They are hard to get in contact with. They never gave us a copy of our lease even though we called and asked a dozen times. We always get someone on the phone (when they actually answer) that says "I'll ask so and so and call you back." No one ever calls back. We were told when we moved in that they would replace the broken windows and the WAY outdated appliances. Then someone actually comes to the building, MONTHS after they said that they would replace these things, and just says "No. That person didn't know what they were talking about. If you want something replaced or fixed, you have to do it yourself." Also, they never take out rent reliably. We've been here a year, and rent is NEVER taken out on the same day! A lot of the time rent for the month won't be taken out until around the 25th of that same month. There is a lot of damage in the apartment (not from us), and we just know that they'll keep our deposit to fix things from previous tenants... Oh yeah! They're changing this apartment building into an AIR BNB (no one told us until a half a dozen tenants were evicted) and have threats up about raising rent for everyone because of smoking tenants, they aren't accepting therapy animals anymore, and the building is literally crumbling. There are HUGE cracks in the corners of the outer walls, the bathroom sink has huge rusty chunks taken out of the enamel and leaks into the cabinet below, the carpet is bunched up in lines across the floor and has chunks taken out of it around the base plates for the sliding doors in the closets, there are more buttons on the stove than in an airplane, there's a hole punched in the back of the bathroom door, the sliding closet doors don't work so we had to put them in the closet (which doesn't lock) in the communal hallway, water damage to the ceilings, huge holes in the walls from previous tenants TV mounts, and huge holes in the ceilings from hanging planter mounts, and the building is not handicapped accessible. One last bad thing. There was a woman who came into the building at 9:00 pm a couple weeks ago. She kept knocking on the neighbor's door. He didn't answer because he liked to sit and listen to music in his headphones (the walls are thin). She unlocks the door and sends her male accomplice in all police style like the guy is going to jump them, and they just start taking pictures of his apartment. A few days later he was gone. Even if he was getting evicted, the management people aren't supposed to come into your apartment between 8 pm and 8 am. It was aggressive and off putting. Anyway, on the nicer side of things, the one lady that I met in person from management (Not the one who barged into the neighbor's apartment) was very nice and informative.
Also, the gentlemen from the Air Bnb wander around at midnight and urinate in the bushes on this property and in the trees at the apartment building across the street.
Also, the Air Bnb people are the ones leaving trash and cigarette butts all over. Plus we just found out that there's a homeless man sleeping on the bottom floor of the building because there's no security, and because there's no security packages have been going missing!
We sent our notice that we were moving out and where to send our deposit check on July 1st with our last rent check, but we have heard nothing back. And though their comment on the Facebook review states that they are "alarmed" they have done nothing to reach out to us to do anything about it. I sent the message the same day she told me to contact them (July 2nd), but there has been no communication. Yesterday we moved out and cleaned the apartment as much as we could, and I can confidently say that it's cleaner than when we moved in. I also did a final walk through video (and pictures) of all the damages.
Addendum: Once we got in contact with Josh, things smoothed out. They were able to take our last month's rent and sent us back our deposit. Glad to be done with it. Thank you Josh!
