I did not have a chance to use the rental that we reserved due to Hurricane Dorian. Charleston and the surrounding counties had a mandatory evacuation. We had some issues that were totally my fault, yet they listened to my reasoning and gave me 110% satisfaction, even though I was totally in the wrong on the oversight on my behalf. I will be back to Kiawah and I will rent from Akers Ellis. I highly recommend them as they were very accommodating even when they did not have to be.

I wanted to express my pleasure with our stay at the Kiawah Island Vacation Rental at Turtle Point. What a beautiful home with an outstanding view of the ocean and the golf course. We stayed for 10 days and I've never had a more relaxing time on vacation. I look forward to future visits in the area and will definitely use Akers Ellis Real Estate properties again. Great vacation!

340 Low Oak Woods Drive Kiawah Island Our family of 14 spent last week at this home. The home needs a makeover badly. It is dirty, inside and out. The first night the outdoor grill caught on fire from the tremendous amount of grease buildup. The grates were filthy. My husband put out the fire and we finished cooking the steaks in the microwave. After a few hours of arrival we all had brownish feet from the dirty floors.Housekeeping came the next day and cleaned the floors and the property manager cleaned the grill. We paid $75 a day to have the pool ‘s hot tub heated. After 3 days we had no heat in the hot tub. After smelling something that didn’t smell safe we called the real estate company and found out it was a low propane tank that was causing the cold water and bad smell. It took 3 days to finally get that resolved. We were reembursed for the 3 days without a heated whirlpool. That didn’t make a difference for 6 grandkids who were having a blast in it when the weather was cold and sometimes rainy. One night the smell was so intense we called the fire department so that we could go to sleep without fear of the house catching on fire. Our grandkids found 2 pairs of underwear near the whirlpool. Yuck!!! We had a limited number of towels left for us and had to get more from Ellis Akers. The refrigerator has broken and missing shelves. The downstairs floors are marble which was dangerous for the kids when coming in from the pool with wet feet. We were always on guard making sure they didn’t slip.The HVAC vents are molded. It is hard to see the mold because the ceilings are very high. Ellis Akers took care of almost all of our troubles. They should recommend that the owners replace carpets, rugs, clean floors, paint the inside ,remove the mildew, etc. before renting this home again.

A perfect quiet get-away. Great beach, great location. We loved it. Kiawah Island Vacation Rental provided a no hassle solution for our last minute booking. We'll definitely do it again.

Simply Akers Ellis missed too many details for a hospitality company to justify and we found it unacceptable to get a credit for one night when we moved out of the house a day earlier because the 4 previous days of non working a/c and lack of hot water. It is not reasonable to blame the last guests for your lack of attention. I wrote this note to your company. ”Dear Dalton, Thank you for sending out your service crew. They made an effort to blow off the porch and check on the water heater. The problems we encountered were issues that could not be fixed after the fact. As I told you on the message we left. Dirty wet cushions and porches that had not been cleaned off. Dirt and bugs in the upstairs bedrooms. The a/c was not functioning upstairs, an error message remained, 79/80 at night is not comfortable to sleep. There were not screens on any of the windows. Regarding the showers and baths, unacceptable to all of us, there was only enough hot water for one person to take a shower in the morning, we made an effort to find water heater which was 40 gallons and turn the heat up but still not enough capacity to fill a bathtub. There were chipped plates, 6 of them and not acceptable for a nice dinner that we had catered when we got there on Thursday night. Also a broken toilet seat in the master bath. I’m sure that we can work something out as a credit back to us. I called twice, this is the third communication that I have made and have not been called back by a manager to discuss...” Dalton did call back today, Wednesday after we left Monday, he was certain all of these things could be fixed, we left the house a day earlier and stayed elsewhere. This was not a good experience, if you value customer service that is top notch and attention to detail.

Rented a condo at Kiawah 5 months ahead of time and no mention was ever made of a $106 "service fee" just for, well, nothing as far as I could tell. Without reading carefully, I initialed everything and sent it back, which is my fault BUT I would have thought something would have been said about a "fee" during the price breakdown discussion on the phone that same day. It was small writing embedded in the paperwork. And, I had to write a second e-mail and make a phone call to get the refund after waiting nearly 2 weeks. Yes, other rental agencies charge a fee but it is nominal ($27 at the company we usually use and $0 when renting through Kiawah directly). We will not be coming back to Akers Ellis to rent or buy anything - ever!

Not sure why there are not more recent postings regarding rental experiences...tried to review on Trip Advisor but couldn't find this vacation rental agency. We just returned from a 4 night 5 day trip to Kiawah. We were 4 women golfers and found Akers Ellis to be an excellent resource for locating the perfect rental. Our home was clean both inside and out, reasonably priced, exactly what we'd requested and better than the pictures we viewed before signing. The staff, in oarticular Amanda, was professional and friendly, returned emails promptly and staged a welcoming and inviting reception upon entering the home well after dinnertime on the night of our arrival. Will definitely be our go to realtor for future visits to the island.

Had a wonderful time at our Kiawah Island Vacation Rental of 4316 Windswept, only issue was that the villa was so comfortable my kids didn't want to leave to come down to the beach! We have been coming to Kiawah for 27 years and this is clearly one of the best units we've ever rented. Highly recommended.

The rental team for Kiawah Island was very easy to work with. The check in process was seamless and loved not having to check in at an office to pick up a key. My concerns during our stay for the home we rented (which was in need of updating) were addressed immediately and we even had items dropped off the same day on Mother's Day none the less. Was very impressed with their ability to get things done within a day. I would definitely rent from them again on any return to beautiful Kiawah Island.

Akers Ellis is a top-notch real estate firm. we used them for our Kiawah Island vacation rental and had a wonderful experience. First of all, their description of the property we rented was accurate. When it said "steps to the beach", it was very close. We've rented places before where the description stretched the reality too much. Not so with Akers Ellis. The rental process was completed on-line and was very easy. The unit itself was beautiful, well-appointed and spotless. We will rent with them again and recommend them if you want to book a great Kiawah Island vacation.
