it. I was a bit worried about the return due to some other reviews I had read but it was very smooth. The deposit came off my card the next day and I received my final receipt with no extra charges. I would not hesitate to rent from Sixt again.

After trying Sixt out over the weekend, I am surprised by the negative reviews. This was the first time in my life I have ever had a completely painless car rental experience: I made a last-minute booking on Friday at 4pm and was able to pick up a car as soon as I arrived at Sixt at 6pm. I was in the office for less than 10 minutes at pick-up and less than a minute at drop-off and had no problems throughout the trip. So convenient, and a great value as well. The worst experience ever. I picked up a car and left. The car stopped several times in the 10 next minutes because of a mechanichal problem. Last time I was stopped in the most sloppy road of San Francisco and I blocked all the traffic. I called sixt emergency number. They promised to send a tow but nothing happen. My wife and young children had to manage the traffic with me at the risk to be hurt by the cars crossing us. After two hours a nice lady helped us and called a tow by her own insurance. Sixt was not answering my calls anymore, never send anyone and never call me back. Sixt in Europe is supposed to be a good rental company, in the US forget about it is the worst service ever.

Convenient shuttle to and from the airport. Read the various insurance options ahead of time to cut down on wait time at the desk - all of the information is available online and they accept collision damage waiver coverage that is available through many credit cards. Super easy return process with a shuttle waiting to zip us back to the airport. Highly recommended and very impressed by the staff at this location.

But, I got to work with Cody C. and he accommodated my reservation going above & beyond. My best friend was meeting me in Denver with her 2 toddlers so it was VERY helpful that I got to get the reservation and car all set up before they arrived. However, was terribly disappointed with check in. Car we thought we were getting was not there. I do not understand how this happens, but now I expect some sort of solution to hopefully make up for it. That did not happen in my case. I was offered a bigger car, but explained that I don't feel comfortable driving that large of a car and that model/make. I even offered to take a smaller car and just pay the money I had been expected to pay for the SUV. I was told the best that company could do was get me another car that would cost an extra $150. At this point I had no option other than leaving and since I was already on a schedule, I did not leave and head back to airport and look for other solutions. The gentleman who helped me was actually nice and was very informative. He told me he talked to someone in the back and they couldn't do anything to help. I really want to recommend Sixt to others and since I travel a fair amount would like to use again, but at this point I will be doing neither.

Check-out process was very weird and unnecessarily long with a lot of weird requests for information especially since I already had a reservation. Emily D was not very friendly. Returning the car was confusing. Needs more signage. A downloadable receipt after check-in would also be nice to have instead of just an email. with the info in it, but no attachment.

Buyer beware! Original vehicle was not available when I arrived and that’s where the up sells began. Watch out for the fast talking counter agents who never mention the actual fees and use fear based sales tactics. My original rate for a weekly suv rental was $340. As I was rushed through the line and to my car I never noticed that I was charged an additional $345.25 for a toll pass, pre paid fuel and an additional driver. Turns out there were VERY FEW toll roads while I was in Denver but the agent used a hard sell about the number of tolls and $5 penalty on each one without the pass. I was the only one to drive the vehicle , but since they never mentioned a fee for the additional driver I went ahead and added the other adult traveler to the tune of $100. CHECK YOUR CONTRACT BEFORE LEAVING THE COUNTER.

The pick up from the airport was a little rocky, since we were waiting over 30 min to be picked up by the shuttle, but when we meet Ashley at the counter, she smoothed everything over, and calmed our nerves. She made things better with our reservation, and made up for the lost time at the airport. If it wasn’t for Ashley, our rating would be much lower. Way to go Sixt, with hiring quality people.

I would question the authenticity of all the negative reviews for Sixt Denver. They did a fantastic job. We rented a 2019 Mercedes for 7 days for 384.84 total price, all fees taxes etc! It was less than a 5 min wait for shuttle to their facility and driver was very courteous. Once there about a 10 min. wait in line. Our agent was professional, friendly, and courteous with no up selling pressure at all. Our car was a short walk away, we were out of the lot in 2 min.! We got snowed in at WinterPark so I called their local office telling them I would miss the return date. I was told don't worry about the car just your families safety. They added 3 more days to my booking without increasing the rate one cent. Upon returning we pulled up and was on their shuttle back to airport in less than 3 min. and again the shuttle driver was very courteous and polite.

It was a really uncomfortable environment - customers were mad, employees were flustered... Stick with Alamo, Budget or some other more established car rental company. Sixt is still going through growing pains.

I was very skeptical about Sixt at first, since it's still establishing brand trust like the traditional Avis/Hertz/etc. I went with them because they had the best deal, but was concerned about what I would get. Conclusion: the Denver Airport Sixt was fantastic. The employees treated us super well (thank you Chris and Ashley!), and we got upgraded when they heard about how difficult the trip planning process has been for us. The Cadillac XT5 that I got had 2 miles on it, and was FANTASTIC to drive. The shuttle drivers were friendly. My only complaint is that one of their shuttles doesn't have AC. It didn't have AC when we arrived on 7/3 and it didn't have AC when we returned on 7/7, which made the 10-minute drive to the airport almost unbearable.

I rented a BMW SUV that had minor dings and scratches all over the vehicle including the back. Most were documented but some evidently were not. Shortly after renting the car it started pouring rain so we couldn’t check the damage report well. We used the car for a few days and returned it with no damage or Issues whatsoever. A few months later, I got a notice in my email that they are trying to collect $430 for damage which I didn’t create. After calling them about this claim, they offered a discount on the charge for damage. However, I didn't cause any damage to the car, so I refuse to pay. This company is a complete scam. This is evident in the pushy upselling nature of the staff. I should have known when they were pushing hard for me to take the insurance. Evidently, they will squeeze money from you any way possible. STAY AWAY!!!!!!

I was hesitant at first to try a company I had never heard of, but the rate was so good I had to try. I am so glad I gave this a go! The staff were all super friendly and competent. We were told this is a family run business out of Germany, and one of the owners designed their uniforms (which I love!) More than that, the car was perfect for us, brand new! We upgraded to an SUV, first time doing that, on the clerk’s advice. I’m so glad we did, because we certainly needed the power in the mountains of Colorado. Sixt is my new favorite rental car company, and I’ll seek them out for my next trip!

We hit at shift change so there was quite a line. I'd suggest to them to offset the changes so not everyone is changing at the same time. Other than that, everyone was quick but polite, fun to talk with and the car was decent. Not a lot of pressure to upgrade either which was a good thing.

Let me start by saying this will be my last rental experience with SIXT. I recently rented a car to drive from San Diego to San Francisco. The trip went great and the car was just fine. Unfortunately 200ish miles into our 550 mile drive the tire presure light came on the dash. I put $1 worth of air in it and had a worried free rest of my trip. When returning the car I made sure to let the greater know the tire had lost some air so that the next person that received the car did not have the same issue. No big deal. Then over 90 days later i received an bill for $240 for a replacement tire. I called and was informed I denied the Loss Damage coverage considering I have my own insurance that would cover any major damage if it were to happen. And I told them I would no questions asked pay for the damages if they could show me proof of a damaged tire, and they continued to tell me they have pictures of the low tire presure light on the dash. I would gladly pay for the tire if they have a picture or anything confirming I caused the damage but charging me for low tire presure is unacceptable business practice and i am defently feeling scammed and taken advantage of! So if renting from them, purchase the damage coverage or expect to get scammed and billed for something as unreasonable as low tire presure! Sincerely Jeremy

I was skeptical about renting a car from Sixt as I had not heard of them. It was a great experience! We rented a car out of the Denver Airport. They are not with the other Rental places - a little further out in a mobile trailer set up- but the shuttle service was prompt (waiting for us) coming and going. The only thing I did not like is I noticed they tried to "upsale" the people in front of us to upgrade to an SUV since "they might need the power in the mountains". They offered me the same upgrade, which I declined, then she checked keys and told me they would be giving me a "free upgrade" to an SUV since there were no more cars in my reserved category. Just be honest! I didn't like feeling like I was being duped into paying for an upgrade they were going to have to offer anyway! Other than that, the customer service was AMAZING!! Everyone from check-in to shuttle drivers, to return personnel were friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely rent from Sixt again.

The lack of ability to just extend a contract for several weeks or more is a very unusual policy. It's not even spelled out clearly on the Sixt website, and I assume that reflects that Sixt is aware this is an unpopular and frankly customer-unfriendly policy. Sadly, it makes it even worse that the policy is not clearly announced and even some staff don't know about it. The manager, Jacob, finally explained later that this is mostly due to required maintenance intervals for the vehicles. I suggest being forthright with customers about this issue. Because without that explanation, it just seems arbitrary and stupid and downright unfriendly that in 2019 you can't just hit a few keys on your computer and extend a rental by a few weeks when the customer asks. Especially when the customer is many hours from your location when first told that it's not possible to simply extend a rental, like every other rental car company can do easily! Other than that major policy difference from most companies, much of the experience was good. The cars selection of Euro models is cool and prices are quite competitive, so this is a compelling combo.

No wait in long lines, just went up to counter upon entering! Jessica L. was friendly, efficient and definitely knew the business, even gave us cold water bottles for our trip. Thank you, Jessica L. There was no high-pressure to upgrade or buy extra coverage, just the routine offering. The shuttle both to and from airport was quick and barely was there any wait. Porter that took us to our car, Roilly, I think his name, was very helpful and courteous. Sixt prices were the best I found for Denver during high tourist season, and the car was exactly what we expected. I would recommend and use Sixt again. Not just the good prices but it is the people that work for Sixt that make all the difference. Keep up the good work!

I originally rented a Hyundai Sonata for a total price of $665.55 for 10 days. I rented and paid for the car weeks in advance. Several weeks later I found the price of the same car had decreased $227.99. I called SIXT and spoke to someone in Ft. Lauderdale and was offered insurance ,full tank of gas, etc. to make up the difference. I asked to just credit back my credit card. Nothing happened and my wife and I arrived at the Denver Airport location. The agent asked where we were going and said for that trip the Hyundai was not the most comfortable and suggested a BMW which I agreed to pay the upgrade cost. The BMW was a fine car and I enjoyed all aspects of that car. I own a new Cadillac and the BMW had features the Cadillac did not have. My only request was to lower the original cars amount and leave the upgrade cost alone as I was 100% satisfied with the BMW.

After a couple days of driving, we had a warning message on our car that it needed an oil change. As we were nowhere near a Sixt location, we called customer service and they advised us that we could get the oil changed ourselves and get reimbursed when we returned the car. Not only did we have to waste time on our vacation finding a mechanic in the middle of nowhere, the lady I dealt with when we returned the car gave me a hard time. She asked why I would get an oil change since they apparently do it themselves at 7000 miles. However, the car had close to 11000 miles on it once I returned it.....This lady left the counter twice to go to a back room (?) and eventually they did reimburse me for the oil change. Not sure why anyone would willingly spend $90 on an oil change for a RENTAL car unless advised to do so?!

I've got the car 1 hour 10 mins later my initial pick up time. The car I have reserved was not there. They have to drive it from another location. Then, the car was not in the system. They have started 'putting it into the system" - another long 15 mins. I've got lots of attitude from the clerk because I was trying to explain him that I need car 1 hour ago and I can not be late. He told me off pretty rude and started doing everything even slower. This makes this place unprofessional and unreliable. People set up pick up time for reason. Clerks can not go for a smoke break if they see a nervous customer waiting for 30 mins after pick up time. I don't recommend this place. There are much better car rental places in the city, where you and your time is respected.

We had issues with the wheel alignment at hwy speeds (a new VW Atlas) & the brakes during the mountain descents were very rough (tremendous vibrations, which caused us to go well below the posted speed limits to mitigate.) Lori noted our experience & thanked us for providing feedback on the vehicle so they could remove from service/repair. They all seem to clean the insides of their vehicles with the same sewer water. How hard is it to find some Windex and armor all? And the location - would a sign or two kill ya? In Denver, I dealt with Ahmad at counter and he was so approachable and easy to speak with. A+ customer service! Bernard was the driver and he was also very approachable, as well as patient with some customers who were rather rude about how much of a hurry they were in and he dropped them off first, as requested. And Connor was was adorable at the return, friendly and sense of humor though he was working in the pouring rain. Great customer service all together! It was only my second time using SIXT and I think I now favor them over the rest and I travel almost weekly! Thank you!

I've used Sixt in Minneapolis many times and it is outstanding. Denver, not so much. Location is farther from airport, took over 20 minutes to get checked in and facility was not clean. As usual, car was great. Will continue using Sixt but hope all locals match MSP for efficiency and cleanliness.

We had recently rented at another rental company, also at the airport, and the experience was not pleasant. The line was long and to complicate that the process to rent a car, even with a reservation, took 25 minutes. Sixt on the other hand was an efficient experience but more importantly a friendly experience. Alissa checked us in and was helpful and personable through the process. She was able to get us a roomy upgrade for the same price. Even when we returned the car Lori was excellent to work with. If I had one improvement to recommend it would be better road signage to the building other than that we will rent with Sixt in the future.

Above average, relatively quick for how busy they were. One shuttle smelled like cigarette smoke but the other didn’t. The car was good. The main issue I have is with an employee who didn’t realize we were watching when she completely dropped the car seat we rented from standing position to the pavement. Basically the equivalent of a fender bender I’m sure. Reflects on the entire company and the safety of any used rental equipment or accessories. Who knows what else employees do when they think no one is watching. They also tried to upgrade us to an SUV “for the mountains” but I’m sure any rental company would do so to make a sale or commission etc. as someone experienced with driving on paved roads through the mountains in the summer, I can tell you that a car is just fine. The price beat the competition though.

Like a magician doing a slight of hand trick, they will upsell right in front of you without you even realizing it until it's too late. They will say it is "an offer to upgrade," but it isn't presented that way. The lady simply turned to a page of vehicles and told me to pick one. Good experience with Sixt at the Denver Airport. Ahmed at the office got us through the paperwork and clearly advised us regarding local toll roads we wanted to avoid. The car was clean, easy to drive, and remained problem-free. Shuttle driver Juma insisted on carrying our bags even though I first advised him we must carry our own as we had run out of cash for a tip. Return staff Conner went through the car quickly and showed us the awaiting shuttle bus. For a mom traveling with two small kids, the overall experience was easy and seamless.

This was basically the exact opposite experience of the last rental car company I rented from in Denver. The wait wasn't very long. The agent was friendly and helpful. He explained everything and gave me options and when I mentioned off-hand that I'd be driving my octogenarian parents around, he checked to see if maybe they could get me into a slightly bigger car in the same category (there turned out not to be anything available, but it was nice of him to check). This is probably my go-to rental car agency in Denver from now on.

He promptly offered an apology and bottled water, as had several other staff, and was extremely helpful.
