I used Marti's team to help me sell my house in Clayton during my relocation to Nebraska. It was a pleasure working with Devon and Jan during this stressful process in our transition from Clayton to Omaha, NE. Both ladies made themselves available to us when we needed and always had prompt answers to any and all questions that came up. If we ever move back to the Raleigh area the Marti Hampton team will be at the top of our list for buyer assistance.
We were nervous buying our first home, but Daphne put all of our fears to rest! She was amazing to work with, responded very quickly, and always knew what to do when we hit speed bumps. The rest of the team was just as helpful with providing all of the info we needed and answering any questions we had about the process. I can't recommend this team enough!
I work with Mary Jo on the remax team and it is my privilege to work with such a professional Kind helpful agent. I cannot say enough about my great experience with her at buying my first home
We worked with Jenne from the Marti Hampton team and would recommend her to anyone looking to buy a home in Raleigh. Jenne was responsive but not pushy and provided guidance when we asked for it. Our first home-buying experience was smooth and successful, and Jenne played a major role in that. Plus, she made it FUN!
My home buying experience with The Marti Hampton Team was superb. This was my first time buying a house on my own. My realtor, Isaac Staubs, did a wonderful job - kept me updated on homes that were available, booked the showings quickly, and answered any questions I had. The great service continued after we found a house. Martha Choe and Isaac answered any questions I had about the closing and assisted in the process. My closing went off without a hitch. Buying a home can be a stressful experience. I am so thankful that my experience was not! Thank you for helping me found not a house, but a home!
This Team is the BEST! They make your home buying process painless and EASY. They have such a vast knowledge of active listings and the area they service. If you are looking to buy or sell a home I highly recommend Marti's Team.

How Bad Was It?...Let Me Count The Ways We had a terrible experience with Marti Hampton. Here’s why: 1. Although Marti herself does answer when you call to inquire about services initially, that is the last you will hear from her. 2. The team that takes over your listing doesn’t care about your listing above any other. Our home was a very unique listing that had a lot more going for it than against it. Every aspect of input that we brought to the table was met with “we’re the experts, let us do our jobs”. We eventually came to realize that if they are # 1 sellers in the area, it is because we are just another home to sell to meet their quota. They wanted and pressured us to accept a low ball offer so they can move on but had no interest in getting us the highest and best offer as Marti advertises on the radio. 3. The agent in charge of our sale came to our house twice. Once to be interviewed as a potential hire, then for a one-time, poorly executed open house. We managed everything else. We did showings, we answered potential buyers’ questions, and more. 4. The initial agent assigned to us pressured us into taking an offer much lower than we wanted. Luckily the offer fell through quickly on their part. 5. Despite the agent’s attempt to pressure us into accepting the offer by telling us they were going to “move on if we did not accept by a deadline”, we caught the agent assigned to us in a bold-faced lie that she (and Marti) refused to accept responsibility for. When we asked to see proof of this “deadline” we were pressured into by way of email from the buyer’s agent, we were sent the email with a time stamp that was just written minutes after we asked for it. When I asked her why it was just written when she told us that email came in that early morning, she said she was not allowed to send us the original email because it was not addressed to us directly. The email she sent to us was not addressed to us either. She was caught in a lie and couldn’t get her facts straight because it was a typical ploy to pressure us into accepting the offer and working with the buyer’s agent as well. 6. When we finally decided enough was enough, we were met with 2 things: Resistance (because they are “the experts”) and attitude. Marti expressed her disappointment, in typical southern charm fashion, until we noted the reasons why we were not pleased. 7. We turned around and listed our home FSBO on the MLS with a flat-rate MLS listing service. We paid $99 to have our home listed (with all the same details and pictures that Marti offered). We had 3 showings quickly and were under contract in less than 2 weeks. We closed within just over 30 days later for $11k more than Marti’s team had us trying to settle for, in addition to not having to pay 6% commission. Needless to say, we saved over $30k by doing it ourselves, with no difference in the work we were already doing with Marti’s team. We had a great experience selling our home ourselves (especially when it came to not having to shell out thousands on commission) but for those that aren’t up to that task my advice would be go anywhere else to have someone list your home. Hiring Marti’s team was the worst experience we had while living in NC.
I am not one to give bad reviews if they are not warranted as I know what a negative impact they can have on a company, but if I could give ZERO stars, I would. The realtor we used from this “team” was absolutely horrendous. She was always running late to showings (20 mins or more), was not familiar with the area we were looking to buy in at all, had no knowledge of the local schools or sports programs, and never did research to find out more info for us. We were constantly sending HER properties to look at, she never recommended any properties for us on her own. We were moving from another state so we were forced to rely on this realtor to check on our house (it was a new build), the building process, and closing. She NEVER once drove to our house to check on it like she said she would, she was late to the final walk through and missed many important issues on the walkthrough that should have been remedied before the closing, like the fact the hot water heater and AC were broken. The team apparently has their own person to go over closing documents before the actual closing. This person and our realtor missed mistakes in the documents that if we wouldn’t have caught ourselves would have cost us THOUSANDS of dollars. After closing, our realtor never once checked in on us. Thanks to her and her not doing her job, we moved across the country into a brand new house with three kids and had NO hot water or AC (it was 99 degrees out the day we moved in). Those are things that absolutely should have been found in the final walk through had she been doing her job. She only responds in texts too. We’d call her to discuss certain questions or concerns we had throughout this process and she would only text us back. I did contact Marti Hampton, the lead of this “team” with a lengthy email listing all our frustrations and concerns. She emailed me back saying she would get back to me soon and never did, that was over a month ago so now I want to warn everyone what a joke and waste of money we experienced. SAVE YOURSELF AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Marti Hampton is definitely one of the most professional and dynamic real estate agents in NC.... hire her and you will always be happy.
We had the pleasure of working with Mary Shook Simpson from the Marti Hampton Team. I cannot say enough about how amazing she is. We had some unexpected turns in our life on our home purchase journey but she was with us every step of the way. Mary has top notch skills, commitment, and passion! Real estate agents are busy people but we always felt like we were Mary's top priority. Whether it was through email, text, phone or in person she is on top of it! She has wonderful personality to make the buying or selling process fun. You're always in good hands with Mary!
I had a great home buying experience with the help of Shannon. She was great at coaching me through the process which was very helpful for me as a first time home buyer. She was very knowledgeable about the Raleigh area and gave me many useful tips from the start of my search until we closed on a great home. She is very personable and easy to work with, I highly recommend her as a realtor.
Excellent service! Knowledgeable and professional! Would definitely recommend!
5 Stars to the Marti Hampton Team! Marti and her team are the most professional and caring group of realtors with whom I have had the pleasure of working. In the most difficult time of my life, they offered support and encouragement. They took my burden, made it their own, and sold my properties with maximum efficiency. Thank you, Team Marti. You're the best!
Going with Marti Hampton real estate team to sell our home was a great idea. They made it easy for us to transition from one place to another. They are very friendly and know what to do. We appreciate all they did. We will choose them when we decide to buy our future home.
My wife and I worked with Rebecca Journigan from Marti's team and she was outstanding. Very knowledgeable and took the time to learn our needs and incorporate that into the showings.
This is a terrific team of professionals; I highly recommend to all buyers and/or sellers who want to get the job done right.
My husband Bill and I were thoroughly impressed by Mary Jo Coppola's professionalism and follow through! Highly recommend!
