I have been working with Samantha for about a week working out the details of a rental. She has been super informative, made multiple trips to the location for information I needed and provide insight to the community as well. She has made my relocation easy with her friendly customer service and willingness to negotiate to ensure a fair deal was made. She was prompt on returning emails and phone calls as well. So far I am more than pleased with this company and Samantha.

Let me start out by saying that if I could give them zero stars then I would. Homespot has absolutely no regard for the safety of their tenants and will allow for them to live in abysmal living conditions. My current property was being renovated when I put down a safety deposit. They promised a nice, beautiful home. Coming into it, it was obviously worn down still. In the past two months the faces have fallen off of outlets; mold has been found growing in said outlets; two separate outlets have arced; necessary repairs have taken weeks to be done; and to top it all off, one of the bedrooms does not meet the standards to be a bedroom. It does not have a window in it. My previous roommate left after a month, and I can't fill the vacnancy because the second bedroom cannot legally be rented out. Homespot has done nothing to help me. Instead they are trying to find loopholes while I continue to pay rent for a bedroom that is not recognized as a bedroom according to local building and fire codes. In the meantime, it took 11 days to a response to a service request for my moldy and exposed outlets. The staff is disorganized, dishonest, and when it comes down to it - a bunch of slum lords. You're better off traveling from Clovis or Muleshoe as I've heard the other realtors in town aren't any better.

My first time renting and I chose Homespot and I’m glad I did. The staff was very helpful and answered any questions I had, made sure I understood what was going on, and made the whole process so easy and got me in to my apartment very fast! 5/5

Teresa and Abel were wonderful to work with. See either or both of them and you will not be disappointed! Teresa helped us get a great deal on our property and Abel put us in a beautiful mobile home at a reasonable price. In our minds and hearts they are the homespot all stars.

Bob Jones properties, Biber properties, and other options should be sought for better personal concerns to be met on a tenant to landlord basis. Drive around and look at outside conditions where you see homespot signs. They are just between the scenes manage group hiding the truth for landlords who care less about human beings, and want no hassle with a human population of global community thinkers. There paperwork is near communistic. They have no problem with lying to your face, just pay and have a good day. The other mentioned property owners actually have genuine concern for the renter and do well in their upkeep, winterizing, whatever it takes to keep the tenant healthy and happy. There is an oversurplus of empty rentals in the area. Decide for yourselves. One good thing about homespot is they don't bother you. & you have to realize, not all their properties actually belong to them, so they can grey area whether certain issues can be taken care of. They have a long way to go to be the best instead of just the biggest, spread out. In business, one must pay attention to detail. Like ensuring an advertised date, then the tenant has to shampoo their own carpets 5times just to begin placing personal belongings out. This never should have happened after receiving a down payment. So the best thing, as read earlier is, they don't bother the tenant nor bother to do for the tenant either. Like a screen door, or screen Windows. So manage for yourself and you'ok have a place to stay quietly. Since, adequate help is as hard to find as good help once was. After driving240 miles, I held expectations to arrive to a clean place. Beware, there are worse rentals out there. Shop around.Peace

I do a lot of correspondence with Homespot Property Management. Since I have some rental property managed by them, I know firsthand how diligent this company is in inspecting the properties they manage, and making sure repairs are taken care of promptly when needed. Really grateful to have such a friendly and competent staff taking care of my renters and me.

sorry I've moved

They are some of the most dishonest rental agencies I have ever dealt with they were given notice of my move out but then claimed no such notice was given. I have informed all of my friends never to use them when looking for rentals.

Abel Garcia was able to take confusion out of buying a house. Made me feel comfortable when I bought my first home.

The customer satisfaction team leaves much to be desired. They attempt to upsell the cost of their homes because they "give" you a storage building with the home, but I can buy a storage building and have it delivered for half of what they are charging for it.

Friendly staff, they treat you as a person, not just a customer. Any issues are taken care of immediately. Quality of homes are outstanding as well as customer service. I’ve dealt with HomeSpot three times and am completely satisfied. I’ll use them again for my real estate needs.

I've rented with Homespot on and off for about five years now. They definitely have a monopoly on Portales, as many of the places you can rent from are now owned by their company. Last year, my wife and I switched hands from Master Realty (now defunct) to Homespot twice as the former sunk further and further towards bankruptcy due to gross mismanagement from their shady owner. All that being said, there was a lot of confusion between Homespot and the renters as Homespot had to take over Master's standing leases (I'm not sure if they took all of them over, but definitely all the ones from one of the apartment complexes my wife and I stayed in, in addition to the duplex we moved into afterwards). But before I was even married and still in college, a few of my friends and I lived together in a three bedroom duplex at the corner of Abilene and 18th. It was a fine house and they were very responsive to any complaints or concerns we had during my time living there. Now, moving back, my wife and I were desperately needing a new place to stay and had a small budget to work with. Homespot helped us get into an amazing two bedroom they recently renovated, and once we explained our desperate situation, they helped us move in, sign the lease, and get all of our paperwork sorted out in the same day. I can understand why Homespot has so many negative reviews- as I mentioned earlier, they have a monopoly stake on rentals in Portales, so I imagine they have TONS of properties to manage, renovate, and respond to. Someone is going to get left out sometimes- they're a small town company with a limited staff, and there is only so much they can do. But if it weren't for Homespot, my wife, our cat and I would all be sleeping in the streets right now. I think we tend to forget sometimes that humans aren't perfect, and we tend to let our anger and resentment control us. The truth is, not everyone is always out to get you. Not everyone is only in it for personal gain. I just feel blessed I have a home to sleep in, and that I can call it mine.

HomeSpot was probably one of the worst rental experiences I have ever had the displeasure of having to endure. The employees are kind but the company takes forever to get anything done. We rented for a year. 6 months of that time we had a leak in our roof and a disgusting ceiling. We were told that they would "wait and see if it would leak again" because it was too expensive to fix. We had leaks all winter and all spring. To the point that a repair man came on a day it was raining 5 months later to ask if we had a leak without me having to call. They have zero sense of urgency unless it means money in their pocket. If you have the option to rent from somewhere else. Please do.

DO NOT BRING YOUR BUSINESS HERE. SO NOT RENT FROM OR LET THEM TOUCH YOUR PROPERTY. READ THE 1 STAR REVIEWS. Absolute scam of a company. They will lie and steal anything they can from you. Avoid like the plague- because they are one

Do not rent from Homespot. Maybe there's better service when you're buying a house through them, but I rented with them for two whole years and it was an absolute mess. They were always EXTREMELY disorganized, you could go to them with a question and every single employee will give you a completely different answer. They don't care about the condition of the properties and if something is wrong with the property, you have to argue with them to get them to come fix it. Even if the problem it potentially hazardous and/or life threatening. They will try to nickle and dime you for anything and everything. Upon moving out, they charged me and my roommates a yard maintenance/cleaning fee of $120 with no previous warning. They said that the charge was from a yard cleaning (shrubs, weed pulling, etc.) that they had done almost a year prior to us being charged for it/moving out. I might also add, that they just showed up to our house WITHOUT a notice, to do that yard cleaning (which is technically illegal). We literally woke up (or I should say, we were WOKEN up) one morning and heard voices right outside our house. When we looked outside our windows, there were several Homespot employees on our property (again, WITHOUT any prior notice). They also tried to charge us for leaving behind a yard decoration (bird feeding pole) that wasn't even ours. It belonged to previous renters and it was there when we moved in. We didn't move it because it didn't bother us. The previous renters left it behind and if it was the much of a problem, Homespot should have removed it prior to the next renters' (my roommates and myself) move-in date. I will also add that when it was time to renew our lease, we informed them that we would be renewing. They told us they would send a copy of the lease via e-mail so that we could re-sign, and they didn't send it until about 6 months later (after us reminding them MANY times) when we were two months away from moving out. If you can avoid it, don't rent from Homespot. It's unfortunate because many of the nice and affordable properties here in Portales are managed by Homespot. But there are other places. I now rent an apartment that is privately owned, the condition of the property is pretty nice and the landlords are great! There are many other options. I recommend that Homespot be your VERY last resort.

Anyone looking to buy I highly suggest HomeSpot ask for Teresa or Abel!! I finally have bought a home of my own thanks too these two who never gave up in searching a home for me... They are awesome in communicating and keeping you posted! They are the best home sellers I have ever came across !!!

My real estate agent was Mark Aragon and i must say it was the smoothest transaction i have ever had to deal with. Anytime i had questions about selling my house he was quick to answer and more than willing to come see me in person if it was to complicated to talk about over the phone. Most people complain about how long it can take to sell a house but with Mark and Homespot by my side i got my asking price in no time at all.

Hannah Kennedy

Very unprofessional business. They are the absolute worst. Do not rent/buy from them. You will regret it.

Homespot was very helpful with getting us in our new home. I was in communication with Abel before I was even in the state and he kept me informed on the entire process. Abel took his time to communicate all aspects and ensure we were happy with every option available and would update us on the progress with all the construction. Daniel and his construction and maintenance crew have been great and after we moved in have reached out to make sure everything is satisfactory and addressed any concerns. Thank you Homespot!

Joseph Connell

Homespot is terrible! When we had to moved, I was putting my house up for rent and Homespot was the best option at the time because they didn't charge a fee if renters weren't in the house, meaning they were more motivated to get someone in the house. That was the only positive thing about them. In the 2 and a half years I let them be a property manager, they continued to fail at the one job they are paid for which is simply communication between renters and owners. At one point, my renters had an issue in our house that they alerted Homespot about 6 months prior to me finding out. The only reason I found out is I was in town and did a home visit. I spoke with management to fix the issue and not even a week later another issue happened with our house and again my renters alerted Homespot and they did nothing. It took my renters calling me directly for the problem to be fixed. Later, we were selling our house and I decided to let Homespot sell it (very bad idea) since they already had the information on the house. The first realtor I had, failed to communicate with me for entire week, a few weeks after the house was on the market. He finally called me and we spoke. A few weeks later, I attempted to call the realtor for 2 weeks straight with no answer. I finally called Homespot directly and found out he had quit 2 weeks ago and no one alerted me. We got another realtor through them, while she was helpful and tried, nothing had been done to market or show the house in over 2 months. I fired Homespot and went to Keller Williams and in 2 weeks we were under contract and sold our house. Even after the renters moved out, Homespot was trying to charge us for fixes that needed to be done instead of using the security deposit from the renters. It took several weeks of arguing, they finally used what the security deposit was meant for. Fast forward to a few weeks ago while in the final stages of closing on my house, Homespot calls to say they have someone interested in renting the home. I told them the house has been with Keller Williams and the lady said it was still showing active in their system, even though I fired them and was done with them 4 months prior. That would not have given me peace of mind IF my house was still under their management that they would let it sit in their system for 4 months with no activity. Clearly put, Homespot is nothing but a dumpster fire that wants your money and doesn't care about customer service or the renters needs for that matter..... DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Home spot manages a rent house for me. It is far easier now than when I was dealing with it myself. They take care of everything and have been great to deal with. I also purchased land from them this year. The transaction was easy and went through with no problems. Homespot has been great to deal with. They are friendly, efficient and have been wonderful to work with. Regardless of whether you need property management or realty, I highly recommend the Homespot team.

Worst experience ever!!

Jim Barton

The sales side of the company is great, but the rental side is terrible. We signed the lease to rent a home and asked for the shed keys and were told we would have them tomorrow. The next day they said it is not part of home and would cost an extra 100 dollars a month even though it was one foot from the garage. I refused and then we caught the owners coming to and fro from it. We lost heat and I was told that we had a fireplace so we would be fine. Also there was mold in the bedroom closet and in the bathroom and they told me it wasn't harmful and ignored it. In the end I used a floor cleaner that they had on their list and he over-soaked the floors, they then kept a large portion of my deposit. Steer clear. All of my dealings were met with very rude and dismissive attitudes.

I'll start out this review by saying I have been with Homespot for a full year now. Everything from finding a place, to up-keeping the property, to ending my lease has been nothing but fast, fluent and friendly service. While searching for a home, a realtor took as much time as needed showing us multiple properties in the area, in a price range that we were looking for. As far as taking care of the property once you're moved in. There's nobody better than Homespot. I never had a service request go more than a day without being answered. Throughout my whole experience with Homespot, the staff there has been extremely friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend anybody looking for a place in the Portales / Clovis area to start here. I can only hope that I find a company as professional and thorough as Homespot in my future endeavors.

DO NOT and I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT rent with homespot!! When my roommates and I first signed our least they told us that our final rent (per month) would be $795. It was not until after we signed the lease that they decided to tell us about all the fees that they added on monthly so our rent ended up being about $810 and they also charged us service fees each month just to pay rent. Any time we needed maintenance it took days for someone to come fix something for us. Our fridge went out and it took them a week to get it fixed and all of our food went bad. They were suppose to sent us a new air filter every month and we maybe got one every other month. We were told that they would be in charge of our yard maintenance but they only came to pull weeds once and then when we moved out they said that it was our responsibility to keep up with the yard and the clean up was going to come out of our deposit. About a month and a half before our lease was up we went into the office to tell them that we did not want to continue our lease after it was up so we asked them what we needed to do and they said that we just had to let them know like we did and we just had be moved our by the expiration of our lease. About a week before our lease was up I went back in to make sure everything we needed done was done and when I went in this time they said that I needed to give a written 30 day notice. They did not tell us that when we went in weeks before. They ended up charging us rent for three weeks after our lease was up because they said that we did not give our 30 days notice in time. After we were all moved out and had the house clean we went in and asked what else needed to be done and they told us that we needed to shampoo the carpet. So we rented a carpet shampooer and spent 3 hours cleaning the Capet in the house then when we went back in they told us that that did not count and they we either needed to pay them to do it ($200) or hire a professional to do it. So they ended up taking the cost of that our of our deposit as well. The communication within this company is very very poor and resulted in us losing our entire deposit. The only person that was helpful in this entire process was Sky, she was the one who did the final check of our house before turning our keys in. Save yourself the money and the grief and DO NOT rent with homespot.

We are buying our first house through homespot and Abel and Debbie have been very helpful. They don't hesitate to answer any questions that we have. It has been a very long process and still not finished and they always keep us updated on where we are at. We hope to be completely finished by October or November.

Don’t ever rent from homespot, they are: lazy, unprepared, and they expect you to pay $75 a month for every pet you own. They don’t care about having good service and they don’t care about reaching their costumers needs in a timely manner. After I’m finished with my 1 year lease I will rent from monkeys before I rent from homespot again.

Elena Calderon Taylor

I have had a horrible experience with Homespot!! I would not recommend doing business with them to anyone!! Every time I called, no one knew what they were talking about and no one would return my call. I had a checkout inspection scheduled and the guy shows up 30 minutes late. They gave me the run around with my rental and were very difficult to deal with. Many of the employees were rude and not helpful at alll!!!

Poker Face

I think it’s funny that the replies from Homespot are so generic and insincere. Sounds like they care as much about helping to solve the problems as they do about conducting good business.

A year ago we purchased our first home from HOMESPOT. It's a pre manufactured home and we love it! HOMESPOT is great they're so friendly and so helpful they walked us through the whole thing. ABEL GARCIA our sales person actually took the time to address some of the concerns we had and made sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. When they first delivered our home there was some minor details and some minor troubles from the whole delivery process but they stuck with us till the very end and made sure everything was taken care of. Needless to say 1 year later we bought a second manufactured home for my mom, from HOMESPOT and again a great buying process! Thanks HOMESPOT!

They're really on top of their properties, I looked into a few and they work with the property owner and the tenants to come to an agreement. So helpful, so sweet. Always open to answering questions.

I will never rent from Homespot ever again. I do not recommend it. They are very unprofessional and have staff that will disclose untrue information to you. One of their employees have harassed me to a point where I almost made a police report about it. They never complete the work orders I put in and never actually fixed what I needed fixed. They lie about their lease policies and will leave important information out. Save yourself time, money, and sanity and rent from someone else. Also, some of the reviews on this website were made by people who were told to put a good review on, and have never actually rented from Homespot. Very untrustworthy.

cris sparks

Homespot is horrible. They tried charging us for damages that we didn't even cause. They kept shutting our water off stating that we never paid it and they said we didn't have to pay for water. It was included. They gave us a 3 day eviction notice after they said we didn't pay rent due to one of thier mistakes. They also served us court papers, but couldn't do anything about it because they were in the wrong. They are now charging us fees for absolutely nothing and ruining our credit. We have proof stating that homespot lied to our faces.

Chris Tinder

I purchased a home from Homespot in early 2014. The agent pounded the pavement for me and made sure I got into the right house. It was my first time buying a house, so I had a lot of questions and apprehension. Everyone I dealt with was patient and informative. If they didn't know an answer right away I didn't need to wait long to find out. 5/5 would (and do) recommend Homespot for buying a home first time or otherwise. I've never personally dealt with the property management side of their business but if the level of service I received buying a house is any indication of their commitment to customer satisfaction then I would have no problems using or recommending them for that as well.

We first took our business to HomeSpot in the Spring of this year to have them help manage our rental properties in town. From the beginning their staff have always been courteous & responsive which is a big part of the reason we've decided to make use of their other services like manufactured housing, construction/maintenance, tax/accounting and also real estate. The monthly statements we receive from Amelia & Serena in property management are always easy to follow & whenever we have questions about any of the line items both ladies are always available to either help clarify or if necessary correct any discrepancies & see to it that our account is properly credited. They also understand the importance of the income that our rentals generate for us & do all they can to make sure we have good tenants while also respectfully communicating with & servicing those tenants when needed to make sure we don't have a high turnover. We asked Abel in manufactured housing to help us with ideas on how to develop an open lot we own & from the first day he was incredibly supportive & enthusiastic. He took pretty much all of the confusion & frustration out of the entire process including selecting the best model, getting all the official steps taken care of with the necessary authorities, and making sure both the delivery & finishing went smoothly. But by far the area where Abel has shown his true professionalism was understanding our financial situation & extending us a personal level of trust when it came to the actual financing of our purchase -- without that we could not have moved forward with any of our plans. Daniel, Samantha & Jennifer in construction/maintenance are a key part of the reason we've been so happy to keep working with HomeSpot. We trust their pricing, quality of work and choice of contractors to the point that we've asked them to handle jobs at our own residences. They we're even available the entire Memorial Day weekend to make sure a tenant could get a replacement refrigerator with minimal delay. We have also chosen to work with Mark V. in tax/accounting for both our personal as well as business filings. Initially our decision was driven by the convenience of handling more matters at a single nearby location in town. What we've come to find though is an impressive level of expertise that Mark always brings to issues we need his guidance on along with an approach to customer service that let's you know he always has your best interest as his first objective. We have yet to close a transaction with the real estate team but we've had nothing but the most courteous degree of service & assistance from Josiah, Josh and Mark A. Whether it's keeping us informed of new opportunities, providing additional details on properties we're interested in, arranging viewings according to our own schedules or taking the time to walk us through the offering process when the time comes, we know we're dealing with people who are on our side.

I would never recommend going through homespot after everything. Worst rental agency I have ever dealt with and the biggest rip off. They try and squeeze as much money as they possibly can out of you without giving you any notice. When trying to end my lease they made it the most difficult process in the world. Gave me a list of things I needed to clean and replace before I left, and when I did them, I was still charged over 500$ out of my security deposit for it. I left the place in way better condition than I got it in, and was told 2 different prices that I would be paying from homespot. They are un-organized and a terrible company. If I could give 0 stars I would, and good luck to anyone attempting to go through them.

Paula Hickman

We give Homespot 5 stars. Abel has sold us 2 homes. One in 2005 and one in 2012. The latter was for my mother to live in on our property so we could take care of her. She loved her home but sadly she passed in 2017. We found that we needed to sell her home and have it moved from our property. Contacted Abel (our forever super sales person). Explained our problem. He was able to help us take care of the issue at a mutual benefit for both parties. We still live in our 2005 double wide and love it as much today as the day we bought it. Able, thank you for going above and beyond. We highly recommend Homespot for any of your housing needs.

ng8m00t

I would like to start off by saying I generally do not give reviews. I feel a Company should always do 100% for every sale, However, Homespot and particularly Abel Garcia went above and beyond what I expected to receive with the building and purchase of my new home, I had to leave a review so others would know what a wonderful experience I had. From the planning stage to the end, Able was knowledgeable in his business and was able to lead me toward the home I wanted to achieve. I was moving from Tennessee to Texas so most of our communication was done over the phone and email. Able never failed to keep me abreast of any changes or updates and he always made sure I knew where it was in production. I had some changes made in the middle of production and Able took it in stride. All the changes happened without fail. The home finished ahead of schedule!! I could not be happier with my home. Homespot was a very good company to do business with. They gave 150%!!! Everyone in the office is friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to see that their customers are happy and you should be sure to ask for Able Garcia!!! You will not be disappointed. Ann Lindemann

Find other options. People are not very happy with this property management group. Expect the burden to be yours from cleaning to anything relevant to customer satisfaction when rental agreement gets signed. Something not quite right about the experience. Be sure to check your options out with other property groups.

Phobie Privett of Homespot was a pleasure to deal with during the sale of my parents home. I live out of town and was able to to rely on her to anticipate and take care of any issue that arose during the sales process. She coordinated several repairs, home improvements and even arranged for periodic lawn care. If you are in the Market to buy or sell a home I very highly recommend her as she is a true professional!

We are airforce and rented through homespot. Teresa has treated us wonderful! I recommend renting/buying through them! They will do everything they can to meet your needs!

This is the absolute most awful rental company to go through. When the on your rental is up they will charge you for the most stupid things, such as lease closure $50, convenience fee $20, breathed too much air while renting $40, front lightbulb out $50, ohh you want your deposit back and left our house in excellent condition? That'll be another $150. You have been fairly warned not to rent through Homespot. Good luck

Angel Neault

Worst Rental service I have ever dealt with! They false advertise! They give you one price, and than after 48 hours tell you they had made a mistake and keep your deposit! Amelia Redmond is the manager at the Portales, NM location. Her insolence tone in which she speaks to customers, and acts is disgusting! Most of the rentals smell like dog and cat pee. After speaking to Amelia for the first time today, I explained that I felt they should remove a price that is wrong. It isn't fair to lie to a customer. She said I will do me and you do you... She said she was beyond frustrated with me, and was very annoyed. This was the first time I had spoken with her, and I was very calm. I believe I was being fair in just asking for my refund for their error. I will never, ever deal with this company in my life! I would rather go spend twice as much money and deal with someone who actually acts as if they care. There are multiple places to look at getting apartments and homes. I highly suggest you search elsewhere!
