Rented a house managed by ERA Simmons for a year. During the time we had some needed repairs. At one point they did not respond to my maintenance request. I was in contact with the homeowner that said ERA told them to wait on the request. Seriously!?!? So according to renters rights I sent them a 7 day notice of my intent to vacate due to them not providing. This was about 2 months after I first reported the problem. Within 24 hours they had a maintenance person contact me. The direct and willful delay in maintaining a home is shameful. The move out process was also strange as we were accused of having 2 large dogs in the house. We had no pets. I don't understand why there would be an accusation. Besides the sketchyness and multiple issues, ERA was generally professional to work with. The online interface was convenient and they did well to show the home.

ERA Agent John Stovell couldn't sell my house in 1.5 years (only 4 showings in 1.5 years). After selling the house myself "For Sell by Owner," John called me a liar, and falsely accused me of colluding with the buyer. He then attempted to sabotage the sell of my home, created angst between the buyer (selling agent and my buyer-they were selling their home), mis-represented my home to the appraiser. ERA was notified, but failed to take any action, condoning the un-professional and un-ethical behavior of their agent. I would recommend choosing another agent for sure, and using a different brokerage firm if at all possible. If anything goes wrong, You will be very disappointed with how ERA responds.

Shawn Oswalt is AMAZING. Bought a house from him and had him as my agent for selling two homes. I can't tell you all he did for us since he did so much. We live out of state and received a notice from the city about weeds exceeding the code limit and had to cut them or get fined. I called Shawn to see if he could recommend someone to do it only to find out he'd already taken care of it and paid for it himself! He paid for landscaping once at my other property as well as many more things. Top notch service, super friendly and helpful. He's wonderful.

Went down to talk with Elain Tucker at Simmons Real Estate about purchasing a house. She would not listen to our situation and was just worried about her $26,000 commission. I cannot believe how rude she was to a customer potentially spending almost $400k. If you are in Alamogordo find another realtor. Elain is by far the rudest most condescending realtor I have ever dealt with. Stay away folks it’s not worth your time and she is only worried about herself and the money she can potentially make off of you.
