Terrific place if you want a nice quiet getaway with a great view of devil's river and the stars. We kayaked up river to a natural spring and to cool off in the 72 degree water. Definitely check that out if you go. It's a little work but well worth it! Bert & Cindy were great and the cabin was very clean.

Friendly atmosphere. Love it there. It is so relaxing. Deer roam freely and then there is the friendly goat, Amistad.

The owners are super friendly and the accommodations were excellent. Just bring your clothes and ladies bring your blow dryer. The view of the lake and the cliffs from atop the ridge is absolutely beautiful. Oh… and the sunsets! Sooooo beautiful. You won't be disappointed.

We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed the homey and clean cabins and beautiful view of Lake Amistad. The owners are very friendly and accomodating. They are renovating and updating the place currently. But even as is, my mom in law said it is the nicest fishing lodge she has ever been to.

We spent the past 4 nights at this amazing place with our 3 grandsons. The whole experience was amazing! The property is big & spread out with lots of room to roam around. One grandson loves to bike so he loved going up & down the paths. We were able to tie our boat up on the cove so always had easy access. Our boys are 17, 12, & 8. Each one loved their experience & didn't want to leave. My husband also had the time of his life fishing in the beautiful Devil's River with his grandsons! Our dinners for 2 nights were supplied by their catches & we brought home another nights dinner. Our cabin, #7, was perfect for us. 2 bedrooms....one with a king sized bed, the other with double bunk beds. One bathroom, complete w/washer & dryer!! Stocked kitchen...but if you need anything extra, just walk over to the owner's & they will fix you up. A very comfie living area to hang out. Outside is a great front patio with beautiful views of the river. This cabin was CLEAN & homey!! The owners, Bert & Cindy, are truly the perfect host & hostess. They were so sweet to our boys, even fixed our grandsons flat bike tire. Their pet goat, Amistad, entertained us immensely! They are a couple that easily become friends. They love people enjoying their property. This family will be back....no doubt!!!

Wife and I spent 3 nights in one of their cabins. Weather was perfect, stars at night were bright. View of the river was great. But the host, Cindy and Bert, were the best. Very accommodating, interesting and obviously love the place and are putting their heart and soul in making it great.

As a frequent traveler I always search for that place with a wow effect. Searching on google maps, reading travel magazines and books, searching for reviews etc. When we booked the lodge, via email, we didn't know what to expect. But the lodge at Sanders Point is such a place with a wow effect. I never wrote a review about the places I visit. But for The lodge at Sanders Point I make an exception, I promised Bert and Cindy to write a review about our stay at Sanders Point. (even if its 4 month after our stay) The lodge at Sanders point is located nearby the Devils river. The river can be reached by a trail over the rocks, the water is clean, fresh and a nice temperature for swimming, at least in August, fishing and boating . The lodge is surrounded by the nature of the Texas dessert. Where wildlife runs free over the area and in the evening the dark sky is enlightened by a lightning flash, without the sound of a thunderbolt. The cabins are being renovated. Even the cabins which aren't renovated yet are comfortable including 2 bedrooms, Airco, washing machine, oven, BBQ, TV . For the visitors planning to visit Sanders Lodge don't forget your motor boat or Jetski. The rivers are amazing in this area. Bert and Cindy thanks for your hospitality at Sanders Point. ( the kids are willing to come back). You made us feel at home and also thank "Cindy 2" she is an amazing person. Thanks for the unforgettable holidays at Sanders Point. Although we live in Europe I hope we can return to your place

My husband and I will never stay anywhere else. Our cabin was so enjoyable, clean and the surroundings were absolutely heavenly. Beautiful view of the lake and big king size bed that was so comfortable. Washer and Dryer in the cabin was unexpected and so nice to have. Everything worked and even had our own Weber to grill on. Bert and Cindy run a top notch place and are delightful. Can't wait until we can go again!
