My husband and I are first time home buyers. We had been looking in Hudson County on and off for about two years. Our agent Noah was very patient and didn't put pressure on us to transact immediately. The biggest attraction of Redfin to us (refund $ aside) is that the agents are salaried instead of commissioned, which aligns them better with the clients needs instead of just trying to maximize their commissions. We are also proud to have witnessed the evolution of the Redfin platform. There are a lot of useful stats on Redfin website and the agent's tour reviews are definitely helpful as a sneak peak without actually visiting the property. Online tour booking works pretty well generally. Depending on staff availability, you may end up touring with a licensed real estate agent or one of their associates. A lot of the associates have prior experience in real estate or construction, which is very helpful, and you can actually learn a lot from them. Redfin operation is not well set up for foreclosures and short sales, if you are the adventurous kind of buyers. The Redfin app has improved significantly over the last two years. Being millennials we highly value the convenience of accessing information anytime at the fingertip, without the need to talk to a human, lol. Open house information on Redfin is a little incomplete at this stage, something to do with how the seller agents record the open house. So it's a good idea to cross reference Zillow or Trulia from time to time.
