As a home buyer, I loved Redfin for research and sharing with my partner. But now I'm selling my home for sale by owner, and I am deeply disappointed in this confused business' approach to folks like me. As a business leader myself, I understand the conflict of interest in terms of their own business model as a cut-rate brokerage, but I follow this rule in all my company's endeavors and I urge you to consider doing the same: The better you treat every single segment of your customer base, the more good you will do for the world and the more money you'll make for your employees and stockholders. Because remember: I'm a home seller now, but I'll be a home buyer again soon enough. And I'm also a friend, fiancé, daughter, sister, and extremely well-connected technology executive. And given your handling of my FSBO listing (I can't even edit it one little bit, add open houses, etc.), I'll be using and recommending Zillow in the future. (Note I have nothing against this specific location of Redfin--this review is for the corporate headquarters, which sadly Google does not give me the option to review.)

Had used redfin 5 years ago with great results. However when purchasing a home this winter, found the agent assigned to us, Seth, to be the worst experience in 32 years of home purchasing. We were forced to hire legal representation in order to protect our earnest money and compel the agency (redfin) to contractually complete their requirements as a buyer's agent. After the close, finding multiple items not completed as were required in contract we were told by redfin that it was not their fault, even though Brian Thomas refused to allow us into property to inspect repairs pre-closing, nor could or would they assist in rectifying the contractually obligated repairs. There are a few good agents at Redfin, but we can never again recommend or encourage anyone else to use Redfin again. We went with another agency to sell our existing home and found the process painless, smooth, and both sellers and buyers satisfied.

If you're not willing to do a lot of work on your own with limited info online, Redfin may not be the best choice for you. But if you're not a first-time home buyer or if you're willing to do more work, Redfin is very convenient and useful. If you use a traditional realtor who gets commission by selling a home, though, Redfin is still really good resource. Its User Interface as well as the web design are super easy to navigate. I believe that you'll be assigned your main realtor when you go to a house tour for the first time, and the booking a house tour is fast and easy and is accompanied by an area realtor (maybe house tour personnel?) We really liked its convenience and we loved our main realtor Alex. She told us that because Redfin agents gets salary, we don't have to feel obligated to buy a house or feel sorry for tons of house tour. But again, if you're the first-time home buyer, you may want to work with a good traditional realtor. It's really based on your personal preference. I don't think Redfin itself is bad like other reviews are saying.

Redfin is the only real estate website that allows you to select the # of floors, whether or not you want to pay an association fee and allows you to pick a price range for an HOA. It also allows you to check off "single story" or homes with a "view." RedFin is above and beyond better than any other real estate website and I've tried them all! The only issue I find w/ Redfin, is that its not available for Northern Arizona and some other small towns.

Redfin will not help you unless you are buying or selling an expensive property. They will let you know that you aren't worth their time.

Went in at 2:10 on a Friday, no one at front desk. Waited at the front desk for LITERALLY 20 MINUTES with no service. People in the back were taking personal calls and chit chatting with each other. Why have a front desk if there's no one at it? Was looking forward to using them to look for a house, but never going back.
