I've worked with Keystone Real Estate for the past twenty-eight years. Susan and Gary, the original owners, believed in and defended the rights of tenants equally with the rights of property owners. Susan's sons, Steve and Phil carry on that core philosophy. As a property owner, I'm confident in recommending their very responsive service.

Rented with Keystone for almost two years. Only left because I bought a house. It was a very good experience. They were always quick to respond to any needs. When I had to adjust my moving dates, it was never a problem. Steve and Phil were very helpful.

As a property owner, Keystone does a great job managing my rentals. Steve and Phil go way over and beyond and help with little things for my tenants. I would not hesitate to refer them to anyone. Thanks Guys!!!!

This company is run by real people and not some conglomerate. They have treated me and my family very well over the past 5 years.

We took excellent care of the unit, and did everything we could to be the best tenants as we possibly could. In the end, Keystone Reality did not fix anything that was broken, we went without screens in our windows, the cleaning people didn't clean the unit before we moved in and I had to clean much of it myself. However, the Reality company is attempting to charge us for things that we aren't legally obliged to pay for, and holding our the remainder of our security deposit suggesting we come and help clean/ patch nail holes in the unit to "save money", which is illegal. The receptionist in the office is rude and negligent, and even though we moved out as quickly as we could, I had a crew of people cleaning the unit before we left, witnesses that the unit was clean, and still, Keystone Real Estate and the manager Steve Nielsen has done everything they could to hold as much of the remainder of our security deposit as possible. Also, the people moving into our unit already live above in a smaller unit, which means it's most likely that the unit is already being occupied, however Keystone Reality is telling us that the unit isn't cleaned yet, so they won't give us our deposit back. I have absolutely no problem with them using our security deposit to prepare the unit for the upcoming tenants, but in all honesty, I left the unit in better condition than it was when we moved in. I would never, ever rent from Keystone Reality again.

Relatively affordable apartments in a high rent area. Really friendly and reasonable staff and family friendly apartments.

I've rented from Keystone for 3+ years and watched tenants leave, rent elsewhere, then come back. The apartment managers are probably the best I've ever had in a 16 year history of renting. I never once had a problem with anyone from their front office when I applied, either. Too bad for the negative reviewers they got denied, you're missing out. ;p

There's multiple reasons to avoid this company, both as a potential renter, and as a property owner looking for rental management. First, the receptionist Kay lacks customer service skills. She seemed annoyed when I would call to check on the status of our application and was unfriendly overall. The owner, Susan, isn't much better, suggesting I was bugging her when I called twice in the same day with questions about the property! If I was a property owner, these people ARE NOT who I would want representing me for my rental property. Second, when we put in our application for a beautiful piece of country property, I was told we would have an answer on our rental application "shortly," and it took them TWO weeks - I put in the application on Wednesday. I called on Friday, they said Monday or Tuesday. I called Wednesday, they said by the end of the week. I called Friday, they said Monday or Tuesday. Kay seemed annoyed every time I called to check on our application. Third, their rental criteria is overly stringent. They told me they couldn't accept my wife's handwritten paycheck stubs (she works for her parents small business) until I explained it was an actual incorporated business and they just do their own payroll. We also rented from our parents for 15 of the last 16 years, and we were told renting from relatives isn't an acceptable reference (Keystone didn't even call to talk to them). After two weeks, when I finally managed to reach the owner of Keystone, (Susan), She told me we were denied, because there were three things on the application screening she didn't like. However, two of the three reasons she gave us were NOT actual reasons for denial listed on the criteria form. She said we needed TWO rental references, but the form only stated "current and previous rental history for the past five years." She also claimed we were borderline on income, but the criteria states "2.3 to 3.0 times the monthly rental amount," and our income was 2.7 times the rent. The last thing was she said there was something on my wife's credit report that looked bad, but would not tell us what it was. From the property owner standpoint, we talked extensively to the owner of the property and she told us she thought we were a good fit and wanted us in there (we even helped her with some cleanup of the property because we thought we were getting it). However, Keystone did a very poor job advertising her property. They NEVER listed her property on their website (like their website says it does for vacant units they manage), and they only created one Craigslist ad (with just a couple exterior pictures) that expired and they never renewed it. The owner had to create her OWN Craigslist ad with a good description, which was the ad we found and called on. In summary, if you're looking to rent, and Keystone is managing it, I suggest looking for a different home unless you like being overly scrutinized and treated poorly. If you own property, DO NOT have Keystone manage it or try to get it rented for you, in my opinion they don't work very hard to get a place rented and they're not who I would want representing my property.

We have been tenants with this company for many years now, and one of the main reasons we are still renting from them is because of how nice, kind understanding and prompt they are with fixing things. Also, when they took over for the previous company, years after, the whole apartment complex looked much better after they planted foliage and kept it up much better than the previous company. Thank You.

The family at Keystone has been managing my property for 10+ years. They have been fair, honest, and a great advocate for me and for tenants as well. For personalized service from people you can trust, I would recommend them highly.

I am a current renter, and have rented from Keystone Real Estate at 2 different sites over the past 9 years. They have been amazing. Almost every time something has broken or needed repairs they have managed to get someone out to my place within the hour to a at most a day. Kay at the front desk has always been a pleasure to deal with. Susan and Gary were the owners when I started rented from them and they were always fantastic, now Steve has the reigns and he is doing a fantastic job. I highly recommend Keystone Real Estate.

The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because they actually did come out to fix things when I called them. Other than that it was a very unimpressive experience living in their rental for 2.5 years. Their receptionist is very rude. Every time you call she sounds annoyed that she has to talk to you, no matter the issue. When we moved out we left the place cleaner than it was when we moved in. I was a housekeeper for a living, I know how to clean properly. I would even say that I over-did it since I cleaned stuff that obviously hadn't been cleaned before we moved in. They kept more than half of our security deposit anyways for things that we aren't even responsible for. Like patching and painting over cracks and that were obviously caused by foundation issues or the holes from putting up pictures. I looked into all the laws about what things I'm responsible for and what they are and tried calling them to talk about the things I knew I wasn't responsible for. Steve either wasn't there or was rude when I actually did talk to him. And he never actually followed through with anything he told me he would do. Like send me copies of receipts and pictures. I will not rent from them again in the future, nor do I recommend them to anyone else.

So i rented from keystone back in 2008 and its was an amazing experience. I left on bad turms by falts of my own i was young and stupid. I cam back and apologised and made things right years later and now i am a current renter and will be for many years. They treat me like family and i will always be grateful.

I was struggling to find a place to live . After being denyed every place I paid to apply give for, I showed up at keystone desperate for help upon arrival I was greeted by a very friendly staff they treated me like family from the moment I walked in the door never have I been treated with such respect at any of the previous places I applied for . A man named steave took the time to hear my sistuation and he did everything in his power to land me in a beautiful place witch I currently reside and plan to stay. I would recommend anyone looking for a place to call home to stop by and talk to the extremely friendly staff at keystone.

Keystone is a great company to rent from. They believe everyone deserve a second chance. They helped us nine years ago and now are giving my sister and her boyfriend a place to call home. I can't express enough how awesome Steve and Phil are.

They have been nothing but rude to us. They want us to fix the place up (which we have no problem doing) but refuse to do their part when it comes to fixing what is their responsibilities. Took them 3 weeks to come in and fix some very important things. Kay is over the top and should really learn some customer service skills. There's nothing more irritating than them treating us like garbage. We pay our rent on time and have no issues what so ever.
