We recently entered into a transaction as buyers, with Lisa Bunnell, of Reece & Nichols Leawood who was the listing agent on the property. We made an initial offer on one of her listings within the first day she had listed it, which was on a Friday. We instantly made a full price offer, and we were told by her, that we had to wait for the "re-location" company to sign off on things until Monday, but that the sellers could negotiate over the weekend. We did, and came to an agreement. Lisa sent our agent a text, stating, her sellers were in agreement and they were waiting on the relocation company to sign the papers. On Monday, we dropped everything signed the paper work, gave our earnest money, and thought we were just waiting on the formality of the "relocation company" to sign off, as after all, Lisa had verbally committed and given her word. The entire, time behind our backs, they were stalling on our offer, showing the home and accepting other offers. It came back to us, after four days of stalling and blaming the relocation company, (after verbally agreeing to our offer, and us "waiting" on the relocation company) that she and the sellers had accepted a more "attractive" offer. We were left with nothing, as we were still waiting on the signed documents that they claimed were waiting on from the relocation company. Unfortunately, we were raised to believe in the good of people, and trust in their word. Lisa is not one of those people. Lisa is unethical, has poor business practices, and is only in the business to make herself the most money. I am saddened we live in a world, where people like Lisa can make business transactions, and not be held accountable. My family means nothing to her, and we were just another transaction. However, I am a small business owner myself. And, when I give someone my word, it means something. Lisa and this agency have no morals, and make poor ethical business decisions. There are many great agents in the Kansas City metro. Don't waste your time, or efforts doing any sort of transaction with Lisa, you will be sorry.
