As anyone in NYC knows, buying an apartment can be a very hard and over whelming process -especially for first time buyers like us. The process for buying an apartment for us was just that. Thankfully we had Evan Osur and the team at Living NY to help us through this process and ultimately make us very happy that we bought an apartment. We hit a lot of obstacles on the way and the deal at one point was pretty much dead, but Evan and his team at Living NY refused to let it fall apart and ultimately got us to a closing and completed the deal. We were referred to Devin Someck by a friend after having a hard time selling our apartment in Long Island City with other brokers. Well, Devin got the deal DONE! He was quick, organized, and super responsive. He has a real good understanding of the market and very patiently guided us with how we wanted to price the apartment. ***UPDATE*** i worked with Evan for a second time, this time as my buying agent when I bought my co-op in NYC and the service was bar none. As a Type-A person, being able to trust someone else to do a good job was challenging at first, but Evan was on top of it, answered all my questions, was extremely communicative and always on. Most importantly, he got me an amazing deal and helped me secure my dream home, which was highly pursued by the market place. I would not be happier and would definitely use Evan again in the future to buy, sell, or rent. ---------------------------------------------- I recently relocated from Atlanta to NYC and had some pretty specific requirements for the type of apartment I was looking for and the neighborhood I wanted to be in. I was put in touch with Evan Osur and he was excellent to work with! I knew absolutely nothing about NYC Real Estate and how to navigate the market and management companies, but he talked me through everything and made sure I was kept in the loop every step of the way. I am writing this review with regards to an unprofessional attitude of an agent. I had asked him if the listing I was interested in was available and he said yes it was. He encouraged me to put in my application with my "new offer" and had mentioned that that if the owner may accept my offer, they'll see my credit score and my strong financials. After he received my application, I asked him to whom I should write the certified check to and where I should send it. It took him five days to respond with the information I needed with an information that the particular listing had another application. He asked to give him few days to see what the landlord wanted to do. He never got back to me until I found out from Street Easy that the apartment was already in contract. I confronted him about this and he became defensive with his text messages blaming me for not giving a deposit and for not offering the full ask. I am not mad because I lost the apartment to another client, but I am really upset because this agent wasted my time by being unresponsive and in the end blamed the client for following what he had exactly instructed. New York real estate market may be tough, but it should not be an excuse for an agent to be unprofessional and not owning a responsibility.

Worked with Jack Malykin. First, we attended an open house which we were lead to believe was just a meeting with him. Second, we let him know we were interested in the apartment right after viewing. He sent us the application and said he was not accepting it until we got him everything from us. Ok, understood. So we asked when he was next available to meet in person and he said Wednesday ( 2 days later) We followed up on Tuesday to confirm when we were meeting and he said he had received another application that Tuesday. After he told us he was not available until the Wednesday?? VERY happy we did not give this man any money, but total scumbag of a broker. Not sure how these guys can feel good bout themselves treating people this way.

Edit: After I posted this Devin called me to scold me for posting the review. He raised his voice to me on the phone and I ended up hanging up on him. Horrifying. Would NEVER do business with this man again. Original Post: I reached out to Devin, a principal broker for this company, about a listed 3 bedroom apartment. Not only did he not show up to the meeting, saying I could tell the doorman to let me in, he didn't give me the correct apartment number and the apartment was a 1 BEDROOM! And apparently we were the 3rd group that night to turn up to the building (according to the Doorman), who had not been able to get in touch with him when they too were confused about the apartment only having 1 bedroom. He lied about the listing, wasted my time, was un-responsive when I reached back out, and honestly just doesn't appear to know what he's doing. Apparently he can sell million dollar apartments, but lets be real... those things sell themselves. I wouldn't do business with someone who can't even figure out what number of rooms an apartment has. Go for a better known brokerage if you want someone who will actually work with you.
