They make promises they can't keep and when it comes time to put it in writing they make themselves unavailable, not in office. They also want $500 deposit just to apply for an apt, though they say it's refundable, others who have left reviews here have had problems in getting the money back plus there's an additional one month broker fee $75.00 application fee/credit check, one month broker fee. Difficult to work with, alot of bait and switch. Their no fee apts. don't exist, they will want the $500 deposit regardless and good luck getting it back and even if you manage to get it after getting a sob story from the manager how it's the management company's fault, they'll deduct at least $25.00 from your deposit for bank fees which they should not get, they should be refunding all of it back. Their response below is a sign of what you'll get, alot of denial, no I didn't say that, I never said that after it was in fact promised and lastly it's not us, it's the management company's fault while they try to squeeze as much as they can out of you in cahoots with the management company they represent. Of course I do not want to deal with them again or acknowledge their below response. Scroll through the good reviews to the bad ones and the bad ones are correct I found out once they have your deposit they pressure you to put up more money and take a different deal. Kudos to those who refused. The proof is in the pudding, others here have had problems as well. I refuse to waste my time with them.

The best part of my experience working with Alpha Management was hands down working with James Finelli. In fact, if it weren’t for James’ hard work and dedication, my roommate and I likely would still be looking, months later, for an apartment. Throughout the duration of the application process--I had a good amount of doubt that we’d get the place, but James reassured me every step of the way. James REALLY worked hard for my roommate and I. Finding a dedicated and ambitious realtor that puts in 110% when working with a client --alongside many others-- is very rare in the city. So if you want the real deal, work with James. I’m a strong judge of character and he’s the man-- he will work around the clock to not let you down. Oh and I almost forgot to mention--he’s a dime; a TEN wouldn’t do him justice.

I worked with Etai Shickler and he has been very helpful in the process. I had pretty strict criteria and Etai was able to understand it perfectly and put in efforts with those constraints. This saved a lot of time since all shortlisted units displayed desired features within price range. He was responsive in terms of getting back to requests but also patient when it comes to showings. We had 4 viewings together in cold days across the city and there were no complaints. Very professional and highly recommend.

Gilad is the worst. I first reached out to him via the Internet, I saw a listing under his name that suited my price range and appeared to fit my needs. He suggested that we set up a day to view apartments based on my needs ( price range, amenities, location, etc.). We were in a time crunch to find an apartment in one day. He made multiple promises throughout the day such as price negotiation, move-in availability, and apartment repairs. He also did not fully disclose the cost of apartment applications, frequently saying that if we liked a place we should put in multiple applications, that they were only $30-$40. Reality: none of the apartments were in our price range, but in the end we were able to locate an apartment that would work (of course, above our price range). We filled out the application ($100) and this was when we had to put $500 deposit down, a far cry from$30-$40. He assured us that we would be able to negotiate the rent. Reality: rent price could not be negotiated, and this was when his English became so difficult to understand that we were then communicating by text (obviously someone else was writing). This broker and his agency Alpha Properties left a very unsavory feeling and the business office seemed a front for some kind of questionable operation. At the end of the day, I would never recommend using this Gilad and Alpha Properties.

I came across one of Nadav’s postings by total serendipity, and I’m so glad I did. Throughout our interactions he was honest, warm, forthcoming, timely, helpful, and dedicated. When I didn’t get the first apartment I put in an application for ( I moved a bit too slow), he helped me find something that was an even better fit. Within a day he lined up several other places to show me- thoughtful of my priorities and criteria in location, space, & price. He appeared to take on a personal stake in finding the right home for me. I felt that, at every stage of the process, Nadav went above and beyond. For example, he stayed late so I could come and sign the application. He even came with me after the lease was signed to help me take measurements of the new space which was incredibly kind. Moving, even under auspicious circumstances, can be an arduous, daunting, and stressful experience. Nadav made the whole process a bit easier and way more fun for me. Next time I have friends moving into the city, I’ll insist they reach out to Nadav straight away.

We met Joe by chance when visiting a listing he was managing, and thank god we did. When he saw that we were not feeling that first place, he asked what we were looking for and our price range and was able to take us to 4 more places that same night. We ended up leasing apartment number 4 at a much better price than we were expecting. He also only showed us dog-friendly places because we said we had a dog--a refreshing change from other agents! We actually met Joe only after we had gone through a whole process of interview and full-day tour with another agency. He had approved my application and the day of signing, told me the rent not only increased, but I would have to pay an additional security. Obviously told him to jump off a bridge. Yes - it is expensive to work with a realtor, but to be honest, it is impossible to find good apartments in NYC while avoiding a fee. Left a deposit with them for an apartment lease and provided all my credit information. Two days later, they got back to me and said that while my credit checked out as excellent, the owner/landlord wants to change the deal and require a double security deposit or they would rent it to someone else from who they just took an application. What??? The purpose of my deposit was to lock up the apartment AND the terms. The only reasons to change them are if the credit doesn't check out (it did) or if the building management is dishonest (they are). I refused and had to use strong language to get my security back. They did refund most of it, after keeping $25 in bank fees. I am unhappy with how this went down and this was originally a harsher review that I softened after the brokerage manager spent considerable time (which I appreciate) explaining how they were stuck in the middle of this transaction. They really should not represent management companies that treat people this way.

They were so prompt in giving me a ton of options that fit all of my requirements of an apartment-- which was amazing considering I had a giant list of requirements and huge expectations. (Also, unlike other brokers they don't show you anything above the budget you outlined, which is something I appreciated.) They worked with my schedule to make sure I could see apartments at times that were convenient to me and even kept on top of the whole process with me via email and text while I was out of town.
