They did not support my reservation. Sent emails to company CEO and President, who's email address are listed on their website - NO response. Sent Express mail letter to each NO response. These people could care less about customer service. Do not use them! You will regret!

Every customer service agent was extremely helpful. I use a cane n the staff went above and beyond to assist me to the airport safely after returning the vehicle. The Toyota Corolla was clean and wonderful. I will definitely use ACE again. Thank you.

We rented a car two weeks ago from this place, we paid over 40 dollars to rent a car with broken A/C and low tire pressure. They got mad when we complained to them , really? Should rent a car from other places.

We arrived at economy rent a car at 12:30. We got to speak to an agent at 2:00. The agent said we didn't have right info and even after we showed our military id. He said we need more info. Thanks to my children coming to help us. We finally left at 3:28 . To get a van that was dirty. Even told the agent the van is dirty, really didn't seem to care.

My sister and I were double charged for an additional driver. When I spoke to Darrell, one of the managers, he was as rude and condescending as he was when I picked up the car. He implied I was too stupid to understand the billing when I was looking at their invoices. Do not rent from this agency. Im very upset right now I made holiday plans to pick up a rental the angent told me if I use my credit card I won’t have to pay the deposit I then repeat what she said back to her just to confirm because I had a issue before with this an she said yes...called today to my pick up location(Tampa airport) to confirm an what she told me was not true they told me that’s the policy but I can call coperate because it’s nothing they can do...I called coperate they don’t me all ave are independently owned an it nothing they can do it’s up to the location now but the location told me they can do anything now keep in mind I’m a repeat customer anytime I need a rental I go there or send people there so now my holiday plans are ruined because of the agents yet again giving the wrong info

Worst customer experience in the business. Waited 45 minutes in line for an associate, made a reservation with Thrifty online while waiting and was out the door in 10 minutes with Thrifty.

Made reservation, they took info and credit card info. On day of reservation I show up and they said their computers were down and they couldn’t rent. I argued that they had my rsvp and credit card info... but they wouldn’t release a car. It was Labor Day weekend and most car rental companies were sold out. I did find a rental car but at an much higher price. Not renting for Ace ever again.

We rented a car at ACE in San Diego. We booked through a Hotwire blind rate and I was nervous when I found out it was through ACE but it turned out to be a good experience. The car was nice and clean, and we didn’t have any issues with it. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that ACE in San Diego is not located at the main airport car rental facility, so you have to take two shuttles to get there.

ACE Car rental deserves a zero star. This is by far the worst car rental company I have ever experienced in my life! I am a Las Vegas resident who has been renting cars to drive to southern California for 15 years. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism with the employees and just pure disappointment. Because I am a Las Vegas resident, I was told by the staff I am required to have 2 utilities Bill's from my current residence, a paycheck stub from my current employer. When I asked why the man at the desk said..."Its our policy with locals because locals are more likely to steal or damage the cars" I was absolutely shocked at this. I was standing there with my son and my niece, both kids. Really, ACE Car rental? Yes, I was there to give you my driver license, current vehicle insurance, and current credit credit card, just so me and my family could steal and or damage your car. The man at the desk, a stocky, Black Male Adult, seemed so uncaring and unemotional, I had no doubt at that point he is used to giving EXTREMELY bad service as my shock and disappointment didn't even phase him. I seriously recommend to anyone reading this review...AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! YOU HAVE BEEN ADVISED. To ACE rental company, you need to seriously reevaluate how you do business with locals. Also how your employees represent your company. Because what I went through was a 100% embarrassing, unprofessional, moment.

I wanted to rate it zero stars but that wasn't an option!! Traveling to Tampa by myself to spend a week with my neice went to get my car that I reserved and they had no car for me!! Ended up renting from Avis and paying more than double!! But I have a car!! Thanks Ace for nothing and for leaving me way less sendings money on my vacation!!!

Arrived to ATL airport 2 hrs late for my rental car reservation. The ACE attendant was very rude at counter, basically told me he had nothing unless I wanted to pay an additional 10.00 dollars a day. Along with noting, it was my fault I should have called. That's great advice if I wasn’t on a plane. I probably would have paid the difference if he wasn’t so brash with me, and maybe offered a little empathy or for goodness sake Customer Service. So I took my luggage went to Advantage car rental, received great customer service with a better deal. I will never use ACE again if these are the individuals working behind the counter....

The agent was extremely rude. I Had reservations for "economy or larger" and the agent was going to make me wait 2 hours because he didn't have any economy cars ready. They did not honor the car i had booked and even showed the agent my reservations it said economy or larger. His response was "thats managers discretion " I immediately booked with Alamo for a cheaper rate and got my car instantly. I will never rent from the rude agents in Atlanta again.

Over an hour of waiting; had to take an extra shuttle to get there, we were told at the desk that it is ILLEGAL not to have their extended insurance (negates the savings 100%) and they made us wait in the car while they did the vehicle inspection. All of this was dude to poor planning, poor processes, lack of automation, zero efficiency. Vehicle screeled horrendously, needed new brakes. F minus.

Awful experience at the Miami Airport location - the license plate tags on all cars were expired so they couldn’t rent out anything and the manager (who had the tags) didn’t show up for work. The workers offered no help and only explained that he “was more confused” than me. Ace is a poor excuse of a business.

Counter staff Missy was rude and certanly not friendly. Car had a chip in windshield noticed after we left the airport. She made us return or she wouldnt cover it. Then they said its ok when I returned. Insaid its not ok if it gets worse. 4 phome calls and then they made me walk all the way back inside to the counter again for a replacement rental. Mossy made it seem like it was my fault and the fact that I had to return there damaged car was bothering her. Like Inwas inconveniencing her. I told her I would like to begin the stuff I had planned for the day and how much trouble this is causing. She replied “ sometimes you gotta do what you gotto do” . Aweful customer service

Just had a experience. Went to the counter at 1035. Was told that the place was closed. Very nasty older man who lacks customer service . A woman of a different color was in front of me less than two minutes . The guy had time to assist her but he was very rude and nasty to me . Would never use them for anything and I suggest no one else . They need a entire change in their customer service presence.

WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! SUMMARY: ACE Rent A Car has the worst customer service of any rental car company I have ever used. You should expect to spend 3-4 hours waiting in line before you can pickup your car. You should expect to receive a car without a full tank. You should expect to be charged for not filling up the tank of gas upon return, even when it isreturned with the same amount of gas that you were given. Finally, you should expect that customer service will not answer or return your calls when you try to dispute fraudulent charges. RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. Plan 3-4 hours for pickup. 2. Take pictures of the entire car and your gas gauge when you pickup and return. 3. Force them to give you a receipt upon return. 4. Expect to wait 2-3 hours to get a receipt upon return.

Rent from anywhere but this company. Appears cheap on the surface but the staff will try to rip you off at every turn. From the Rental Agent telling me that "All of the roads in Miami are toll roads."In an attempt extract more money . To the citing stone chips on the front bumper of the vehicle as damages on me. My business credit card covers this but what a racket. That was my first time renting from this company at the Miami, Fl. location Never again.

What a joke, if I could rate them 0 stars I would. We reserved a van through ace, and when we got there we were told the van had been damaged but they would bring us to another rental place and get us our van for the same price. At the other counter we found out our rental was $60 more than the ace price. I was assured by the ace rep when I bring the van back I’ll be reimbursed the $60, and the guy showed me he had put it in the notes. When I returned the car, of course nobody wanted to reimburse me. The manager said I should send an email to accounting and they would reimburse me. Real shocker, we were never reimbursed. Don’t use Ace unless you want to be disappointed

Economy rent a car is honest no hustle at all. We very satisfied and happy with our experience. Compare to our experience in other car rental company so many ads on fees on top of everything end up paying lot of money. But economy make a trip complete.

The car rental process was easy enough. However, I arrived about 10 minutes before my scheduled pick up time to do the check in for the car and that was the time that they put my rental starting. But the time to return on my receipt was 24 hours from the time I originally reserved. (1 day rental) So when I returned I got billed for two days instead of one! The only reason this review isn’t one-star is because of the very nice employee who help me correct my bill. He was awesome. But in the future, if using this company, I will not approach the rental desk until exactly my reservation time. Lesson learned. As it turns out, I ended up getting charged for an extra hour, which I guess I can live with although I drove the car off the lot 24 hours prior to my stated return time and returned on time.

I rented from ACE when I vacationed in Tampa from January 3-10, 2019. I had a great experience, I was a bit nervous about renting from ACE given some of the reviews I read and the fact I had never heard of ACE before. It ended up being a great experience, check out was quick and easy and because I had proof of a return flight home, I had no deposit. My only complaint would be that the gas needle was a smidge under full (way more than 3/4ths but just under full) and was charged an additional $10.99. I realize this is your policy I returned the ca 6 hours early, had the gentleman who inspected the car when I returned the car mentioned that, I would have gladly went and added the less than $5 it would have cost me to completely fill the tank! I am however looking forward to my rental with ACE coming up in August 2019.

I was happy with the overall price and experience, however, I was quite surprised when I got to the counter and they told me the unlimited miles were only for GA (the state I picked it up). Otherwise I only got 150 miles a day-any miles above that were .29 cents per mile. I was shocked. I booked the reservation on Expedia and just saw the unlimited mileage. Please make sure you read everything when you book online so you aren't as shocked as I was.

Sean gave me the most horrible experience I've ever had. I'm in sales and i know that they make commission on every add on. This guy didn't even know where we were going and already assumed and added extra miles onto our bill. Then he called our insurance and our credit card company to validate collision coverage which i have and he said that I still had to get their insurance because my insurance didn't cover collision but my credit card did. My total went from 368.00 to almost 500.00. I cancelled my reservation and went to the next window with Advantage Rent A Car and got a better car and deal.

If you’re on any sort of schedule DO NOT book this place. They misrepresented themselves as being located at the Las Vegas airport but in reality, they are quite a distance away. My plane landed at 9:45. After that I found out I had to ride not one, but two shuttles on a wild goose chase through the city to find the place. Passing up several car rental places (that I could have easily took an Uber to if they were honest about their location) Once the shuttle dropped us off , we then stood in line for over an hour. There was only three people ahead of me. It was almost midnight by the time I drove off in my rental and I was the first person off my shuttle. By then the line was almost out the door. Definitely would not recommend

Car was dirty when I picked it up in Atlanta. The attendant told me their car wash was broken. It looked like cat hair all over the seats and floor. The windshield wipers were in bad shape. ZERO STARS! BUYER BEWARE! Stick with one of the MAJOR car rental companies, the hassle you have to go through to save a few bucks IS NOT WORTH the savings. 1. Only one (1) person working the front counter during our entire "experience", approximately 2.5 hours. 2. To rent "locally" you must have a copy of a utility bill. They say it is listed on the site, which after much searching, it is. BUT, it is in the SUPER FINE print that NO ONE reads. Also, if you are a driver licensed in FL you MUST bring a copy of you insurance card. I don't know about you, but I don't usually carry those items on my person, nor do most people. 3. After this 2.5 hour ORDEAL, we FINALLY get the rental, a nissan rogue. Car smells like puke on the inside, multiple scratches and dings on exterior, both rear tires are bad, the windshield wipers need replacement (Which we "conveniently" found out during a FL thunderstorm!) and it is in need of one hell of a tune-up. Thank goodness we only "need" this POS for 2 days. NEVER AGAIN ACE, NEVER AGAIN.

However, upon my arrival, a lovely woman accommodated me with no issues and I was on my way. Thought I was receiving a Taurus but received a 2015 Camry. Great service. My experience with ACE Rent A Car was very disappointing. At the Las Vegas airport there are shuttles that drive to a hub of Rent a Car companies. Practically all Rent a Cars are there, except ACE. For ACE we had to take a second shuttle. Once we arrived at their facility we had to wait 40 minutes in a line-up. After finishing all the paper work they sent us to another line which was outside in order to get the vehicle that we rented. That was another 30 minutes waiting time outside with no air-conditioning. All in all it was a very unpleasant experience.

The most unprofessional staff ever. This company will trick you into signing up for their insurance and tell you they will not rent you a car without their personal coverage!!!! Disappointed in this place and its employees. I can not believe this place is still In business after reading the reviews. The location is not with the other car rental agencies and ACE does not pick you up from the airport nor drops you off at the airport you have to take a shuttle to the car rental hub then get picked up by ACE and the same goes for trying to catch a flight. The very poor customer service and dirty cars are not worth the couple bucks you will save renting from here.

Please avoid and rent elsewhere! Was tricked into buying rental insurance that I did not need. I was fully covered by my own insurance company and my credit card. Told the agent I do not need any additional coverage but he proceeded to trick me into signing up for it anyways. Should have paid more attention but I would rather rent somewhere that I can trust the staff to do what is best for the customer. My original $25/day cost turned into $41/day. Worst location. Had to take 2 shuttles just to get to the lot. Never had a car rental experience so bad. Highly suggest to avoid ACE LAS.

If you value your safety, DO NOT rent a car from ACE. We picked up our rental car last Friday and were only 20 minutes away from the airport, driving in the far left (HOV) lane on I-85 when the left rear tire blew out. Thankfully, I was able to cross 6 lanes of traffic (with many tractor-trailers) to get off the highway and exit before the car stopped moving. Our entire family, including me, my husband, and our 7-year-old daughter were in the car. When we called ACE, they immediately told us that it was our fault and that we would be expected to pay for the tire. They didn't offer to bring us another car. My husband changed the tire and put on the spare, and we slowly drove to our destination (in town for a funeral) and parked the car until we returned to the airport on Sunday morning. When we returned the car, ACE reiterated its demand that we pay for the tire. We are disputing the charge. This is a terrible company. We will never rent through them again and are telling everyone we know about this experience, including the Georgia Attorney General's office. I feel that we are very fortunate not to have been hurt or killed. We took photos of the tire, as well as a photo of the spare, which was sitting in water in the back well. I suspect that the tire that exploded had dry-rotted.

I was actually ok with the check in. I was unhappy with taking the shuttle from the Airport to the rental car facility then get into another shuttle to ACE. I was dark driving up to the facility. The driver was sort of nonchalant. Finally I was not happy with the checkout of the vehicle- the check out rep was shavez-??? He was unprofessional, used language like WHAT- whatcha mean by asking is there someone coming. He also just walked off when he finished pictures didn’t give any acknowledgement of thank you or have a good evening we appreciate you using ACE. I personally would not recommend this rental car company ever. Thanks

Appears to be an inexpensive alternative...a deal... until you buy the insurance and the gas scam option. This is probably typical with most rental car companies BUT this one was not worth the trouble. Primarily because of the location of the site. You get shuttled from the airport to one location and then shuttled again to a 2nd location! When you're tired and ready to refreshed up... you have to be shuttled twice...before you get to take your car. Inconvenient! As I write this, I still have the "Hold" on my credit card....receipt is already prepared...annoying! On the plus side, the shuttle drivers going and coming (to the 2nd location) were very nice and professional! The vehicle was also very nice with no problems. I would not use this company again... unless they correct the shuttle situation.

This company is a relatively new startup and it shows. The people here are young and inexperienced. The check in process as everyone has noted is absolutely horrible. Many people getting and unexpected request to produce car insurance declaration pages showing that they are covered by their own insurance or purchase there very high per day insurance coverage. The location is in an old warehouse / garage bay area. I went with this company because I got an incredible deal on hotwire. Much like the rest of Vegas, the service is designed to pull in the customer and then upsell them on additional services or the original purchase is void. I was lucky enough to have my American Express Card customer service agent email my coverage and produce my own insurance by phoning home to my daughter and having her texted it to me. Aside from the insurance issues, these people are walking around in a daze. On my trip back to the airport I was alone in the shuttle and speaking to the shuttle driver. He said that this place has a revolving door. Many employees come and go in days. They are either fired or quite because the management is so poor. Being a small business owner myself I can tell you that this is a recipe for failure. TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS POORLY AND YOUR EMPLOYEES TOO.... Your life expectancy will be very short.

My sister rented a car for a ridiculous amount of money then when we drove off we started driving on the highway the steering wheel was shaking we pulled over the tire needed air we put air, then the light in the car for the tires went on indicating something was wrong with the tires...we brought it back for an exchange they gave us a worse car it left us stranded it was a battery and the company expected us to find a way to get jumper cables and start it finally they arrived it was the battery they are very irresponsible they do not maintence their cars they do not change their tires....I give them a negative start!!!!

I rented a car last August at the Clearwater agency and had a great customer service and was very painless. I'm coming to Tampa this coming Saturday and renting with you guys again but at the Tampa location, was told that you closed at 10pm so with my flight coming in at 9:30 pm I didnt rent until pickup until Sunday 8am. But just found out that your actually opened until 11pm, but kind of nervous to try add pickup at 10:30pm Saturday because of the reviews. I'm hoping I have another great experience with Ace as I did in August.

I was refused a car at the desk because I had an extension license which is a printed (legal) document that is provided while your plastic license is mailed. I was left stranded and told that no company would take my temporary license. Really? Alamo, Avis, Dollar, just to name a few all did, I eventually booked with Alamo and for a car. STAY AWAY from this company. The manager actually yelled at me and said “ I CANNOT HELP YOU” while raising his hands in the air, I was stunned. What kind of customer service is this? Now, I get it if this is their policy... I really do. But the sheer unprofessionalism of the staff (especially the Manager) was staggering, How he is employed there is beyond me.

You get what you pay for. Check the warning light was on almost from the beginning. Note the scratches and dents carefully because the cars have lots of miles on them. The guy at checkout was very nice and friendly. So use ACE when you go to FLA where rental costs are huge. Our location was the Tampa airport which has all the agencies in one building. Take a tram there from the terminal.

Reserved a car for $209 for 6 days 7/19-7/25. This was our first time home in 3 years, traveling from Idaho to Georgia. We drove from Idaho to Denver, Colorado and flew to Atlanta, Ga. Got our car at the Atl Airport. Later we found we were charged nearly $500!! Piss poor service, questioned like we were from out of country and screwed over royally!! Will use a better known business from now on. Stay away from these scammers!! Crazy part is the manager said they would hold us at an additional$200 fee but wouldn't be charged upon return. Yet we have a $81 and $400 and something charge. Will definitely be filing a complaint with them and the account they overcharged! Stay away!!

I am not happy with the service here. We were quoted a price online and then when my father went to pick it up he was bombarded with upgrades and other additional cost. We almost left with a completely different vehicle. They get one star because I was able to go back and fix a few things. My father almost spent twice as much as needed for something he did not need. Baffling service today. I've been here multiple times, and usually the service is great. Today, I was told I could not pick up my rental car without providing a return flight itinerary. My business is such that I never know the time of day I'm leaving until the day of. I've been here probably 6 times in the past year and a return itinerary has never been a requirement. It wouldn't have been nearly as big of a deal if they would have been polite when they told me this or if I could have been notified in advance, such as when I pre-booked online. Instead, they were extremely rude and condescending offering no explanation as to why this is the first time it's ever been required. I come to Atlanta on business about twice per month, so they just lost thousands of dollars in business; unfortunately it seems they really don't care. If I could give negative stars I would. Ace Rental Car at Tampa Airport is the worst. Mario called my mother who was visiting from Wa state helping my father while he had surgery and was taken off a ventilator. My mother stayed in contact with them because every time she wanted to extend her lease she had to drive from Tallahassee to Tampa to do paper work. She could not go to a different ace to get a different car she had to drive hours just to extend her car rental. Mario and everyone at the Ace Rental Car in Tampa , FL has the worst customer service imaginable. The one customer rep that was on duty at 10:20 on 9/12 raised her voice to me and spoke negatively about my mother, Mario ended up calling my mother while she was with my father at the hospital and threatened that he was going to put her in jail and put a warrant out for her arrest if she did not get to Tampa in a couple hours which is a 4 hour drive from her. They would not extend her they would not offer a different option. This place needs to be re staffed and everyone there needs to go through a class for customer care or go to church because they need some type of healing. NEVER GO HERE!!!!!!! WORST PLACE EVER.

This is the most unhelpful rental car agency I've ever been to and the rudest lady was working at the airport as well. My family was in Atlanta for a funeral, to help with logistics I took care of the car rental but used my mother's credit card. I forgot to change the default name on Google to my mother's name and when we went to get the car. The lady refused to let us get a car, even though my mother was there with her same card and valid ID. We tried to cancel the reservation and rereserve the car under my mother's name but they said they only had SUVs. After all this trouble we went to the next Booth over which was National Car Rental we got a car saved money and dealt with a nicer lady at the desk. Avoid Ace Car Rental like the plague.

First time in Atlanta and renting car from Ace. First off, the attendant that brought me my car looked like he just walked up off of the street. Not professional looking and nothing to identify him as working for Ace. Brought the car to me which was dirty, greasy smear marks all over radio and dash area, stains all over every seat, crack in windshield, missing inner fender well, and stunk of marijuana so bad! They tried to cover up marijuana smell with an overboard dose of car scent. Everyone that got into the car during my one week rental said how bad it smelled like marijuana. The pickup and return locations are not located in the airport. You pickup your vehicle in one location and return the vehicle in another location that's not the pickup place. I had to return my vehicle early in the morning and it took me almost an hour and half to find the return location. It was in back of a hotel. Even if you used your GPS, you may still get lost.

The place was great but I was overcharged for gas that I prepaid for n I bought car back almost full n I was not refunded. when I arrived to turn in car the employee asked was amount right on hand meter n I said No n they told me to go to counter and let them know but as I was walking in building I became very sick n had to be rush to hospital n never got to talk to anyone n I called the number on my paper which no one answered n it was the main number not the actual location that helped me. Not only was the car renting experience great, the company's honesty and integrity goes above and beyond my expectations. My wife left her wedding ring and earrings in the car by accident. We thought they were gone forever, but ACE Rent A Car contacted us and let us know that they found them in the car! They mailed them across the country back to my house. @ Las Vegas ace airport branch. These guys act like bottom feeders, like their customers have no other options. I don't think I'll rent from them ever again. I was greeted properly, but that was about the last positive thing. I handed over my id, and the agent said I'd have to deposit an extra $500 ("locals" have to do that, apparently due to excessive fraud etc.) It took me some time to convince him to look at it again (I live upstate in Reno, 500 miles away, so hardly a local). So then he said I'm early (my flight was delayed and the airline put me on an earlier flight) , and he has no car to give me (the lot was full of small cars). Except, of course, if I paid extra. Never ever had I heard such a thing before at any rental company. I'd expect him to apologize for not having the car available, and if I was interesting in renting a higher category. So I specifically asked again, if he wasn't willing to rent me the car reserved. He declined, and I left. I hadn't rented from ace in a very long time, so I had made a backup reservation, just in case, and did receive great service elsewhere. I can only recommend you do the same. If these guys understand one message, it's a full lot of unrented cars, and people not using their reservations, because they get turned off by miserable service.

Tl;Dr - This is not at/in the airport and requires a shuttle...definitely worth it to book elsewhere. If you're not flying in and need a rental then sure, book here if it's cheapest. All of the reviews are accurate. Do not book here if you're flying into Tampa Airport, as it's not at the airport and didn't seem to save much money over the real rental agencies right outside the terminals. The shuttle took roughly 45 minutes to show up (got to watch every other shuttle make multiple trips) and the staff that we had was not a friendly person. I don't think either of us were happy to be there, but he seemed to show it more. The car was a car...it was nice and worked well. There were some scratches around the car when I picked it up, but I was able to indicate it before taking it out of the lot. No, staff won't walk out to the car with you to confirm anything, so you'll have to do the check yourself and head back inside to give the slip. Drop off: There is a $12 fee for returning the car out of hours, but the return garage is/was actually more convenient, so I'm not too disappointed about this part. The garage is closer to the airport and no one had to wait more than a few minutes for the shuttle, but the garage is run by A-1, not ACE, so I don't really give them the credit for it.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We got to the reveal counter an hour early and they said I'd have to wait until my scheduled pickup time because they didn't have the type of vehicle I reserved (but they did have SUVs available if I wanted to pay triple the price). I then overheard the next lady in line say her reservation was already overdue and the agent told her said she'd have to wait until more vehicles came in as well. In other words, ACE is overbooking their rentals just to keep their vehicles constantly rented at the price of customers not getting a vehicle or having to wait way longer than expected. This is horrible business practice and if they were any other customer based industry (ie airline), they'd be sued or run out of business. On top of all this, the agent was just plain rude about it and was watching/ taking care of a baby while trying to help customers. We ended up renting from another company and will avoid ACE at all cost in the future.

This company is the worst car rental company out there. I rent cars all the time and this is my first time with ACE and will definitely be my last. First, the lady at the counter was the most unprofessional human being I had dealt with in recent time, she was very arrogant and nasty in explaining the mileage policy. They played me by telling me I don’t have unlimited mileage, which was what I thought I get during booking. They gave me a reckety banged up vehicle with lots of dents and scratches my goodness that vehicle was a Junk car that needs to be trashed and then I requested for a different vehicle their story became too long to comprehend, so I decided to take pictures of the dents and scratches for my protection. Vehicle had a horrible stench smell and then the gas wasn’t full tank when I picked up and they wanted me to return vehicle with full tank of gas, and also the charging port wasn’t working Infact I hated this experience that I felt like cancelling my rental that day, though if I did I would be stranded. I will definitely NOT recommend ACE rental to my worst enemy. Infact Ace has no business been in the car rental biz.

Very very bad experience - Would never recommend.. Way off of Fort Lauderdale airport, in rough part of town - so if you want to try another place, forget it . Once you are there you are stuck. Up charges were practically forced on you with manipulation and intimidation tactics. Proof of liability insurance required if you want to declined their insurance, even though I purchased collision insurance online with resrvation and had email proof. This never happened at Alamo or Hertz. This is all corporate BS tactics. Don't blame the desk staff. They were ok. They got it.

I rented a car on the 18th of March via Hotwire and paid in full. I paid for the $200 deposit when I picked up the vehicle and was told the deposit would be released shortly after returning the vehicle. I’m not giving them a low rating because of the customer service at the location or the fairly dated vehicle but more so because of the the delay in getting me back my deposit. It’s been 3 weeks since I’ve returned the vehicle and still waiting on my deposit. They offer fairly reasonable rental prices but rent a vehicle with this company at your own risk. Keep in mind that they’ll hold on to your deposit for dear life and the vehicle you’ll be getting will most likely be an older car. They don’t seem to replenish their fleet very often but the one good thing I will say about them is that the lady who helped me at the location was very nice but it doesn’t make it ok to hold on to my money. I had the worst experience with them. We flew in on Wednesday Nov 6, 2018, due to a death in our family. We rented the car at last minute via Expedia, We had the car from Wednesday thru Tuesday Nov 13, 2018, the car was poorly maintained and sounded bad but it took us back and forth to our family. The day we were to returned the car it got booted (towed) cause they owe parking tickets, we had to take a Taxi from Queens,NY to Newark,NJ which cost me $120. They then had the nerve to charge me $500 dollars Twice totaling an amount of $1,000 when we were only supposed to pay $280 dollars for the rental. I called them and advised them that their car got towed and they need to reimburse me due to the inconvenience that family had to endure. This was the worst experience we ever had and we are still fighting to be reimbursed our money. Worst experience of my travel life. I booked through hotwire. Showed up at the office which is a total dump. They took a $200 deposit which I have yet to get back. The car was full of mud, starburst wrappers and still had garbage from the last user. I ended up having to switch airports i was flying out of and there was no way to get a hold of the office to see if I could drop off elsewhere. They don't work on weekends, answer their phone during the week nor do they respond to emails or bank disputes.

Right after I rented I called to find out how I would get from the airport to Elizabeth and the guy told me to just go down to the baggage claim and they would pick me up there could just call the number. So I did that and the girl that answered said they didn't pick up people at the airport that I had to go on the AirTrain and then to Hilton Shuttle which I did. I got to the office and it look like a pigsty. I wouldn't even think about sitting down in there. what a dump. Then they charged me a $300 deposit even though I pay in full before I got there. She said I would get it back in 5 to 10 days. We will see. She not only wanted me to sign a $300 credit card bill but then she gave me a blank old credit card multi-page form to sign. I told her I wasn't signing it. I forgot to look at whether my name was stamped on it I would normally would have tore up. Then they gave me this car that was dirty it had mud all over it the inside was dirty the trunk was dirty and they said that was the best car they had I could go back in and start all over with paperwork which I absolutely did not want to do. So I had the guy who brought the car around give me antiseptic wipes and he and I wipe the inside of the car down. The outside is still dirty. He said that they had been too busy to wash the cars because of the holiday. I said what holiday and Father's Day I laughed at him. Anyway I'm supposed to take the car back tomorrow and drop the keys off in a little slot that's just a hole in the wall it's not even an official slot so we'll see. Worst car rental experience ever. Besides the fact the car was a junk, I felt like every bump we hit the car was going to fall apart, they overcharged me $180. The day we dropped the car off we called to see if they would charge us for dropping the car off 3 hours later than the quoted time. And the rental place said don't worry about it. So we dropped it off 3 hours later. Then the following week I noticed an extra $180 charge on my credit card. It was because we dropped the car off later. I got $105 of the $180 back. But I still was charged $75 more for 3 extra hours keeping the car, even though they told us we wouldn't be charged. Terrible car and bad customer service.

There were a lot of folks picking up when I was dropping off but Josh, the shuttle driver, stepped up to help expedite the car drop off process. He was friendly, efficient, and professional both during the car return process and during the shuttle ride to the airport. My experiences both picking up and dropping off were great - it's a smaller company with a small office so a bit of a wait it to be expected but all the staff I encountered were working to move the line quickly and weren't trying to hard upsell customers like a lot of other rental car companies I've used.

Worst experience I eve had with a rent a car company. My prepaid reservation was not honored because I did not have round trip airline ticket. I could not not take my flight to Mew Orleans be cause I had a important meeting to attend. That’s the reason I rented a car & booked through rent a car website. Now I am having problems getting my money back. That never happens to me before I will never rent car from Ace.

Horrible experience. Took the shuttle from airport to “all rental cars” only to find out this location which is listed as having shuttle service to being not with the other rental companies and 9 miles away from the airport. They still will charge you for their “airport fee” to give you an added insult. I had a reservation to pick up at 11:00 am and my car was not ready because it was still being cleaned from the previous rental at 12:30pm. The car was heavily damaged with a large dent on the rear bumper and a large crack in the windshield along with multiple smaller dents and scratches all over the vehicle. The staff seemed clueless and more focused on attempting to upsell every possible way. When I complained I received a snarky response saying “you should have read the fine print”. Lastly they informed us that they close at 3pm on our drop off date and no one would be there to retrieve our car. The options were leaving it at the airport for a fee or dropping it off at their location to find our own way back to the airport (no shuttle). I had another rental booked with ACE rental cars for San Francisco in two months however I already cancelled. After reading some of the reviews at that location it seems this company has issues in multiple locations.

I didn't realize this company (I had reserved with economy rent a car) did not operate 24 hrs a day. I have a 6:15 a.m flight and they don't open till 6 a.m. When I told the counter person this jerr suggested I drop off the car thr day before and get an uber to the airport. This place is a joke! I had a reservation for 10/24/18 at 12pm! I arrived at 11:15am. They stayed I would have to pay to upgrade and get a larger car because that’s all they had! I chooses to wait until 12pm! I came back at 12:15pm to find out that because I took a standby flight to Georgia I could not rent a car from them! Who does that! I will never ever think of using this fake rental car company again! Run from them! They would get a zero star from me if they had it!

DON'T. Just DON'T. The shuttle driver was unbearable. Drove 10 mph UNDER the speed limit the entire time and was just praying for red lights so he could stop. The longer each trip takes the less number of bags he has to lift in and out during the day. We got to the Ace Rental Facility and there were 7 people in line in front of us and 2 up at the desk. For THIRTY straight minutes we stood there and nothing moved. The lady in front of us said she had been there for 1.5 hours and the line had barely moved. Every person getting their vehicle was up at the counter for a MINUMUM of 25/30 minutes. It was so bad people had just kept dropping out of line and booking at other places. Horrid customer service. We caught a shuttle back to the main rental car facility where all the other rental car companies are and BUDGET had us in a car and on our way in less than 15 minutes. I would absolutely not book with this specific ACE facility in Las Vegas.

Not worth the discount price. My husband and I rented a Nissan Rouge from the Tampa location. The agent tried to sell us a pay toll package for $9/day. We used one toll between Tampa and Sarasota for $1.50. What a scam! Also the vehicle was in terrible shape. 36,000 miles, many scratches and dents, dirty and smelly interior. The worst was the drivers seat was broken with the seat back pushed forward - very uncomfortable for the driver. The brakes were pulsating and needed to be replaced. After three phone calls the manager finally returned my call. He was willing to exchange the vehicle by coming back to the airport which was one hour away from our stay. There was an Ace rental in Sarasota where we could have exchanged the vehicle but were told this was not an option. We didnt want to drive the unsafe vehicle any further then we needed to. Will never rent from them again!

!!!!LIES!!!! I reserved the car on Expedia, thinking I got a great deal for unlimited mileage, for an out of state trip. When I go to pick up the car, was told at the counter that the car couldn't be driven out of state and there was in fact a 100 mile limitation on the vehicle. Had to cancel reservation and look for another rental....same day as trip (Obviously through a different company) FALSE ADVERTISEMENT....will never book ACE again.

I rented a car at this place and it took forever to get our car. I asked to get a Toyota Corolla and instead got a Hyundai Elantra without mats. The place is old and they still had to clean and wash the car. There is only one person helping out customers and she doesnt care if you tell her that she is to slow. I am never renting a car from this place again. All their cars have no mats.

Rented from a secondary source online who booked a car for me that this company didn't even have on site. They charged me extra for a 7 passenger SUV. When I asked if what I had fit 7 people Fritz said no and immediately got my info and went back to tell the owner Stewart. He confirmed there was an error on the part of the booking site which was horrible because this is not only my birthday weekend but a major holiday weekend as well so there is not a lot left. Fritz worked with me to find something comparable so my vacation wasn't ruined. If you are local and want great local service go see Fritz and Stewart over at Ace/Guardian. I will most def be back and telling family members and friends.

I flew in for a business trip. I thought I was picking up at the airport but it's a different location. Luckily, they do provide shuttle service. Once I got there, I was helped by Anthony. Very professional and extremely helpful. I got the rental fairly quickly, looked and smelled clean. I'll be using Ace for my future rentals. Great experience

We waited 45 minutes to be picked up for the shuttle and then we had another LONG wait along with the other irritated people. We took the vehicle back a day early and decided to Uber it to our flight out of fear we wouldn’t make it on time thanks to Ace’s service. I will give the young men who cleans the cars kudos. They do the best they can for the short amount of time they have. It’s hot in the area they are in but they keep moving. Right now I would not use Ace again. I just did not care for the service at all.

Update: Ace reached out to me and said they will credit my Uber cost since the agent was just on break and they were really open until 11pm. I have updated my review score. —————- I arrived at 10:04pm and no one to be found (they close at 10). My flight was delayed! So I have to UBER back and forth to pick up car the next morning. Such a disaster. Who knew car rental locations at the AIRPORT would close before all the flights came in?? No refund obviously because the rate came in through Hotwire/Priceline. Bottom line, if you rent here, make sure it is no where near 10pm!! Jan 2019.

I wish that we could give a 0/5 rating. We waited in a line of three people for nearly an hour. Looks like we are not the only frustrated party here. People keep coming and leaving without even getting a vehicle because the wait is so long. We were told that this is just how long it usually takes and that during busy times the lineup is out the door and sometimes customers wait for 1.5-2 hours.

I had sudden expected travel plans so i did my research and Ace seemed to be within my budget at approx 125 for a 2 day rental. Whrn i got to the desk all of a sudden it was an extra 20 per day for insurance on top of the protection i had already purchased. Then it was another 200 for something else. I got ripped off for the added protection already purchased and ended up not getting the rental after all. I was in Atlanta so i went to enterprise where i was upgraded from an economy car and they threw in a garmin gps for free as well. The ace representative had the audacity to tell me the website stated these hidden fees but i can assure you i comprehend the difference between $125 and $365 quite well. My suggestion, dont waste your time with these people.

Terrible experience. I show up and they tell me I have to provide them with an Utility bill along with my ID and credit card. I’ve never had that happen to me before. There was no mention of bringing a utility bill when booking. The guy at the counter simply replied “you have to read our terms and conditions”. You would think something like this, since most others don’t require it, would be something they make known up front. My trip was terribly delayed and I had to search around for a company that had cars available and spend much more than I had intended on spending. I guess it goes to show you that cheaper ain’t always better. Will never book with this company again!

I did not rate you higher because of all the requirements! A deposit was required, actually called my insurance company to verify my coverage and I also had to bring on a copy of a utility bill. I provided a major credit card, showed proof of insurance still don’t know why I had to go through all of that. I felt insulted as I have never had any problems or issues renting a car in the past. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone who also happened to be the one processing my paperwork was kind and professional. The vehicle was clean and well maintained. So I gave one star for each positives.

I had a horrible experience. I had a reservation for 1 p.m. My flight was delayed so I didn't arrive until 1:30. They told me my car wasn't available but they had some coming in at two. Not sure why all the bad reviews and comments but this rental business is by far the best and easiest way to go. They are upfront with you about everything and what you book is what you pay. We were in and out in less than an hour and that's including the shuttle ride from the airport and not to mention the shuttle was brand new and a comfortable ride. Once again thanks to Brandy and Taj at the Las Vegas Blvd. office for taking care of us better than any company has in the past years of coming to Vegas.

I would actually rate this as a zero if it were possible. Their service was appalling. The man at the desk was sluggish and rude. Upon hearing that we would be leaving the state, he said that it would rack up too much mileage and that he couldn't do anything for us. We showed him our reservation stating unlimited mileage allowance, to which he argued that conditions varied due to independent ownership (something we had never encountered with ACE before). As owner, he was unwilling to assist us in any way and we were forced to go elsewhere. Please do not waste your time or money here!

I booked online through Priceline. It clearly stated unlimited mileage. Got to the counter to pick up, then they needed utility bills, plus because am a resident of the state, I only had 150 mileage. Well, it was written inside the fine print of the terms. The guy at the counter was very rude. I guess when your pay doesn’t depend on it, you care less. Beware of this particular rental place. This happened in Tampa and at the airport pick up. Horrible experience. Thank goodness, I got Payless, excellent service, the guy was friendly and nice, price and car was great. First and last time I rent from ACE Rent A Car. TLDR: Over charges $188.86 USD only to be hung up on by customer service when looking fro answers to the charges. Just last week some friends and I rented a van from ACE at the Tampa Bay Airport. Originally we had 2 small SUV's booked in advanced. When we arrived to pick them up, the agent at the counter asked if we would like a 14 person van instead? We asked all the questions; is there any extra charges, what's the new price, are there any other changes to the original booking. The agent insisted there were no extra charges or changes and gave us the price and we agreed. This included full coverage for any damage as explained anything from a scratch to the entire vehicle being wrote off in the event of an accident. We did a full circle check with the agent that gave us the keys and we marked all the previous damages clearly on the check list. (There were many scratches and dents on the van during this check). Fast forward to the next day when we returned the van. Again we went around the van for a full circle check with the agent that collected the keys. He said all was good and assured us we were good to go. My friend who's credit card was used to purchase the rental showed me the bill and ACE charged us an extra $188.86 USD in fees. We tried countless times to call customer service, most times the call would go to a full mailbox and hang up and twice when we reached an agent, the agent hung up on us after a few minutes of politely trying to get some answers. I have rented many, many vehicles over the years and never had random charges like this or customer service that won't answer or hang up on you.

After flying for 14 hours, I showed up to find out my rental car reservation had “expired” and there was no car for me. I set my reservation for 8am but due to a flight delay couldn’t get to it until 11am. The woman at the service desk let me know that my car was given away and that they only had suv’s for $200 more. I declined and found a car somewhere else. If you are going to give peoples cars away, you should send a message either letting them know or asking if they are still coming. This is a really poor business practice as it provides a horrible customer experience.

Gave me a car smaller than I reserved/paid for at first but then they caught it and made it right before I left. Had a fairly new car with 3,000 miles on it. Nice and clean. Josh was very friendly. I was a little concerned because of their opening time, after reading a few other reviews. My departing flight was at 8:25a and they open at 7a. They have a 24 drop off a few blocks away, but they charge $11.75 for that. They opened door at 7:02 and I was the only one there. Checked me in right away. The shuttle driver came in early and goes to pick people up around 6:40a and he was back waiting to take me about 7:00. Got to the airport, thru security, and to my gate by 7:23a. Saved me $70 and it all went well for me at Ace.

Worst car rental experience ever. Upon landing, I follow instructions on website to call for shuttle. No answer 4x, then put on hold for 20 min. Finally take an Uber to location (Cypress), place is filthy and empty except for one employee who is answering phones, checking me in, inspecting car etc with no help. He informs me there is no actual shuttle from airport to location. No employee on-site for return of vehicle; 6 calls made to ACE, I was transferred and left on hold over and over. Finally a rep tells me to return car to a different location (at Tampa airport, where they wouldn't rent me a car in the first place, and sent me to Cypress because that's where my reservation was) - fine, did so but was then charged a fee for returning car at a different location + another day because the car was returned late (?!). Car was late because of confusion and lack of competence by ACE! On-site rep told me to call ACE and they would remove fees. Called ACE, left on-hold and transferred over and over again. Eventually an extremely rude rep picks up and tells me he does not know who to talk to about this and he will have to call me back. No call or resolution, I had to file a dispute with my cc company. Never again will I book or refer this incompetent company. - Update, in response to Ace reply...perhaps you should review your calls and your video before responding. My story did not change, as I told the rep that I called multiple times and was on premise with the vehicle. He did not put me on hold, he asked for my number to call me back and I gave it to him. Not surprising at this point, no call back. Additionally, your contract states $3/hour if late so even if the fee incurred was my responsibility, you've still overcharged at the day rate. As a marketing and public relations directory myself, I find your company's lack of accountability, defensive and misinformed responses appalling + your apology with a 10% discount on my next visit hysterical. Good riddance, Ace.

Don't ever use this company. I rented a car for a trip to Spain and ones I got to the counter in Spain they did not accept my US driver license. However in their system when you capture your information they accept the US license. In few words they accept the payment no matter other country rules. They did not cancel the service and they did not return my money. Claiming that the information was there all the time. Not true. Don't trust them. Very very bad service.

Though the gentleman at the counter was a pleasant and well mannered professional, I understand that my horrible experience was not based on his attributes but were because of the hidden practices of the company. It became obvious after the fact that it was purposely not clearly stated, that if you don't travel with the declaration page of your own personal insurance coverage, and that a presentation of your current full coverage insurance cards would not be acceptable, and will necessitate the purchase of their insurance. I thought that after making an arrangement prior to my arrival would cause all to go well and rather quickly at the pick up counter (I was on a rather tight time schedule for business)...... I lost about an hour there at the counter working to resolve this unforeseen issue..... I will WARN!!!!!! any and everyone of this unsavoury practice .... It will cost you time and money !!!!!!

I rented from this company for the first time. I wanted an inexpensive vehicle rental and got what I paid for - a bare bones Nissan Versa. The shuttle was prompt and courteous. The location was about 3 miles away from the Tampa airport. Checkout of vehicle was friendly and efficient - but read all forms carefully. Office decor could use some updating Look over the vehicle carefully and take pictures. (You should do this for ALL car rentals.) Basically a no frills outfit that fits the bill in giving you a dependable vehicle at a low price - just don't expect the fancy decor and fireworks of Avis, Enterprise, Hertz, Alamo, etc.

Given an option I would give 0 star. This is the worst rental company and I had worst experience here. I opted for mid size SUV and paid at the counter. In return I got a different car that had no license plate and had expired 30-days temporary paper. The Manager is very unprofessional and wouldn’t help you at all. SCAM ARTISTS! BAIT & SWITCH! My family reserved a mini van a couple weeks in advance via Priceline. On pick up day, they didn’t have a minivan, only a Dodge Journey which was significantly smaller than the mini van we paid for. They advertise ‘unlimited mileage’ which fit our needs since we were traveling out of state. False advertisement.... unlimited mileage UP TO 250 mile radius so they sprung an additional $200 fee which was NOT listed in the email not their website....and why would it since they do advertise unlimited miles. Just to add insult to injury, we needed to repeatedly call them to ask for our refundable deposit of $150... also not advertised on neither their site nor Priceline. Shame on me for not not reading the reviews first.

Ripped OFF Rented a 15 passenger van for the second year in a row for my companies yearly trip. We got to the reservation desk at 1:35, the guy who took care of us was sucking on a lollipop and I couldn't understand anything he was saying. Got down to the garage at about 1:50 had to wait for about 15 minutes for someone to take care of us. Then I had to go check out the vehicle myself and write down all of the damage because the employee was too lazy to get out of the booth. We finally got out of the agency at 2:10. Returned the vehicle 2 days later at almost the exact time, 2:10, had to wait 15 minutes for someone to check in the vehicle and then was told I was late and was being charged another day. I asked for a manager and the employee said there wasn't one, I told him I was not paying for an extra day and he said too bad yes you are. So it seem they start your time when you are at the reservations desk not when you get the vehicle. I had to catch a flight, so I figured I would deal with it when I got home. I call the Ace Rental car 877 number and spoke to someone in customer service, she said I had to speak to the Tampa office and transfered me, which went straight to a voicemail. I called back and asked to speak to someone and did not want to be transferred to the Tampa office, so I was transferred to a recorded message that told me that each office handles their own rentals and to leave a message. So it seams that there is no customer service or recourse other that stopping the payment on my credit card for the extra day. I will never use this company again, I rent about 15-18 cars a year when I am out of town, but will never rent from these thieves again!

I made a eservation on line, was supposed to pick up on 09/19, my flight from Phoenix was canceled due to flooding in Houston, which was my layover city. I called ACE to change my pickup time to 09/20 at 530pm which was completed with no resistance. My flight was delayed again on 09/20 and I had to change my pick up time again. Called and spoke to the "manager John" directly and he told me I need to change the pickup time online and he refused to help me because of their "policy". I explained to him that I called them directly the day before and changed the pickup time with no problem. He proceeded to tell me, in a unprofessional manner, that employee that helped me was suspended for helping me. Inappropriate a bit? Amazing that this guy, "John", represents any company as a "manager". I tried to plead with him that I was inconvenienced, to no fault of mine. He didnt care. So, John, you could of done the right thing for me, your customer, but you chose not to. Therefore, I am not a customer, and never will be. Just rented a standard suv for a week through Hotwire. When I found out the company was Ace I started reading reviews online and got nervous. Happy to report we had a seamless experience with this company. Arrived in Tampa at noon and two representatives were at the front desk. We did have to wait a few minutes in line but were off to get our car in less than 30 minutes. The representative was friendly. We then proceeded to the garage and got our car a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee in excellent condition. The car worked great and had nice features such as auto start, auto rear lift gate and backup camera. When we returned the car they gave us time to upload and didnt rush us like some companies do. Great experience and would rent from them again!

It took 1hr and 20 min to get to counter, and only 6 people on front of me. Car isn't vacuumed and prob not cleaned in weeks. They check outside for four scratches and dents, but don't check inside. Picked ace because it was the cheapest, not worth it! Definitely won't rent here again.

I've been waiting at the airport rental car location for the offsite shuttle (news to me that they aren't co-located with the rest of the rental car companies) for over 30 minutes. It's sweltering! The phone numbers in my reservation and online will not connect you to a person so that you can call the shuttle. This is ridiculous. Do not rent from these guys. I've seen every other offsite company's shuttle at least 3 times.

Meanwhile the vehicle has not been pulled into the bay for wash and vacuum yet after 15 mins of waiting. And to top it off, they make you wait behind cars that are not waiting for pickup. Poor customer service, incorrect web info on price. Car is unsafe, needed new wipers, no wiper fluid, check tire pressure light alert as soon as I left the pick up area. Have had to fight to keep it in my lane as it drifts all over the road. Charged additional $10/day and $200 hold for using a debit card even with proof of return flight which was all that website stated was needed for advertised price. Reserved car through ACE via AARP Expedia for family medical emergency. Arrived at airport, went to pick up car and because I had not yet booked a return flight, they refused to rent me a vehicle. Said that was their policy. I had to go from rental car counter to rental car counter to find one that had a vehicle. Of course now I had to pay over double the price. Next day I checked all the rules and restrictions on my reservation and the AARP Expedia website. No mention of this bizarre rule. Called ACE Customer Care, was told that this restriction is on their site and they’re not responsible for data on 3rd party websites. Really? They have no responsibility to make sure 3rd parties that they use represent them accurately? Nothing they could do! I should take it up with AARP/Expedia. Would never consider using this company again.

Horrible experience. You can't get through to customer service. All I did was vent to Darrell the manager at the Tampa location. I had tried to get through for 3 hours. He was short with me and rude, talked over me and was not helpful at all. He eventually wanted to show his power and told me I will not extend the rental. I contacted corporate. Make sure to check your account when you leave. I was overcharged. When I dropped off the car, I was told by the two associates at the podium that they weren't open yet, and that I should just leave the keys with them and they'll get me checked in as soon as they open. Apparently, they didn't check the car in until later that afternoon, so I was charged a per hour late fee. When I called the manager he said to send him my flight itinerary and he'll "see what he can do" I would have been better off just disputing the charge instead of giving them an opportunity to make it right. Actually zero stars. After twelve hours of traveling, one expects to be able to get the rental quickly and go get some rest. After almost two more hours of waiting in line, the cost was near twice as much as on our online registration, the vehicle was empty of fuel and when I asked an employee, I got an eye roll. Like many others we had a long wait for the shuttle even after calling the office twice. We reserved a full size car 6 weeks before only to find out that one was not available. Unlike reviewer Doug Nelson, we were not offered a larger car at a discount price. Instead, they offered a smaller car at regular price and told us that it is a discount from the full size car price. We were not happy with the service either. I would use caution when using this place and have a back up plan in case things don't go the way you planned. Good news is that there are plenty of other options near by(walking distance) in case you want to take your business elsewhere. We were able to contact another car rental company and they even picked us up and were able to provide what we were looking for. Note 4/23/17: no notification was given when they ran out of full sized vehicles. If this is a common occurrence then may I suggest you notify customers before they get to the store so that they can make other arrangements if needed. I check my reviews often and this is the first time I have seen a reply to my post. Be cautious when doing business with this company and read everything in the contract. Good price(up front) but may not be worth the trouble that so many others have run into.

Well, ACE is the worse car renter that I ever met. I have some good point and bad points, but definitely they aren't in my plans for my next trip. Good points: - New car - Satellite radio Bad points: - They were hiding fees. My quote was about $70 but I had to add theirs insurance (mandatory) and I paid almost extra $100. Final price for a $70 quote was $158 (just the quote + insurance and without extra driver and full tank) - They charge $40 for an extra driver. - As you need to get a second shuttle to get there (because they aren't at the airport), you are completely vulnerable to them. You loose all chance of bargain and if you are tired (as I was), probably you will accept the deal just to finish the nightmare and head to hotel. I don't recommend this renter (ACE Rent A Car)

This is an awful rental car facility. Their policies are horrible and terribly misleading. If you have a Georgia drivers license please be advised you will NOT get unlimited mileage like they falsely advertise on many different platforms. Also the lady Tracey that works at the front counter is extremely rude and disrespectful. She has no customer service etiquette and had a mean smug on her face the entire time she was helping me and she acted like she was too good to even be working. Ridiculously long wait times, this included the shuttle ride which is not include in the information when booking. My flight landed at 1, it took 2.5 hours to get to the renting center which is off site and to get put in a rental. Just need to be fully staffed as Las Vegas is a tourist city so there is always going to be a crowd. Lessons learned that cheaper is not always better. Overall the car is nice though!

Worst customer experience I've ever had. On the way to return the car one of our rear tires went flat about 20 miles from the rental office. We called the office 4-5 times and left two messages but were left stranded on the side of a bridge with no guidance for an hour (despite this being during business hours). We called the national Ace number and they simply said, "You're on your own. Nothing we can do." We got out and found a spare tire in the trunk, replaced the flat, and after we still had no response from the Tampa branch we drove the car back to the rental place. When we got there the employee checking in the cars threw his hands up in the air and asked, "What the hell did you do? Why the hell is there a spare tire on that car?" He verbally accosted me and my wife, berating us for stupidly not calling the office when the tire went flat. We informed him that we had called and left two messages and waited for an hour for a response at which he just shook his head. He made us wait as he helped 5 cars who had arrived after us, then told us he was going to charge us $120 for the flat tire. He assured us that we had been given a car with four good tires and this was clearly our fault. We disputed this and then brought the issue up with the rental clerk upstairs. He said there was nothing he could do and that he had been too busy to respond to our calls. We called corporate and talked with the manager of this branch - ultimately, they apologized for the poor customer service and for leaving us stranded on the side of the road for an hour (and for never returning our calls) but said that they felt we had done something to cause the flat tire (despite driving the car on well-paved roads <100 miles) and that the $120 fee would stand. Definitely recommend staying away from Ace - choose another provider for your rental car.

Rental process was great as far as the clerk and paperwork went, very professional and nice! The attendant who brought the car to me was courteous and helpful. Only issue was upon returning the vehicle, had to drive up and down rows in the return lot to locate a spot for Ace which was listed under a different name. Went in the place, stood there for 20 mins waiting to be helped because they only had one guy at the front desk. Then was told I have to have an utility bill that matches my drivers license name and address. I just moved out from my parents so my new address is not on the drivers license yet. The utility bill is showing my new address. And I have my bank statement with the old address that matches the drivers license, but they won't take it. I understand they are trying to prevent people from stealing cars. But why is the rule only apply to Floridians? That rule is simply blocking their business cause if you think about it, there is normally one person pays for all utility bills in a household. So if a family has 2 adults and say couple teenagers in their 18-20s. They can only do business with one out 4+ person. And that's if that one person happens to read their rule and bring a utility bill with him/her.

Long wait, when we finally got the van the interior smelled like cigarette smoke and the air conditioner was luke warm at its max...in Vegas! had to drive back to the shop to exchange it which they allows at no extra cost....we got a newer model KIA van with cold air thankfully. Unfortunately, we found old trash under the seats, in the door and seat pockets and all 4 tires were low in air pressure. If you want economy you get what you pay for, have low expectations and you won’t be disappointed. I went to the counter at ATL with a reservation for 5 days and after barely greeted by the "customer service agent", coldly was told that I could not rent a car due to not having a reservation that matched my itinerary... I was shocked by the lack of initiative and disregard for a customer with tons of options all over the car rental center by the representative at the counter who did not even apologize for the situation. I have no idea if this is a horrid company policy or lack of customer service skills by the counter gent but either way is, at least in my book as a customer service supervisor with Delta Air Lines, a tremendous service failure and rest assured I will use that example as "what NOT to do" in our company training pieces. Result: I literally went a couple counters to the left where I was extremely well received by the Alamo's agent who rented me a car in less then 5 minutes, very courteous and efficient and, by the way with a slightly better car and rental rate as well. Unfortunately, my first experience with ACE was very disappointing and it'll certainly be, the last. I am sorry but I still think feedback is a gift. To whomever receives it and I hope it serves its purpose for the future of your company in a very competitive market where all customers have literally tons of choices.

The employees are nice and do their job, but the set up with having to take a SECOND shuttle bus, and the ridiculously long wait to get the car, and the fact that their hours do not allow for taking an early morning flight make me choose never to rent from them in Las Vegas. When I came to Ace counter at Atlanta airport rental center, female clerk demanded to purchase extra insurance, didn't want to consider that my credit card covers FULL insurance. This is a common car rental scam in some 3rd world countries, but not in USA! MY CREDIT CARD COVERS FULL INSURANCE WITH ANY CAR RENTAL COMPANY AROUND THE WORLD, BUT NOT WITH ACE! Don't be fooled with fake low price when you book, you will be forced to pay much more at the time of pick up. Female clerk was very nasty and rude when I refused to pay extra for the insurance and asked to cancel my reservation. Please take your business somewhere else, just like I did.

The staff at ACE Rent a Car in Newark is friendly, hospitable, and delivers excellent customer service. Picking up my car was a seamless experience. We even shared a few laughs with our rep as he helped us through the quick and painless paperwork and car walk through. We got a brand new 2019 car- it was clean and super affordable! The reason I give 5 stars for this experience is because after dropping off my car (which was hassle free, literally parking the vehicle and dropping my keys in the box), I realized I forgot some items in the vehicle. I called the next morning and my rep took my address for shipping and is even calling me back with my tracking number. I couldn’t have done this without him. Recently my brother and I rented a van to travel down south for a 4th of July. The vans presentation was horrible, we knew it was an very old model from just looking at it. The inside was no better, the carpeting was dingy and had a non refreshing odor. Upon taking a trip to Ace Rent-A-Car at the Newark, NJ location the representative over the phone seem very polite until we got there. We were also missed informed of the payment information, after I reserved the van online for $858 I payed upfront $1200 which the extra fee was supposed to serve as a deposit however I never received a refund. I've called several times and seems like now I can never reach anyone in charge, and I would never recommend or visit Ace-Rent-A-Car again!

Renting from ACE was the worst rental car experience I've ever had. I work in customer service myself and will pay more for a reputable car rental. I learned my lesson from these thieves. I truly did not care that I had to wait an hour and a half in line for help. It's to be expected at a discount rental car center. The rep lied to me and stated that I had to purchase their insurance, even though I told him I have full coverage with Geico. He lied again and stated I had to have it. It was an extra $240 for the week. He gave me a brand new car and told me to go outside to get it. I had locked in rates online at $170 for the week and when I checked out with the rep it was $450. I called customer service and they stated my insurance was acceptable and I didn't need their insurance. I went back in and went back to the rep and asked why he lied to me. When I told him I called in and that Ace customer service said he lied to me, he took off the insurance and downgraded me to a car that had air conditioning issues. Stay away from this place. Upon return, I accidentally left my SoulCycle bag in the trunk with a brand new sweatshirt. Ace says they haven't found it and I've called everyday for a week. I'm sure one of them are enjoying it. These people are thieves. You get what you pay for. Stay away from Ace.

Absolutely the WORST car rental experience EVER. I travel a lot and have never had a worse experience renting a car. I booked through Expedia. I arrived on time only to be told by a very hostile employee my reservation had been cancelled. When I told her I hadn’t received notification she said she didn’t have my telephone number. I didn’t believe her as the number was on the reservation confirmation. The only thing available was a 12-passenger van. I took the van only to see a mini van in the driveway. I assumed it was an employee vehicle and proceeded to the van. A man who arrived after me was able to rent the van. Why wasn’t it offered to me first. Anyway I take the car. When I returned the car the same hostile employee was there it was after hours but the open sign was lit. I wanted to make sure I received a credit because I returned the car a day early. Another woman was also there and wanted to speak to the staff. She yelled at us through the door to put the key in the drop box. When I yelled back that I wanted a credit she yelled I wouldn’t be billed. I got my luggage from the van and waited for my ride to airport. I noticed that she had opened the door for the other woman. Why not for me? The racism I suspected the day before was confirmed. She was willing to engage the non black customers and gave me nothing but attitude. This facility is off-airport property. I called to request a pickup from the airport. Voice mail hell and then call dropped. I had to take a Lyft to the pick up at a cost of $20. Horrible customer service. Very expensive. NEVER again

Have rented several times before with ACE with no problem. This time Sept 16-19, 2019 was different. Everyone was complaining about the cars not having gas dirty etc. Got my car was ok clean for the most part. On the third day had minor accident, got cut off by another car and hit the curb, popped the right front tire. You would think no problem, I’ll just change the tire and be on my way. Guess what no spare tire in the vehicle. I paid for the roadside assistance so I tried to call. The numbers on the rental agreed were wrong. Only number I had was the reservation number, called them got transferred to the roadside assistance office and got auto answers no can take your call. After several attempts was finally able to leave a message. About 30 later I get a call back saying someone from the Las Vegas office will contact me. Three hours later still waiting for a call back. LVMPD comes on scene, I explain situation he tries to contact ACE for me and gets same run around. LVMPD helps me get the car off the road and in a parking lot. Go in person to office next morning show my rental papers, attendant seemed surprised no call me back to take care of the car. I told them where I left the car, got a new one. When I finally left had no problems checking out. Biggest frustration no spare tire and lack of road side assistance after paying for it. Not sure if I’ll be a returning customer again

The guy was so rude no experience at all ,he basically told us that if we didnt want mini van that we could go ,mind you it was at 10pm where you wont find any car at that time. We had the worst experience at Ace Rent A Car. We waited over an hour for the van to pick us up because of improper instructions where to wait to be picked up, the agent did not explain the gas refilling procedure so we returned the car full of gas when we picked it up it was almost empty. The facility was dingy and poorly lit in the evening. Understand they are moving to the new facility, hopefully they will replace the staff, all except the van driver.

I had to stand at the podium in the garage, there was no office or desk in the Atlanta rental garage for ACE, for over 10 mins waiting for someone to help me. Not sure why so many people gave this company bad reviews. Rented an economy car at Tampa International Airport. From booking, to checking out, to checking in, it was a pleasant experience for us. All staff that I encountered were professional and friendly. Car was a fairly new vehicle and fit our needs perfectly. Only drawback I found was the very high daily rental fee after one week. $90/day for a economy class vehicle was excessive. They were still cheaper that all the major car rental companies out there. Otherwise we were pleased with Ace and will probably use them again if the price is right.

To begin, the information states it's located at the airport. After a 14 hour day of driving we go to the airport to find out it's not at the airport. We call. They give us the address and tell us it closes at 6pm. It's 5:30pm. We get there. It closed at 4pm. We call and are told we can pick up on Saturday. We go first thing Saturday and the woman tells us it was cancelled and there are no notes and asks who we spoke to. It was a call service. We have no idea. We tell her our predicament and she rudely indicates there's nothing she can do. We ask for a manager. The manager isn't working. Who can we speak to to help us out? No one, she replied. So, after all of that, we end up with no vehicle. So, our experience? Worst customer service! Worst information! We will never rent from your company and we will discourage anyone else from doing the same!!

NO UNLIMITED MILEAGE! 3x INITIAL RENT PRICE ! All the sites (i.e. Expedia) show unlimited mileage for this business. However at their counter they notify you have 150 miles/day or 1050 week (For FL driver licence or god knows what else states). I was going to Miami so had to buy!! ADDITIONAL mileage package from them. Surprisingly, from Miami we decided to go to Key West, FL. Plans could get even more exciting, right? Well that is 320+ miles from Miami and back to Miami. Long story short because of Key West trip I ended up spending even my extra paid Mileage Package and paying 3x price from my initial rent price. You guys think you smarter than anyone? NEVER AGAIN. P.S. No, ACE, the contract details at least during my user experience I could only see AFTER booking confirmation but why WOULD I check it again if I ALREADY see unlimited mileage while booked? Well, Expedia case was created FYI. And so for 3 days priced $77 you offering me to buy unlimited package for $45 (greater than 1/2 of total price? LOL). You are gods of marketing. Good Luck. P.P.S. You do great job answering EACH 1* review (and that's a lot) and defending your fails. You'd better spend time and effort on greater customer service and business ethics rather than online exccuses.

This was the easiest and nicest rental I have ever dealt with. Landed at Tampa airport and called to be picked up they we're there within 10 minutes. Got the the office and said my name and paperwork was ready. I was in and out within 15 minutes. They staff was beyond helpful and super nice. Return was just as easy. I just rented a car in San Francisco for a day trip and ACE is the only car rental agency open on July 4th. They gave me a reduced rate lower than the 24 hour rate. Check in time was extremely slow, there were only 3 people ahead of us yet it took almost 45 minutes to check in. I've never had a worse experience renting a car, and I've rented them for business and personal use for more than 40 years. Let me tell you! I read all the reviews, stressed about this rental for weeks. I expected to get charged extra money, have the people be rude, the car be horrible and to wait in line for half the day. Let me tell you NONE of that happened. I took a lyft from the airport got there right after the shuttle did, so yes there were about 10 people in front of me and it took an hour BUT it was NOT this companies fault. People were trying to rent without their license, no proof of insurance, not wanting to pay a deposit, no speaking English, and sooo much more. The PROBLEM at ACE was the people renting and not being prepared. I got to the counter all paperwork ready to rock and roll and I was in a brand new less than 1000 miles on it minivan in about 6 minutes. No issues, no extra charges, NOTHING, the 2 people right in front of in line were still at the rental counter when I left because they too were not prepared. So DO EVERYONE a favor, read their polices and be prepared, then there’s no waiting in line! Thank you for the great experience

Florida has automated toll rolls that require a transponder. Ace doesn't give you one. Usually not a big deal since they would charge you by your liscence plate. But Ace will charge you $50 in admin fees for your tolls. So my $4.00 in tolls turned into $54.00. How about tell your customers from out of state how this works.

I reserved a car at Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson Airport. The car I received was in good repair and was clean. The counter personnel would not win an award for excellent customer service. The fell downstairs who give gave me my car was very nice and cheerful. I found it odd that there was nothing but a Podium and a lawn chair for this employee to work out of. I'm happy I didn't have any issues with the car because I don't believe that the front desk person would have been very friendly or very helpful and handling a situation.

WORST WORST WORST customer service EVER! I will NEVER rent from this company again, and I would like to warn anyone who is thinking about it! If I could give them negative rating, I would! Maybe that's not entirely fair. I did get the vehicle that I thought I was getting and it was clean. The people in the rental location were friendly, but if you need to talk to someone on the phone... expect to wait... and wait... and wait... and then when you do speak with someone, they're rude and not helpful AT ALL!! I was charged extra fees and they close early on Saturdays and Sundays (at noon) so if you haven't returned the vehicle by then, it's an extra day unless they "put a note into the computer", let's hope that you're cashier isn't lazy or preoccupied and forgets to put it in. Plus they make it out like they are at the airport, they are not unless you're talking about the old airport that isn't used for commercial flights anymore.

If you arrive at the airport, they are not located there, so they will send a Lyft for you, to which they have only one account. So if someone is on their way there, expect to wait for 20 minutes before they can call one for you, plus the time that it takes for the Lyft to get here. The car was nice and the pricing fair. However, if you’re late getting your reservation, even if it’s paid for, they will cancel the reservation and not refund your money. Also, the customer service at the front desk in the Atlanta airport was atrocious.

I saw this agency's poor online ratings but decided to take the risk to save 10 or 15 dollars. We had rented a standard size car (the size of a VW Jetta). When we arrived, it turned out there were no cars available and we were given a 15 PERSON VAN. It was late at night, so we were stuck with it and couldn't use another agency. There was no room in the back for a stroller or our luggage; we had to jam things over the rows of seats. We had to drive the 30 minutes there and back from the airport the next morning to trade. When we arrived at the rental counter, I asked to speak with the manager, Pete. I explained the situation and asked to be reimbursed for the day; I was still willing to pay for the rest of the week that we would be renting our car. Pete became very defensive: apparently, we were only guaranteed to have "a car," and we should be grateful that they gave us one. He then tried to convince me that the van had actually been an upgrade! The manager couldn't have handled the situation worse. He was so awful that we bailed on the replacement car, got the rest of our money back through Hotwire, and went with a reputable agency. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS AGENCY. SPEND THE EXTRA TEN DOLLARS.

I had purchased my car booking and insurance through economy booking. They told me with insurance I have to pay 192 dollars. I let them know I already have the insurance and showed the email. They said ok then I don’t need to take their insurance but when I looked at my card later after few days - they still charged me for insurance again. I will not recommend them. Super inconvenient.

ACE is not the actual rental company. ACE is a broker. AVR is the actual company that rents the vans. But how am i supposed to know this. In any case, with family visiting we double booked a van for the same day/time. Went to counter to pick up the van and asked the person to delete the other reservation and refund the money. She told us, that they (AVR) didn't make the reservation ACE the broker did, so I'll have to call ACE. Figured should be easy, so called, got transferred to customer service, which is a voice mail, where they ask you to leave a detailed message with a number of mandatory items, that should be included in your voice mail. I can't even remember how many things I was required to leave in my voicemail. I did leave them a voicemail and it's been 10 days and i still haven't received a call back. What I did do, as soon as i got of leaving them a voice mail was to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I'll let Citi handle these crooks if they won't call me back. Citi was very helpful. Buyer beware. Don't use brokers, use the actual rental company. AVR was helpful in addressing our concerns, giving us the van and even the online rate for an extra day. AVR was also very friendly and quick in and out.

I cannot speak for all ACE Rental Car Centers, but the one for Las Vegas airport is terrible for a few reasons: 1) There is no transparency when booking through a 3rd party ie. priceline or Travelocity. The wrong address is listed for ACE and it is not until you take the FIRST shuttle (Yes I said first shuttle) from the airport rental cars that they reveal there is another shuttle to ACE's actual location. 2) The second shuttle takes you to the final address that is almost 20 mins south of the airport and strip. This may not seem like a huge hassle just reading, but remember you still have to return the vehicle, which means you will have to repeat the shuttle process so that cuts more time from your trip by needing to return early so you don't miss your flight! 3) Once you arrive, the line goes out the door!!! It took literally an hour to finally receive my vehicle and there were many others highly upset with how much time from their vacation was wasted. *I landed at 2pm and because of ACE's long drawn out process, I did not check in to my hotel until close to 530pm. Moral of the story is, this goes beyond the phrase you get what you pay for. My due at pick up rate was $97 but of course once you get there they have to add taxes and other fees they failed to just include in your due at pick up total so it ended up costing a little over $120 at pick up. In the future, ill save an extra $100 for car rentals so I can keep the 4-5 hours of trip time I lost with ACE.

Nearly 2 and a half hours waiting! Be aware of these times if you have things booked when you land in Vegas. Very frustrating. We landed, got the shuttle to the car rental area to then get a further shuttle to ACE. Got there to a massive que out the door. Only 2 people working on labour day weekend which to me is crazy. The girls were obviously very stressed but also were not rushing and still trying to sell everything instead of getting everybody their cars quicker. So then we get to the front, pay and then get told to wait outside. Waited for somebody for 5-10mins to be told our car isn't ready and is currently getting cleaned!!! So eventuothe car comes round, one wheel had a severe buckle which looked unsafe, the front bumper underneath was hanging off and when I sat in the car had a really bad smell of smoke. So as a non smoke cannot deal with this smell and complained. Then had to wait for them to bring another car round. Why not just use this in the first place? Very poorly run and will never use or recommend.

The car given to me was one of the choices listed on the rental potentials and once seeing that I had 2 kids, car seats, double stroller and luggage, wasn't given the common sense option for the larger of the vehicles and plenty were on their lot. The vehicle (Nissan Rogue) was smaller than my full size car. This car company also still makes you search the car for defects and do the carbon copy thing of marking it down. I haven't had to do this in years with other companies. They also scrutinized my insurance and coverage by making me show them my policy and reviewing it (hopefully you have digital access or you'll be there longer, as I witnessed, while they call your insurnace) versus the other companies who take the policy number or insurer's name and move on. I have USAA and they do cover a rental. When you reach the counter they ask which insurance plan of theirs you'll be taking as if you must choose a policy versus other places that ask if you'll be needing to take their insurance to cover the car. I heard their quote for someone taking insurance and was floored! The options for tolls in Florida was absurd. You either pay $10 a day for unlimited use or pay as you go. There are many places on Florida's system that is plate pass only. Every other company has billed the card on file within 2 weeks after getting the tolls for the amount I actually used. I won't be using Ace again. I went with them thinking they were cheaper and it didn't pay off in the long run. To respond to Ace.....the larger vehicle was an option in the list of vehicles when I booked. I do have proof of that.

Signs to get to this place is confusing. Don't go downstairs first, the counter is on the main floor in the way back. I had to walk up and down to get the car. They wheel and deal. You can upgrade, just have confidence in dealing. I got the Rogue and it was a very nice compact SUV. I would say though, you get all these fees and taxes tacked on now that they are now part of the airport. About $150. Don't forget to fill your tank up right before you get there. That cost through them (like other rental places) is EXPENSIVE. Overall, it was a decent experience. It's not really their fault the way the airport set it up.

He texted ahead and Sierra was ready for us and worked hard to get to meet their competitors quote. We ended up with a nicer car in the end. This car rental is a scam! Make sure you carefully check your Orbitz e-confirmation on your set rate. Ace had my return time changed with Orbitz which added an entire day rate from the confirmed rate I received from Orbitz. When it was called to their attention, I got nothing but "this is the time I see on your reservation and therefore you got charged an extra day for it." When I took this further with Orbitz, they confirmed my original booking was correct with departure time I chose originally I now see why all other car rental places had long lines to get cars and Ace had no customers but me!. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Very dissapointed, customer serrvice agent at the pick up area in Atlanta airport was so unprofessional. I had a family emergency and traveled fron NJ on a one way flight because I wasn't aware how long I was staying. When I did the reservation online there was no information in the rental conditions stating that in order for them to rent me a car I would need a round trip intinerary. When I got there to pick up my rental vehicle the customer service agent asked me for my return intinerary and I explained to her my situation. She told me that unless I had a round trip intinerary A big company like them would not rent me a car. I moved to the next desk which was Alamo, as far as I know Alamo is a big rental company, and I was able to rent a car from Alamo in less than 15 minutes.

The process of getting the rental car was uneventful, typical of waiting in line until it's your turn to connect with the rental agent. The car I rented was a great car, no problems. Car was clean, full of gas and ready at dispatch. They also provided shuttle services to the airport upon return. The price was within my budget as well so I have no complaints. I would recommend Ace rental car company to my family and friends.

I rent the cars in Poland very often. For number of years I have had very good working relationship with Enterprise. Recently I have used Ace at Warsaw airport . Initially I was hesitant due to the fact that my previous experience with Ace in Toronto was less than satisfactory. The service I have received from Ace at Warsaw airport, namely from Przemek, Jakub and entire team was great. Will use this company next time I need a car at this location. Firstly, I would like to point out, we DID get a nice, clean, working car. HOWEVER, the sign in service was ridiculously slow and painful. There is a shuttle that takes you from the airport to the rental station, and we waited for around 20 minutes for that van to arrive. We honestly didn't mind that- we paid very little anyway, what did we expect? It was WORSE. We waited in the less-than-clean office for half an hour while the staff worked at a snail's pace to sign some others in. When it was finally our turn, Clinton (one of the staff) informed us that we were getting a Jetta, because they didn't have what we purchased online. Fine, whatever. He went through and signed us in with no sense of urgency. The kid (we have a 3-year old) needs a booster seat. Do you have one? He asked. We said no, as we didn't think of that. He took out a cheap booster seat and set it on the counter. When he finally finished, he asked us to swipe our card. Why? We paid online. He said that the cheap booster seat was 10$ a DAY to rent. He did not inform us before. 80$ down the drain. He also said we needed to pay an additional 50$ for the "upgrade" in car type. That was their fault, why did we have to pay? We tried to ask if we could go buy a booster chair, get a different car. No, no, no. For that money, we could have and should have went to a different service. If you want to save money, book with a different service.

This was one of the worst experiences I have had renting a car. I rented through Travelocity and was not told that I could not rent a car for shorter than the time that was listed on my boarding pass. I was stuck in the airport for 2 hours trying to figure out how to come up with an additional $350 for a car rental on an economy car. By the time it was over I ended up paying almost $700 for a rental car that I only need for 2 days. I was told this was the policy by Ace, but just to be clear for people who are coming from out of town and don't know this policy, this is an atrocious policy. Why do I have to rent a car for five days when I only need it for 2. I was thoroughly disappointed.

Very happy with ACE! First time I went with an “off-airport” car rental place but they couldn’t of made it easier. Shuttle transport was fast, shuttle drivers pleasant, and staff were all helpful. Couldn’t beat the prices. Vehicle as described. Thank you! UPDATE: Over a month later ACE RENT A CAR, Tampa Fl. has started charging my credit card additional charges. No notification of the reason for these charges. I had to cancel my credit card to avoid additional fraudulent charges. Have tried to contact them (by phone) to find out why but I keep getting put on hold, transferred, disconnected. Spent over an hour trying to contact them but I've been unsuccessful. I paid all my tolls, filled the gas tank upon return, no damage to vehicle, no smoking in vehicle. There should be no reason for these charges--and a decent company should have notified me of additional charges. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!

I will rent again only as last resort & only if savings are substantial. On my return there was only one person checking in 10 people. I didn't know I needed to allow 1.5 hours just to drop off my rental car. Ho would think that in an industrialized nation. When I picked up my car it took over 45 minutes to drive off the lot once the van dropped me at the door. They actually forgot to bring my car until I reminded them. I was the first off the van, first in line to get a car, and the last of the group to get a car! Horrible processing times! They also play fast & lose with getting you up charges. One or 2 hours over & your not paying per hour, your paying another day & much higher pricing than your reserved rental rate. They must make a killing upcharing people. The only thing good about this rental was the 7eleven gas station a block away. Don't like area if your going there late at night. The young male shuttle driver is the only good thing going for this place cause he knows how 2 get you to airport quick.

Words fail me to describe how horrible my family's experience was with Ace. The car was horrible. Not only was the car out of date (2000 really??!!), but the tires were bald; one even had a hole in it. When I pointed the tires out to the service man, he swore up and down that the tires were new. Also, when we returned the car for a refund, the reps were rude and held $250 on my mother's account. Never rent from this company, YOU WILL REGRET IT. Please learn from my mistake and run fast as you can in the other direction.

My first time to Florida. I booked my rental threw Priceline a week prior to my arrival. Called Ace after booking threw the internet to confirm. Everything was good. When we arrived at airport we picked up our bags and headed right down to rental center. Apparently we were 20mins late to our schedule appointment. Which I had no idea we had a 2 hour window to make it to the desk. The repesnetive told me we rented your car and we are out cars to rent. She gladly said we can upgrade your vechial to a Grand Cherokee Jeep. Oh I was relieved until she told me it would be 59.99$ a day. I asked her if she would guarantee my old price which was 9.99$ per day. With out even blinking an eye she said no. There was nothing she could help me with. She was very rude. Un cooperative. Honestly didn't even care. Absolutely terrible experience.!! I would never advice to rent a car from Ace. Terrible customer service. Honestly would not even put a star on this but as you Know you have to, to be able to post.. Welcome to TAMPA FLORIDA AIRPORT!!

Beware - Do not risk the lower prices, etc. My rented vehicle had a mechanical issue and I was told I was on my own since I didn't have roadside assistance. I paid a mechanic to get the car started and returned to ACE for a replacement. I was told everything was rented and the only vehicle available was a tiny car instead of the SUV I had rented and paid for. After leaving the garage in the replacement car, I attempted to make a new reservation for an equal SUV - no problem, there were vehicles available. Terrible customer service/support and lied too in addition. I have filed a complaint with ACE but have heard nothing. I will be filing additional complaints with the Florida Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission and the BBB. Regarding the owner's response: I didn't ask specifically for a Rogue. Your response is simply a bunch of excuses and is not acceptable. Your attendant said -"there are no other vehicles available" except for the tiny car. I asked if there was anything bigger and was told no. I was lied to, and the reservation I made clearly demonstrates that. Additionally, you have offerered nothing to compensate the mechanics cost. The product and service I received is not acceptable. You are very quick to respond to negative reviews - perhaps you shouold focus some of that energy on providing better products and services. 02-12-19 Update: Thus far I have received a $23 credit towards the price difference of the car I rented versus the replacement they gave me. The response to my initial review said a member of management would contact me - of course, this never happened. Via email, I have stated that this credit is not acceptable. However, they have chosen not to respond. My complaints, including written documentation, will be forwarded to the FL Attorney General. This is not a good company and they choose to quickly respond to negative reviews rather than fix their problems.

Horrible, My flight was delayed. I was due in at 9:05p, we landed at 9:40p. By the time I made it to the train over to the car rental center it was 9:56p.When I got to the ACE ticket counter there was 2 employees there. They seemed to be preoccupied with something, so I waited patiently. A few minutes went pass and they got up with paperwork in hand and started walking towards the back. When I inquired with what was going on, one of them said we're closed and kept walking. Not once offering to help at all. One star is being generous.

Everything was great with the process when picking up/dropping off the vehicle while on our family vacation. However three months later we saw a charge for $53 on our credit card statement from Ace. We were very careful to pay all of our rolls. The person on the phone said they will email is the toll transactions but we have not received it. They said we probably missed tolls but we did not. They will keep on charging your card we will bring this manner up to our card company as fraud since we did not receive any evidence/transactions of us going through missed tolls.

The check out process is waaaaayyyyy too long. The employee working that evening was extremely rude, and when I called him on it, he claimed I was being rude and actually threatened to cancel the entire rental...after he had already charged the $150 dollar deposit. He continued to be rude for the rest of the transaction and informed that if I continued to ask questions he would simply cancel the rental. This is not how customer service should go...ever. I travel for business very regularly, and have never encountered this low level of service in the car rental industry. With so many options out there this part of the process should be the highlight of any company's M.O. I give three stars because the car was as advertised, even if the mileage restrictions and deposit for Florida residents was not, the return process was easy and my subsequent calls to ACE Corporate on the deposit issue were handled very professionally.

I reserved an ACE rental car on Travelocity for an unlimited mileage subcompact. Read the fine print beyond the stated "unlimited mileage" statement (there's no asterisk or caveat listed close to that line). That only works in the state of Georgia. If you cross the state line your mileage is limited to 150 miles a day. It's in the contract, but it's also misleading. Also the rental car agent in Atlanta who dealt with me was the most unpleasant customer service experience I've ever had. Go somewhere and pay a bit more for a pleasant experience without the surprises. They were the cheapest, for sure--but you get what you pay for I suppose. At least the car seemed decent as was fairly clean and ultimately (and fortunately!) I never reached my mileage cap. But I'm done with the cheapest choice. The man who worked in the garage where I picked up my car was really nice and apologetic about the woman at the desk. And he made me laugh which was exactly what I needed after dealing with the nasty woman inside the rental car center.

Horrible experience with this company. We arrived at the airport in Tampa on a busy Saturday morning, only to find one customer service representative working at the rental desk. After waiting over a half an hour, another representative finally showed up from his cigarette break. Once at the desk I was told that the only vehicle left in the category of midsized SUV, was a Nissan rogue sport. This is not a midsized SUV but a compact SUV. After going through the paperwork and turning down all the extra coverage they offer we were on our way to get our car. On our way to our vacation destination we noticed that we were charged an extra 200 dollars even though all extra coverage was turned down. Once at our vacation house I called customer service and explained that I did not want the coverage and did not sign for it. I was then told I was a liar and had to have signed for it but I could bring the car I. The next day and they would check it for damages then refund me for the rest of the week of extra collision coverage. So the first full day of my vacation I drove back to the airport, waited in line again for them redo my contract which could have been done through email or on the telephone. So yes it was horrible customer service and the vehicle I was giving had bald tires and was not what we requested. I will never rent from here again and would advise others not to either. .

This was a terrible experience. We waited 3/4of an hour and no shuttle. We called Priceline who referred us back to ACE. No response the first time only voicemail! Airport security told us to move down to #4 area for the shuttle when it came. We moved. When shuttle finally arrived people who were waiting where we were originally, got on and when we tried to explain we had been waiting longer, were told to go at the end of the line, so of course, there was no room for the 6 of us! Finally another minivan showed up and we couldn’t all fit so some got into a second van. We finally got to the rental place and waited behind a long line! An hour later we got our vehicle. If you’re smart you’ll go with another company!

ZERO STARS! You have to take 2 shuttles to get there. Once there you have to wait over an hour just to talk to someone-even if you have booked and prepaid online. The employees do not understand customer service and do not care at all. You have to pay double due to hidden fees. The car did not have a full tank of gas, it smelled and felt like it was going to fall apart. I wish I would have read reviews before booking. Do not make the same mistake I did.

Clean cars. Difficult shuttle process. Makes for a long wait to get to the airport. Staff is accommodating had to press issue of fees since I picked up my car earlier then planned. The people who work inside are great, Andy was very customer oriented. The car they provided was absolutely disgusting. It has scrathes all over, both bumpers were falling apart. I rented a minivan from them, they started the car and "turned on the heat for me" - only later did I figure out that this was a ploy to mask the bad smell in the high mileage car. Also, the rental process was a hassle with a mysterious extra deposit required. Finally, they also screwed up my return date and time. Never again!

Some of you on here need to learn what always occurs when you rent a car. You’ll ALWAYS have a security deposit put on hold on your card account. You’ll ALWAYS pay an up charge for using a debit card. There’s fine print on EVERY car rental agreement. If you go out of state and go over the allowable miles, you’re going to pay. If you don’t fill up the tank upon return, currently $7/gallon surcharge. For once, read the fine print. Then you’ll know. As for the bumper falling off and they renting a 15 year old vehicle, I doubt it. As for me, they were courteous, patient, thorough and specific. They gave me a 2018 Toyota Corolla to rent which had less than 7000 total miles. It’s 3 stars and not 4 or 5 because they’re smaller than the other companies and do not offer the choices. Other than that, I’m generally pleased for what ACE is, a small, lesser equipped, less expensive car rental company.

The lady when I first arrived was super friendly and nice!!! I will rent again. I didn’t give 5 stars because when I called to get direction, the man who answered the phone sounded very irraitated and when I tried to repeat the directions he kept cutting me off. Overall a good experience.

So they now do not want to not take cash but charge you 200 bucks as security deposit which wasn't mention no where when booking.. and they conveniently wouldn't accept cash starting that day. So the trade off was forcing you to basically take out 5 bucks a day more insurance which is completely unnecessary when you have full coverage. The car itself ran great zero issues . Did what we needed it to do. We will be taking the car back tomorrow hopefully we dont land anymore hidden chargers! We also had a long basically interview process for a simple transaction. Showing you have proof of coverage and full coverage should be all they needed..no they had to call and confirmed.. I've rented from several places and never had to wait and have interview process like this. Likely will not be using nor recommend this company anytime soon. Sorry....

The custom service was great!..The car was good but it had stains in the car seats especially in the back. The driver side mirror and passenger side mirror was filmed with spots that would not come out. It made it a little difficult to drive but for the most part its was good and served its purpose. The downside is there debit card policy. They charge $10.00 a day for using it and they hold double the amout of money on the debit card. (Ex..a rental total cost is $200.00 they will charge the card 400.00). So if ur not careful and just budget the right amout, u will overdraft your account.

APPALLED BY CUSTOMER SERVICE/EMPLOYEE MANNERS. Read further below.. Everyone knows to take pictures and videos when you're dropping off your rental, and as someone who's rented numerously times--of course I did when I dropped off the rental on 8/5/2018. I received a notification from my bank that there is an additional charge, I call and ask what the charges are for. I was told that I was missing a hub cap/wheel cover. I asked whom I can speak with to dispute this because I have a full 360 video of my car (with metadata to prove drop off time) showing absolutely no damage or missing hub cap/wheel cover. I was asked to call back after 6:00pm to speak with the individual who can assist in disputing. Sure. I call back at 6:00pm and got redirected to the individual to speak regarding disputes (Chuan, Shuan, Huan?). I give him my rental agreement #, and he lets me know that I was being charged for returning the rental with a missing hub cap. Again, I ask him to repeat and clarify and he states that I returned the rental WITH A MISSING HUB CAP. As I'm being told and clarified that I returned the rental without a hub cap, I'm watching my walk-around drop-off video of the rental, with ALL HUB CAPS IN TACT. The individual tells me that hub caps do fall off from hitting bumps, etc and that it's normal. I respond, okay, if its normal then why don't you guys pay for it? The individual responds by telling me that I exited the lot with all hub caps, and returned without one. The rental would not be given to me if it was missing a hub cap, so therefore I'm responsible. (By the way, I'm re-watching the my walk-around drop off video, showing all hub caps in-tact.) I ask the individual which to specify which tire is missing the hub cap because as I'm still rewatching my walk-around video, I still cannot locate the "missing" hub cap because THEY ARE ALL THERE. His response? "I don't have a crystal ball, I don't know which wheel". Wooooow. Who let you pick up the phones? How are you client-facing/client-communicating? If I'm being charged for something, I should be able to know exactly what and where I'm being charged. You want to charge me and then give me a snobby nonsensical answer? Okay.. you don't know which wheel. Then provide me the contact to figure out which wheel. Instead I was told that there is no crystal ball to figure out which wheel is missing the hub cap. At this point I just had to go off the childish response. The individual tells me that I will need to call tomorrow morning to speak with their service center. When I asked for his name, he tells me that I cannot have his name. At this point, there isn't a point in communicating with ACE. If this dispute experience sounded horrible, save yourself the trouble and just rent somewhere else. Yeah I know ACE is kinda cheaper but save yourself a crystal ball conversation. Needless to say, my crystal ball is telling me I am not paying for these charges, and I'm never renting from ACE ever again. If ACE gave out free rentals with free insurance, I would still not rent from ACE. If ACE paid me to rent their cars, I would still not rent from ACE.

ZERO STARS! This place should be shut down! Do not use them unless you want to stand in line and waste hours. It even looks like a joke & the most unprofessional place I have ever seen! I have rented cars lots of times so I know how it should work... I don't think they know how it is supposed to work. Had to take 2 shuttles to get there from the airport which took about 20 mins. Had to then wait in a line about 40 mins for a vehicle that had already been reserved & paid for. 20 more mins of paperwork & signing. 20 more mins then moving to yet another line to wait for a car. I asked what on earth could be taking this long... one gal told me they have no control on when people drop off cars. So I said, you don't even have cars here then? She explained they did, they just have to wash them. I told her I would take a dirty car just to get out of there please. She explained it was their policy to clean the cars. We continue to wait, no other choice because we're stuck. Finally a young lady said she could upgrade us to a minivan & we can have it now if we want! We'll take it!!!! Start driving just to get the hell out & it is the dirtiest most disgusting car ever. There is literally vomit in the back seat! We currently have a car w/ vomit in it! I'm not taking it back there because I'll never get out! This is the biggest joke I have ever seen! Like this is really a business?

The guy at the counter was not friendly, he kind of look like he was bother that some one show up to get a car so I was not able to rent a car because I’m from Florida and need it to have a bill with my name on it which I was not told when I made my reservation he took me next door to advantage rent a car to a very friendly lady I had to pay more but I will gladly do it again go to Advantage for you next rental car need I will.

The wait is utterly ridiculous for a rental car. There is no cool place to sit . The wait time is over an hour. Really?The line is out the door.. with only two people at the counter. Families with small children are hot and laying on the dirty floor. This indeed is low low budget rental. The policy to have a copy of you insurance is ridiculous. Stay away!

Took us a longer than an hour to go through the queue and around 30min to finish the paper work. The oversold us with their insurance, trough I had already an additional one through Allianz. The shuttle back drops you at the rental centre from where you need another shuttle. So if you are in a hurry don’t count on their shuttle. Other than that, the car was in good condition and their buying full tank at cheaper price was definitely a plus.

This place is a total rip off. DO NOT USE their services. It is a scam. They take advantage of people down on their luck. I had a temporary debit card from my bank while waiting on my new card to come in the mail. I didn't know that none of the rental services would help me. I paid $325 to rent a Toyota Corolla for 2 days. I was promised a refund on my card that never happened. This company is running a scam. They charged me for insurance on the car that didn't exist. They need to be stopped.

Not enough people at the counter to take care of customers in a timley manner. Someone asked to talk to the manager and she said it was busy because of the deals that were going on. She did nothing to put anybody else on the counter where there were two more. I think she should have jumped on herself and helped out. we waited over an hour to get to the counter and there were only six people in front of us. The wait for the shuttle from the other car rental at McCarran was almost 30 minutes. I don't think I'll ever use this place again.

I wish I could give zero stars. I'm going to try not to write a novel here, but what is happening to me is criminal. Literally. I'm being defrauded by this company. Long story short, rental was damaged during my rental period (3 small scratches on bumper). I'm responsible for the car, I have no problem with that. Only one person handles damaged incidents, and he works about 3 hours a day and only at night. After three days of trying to contact him, he tells me it will be a week for an estimate. THREE weeks later he calls me and asks how I'm prayin for the damage. I told him I saw no estimate and got no communication. He told me it was cost over $900 to fix the scratches. At this point I told him I would be going through my car insurance to settle this. He promptly hung up the phone on me. We are going on 4 weeks after that phone call, and 8 weeks after the initial incident and I still have no resolution. They will not take or return any calls from me, my insurance company, or my attorney. The kicker here is, they put a $1000 "hold" on my credit card until the matter was settled. But they are refusing to settle it .They are attempting to keep my $1000 by refusing to work with my insurance. I believe that is the definition of defrauding someone. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau, and I am preparing to file a lawsuit as we speak. This company will screw you any chance they get. I was like many of you when I rented from there, thinking people only left bad reviews over stupid stuff. I am telling you all, if the slightest thing goes wrong at ACE, they will screw you. I urge you all to rent somewhere else.

It took forever for us to even get to the counter due to the line and slow service. It took 2 hours to reach the counter then instead of giving us what we reserved they up sold us and still didnt give the correct sized vehicle for our rental. After complaining to someone else we got the right vehicle for our travel at the up sale rate. But had to wait after completing the rental had to wait almost another hour just to get the vehicle that had to be cleaned and washed. Once we got the vehicle it still had bottle water bottles left and the carpet wasn't vacuumed properly. It's a nice up to date vehicle at the least.

I scheduled a pick-up at 0900. Walked into an empty, pigsty of a smelly office with no one present. Waited over 20 minutes for someone to show up, who was dressed for the beach, not for work. Car was filthy, smelled of cigarette smoke (“No one has smoked in the car”), full of dents and scratches and with a drivers seat that doesn't sit up straight. And, gas tank on E with the empty light already lit. Unable to exchange for another, told “it’s the best we have.” Would never recommend. Now I hope to get my $350 deposit back in “7-10 business days.” Spend the extra in a reputable rental place.

Ace can have good rates. But a word of advice...some 3rd party travel sites don't tell you on their Terms and Agreements that you will be charged $8.5 per day if you use a debit card. Some people don't have credit cards so if you're one of them, this could affect you. For example, I made a reservation thru EasyRentCars and under the Terms and Agreement on their site, it only advised about the different refundable deposit amount for debit vs. credit cards - nothing about the fee exclusive to debit cards. In this case you would have to go direct to Ace's website and read their terms of Agreement. Not sure how many travelers would take that extra step. I'm not saying that's deceitful practice - just that you have to really do your due diligence to avoid unexpected fees/charges. It would be nice during your reservation process if all 3rd party travel reservation sites would take you directly to the T&A of the specifi rental agency that you select. Additionally, make sure that you fully understand the refueling options they tell you at the counter when you pick up your vehicle.

Their agent lied to me that my Californian personal liability insurance is not sufficient to drive a rental in Nevada and refused to rent one out until I bought additional coverage from them. Their cars are often dirty inside. Once a car I rented from them smelled tobacco like hell and sprays did not help. I felt myself sitting in an ashtray all the time. The location is not very convenient. If you do not know they provide a shuttle you may end up paying extra for taxi or Uber.

I rented a car at the ACE at Atlanta airport this month. I had a minor accident when a car sideswiped my car as I was stopped in a median waiting to go into traffic. When I arrived to drop off my car I missed my flight because they were taking pictures of the damage and completing a report. I had purchased car rental insurance when I reserved the car with Priceline. So, when I got home I completed the forms to have ACE be reimbursed. All the insurance carrier needs is a report about the accident from ACE. This is where my troubles have begun. When I contacted ACE, I was told by the repair department they will only deal with my automobile insurance, not the car rental insurance I purchased. They stated my insurance is primary, however, even the car rental insurance company is stating they are primary. The car rental carrier will only pay for damage to the rental car, which is fine because the other person car was not damaged and there were no medical expenses. I will not give ACE my automobile insurance info because I think they want to add some upcharges and collect more money. The car rental insurance has agreed to pay all they need is a record of the damages which are less than $1000 but ACE will not deal with them. Consumers buy the car rental insurance coverage so, they do not go thru their insurance. This whole thing seems very weird to me. The car rental insurance is willing to pay them but ACE won't send them a bill. I just do not trust them.

What a horrible experience. I flew into Tampa airport went to the Ace counter to get the minivan I reserved. I waited at the counter and finally someone came. Her name was Jassenia. You could tell she did not want to be there. The first thing out of her mouth was do you know our policies. I told her yes that I have rented from them before. She asked how I was paying I said with a major credit card and I gave her my drivers license. She told me that if I went over a certain mileage that they were going to charge me 49 cents each mile I went over and that I had to have her utility bill. I told her I have never once been asked for utility bill and why wasn’t I told when I reserved the car that if I went over a certain mileage that I would be charge 49 cents a mile. She just rolled her eyes at me and told me if I don’t have a utility bill she would not rent the car to me. Am I the only one who doesn’t carry utility bill with them when they’re traveling . Bad enough I couldn’t get a car but to experience such an obnoxious and rude person. I will never rent from Ace again. I walked into Enterprise rental and was greeted with a friendly staff. I rented from Enterprise and had a wonderful experience. The staff was kind and went out of their way for me after I explained what happened to me. Guess what, I didn’t have to give them a utility bill. They took my major credit card and my drivers license and I was out within 10 minutes. I also have unlimited mileage on the car. Thank you Enterprise and I got a mini van for cheaper.

Holy guacamole I would give less stars if I could. This place is a garbage hole SCAM. Seems like the unlimited mileage is just a bait-and-switch. We booked an economy car with unlimited mileage 2 weeks ago, got there this morning at 9 .. Didnt open until 930, and the car was not ready. It was filthy! Covered in road dust and scratches, inside was drenched with carpet powder that mixed with the cigarette smell and made me nauseous. There were cds, an sd card, candy wrappers, food crumbs, and more garbage all over the car. Before viewing the car they said we could only travel 100 miles so we called corporate to confirm unlimited mileage but the rep and employee just argued over the phone in front of me until she said they would give me 500 miles. My husband was inside and I was outside where the girls came out and started trash talking us in front of me! The car washers were all seemingly on drugs and smoking near my car and dog, then throwing their trash on the ground outside. Needless to say I said FORGET IT and I left without a car, went to enterprise for $30 more.. Worth it !!

I made a reservation for this car rental, they cancelled it and referee me to another company because my flight was delayed more than 2hours, they said I should have called. I have never heard of an airport rental company canceling your car if your few hour late. Learn lesson don't use this company. Plus the rental company they sent me to to price match fee was over $100 more.

I rented a great Hyundai Elantra from these guys and the experience was nothing short of fantastic. They picked me up at the Bozeman Airport on time, were very available to answer questions over the phone with NO WAITING OR CALL TRANSFERS!! They were wonderful, professional, friendly and courteous people. They were also considerable less $$ than the usual rent-a-car businesses. I highly recommend them with absolutely no reservations.

I just picked up a rental car in Vegas by someone who says their name was Jeremy. (African American guy with a pony tail and grey contacts) he stated he was the supervisor on duty. Without asking me for my insurance card, told me it was mandatory I take the liability insurance for $15 a day. I advised that I already had this coverage under my umbrella policy and my current plan 250/250. He informed me it was "state law" then changed it to "ace policy" after I made a big deal about it. I called ace customer service immediately after and was advised this was NOT true and that if you present your proof of liability you do not have to add this. I had my insurance card with me and was never given that option. I was told because I was not a Nevada resident, this fee was mandatory. I will be fighting to have this refunded and will take a 1/2 day of my vacation to return this car early and get another one elsewhere. Do not believe them if they tell you this is mandatory. Clearly they are comped to sell this.

Rented a car from Bozeman, Montana airport: Confusing & pulled over by Police due to car tag on rental car #1) On our paperwork for 'location' it had ACE, the address and "Shuttle service". After our flight landed at the airport we went to the car rental area and saw nothing about ACE Car rentals. We asked at another car rental counter and they informed us we had to call them. No phone number was listed on our paperwork. So after Googling the phone number, going through the national toll-free number we were then transferred to the local rental location. Another confusing/ unassuming factor was the local car rental name was Journey Rent-A-Car, which was NOT stated anywhere on my paperwork. I was beginning to wonder what we were getting ourselves into. An employee (Tom) answered, told us he'd be there in ~15 minutes to pick us up in the vehicle that would be ours and gave us the description of it, and where to meet him, which was all good. I would recommend the company 1) include the local phone number and the company's name (Journey) on renters paperwork they receive so they have all the info in one place and 2) have signage at the airport RE: ACE Rent A Car with their local phone number. #2) The vehicle state license plate was a paper/ temporary plate, which is fine however the plate was wrapped in 4 layers of plastic wrap, with condensation between the layers and only able to make out the wet paper tag when pressing out all the condensation, until it became hot and illegible again. While doing the walk-around the vehicle I specifically asked if the tag was acceptable since in our home state it certainly would NOT be!!! Tom assured me it was and "had never been a problem before". During the time we had the rental vehicle we were pulled over by a Police Officer for the vehicle tag not being visible. Fortunately the Officer didn't give us a ticket, however it wasted 45 minutes of our time while they ran my drivers license and the rental vehicle tag and registration. I was NOT happy especially since I addressed it specifically with Tom!! After this I inform Taylor: a Bozeman, MT ACE staff of this issue, he apologized and said "we have the permanent tags here and will put them on". That did nothing for me! I would recommend sticking with a larger company who hopefully would be more organized as well as follow state vehicle license plate laws. #3) After parking the vehicle in the airport parking lot and calling them to inform them where it was, as the printed directions said and as we were told to do. We then received 3 more phone calls from 2 separate Bozeman ACE employees, 1 being Taylor asking us where we parked the car. Obvious poor communication within the company.

I reserved a 7 passenger van, Nissan Quest or equivalent, for a family vacation. There were 6 adults and my 16 yr old niece and we were driving to PA to visit my 93 yr old WW 2 Marine veteran uncle for Veteran's day. Two days prior to our trip I called Ace to confirm my reservation. I was told the van was all set for our pick up date. I arrived at noon to pick up the van and was told there was not one available. I was floored. I had my family waiting to be picked up at my sister's house and my 16 yr old niece was getting picked up at her school. I was offered no reason why a van wasn't available and they offered a Dodge Journey instead. I looked at the vehicle which could barely hold 7 people providing there was no luggage involved. It was totally unacceptable for a 5 hour drive. I was basically told to take it or leave it as there was nothing else they could do. The woman at the desk offered no other help. I asked to speak to the manager but he was not in and the only phone number for him was his office number. I called the Ace customer service line listed on my confirmation sheet. I spoke with a Christine who basically gave me the same line. Sorry for your inconvenience but we are offering you an equivalent vehicle. NOT!! There is no equivalent between a Dodge Journey and a Nissan Quest when you are talking 7 people plus luggage for a 5 hour drive. Christine would not budge or offer any help other than take it or leave it. I elevated up to her manager who also gave me the same garbage corporate line ...sorry for your inconvenience...we are offering you a equivalent vehicle.... why isn't my van here as promised I asked......well it could have been in an accident or never returned....take it or leave it. I was basically hung up on with a family waiting and no viable options. While I was on the phone my wife was being helped by another person who at least tried to call other Ace locations for us. It was then that one of the counter people let slip that they had rented a van the night before. Nice...so much for accidents Mr. Corporate manager...so much for customer service. We had no choice but to scramble to find another van. Fortunately Enterprise Rent a Car had one which they held for us. They were wonderful and very affordable. Our trip was 2 1/2 hours delayed which put us going through NYC at rush our. Our 5 hour trip turned into a 9 1/2 hour trip getting us into our hotel well after 11 PM. Moral of this story....SAVE YOURSELF AGGRAVATION AND GRIEF AND RENT FROM A RELIABLE COMPANY LIKE ENTERPRISE. SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. NOT ACE!!!!!

Other than being reasonably priced and fast, the customer service from the whole team at the New Orleans office was OUTSTANDING. What a lovely group of people, thank you all! The worst customer service ever. Very rude employees in the garage where I picked up the car, also pease be ware of ACE Car Rentals deceptive pricing practices. My original reservation through Orbitz was quoted at $115. When I picked up my car it became $173. I would never rent with ACE!!! Respond to the owner comments below: So why those options were not provided when I made my reservation through Orbitz? Especially that Orbitz is advertising this as ultimates mileages, etc. Also, I had no choice but to sign the contract because I made plans already and couldn’t cancel them. How about the very rude employees of yours in the garage where I picked up the car, no comment about that?

Terrible experience. 3 People were all fighting and arguing in front of me, so I thought, "I have my insurance and credit card and driver license and reservation. That was not easy to provide on the spot.Then they told me I couldn't drive more than 150 miles a day even though my reservation said "unlimited miles". They also told me I couldn't leave the state. I made this reservation about 30 days prior, but now I was screwed because it was 4 days before Christmas , and the rates were sky high. I was hostage, so then they referred me to one of their partners. My rental was going to be $509 at this point. So....I decided to drive my own lease car. And that was my experience:-( Sorry, Ace. We won't be doing any more business together.

Made this reservation through a prepaid booking website because I had shipped my car out for a cross country move and needed a rental car for the last few days in Atlanta, and the airport locations were the only ones that had carseats. Got to the counter a woman coldly informed me that ACE could not rent to me because I had a GA drivers license and this location does not rent to locals. I had a flight leaving ATL ticketed matching the return date, but despite this, they refused my business because I didn't have an inbound flight. I got a refund from the booking website because they were not aware of this policy. Despite the claim that ACE makes their policy clear, if the booking website doesn't even know, it must not be as clearly stated as they believe. I don't recommend using this company.

Not overly satisfied. When I booked through my American Express card I was relieved to find competitive pricing across the board so I went with the small guy. I was on a long weekend in Florida for my families wedding. I dont often rent cars so maybe I'm naive but my reservation was 207. My bill ended up being 326 with insurance and sunpass. I was thinking ok whatever its a midsize car so my family can go 2 and from from the wedding comfortably. Looking at a Kia Soul in the description, what I ended up with was a roll down, no powered 90's nissan. Overall im a pretty laid back low key down to earth person as it did have 4 wheels an engine and air conditioning. But instead of feeling like I was on vacation, I felt like I was back in high school with my first hammy down vehicle. Disappointed overall. For 326 for 3 days i felt cheated without power windows and doors.

Edit: After my review, the GM, Mr. Anthony Wilhem contacted me to address my concern. He was professional, courteous, and helpful. He agreed with me that the clerk's behavior was inappropriate and not company policy. I take that to mean that it was a one off incident and hopefully the clerks will be better educated on how to sell insurance and/or upgrades in the future. As I didn't actually leave with a vehicle, I cannot give any more input as to the their fleet, but the fact that my money was refunded, no longer justifies a single star review. If you plan on renting there in the future, as their prices are significantly cheaper than the competition, I would be firm with your desires to purchase, or not purchase, additional insurance, and contact Mr. Wilhem should you have any concerns. Original Review: Had a similar experience as others. The man at the counter said that I must purchase their auto insurance. I presented proof of insurance, as well as notified him that the reservation was made with my business credit card that provides additional coverage. He said it was "state law" and must be purchased. When I questioned further and called him out on it, he changed his "story" and said it was company policy. Do not rent from this agency, this is a huge upsell scam. I recommend anyone that was forced to pay for this contact the Nevada Attorney General Consumer Fraud department and make a complaint like I am. I left there and went to Hertz, in and out in less than 5 minutes.

Rented a car from ACE a couple weeks ago and was helped by a lady named Francine. She was very sweet and took her time to help me. I didn't feel rushed or overcharged during my visit with her. She hooked me up with a great car for my trip and went over their company policies. Very informative! I left feeling very satisfied with my visit. HORRIBLE!!! I reserved a car for the weekend, and I picked up the vehicle on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 10:47am. The representative was unprofessional, and failed to explain the agreement thoroughly. (I want to make that very clear). The return time said 12:00pm on January 28, 2018. Now, being that I have rented from several REPUTABLE companies, I QUESTIONED the return time twice, because normally the return time is the EXACT same time as the pick up time, and usually other rental agencies give you a grace period, and/or charge an extra hour, if you are late. However, after I questioned the return time not once, but TWICE, the representative's response was, "ya 12:00 return time." I also asked her AGAIN, (for the third time), and she was very vague, and said "12:00 return time." She did NOT elaborate on anything, and was very rushed. When I got into the vehicle, it smelled horrible, (like smoke masked with some sort of cheap cleaner), and it had several scratches and dents on it. The lot attendant seemed irritated while I was inspecting the vehicle and was hesitant to notate all of the dents and scratches, but I made sure he noted all of them so I wouldn't be charged for them. On the day of the return, (remember, our contract said 12:00 return time), the weather was extremely horrible. It was raining, and there was a horrible car accident on the freeway, (which is unexpected, of course.) We are not familiar with the Atlanta area at all, and the airport is extremely overwhelming. At 11:17am, I called the Ace office and spoke to someone who was extremely rude, obnoxious, and short with me. I was trying to explain that we were not only stuck in traffic, but the rain was coming down hard, and we were lost! Mind you, the time is still before our return time. I explained that my GPS said our arrival time was 12:29, and the RUDE person said, "oh well, you'll be charged another day." I was extremely confused, and was trying to explain that my contract had a return time of 12:00, and normally there is a grace period, which allows for unexpected instances like these. His response was short, he was cutting me off, and wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise. He then proceeded to say that they had already given me an extra hour, and it was already charged in the agreement. At this point, not only am I frustrated with this person, and extremely confused, but I am still lost, stuck in traffic, and trying to drive in the pouring rain! I asked to speak to a supervisor, and he said, "I'm the owner, you won't get anywhere past me." Aside from that, he said that I should KNOW how to read the agreement, which completely baffled me, because not only did the representative fail to mention that, but this person wouldn't let me explain how misleading she was! How am I, (the consumer) supposed to automatically know (or assume) that I was already being charged for an extra hour?? Well, once we finally arrived at the airport to return the vehicle, it was 12:37pm, and we waited for a couple of minutes for the lot attendant to check the vehicle, inspect it, and turn in the keys. When he gave us our return slip, it was 12:47pm. (NOT EVEN A WHOLE HOUR LATE!) (Mind you, on my agreement, it states that the hourly rate PASSED my return time is $7.06), however, we weren't even an hour late, BUT, I would have agreed to pay for the extra hour, as it's only fair. Unfortunately, once I went up to the main office, to pick up my final agreement, the owner was there and he would NOT let me get a word in edgewise. He was UNBELIEVABLY RUDE and kept cutting me off. I asked him SEVERAL TIMES to explain the contract so I can SEE for myself where it states that I was already being charged the extra hour and where it states that I would be charged an entire extra day for being 37 minutes late, and he refused. Instead he kept cutting me off, and THREW the rental agreement at me and said, "I should READ it and I should have AUTOMATICALLY ASSUMED that I was going to be charged extra.' I'm in the middle of a dispute now, and I will NEVER rent from this place AGAIN!

Was contacted by an ace employee a week after and was asked about an insurance option. We opted to pay $80 for insurance. I SPECIFICALLY asked if there were anymore charges and was told no. It was a horrible and horrible experience with this company. I spent one hour at their airport office to deal with ridiculous procedure. My Florida driver license was discriminated. I was asked not only showing my driver license and insurance policy number, but also my water bill to verify the address on my driver license. The people at desk told me it was because Florida people steal cars. I tried to pull out the water bill through my phone, but the phone signal was bad at their office. They don't have Wi-Fi to help with it. It took forever to load the water bill on my phone. Then I have to call my insurance company to verify my insurance as well. The people at desk apologized for the inconvenience. He said he signed a nicer car than the one I reserved. Guess what, the "nicer car" was the worst one at airport. I feel I was discriminated. I hate this company, and will never ever use this company again. Bad review for this company everywhere.

This place tries to sneak in an extra insurance fee, playing it off as a requirement. When you ask for an explanation, turns out you can avoid the fee if you have personal car insurance, but you need to provide a copy of your insurance policy declaration page. THIS IS NOT STATED UPFRONT AND WILL SOMETIMES DOUBLE THE PRICE. Other major car rental companies do not require this. Worst experience renting a vehicle. Waited in line 2 hours to pick up our car after booking online. No changes made during the whole process. Once we recieved the car, it had no plates and a torn temporary tag. Then had to wait again for another car to be assigned. Amongst talking to others in line the process from walking in to their facility appears to be a minimum of 2-3hours wait time. That is not including the time spent from the shuttle service at the airport.

Do not read any 2stars and above reviews because they got lucky that they have some of good experience from this place. My personal experience was brutal. First, they said shuttle will be arrive every 10-15min but it turn out to be every 30-40 min. Second, when you arrived the rental counter was like a jail room fulfilled with unfriendly, rude and unprofessional staff. Third, after a long 3 hours wait they decide to continue with their unprofessional treatment and want to additional charge me for insurance ($15 per day). When I booked I read thoroughly they will not additional charge me anything or when they offer me insurance I have right to decline. But they continue to force me to pay $15 per day and said it part of the rental condition. Finally, this place might cheaper than other place but trust me don’t waste your time here. Pay a little more and get a better service that you should get.

The worst rental car experience ever. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. This is not an airport location. You take one shuttle to the airport rental car agencies and then this company picks you up in a van and drives you another 10-15 minutes to some shady parking lot.... they charge you insurance even if you have your own insurance, I would have walked out of I didn't pre pay and I should have. The deposit HOLD on my credit card was actually charged and i have to wait 7 business days to get that back. I got the car at 1/4 tank of gas and they didn't care.... such an embarrassing company, never again. Shame on you for being so misleading. Zero stars if I could. Oh and there was a massive roach at the rental desk and the employee was screaming and scared to take care of it.

The rental car industry standard 24 hour hold on a reservation wasn't upheld, instead I was given an excuse that Ace only has a 2 hour hold. I later found out that there was actually a shortage and they couldn't have supplied the rental anyways. The agent at the desk wasn't helpful at all with the issues, and refused to set up a new reservation with no explanation. I ended up going with a big name company who was also short so they gavee a free upgrade to a SUV, that's how your supposed to treat a customer!

Do NOT rent from here. You have to take the shuttle from airport to car rental place then wait another 15 min for another shuttle to take you to the middle of no where to Ace. Then wait in line forever to get someone. Then they say if you wave the extra insurance you have to fill out all this paperwork or just pay an extra $75 so since by then we were so tired we did. We got the tank option which was another $75 which seemed very high. Which we ended up using only half a tank ,not that that’s their fault. Then you wait in line to get the keys. Then when you get the car you have to wait in a car line to pull in the garage so they can take photos of the entire car. Then you can leave. This added at least an hour and a half to the car renting if we we just gone with a big name. And the we ons added another $150 ugh. When we dropped it off I ordered a Uber to take us to the airport to save time and hassle. Which was another $20. So didn’t save money and probably spent a bit more than I would have at a bigger name and spent more time and head ache.

I'm not sure why everyone's giving this place a bad review. I was in a car accident and a time crunch couldn't find place that will rent a vehicle to me with a debit card only. Luckily I found this place and saved my day. I was in and out of there fast and back to work ASAP. They let you rent with a debit card which is very convenient if you don't have a credit card. The guy that checked me out was very nice and helpful. I will be definitely renting from this place in the future

AVOID THIS PLACE! So we rented a van that was apparently at the airport through “ACE Rent a Car” and it ended up leading to this place, no street signs, this place has a horrible location. When we arrived the clerks were very rude( both of them) they gave us a van with a advertisement sticker attached to the rear bumper, I mean come on, we are paying for a service, not getting a complimentary van while we wait at the dealership for our oil change. Luckily we were able to exchange it, the vans are DIRTY, they have this arm pit odor, you have to inspect the vehicle yourself, so be prepared to spend at least 30-45 minutes just to get you on the road. If you can spend a little bit more, I would highly recommend all the major agencies. P.S. “ACE Rent A Car” are brokers, be prepared for the unexpected.

If I could give this review ZERO stars I would....First my husband and I rented a vehicle from this business and after we left the lot the vehicle was making a thumping noise coming from underneath...we turn around and returned the vehicle after waiting on hold for about 20 mins..... they put us in what we were told was their newest vehicle..we leave (mind you this is all Tuesday) we have the vehicle for part of Tuesday, all of Wednesday and to be returned on Thursday before noon ..come Thursday morning the tire pressure light comes on, so we take it in to Firestone and they inform us that the inside of the tire wall was plugged by someone and it was going to need a new tire being we only used roughly 100 miles out of 500 allotted miles I was very upset that I was having to deal with such an issue....Not only did they put my family in one but two dangerous vehicles and the vehicle i rented sat for my last rental hours after finding out the tire was not safe and they resolved it by giving me a $14 refund like $14 would subside the fact that my family could have been in an accident.Still needing a vehicle we asked if they could put us in another vehicle since it takes a few days for the deposit to refund so we can get another rental and despite what the website said they told us they had no vehicles available....I would not recommend this establishment to anyone who is looking for an honest rental company...

TERRIBLE CAR RENTAL PLACE. Do yourself a favor and go with any other car rental place in clear water. They took a 400 dollar security deposit, and towards the end of reservation, I spoke to an employee about keeping car for one extra day because our flight was cancelled. Everything was okay, then I checked my email on the way to the airport and i had an email threatening me with a warrant, for a 40 dollar 1 extra day charge after the car was already dropped off at their office. On Thursday my dad rented a car with them, he was going to New York. The car started doing weird sounds, so he went back and they only put it on the system so he wouldn't have to pay any fixing. They didn't change the car. When he was coming back from new York at 11pm the car turned off and didn't want to work. He got home at 1am. We had such a horrible experience with this place, honestly would never go here or recommend it! To begin with I made a reservation for a midsize SUV when we arrived they told us they were out even though we had made the reservation. On top of not being able to get the car we wanted we were charged an extra $50 for a smaller car. There’s no point of offering reservations if it’s not going to be kept by the business or at least given a warning that they would not have that car. Never renting from here again!

Very over priced I paid 750 for a rental car for a week. It was a last minute thing and I needed a car. I will never go to them again. And the lady kept pulling up the price on the car. She said 300 at first then some how went all the way up to 750. They will try to take everything you have.

We arrived at ace a tiny bit early and was greeted professionally, the only good thing you'll hear, which was good. We walked in to a disgusting room and a freakishly long line. It took us bout an hour to get to the front of the line. Online it said all together it would be $142, this is important, they said it would be $224 bc we needed insurance, which it was already completely covered by my insurance company. They refused to say that our insurance covered it, so we had to go outside leave her spot line and come back inside the building. Then we were greeted by another super long line, it took another hour to get to the front of the line. When they looked at it they acted Superdome like they didn't just say that we didn't have insurance. Then they said it would be $186, and remember it was supposed to be $142. So it's finally got her car and we just returned it today, in the bill on the credit card said that we paid $230. So I would suggest going with a different car rental because this place is unprofessional dirty and a scam.

If I could give zero stars I would. We went to pick up a rental car through ACE and they said because we are local they charge additional $$$ after we had already paid online. Dont use this company for renting a car. After you arrive at the rent a center, you have to take an additional bus just to get to the location, then you wait a long time in line only 1 or 2 agents available it takes a good hour to an hour an half to get through the whole lousy process

Would give 0 stars. We waited over an hour, told us they didn’t have the type of car we needed, gave us a car finally that hadn’t been cleaned (dirt on the outside and floor not vacuumed). Terrible customer service. Lots of fine print nonsense as well. Do NOT recommend anyone go here. It turns out being a rip off anyway.save yourself a massive headache.

Sketchy as they get. You have to take a shuttle to take a shuttle to get to this rinky dink rental shop. Very unclean, staff was very unprofessional and they overcharged us. I would never recommend. The inconvenience of renting and returning a car to this location was enough for me to never go back.

First of all we got our car at Las Vegas rental. But everything else the process, that goes with getting the car is just a horrendous experience. Took literally 45 min to get to the car rental place from airport changing two shuttles. Took another 60 minutes (not embellishing here) in the line with 3 other people in line ahead of me to sign and print the paperwork with two agents at the counter. Took another 15 to get the keys and another 15 for car inspection. Saving some extra bucks ain’t worth it for me. This puts you in a bad mood. I wanna say I’m a patient person but this place is depressing with unfriendly staff and the experience ruined my morning. Overall bad customer service. Don’t recommend this to anyone. Hope this helps someone

The stars are only for the price of the car and it’s availability. The rep that helped me was very pushy on me getting their insurance at $15/day. Basically pushing the fact that whether an accident is my fault or not, I have to pay the deductible, this is not true!!! I have my own insurance and my credit card (master card) will cover any expenses that occur in an accident. But you have to decline the rental company’s insurance completely. I have been the at fault driver in a rental car. I hit a trash can in the freeway, master card paid for everything in full (it’s outlined in the terms and conditions). Then she conveniently accidentally charged me for insurance after I repeatedly told her I declined any insurance. So I had to wait for her to cancel the reservation and redo it. The insurance is a scam and most likely if your renting a car you have a major credit card. Through master card or visa they will cover you up to $50,000 in a rental car. You can google the terms. I won’t rent here again I’ll just pay a little extra to rent from FOX they have a better variety of cars and customer service all around is better.

The car itself was great. The charges at the airport from the c/s rep were deplorable. Getting the car before drop off was acceptable. I was emailed that the charges were $117 by the time they were done with me I paid $232. I felt I was mislead about tolls in FL and they had me take out an insurance to avoid toll charges. Never again will I use ACE.

Customer service was non-existant. The man helping me was yelling at another customer while directing me to a car. The car had obviously been on an accident, bumper/fender loose with deep scratches. I told the man I would not take the car because of the damage and he was gruff and annoyed. His words were “it’s a rental car, it’s going to have some damage.’ I took a different car, not his choice, and marked almost the whole form showing all the scratches on the car. When we returned the car, the customer service was the same. Won’t go back, ever.

Terrible experience! Dont rent from here. Van was so old school. When we returned car both male employees were extremely rude! Yelling at me because my fuel was at 7/8th when we had just filled up. So disrespectful. Had 4 little ones, trying to unload car seats and they are yelling at me. So embarrassing and disrespectful to a female!

Not happy that a $150 deposit was sprung on me that wasn’t mentioned when I booked, and that it gets refunded a couple of days after you return the rental. Waiting in line to actually get the car, and the amount of time to sign paperwork was frustrating. The man helping me was hard for me to understand. Then once I got to the car I was told to walk around it and label on a diagram wherever I saw any dents or scratches etc, as well as commenting about the cleanliness of the interior. Took much longer than I expected. The only plus was that the men who helped me at pick up and return were nice. And returning the rental was quick and easy. Probably won’t rent from here again.

I rented a Kia Rio while i was in Atlanta. I come down regularly and rent cars from various companies. This time i am very unhappy. The car feels like it’s going to fall apart. It shakes on the highway, the key is about to break off of the beep beep, the seats are filthy and stained as well as the trunk. This is the crappiest car I’ve ever rented while on vacation and I’m not happy about that. I feel so unsafe in this vehicle. The car also has tons of scratches and dents and to top it off there is a crack in the windshield. So why is car on the road and able to be rented? The lady at the desk was very nice and I was able to pick up the car fast and easy, that’s the only positive thing I have to say about this time with the car.

Never again will I rent a car from here. Damage was done to the vehicle from highway debris. I don't understand how I should be held responsible. They tried to put a $1000 hold on my card until everything was handled so i told them to go through my insurance. Now, I check my account and I'm missing $500. They put a hold on my card two weeks after the incident without notifying me. This company will give you their insurance but when the damaged is done they'll inform you that damaged is not included in the insurance package. i never wrote a review for any establishment but I am highly upset. If you can't afford to give packages with full coverage on vehicles then you shouldn't be in business. Especially not in Atlanta !!!

Firstly this location is NOT located at the IND international airport as described! Once shuttled 15 mins to the premise we were presented with a filthy van inside and outside. The van had food and room keys left from previous renter. We were delivered another van which was cleaner on the inside but still just as dirty on the outside. I do appreciate them delivering it to us so thank you. Then the bill came and we were charged the full amount including deposit even though my receipt emailed to me after drop off was about $160 less. I'm disputing this with my bank directly. I will not be using this place again.

I've rented from ACE several times when visiting Tampa and we have always had an excellent experience. I just booked an upcoming trip in a few weeks and feel confident I will have excellent pick-up and excellent return. I got a great price on a mini-van compared to the competitors. About 20 minutes from the airport. The shuttle took 30 minutes to get to us. All the other rental car companies are right their at the airport. Do yourself a favor and pay a few bucks more to save yourself an hour of travel.

reserved the special ratre that stated I would get a compact to a larger vehicle depending on whats available, the rep was giving me the smallest car there, then tried to up charge for a larger vehicle which was obviously available, he eventually gave me a corolla and acted like he was doing me a favor giving it for same rate. I had a flight at 915pm, returned vehicle at 650pm and the employee was not around to return car ,eventually he appeared and was complaining he was leaving at 7 and i was late, what rental company at an airport closes at 7pm, like there aren't any late flights. After getting to the terminal i got an email stating i was charged $48 for another day because i was late 2 hrs because agreement said return at 5pm. stay away this place nickel and dimes you.

You get what you pay for. First issue is it is not near the airport or near the car rental hub with all your name brands. You must take a shuttle to a shuttle to even get to the place. Next there cars are falling apparent. Ours had the sun visor ripped out and low tire pressure in the wheels, after waiting around for them to find another vehicle ( as two of the car had flat tires, one had a broken ac and another had the sun visor ripped out) we waited almost an hour and just took the car anyway. Definitely will not go with them again.

WARNING: NOT LOCATED AT THE AIRPORT! We arrived at the airport after flying from NY only to learn that this car rental company is NOT located at the airport. We took the shuttle from the airport to the car rental agencies. Then Ace told me that they would send an UBER or LYFT to come pick us up. We had a large party, hence the van rental, with a lot of luggage, and a child who required a car seat, which was to be picked up at Ace. I had to have the car seat transported to the car rental lot so we could install it in the Lyft, take the Lyft to Ace, then reinstall the carseat in the van rental. None of this is disclosed upon booking. Further, they tried to give us a beat up van. Only when I pointed out that the bumper was hanging off, did they offer to give me an "upgrade" aka a van with a bumper on it. I would avoid this company at all costs.

you need to do something about your rental lot in Tampa Fl..we had a car rented through E-Z rental and upon arriving in Tampa found out that E-Z was closed and Ace was honoring their rentals, when we gave the man our papers they would not let us have a car for the price on our paperwork. they wanted another 450 dollars at which point we just had them take us back to the airport...your employees there need a few lessons in customer service..will never rent a car from you again and i will let anyone i know not to rent from your company if the service is that bad

Please stay away from Ace at this location. Their over all poor rating is well deserved. I should have read the reviews before renting. I recently rented from the Atlanta location by booking directly on their web site. When I picked up the car the bill was for $10 more. I asked the deck agent why the increase, his response was sometimes taxes increase between booking and pickup. (I booked 2 days prior ... come on) He then turned around and walked away ! ! He treated me with total contempt and disrespect. After a considerable time on hold, the location manager said new tax increases did not made the web site, and agreed to honor the price at check out. Guess what ... they did not! Yeah, that's right ... they did not. Also, I needed to keep the car one additional day. Rather than extend my $25+/- daily rate, they doubled it to more than $50/day. Other rental companies have not done that to me. For the most part, the other car companies have a large booth to delineate the return location. ACE has a well hidden podium. The employee who received my car was dressed in street cloths with no identification and did not provide a return receipt upon my request. The thought crossed my mind while walking to the ticket counter if he were an actual employee or just someone boosting a car. I am handing him a $25,000 car ... shouldn't there be some sort of acknowledgement? The only good thing I'd offer is the car was in good working order, although it smelled a bit smokey. Big turn off. I've rented dozen of cars in the past and have never seen such unprofessional-ism. Stay away ... the aggravation, lying, questionable business practice and disrespect is not worth the couple bucks you might save.

This is the worst company to rent a car. All the employees are sooo rude, they behave as if they are doing a favor by letting u rent a car. The cars are old models and dirty from outside. You can’t make a difference between dirt marks and scratches when they hand you the car in the dark garage. The employee in the garage handed the car in the middle of the lane and asked me to move quickly because their was some one behind me, didn't even give me time to adjust my seat. Let's just say I have had better experiences at blacklisted shady establishments in Sicily... They refused to honor a reservation due to not being able to show them confirmed inbound AND outbound flight tickets (who has their outbound flight tickets 3 days prior?). The other issue is I fly standby so I don't even have a confirmed ticket till 30 min prior and no longer had mine with me at the counter. Turns out, they were running out of cars. If you're gonna squirm out of honoring a reservation, you should at least refund the money. But apparently that was too much to ask. Owner, Mr Shaw, screamed at me on the phone, rather than walking 20 ft out to the counter, when I followed counter attendants recommendation to call the ph# on my reservation to verify the refund. Mr Shaw insisted my money would be refunded first thing Monday, but that it couldn't be done on a Sunday due to processing business hours - it still hasn't been refunded 2 days later and now they are insisting I have to go through the booking website I used. Absolute awful experience, and borderline criminal behavior on their part. Very few options in the way of accountability to resolve the dispute, I can't believe ATL continues to let them operate on airport turf.

I arrived after taking two shuttles. The room was small and hot and the line was out the door. The service was very slow and the service representatives were on edge. Their attitude was flat. There were several customers that had comments as well as employees. It was very uncomfortable listening to this. So sorry I will never rent with Ace again.

We rented a car from this company before we read the reviews. On our way to pick up the car we saw the reviews and tried to cancel the car but was unable to. We told them at the office that we were worried that we would not get our deposit back and they assured us not to worry. Three days after returning the car they haven't returned our deposit and they charged us a second time. Overall this 5 day rental has costed us $922 dollars!! We tried calling with no answer. We are still waiting to get our money back. DON'T RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!

Take my advice and STAY AWAY from this place! We needed a last minute rental and through Expedia this place the least expensive. And for good reason. The car they gave us was a old run down Nissan Versa that literally was on its last leg. When we returned the car it was on a Monday at 4pm yet the office was closed. There’s a sign that instructs you to park it inside the garage and drop the keys through the office window. The worst part? Took over 4 weeks to get our deposit back and that was only after having my credit card company file a disputed. Trust me. Stay away.

I made an online reservation for a car, but when I arrived, there was a sign on the door saying that they had NO cars available due to a computer glitch. There was a guy hiding (yes, literally hiding) behind the desk, and only when I went around to knock on the side window where I could see him crouched behind the desk did he unlock the door to let me know that it wasn't his fault. He gave me a number to call, but the person on the other end just gave me the same feeble excuse. Due to the immediate need, I was unable to find a car at any of the other rental agencies at the airport, so I was forced to hire a cab to take me to a rental facility further away. Extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service, and will dissuade anyone who asks from trying their luck with this company.

This is the worst car rental place!! I rented a 2010 Kia tag number K25AKT. Before I even took off I made them aware of some issues with the car. Al the man there said no worries the car is fine..... I drove off and started to head to my destination. As I was driving down the road at 70 miles per hour the steering wheel start to shake and the light come on TPWA. I return the car and this piece of work charges me more than I signed for when I took the car. I have started the disputing process with my credit card.....but what a nightmare! I would highly recommend that NO ONE rents from this unethical organization!!!

I rented a car from this location on April 22nd . I read the reviews just before picking up the car and was really worried about the deposit. I told the workers at the office about the reviews and my concerns. They assured me that my deposit would be back within the weekend, and we could trust them. They even gave us a newer car and waived the unlimited miles fee. My boyfriend and I felt much better. Here we are a week after returning the car. They originally charged $300 for my deposit and it posted to my credit card. Today, they charged ANOTHER $300 to my credit card. I’m really shocked. $600 on top of the charges for the rental. No response from the office so far. I booked through Hotwire and created a case with them. I also contacted my credit card company. I would have waited longer to see the deposit go back on to my credit card, but now that I see it being charged twice I’m really concerned. All the reviews are true.

DO NOT let the cheap prices fool you. ACE LIMITS YOU TO THE AMOUNT OF MILES THAT YOU CAN DRIVE (WHICH I DID NOT KNOW) AND CHARGED ME EXTRA (OVER $100) FOR GOING OVER THE MILLAGE ALLOWANCE. They absolutely did not want to work with me at all and simply didn't care that the $100 fee cost them multiple thousands of dollars in future income since I travel to SLC for business and ski trips multiple times a year! I rent cars on a regular bases and have been doing so for over a decade now and to this day I had never seen a company that limits they're miles and charges $.25 for each mile that you go over your daily allowance. For those people who rent cars on a regular bases, you would understand the shock that I was in when at the time of drop off the ACE rep told me that he was going to charge me for going over the millage allowance. Let me be the first to say that yes it was stated in the contract that the miles are limited and yes I did overlook this, however in all the years that I've ever dealt with rental car companies I've never had to worry about millage issues and I thought a small shop would be more honorable than that. I was told "we do not negotiate the millage of the car" and that they will not refund me the extra charges. I even told them that I had another reservation for the same exact car and that I randomly saw this deal on my AMEX travel site and made a last minute reservation to try and see if I would like them (BIG MISTAKE). I fly in to SLC a couple of times a year and I always rent cars when I get there. I've been a loyal customer and hold gold and emerald statuses with Hertz, Avis and National. This time I had decided to try a small mom and pop shop to see if I would like them because I would prefer to support smaller shops. As all of these events unfolded I came to a realization that ACE at SLC might be a small privately owned shop (as they claim) however it operates exactly like the careless large corporations who will rather take every single penny from you and not try to accommodate the client in any way! In my past experiences with small shops and having worked at small companies before I got used to seeing smaller companies trying to do everything in their power to retain a client even if that means taking a small hit now in order to retain the client and make up for the loss in future business. In this case $100 cost them thousands of future annual income from me alone since my car reservations are on average of $600 when I'm visiting SLC. This is not what I had expected from them at all and I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. I will also make sure that no one from my company uses ACE since there are quite a few people at my company that travel to SLC for business as well.
