I can’t express strongly enough how important it is to stay away from this organization. I can only describe our dealings with them as lacking any semblance of integrity. I highly encourage everyone to not rent from them, purchase from them, or engage them to manage a property.

Jake Burnheart

I can’t leave a 1 because I have no reason to. I can’t leave anything higher then a 2, because I also have no reason to. It’s not terrible, but it’s not good either, they’re just looking to make a living like everyone else, they don’t care about their clients, they also don’t care about your living conditions, it’s a business, and you’re going to get treated like a dollar bill.

The worst place to ever rent a home, the first year was ok,the second, and third years were just disgusting,it first started when we had a plumbing problem it took them 6 months to come and fix anything, then after that the house had another plumbing problem in the laundry room,THE ENTIRE HOUSE WAS FLOODED FOR 3WKS!It took them 3wks to come SEE the problem!!!!then they dug up the kitchen and left it like that for 3months and on top of that we have a infant child that could have died, then they dug up the front and back yard, broke the pipe so we would pay more money to fix a problem they made, then this yr our house got flooded on February,it took us 2wks to dry all the carpet that was flooded, the boss came to our house but never did anything, then just yesterday our entire house got flooded, every single room in the house got water, and when we tried to rent the house from the beginning they lied and said that there was no natural gas piping,so they put electric cooking place, with all these problems we have been calling everyday but the voice-mail is all ways full bcuz so many people are calling bcuz there bad,plz plz plz don't work with these awfully people, they just want ur money and are very ignorant.doesnt Evan deserves a one star.

After being a homeless veteran for a total of 10 months at the time..This Company and owner Earlene Brown refused to make any repairs to the property located at 2313 NE 23rd Street Oklahoma City, OK 73111 after I moved in. I had no where else to go and so I lived there for a whole year in inhumane living conditions 2015-2016! The home is an older home built in the 1940s and was in need of major plumbing and electrical repairs as well as many others etc.. Then Mrs. Earlene Brown began to attempt to terminate my lease agreement several times from move in until the lease agreement was up, even after being told in person by housing authority that the lease will not end before one year contract was up. She began to harass me thereafter with 15 days notices etc. I have all of these forms yet still and complaint letter. When seeking resolve, I put all the repairs/maintenance requests in writing with suggestions.

I write this review not even sure where to begin to warn unsuspecting renters NOT to utilize this property company. Their staff is less than willing to assist in maintenance problems as my roommate and I would submit maintenance requests online and not hear from the property manager for another two weeks. The air conditioning in our unit did not work throughout the whole summer even though we reported problems starting in June. One night in July it got to 97 degrees in the unit and we had to call the emergency maintenance line 12 times before he picked up. He came over an hour later and hosed off the outdoor unit and said he would come back the following day and we never heard from him again. They changed the lock on the front door without telling one of us and after I had to physically go to their offices to get a new key. They only gave me one new key, however, even though both of our names were on the lease and we both received copies of the key upon moving in. Their communication was lacking as in order to give up our lease after its 12 month expiration, one person told us we both needed to be there to sign for non-renewal so I rushed to get to the other side of town after I got off work only to learn that only one of us needed to be there. While I thought I was done with the Brown Group after I moved out (we signed the non-lease renewal, and I cleaned and left my key in the apartment) I woke up on the first of the following month to find they had charged me rent. I called them to demand my refund and they acted like it was my fault for not canceling my online payments on their portal (even though they did not charge my roommate and it was only supposed to deduct 12 payments from the date of the signing of the lease). To top it all off, they did not inform me that they mailed my refund instead of placing it back in my account. But they did not mail it to me... they mailed it to my roommate's new address. I informed them that they never communicated that they intended to mail the check nor did they send the money to the right tenant. There was no apology.

Got approved for a house to rent and was supposed to meet earlene Mon morning and she was not there.. But they wanted to take my deposit on a house that I haven't seen the inside in or did they know when it was going to ready.. So later on that day I called back to speak to earlene and I was accused of being rude. Which never happened I filed a complaint with the bbb to get my application fee back. But just tasteless customer service I thank God that he blocked this for me... this was Feb 2015 But still praising God for blocking this bad decision I was gonna make with them.

The worst place I’ve ever rented from!!!! They terminated my lease after the rent was paid for the whole month and I was forced to move with my 2 children without giving me a fair amount of time to find us another place to stay now we’re going to be hotel to hotel until we find another home and I also have school aged children and switching schools is also a hassle in the middle of the year.. these people will charge you for anything just to get money from you they are crooks The staff is VERY RUDE I wouldn’t recommend

Toby and Earlene CARE ABOUT THE WELL-BEING OF THEIR TENANTS! I can't express any clearer how they pay attention to detail! Just honest hardworking people thats running an amazing company! I highly reccomend them to anyone that has the desire to own a home and have it rehabbed with quality and a step above workmanship! Thanks again for all you've done for me as a client and as a person!

This company is one of the worst companies to ever deal with. I have lived nationwide and internationally and this company sucks. They can’t fix things on time, they over-rate their rent, there voicemail is all always full so you can’t get an answer, lazy employees cuz they gave they take off early all the time, etc. I have asked to meet the manager multiple times but this person seems way too busy to have a meeting. Do not rent from this company!!! It’s Danger.

Boss Lady

If you are looking for an honest option go with my review. Please save yourself from falling in there trap. Some of the people that are on these reviews that went elsewhere are so lucky to not deal with the Brown group. I should have went with my first experience to avoid 2 years of a headache, stress, sleepless night, and hopelessness. The very first time I contacted Brown Group about a home. I was told I have to fill out & application & pay before I could even view property (hint #1). Paid did application called to report that I did application and paid. I was then told the application has to be approved before I could view property. I never heard of this so I asked for a manager I talked with Mrs. Brown who was a bully and was ready for a fight you could tell that she talks down to people in a professional was (like you are less than). She was useless so I then talked to a Tony who was awesome way to skilled to work for a company that treat tenants bad reputation. As a matter of fact he is the only one still with them. They have a high turn over normally that because the upper management sucks. Long story short I moved in they didn't tell me refrigerator was not included sent me a letter in mail threating to come and pick it up it was not new handles where broken of. House was infested with mice and rats, when I called about mice they told me I needed to pay to have a professional come out. They are MONEY hungry they requested with OKC finance housing agency to increase my rent 2 times in 1 yr without my consent. This is the hood and the people in neighborhood pay $300.00 less than me. The maintenance is awesome since they got rid of Mike or I heard he quit. Maintenance may not speak English but he understands you and fixes things quick. I know the good ones and who to ask for that's good. They also have a maintenance line another good change that gets 5 stars. The ladies at this office are mostly new and give a bunch of lip service. You will end up talking to either Tony, Desiree, or Ms. Brown notice I have not mentioned Mr. Brown I will get to him,, Tony you can yell cuss and be mad he will not get out of character with you he will ask you what he can do that you both agree on to fix it (however he is not good at calling you back) Desiree very nice met her in person offers you juice, pop, or water does not treat you like you less then. Ms. Brown forget it she is there to look pretty and to be the office bully to tenants I don't even deal with her I already no what I'm dealing with. Now to Mr. Brown the only way I can describe him is a arrogant-narcissist. I was very surprised because the main reason I chose Browngroup was because I went to Putnam City high school with him. He had himself involved in everything at school and I was aware of his academic's. However I do believe money changes people I saw him in person at there office I'm sure he didn't no who I was. I was an under classman in high school. He didn't smile he didn't introduce him self he looked at me and asked me something about what someone was doing on side of building. I looked at him and I said I have no idea he then said to me well they could have picked a better place. I said excuse me what are you talking about he said they are reliving themselves on side of building and they could of picked a better place and walked away. I looked at the girl at counter who was writing my receipt which btw is not there anymore and she just made a face like she has no idea and said maybe if they let people use the restroom they would not have to go on side of building. The only thing I will say if you don't have a thick skin and know how to handle people like them please don't do business with Brown group they are rude, money hungry, no customer service. I just give you fair warning if you get into a lease with Brown group,,, You be like me sitting in a house trying to sleep listening to mice and rats scratch and run across the floor while Toby and Earleane, and there kid are on a island at the beach enjoying the rent you paid. Run from this company!!

Called yesterday and spoke to a lady and Tony. Was told I could tour early today and to call 1st thing in the morning. Spoke to Miesha (?) This morning and was told that their schedule was full all day and i couldnt tour until 3:30. She was less then friendly and when i told her nevermind due to the inconveniance she didnt even try to retain my interest in the home. I will not be leasing/LTO with this company purely due to the managers attitude and her being unwilling to work in a tour to gain a tennant. I was very interested in the home and even secured the $3000+ down payment required for this specific home. I will be taking my money elsewhere. I am in property management my self and would never be and have never been so un-accomodating and rude to a prospective tennant in my 4 year career. Do not bother calling to appoligize or resolve the sitution as i will not answer your calls. I will say the original person helping me was very friendly but since the lady I spoke with this morning is the manager i am not interested.

Not a good experience. Rented a home with them for 5 years. The most rude, insensitive, went up on rent during the lease. My life got some much better after I got far away from those crooks. They will say anything to get you to sign another lease but never go through with anything. Slow to fix or don’t fix at all the biggest slumlords in OKC. The worst people to rent from OKC stay away from these crooks!!!!!!

I wish I could leave less than 1 star. It was an absolutely horrible experience. I lived in a house with my friend and her child, and we had plumbing problems for over 6 months. When the plumbers finally came out they told us that our sewage pipes were busted and the home we were living in was a HEALTH HAZARD. When we told the brown group this information they acted like since they weren’t the ones living there it didn’t matter. WE HAD A CHILD THAT WAS LIVING IN THOSE CONDITIONS. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD!!! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!! THEY STILL HAVENT FIXED THE SEWAGE PROBLEM!!! THEY’RE TRYING TO GET NEW PEOPLE TO MOVE IN!!!

Totally Respect the Brown Group! GREAT Opportunity to grow with home purchasing and rental history

This company doesn't even deserve a star. What a joke! For all future renters, do NOT rent from this company. You'll thank me later. The house was disgusting when we moved in and was infested with mice but wouldn't do anything about it. We discovered mold all in the vents upon move out and one closet wall was almost completely rotted. We left the home spotless and cleaner than it was when we moved in, and they are still trying to hold money from our security deposit for additional "cleaning fees". Don't waste your time! Rent from somebody who actually cares about their tenants.

I do not recommend this company because of our recent experience. Just days before we were supposed to move in, we were told that our unit wouldn't be ready on our move-in date & in fact, wouldn't be ready for more than 2 weeks. As our current lease was up, we had no choice but to move into a different, temp unit until the other one was ready. We have been living out of our boxes knowing we just have to move again because of this mistake. Then, when we moved into our temp unit, the AC was not working. We reported it first thing on Mon. morning (we moved in during the weekend), however, no one came to fix it until Thurs. Last week it was between 98 - 100 degrees every day. The inside of the apartment was insufferable & could've caused serious health repercussions for us & our pet. Once they finally came to fix it, it worked for only 1 hr before going out again. We spent another night w/out air, until it was finally fixed on Fri. They didn't offer to move us to another unit in all those 6 days without AC & they didn't as much offer a fan to help with the heat. The next problem was the shower. I noticed the shoddy workmanship immediately, as the drain was incorrectly placed at the highest point of the shower so that the water couldn't drain properly. There was a large amount of standing water in the shower as a result. Then we also found that the tile had not been properly sealed causing water to leak into the wall. On the other side of the wall, there was a huge puddle of water each time we showered. We notified The Brown Group of this issue on Monday, but they did not begin work to fix the shower until Friday morning. It had to be completely re-done & so we went for 4 days without being able to shower & instead were forced to shower at our gym! Again, no offer of moving us to a new unit or any attempt to find an alternate solution while we were waiting on the repairs. On Thursday I tried to call to speak with a supervisor 2 or 3 times, but was told the General Manager was out/unavailable. On the last time, I think Summer felt bad that I had been calling so often & after explaining our issues to her, told me she would speak to the manager & call me back with an answer. She called back at about 5:15pm on Thursday, after their official business hours, & told me that they would be willing to offer us $100 off our rent as compensation. I was very unsatisfied with this after all we had been through and shocked at how low it was. On Friday, we decided to go to The Brown Group office to speak with the General Manager in person. I felt he was unprofessional & treated the issues we had been facing with what presented as a cavalier & patronizing attitude. He downplayed the severity of not having AC, or a working shower and told us that the original offer of $100 for compensation was fair. When we also mentioned that we had been placed in the wrong unit, he responded, "Well, that's news to me". I 'm unsure how a General Manager hadn’t been made aware of such an important detail & significant part of the nightmare we were living. As it appeared that we weren’t making any progress in our negotiations, I told him that we would like to be released from the lease. He responded saying that he couldn't do that because they would be selling this property next month and part of their deal with the buyer was that all units must be leased. Once this information was shared, it became clear why he seemed unconcerned w/all our suffering. Soon, these units would be someone else’s problem. Attention to detail, not cutting corners with contractors, & better customer service could've prevented or rectified all of these issues. In fact, I’ve never had an interaction with a business in which a General Manager was less concerned with providing customer service. In the end, after literally pulling out a calculator to add up all the days we went without a shower or air conditioning, using their pro-rated rate, he agreed to give us a $250 credit. That is the absolute bare minimum. I don't appreciate how we were treated or how the situation was handled.

Amazing Me

I had gave a review. But they do what is needed to get you in. They are a greedy company who get rich off the back of others. I was given a roach infested unclean place. They gave a few dollars off for me to clean and get rid of the 10 generations of roaches. I moved out leaving place way better than what I moved in. They turn around and kept my deposit for things that were wrong when I moved in. Greedy demons . May life give everyone in that office what they have put out ten fold. Shame on you guys shame.

Sonja Royal

I am not even going to go into detail with what has happen. I will say i am not a tenant yet, with The Brown Group but i will be soon all because of Dewayne, i truly thank him for going above and beyond his duty to please a future tenant thank you kindly...

Where do I begin.

Tony has been beyond amazing to work with. He has gone above and beyond any standards I would expect from a company. He was so supportive during such a delicate and stressful time in our lives as home owners . I would recommend this company to anyone!!! Homeowners or possible tenants!

Tonya Johnson

I like to think Myesha and Tony for all the hard work. If I have a work order they get to it. doesn't fall on deaf ears I have to say thank you To. The brown group.

Todd Feehan

They contracted my company to perform work only to get stiffed on the bill. "No complaint, just do what you got to do to get paid" they said.
