I received an email from Zillow because the price of this property was dropped and it fell into the price range we were looking for. We have an agent that lives 30 mins away but we live in the neighborhood so we contacted the listing agent Ellason to schedule a viewing. Her response, “Tell your agent to come represent you. I travel all over the state when my client requires.”
Keep in mind her client is trying to sell the property in question and we are basically asking her to travel to that location.
My response, “Is that a no? You can’t show the house? As I said we are in a time crunch and don’t have time to wait for our agent to come. We live in Bayonne and could easily swing by.” She replied: “I’m on my way back from vacation. Be back Thursday.”
The following Friday I started a group text between myself, my wife, my agent and Ellason. This is how the exchange went. I’m leaving out the property and my agents name, but I introduced my agent, listed the property address and asked my agent to schedule a viewing. “...We would like to schedule a viewing for later today 6pm or tomorrow if possible. Will you be able to arrange that please.”
Ellason replies: “Who is this? I’m in a group text? You need permission for that”
My response, “We are trying to purchase your home located at *** ***St in Bayonne. My real estate agent is *** she is in the text. Permission comes from Zillow. If you don’t want to be contacted concerning a property you are trying to sell please remove it and your contact info from Zillow.”
I checked the property on Zillow this evening and it is now listed as off market. I feel sorry for her client, the seller, as she is running away business. Her broker needs to speak with her about her level of customer service.
