Terrible customer service. 7 shuttle busses came for other car rentals and they still have ‘t showed up. I am in a wheelchair, traveling with my husband, and they have no wheelchair accessible shuttles. Now another car rental shuttle service is going to take my husband to Allied Economy car rental and I am sitting on the curb in my wheelchair with all our luggage. To rent from them at LAX you have to take 2 separate shuttles. Save yourself- it is not worth it.

I arrived at the car rental and found 8 people in front of me. There were 2 agents at the counter. The people in front of me informed me that they had already been there for 20 minutes, and the line had not moved. Ultimately i waited 1 hr before i was called to the counter. I then learned that the reason for the delay was that they were waiting for cars to be returned and washed. The office manager made 1 appearance, and offered her apology, then told us that we would experience this long wait at any car rental location

An overall pleasant experience reasonably fast service very friendly service in a very clean nice upscale setting. Nice selection of cars from economy models up to Bentley. No kiosk option so if you're in a big hurry or don't like to interact with other humans this might not be the place for you.

Take an Uber (super short ride) from the Terminal and they will remove the $9 or $10 from your rental. Friendly service, clean fleet of cars, good rates, no weird airport fees. My new fav rent-a-car spot for LAX

We rented a beautiful GMC Denali from Midway for our week in Santa Barbara. The rental experience was superb - quick and easy and the vehicle was new and pristine. Midways rate was the lowest for a full size SUV type vehicle from all the rates available on Priceline.

Disappointed. Lesson learned: Stick to the big name car rental places. I left an expensive item in the rental car we used and phoned back to the office to see if it was found. It was a short conversation and I could tell there wasn’t much interest in finding the item. They said they did not find anything. Definitely makes me question the honesty and credibility of the place. Also, we were given a car with about a 1/4 tank of gas. We were told to return at 1/4 or less. The only problem is that since we had the car for several days we filled up at the beginning of our trip and ended up over a 1/4 tank. First time I’ve been given a car with that little amount of gas in the tank. So I lost an expensive item and gave them gas. I ended up losing a nice chunk of money. Lastly, the pick up and drop off is setup in very tight quarters in a parking garage. Crowded and cars waiting for others to move. Slow checkin process. Everything else on our trip was great except for the car rental. Unfortunate.

Best car rental place, will never use anyone else again in LA! It feels like a boutique car rental agency as the service and offices are top notch. The car (even economy) is super clean and late model. I've recently used two other car rental companies and can guarantee Midway are far superior to the competition.

The staff was very friendly/professional/helpful at the pickup and the drop off. The car was clean and in mint condition when I picked it up. My rental had a minor scrape from parking while in my possession and the staff helped me and gave me information to resolve the issue with my rental insurance. Note to all potential renters, always always always get the insurance! Anything could happen.

Another amazing experience, 2nd time I've rented from Midway. Customer service was once again top notch. Sandra was great, helped me thru the entire rental process and made it super easy. Offered me a car upgrade and it made my work trip a blast. Would definitely recommend to all travelers who visit the L.A. area. Don't waste your time or money on those big box, cookie cutter rental firms that monopolize the industry.

Service was good. Price seemed okay. Car was clean and in good condition. Option to prepay half a tank of fuel was useful so we didn't have to find a service station at the last minute. Shuttle to airport from drop off 24/7 was very handy. Information on getting to the collection point from LAX was only available as a recorded message when calling - could have been in the booking confirmation or on the website.

Midway car rental is the way car rental SHOULD be. I have rented cars in a lot of places and situations, and my experience with Midway was the best of all of them. Good price, high-quality car, fast, friendly service, excellent airport shuttle service. Their website provided all the information I needed to reserve a car with no guess work. When I arrived to get the car, the process was quick and efficient with no surprises. Checking in after hours was easy peasy, and I got my final contract by email shortly after they opened for the day. I will definitely use Midway again for visits to LA. I only wish Midway were available in more places.

I have been so impressed with this company! The pick up from the airport was seamless, the ride just 5 min to the office, and the customer service was excellent! We were helped by Joshua Fouse who was friendly, so helpful, and very professional! He even upgraded our rental to a midsize car which I was so grateful for. The 2017 Hyundai Elantra was clean, smelled nice, and very comfortable. Midway had the best rate among all the LAX rental companies. Drop off was also a breeze. I will definitely book with Midway again!

I normally go with National or Enterprise for the fear of terrible car rental experiences. Thank goodness I read reviews of Midway before making a reservation!! Midway was more than 50% cheaper than National and Enterprise and it was a FABULOUS experience! The car gave us was brand new, there was no waiting in line to get checked in. (You do have to wait to get your car after checking in, but there’s cold water in the fridge and it’s not that long to wait.) I will definitely use Midway again for sure!! So happy to learn about this company!!!

STAY AWAY!!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED....This is a tiny little car rental service. When I tried to pick up my car..they refused to rent me one because I was using a corporate debit card. When I told them to just charge my personal credit card they told me "sorry your reservation has been locked and we are closing".VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Went to HERTZ and walked out with a better car for less in 15mins. THEY'VE LOSS MY COMPANY'S BUSINESS FOREVER.

Great friendly service. They don't have a shuttle service that other major rental companies but I just took a taxi to their lot and they subtracted what I paid for the taxi off my rental cost. There was about 6 people in line when I arrived but the line moved fast. Check check in and my car was ready right away. Got a brand new 2019 Camry even though I just book a standard size car. Easy quick returns as well. Highly recommend if you're ever in LA better than any other rental company in the area.

We were given a brand new car with no license plate. When we voiced our concern about being stopped, we were told you will be ok because there was a paper in the FRONT window. Well, we ere stopped 3 times that day. We called and let them know. They were kind enough to bring us a car a 6 pm the next day. So, we lost a full day where we were unable to drive the car. They gave us a 10% discount, despite the fact we couldnt drive the car for a day. The replacement car was so dirty, and then they tried to charge is for a child seat (we were not traveling with kids). We will not be using this company again.

A Drop in Service Level Lowered my rating two stars from a year ago. Seems they did away with the shuttle from the airport to the off premise location and tell you to take a taxi or Uber. Not sure what to expect at 5AM on our way home if I am left waiting for an Uber at Midway. The wait for service once you get here is ridiculous. Two clerks coordinating cars for a dozen or more people on line. Expect at least a 30 minute wait for this god awful slow service. Not much of a compelling story that makes me want to keep this a go forward rental car provider. Prices are basically on par with Enterprise and Budget with a service that falls far short if either. Just had an Enterprise rental in another city earlier in the week and check in to drive out was 5 minutes. Don't expect that here at Midway. Short summary, if you have another choice for rental car provider grab it because Midway is one painful experience.

When I arrived in LA, I used a cab to Midway rental wondering if they really reimburse it. As matter of fact, they did at the upfront of renting. I reserved a Toyota echo but they gave me better car: corolla. When I return the car after 12 days, they gave me back the middle point option cost since I returned with the same level of gas. As soon as midway checkup was finished, my $200 deposit was refunded. This midway rental is trustable. I Thank you to the midway staffs with all these smoothness. Even their drop-off shuttle driver was so nice helping me unloading my luggage. Good people!

We were put in a car that didn't have license plates. When I asked about why, I was told that the laws in California changed and license plates weren't required for 2019 models. I knew this wasn't right. I should have requested a car with license plates. But I didn't and was pulled over by a police officer for not having plates. It wasn't a pleasant experience. Midway intentionally put me and my wife in a vehicle that was illegal to drive.

Car pickup required a shuttle transfer at an almost abandoned lot which was considering but the driver was there and everything else went well. Drop off was very smooth with a great shuttle service. I will use Midway again. I hope the sketchy empty lot transfer is not needed next time.

Not the greatest experience. I booked and only to find out they do not allow their cars to go to WA state. The front desk girl was nice, but it did cut into my traveling time. So If you plan to take it to another state read the fine print or call to confirm before booking.

Extremely Slow Service! 28 minutes for initial shuttle bus. Another 13 minutes for the second shuttle bus to the actual rental car location. 19 minutes sitting it front of a representative doing all the none sense paperwork and finally 15 more minutes waiting for the driver to bring me a car. Normally with Avis I am in and out in < 10 minutes. Midway needs to get it together! I will never rent a car from this company again.

First time used midway rentals, we were having hard time to find airport shuttle bus to midway rental office. The shuttle bus is called Joe's as it's a hotel shuttle bus. Remember to wait at hotel shuttle stop in lax airport. Everything went smooth and fast at the office. This one was the cheapest rate for weekly rental. It's CAD205 for elantra 1 wk, insurance extra.

Having used multiple car rental services before, I can say that my experience with Midway car rental has been the worst by far. We showed up for a 12:00 reservation for a small car just after 12:30 due to the rental car shuttle and began to wait in line. While waiting we noticed only 2 of the 4 people working the were actually working with customers. Once called up to the counter we were able to get all the paperwork signed, and were told that there would be 5-10 minute wait for the car. While waiting I overheard the other clerk say to other customers who also had a reservation that they would have a 15-20 minute wait, but they could upgrade to a full size car for an extra fee but get their car immediately. After a wait of 25 minutes at the counter, we were handed the paperwork and told to go to the garage to pick the car up. Upon arriving to the attendant told us that the car still needed to be prepped and that we would have another 5-10 minute wait. After waiting, we watched our car drive by to the car washing station and get washed and then get dropped off in front of us. During the walk around we noticed several large chips and scrapes that we pointed out to the attendant. We finally took possession of the car over 90 minutes after the reservation. If we have a reservation for a particular car at a particular time booked over 3 months ago, I expect any halfway decent rental facility to have the car ready, especially not having to wait at the counter to be told to wait at the garage again, and take a full hour before getting our car.

I just returned a rental car to their LAX location and I can’t say enough great things. The car was new and clean and everything from shuttle pickup to handing over the keys was smooth and fast. This is one of the few rental car agencies that did not heckle me to add additional insurance coverage, which can be a huge annoyance. I needed to return my car about 12 hours earlier than scheduled and without even asking, I was given a better rate. Excellent.

When I found their website, and saw their prices I thought to myself "this is too good to be true", I was expecting to get charged double, or triple, or at least have horrible customer service, but the reviews I had read all stated what great service and prices Midway offered, so I took the risk. I showed up and received quick and accommodating customer service, I paid in advance to avoid incurring extra fees and for 71 dollars for a three day rental I was SHOOK!!! Everyone I encountered from the Midway team was friendly and customer service oriented and I would HIGHLY recommend them over any of the other rental companies including Enterprise, Budget or Hertz for sure. I will absolutely be renting with them again, and will not waste time with other companies. Good business means so much these days, and Midway has it!

Wow. What a joke. Four people at the counter all on their phones, talking with each other or starting blindly in to space with no acknowledgement of the long line of customers waiting to be served. No cars are ready for pickup. Yes, a good rate but for a few dollars more I'd be gone by now. Sad to say but it actually gets worse. After waiting in line and then being told to wait in their waiting area they then move you to a different area in the actual garage and tell you to wait further. Obviously this place is owned by a doctor..... seriously though they have no desire to get you in a car and on the road in a timely manner.

Instructed to board an airport shuttle to a random parking lot, where you and your luggage are dropped off, then from there - call Midway and wait for a driver to pick you up. TERRIBLE! First you have to take LAX shuttle, which stops at every terminal on the way out to rental car area. If you’ve never been to LAX, you may not appreciate how terrible this is. The LAX shuttle will take you to another lot, where you then wait 6-8 minutes for a 2nd shuttle. They were seriously understaffed, and it took me 45 minutes to get to the counter. From there, I walked to the garage where I waited another 8-10 minutes. The final part....I reserved a midsize car and the didn’t have any!!! I got a free upgrade to an SUV. The photo attached was at the 35 minute mark. Avoid at all costs!

Great experience renting with Midway back in Nov. I was a bit leery renting from Midway as I generally rent from the big guys when travelling, however no one could compete with the price offered by Midway so I took a chance and I can say we had no issues at all. The shuttle picking us up from LAX did take a little while longer than the others, however once we got to the counter we were checked in immediately, my reserved price confirmed and honored, and we were given an upgrade to a brand new Sonata (only 8 miles on the odometer). Dropping off the car was just as straightforward. We parked in the designated area, they checked over the car, hopped on the waiting shuttle and by the time I got to LAX the receipt was in my email with no surprises. We definitely would rent with Midway when flying into LAX!

Management is very kind, too, and will gladly help with any problems. The only downside is that they don't have rental places all over the country.

Easiest and best car rental experience I have ever had. They do not have shuttle directly from LAX but reimburse you immediately upon arrival. They do not have the shuttle because LAX was charging fees and those fees trickle down to customers if they choose to have a shuttle. It was super easy getting an uber to there pick up location (about 3 min ride) and honestly more enjoyable/easier than taking a shuttle. I worked with Bernard and he was super knowledgeable and friendly. The car was a 2019 and super clean. Will absolutely use Midway again. Cheapest prices and great customer service. Easy drop-off.

I booked my car here because the reviews mentioned how convenient the shuttle was from LAX. On my visit the shuttle service had just been changed and it was pretty close to awful. The bus came once every 20 min and it dropped us off in a parking lot where we had to call midway for a ride which took another 10 min. I complained but the attendant did nothing but to resolve my dissatisfaction.

I ended up opting for the insurance incase something happened so the event wouldn't go on my insurance record, long story short the prices are amazing and the customer service is smooth and easy.

Our flight arrived 20 minutes early. We had to wait 15 minutes for a shuttle relieved thinking finally we can get the car. Only to be dropped off in an empty parking lot to wait for a second shuttle that took us to this remote location. The line has been at a stand still for 30 minutes. We’re hungry and exhausted this never would have happened at Avis or Hertz! The 3 people at the counter being helped have been there for 20 min! we landed and got our bags at 10:15... it’s 11:31 and we still have a line wrapped around the place unmoving. One customer is arguing with the receptionist about leaving to get another service... Time is money. Don't waste either here and there’s flies!

I initially rented from Midway's LAX location 5 years ago and had a great experience. I used them again this year, and the service was even better. I had established a dialogue with Beth, their online representative, who went out of her way to assist me and help me get the vehicle I needed, including a nice little upgrade. She prearranged my paperwork so that my check-in procedure would go as smoothly as possible. Their website says to take an Uber or taxi directly to the LAX location from the airport, and they will reimburse you for the cost. That's exactly what I did, and they reduced the rental by the cost of the Uber (receipt needed). The location is actually so close to the airport that you can walk if you wanted to. Their combination of service, vehicles and pricing are superior to any other rental company I have used, so I will certainly rent from them again, when the opportunity arises.

Great experience, rented a large SUV, it was super clean, in perfect condition. Antonio was very friendly and patient showing us the vehicle and some of its key features. Return was no hassle and very quick. Yes its a bit of a chore to get to their location, but the rate was outstanding (thanks too for the military discount) and hassle free pick up and drop off. On our next visit to LA Midway will the first place we look for a vehicle. Highly recommend!

Great experience! Ordered mustang convertible, the car was excellent - clean, without any defect. Never regret paying every single dollar for great car and perfect service. It took about 30m to check in - this was the only disadvantage. Me and company's representative checked and took video of the car before rental. I drove a lot, and i was happy that the car had unlimited mileage. Returning the car took 5min, which is amazing! Deposit was returned within 5 days. Thanks Midway car rental for perfect service, you definitely deserve those 5 stars.

Overall the experience was ok, but the vehicle didn’t run well, I paid extra for a nicer mid size vehicle and when it doesn’t run well it’s a let down. Finding the drop box was impossible early hours doing a drop off. I did Appreciate the fast check in once through the line. May or may not rent with Midway again.

This was our first time renting a car and we had a awesome experience! Location was nice and easy to get to with the shuttle. It only took us about 20 minutes from start to finish to check in and get our 2018 Toyota corolla! Car was clean and NEW! Returning was just as easy since it was after hours. I will recommend Midway by LAX to everyone I can! First of the price could not be beat! I know, I shopped around big time. Even with travelocity, Expedia and Groupon. It was cheapest right through them. The customer service was perfect. Picking up the cars was quick compared to others we used We rented 2 cars for the week with 4 kids. We rented compact, Nissan Versa type and we got a step up on both! A Camry and Elantra. The reservation process was almost effortless and you didn’t have to pay till he day you picked up cars. The drop off/return was quick and easy as well. I don’t think there is a shuttle any longer but they reimburse for Uber but we walked from the airport. It was about 10 mins, 15 at the most. After a 5 1/2 hour flight from the east coast it was nice to walk.

I'm usually reluctant to try local car rental companies, but truly this was a terrific rental experience at a much lower cost than what the national chains usually charge. You do have to take a shuttle from the airport to where the car rental location is, but that would be the case to get to any car rental agency from LAX, and the shuttle is fast and frequent. On the day we arrived, Midway was closing at 9pm. Our flight was delayed, so we wouldn't be able to make it there in time. We called to let them know, and they very kindly kept the office open late for us, and were very friendly and helpful when we finally did arrive. Midway offered us a high level of communication and costumer service, and I would encourage any visitors to LA not to overlook them just because their name is less familiar than their competitors'.

Fast and good service, great new car, do not waste time trying to sell you insurances, do not create problems, quick return and shuttle that takes you to departures. Worth the few extra bucks compared to competitors. Only downside is to get there from the airport you need to wait for a bus, had to wait 15 min or so.

The price was very reasonable and the office location is also easily accessible, just minutes from LAX. If you are going to take the shuttle from the airport, either H hotel shuttle or Joe shuttle will work. So glad there is a decent rental place in LA now- I’ll be sure to return when I need a rental car in the area!

Midway carl rental is a wonderful place to rent a car. The car was clean and staff was wonderful and they had good prices. They went out of their way to make sure I was happy with the rental. I highly recommend them and will rent from them whenever I am in the LA area. It was easy to return the car too. I noticed long return lines at some of the other rental car companies.

Worst experience ever ... choose if you have 2hours in front if you ! Only rental company without their own shuttle ! I land at 9 am , had to take a city bus ( the E ) to a remote location where a Van is finally taking you to an hotel parking where midway is ! It takes an hour and then you have to wait in line and do the paperwork ! I missed my appointment . I never ever experience this with any other rental company ! Don’t waist your time go to avis , hertz , Sixt or any other legit company with a shuttle !

Very deceitful. "Fine print" is misleading as there are no specifics. 600 extra for a deposit because a debt card is used ? Very easily to assess blame to 3rd party sites. Just tell customers what they will expect.

The airport experience was quick and delightful. Car was perfect. Then I had a medical incident and wouldn't be able to drive, which is when I discovered how personal and accommodating they could be. They agreed to let my friend return the car to a nearby location and were very fair about repricing. I would highly recommend this company (and I've rented from many at LAX).

Pretty happy overall. Service was quick and accurate. There is no direct shuttle from LAX but u can take a secondary shuttle to a depot and Midway will take you from there. There is probably a reason for this, but it just add some time to the overall process. Car was clean and exactly as described. I'm happy with the service and price. I’ve used midway before from Beverly Hills and it was great but i had no idea that it is off LAX property. It takes 30-45 min to get a shuttle to take you to a remote location to get a Midway shuttle to there car property. I wasted over an hour. Don’t use Midway from LAX unless you can afford to wait a long long time. I am adding returning the vehicle was excellent and easy in Santa Monica near where I stayed. Midway also gave me an upgrade to a Mercedes C class which was nice however they gave it to me with no gas in it. Again Midway is good in LA area but wouldn't recommend from LAX.

We had a great experience with Midway near the LAX. We followed the instructions regarding the shuttle bus without any issues. The shuttle took us to a parking lot where another Midway shuttle picked us up a few minutes later. I believe the Midway shuttle comes every few minutes to pick up clients, as we did not have to call a number, and we saw a Midway shuttle leave when we arrived at the parking lot, and another arrived about 5-10 minutes later. When we arrived at the Midway rental office, we waited in line for about 10-15 minutes and were greeted with friendly service and the contract was printed and we then proceeded to the car pickup area where we were greeted immediately and after about 5 minutes we were presented with a clean, late model vehicle. I would definitely recommend Midway to anyone needing a rental car in Los Angeles.

I made a reservation online Saturday before my flight on Monday to CA. When my family got to Midway Car rental they were told that they couldn't assist them because the driver had CA license. We live in TX my family member who just move from CA is going to the process of getting a TX license and it would be nice for them to have a spot in big letters on their website to let customers know that they can't assist you when they believe you live in CA. I called that same Saturday to go over all the information over the phone with Tony (I believe was his name) and I was told everything was in place. Here was my family in CA without a vehicle, hoping to find another rental company that could help without a reservation. We were able to obtain help 5 hours later (I made calls to the whole world from TX) after searching for assistance elsewhere. I hate to say it, I have a TX license and I will NEVER again attempt to reach out to this company for assistance. Not that they would care, but this could be useful for someone traveling.
