Property rental for 690 East 22nd Ave. Eugene Oregon Where do I begin?!! From the moment we walked into this place after paying Campus Connection 1st/last/cleaning deposit it all went downhill. The place was not cleaned thoroughly (although I am sure the previous owners paid for it and then some!) Kitchen window would not open, both bedrooms had 2 sets of windows improperly installed. New ones were installed on the interior side of the older original window, none of them opened properly. Fire danger to say the least, and because of this lack of ventilation, it promoted mold throughout the apartment. Dryer vent was filled with clothes lint. Bathroom window was falling apart, fan in the bathroom did nothing to help ventilate. The apartment was constantly wet and filled with condensation. My daughter and her roommate were sick throughout the year because of the mold in the apartment. When we called about the bathroom window, they sent out some hack who did a terrible, amateurish job on the window, which I am sure is not up to code, much like the rest of the apartment. The unit next door has a washing machine in the backyard with an extension cord leading to it, cover by fiberglass. Upon leaving the apartment, we were hit with a $479 cleaning invoice claiming it would take 13.50 hours to clean this tiny 700 square foot apartment even though it was thoroughly cleaned upon leaving the apartment. This is a business clearly trying to take advantage of first-time renting, college kids. How these units are even available to rent is beyond me

Worst experience ever. Very unprofessional, took them months to respond to matinance requests. House was misrepresented when we toured it, when we moved it there was mud/dirt all over floors, big holes in bathrom drywall. The cleaning people spent literally 30 min on the house between tenants (we know this because they came after we were supposed to move in) house did not even have a toilet in bathroom when we moved in (was installed later that night). Overall, 100% not worth it. We were treated like children from the very first day and honestly I have never felt so taken advantage of and disrespected professionally. I have absolutely nothing good to say about them. Would give 0 stars if I could.

They are overzealous about showing apartments! I've been racked with numerous inspections and walk throughs since I've been here and I'm barely half way through my lease....they could careless about how you feel about it! Constantly have people that I don't know walking through my place. These people are shady to say the least.

How much do you really like that house? Having been a college/grad student for the last 8 year, I have interacted with many property management companies. Some were better than others, but nothing comes close to how mind-blowingly unprofessional Campus Connection was. To be fair it isn’t even the whole company that is awful. The issues really just revolve around the manager Charlie. Unfortunately, if you rent from Campus Connection there is a very good chance at some point you will have to interact with Charlie. Many of the rental properties are older houses, and in older houses occasionally things need to be repaired i.e. furnace, a/c, garage door. These problems will have to go through Charlie before maintenance. As much as I would like to use this review to vent on every one of the unbelievably rude and unpleasant interactions I had to endure with Charlie, I won’t waste time. All I will do is encourage potential renters to visit the Campus Connection office before signing a lease. Make sure while you’re there you meet Charlie. When you talk to her remember, she will be the person in charge if you have any issues, plus will be in control of your lease and deposits. Hopefully you are a good enough judge of character not to make the same mistake by I made signing with Campus Connection. – former tenant 1609 E. 24th Ave.

I have rented through the worst (*cough* bell realty...) and wow did they make me appreciate charlie and CCPM! firstly almost all of their properties accept animals and charlie is so friendly and really does want to help you. Every time I had a maintenance issue i'd be surprised if i didnt get a response within the day and even get my problem fixed that day. if i had found them as a freshman i wouldve used them all 3 years, sad i only got 1

As a property owner I am very happy with the service that Charlie and JIm provide to us and to our tenants. Communication is excellent and they treat tenants well. It is a competitive environment and treating customers well is a key aspect of a successful plan. They have to treat the property owners AND the tenants (usually students) with respect and they do. We have had property issues but they are addressed quickly and to the satisfaction of both parties. I'd highly recommend them.

Campus connection is extremely loyal to their tenants and they are always quick to respond to questions and make necessary repairs. While other property management companies in Eugene are mismanaged and only care about getting a buck out of students, Campus Connection cares about providing affordable and fair housing for college students.

Edit: Campus connection worked with me to make things right. They did have issues with people previously in charge of maintenance requests, but they have new employees working to make things better. Sarah was very helpful when my lease ended and made an exception so that I could get my pet deposit back even though my roommate was staying after the year was up. Campus connections quickly took care of things in the beginning: our security deposit, signatures, pet deposits. Once we moved in and our pipes had issues, we needed to call many times to get a fix. You will need to leave a message and be very persistent with them. Plumbers came to the house and commented on the poor state of the pipes. They are making improvements here, so this very well may be better and more organized now.

I was approved to rent a house but being out of state, requested additional information before signing the lease. There's no video tour and they couldn't tell me square footage or sketch out a floor plan. As I patiently waited for anything more, they called my elderly mother - listed as an EMERGENCY contact - to demand the deposit. Possibly they don't understand what an emergency is. Thanks for wasting my time and taking my application fee. Now they won't return my calls and that house is still available. I wonder if the owner knows how things went down?

Great company, let us paint our walls, installed heaters in our single pane window house, and didn't take more than necessary from our deposit. Everything was completely reasonable plus cookies when you bring rent in on the first of the month.

I have rented through three different property management companies on the UO Campus: Bell Realty, Von Klein Property Management, and Campus Connection. Campus Connection was by far the best out of those three. They were extremely prompt when I had problems and needed something fixed in my house, they had excellent communication throughout any problems that I had, and the staff were friendly and always available for any questions. Not to mention that the apartment I rented was close to campus, big, clean, and affordable. We also got almost 100% of our security deposit back even though we had a pet. Awesome service, friendly staff and my property was awesome.

I have rented houses and apartments through Campus Connections for 3 out of my 5 years at the University of Oregon. I have had a great experience working with them over the years. Charlie, the Manager at Campus Connections has always been helpful, responsive and punctual during our interactions. Maintenance requests that I had made were always handles quickly. Even in the situation of a housing emergency (no fault of Campus Connections) where the water line on our washing machine broke and flooded the floor, Charlie was immediate and responsive with helping and fixing the issue. Currently I have been in a tricky and unfortunate situation with my housing, in that my current lease (through another company) was ending and I needed another location on short notice and only for a short term rent as I am leaving the city for work soon. What I have learned is it incredibly hard to find a housing company that will work with you, and help you out in these real life situations. I emailed, called, and went into every major housing company in Eugene, and none of them were willing to help. However, Charlie and Campus Connections were the only company totally willing to work with me in my specific situation, and find me a place to live. To sum my experience up with Campus Connections, they have been great. Anything I have needed or any issues that I have had, they have worked with me to solve. I highly recommend renting through Campus Connections. They are trustworthy, easy to deal with, and always there for their clients.

Snakes! We lived in an old barn house for 13 months. Never late on payments they would mess up our utilities bills. But make us pay difference. We wanted to go to month to month after a year they said yes did a walk threw told us the stove will be replaced when we move and a few other things. We get our deposit back after we moved. Under 100$ of 1200$. They said the stove needed to be fixed and the toilet handle was broken. Not true on the toilet and we scrubbed the stove. Better then when we moved in. Also there was 5 adults cleaning the house until dark scrubbed it top to bottom there we not any carpets but we mopped all Flores dusted patched holes. Fixed paint and they still said it took them 17 hours to patch holes and clean house I know they lied it was cleaner then when we moved in. Also took them over 31 days to give us our deposit

He is the best person we could have asked for to be there for us when weather conditions were less than ideal.

Overall, they were negligent when it came to maintenance requests, and deducted a ludicrous amount of money off of our deposit for unnecessary cleaning. They were extremely slow to respond to two separate maintenance requests. The first time, it took them over a week to get a repair man out to our house to fix a broken heating rod in our oven. The second time, our sink drain had become clogged and was overflowing into the dishwasher, which eventually spilled out onto the kitchen floor. It took numerous calls throughout the morning and into the early afternoon for them to finally answer the phone, upon which they told us we had to file a request online and then they would look at it. We did not receive a single update from them until a repairman finally showed up at approximately 6pm. We maintained a very clean house all year, and one of their female employees who stopped by to show the house to future renters said that "this was the cleanest house of college boys she had ever seen". Despite these two things, and the numerous hours that we spent cleaning before moving out, we still received an unexpected deduction of over $700 off of our deposit for 17.5 hours of alleged cleaning services (similar to the charge that a previous reviewer received). I highly recommend that one does not rent from Campus Connections. However, if you have no other choice of rental company, HIRE YOUR OWN CLEANING CREW. Hiring maids to clean your house before moving out will only cost you about $100, and will still end up saving you hundreds of dollars. Don't forget to take pictures of every room of your empty house before you leave so you have proof that the house is clean and can contest any of their inevitable fraudulent charges.

The house I lived in was terrible. There needed to be more than a few renovations done, I felt as though the house could calapse at any certain point. One of the support beams wasn’t even connected to the ground! Plus the entire time we lived there they tried blaming many of the problems on us.

Horrible company- mold, broken bathroom tub knobs, broken light in kitchen, single pane molded windows. Nothing fixed until the last 2 weeks of occupancy.(after 3 years of renting) Campus connection broke the lease then made repairs during the time last 10 days when tenants were trying to move out. OTHER COMPANIES IN EUGENE - don't use this one!

Great company and great people. Charlie is an excellent manager of the properties. Whenever I had issues at the house I would write what was wrong and usually in the same day someone was calling me about fixing the issue. They have a great assortment of houses, especially on the west side of campus. My yellow house is amazing and offers so many amenities that many other rental companies don't. Plus on the 1st and 2nd of each month they have delicious cookies and treats for getting your rent in on time and run a drawing for 30$ worth of track town pizza. I highly recommend Campus Connection PM.

There’s not enough good I can say about the team at Campus Connection. I’m an out of state investor and bought my property near campus almost 2 years ago. I’ve had Campus Connection manage my property since day 1 and it was the best decision I’ve made. It was my first property out of state and I was very stressed out about not being able to put the attention I normally would on a local property. I heard about Campus Connection through my cousin, who was going to UofO and found his apartment through their site. As soon as I found a property, I contracted them and it’s been smooth sailing since. They will cater their management style to your comfort level. I told them I couldn’t afford to worry about the property so they do everything from collect rent, to market the place, be a point of contact for the tenants, give recommendations on how to make my property more attractive to future tenants, and so much more. I’ve never had to worry about my cash flow. Even when their have been issues with tenants, I wouldn’t even notice, because they’re so good at turning the place over quickly. I’ve already recommended them to several of my friends who are in the market and will continue to use them for my future properties.

Makes their money scalping college kids for all they have by blaming the tenant for maintenance issues that they constantly ignore. The day I moved in there was black mold growing in my apartment that hadn’t been taken care of nor even mentioned while I was moving in, despite the company having weeks to clean the apartment. I was forced to rent a hotel room while the mold was cleaned, and was not given a prorated rent for the time that I could not stay in my room. Save yourself thousands of dollars and the biggest headache in the world by avoiding this company like the plague.

Despite having two drains cleared without charge, I was charged AFTER moving out for my third drain cleaning a few weeks earlier. When I called to inquire, representatives were extremely dismissive. The property manager, Anton, lied to me over the phone in an attempt to get me to stop inquiring, claiming that the first charges were removed as a courtesy and said he was looking at records of those charges on my billing account. After checking and realizing that such records did not exist, I called back and Anton admitted the mistake, yet refused any form of remediation. My impression is that this company will take advantage of customers whenever they feel that they can. I would not recommend doing business with them and especially would avoid any properties managed by Anton Fraga.

When my roommates and I first moved into one of their properties, we were told there was no lawn care available. We explained we couldn't afford the equipment to maintain the landscape and ten months later they attempted to charge us $200+ for lawn care that was suddenly available for $50/mo. It was ridiculous. On top of only having one of several maintenance requests answered (we placed them within the first month, only one came six-ish months later). I don't recommend them for anything. Parents, students, etc; Don't bother. They'll rent you a literally broken home and charge you out the ass for it.

Although I did not have problems with them as a tennent, I lived in a very rundown property where the daily saying was, “What’s going to break today.” We had all 3 of the doors (front, side and back) break once during the lease (front and back broke twice) and we were charged for that. Doesn’t seem like 5 different broken doorknobs in one year could be our fault... We also had maintaince requests go for MONTHS before they were completed. Bottom line, this is not a company you want to rent from (or rent for your kids), go with stewardship or another rental company that carries themselves with more class.

This is by far the best property management company in Eugene. This will be the third year that I've gone through them and not only are they some of the nicest people but they keep they're houses up to date. Any time there has been a problem or something that needed to be fixed they have gotten back to me that same day and have gotten someone out there to fix it by the next day. When the power went out for a week last year they did everything they could to make sure we still had livable conditions. On top of that they have very affordable housing. Can not recommend a better company.
