This was a waste of my money! I learned more about the teachers ancestors than I did real estate. I had to buy the PSI book and study for one year to feel the confidence just to fail! Took the test again and failed by two points. Today I have to take the course over but went to another company and saved over $215 for the course and I’ve already learned more in three hours then I did the two week course at this school. I highly recommend anyone wanting to take this course to shop around, because the course in Woburn is only $135 and well worth it.

Alicia Wyman is what defines an effective teacher. Great use of analogies & personal experiences that couple perfectly with the pertinent information to memorize. I've never liked school or most teachers, but She's right on point.

I've been going to Area since 1987 when Ted was running the place. What a great guy! I want to renew my real estate broker license so I will need to take the 12 hr online course and pay the Real Estate license fee, of course. Thank you Area!

I personally did not have a good experience. I have talked with other classmates who took from this instructor and all of them had a very difficult time passing the exam and spent a lot of extra dollars on retaking these multiple times, practice exams, tutoring etc. I would advise going to other schools who concentrate more on teaching techniques on passing the exam rather than filling time with personal stories.

I rarely write reviews, and write this one with great reservation, but I feel compelled to offer my opinion about the course with the hopes that it may be improved for other future students. I am originally licensed in FL and took an online course to obtain that license. I have also taken numerous online courses for various real estate related post-licensing requirements and many seminars. I commend AREA for offering options for distance learning (online classes) so that students can take the course on their own time and schedule. My main concern with this course is that the content provided in the videos / live classes is surface deep and too focused on the teacher and her life examples (although they add nice color, they are often distracting and laborious). In my opinion, the course offers a sampling of content materially relevant to the national and state tests, requiring students to *substantially* use outside resources to perform adequately. The notes provided for each section of the course are certainly that - notes - and potential students should not expect a fully fleshed out "guide book" or "content book" with this course. The practice exams are mildly useful, with questions ranging from what you would expect to ambiguous. Overall, the class served a purpose for me, namely, the 40-hr requirement, but if you are looking for an education and to learn this material for the first time, and are very detail oriented, I would try to find another course.
